This month, Meizu launched its mBlu 10 budget smartphone in China with specs like a large LCD display, triple cameras, and a 5,000mAh battery. Now, the company seems to be prepping for another budget phone as a device with model number M2111 has just appeared on TENAA authority.

The Meizu M2111 has passed the TENAA authority and it reveals the phone’s design and specifications. It seems to be a budget-centric device under the mBlue branding. As per its images, the smartphone has a basic design, but the rear camera island looks similar to the iPhone 13’s camera module.

Coming to the specs, the Meizu M2111 has a 6.51-inch TFT display with 710 x 1600 pixels resolution. The smartphone seems to have a dual-camera system at the rear featuring a 48MP primary lens. As said above, it has an iPhone 13-like camera island where the lens placement is exactly the same as the iPhone 13. At the front, the phone has an 8MP selfie snapper.

It is powered by an unnamed quad-core chipset clocked at 2.0GHz. It houses a 5,000mAh battery. The phone will arrive in multiple variants having 4GB, 6GB of RAM 64GB, 128GB, 256GB of onboard storage. There will also be a storage expandability option via the microSD card slot.

Lastly, the listing reveals the phone’s colors and measurements. The Meizu M2111 has Black, White, Blue, and Gold colors. It has the following measurements – 164.5 x 76.5 x 9.33mm. The phone weighs 201 grams.

One spectacular thing Meizu is known for is the innovation it brings to the design of its smartphone. The company is expected to release the Meizu 16 any moment from now with lots of hype already generated around it. The design schematics of two new Meizu phones have appeared online with an interesting design style.

The two designs seem to be new patent filings by the company. The schematics of the two phones cast doubts as to where the main highlights are the phone designs or a couple of features. Both phones designs are of the trending full-screen but the screen ratio is the major thing that makes us question the design. One of the models presents with a near bezel-less screen but the top bezel is large enough to house the selfie sensor.

One of the two models presents with a dual camera sensor at the rear as well as a secondary screen. Meizu seems to have a thing for secondary screen even when that design used on the Pro 7 wasn’t really enough to elicit a wild response. Meizu’s CEO recently revealed the company has a huge inventory backlog of the device. A second Meizu phone packing a circular secondary screen which was never released made the rounds as well recently. But then, the back design of this model seems to be far better than what we had seen on the Pro 7.

We think the designs are of some innovative features that could find their way in trickles into Meizu phones in the future but we may not see a phone designed in any of this manner. Who knows, some of the features might find their way into the flagship Meizu 16.

Meizu released the flasghip Pro 7 with a secondary display at the back panel but it seems that design featured on the Pro 7 wasn’t what the company had lined out initially.

A new Meizu phone prototype has been spotted online. Well, it isn’t exactly new since it is a phone Meizu developed in 2016. The design includes a circular secondary display at rear panel which displays time. The device is said to also pack a Samsung Exynos 8890 chipset but had an expensive price tag of more than 3000 yuan and so it didn’t see the light of day.

The Meizu model doesn’t have a full screen design as it wasn’t popular back then. Secondary display on the Pro 7 didn’t really turn out to be popular so we might not see this design on a Meizu phone in the future. Check out the pictures from below and drop a comment on what you think about the design.

A couple of months back, a new set of renders of an alleged Meizu device popped up on the internet, revealing a brand new device with a true bezel-less front. The concept render doesn’t in any way mean Meizu was working on a bezel-less phone but then, that’s how it starts.Besides, Xiaomi did the unthinkable with the Mi Mix, so anything was possible.

Not too long ago, Meizu chairman, Jack Wong, also known as Huáng Zhāng hinted that company would be celebrating its 15 years anniversary next year and as a result, they would be releasing a smartphone with cutting-edge design. Jack Wong, who returned to the company in 2014, stated that he was going to build his dream machine for the 15th anniversary of Meizu.

This has made some to speculate that a full-screen, bezel-less design would feature on the said phone which may also pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip and other top-end specs. However, Meizu VP Li Nan has stated that the company will not launch a full-screen phone this year. Li Nan agrees full-screen phones are the trendy guys this year but he still has some query about their overall design and fingerprint sensor location. That doesn’t in any way rule out the possibility of a full-screen phone from Meizu next year. That is, Jack Wang’s “Dream machine”. The fact that Li Nan is evaluating the design style may be an indication that the company is working on a full-screen phone.

