UPDATE: The deal still seems to be available (at $279.99), so do check out the page in case you are interested in buying the phone.
Lenovo backed ZUK Z1 first was launched in China and now is available internationally. The phone usually retails for around $300, but for a limited period today, Aliexpress is offering the smartphone for just $279.99. What’s more this is for the 64GB version of the smartphone making the deal all the more sweet. You also get 2 year warranty on the device.
We think this is a great deal for anyone looking for a powerful flagship under $300. The phone features the Snapdragon 801 chipset with 3GB of RAM and a large 64GB of storage. There’s a large 4100mAh battery as well, which makes sure that the phone will last for more than a day. As for the display, its a 5.5-inch panel with FHD 1080p resolution. At the back, there’s a 13MP shooter while up front, you have a 5MP camera. The phone supports 4G LTE networks with supported bands that include: FDD-LTE 1800/2100/2600MHz.
Overall a great device for just $279.99. Remember this is a limited period offer, so you better grab the deal as soon as possible. There’s only around 1000 units available at this discounted price tag, and within minutes of the deal, around 150 units have already been sold.
We are all excited for the upcoming OnePlus X handset, a cheaper version of its elder brother, the OnePlus 2. The company will officially release the device on October 29, which is just a couple of days away. We have already heard a lot about the upcoming handset, thanks to the leaks and TENAA listing of the device, but now, it looks like the pricing of the OnePlus X has been leaked before launch.
According to the latest leaked image, the OnePlus X will be reportedly priced at 1699 Yuan which comes to around $268. While this is higher than the $249 figure that our sources revealed, its still close to the previous rumors. But if the price tag is really this high, then things could get confusing for the customers.
The OnePlus 2 is priced at $329 for the 16GB version which isn’t too far from the $268 rumored price tag. So, if the OnePlus X is less powerful than the OnePlus 2, then its possible that customers would prefer shelling out a bit more ( around $60) for the latter which is much more powerful. So, we will have to wait and see i the pricing is indeed $268 or whether its $249 as previously predicted.
As for the specs, the OnePlus X will feature an overclocked Snapdragon 801 chipset with 3GB RAM, 16GB ROM, 5-inch 1080p display with 2.5D glass and metal frame. At the back, you can expect a 13MP shooter, while up front, there should be a 5MP shooter. As for the software, you will see Oxygen OS running on Android 5.1.1. We expect to see a white colored version of the OnePlus X as well.
Well, the OnePlus X can turn out to be a great device for those looking for a compact phone (5-inch display). Lets see whether the pricing is as high as leaked today.
Security is becoming an important standard in the heating competition among smartphones. Fingerprint ID sensor is an emerging technology that only a select number manufacturers have added on their handsets. Elite 1, a flagship launched by LEAGOO recently, sports this advancing technology.
Elite 1, a high-end device featuring fingerprint ID function, is equipped with push-fingerprint identification module and Finger Flash™ technology. Press the home button, the stainless steel ring reacts before the scanner below the sapphire glass coverplate is awaken. Then a scanning resolution of 508PPI ensures the fingerprint gain access within 0.5s even by a damp finger.
In an era when smartphone plays a multiple role more than as a communicational tool, this technology which brings an easier unlock impacts a profound significance on the security and privacy of customers. The secret of fast but accurate fingerprint relies on module code encrypted by Tiny Encryption Algorithm (TEA) and the AES 128 algorithm stored on the flash chip. Thus multi protection and omnidirectional recognition is realized.
When it comes to other specs, you get a 5.0-inch JDI display made of corning gorilla glass. The screen ensures 1920 * 1080 full-HD resolution and 1000: 1 high contrast ratio. The 64bits true Octa core processor is built on eight 28nm Cortex-A53 architecture processing cores. 4G network, new Android 5.1 system and 3GB + 32GB eMMC large memory is supported.

According to the latest information, UMi Iron Pro will come in a brand new color, and its none other than Rose Gold that has become quite a trend in the industry. Even UMi is supposed to join the party as the report claims that the UMi Iron Pro will also have a Rose Gold edition. This will be a great color option for those who would like something in Rose Gold for a much cheaper price tag.
As for the other specs, the UMi Iron Pro will reportedly come with the octa-core MT6753 chip with 3GB RAM and 16GB of storage. The front will feature a 5.5- FHD display as its predecessor. There will be three different security options like fingerprint recognition, voice unlock and finally, EyePrint ID. The phone will also come with the new USB Type-C port replacing the old MicroUSB 2.0.
Looks like a decent device in the making. The Rose Gold color option is definitely an added plus. We will keep you guys updated with more features in the coming days.
Elephone has just confirmed to us that both Elephone P8000 and Elephone P6000 Pro will be getting Android 6.0. Both these devices were announced a few months back, so its not surprising to see them getting the latest Android version. Also, there are other smartphones being tested for Android M but at the moment, we are not sure which other models will be upgraded. Also, we still don’t know when exactly these updates will roll out to the respective smartphones.
The company also confirms that its upcoming flagship, Elephone P9000 along with its variants like the Elephone P9000 Lite and P9000C will come with Android M 6.0 pre-installed. This is definitely good news for those who were planning to purchase this upcoming device from the company.
As for the P8000 users who are running Android 5.10 at the moment, the company has released a new update for fixing a few bugs like “screen flashing” and “no gallery response” while using front camera. If you had these problems, just head over to their forums, where there’s the download link to the ROM and flash it on to your device. There will be an OTA update too, so if you can wait for a few days, then go for the second option.
Lenovo backed ZUK announced its first smartphone a few months back. The ZUK Z1 is now available both in China as well as internationally and is one of the few flagship smartphones that can boast of a battery that’s bigger than 4000mAh. While this will definitely offer better battery life as compared to its rivals, the company has just released some more details about the phone’s technology which improves its life.
The ZUK Z1 reportedly comes with a special chip inside which helps increase the age of its battery. To help you understand how this chip increases its life, we would first have to know how normal smartphones work during charging.
In case of a regular smartphone, when the battery inside is fully charged and yet is being kept on charging, the internal mechanism of the phone shuts off the direct charging automatically. This means that after getting fully charged, the phone will start using its own battery even when a charging cable is connected. Now, when the battery is again discharged to a certain level, the charging process starts to kick in.
This process continues as long as the charger is connected to the phone. This charging – discharging process ages the battery, which means you may not get as much battery life like you did at the start, after a few months.
On the other hand, the ZUK Z1 reportedly comes with a special chip to solve this problem. Once the phone is fully charged, instead of shutting off the external power supply, the phone’s chip makes sure that it starts using the power supplied by the charger. So, there’s no constant charge – discharge going on which helps improve the age of the battery to a certain level.
While this may not be a revolutionary feature, still its good to know that such a chip helps the Z1’s battery to age slower. Further, the 4100mAh battery should provide pretty good battery backup (more than a day easily). Also, the ability of charging at 5V 2A means that the phone charges quickly as well.
Have any of you bought the device? What do you think about the phone’s battery?

