The Chinese firm is still a couple of days away from the launch of Xiaomi Mi 6 and the rumor mill is already brewing up with fresh information on the next generation Mi Note series phablet.</p>
<p>An anonymous Chinese source has revealed that the upcoming Mi Note 3 will be packed with lethal specifications. The most powerful smartphone chipset from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 835 is rumored to fuel the phablet with a mammoth 8 GB RAM. It is expected to be available in native storage options such as 128 GB and 256 GB.</p>
<p>The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 features a dual edge curved screen that measures 5.7 inches. Its successor is also expected to arrive with a same sized display. Like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-note-2/" target="_blank">Mi Note 2</a>, its next generation model is pegged to be equipped with a identical battery of 4,070 mAh capacity.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-104432 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Mi-Note-2-Piano-black.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="648" height="425" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Mi-Note-2-Piano-black.jpg 648w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Mi-Note-2-Piano-black-300x197.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Mi-Note-2-Piano-black-540x355.jpg 540w" sizes="(max-width: 648px) 100vw, 648px" /></p>

<p>Even though the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is one of the most impressive smartphones from the company, there is no fresh information available on its market performance. The reason behind it is that the Mi Note 2 has reportedly encountered production issues.</p>
<p>Just as Samsung faced production problems with its first dual-edge curved phones, Xiaomi too is allegedly facing a similar issue with the production of dual-edge screens for Mi Note 2. However, the company seems to be well prepared in improving the production of curved displays for the Mi Note 3.</p>
<p>The Xiaomi Mi Note 3 is rumored to get unveiled in the second quarter of this year.  However, this piece of information cannot be confirmed as the company has not followed a consistent refresh cycle for the Mi Note series phones. The Mi Note and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-note-pro/">Mi Note Pro </a>phones were unveiled in January 2015. The Mi Note 2 arrived in October 2016. If Xiaomi has improved the building process for Mi Note 3, it may consider canning the Mi Note 2 to launch a successor phone with killer specs quickly.</p>

Experience tells us that there is a very good chance that your Mi phones, older than a year, won&#8217;t get the latest Android version, at least not officially. <p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/android-nougat-h1.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-101345" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/android-nougat-h1.jpg?x10805" alt="android-nougat-h1" width="680" height="340" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/android-nougat-h1.jpg 680w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/android-nougat-h1-300x150.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></a></p>
<p>Xiaomi is yet to reveal an official timetable for the release of the new Android 7 based MIUI 9 OS, but there is some good news for Xiaomi Mi 3, Mi 4 and Mi Note users (both standard and Mi Note Pro versions). The famous Mr. Ivan has once again ported stock Android 7 for the above-mentioned devices, which although unofficial, will get you the first taste of the Nougat update on your old smartphones.</p>
<p>Note that not all China Unicom and Telecom versions of the Xiaomi Mi 3 support this ROM. Also, this being an unofficial version, there are going to be bugs, so make sure you know the risk while flashing your smartphones with this ROM. Links are given below.</p>

