Under the hood, the smartphone is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC that is paired with 8GB of RAM and runs on Android 12 OS based ColorOS 12.1. During the Mobile World Congress Las Vegas event, Verizon had announced that it is collaborating with Qualcomm and Razer to launch the world’s first 5G Gaming Handheld device that will be powered on the Android platform.
BREAKING: @Verizon, @Razer and @Qualcomm are teaming up on the world's first 5G mobile gaming handheld—Razer Edge 5G! It will allow you to play your favorite games regardless of whether you are gaming in the cloud, on an app or streaming from your console. https://t.co/TYPw5xFyeFpic.twitter.com/F9Vg3CfABl
The new device is dubbed the Razer Edge 5G, with the 5G branding basically showcasing that players can download games locally and even stream their console access them directly from the cloud over the 5G ultra wideband (Via PhoneArena). As of right now, there is no news regarding support for WiFi, but this quite a key basic feature that should likely make its way on the upcoming handheld device. Otherwise, it would seem like Verizon is restricting networking access to its own service, which could be disastrous for its launch.
Furthermore, the company has announced that this handheld gaming device will run on Android, but the exact version is still unclear. But Verizon has revealed if the Razer Edge 5G that it is building in partnership with the gaming brand and the chipmaking giant, Qualcomm, will be announced during RazerCon. This event is set to kick start on October 15. In other words, the announcement is just a couple of weeks away.
As of right now, the Nintendo Switch is the undeniable leader in the handheld gaming console segment. So it is a difficult market for the new Android handheld gaming device to crack. Although, with three known names in networking, gaming, and chips working together, it has a better chance than most other alternatives out there.
Oppo is expected to launch the Reno 9 series in the coming weeks. A reliable leaker has disclosed the preliminary details of the upcoming smartphones.
The tipster has revealed the battery capacity as well as the charging standard. He has also hinted at the chipsets and a color option.
Oppo Reno 8 Pro
According to Digital Chat Station, the Oppo Reno 9 series will be backed by a 4,500mAh battery. Most importantly, the handsets will carry support for UFCS (Universal Fast Charging Specification). It will be one of the first phones to do so.
For the unaware, UFCS is a new integrated fast charging protocol designed by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, smartphone brands, and chip makers. This new charging standard will be supported by phones from participating companies, in addition to their proprietary solutions like SuperVOOC, SuperCharge, and more.
Further, the leaker says that the Reno 9 series will be powered by Qualcomm 7 series and MediaTek 8000 series chipsets. Lastly, as per him, the phones will be available in a new red color version called ‘Everything Red’.
Unfortunately, that’s all the information we have on the Oppo Reno 9 series. Since the Oppo Reno 7 series debuted at the end of November, we can expect the Reno 9 series to go official at around the same time.
Until then, we are looking forward to learning more about these forthcoming handsets via leaks and certifications.

Jio Phone 5G firmware leak
1 of 5
According to the report, the Jio Phone 5G is codenamed “Ganga” and has the model number “LS1654QB5”. The device is expected to have a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz. The Snapdragon 480 processor, which is Qualcomm’s entry-level 5G SoC, powers the device. This processor will be paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.
The device is also said to have a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The device also has a dual rear camera setup on the back, with a 13MP main camera and a 2MP secondary lens. For optics, it is expected to have an 8MP camera on the front. The operating system will be based on Android 12, and because it is expected to have 4GB of RAM, we can expect the full version of Android OS rather than the Android Go Edition. Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.1, and a Syntiant NDP115 always-on AI processor are also included.
Considering these leaks, the Jio Phone 5G appears to be a decent entry-level 5G device at the Rs 8,000-12,000 price point.
Redmi Pad is confirmed to launch in India. The Xiaomi sub-brand has announced that it will launch its first-ever tablet on October 4th at 12 noon. The announcement tweet does not reveal much info about the upcoming offering apart from giving us a look at the back panel and colour option of the device. The Chinese brand re-entered the tablet market in India earlier this year with the launch of the Xiaomi Pad 5.
𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑹𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝑪𝒉𝒐𝒊𝒄𝒆 for Entertainment, Gaming, E-learning, and Browsing is here. 🤩 The #RedmiPad is launching on the 4th of October, 12 PM!
Xiaomi is also conducting a global launch event on October 4th where it is expected to unveil the Xiaomi 12T series, Redmi Pad, and Redmi Buds 4 Pro. The India launch of the Redmi Pad is earlier than its global counterpart.
Prior to the launch event next week, we already know the key specifications of the Redmi Pad thanks to various leaks and rumours. The device is expected to sport a 10.6-inch display bearing a resolution of 2,000 x 1,200 pixels. It will feature a 90Hz refresh rate, 10-bit colour, and 400 nits brightness. With the Flipkart Big Billion Days sale kicking off a couple of days ago, buyers across India were offered great deals on a number of products. This was especially true for electronic devices. But while some deals were pretty decent, some deals were maybe too good to be true as a buyer almost got scammed for a laptop purchase.
The news arrives from a popular post in LinkedIn. An IIM Ahmedabad student from Delhi, India had ordered a laptop from Flipkart during the Big Billion Days sales. However, rather than getting a notebook PC, the buyer only got detergent soap bars in the box. Furthermore, the buyer, Yashaswi Sharma, also claimed that the Flipkart Customer support also denied them the refund, despite opting for the ‘open box’ delivery option.
Although, in a comment later on, it was confirmed that Flipkart had began the refund process. The open box system is basically eligible for certain products on the e-commerce platform. Through this, buyers can unbox the new package in front of the delivery agent and can accept the delivery if they are satisfied with the item. Sharma stated that the issue occurred since his father collected the package, being unaware of the open box process.
But fortunately, the buyer had a CCTV video that showed that even the delivery agent was not aware of the open box delivery system. However, the company stated that “No return possible. This is our final stance. This matter cannot be escalated further.” But Yashaswi stated that “A relative filed a complaint at the local police station with relevant proofs. The Flipkart team contacted me to inform that a refund has been processed, although I haven’t received it yet.”
vivo launched a new flagship phone for the second half of the year, the vivo V25 Pro about a week ago. It is placed in a segment where the competition has stiffened over the past few weeks, and there are already great phones like the Nothing Phone (1), OnePlus 10R, OPPO Reno8, iQOO Neo 6 in this price segment.
We already compared the V25 Pro to the Nord 2T a few days ago and today, let’s take a closer look at how the vivo flagship fares in front of another OnePus model, the OnePlus 10R. While the OnePlus device started off at a more expensive price tag in India, over the past few months, the device has seen good discounts, making it even cheaper than the V25 Pro.
The vivo model comes with a Dimensity 1300 chip and a good set of cameras, but the OnePlus 10R brings an even better chipset with a similar camera setup.
So let’s take a look at their specifications in detail in this vivo V25 Pro vs OnePlus 10R comparison.
vivo V25 Pro vs OnePlus 10R
Design
Smartphone design will always be a subjective affair. But the two phones in this comparison use different philosophies for their design profile. The vivo model comes with a curvier design that featured curved edges and sides. The phone features a glass back as well. Note that this is Fluorite AG glass that can change colors when exposed to light.
On the other hand, the OnePlus 10R comes with a flatter profile, making it similar to the iPhone design. Also, the OnePlus model comes with a plastic back. Overall, the 10R’s design is way different from OnePlus’ traditional design philosophy.
The vivo V25 Pro features a slighter more compact body with the dimensions 158.9 x 73.5 x 8.6 mm vs the 163.3 x 75.5 x 8.2 mm dimensions of the OnePlus 10R. However, the 10R model is slightly thinner and lighter (186g vs 190g) than the former device.
Overall, your choice would depend upon your preference for a curved or flatter design profile. Go with the OnePlus 10R if you like flat-backed phones or else go with vivo if you prefer a more curved design.
