Samsung‘s Galaxy S22 smartphones are arguably among the best camera phones on the market, offering impressive low-light performance with advanced Nightography features. Now with an updated version of the Expert RAW app, the South Korean company is bringing astrophotography and multiple exposure features to the Galaxy S22’s camera. Here are the details.
Samsung has announced that it is bringing new features – Multiple Exposure and Astrophotography Modes to the Galaxy S22 smartphones running OneUI 5.0 (via GoAndroid). The company also formally launched a new app called Camera Assistant.
The Astrophotography Mode will allow users to capture clear photos of constellations and dark sky activity. To use this mode, users need to turn on the new Sky Guide feature to pinpoint the locations of constellations, solar systems, and groups of stars. The device’s camera will then use advanced AI segmentation technology and multi-frame processing based on the movements of the celestial bodies to capture photos over a set time period. The Astrophotography Mode lets users choose a shutter speed between UW 30 sec / W 20 sec / T 15 sec / ST 4 sec.
On the contrary, Multiple Exposure Mode enables users to take multiple pictures of the same scene and overlay them on top of each other. The two new features can be accessed from the Special Photo section of the newer version of the Expert RAW camera app.
In addition, Samsung also announced the Camera Assistant app for the Galaxy S22. It gives users an option to enable or disable certain features in the stock camera app. It allows users to turn off auto HDR, soften pictures, auto switch lenses, record video in photo mode, and much more.
Viomi Technology has released its first air conditioner with active formaldehyde removal technology. The Viomi Master AI Air-conditioner 1.5HP comes with some impressive capabilities. It is among a lineup of products released by the company in China. The new Viomi 1.5HP AI air conditioner uses China’s 863 plan patented technology and delivers a two-hour formaldehyde removal rate of 99.9%, according to the company.
The Viomi AI air conditioner Master uses AI technology and achieves a greater performance than traditional air purifiers in terms of formaldehyde removal. It is equipped with a module specifically for the removal of harmful formaldehyde from the air. It has a built-in primary filter and an alloy core made from aviation material aluminum. It also uses active manganese in the removal of formaldehyde coating.
The pioneering technology of formaldehyde removal is impressive in the air conditioning industry. Traditional air conditioners seek to replace the formaldehyde in the room with fresh air but the Viomi Master AI Air-conditioner 1.5HP works differently. It decomposes formaldehyde into water and carbon dioxide, providing a more efficient and thorough approach to the problem.
The air conditioner has a large air volume of about 600 cubic meters per hour. Its air duct design and technology make the formaldehyde removal and production of clean air to be seamless.
The Viomi 1.5HP AI Air Conditioner Master is available from Jingdong for 3,999 yuan (~$554). Global availability details are lacking for the product at this time.
Earlier this month, India’s competition regulator accused Google of misusing its dominant position on the Play Store to force app developers to use its in-app payment system, and was slapped with a fine of Rs. 1337 crores- the equivalent of $161.95 million. Now, the search giant has received another hefty fine for the very same reason. Here are the details.
In its second ruling against Google in less than a week, India’s Competition Commission on Tuesday fined the Mountain View giant Rs 936.44 crore (around $113.04 million) for abusing its dominant position with respect to its Play Store policies. The regulator has also directed the company to cease and desist from unfair business practices within a defined timeline, as well as take various steps to address anti-competitive issues.
For the uninitiated, Google Play Store policy states that app developers should only use Google Play’s Billing System (GPBS) to accept payments for apps distributed or sold through the Play Store and for in-app purchases. The company restricts app developers from using any third-party billing or payment processing services, either for in-app purchases or for purchasing apps.
The regulator’s order says, “Google has perpetuated its dominant position in the online search market, resulting in the denial of market access for competing search apps in contravention of Section 4(2)(c) of the Act. Google has leveraged its dominant position in the Play Store to protect its dominant position in online general search, in contravention of Section 4(2)(e) of the Act.”
In response, a Google spokesperson on Wednesday said, “We remain committed to our users and developers and are reviewing the decision to evaluate the next steps,” as per a tweet by ANI.