The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is finally official and with it, we have got a flagship which we can directly compare with the likes of the Galaxy S7 Edge and the<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-p9/"> P9 series</a>.</p>
<p>So, let&#8217;s take a look at what the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-note-2/">Xiaomi Mi Note 2</a> brings to the table.</p>
<h2><span style="color: #993366;">DESIGN</span></h2>
<p>Design wise, Xiaomi has used the popular dual curved design, similar to what we saw on the Note 7. But with the phablet out of the picture due to its battery woes, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 can shine with its familiar design.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/mi-note-2-03.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-104261" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/mi-note-2-03.jpg?x10805" alt="xiaomi mi note 2 official " width="861" height="484" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/mi-note-2-03.jpg 861w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/mi-note-2-03-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/mi-note-2-03-768x432.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 861px) 100vw, 861px" /></a></p>
<p>The phone comes with 3D glass on both the front as well as the back. This means holding the phone is more comfortable due to its curved design. Further, for the frame, the company has used Aerospace grade 7 series aluminum, which gives it a smooth yet solid look.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/mi-note-2-02.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-104262" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/mi-note-2-02.jpg?x10805" alt="xiaomi mi note 2 silver" width="861" height="484" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/mi-note-2-02.jpg 861w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/mi-note-2-02-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/mi-note-2-02-768x432.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 861px) 100vw, 861px" /></a></p>
<p>There are two color options, Glacier Silver and Bright Black.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2><span style="color: #993366;">DISPLAY</span></h2>
<p>The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is the company&#8217;s first dual curved display smartphone. The company explains that it&#8217;s not easy to use 3D glass with an LCD display. Hence, the Mi Note 2 is using an innovative flexible OLED display which not only blends together with the curved glass up front, but the display also extends to the side. This is similar to what we see on other curved display phones.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/mi-note-2-display-oled.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-104257" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/mi-note-2-display-oled.jpg?x10805" alt="mi note 2 oled curved" width="861" height="484" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/mi-note-2-display-oled.jpg 861w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/mi-note-2-display-oled-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/mi-note-2-display-oled-768x432.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 861px) 100vw, 861px" /></a></p>
<p>The phone comes with a 5.7-inch curved display with 77.2% screen to body ratio, better than iPhone 7 Plus&#8217; 67.7%. The panel further boasts of 110% NTSC color gamut and 100,000:1 contrast ratio.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/mi-note-2-display.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-104258" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/mi-note-2-display.jpg?x10805" alt="mi note 2 display" width="861" height="484" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/mi-note-2-display.jpg 861w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/mi-note-2-display-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/mi-note-2-display-768x432.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 861px) 100vw, 861px" /></a></p>
<p>In case you are wondering, Lei Jun also mentioned that this advanced flexible screen costs as much as six times a regular 5.5-inch FHD LCD panel.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2><span style="color: #993366;">HARDWARE</span></h2>
<p>Like expected, Xiaomi has ensured the Mi Note 2 has the best hardware in the market right now. It comes with the Snapdragon 821 chipset clocked at 2.35GHz. As for memory, you have 6GB RAM of LPDDR4 dual channel RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.0 storage. Recent Xiaomi smartphones are known for its long battery life and the same continues with the Mi Note 2. The phone comes with a large 4070mAh battery and with Quick Charge 3.0, battery life is going to be its plus point. Other features of the flagship include AQSTIC HD Audio processor with Hi-Fi sound quality and low distortion (24 bit / 192KHz), NFC with fingerprint payments and improved SAP assisted GPS.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/mi-note-2-camera-specs.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-104270" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/mi-note-2-camera-specs.jpg?x10805" alt="mi note 2 camera specs" width="861" height="484" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/mi-note-2-camera-specs.jpg 861w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/mi-note-2-camera-specs-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/mi-note-2-camera-specs-768x432.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 861px) 100vw, 861px" /></a></p>
<p>As for the camera, the Mi Note 2 comes with the powerful 22.56MP IMX318 EXMOR RS sensor at the back. While there is no OIS on board, the module does have 3-axis gyroscope and EIS (Electronic Image stabilization). The camera also supports 4K video image stabilization at the hardware level. <p>The Xiaomi <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-note-2/">Mi Note 2</a>, according to OPPOMART, will come with a 5.7-inch 2K curved display with Snapdragon 821 on board and 4GB / 6GB RAM options. The listing further adds that the phone will support 37 bands from all over the world, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/10/19/xiaomi-mi-note-2-features-global-edition-37-frequency-bands/">which is something we reported earlier</a> and will feature dual 16MP Sony cameras at the back and 16MP sensor up front. Also, the website reveals that the phone will be priced at $499, but don&#8217;t get too excited, as nothing is official yet.</p>

<p>We can&#8217;t be sure of the authenticity of these specifications, but it&#8217;s pretty much what<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/10/18/multiple-xiaomi-mi-note-2-renders-appear-along-probable-pricing/"> recent rumors and leaks</a> have said about the<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi/"> Xiaomi</a> Mi Note 2. Only after the company makes the flagship official on October 25 can we confirm its specs for sure.</p>
<p>Till then stay tuned for more updates.</p>

