Snap has announced that the company is rolling out its subscription plan costing $3.99 per month for the social media platform Snapchat. The service, which is called Snapchat+, gives access to some exclusive and pre-release features.
The development comes at a time when the company’s primary source of revenue have been impacted and the company has given a disappointing sales outlook for the current quarter a couple of months back.
Although the new subscription service is a part of the company’s strategy of a new revenue stream, Jacob Andreou, Snapchat’s senior vice president of products doesn’t expect it to become the primary revenue source for the company.
Currenlty, Snapchat+ includes pre-release, experimental and exclusive features such as pining close friend as a BFF and customizing the app’s icon. The company says that it is intended for the “most passionate members” of Snapchat.
It is now available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
There are other social media platforms that have introduced subscription services. Last year, Twitter announced the Blue subscription for ad-free access to the platform, costing $2.99 per month. Recently, Telegram introduced a new Telegram Premium service.
The Nothing Phone (1) puzzle has started to unfold faster than we expected. The specifications of the smartphone are already out and its Indian pricing also got leaked recently. Today, a popular tipster has leaked the European prices of the Phone (1).
Tipster Mukul Sharma has revealed the European price details of the Nothing Phone (1) through a tweet. The tipster has shared a few screenshots of the phone’s Amazon page to corroborate his claims. The screenshots confirm that the smartphone will be available in Black and White color options and have three different configurations to choose from.
Nothing Phone (1) + Nothing Ear (1) bundle 8+128GB: €469.99 (Rs 38,773.90) 8+256GB: €499.99 (Rs 41,249.56) 12+256GB: €549.99 (Rs 45,378.57) Do note that the Indian pricing is likely to be lower than this.#Nothing#NothingPhone1pic.twitter.com/iBKfYmr043
The tipster claims that the Nothing Phone (1) price in Europe will start at €469.99 (~$492) for the base 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The smartphone would also come in an 8GB + 256GB variant priced at €499.99 (roughly $522) and a max 12GB + 256GB with a price tag of €549.99 ($574).
As per the leak, the smartphone will also be available as a bundled purchase (Nothing Phone 1 + Nothing Ear 1). The Ear 1 will cost an additional €97.
Given that the Nothing Phone (1) is a solid mid-range smartphone, the prices are quite competitive. The prices will be different in other regions. For example, it will be comparatively lower in India. Previous reports have suggested that Phone (1)’s price will start from INR31,000 (roughly $393) in India.
Nothing Phone (1) is rumored to go on sale in global markets two weeks after the July launch. However, Indian folks would get their hands on the phone before the global launch. The pre-order pass details and invite codes have already started to circulate in the country.
Nothing’s debut phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 778+ processor. It will likely have a 50-megapixel primary camera. The smartphone is expected to flaunt a 6.55-inch OLED display with support for a 120Hz refresh rate. Head over here for detailed specifications.
While we have already reported on Motorola gearing up to launch a new mid range smartphone called Moto G42 in India, a new report has revealed that the company also has two other models planned for the region as well.
Moto G62 5G
According to known tipster Mukul Sharma, the brand plans on releasing the Moto G62 5G model in India as well as a flagship model that features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The former has already been available in certain other markets and will finally be making its way to the Indian market. On the other hand, not much is known about the mysterious premium grade handset, although, it might be the Motorola Frontier model.
There is also a possibility that the company renames the smartphone in India. Since the Moto G62 5G is already available in other regions, we know of its exact specifications. It sports a 6.5 inch IPS LCD panel that has a FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it is equipped with a Snapdragon 480+ processor that is paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage that can be further expanded.
Motorola Frontier
On the rear, the smartphone feature a triple camera setup that consists of a 50 megapixel primary, 8 megapixel ultra wide angle, and a 2 megapixel macro sensor. Meanwhile, the front houses a 16 megapixel selfie shooter. Other features include, Android 12 OS, 5,000mAh battery pack that supports 20W fast charging, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Xiaomi has scheduled an event for July 4 in China. The conference is meant for the announcement of the Xiaomi 12S series. However, these smartphones won’t be the only products at the event. So far, the company has confirmed the debut of two more products (other than phones) and one of them is the Xiaomi Band 7 Pro.
Earlier today, the official Weibo account of Xiaomi Smart Ecosystem revealed that the firm will launch the Xiaomi Band 7 Pro on July 4 in China. In other words, the wearable will be announced alongside the Xiaomi 12S series.
The firm hasn’t revealed the features of the fitness tracker as of yet. But it has disclosed the product’s entire design via a short video.
As per the video, the Xiaomi Band 7 Pro will be the first Mi Band (Xiaomi Band) with a large rectangular display. Unlike the Redmi Band Pro, which has a similar design, this one looks more premium.
Unfortunately, we don’t have anything more to say about this fitness tracker at the moment. But if the rumors are to be believed, the Xiaomi Band 7 Pro could be a rebranded version of the recently leaked mysterious Amazfit Band.
In that case, the wearable may arrive with features like a screen sporting a resolution of 194 x 368 pixels, GPS, NFC, and a 232mAh battery. As far as price is concerned, it may retail at around ¥499 since the Xiaomi Band 7 NFC costs ¥299.