“Indian developers have benefited from the technology, security, consumer protections, and unrivalled choice and flexibility that Android and Google Play provide. By keeping costs low, our model powered India’s digital transformation and expanded access for hundreds of millions of Indians,” the spokesperson added.

Global PC shipments in the third quarter of the year fell 15.5 percent year-on-year basis as per Counterpoint Research data. Q3, 2022 is the period between July to September. PC OEM’s shipped 71.1 million units in this year’s Q3. Counterpoint states that this is another wave of huge YoY decline after the severe annual and sequential falls of 11.1 percent in Q2, 2022.
The decline in the third quarter of 2022 is attributed largely due to demand weakness across both consumer and commercial markets, mainly driven by global inflation. OEMs and ODMs have a negative outlook on Q4 2022 and the first half of 2023 despite the issue of a component shortage being resolved. Counterpoint in conversation with supply chain members said that the largest inventory numbers were in Q3, 2022. PC OEMs believe that the destocking process will continue into 2023.
As for the OEMs, Apple registered a 7 percent YoY growth in shipments. This is because the Cupertino-based giant announced a new product late in Q2 and shipments were restocked after lockdowns in China. ASUS had a 9 percent year-on-year decline in shipments whereas Lenovo dropped 16 percent. Both companies had a market share of 5.5 and 16.9 percent respectively in Q3, 2022. HP sold 12.7 million units in Q3 with an 18 percent share. It fell 26.5 percent on a YoY basis. Dell recorded 17 percent share and 20 percent drop in shipment.
Chipmaker AMD hinted that the PC market weakness has already negatively impacted its profits and outlook, while Taiwanese brands Acer and Asus both stated that the PC sector will not recover until H2 2023.
Counterpoint says that “Among all PC product segments, we believe Arm-based PCs and gaming PCs are poised to weather the market downturn best, with the help from Apple’s M-series offerings as well as incremental R&D efforts from chip makers and the wider ecosystem.”

Two alleged spies from China have just recently been arrested in the US for allegedly interfering with the investigation case against Huawei. The company has been designated as a national security threat in the past, so here’s all we know about this matter.
The Department of Justice announced that it had arrested two men that are believed to be working for Chinese intelligence. These men apparently tried to hinder the US investigation into the Chinese tech giant. For those unaware, the company was placed in the US Entity list back in 2019, and faced further sanctions in months that followed. It was even cut off from Google at the start and lost its primary chip supplier, TSMC, as well by the following year.
Since then, Huawei’s smartphone operations faced a crippling blow, with its latest smartphone models launching with top end Qualcomm chipsets that do only offer 4G connectivity. From being a top smartphone maker, the brand is nowhere near the top players in the market any longer. The two Chinese spies arrested by the US are Guochum He and Zheng Wang. Both of these men are being accused of working with the Chinese government and attempting to steal files and other information from the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York.
Notably, the files being stolen were related to an “ongoing federal criminal investigation and prosecution of a global telecommunications company (Company-1) based in the PRC (People’s Republic of China) believed to be Huawei.” In the list of accusations, both men were even charged with bribing 41,000 US Dollars in Bitcoin to a US government employee, who they thought was working for the PRC. However, that governemnt employee was actually a double agent for the FBI. So now, Wang faces 20 years in prison while He may face a sentence nearly twice as long, around 40 years.
Ola Electric has been working on an electric car for some time now. And during the Diwali festival, the company had shared another promotional video, which teased its first ever electric car. So here are all the interesting details we could spot.
For those unaware, the company has already teased its upcoming electric vehicle in the past as well. Now, the brand has teased the new Ola Electric Car once again, this time offering us a glimpse of the interiors of the vehicle. The teaser was shared on YouTube and shows off the design of the steering wheel, which is quite unique. It features a rectangular design, with digital dials for the driver’s instrumentation. The steering wheel also houses a central infotainment system and a crossover like body style.