Display
The two phones have similar display panels. However, as you might have figured out from its dimensions, the vivo V25 Pro comes with a slightly smaller display. The phone features a 6.56-inch 1080 x 2376 pixel AMOLED display panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+. On the other hand, the OnePlus 10R comes with a 6.7-inch 1080 x 2412 pixel resolution Fluid AMOLED display, also with 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ certification.
Both displays are pretty good for their price. Therefore, unless you prefer a slightly smaller or a larger panel, the display shouldn’t be a major influencing department.
Specs & Software
If you have been following vivo over the years, you would know that the V series flagship never features the best specs in its price segment. The same is true with the Vivo V25 Pro as well. The phone comes with a Dimensity 1300 chipset, which is a mid-range chip with decent performance. In terms of memory, you can go up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
On the other hand, the OnePlus 10R comes with the faster MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max chip. The processor is pretty good in the mid-range segment and will outperform 1300 in terms of sheer performance and speed. For gaming and resource-intensive tasks, the Dimensity 8100-Max inside the OnePlus 10R would be a better choice.
Similar to the vivo V25 Pro, the OnePlus model comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The vivo V25 Pro features Android 12-based FunTouch 12 OS, while the OnePlus 10R runs on Android 12-based OxygenOS 12.1.
Camera
The vivo V25 Pro features a pretty capable camera setup. This consists of a 64MP f/1.9 primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 2MP macro camera. The selfie camera gets a large 32MP sensor.
On the other hand, the OnePlus 10R comes with a 50MP primary camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, and finally, a 2MP macro camera. As for the selfie shooter, you get a 16MP punch hole lens on the front.
As you might have noticed, the V25 Pro and OnePlus 10R have almost similar secondary camera setups. Only the primary camera is different, but even with this slight difference, the camera quality shouldn’t significantly differ. We’ve seen the OnePlus model capture decent pictures, but they are nothing extraordinary. We can expect similar performance from the vivo model as well, however, only a real-life camera comparison between the two models will reveal if there’s any difference.
Battery
Both have similar battery capacities. The vivo V25 Pro comes with a slightly larger 4830mAh battery on board with fast 66 charging support. On the other hand, the OnePlus 10R (top-end model) features a 4500mAh battery with the same ultra-fast 150W charging technology.
Price
The vivo V25 Pro retails at ₹39,999. On the other hand, the OnePlus 10R is available for a slightly cheaper price tag in India at ₹39,999.
The final purchase decision when it comes to the above two devices will boil down to two main areas – performance and budget.
If you want a mid-range device with a unique design, fast charging, and a good set of cameras, go with the vivo model. On the other hand, if you are looking for a phone that’s cheaper, performs better, and charges extremely fast, it makes sense to get the 150W version of the OnePlus 10R.

Xiaomi is expected to announce the Xiaomi 13 series in November or December this year. Before it arrives, the company’s sub-brand Redmi will unveil at least three Redmi phones, claims tipster Digital Chat Station (via. TechGoing). It looks like the rumored Redmi Note 12 Pro has been approved by the 3C certification platform in China. This means that the phone is about to be released.
A Redmi handset with model number 22101316C has bagged 3C certification. The device is said to have the ‘M16’ codename. Its 3C certification reveals that it may carry support for 67W fast charging.
According to the tipster, apart from the M16, there are two other Redmi phones with “M17” and “M16UP” codenames that are expected to debut before the Xiaomi 13 series. The M17 has the 22101317C model number, while the M16UP has the 22101316UCP. The M17, M16, and M16UP belong to the same series. The tipster added that the M16UP is the most powerful device in the lineup.
Redmi announced the Redmi Note 11, Note 11 Pro, and Note 11 Pro+ in October 2021. Hence, it appears that the brand could be gearing up to launch the Redmi Note 12 series in October this year. There is a possibility that the M17, M16, and M16UP could be the upcoming Redmi Note 12, the Redmi Note 12 Pro, and the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ models. These devices may arrive in time for the Single’s Day (November 11) sale in China.