While this is great news since the Mi5S is expected to come with powerful features, it did bring up the question of Xiaomi Mi Note 2 and its existence. A previous rumor even said that the phone may no longer exist, but today, a new screenshot has emerged, which is alleged to be of the Mi Note 2 Pro flagship.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/mi-note-2-screenshot-image.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-98252" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/mi-note-2-screenshot-image.jpg?x10805" alt="mi-note-2-screenshot-image" width="373" height="900" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/mi-note-2-screenshot-image.jpg 373w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/mi-note-2-screenshot-image-124x300.jpg 124w" sizes="(max-width: 373px) 100vw, 373px" /></a></p>
<p>The screenshot reveals some very powerful specs on the device. It shows that the Mi Note 2 Pro comes with a quad-core 2.6GHz processor, most likely<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/08/31/qualcomm-reveals-details-snapdragon-821-power-clusters-get-significant-boost/"> Snapdragon 821</a> along with massive 8GB of RAM on board. There&#8217;s even 256GB memory along with Android 7 Nougat. Overall, these specs are more powerful than any other handset in the market right now.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">RELATED:</span> Xiaomi Mi Note 2 To Be Called Xiaomi Mi Pro ?</strong></p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/20160815_124450_335.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-93804" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/20160815_124450_335.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Mi Note 2 renders 02" width="600" height="450" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/20160815_124450_335.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/20160815_124450_335-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/20160815_124450_335-160x120.jpg 160w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>While we can&#8217;t verify the screenshot, if this is indeed real, there is a good chance that we won&#8217;t get to see it soon. Since the Mi5S is expected to be announced later this month, releasing another flagship like the Mi Note 2 should be logically a few months later. Further, it&#8217;s still quite early to see 8GB RAM smartphones, when 6GB RAM still has to become standard among flagship phones of 2016. Of course, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/09/13/leecos-le-pro-3-feature-8gb-ram/">LeEco could release the first 8GB RAM phone</a>, but these are all just rumors.</p>
<p>For now, if you want a powerful Xiaomi smartphone, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/09/18/xiaomi-mi-5s-official-launch-september-27/">better wait for the Mi 5S flagship</a>.</p>

While Meizu was expected to release a 3D Touch enabled smartphone earlier this year, we haven&#8217;t seen it yet. However, looks like Xiaomi could soon release a smartphone with pressure sensitive display and it could be an upcoming model like the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/09/02/mi-note-2-versions-sd-820-4gb-sd-821-6gb-ram/">Xiaomi Mi Note 2</a> or the<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/06/22/xiaomi-mi5s-said-come-pressure-sensitive-display-ultrasonic-fingerprint/"> Xiaomi Mi5S</a>.</p>

<p>Recently, Xiaomi users found that 3D Touch feature was already available in their system, hidden away, probably because the hardware couldn&#8217;t support it. But given that the feature is built into the system, this could be a good indication that Xiaomi is readying a smartphone with 3D Touch display.</p>

<p>We have already heard rumors that Xiaomi is planning to release the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/09/04/xiaomi-mi-note-2-said-announced-september-14-5-7-inch-curved-screen-tow/">Mi Note 2 in September</a>. If the release is this month, expect more details soon.</p>

However, for those who are looking for a much more powerful smartphone, the company is soon said to release the Mi Note 2 flagship in September this year. Yes, earlier it was said that the Mi Note 2 would debut in August, but now, the latest rumors say that the release will be in September.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Mi-Note-2-screenshot.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-95859" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Mi-Note-2-screenshot.jpg?x10805" alt="Mi Note 2 screenshot" width="421" height="750" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Mi-Note-2-screenshot.jpg 421w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Mi-Note-2-screenshot-168x300.jpg 168w" sizes="(max-width: 421px) 100vw, 421px" /></a></p>
<p>Rumors about the Mi Note 2 have been cropping up in China quite consistently for the past few weeks, and the latest leak related to the phone reveals a few details about the specs of the device. A leaked screenshot of the Mi Note 2 shows that the phone will come with the Snapdragon 820 chipset clocked at 2.15GHz. There were rumors that the Mi Note 2 will also have a SD821 powered version, but we can only be sure after the company confirms it. This screenshot could be of one of the versions of the device.</p>

<p>Apart from the powerful SD820, the phone is also running 6GB RAM inside with 64GB of internal storage. So, this doesn&#8217;t look like the standard version. We expect a 4GB RAM version of the device as well. Finally, the screenshot reveals that the Mi Note 2 is running MIUI 8.6 version.</p>

<p>While we can&#8217;t be sure of the authenticity of this screenshot, these specs are just about what every leak have been pointing towards in the past few days. There are also rumors about a <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/08/25/xiaomi-mi-note-2-curved-screen-dual-cam-sd-821-chipset/">dual curved version of the phone</a>, which makes this device even more exciting.</p>

