In the latest report from the Wall Street Journal, it is believed that the Trump administration could hike up tariffs on smartphones and mobiles made in China. It is highly likely that the increase in tariffs from 10-25% will take place from January 1st. It would impact all the companies who have their manufacturing hubs in China. Even, it’s own Cupertino giant will reel under this new hike as Trump added that it might include Apple’s premium iPhone product lineup also.

Well, reacting to these developments, Apple’s stocks crashed about 1.6 % on Monday. The Cupertino giant is already reeling from huge competition and a decline in sales; this will add up more uncertainty in the investor’s minds. Exactly, the president said, “Maybe. Maybe. Depends on what the rate is, I mean, I can make it 10%, and people could stand that very easily.”

The new US sanctions will affect the trade worth $200 billion of goods from China. All the mobile and laptop companies who are manufacturing products in China will have to pay 10-25% tariffs if they export their products to the US. Majorly, it is a huge setback for Apple. Until now Apple is exempted from any tariffs. The exemptions were made as several parts used in Apple products were manufactured in the US.

This latest development has made it clear that Trump is eager to get all the production back in the States. He has already recommended that the companies which are “running to China” should “build factories in the United States and to make the product here.”

Economists are terming this decision a bad one as it will slow down the US economy. If we go with either way i.e. opening factories in the US and increasing the import tariffs on items, both the roads are leading to the economy slow down.

Realme U1 variants, color options, and pricing information leaks ahead of launch tomorrow

Realme has scheduled a launch event tomorrow, i.e. on 28th November to unveil its new Realme U1 selfie-centric smartphone — the first one under its new U-series. Now, ahead of the phone’s launch, all the information related to the device has been leaked online, including specifications, variants, color options, and pricing.

As per the leak, the upcoming Realme U1 will be available in two memory configurations — 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage. The phone will be available in three color options — Ambitious Black, Brave Blue, and Fiery Gold.

As for the pricing, the 3GB RAM model will be priced at Rs. 11,999 which roughly converts to $169 while the 4GB RAM model will cost Rs. 14,999, which is roughly about $212. Being the selfie-centric phone in this price range, it’ll be up against the likes of Xioami Redmi Y2.

Realme has already confirmed that the Realme U1 will come with “the most powerful selfie camera ever”. It is also confirmed to be powered by MediaTek Helio P70 12nm octa-core processor. The phone’s landing page on Amazon India reveals that it will feature a high-resolution depth engine, faster multi-frame noise reduction shot, anti-blooming engine, and accurate AI detection.

Latest leak reveals that the phone will come with a 25-megapixel front-facing camera with Sony IMX576 sensor and f/2.0 aperture. On the back side, there will be a dual camera setup consisting of a 13-megapixel sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.4 aperture.

According to the rumors, the phone could feature a 6-inch display with Full HD+ screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. With dewdrop notch, we are expecting a screen-to-body ratio of over 90 percent. The display will be protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top.

Connectivity options on the device include Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.2, and GPS. As for the software, the phone will come with Android 8.1 Oreo with ColorOS 5.1 on top. The phone is expected to be powered by a 3,400mAh battery.

After launching the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL flagship smartphones a few months ago, Google is now all set to launch “a simplified version of the Pixel 3” dubbed Pixel 3 Lite.

While we have already seen a few images of the Pixel 3 Lite, latest being a bunch of photos comparing the upcoming smartphone with other phones, including the Pixel 3-series and the Apple iPhone X.

Now, the latest information is related to the phone’s specifications. The Google Pixel 3 Lite is believed to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 670 octa-core processor. The 10nm chipset features Kryo 360 cores and Adreno 615 GPU.

The phone will pack 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There will be no microSD card slot, so you’ll have to make do with just 32GB of onboard storage. However, we are expecting a couple of variants of the phone with different memory configuration.

The most interesting piece of news related to the Pixel 3 Lite is the camera configuration. As per the report, the phone will come with the same camera module as the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. It will feature a 12-megapixel single rear camera with LED flash. On the front side, there will be an 8-megapixel camera for taking selfies and video calling.

Previous reports have suggested that the phone will feature a 5.56-inch display with a 2220 x 1080 pixels screen resolution. It will come with an LCD display instead of the OLED and there won’t be any kind of notch on top of the display. It will also come with a 3.5mm headphone jack and will be powered by a 2,915mAh battery.

While the Pixel 3 Lite is expected to have the same design as the Pixel 3, the phone will be made of plastic instead of the glass back body that we’ve seen on the Pixel 3 series. Another Pixel device with codename ‘Bonito’ has been revealed by ARCore APK insights, which could be the one powered by Snapdragon 710 chipset.

The Google Pixel 3 Lite is expected to be priced between $400 to $500, which is significantly cheaper compared to the Pixel 3 and 3 XL. According to the reports, Google is targeting developing markets for the Pixel 3 Lite, with India at the forefront.

Earlier this year, in August, Meizu launched its flagship devices dubbed Meizu 16 and Meizu 16 Plus. Now, the company seems to be all set to launch another flagship smartphone — Meizu 16S. Just like the name, the phone is also expected to feature the same design as the Meizu 16th.

However, a sketched render of the upcoming smartphone has been leaked online, which showcases the features of the phone. The leaked image shows that the phone will come with an in-display fingerprint sensor. This is not surprising given that the Meizu 16-series already features such sensor.