According to a previous report, there won’t be a Reno 8 Pro+ model in India, rather, this model will launch in India as the rebadged Reno 8 Pro.
Reno 8 Pro
Keep in mind that this is still an unconfirmed leak and is not official as of right now. There were other rumors that hinted at the Reno 8 series launching in India on 18th July 2022 as well. So take this news with a pinch of salt for now, and stick around for more updates regarding this matter.

We already know that the Phone (1) will have LED lights called “Glyph Interface” on the back which sets it apart from the rest of the Android pack. The handset is tipped to run NothingOS based on Android 12. NothingOS is said to offer a clean and minimalist UI.

The Global Smartphone Market sales continue to suffer. The sales dropped 4% Month on Month (MoM) and 10% Year on Year (YoY) in May 2022 according to a report. May was the second consecutive month of MoM decline and the 11th consecutive month of YoY decline in sales. The decline is caused due to various factors but inflation, China’s slowdown, and the Ukraine crisis are said to be the prime culprit.
Global Smartphone shipments dropped to 96 million units in May 2022, according to the latest report by market research firm Counterpoint. This is the first time since the first and second quarters of the pandemic hit 2020 that monthly smartphone sales have been below 100 million.
The continued decline is caused due to various factors including but not limited to inflation, China’s lowdown, and the Ukraine crisis. Inflation is causing consumers to stick to their phones and avoid unnecessary purchases.

“The demand for a smartphone especially in the advanced economies is driven by replacement, which makes it a discretionary purchase. And inflationary pressures are leading to pessimistic consumer sentiment around the globe with people postponing non-essential purchases, including smartphones,” said research director Tarun Pathak. “The strengthening US dollar is also hurting emerging economies. A segment of consumers is likely to wait for seasonal promotions before purchasing to offset some of the cost pressures,” Pathak added.
The smartphone market is also severely affected by the lockdown in China and Ukraine crisis. China’s lockdown has been hurting domestic demand and hampering the global supply chain. The Ukraine war has caused the demand to decline in Eastern Europe, says the report.
According to the Counterpoint macro index, the Global smartphone will likely continue bleeding throughout the summer. However, the market is expected to bounce back during H2, mainly due to an improved situation in China and an improvement in the supply-demand balance in the tech supply chain.

A previous report revealed that the camera setup includes a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 2-megapixel macro/depth camera. It is expected to arrive in two colors: silver and grey. Now that the device has been TENAA certified, it is likely to break cover as early as next month (July) in China.
The rumor mill has revealed a lot of key information about the iQOO 10 series of smartphones, which are expected to debut in July. A new device with model number V2218A has surfaced in the database of the TENAA authority in China. Based on recent reports, it can be said that the V2218A will debut on the market as the iQOO 10 Pro.
Unfortunately, the images of the iQOO 10 Pro have not appeared in the TENAA listing. However, recently seen leaked renders of the iQOO 10 have revealed that it will be sporting a dual-tone design. The Pro model is expected to sport a similar dual-tone design. Its front could feature a punch-hole display with curved edges.

Samsung is gearing up to launch the next-generation foldable smartphone but the South Korean giant is also working on the upcoming Galaxy S-series flagship phones, details of which have leaked online multiple times.
Now, if the latest report is to be believed, then the telephoto camera sensor on the Samsung Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus’ camera module won’t be upgraded.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Concept Render by Technizo Concept
As per the report, the Samsung Galaxy S23 series will keep using the same 10-megapixel telephoto sensor that is found in the Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus smartphones. It is not yet known what it will be for the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
It remains to be seen if the unchanged camera sensor is limited to the telephoto lens or if the entire back camera setup remains the same. The information available so far is unconfirmed, so even if it’s true for now, it can be changed given that the S23 series launch is still months away.
Both the Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus are expected to come with an upgraded front-facing camera. This time, the flagship smartphones will feature a 12-megapixel snapper for taking selfies and video calling.
Although the exact launch date for the next-generation Samsung Galaxy S-series smartphones has not been revealed, the devices could get launched in the month of January or February, based on the company’s track record.
This month Tecno released two great affordable phones: the Tecno Spark 9T and the Tecno Spark 9 Pro. They are very beautiful phones to be just entry-level devices. Their designs are pretty original and they also come with interesting specifications if we consider their actual prices. They do not feature the 5G connectivity, but they are very affordable and a lot of people are wondering which one to buy, given that they belong to the same range. This is a comparison between the specifications of the Tecno Spark 9T and the Tecno Spark 9 Pro which will help you to understand the differences between these two budget phones.