Analyst Pan Juitang has revealed that we could meet this new flagship as soon as this month, but as of now, we haven&#8217;t heard any official smartphone launch event in August. However, the rumors and leaks have painted a <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/06/29/xiaomi-mi-note-2-variants-leaked-detail-top-end-specs-including-dual-cameras/">very powerful image of the Mi Note 2 flagship</a>, with features such as dual cameras, curved screen display and Snapdragon 821 chip inside. Now, if you were wondering how the Mi Note 2 would look like with these features, then you are in luck as a few fan-made renders of the device have just been spotted.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/20160815_124418_909.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-93805 size-full" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/20160815_124418_909.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Mi Note 2 renders 01" width="600" height="450" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/20160815_124418_909.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/20160815_124418_909-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/20160815_124418_909-160x120.jpg 160w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>The Mi Note 2 renders seem to use the same 3D glass body of the Mi5, adding the dual cameras at the back and a curved display as revealed by recent rumors. In fact, a few days back, we even got to see the alleged <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/08/10/curved-panel-from-xiaomi-mi-note-2-leaked-image-inside/">dual curved display panel of the Mi Note 2</a>, revealing its slight resemblance to Galaxy Note 7&#8217;s design. Looks like these renders were made taking all these information into consideration and to be honest, the maker has done a fine job of making the Mi Note 2 look premium and flagship worthy. In fact, these renders could be close to what the new Xiaomi flagship could look like, although we haven&#8217;t seen it in real life to confirm this yet.</p>

<p>The front of the device looks beautiful, with curved glass display and the rectangular home button. These renders also have the speakers located at the bottom of the phone. You will also find the USB Type-C port used in the design. The back of the phone looks like the Mi5 with a glass body. However, we can see the dual cameras and dual tone flash on top.</p>

However, up till now, these rumors only revealed an approximate release period, which is said to be around August. But now, we might have a final date, as new rumors from China say that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will be announced on July 25. Further, the phone is said to come with a 5.7-inch display, 6GB of RAM, Snapdragon chipset and a price tag of 2499 Yuan ($375).</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-77614" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomiminote2.jpg?x10805" alt="xiaomi mi note 2" width="610" height="433" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomiminote2.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomiminote2-300x213.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomiminote2-600x426.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomiminote2-255x180.jpg 255w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></p>
<p>So, does the July 25 date make sense? Kind of. Xiaomi has already started teasing the Mi Note 2 and when a company does that, it can only mean that the release date is near. July 25 is still around three weeks away, which means there&#8217;s still time for Xiaomi to start teasing the device aggressively.</p>
<p>Moreover, another reason why July 25 could indeed be the release date of the Mi Note 2 is because of the latest teaser. Remember the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/07/04/xiaomi-mi-note-2-teased-better-xiaomi-mi5/">teaser Xiaomi released a couple of days</a> back saying <strong>2&gt;5</strong>. Here &gt; could imply 7, which would mean that 2&gt;5 is hinting at the July 25 date (7 / 25).</p>
<p>If you want another reason to believe this date, then just go back a few more days and recall the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/06/19/xiaomi-launch-flagship-product-july-xiaomi-mi-note-2/">comment made by the Xiaomi co-founder</a>, Lin Bin. He had said that the company will release a powerful flagship in July. Mi Note 2 should be out best bet.</p>
<p>Taking all these information into consideration, it is possible that we meet the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 on July 25. Of course, nothing is confirmed at the moment, so we can&#8217;t be 100% sure until we the company confirms the date.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">RELATED:</span> <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/07/04/xiaomi-launch-4000-yuan-600-phone-year/">Xiaomi to release a 4000 Yuan ($600) Flagship this year</a></strong></p>
<p>The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is said to the be the most powerful handset from the company till date, even rumored to feature the new <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/03/29/xiaomi-mi-note-2-specs-leaked-powerhouse-460/">Snapdragon 821 chipset along with 6GB of RAM</a>. There should be other versions as well, like <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/06/22/xiaomi-mi-note-2-details-leaked-three-versions-two-one-curved-screen/">one with dual cameras and dual curved edge display. </a></p>
<p>Hopefully, we will get more details about the handset in the coming days.</p>