According to a recent report, the Note 12 lineup will include a 50-megapixel (main) + 8-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 2-megapixel (macro/depth) triple camera unit. The Pro+ edition may carry support for 120W fast charging. It is likely that the Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro+ may come equipped with the Dimensity 1300 chipset.
Earlier this week, Vivo unveiled the Vivo X Fold+ in China. As scheduled, the company’s latest foldable phone has been made available for purchase for the first time in the home market. It is the second foldable smartphone from the company after the original Vivo X Fold, which was announced in April this year in China.
Vivo X Fold+ price
The Vivo X Fold+ has been available on pre-order since its launch. Its 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage and 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage are now available for 9,999 Yuan (~$1,388) and 10,999 Yuan (~$1,527), respectively.
Customers who purchase the X Fold+ until Oct. 7 will receive a free 50W wireless charger and a protective case. The handset comes in three colors: black, blue, and red. It is unclear whether the company has any plans to release the X Fold+ outside China.
Vivo X Fold+ specifications
The Vivo X Fold+ has an 8.03-inch foldable AMOLED LTPO panel that offers 1960 x 2160 pixels resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. On the front, the foldable phone features a 6.53-inch AMOLED cover display that supports 1080 x 2520 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. Both displays are integrated with an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner. It runs on the OriginOS-based Android 12.

In April 2022, Tecno announced the Phantom X smartphone with a premium design. Recent reports have claimed that the company is working on its successor edition called the Phantom X2. While the predecessor model was a 4G device, the X2 is expected to arrive with 5G support. In July, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) certified Tecno phones with model numbers AD8 and AD9. The ECC listings revealed that these devices will debut with the Phantom X2 5G and the Phantom X2 Pro 5G monikers. In a new development, the vanilla model has received approval from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The FCC appearance (via) has revealed key details about the smartphone.
The FCC documents have a schematic of the Phantom X2 5G’s rear shell. As can be seen in the image, it features a massive camera module, which houses at least three cameras and an LED flash unit.
Tecno Phantom X2 5G FCC listing
Of the three cameras, two are quite massive. It appears that the LED flash placed at the bottom-left corner of the camera module could be accompanied by some other sensor, like an autofocus laser unit. The image also confirms that the device will support NFC connectivity.
Tecno Phantom X2 5G FCC listing
The FCC listing also reveals that the Phantom X2 5G is backed by a 5,040mAh (rated value) battery. It appears that the device could be accompanied by a 45W fast charger. Unfortunately, there is no information available on the other specs of the Phantom X2 5G. The FCC listing also confirms support for NFC connectivity.
The Tecno Phantom X2 was certified by Bluetooth SIG at the beginning of this month. It revealed that the device will support Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. Devices are known to debut around a month after appearing in Bluetooth SIG’s database. Hence, it is likely that the Phantom X2 5G may be released at some point in October or in November.
The next-generation flagship phones are expected to launch earlier this year. There have been rumors that the Xiaomi 13 series will debut in November. Some reports have claimed that the OnePlus 11 Pro 5G and the Vivo X90 Pro+ may also break cover before the end of this year. The latest report from the South Korean news outlet ET News says that the Samsung Galaxy S23 series may come out sooner than expected.
Samsung announced the Galaxy S22 lineup in February this year. Hence, it was reported that the S23 series will debut around the same time next year. However, in the past few days, the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra have been certified by the 3C regulatory body in China, which indicates that these devices may debut soon. In addition, recent reports have also revealed the design of the Galaxy S23 series through CAD renders.
According to ET News, the Galaxy S23 series’ early release is a strategy to secure the premium smartphone market share by narrowing the duration between the iPhone 14 lineup, which went official earlier this month. The report claims that Samsung Electronics’ Mobile Experience division has decided to announce the Galaxy S23 lineup earlier than its predecessor. It has even shared a roadmap with its partners. Furthermore, Samsung Electronics has placed orders for Galaxy S23 series components earlier than before.