More mobile phone manufacturers are now embracing dual camera technology on their smartphones and this ranges from flagship devices to mid-budget smartphones. Many fans were quite disappointed with the lack of dual cameras on the Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus but Xiaomi is expected to feature such on the upcoming Mi 6. Meizu is not one to be left out of the party as a recently leaked set of images have shown what is likely Meizu’s first dual camera phones.

The leaked images which originated from China’s Weibo isn’t very clear but we are able to see that the smartphone comes in three distinct colours of gold, green and gray. All that we get is the rear view of all three color options but the dual rear camera would likely be the standout feature on the smartphone. The dual cameras sit in a horizontal plane at the top left corner of the phone while the LED flash and what is likely an OIS is at the right side of the sensors.

Also, the dual sensors are noticed to be of two different sizes with one bigger than the other. The main camera sensor is likely the bigger one while the supporting sensor should be the smaller one. The supporting sensor is most likely a depth of field sensor. Furthermore, the leaked dual camera smartphone also has a metal body which we could tell from the fused antenna band design which is visible at the top and bottom edges.

Now, these aren’t very clear renders and given the three different designs with dual cam setup, there’s a good possibility that this is the work of photoshop. The leakster probably wanted to just show off the design of the setup and not the entire back. So, if you were hoping for some real images of an upcoming dual camera Meizu device, you would probably have to wait for some more time.

Meizu recently reached a settlement with Qualcomm, thus bringing the lingering conflict that has seen the US chipmaker sue the Chinese phone maker in multiple lawsuits. The conflict had meant Qualcomm chips were consistently missing on Meizu smartphones for a long while now and fans of the brand yearn for a time when they would have a Qualcomm-powered Meizu smartphone.

Since the settlement with Qualcomm, there have been no official words from Meizu as to when a Snapdragon-powered Meizu phone would debut but a leaked Meizu 2017 product schedule had earlier revealed a Snapdragon 626-powered Meizu smartphone coming in December. A recent rumor had also disclosed that the Qualcomm-fired Meizu smartphone would meet with us in Q3 2017.

Meizu VP, Li Nan sort of confirmed that a Qualcomm-powered Meizu phone would launch towards the end of this year in response to a question on Weibo. The Meizu VP today hosted a Question & Answer session where he responded to questions by a fan as to when a Meizu phone with a high-end chip would launch. The VP disclosed that it takes an average of 8 months for Research and Development (R&D) for a new smartphone to get concluded and then production, certification, and other factors could see the time stretch from 8 to 12 months before the phone is launched. So, a Qualcomm-powered Meizu phone may hit the market at the end of this year. This puts paid to speculation of the expected Meizu Pro 7 sporting a Qualcomm chip but at least there is a ray of hope that we’ll finally have a Meizu phone, probably a high-end model, rocking a Qualcomm chip this year.

The device simply identified as M714Y appears to have gotten radio transmission approval with the various bands it features listed. Apart from the avalanche of radio frequencies listed on the approval sheet, no other useful detail of the phone in question is given. But it is unlikely this would be a Qualcomm chip-powered Meizu device because Meizu isn’t expected to use a Qualcomm chip just yet, despite its settlement with Qualcomm.

However, if we want to dissect the model number M714Y, the letter “Y” at the end is an indication the device would run on YunOS so it is not likely a flagship, definitely not the Pro 7. The most likely smartphone is the little known Meizu S which appeared on the leaked product schedule as launching in June this year. The schedule indicates the Meizu S would pack a MediaTek Helio P25 chip which is an upgraded Helio P20 version, meaning it is a mid-range smartphone. We’ll wait and see how this pans out in the long run.

Meizu has a new smartphone launching on September 5 but at this moment, the company has revealed nothing about the product. There have been reports that Meizu is all set to announce the Meizu Max smartphone on that day and it most likely will be a new phablet from the company.

While we may not be sure of the identity of the product launched on September 5, we may have some idea about the pricing. Recently, when users asked the question “What product will Meizu release on September 5” to Meizu’s voice assistant found on its Blue Charm devices, it answered 1799. This could be Meizu’s way of hinting the price of its upcoming device.

If this turns out to be the real pricing, the Meizu Max would directly compete with the likes of Xiaomi Mi Max and ZTE Nubia Z11 Max.