This year, the company has launched a similar program wherein Mi Note users can get a free upgrade to Natural Bamboo Cover free of charge.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-88628" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/mi-note-2-bamboo.png?x10805" alt="mi note 2 bamboo" width="610" height="381" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/mi-note-2-bamboo.png 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/mi-note-2-bamboo-300x187.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></p>
<p>The offer started on 4th July and will be live until 31st July. Mi owners only need to take their Mi Note, to any authorised service shop and the glass cover on their phones can be replaced with the natural bamboo cover, free of charge.</p>
<p>However, there are a few conditions that must be met to get this free upgrade, and is available on a first come first serve basis. Each user will be entitled to 2 upgrades only and the offer is limited to in-store replacement only.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-88627" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/mi-note-2-bamboo-2.png?x10805" alt="mi note 2 bambo2" width="610" height="398" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/mi-note-2-bamboo-2.png 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/mi-note-2-bamboo-2-300x196.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></p>
<p>Xiaomi also seems to have an advice for the users who are looking to avail the offer. The company has mentioned that the bamboo covers looks amazing on the white version. But for the black and pink versions, users need to be careful as it might not be as good looking as it looks on the white ones.</p>
<p>As per Xiaomi, the replacement bamboo cover is made of best<span lang="en"> quality natural bamboo found in the southern part of China, which is known for its strength and delicate string texture. The thin arc-shaped structure is 0.9 mm thick and weighs 5grams less than the original glass version. The bamboo cover is waterproof and will not deform quickly. Each case carries a unique texture giving the Mi Note a lightweight, thin and delicate sense of natural bamboo texture.</span></p>

We guessed it would be the rumored Xiaomi Mi Note 2 as it was logically the next flagship smartphone for the company. Now, it looks like the first generation Xiaomi Mi Note is listed as sold out, which hints that the Mi Note 2 flagship release could be close by.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-77614" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomiminote2.jpg?x10805" alt="xiaomi mi note 2" width="610" height="433" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomiminote2.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomiminote2-300x213.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomiminote2-600x426.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomiminote2-255x180.jpg 255w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></p>
<p>Apart from the details <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/06/19/xiaomi-launch-flagship-product-july-xiaomi-mi-note-2/">we heard earlier today</a>, more information about the specs of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 have cropped up online. It is said that the phone will use a 2K 5.7-inch display so that the screen resolution is high enough for Xiaomi&#8217;s VR. Another interesting piece of information revealed today is that there would be Xiaomi Mi5S announced as well, which should be a slightly upgraded version of the Mi5 flagship. Further, they should be using metal injection molding process.</p>
<p>As for the other specs, there should be at least two versions with 4GB and 6GB RAM, Snapdragon 821 chipset and even a variant with dual cameras. If the Note 2 indeed comes with these specs, it would be a treat for power users. Also, considering the specs, the Mi Note 2 should retail around the same price as the Honor V8, which cost upwards of 2499 Yuan (&gt;$380).</p>
<p>There are also rumors about the flexible screen phone from Xiaomi with a screen size of around 5.5-5.7-inches. But not much details are available about the device yet.</p>