Prior to its electric car, the brand had also launched the Ola S1 Air series of electric scooters, which were the most affordable model in the country. So, we can expect some competitive pricing for its electric car as well. The new teaser only offers us a brief look at the interiors, but the rectangular steering design is very different from the conventional circular wheel format. Furthermore, it also has the Ola logo on the center, which is surrounded by backlit steering controls.
Interestingly, the electric car showed off in the teaser video appears to be different from the one we have seen before. The last teaser had showcased a sporty sedan like electric vehicle. However, the latest teaser shows a new model with a crossover like design. So, it is appears that the final body is still unclear at the moment. So stick around for more, as we will be providing updates when additional information is available regarding this matter.
Before you read this article, I must say that I love this phone. This uleFone Armor 17 Pro, although it looks ordinary, it is actually very interesting. If I had to choose one of the best rugged phones in 2022, Armor 17 Pro would be one of the candidates.
https://youtu.be/cyPtnCmxnn4
Unboxing
The reason I like this phone so much is that as soon as I opened the box, I could feel the thoughtfulness of uleFone. First of all, the charging cable, manual, and Tempered Glass Screen Protector that comes with most rugged phone are all there. What’s also included is a lanyard and SIM pick to help you open the SIM card slot. This SIM pick is better than a pry bar, because once the pry bar is broken, you can’t use it, but this SIM pick allows you to break it at least twice.
This charger is also very awesome, we’ll leave it to the charging part to talk more about it. There is also a special accessory that only Armor 17 Pro has, a Wallet, with MagSafe!
MagSafe Wallets
Yes, Armor 17 Pro not only supports wireless charging, but also supports magnetic wireless charging. Meaning it can be used like an iPhone with a magnetic wallet, and it’s free. In fact, it’s more than a wallet, it’s also a phone stand. Unfold it like this and it keeps the phone up.
Definitely a very handy tool for those of you who love to watch Tiktok. If you are interested in MagSafe accessory for iPhone, you can also buy some and install it on Armor 17 Pro. Don’t worry, it definitely fits, because I put the Armor 17 Pro’s wallet on iPhone and it works too. But this free accessory seems to be available only to the first 500 orders, so hurry up and order it if you like it.
Design
The Armor 17 Pro’s design looks rather normal, but that doesn’t mean it’s ugly. The back is very simple, with a matte carbon fiber textured back panel plus a centered lens module. There’s no flashy design, so at least you won’t get bored with it after a long time. And it feels great to the touch, very silky smooth. The SIM card slot supports two SIM cards and one TF card. The power button and fingerprint button are all in one, and there is also an NFC and headphone jack. Even though the speakers are dual stereo speakers, the Armor 17 Pro is one of the most fully featured rugged phones I’ve ever seen.
Although the 17 Pro is a rugged phone, it is only 12.5mm thick and the weight is less than 300g, which is a relatively thin and light rugged phone. It not only supports the basic IP68 and IP69K certifications, but it also has no dust plugs for its ports. This shows that uleFone is very confident with the dustproof capability. If there is dirt on the port, wash and dry it and you can continue to use it.
Camera
The Armor 17 Pro’s camera module is made up of three cameras, the main camera is the 108MP HM2 and the other two are the 8MP Ultra-wide camera and a Night vision camera. the HM2 is a very good sensor and will give you a very nice photo most of the time. The most surprising thing is that it has autofocus face detection. Even today many phones do not have this feature.
Main Camera
The 8MP Ultra-wide camera doesn’t perform as well as the main camera, but considering that some rugged phones don’t even have an Ultra-wide camera, it’s good that the 17 Pro has this one.
Ultra-wide Camera
Display
The Armor 17 Pro’s screen is a 120Hz FHD+ LCD screen with Corning Gorilla 5th gen protective glass. 120Hz screens are rare in rugged phones. And with a 240Hz touch sampling rate, it’s already much better than most rugged phones. If you want it to be smooth and power efficient, you can also choose 90Hz.
