Further, MIUI 10 stock camera app is out of work and users have to rely on the third party camera apps such as Google camera and OxygenOS camera. There are some bugs in the Alert Slide and Auto rotation feature. The Auto rotation toggle freezes your settings once touched.

Users won’t be able to use apps such as Netflix and Google Pay due to security concerns over unlocked bootloader.

Samsung Galaxy F Bill of Materials estimate shows why it will cost up to $1,800

South Korea-based research firm CGS-CIMB Research gave an account in which it evaluates the Bill of Materials (BOM) for the foldable Galaxy F in comparison with Galaxy S9+ and an iPhone XS Max. One among the expensive item is the display – or should we say “displays”. The Galaxy F will feature one large 7.3” panel that folds down the middle alongside an external 4.58” display. Two batteries will also be included which will not add much to the price (total battery capacity is expected to be around 5,000-6,000mAh).

The BOM works out to around 65% more than the iPhone and the S9+, with the same cost. Analysts have predicted that Samsung will go for a gain margin of 65%, matching Apple, as compared to the 55% of the Galaxy S9+. With this margin, they arrive at a retail price (without carrier subsidies) of $1,800. This is almost an equal match for the rumoured price tag. So expensive though, but the uniqueness of Samsung Galaxy F is that it is one of the upcoming devices with a proper foldable screen.

Analysts project sales of about 3.5 million units of foldable phones coming year, a number that will rise rapidly to 24 million units in the year 2022. The price tags will eventually reduce gradually – the average cost of a foldable phone in 2022 is assumed to be at an average of $1,300. There will be competition to make components for foldable phones too. Samsung Display is one of the top right now, it can produce 1 million foldable screens per year, according to the report. LG Display will accomplish that range in 2020.

Brand cooperation is becoming a growing trend in the mobile phone industry. Huawei has always teamed up with Porsche Design since the launch of the Mate 10 Porsche Design and later the Mate 20 Porsche Design. OPPO also launched a Lamborghini edition of the flagship OPPO Find X. OnePlus joined the bandwagon recently with the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition in Europe and later India.

The OP6T McLaren edition has now been unveiled in China. It comes with a price tag of 4599 yuan ($666) and will go on sale at 10 AM on December 17 via Jingdong (JD.com) and OnePlus’ official website. Notably, the price is lower than that of the European version and even the retail price in India where it was announced for Rs.50,99 ($709). Shipping and import duties may have played a role in the slightly higher price.

The flagship device packs an avalanche of new features which distinguishes it from the regular OnePlus 6T. Top of the pack is 10 GB of RAM + 256GB storage as well as a new super fast rapid charging technology called Warp Charge. The Warp Charge 30 allows the smartphone to gain 50-percent battery juice in just twenty minutes. The retail package of the phone has a 30W charger. Samsung was expected to be the pioneer of the foldable display smartphone and it was believed that the company would be the first to release such a handset. However, a relatively unknown Chinese company called Royole shook the smartphone industry by unveiling a foldable smartphone commercial model in China days before Samsung displayed its own version at the developer conference in San Francisco. Now, the company has also officially listed the processor name on its website as the device goes on sale. Believe it or not, Flexpai is now the first Snapdragon 855-toting smartphone to go on sale. At launch, Royole refrained from naming the processor because the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 was not official at that point. However, it wasn’t a secret that it would have Snapdragon’s latest and greatest chipset because the GPU was known to be the Adreno 640. The FlexPai boasts a 7.8-inch flexible AMOLED panel with a 1920 x 1440 resolution and a 4:3 aspect ratio. It has a camera combo of 16MP + 20MP fueled by a battery of 3800mAh capacity.

Flex Pai comes in three variants – 6 + 128G version is priced at 8999 yuan ($1304), 8 + 256G version is priced at 9998 yuan ($1449), and 8 + 512G version will retail for a whopping 12,999 yuan ($1884). According to officials, FlexPai will be shipping by the end of December 2018.

Realme U1 3GB RAM model to go on open sale in India via Amazon from December 17

Realme U1 was launched in India last month in two variants — 3GB RAM and 4GB RAM. The smartphone, which is the first one under the company’s new selfie-centric U-series, starts at Rs. 11,999 (approximately $167).

After making the phones available for purchase through a flash sale model, the company has now announced that the 3GB RAM model of the Realme U1 will be available for purchase through open sale via Amazon and Realme’s official website from 17th December.