However, he failed to mention the name or any feature of the flagship (except that it&#8217;s high-end) which makes us wonder which product will meet us next month. Below mentioned are a few guesses based on recent rumors.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-77614" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomiminote2.jpg?x10805" alt="xiaomi mi note 2" width="610" height="433" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomiminote2.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomiminote2-300x213.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomiminote2-600x426.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomiminote2-255x180.jpg 255w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></p>
<p>Some rumors say that the Xiaomi flagship to be announced next month is going to be none other than the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 flagship. We have been <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/03/29/xiaomi-mi-note-2-specs-leaked-powerhouse-460/">hearing about the device for the past few months</a> and hence, it won&#8217;t be surprising if we meet the flagship soon. Another possibility is the Xiaomi Mi Edge, a phone that has been <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2014/12/27/xiaomi-arch-dual-curved-screen-phone/">rumored since late 2014</a>. If we indeed meet this device, then expect features such as a flexible / curved screen with a size of around 5.5-5.7 inches.</p>
<p>Specs wise, you can expect a lot of good things inside the new <strong>Mi Note 2</strong>. The phone is said to come with the Snapdragon 821 chiset, a slightly <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/06/06/asus-zenfone-deluxe-may-feature-snapdragon-821-instead-823/">overclocked version of the SD820</a>. Along with this, you can expect 6GB RAM on board with several variants. Earlier rumors have said that there could be a dual camera version as well. This is possible as recently, an insider posted on Weibo that Xiaomi, OPPO and Apple are all working on dual camera phones this year.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-66785" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/xiaomi-laptop-specs.png?x10805" alt="xiaomi-laptop-specs" width="605" height="400" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/xiaomi-laptop-specs.png 605w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/xiaomi-laptop-specs-300x198.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/xiaomi-laptop-specs-600x397.png 600w" sizes="(max-width: 605px) 100vw, 605px" /></p>
<p>Another possibility is the release of the Xiaomi Notebook. We have seen<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/06/17/mould-used-xiaomis-laptop-leaked-trial-production-underway/"> leaks about this product </a>as well as heard a lot of rumors for the past six months. The Notebook is <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/06/13/xiaomi-notebook-windows-10-exposed-releasinf-summer/">said to be released this summer </a>and July would be a good time for its 12.5-inch model to be announced. While we haven&#8217;t seen the laptop in any images yet, it is said that it will come with a light weight aluminum design to rival the Apple Macbooks.</p>
<p>So, what do you think will be released in July?</p>

In fact, if we actually take a look at the past few months, Xiaomi has regularly released/ updated its Redmi and Mi series smartphones. This brings us to the one series which seems to be forgotten at the moment and that&#8217;s none other than the Mi Note series.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomiminote2.jpg?x10805" rel="attachment wp-att-77614"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-77614" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomiminote2.jpg?x10805" alt="xiaomi mi note 2" width="610" height="433" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomiminote2.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomiminote2-300x213.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomiminote2-600x426.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/xiaomiminote2-255x180.jpg 255w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></a></p>
<p>However, a few hours ago, new details about the Mi Note 2 emerged, which reveals the specs as well as pricing of the device. It is said that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will come in a number of variants in terms of processor, storage and RAM. For example, it is said that the phone will have Snapdragon 820 as well as 823 chip versions, as well as 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM options. In terms of storage, starting at 32GB, the storage option reportedly will go up to 256GB.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-77603" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/mi-note-2-specs-rumor.png?x10805" alt="mi note 2 specs rumors" width="604" height="223" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/mi-note-2-specs-rumor.png 604w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/mi-note-2-specs-rumor-300x111.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/mi-note-2-specs-rumor-600x222.png 600w" sizes="(max-width: 604px) 100vw, 604px" /></p>
<p>To recap, this is not the first time we have heard about the Snapdragon 823 version. Analyst Pan Jiutang had revealed in February that Snapdragon 823 model number MSM8996 Pro should come with an upgraded CPU (higher clock speed?) but the baseband should be the same.</p>
<p>Coming back to the Mi Note 2, the phone is said to come with the same screen size, 5.7-inches with 2K resolution. There&#8217;s even the possibility of pressure sensitive display. Other rumored specs include a large 3600mAh battery with support for 18W Quick Charging, 16MP rear camera (Sony IMX 295) with OIS and a 5MP front camera. The phone should be made out of metal.</p>
<p>The source further reveals that the release of Snapdragon 823 will depend on its availability. Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is expected to come with this chip, and it&#8217;s possible that the Mi Note also uses this upgraded CPU for better performance.</p>
<p>Finally, coming to the pricing, the phone is said to retail for around 2999 Yuan which comes to $460. That&#8217;s not really a bad figure considering all the high-end hardware packed inside.</p>
<p>However, it&#8217;s still too early to say anything about the Mi Note 2 for sure, so we will advise you to take this rumor with a pinch of salt. If Xiaomi does intend to update the lineup, expect a release only in the second half of 2016.</p>