The South Korean tech giant is yet to decide on a launch date, but rumors are rife that the S23 series may break cover in time for the year-end shopping season. The parts industry is of the view that the Galaxy S23 release date will be set around two to three weeks earlier than the Galaxy S22 lineup.
Recent reports have claimed that the inclusion of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will be the only major upgrade on the Galaxy S23 and S23+. The S23 Ultra will also feature the same chip and will be the company’s first 200-megapixel camera phone. The rest of the specs of the S23 lineup could be identical to its predecessor.
Motorola launched a new lineup of advanced phones in the global market. It is composed of three devices: Motorola Edge 30 Ultra, Motorola Edge 30 Fusion, and Motorola Edge 30 Neo. The first is the most advanced flagship phone from the company alongside the foldable Motorola Razr 2022. The second is a high-end phone but more focused on the quality price ratio. The third is just a mid-ranger, but it comes with very interesting specifications and a very affordable price. Given that they belong to the same lineup, you already understood which one is the most advanced and which is the inferior one. That is the reason why this comparison between the main specifications of the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra, the Motorola Edge 30 Fusion, and the Motorola Edge 30 Neo will just highlight the main differences between the phones of the new trio.

Design
Maybe you will disagree, but in my opinion, the most interesting design is the one belonging to the most affordable variant of the series: the Motorola Edge 30 Neo. First of all, this device is more compact compared to its siblings. Further, it comes with color options characterized by PANTONE colors, thanks to a partnership established with the known brand. You can even find this device in the Very Peri color option, which is considered the color of the year. The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra and the Motorola Edge 30 Fusion remain very beautiful phones with their curved screens, glass backs, aluminum frames, and, unlike the Neo, curved displays at the sides. All of these phones are splash and dust resistant, but they do not come with an IP certification.
Display
If you are looking for the most advanced display, you should go either for the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra or the Motorola Edge 30 Fusion. They are equipped with P-OLED panels able to show up to one billion colors with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a 144 Hz refresh rate, and the HDR10+ certification, and they sport in-display fingerprint scanners. The main differences between these displays are the brightness and the diagonal. The Ultra variant has a 6.67-inch panel with a peak brightness of 1,250 nits, while the Fusion variant has a 6.55-inch panel with a peak brightness of 1,100 nits. The Motorola Edge 30 Neo comes with a good P-OLED display sporting a 6.28-inch diagonal, a Full HD+ resolution, and a 120 Hz refresh rate, but it is not able to compete with its siblings.
Specs & Software
The most advanced hardware department belongs to the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra, currently one of the most powerful devices out there. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The chipset is built at 4 nm and it has an octa-core architecture composed of a Cortex X2 CPU with a max frequency of 3.19 GHz, three Cortex A710 CPUs running at 2.75 GHz, four Cortex A510 running at 1.8 GHz, and an Adreno 730 GPU. The silver medal goes to the Motorola Edge 30 Fusion, still one of the fastest phones, but with an inferior Snapdragon 888+ mobile platform paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 native storage. As already mentioned, the Neo is just a midrange phone with the Snapdragon 695 5G chipset, 8 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of storage in its most advanced configuration. All the phones run Android 12 with a nearly-stock experience.
Camera
The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra is the best camera phone of the trio: it has a triple camera with the world’s first 200 MP sensor including OIS, a 12 MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and a great 50 MP ultrawide camera, as well as an amazing 60 MP selfie snapper. Right after, we got the Fusion with a 50 MP main sensor with OIS, a 13 MP ultrawide lens, a 2 MP depth sensor, and a 32 MP selfie shooter.
The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra has the biggest battery and it provides longer battery life. It even supports the fastest charging technology, with a power of 125W, and 50W wireless charging.
Price
Motorola Edge 30 Ultra starts from €900/$900, Motorola Edge 30 Neo starts from €430/$430, and Motorola Edge 30 Fusion begins at 680€/$680 (prices vary depending on the market). Which one would you pick?