With more and more smartphone manufacturers trying to offer higher screen-to-body ratio, Meizu has also jumped onto the bandwagon. The render of the Meizu 16S shows the phone having a full-screen display with almost no bezels surrounding it. Surprisingly, there’s no notch of any kind on top of the display.

Coming to the back side, the phone features a triple camera setup with sensors lined-up vertically in the top-center position. Below the camera sensor is the usual Meizu’s iconic ring-shaped LED flash. A previous leak of the phone showcased that it will come with a USB Type-C port at the bottom flanked by a speaker grille and a 3.5mm audio jack.

As for the specifications, the smartphone could be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship chipset — Snapdragon 8150 which is said to have been manufactured using the 7nm design process. The chipset will be coupled with 8GB of RAM. There’s also a possibility that the Chinese company could add support for wireless charging.

The upcoming and never confirmed device, Pixel 3 Lite has leaked in comparison photos against various iPhones and original Pixel device. Lenovo has recently launched Z5 Pro in China, following it, the Chinese company is preparing to launch another device. Namely, Lenovo Z5s is in news and has already appeared at TENAA a couple of days ago, and now it has surfaced on 3C and MIIT. The Lenovo’s triple camera device (L78071) carries some high-end specs and is slated for launch in the upcoming few weeks. Today, Lenovo Z5s has appeared on the 3C and MIIT, Chinese certification portals.

Already, there’s plenty of information about the device, that has been stacked up as Lenovo Z20 Pro, but now it seems to be named as Lenovo Z5s. As per the latest listings, it has revealed that the new device will carry a triple camera module on the rear side. It could be the first device to get Snapdragon 8150 access onboard. It is expected to arrive on December 4th, just up next month.

Now we are waiting for some official teasers and confirmation about the device. A couple of days ago, the same device bearing model number L78071 has been spotted at TENAA. At that time we came to know about its design for the first time. It carries triple camera setup with LED flash and a fingerprint scanner on the rear side. In the image, we can see a couple of cameras are integrated into the same module, while the third one is left out.

Other than that we are expecting to see its 6.3-inch display having dimensions of 156.7×74.5×7.8(mm). It carries 3210 mAh battery capacity.

The flagship device is touted to carry Qualcomm Snapdragon 8150 chipset. Many leaks and rumors are pointing towards the usage of the latest aka upcoming Qualcomm chipset. Recent reports have revealed that Samsung is planning to revamp its mid-range series of smartphones. It is soon expected to release the all new Galaxy M lineup to replace its exciting Galaxy J, Galaxy On and Galaxy C phones. The company is reportedly working on Galaxy M phones with model numbers like SM-M205F and SM-M305F. Also, in order to cut down on the cost, it is expected to use LCD panels instead of AMOLED on its upcoming Galaxy A series of smartphones. A fresh report on SamMobile has revealed newer information on upcoming Galaxy A and Galaxy M phones.

Samsung is reportedly working on newer Galaxy A phones with model numbers like SM-A305F and SM-A505F. The latter will be a higher model with storage choices such as 64 GB and 128 GB. It is expected to be available in colors like black, white, silver, blue and pink. The SM-A305F will be a lower phone than SM-A505F since it is expected to arrive in 32 GB and 64 GB storage models. It may come in colors like black, white, blue and red.

Apart from SM-M205F and SM-M305F models, the South Korean firm is also speculated to be working on a cheaper phone with model number SM-M105F. It is tipped to arrive in 16 GB and 32 GB storage sizes. All the existing Galaxy M models are expected in Blue and Dark Grey options. The Samsung M series of smartphones is rumored to be aimed towards emerging markets.

Huawei Nova 4 live shot leaked to reveal in-screen camera hole design

Through a teaser that was released yesterday, Huawei had confirmed that it would be launching a new smartphone in the coming month. The teaser image of the phone suggested that it may sport an in-screen camera hole. Multiple tipsters from China are of the view that the company will be launching the Huawei Nova 4 with in-screen camera hole design in December. A mysterious Huawei smartphone has been spotted in the hands of a person traveling in a bus. Since the phone features a hole in the display, it is speculated that it could be the upcoming Nova 4 smartphone.

Since the alleged Huawei Nova 4 is covered in a protective cover, it’s exact design cannot be clearly seen. Probably, the screen of the phone is surrounded by slim bezels. It may sport a slightly thick sized chin. It is equipped with a 3.5mm audio jack. The specs of the phone are not known yet. It is speculated to be field by Kirin 980 chipset.

Nokia 9 case listed on Amazon suggesting launch may be imminent

Nokia 9 with its Penta camera setup has been making the rounds in the rumour mills for a while now. The renders of the device have equally been spotted online severally. Interestingly, the suppose Nokia 9 case has now been listed on Amazon UK by case maker UniqueMe.

While this isn’t the first case of the device that is making the round, it happens to be the first to appear in a traceable store since the source of the first online store listing was unknown. The case is described as a TPU case with ultra-thin and lightweight design that offers maximum protection. It equally has more than five openings meant to accommodate the 5 camera sensors and an LED flash. The case notably doesn’t have an opening for a rear fingerprint sensor and that could be attributed to the likely presence of an in-display fingerprint sensor as rumoured. The bottom end seems to have an opening for a USB type-C port which is expected anyway. We can’t say for sure if there will be a 3.5mm audio jack at the other end but previous renders suggest the absence of one.

The Amazon listing schedules the case to be in stock on December 1 but it is unlikely that the phone will be launched that soon. However, Nokia may spring up a surprise by launching the model before the year runs out. For now, the Nokia 9 release date is still a mystery.