The company reportedly upgraded the kernel on their devices to the new Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. However, the update was rolled out to only those who were using the closed beta ROM.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/wpid-s_350833773f5347199996953412ba7cd91.png?x10805"><img class="alignnone size-full" title="s_350833773f5347199996953412ba7cd9.png" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/wpid-s_350833773f5347199996953412ba7cd91.png?x10805" alt="image" /></a></p>
<p>So, if you are still using the stable version, you can only expect the update after a while. But since the select beta ROM users have already received the update, those who are using the developer ROM should also get the upgrade pretty soon.</p>
<p>The new MIUI 7 OS comes with a number of interesting features which we have<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/08/19/10-amazing-miui-7-features/"> detailed here</a>. Although its similar to the older version in terms of looks, feature wise, there&#8217;s a lot upgrades that you enjoy. The Chinese Xiaomi Mi Note Pro users reported that the update was around 758MB in size. So, if you are one of the lucky beta users who has received the update prompt, make sure that you are connected to a strong Wi-Fi before updating. Also, like always we would like to advise to keep at least 50% charge on your device before starting the upgrade process.</p>

It was the highest Priced phone from Xiaomi and yet it is one of the most premium and Powerfull device. The sad part is that Xiaomi did not had a lot of stocks to sell.</p>
<p>Today, Lin Bin, president of Xiaomi on his weibo said that <strong>They will launch better looking  special edition</strong><strong> Mi Note tomorrow</strong><strong>, the tagline in the picture is &#8220;Bamboo in the chest&#8221;, it means confidence in Chinese.</strong></p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/effeff.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-43887" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/effeff.jpg?x10805" alt="effeff" width="440" height="782" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/effeff.jpg 440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/effeff-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/effeff-236x420.jpg 236w" sizes="(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px" /></a></p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Xiaomi Mi Note is the flagship device from Xiaomi and is also one of the best devices one can buy. It has a metal frame and 3D curved glass on both of its sides. The Xiaomi Mi Note packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, clocked at 2.5 GHz, and backed by the Adreno 330 GPU and 3 GB of RAM. Apart from the amount of RAM, this processing package may seem a little dated given the advances in the last year, but it is still more than capable of easily handling intensive tasks.</p>

We are hearing a lot of news about the company as they are growing at an extremely fast pace. We may see a lot of comparisons to Apple, which company uses even in its official product launches. What is more, sometimes it is really obvious that this company has taken a lot of inspiration from Cupertino based tech giant.</p>
<p>Some call them the &#8220;Apple of China&#8221;, others predict them to be the global smartphones leader in about 5 years time. To further support these predictions, we have some news about some aggressive marketing tactics, which will be used directly at Apple. We saw that coming, just did not know the exact type of implementation.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Screenshot-2015-01-24-15.50.53.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-40815" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Screenshot-2015-01-24-15.50.53.png?x10805" alt="Screenshot 2015-01-24 15.50.53" width="1266" height="908" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Screenshot-2015-01-24-15.50.53.png 1266w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Screenshot-2015-01-24-15.50.53-300x215.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Screenshot-2015-01-24-15.50.53-1024x734.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Screenshot-2015-01-24-15.50.53-586x420.png 586w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Screenshot-2015-01-24-15.50.53-640x459.png 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Screenshot-2015-01-24-15.50.53-681x488.png 681w" sizes="(max-width: 1266px) 100vw, 1266px" /></a></p>
<p>Xiaomi&#8217;s Media Development Director shared some thoughts about that. Right now it is obvious that Xiaomi, in order to allow iPhone users to make an easy transition to Xiaomi&#8217;s handsets, some hardware and software adjustments have been made.</p>
<p>The company stresses out its newest flagship &#8211; Xiaomi Mi Note, which has a dual-Sim dual-standby capabilities. One slot will be used for micro SIM cards, while another will be used either for Nano SIM cards or Micro SD cards for memory expansion. This hardware adjustment means that the iPhone users can make an easy transition without the need to replace their SIM card type and use it in Xiaomi&#8217;s device straight away!</p>
<p>In addition to this, Xiaomi development team is may be prepping an app, which will be placed directly into Apple&#8217;s App Store. This app will make everything easy to switch to Xiaomi: migrate data, sync contacts and will make easy merging and avoiding duplicate contacts.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Screenshot-2015-01-24-15.51.10.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-40816" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Screenshot-2015-01-24-15.51.10.png?x10805" alt="Screenshot 2015-01-24 15.51.10" width="1278" height="666" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Screenshot-2015-01-24-15.51.10.png 1278w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Screenshot-2015-01-24-15.51.10-300x156.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Screenshot-2015-01-24-15.51.10-1024x534.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Screenshot-2015-01-24-15.51.10-806x420.png 806w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Screenshot-2015-01-24-15.51.10-640x334.png 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Screenshot-2015-01-24-15.51.10-681x355.png 681w" sizes="(max-width: 1278px) 100vw, 1278px" /></a></p>
<p>Finally, what about a trade in program? That&#8217;s right! Xiaomi&#8217;s Media Development Director is happy to say that that the company may soon launch the trade in program! You may be able to trade in any iPhone 5s or older iPhone, whether it is good or bad condition, and you will get a free Xiaomi Mi Note! What is more, The iPhone 6 or 6 Plus trade in will get you a free top of the line flagship Xiaomi Mi Note Pro!</p>
<p>It seems pretty obvious that the Xiaomi wants start ruling not only in China, but other markets as well. In addition, they definitely want to expand the circle or new and loyal customers. That being said, they do everything by the online marketing means. We say it is quite impressive.</p>
<p>Do you think that Xiaomi will strike at Apple seriously? Let us know in the social poll or in the comments section below.</p>