A few months back, Hugo Barra had hinted that Xiaomi was planning to enter the US market. However at that time, he didn’t give out any time frame for a launch in the country.
Now, Xiaomi’s president Lin Bin revealed while talking at the WSJDLive Show that the company may enter the US market with its Mi Note and Mi Note Pro range of smartphones. However, once again he failed to give out an exact time frame for the launch.
Getting into an established market like US won’t be easy. First of all, companies like Apple and Samsung already have a huge chunk of market share in the country and even with its aggressive pricing, it will be quite hard for Xiaomi to gain some momentum in the market. Moreover, there’s another big issue that the company may face — Patent Licensing. Xiaomi had faced this problem when it first entered the Indian market when Ericsson sued the company for not licensing their wireless patents for phones sold in the country. Xiaomi could face the same problem in US, which is why it will first have to strengthen its patent portfolio before it makes the jump into the US market.
Xiaomi has released a lot of quality products in the past few years and once it enters US, customers will have yet another choice when buying a smartphone that won’t empty their pockets. Moreover, it also has a wide range of products under its belt like the Mi TV, Ninebot self-balancing scooter, Air Purifier etc which could be potentially sold in the country.
Anyways, we will keep you guys updated with more information pretty soon. So stay tuned.
Earlier today, Li Xiaolu, a famous Chinese Actress revealed some images of a new smartphone which looked like the new LeTV 1S. To make things even more interesting, the official LeTV Weibo account reposted those images, which probably means that the phone is indeed the upcoming LeTV 1S model.
From the images, it looks like the new model will feature thinner bezels and a smaller form factor. The image shows that the person could hold the smartphone pretty easily with one hand which means you can expect the size to be between 5-5.5 inches. The screen to body ratio looks amazing and the phone continues with the all metal design that was introduced by its previous generation models.
As for the other specs, the LeTV 1S is expected to come with a better resolution display, most like 2K along with a superior camera and a faster fingerprint sensor.
The pricing is said to be competitive, somewhere around 2000 Yuan to compete with the likes of Huawei and Meizu. As for the release, LeTV has an event on October 27, where we will officially see the LeTV 1S.
VKWorld has been quite busy the past few months, releasing a number of interesting smartphones such as the VKWorld VK700 and VK700 Pro. Now, the latest news is that the company is working on a cheap smartphone, called as the VKWorld VK700X. The phone is supposed to be super cheap, costing just about $59.99 but with specs that are quite good for this price tag.

Looks wise, from the pictures that we have come across, the VK700X seems to be well made with multiple color options like Noble Black, Diamond White and Dazzle Golden. The phone looks quite good for a $60 device with CNC metal frame and 6.9mm thin body. But we will have to reserve our judgement on the looks after we have handled the device ourselves.

As for the specs, the phone features the MT6580a quad-core chipset clocked at 1.5GHz, with 1GB RAM and 8GB of storage. This is further expandable up to 64GB via MicroSD. There’s a 5-inch display with 720p resolution, which is quite impressive given the price tag. At the back, there’s an 8MP OV camera while up front, there will be a 5MP shooter. One of the highlights of the device is the support Android 5.1 Lollipop OS.
As you can see, the phone looks pretty good, the specs are impressive as well and the best part is that it costs just $59.99. These specs make the phone a great package for such a cheap price tag. The phone be announced sometime in October, which means we should see the launch in the next couple of weeks.
Xiaomi announced the new version of its OS, the MIUI 7 back in August. Immediately, the developer versions of the OS were available to download to the users. Now, after nearly two months of testing and optimization, the stable versions of MIUI 7 will start rolling out from October 27. This means, you will soon start getting notifications for an update to the latest MIUI 7 version.

The company is offering two options to its users to install the new UI update. You can either wait for the notification to hit your devices and update your phone to MIUI 7 via OTA update. Or else, you can go to the MIUI Downloads page and manually download the ROM package for your device. The ROM builds will be available to download on the same date as it starts rolling out to smartphones.
In case you are wondering which phones will get the MIUI 7 update, the company will release more information in the coming days.