Performance
The processor it uses is Helio G99, although a little better than many other rugged phones in the G80 series, but you probably know it based on the Benchmark score, still an entry chip. PUBG mobile? No problem. Genshin Impact? Maybe run in the lowest graphics. I recommend that you only use it to watch videos or websites browsing, with the high refresh rate of the screen, the experience of daily use will be a big step up from other rugged phones.
Charging
The Armor 17 Pro supports 66w of wired charging and 15w of wireless charging, and the wired charging power is the fastest of any rugged phone we’ve tested. 38% in 10 minutes and 90% in 30 minutes.
This free charger is really great, not only is it a Type C port, and it supports all the charging protocols, meaning that almost all devices can be charged quickly with it. Normally such a charger would cost you extra money to buy, uleFone gave it to us for free which I really didn’t expect.
So, can you understand why I love it now? It looks like an ordinary rugged phone, and there is no fancy design. However, it has MagSafe, it has a magnetic wallet, it has 66w charging speed, it has a 120Hz screen, these are its unique pros.
Especially MagSafe, I never thought there would be this kind of feature on the rugged phone, which normal Android phones don’t have. It refreshes my perception of rugged phone again.

A new report has just revealed some interesting details regarding the upcoming EarFun Air Pro 3 truly wireless earbuds. The TWS model was spotted on a major certification website, which revealed its design and specifications. So let’s have a look.
The news arrives from 91Mobiles, who spotted the new wireless earphones on the FCC certification website. Looking at the database, we can see that the company is planning on launching a new hearable product that is called the Air Pro 3. As the name suggests, it will be the successor to the Air Pro 2 model. The certification listing revealed that the earbuds will offer Active Noice Cancellation (ANC) as well as Qualcomm aptX adaptive support, and more.
Talking about its design, we can see that the EarFun Air Pro 3 comes with a rectangular charging case that has rounded corners. Meanwhile, we can see that the earbuds themselves feature an in ear design with silicon tips and a stem design. The body of the earbuds also houses a button that will likely offer multiple functions like play, pause, next track, and more. The earbuds’ tips are also slightly angled, which allows them to offer a better fit as well.
Arriving at the specifications, the new Air Pro 3 model will offer aptX adaptive sound, ANC, and even Bluetooth 5.3. This model will likely be compatible with both iOS and Android and will be powered by a 54mAh battery on each bud, which is further supplemented by a 520mAh battery pack on the charging case. The user manual on FCC claims that the earbuds will take around 1 hour to charge fully while the charging case will take around 2 hours of charging through a USB Type C port. It even supports wireless charging that would take 3.5 hours.
Apple is apparently planning on finally ditching its lightning port in favor of the USB Type C port. The company has been pushing its proprietary technology on its latest iPhones for years now, but it seems that this will soon change.
The European Union recently passed a law that made it mandatory for all smartphone makers to launch handsets that feature the USB Type C port by the year 2024. As of right now, the Cupertino based giant is the only major brand to not follow this USB standard in the smartphone market. Rather, it shipped its iPhones with its proprietary Lightning port. Now, the brand has explained the reasons for not adopting the USB Type C standard, however, it has also stated that it will be complying with the order to sell its iPhones in Europe in 2024.
The news arrives from Apple marketing lead Greg Joswiak during an interview with The Wall Street Journal. In the interview, the executive stated that “Obviously we’ll have to comply, we have no choice.” He also added that the brand is not happy being forced to adopt the USB Type C for the iPhone. Joswiak stated that the Lightning port and USB Type C port would never have been invented if Apple had previously switched to micro USB ports. But it seems like the iPhone 15 series might be the first ever smartphone from the brand to make the switch.
The official even said that switching to USB Type C ports from Lightning ports would also lead to a lot of e-waste as well. Despite this, it seems that the iPhone maker is planning on shipping its handsets with the mandatory change by or after 2024. This won’t be the first Apple product to feature the USB-C, since the 10th gen iPad already has it and the brand even uses it for its Mac models as well. So, it was only a matter of time that the brand made the switch.