<p>However, it seems that Xiaomi has something more to show for the public and two devices were not enough. Well, at least this is what Antutu database says.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/240815d9f0ab4c9cb10d891f59014b63.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-40459" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/240815d9f0ab4c9cb10d891f59014b63.jpg?x10805" alt="240815d9f0ab4c9cb10d891f59014b63" width="600" height="771" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/240815d9f0ab4c9cb10d891f59014b63.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/240815d9f0ab4c9cb10d891f59014b63-233x300.jpg 233w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/240815d9f0ab4c9cb10d891f59014b63-327x420.jpg 327w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>According to this information on Antutu database, the Xiaomi has the Note Plus version in its pipeline. As you can see from the specs, the device will come with the Android 5.0 out of the box with the MIUI skin on top of that. Also, it will pack the 8 core chip, which is most likely the Snapdragon 810, Adreno 430 GPU, 2k 1440×2560 pixels screen, 13mp camera.</p>
<p>From the above mentioned specs we can see that it will be almost identical device as the the Mi Note Pro. That keeps us wondering why the Xiaomi decided to release one more version of its phablet portfolio and how different it will be.</p>

<p>As you can see, the device has some design inspiration from the company&#8217;s own Xiaomi Mi4 as it has 3 capacitive keys on the front bottom, metal farm and white plastic back. However, the Mi Note has something new to offer, which includes a 3D glass (on the high-end version) and 2.5 glass (on the lower-end version). Moreover, there is a 4Mp Ultrapixel camera sensor on the front, which is the same as the one on the HTC One M8. What is more, the device spots an interesting back design, which is curved. It provides a great look and better grip for a user. In addition to this, there is a 13mp camera sensor provided by Sony (most likely IMX214), which is also equipped with the OIS and dual tone dual LED flash setup. We are happy to see that the camera sensor and its lenses remain flat with the surface of the back. All of this beauty sits in a fairly compact body for the 5.7 inches phablet device: 55.1x 77.6 x 6.95mm. In comparison, the iPhone 6 Plus measures 158.1 x 77.8 x 7.1 mm. As usual, the Xiaomi was happy to make a lot of iPhone 6 comparisons, where their new flagship phablet wins.</p>

As we already know that the device will be powered by the beast of the chip &#8211; Snapdragon 810 (other specs are just being officially unveiled at the moment), we have something interesting to share with you, which involves a presentation about the Xiaomi&#8217;s new flagship phablet being abused in several ways.</p>
<p>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOZ5i0_1Xv4&#038;feature=youtu.be</p>
<p>The test, which was made by the company is called a steel ball impact test and a drop test, where the company tests how sturdy their new device is.</p>
<p>During the first test, the steel ball weight was chosen to be at 131 grams and it was dropped from the height of 30 cm right on the plastic back of the device. Of course, nothing happened to the device (who would show their own device fail on video?).</p>
<p>During the second test, the MI Note device was dropped face down from the height of 150 cm. It dropped right on the hard concrete floor and it seemed that it was too easy for the device as nothing happened to the screen.</p>
<p>Having said all this, we should say that most of the companies do all kinds of drop tests, which may be similar to these seen in the video above. Still, we are happy to see that Xiaomi is proud of making another sturdy device, which  can survive a few drops in different situations.</p>