The company has also announced that the next sale for the 4GB RAM model which comes with 64GB internal storage is scheduled for December 19th at 12 noon. Last week, the company had claimed that it sold over 200,000 units of Realme U1 within six minutes in its first sale.

To remind you of the phone’s specifications, it features a 6.3-inch Full HD+ dewdrop display with screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels screen resolution, 90.8 percent screen-t0-body ratio and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The screen offers 450 nits of brightness and 1500:1 contrast ratio.

It is the world’s first smartphone to be powered by MediaTek’s Helio P70 chipset. It is built by TSMC using their 12nm FinFET technology and features Cortex-A73 and Cortex A53 cores in the same 4+4 arrangement, coupled with ARM Mali-G72 GPU.

The highlight of the smartphone is the camera module. It features a dual camera setup on the back, consisting of a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. It comes with AI Photography and AI Beautigy+ features for enhancing the photography experience.

The phone’s camera supports Studio Portrait Lighting, Super Vivid 2.0 and AI Scene Detection as well as slow-motion video recording feature. On the front side, the phone comes equipped with a 25-megapixel Sony IMX576 sensor with f/2.0 aperture. It also supports AI Front Unlock feature that is claimed to unlock the phone in just 0.1 seconds.

As like it appears on the latest teaser where Xiaomi has teased it in a poster with a little picture which looks like a shower. Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 Forbidden City has attracted a lot of positive reviews after launch. It carries 10 GB RAM with 256 GB ROM. A new Xiaomi phone with model number variants such as M1901F7E, M1901F7T and M1901F7C has been certified by 3C authority in China. Since these phones are equipped with 5V/2A charging, it is speculated to arrive as the Redmi 7 smartphone in the coming year.

The 3C listing of a smartphone only confirms the charging rate the smartphone may support. The 10W charging supported by M1901F7E, M1901F7T and M1901F7C models suggests that it could be an affordable smartphone from the company.

In the previous month, Xiaomi M1901F9T and M1901F9E smartphones were approved by 3C. It revealed that these models also carried support for 10W charging. Xiaomi is yet to launch the Redmi Note 6 Pro in China. Hence, it is speculated that M1901F9T and M1901F9E could the Redmi Note 6 Pro variants. In China, the smartphone is expected to launch with Redmi Note 6 moniker just as the predecessor phone was introduced as Redmi Note 5. Just like the international model, the Redmi Note 6 retail package will include a 10W charger. However, the handset may carry support for 18W fast charging.

The newly found M1901F7E, M1901F7T and M1901F7C models are expected to launch after the Redmi Note 6. Hence, it could be one of the phones from the Redmi 7 series which may include phones like Redmi 7, Redmi 7 and Redmi 7 Pro. There is no information available on these phones.

Xiaomi phones that were released in this year had “M18” included in the start of their monikers. The above-mentioned devices have “M19” in their names which indicates that these phones could be heading for a release in the year 2019. Hence, the Redmi Note 6 and Redmi 7 series will be get unleashed in the first quarter of the coming year. These phones are expected to soon appear on TENAA to leak their entire specifications. Since there is no concrete evidence to confirm on the names of the newly certified Xiaomi models, it is advisable to digest the report with a grain of salt.

Honor Band 4 Indian release date is December 24; Will be Amazon Exclusive

Honor India has been teasing on the arrival of the Honor Band 4. However, it is yet to officially confirm on the release date of the fitness date. Fresh information shared by My Smart Price reveals that the first sales of the Honor Band 4 will take place on Dec. 24.

The Honor Band 4 fitness tracker was introduced in India alongside the Honor 8C smartphone in the previous month. The publication claims that it has been revealed through a chat conversation with Amazon India’s customer support that the Honor Band 4 will be releasing in India on Dec. 24. The Band 4 will be exclusively available for purchase through Amazon India from the said date. It is very likely that the Honor India’s official online store will also carry out the sales of the fitness tracker. However, the Chinese manufacturer is yet to officially confirm on the release date of Band 4.

There is no information available on the pricing of the Honor Band 4 for India. The fitness band from Honor will be rivaling with Xiaomi’s Mi Band 3 that is now available with a price tag of Rs. 1,999 (~$28) in India. The Honor Band 4 was introduced in China in September with a price tag of 199 Yuan (~$28.86). There is a possibility that the Band 4 could be priced at Rs. 1,999 in India.