Design
The design of the Tecno Spark 9T is clean and minimal. It has two round camera modules which remind me of the latest Honor phones, a high screen to body ratio, and a waterdrop notch. Nothing special to mention, but it is definitely an elegant phone even though it is just a cheap device. The Tecno Spark 9 Pro is more interesting because it comes with catchier color variants and a texture made of letters on the rear side. It is definitely a more interesting phone for young people. It has a high screen to body ratio just like its sibling, but it is thinner, even though it features the same battery capacity. The camera modules are similar to the ones found on the 9T, with a LED flash on the right. Both the phone feature 3.5 mm audio jacks on the lower border, but they do not come with stereo speakers.
Display
The displays found on these devices are nothing special if compared to other affordable devices. They are IPS panels, so do not expect the best image quality out there because they can only be considered sufficient display. The Tecno Spark 9 Pro wins the image quality comparison because it comes with a higher resolution: Full HD+ with 1080 x 2460 pixels, while the Tecno Spark 9T has a lower HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. However, if you are a gamer, you might prefer the Tecno Spark 9T because it has a higher refresh rate: 90 Hz instead of just 60 Hz. As mentioned above there are no stereo speakers, but these phones feature a side-mounted fingerprint reader and it is placed on the power key. Both the displays have a diagonal of 6.6 inches, which is why these devices have similar dimensions.
Specs & Software
The most powerful device of this duo is undoubtedly the Tecno Spark 9 Pro. It is equipped with a Mediatek Helio G85 mobile platform running at 2 GHz and built at 12 nm. The SoC is composed of two Cortex-A75 cores running at 2 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores running at 1.8 GHz, as well as a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. The chipset is paired with up to 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage you can furtherly expand with a micro SD dedicated slot. The Tecno Spark 9T is powered by the MediaTek Helio G37 mobile platform running at a max frequency of 2.3 GHz and built at 12 nm. The chipset is composed of four Cortex A53 CPUs running at 2.3 GHz, four Cortex A53 CPUs running at 1.8 GHz, and a PowerVR GE8320 GPU. It has 4 GB of RAM and either 64 GB or 128 GB of native storage, expandable with a micro SD.
Camera
The best camera setup belongs to the Tecno Spark 9 Pro which wins the camera comparison as well. On the rear side, it has a 50 MP main sensor, a 2 MP depth sensor, and a QVGA lens, as well as a 32 MP front snapper for selfies. It is not a high-end camera, but way better than the main camera found on the Tecno Spark 9T. The 9T has a 13 MP main sensor and the same secondary sensors as the Pro version, as well as the same 32 MP selfie snapper. What makes the difference is the main sensor with its disappointing 13 MP resolution.
The Tecno Spark 9T and the Tecno Spark 9 Pro have the same battery capacity: 5000 mAh. The battery life is similar, but the 9T should last more in a lot of scenarios due to its lower display resolution. On the other hand, the Pro variant is the only one to support fast charging with a power of 18W.
Price
If you need a unit of the Tecno Spark 9T, you have to pay about €180/$188 at the actual change in the Indian market. The Tecno Spark 9 Pro is yet to hit the shelves and we still do not know how much it will cost. The Pro variant wins the comparison due to its higher display resolution, better 50 MP main camera, superior chipset, a higher quantity of RAM, and, last but not least, 18W fast charging technology.
A British man has gotten back his lost iPhone ten months after it fell into a river. The news of the amazing recovery was reported in both print and social media in the UK. The incident happened in August 2021 when Edinburgh-based Owain Davies dropped his iPhone while canoeing on the Wye River.
Interestingly, the phone was discovered by another person canoeing across the river a few weeks back. Miguel Pacheco saw the iPhone floating on the river, retrieved and dried it, then posted its photos on a public Facebook group. He felt the need to return the iPhone to its owner who may have sentimental photos and videos still on the phone. Impressively, after drying the iPhone, Pacheco was able to charge the phone and the lock screen came up. The date on the device was August 13, which was the day it fell into the river.
Pacheco’s Facebook post was shared over 4,000 times and friends of the owner identified him as the man in the lock screen photo on the iPhone. Davies himself had been away from the internet for about six months. Davies was subsequently reunited with the iPhone.
This is yet another of the numerous survival stories of the Apple iPhone. It brings to the fore once more the ruggedness of iPhones. A device that stayed about 10 months underwater was able to turn on again. There are no indications of the full workability of the recovered iPhone, but the story remains impressive.