The Band 4 is equipped with 0.95-inch AMOLED touchscreen color display which is shielded by 2.5D curved glass. Apple coming with a new update in China to lift the court ban on old iPhones sales

It’s been a couple of days since the court in China has banned the sale of old iPhones. It is a case that is a part of the global dispute between both the Apple and Qualcomm. In China, Qualcomm has accused Apple that their old iPhones use some software animations or features which infringe on their patents. In order to overcome this scenario in China, the Cupertino giant is now set to push a new update to old iPhones starting early next week.

In order make it compliant with court’s order, iPhones will be getting some overhaul in the design and functioning of some apps. In a statement to Reuters, Apple said, “to address any possible concern about our compliance with the order”, they will provide an update to all the infringed devices.

In detail, a Chinese court has ordered Apple to ban sales of some Apple iPhones which are violating the two Qualcomm patents. The case can be considered as a part of the global dispute between both the companies. There are more than a dozen lawsuits around the globe that both the companies are meddling with each other. Particularly, Qualcomm argued that Apple infringed patents on features related to resizing photographs and managing apps on a touchscreen.

Well, whatever the thing is, the new order from the court has the potential to disrupt Apple’s business in China. In response, Apple is saying that “Based on the iPhone models we offer today in China, we believe we are in compliance,” and “Early next week we will deliver a software update for iPhone users in China addressing the minor functionality of the two patents at issue in the case.”

BLU, a smartphone brand that manufactures budget devices, has launched its latest smartphone — BLU Vivo Go. The phone, priced at $79.99 in the US, is currently available for purchase at $59.99. The device is sold unlocked and is compatible with GSM carriers like AT&T and T-Mobile.

The phone is available in only one color — Black and ships with a free case, screen protector, charger, and earbuds. It is also the first Go Edition smartphone to run the latest version of the Android mobile operating system — Android 9 Pie which is built to smoothly run on entry-level smartphones.

The BLU Vivo Go features a 6-inch HD+ display with 720 x 1440 pixels screen resolution, curved glass screen, and a taller 18:9 aspect ratio. The big screen for such entry-level phone ensures a good media consumption experience.

Xiaomi as a smartphone manufacturer is quite popular all around the world. Lenovo Z5s teaser hints 10 GB RAM; Official video commercial promises superior performance

Since the past few days, Lenovo has been consistently teasing on the features of the Lenovo Z5s that will be going official on Dec. 17. Earlier today, Lenovo Group VP Chang Cheng shared new information on the Lenovo Z5s smartphone. The Chinese text on the new teaser suggest that the phone could be equipped more than 8 GB of RAM. Hence, netizens are now speculating whether the Lenovo Z5s will be featuring 10 GB of RAM.

The below teaser which hints 10 GB of RAM for the Lenovo Z5s has an image of Formula 1 racing car. This indicates that the smartphone will deliver speedy performance. Rumors have claimed that like the Lenovo Z5 Pro, the upcoming Lenovo Z5s will be also featuring Snapdragon 710. However, using 10 GB of RAM with Snapdragon 710 does not sound like a powerful combination. Hence, it is now speculated that the Lenovo Z5s could be powered by Snapdragon 845 chipset. HTC U12+ completely vanished from official website and stores in China

HTC is already struggling to find someplace in today’s market, even it is reeling under bad financial conditions. The Taiwanese giant seems to have pulled down its latest flagship HTC U12+ from the Chinese store. Not only on the official self-operated online store, even from the Tmall it has been taken down. HTC’s official Chinese website is showing HTC U 11 and U11+ as in stock while its successor has been labelled as “out of stock”. Currently, the reason is unknown and we are expecting an official response from the HTC side on the whole scenario.

Well, it can be some technical glitch or some other problem due to which HTC might be unable to cater HTC U12+ to buyers. Although we can only speculate right now, we have to wait for the official response from the HTC side.

Additionally, HTC U12+ carries Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 on board with 6GB LPDDR4X RAM coupled with 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. It is IP68 waterproof and dustproof with built-in 3500 mAh battery. In order to charge this huge battery module, HTC has added a fast charging QC 3.0 with the rear fingerprint sensor. It even supports facial recognition and other authentication methods.

In the camera section, HTC U12+ hosts a 12 megapixel + 16-megapixel dual rear camera. Out of these dual shooters, there’s a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera along with the 16-megapixel telephoto lens.

HTC U12+ is also known for its intuitive UI which is based on Edge Sense 2.0. It carries a variety of gestures and other useful features which makes it different from other UIs. Even though its Edge launcher offers a lot of impressive features. It carries smart sleep, smart steering and other grip gestures.
