It has kind of become a tradition for Xiaomi to first announce a smartphone in China and soon make it available in India. While previously, Xiaomi wasn’t much open about smartphone launches, since now, almost everyone keeps an eye on the Chinese market and its smartphones, the company has now officially confirmed that the new Xiaomi Mi Max phablet will be announced in India on June 30.
The company announced this phablet, which is also the largest smartphone from Xiaomi till date, back in May in China. So, it took around a couple of months for the device to hit the Indian market, which isn’t too bad. The Xiaomi Mi Max is a great smartphone for all phablet lovers, looking for a device that can replace your tablet yet last for more than a day on a single charge. We have already reviewed this massive device, which you can check out from here.
Something BIG is coming to blow you away on 30th June, Indian Mi fans! Stay tuned 😎https://t.co/xBQyNscrCo
To recap, the Xiaomi Mi Max comes with a 6.44-inch 1080p display which translates into 342 ppi. Under the hood, the phone packs either Snapdragon 650 or Snapdragon 652 (according to variants) and 3GB / 4GB RAM and 32GB / 64GB / 128GB ROM options. This is further expandable up to 128GB via MicroSD. At the back, the phone comes with a 16MP camera while up front you get a 5MP shooter. The Max runs on MIUI 7.1 out of the box. Under the hood, it packs a massive 4850mAh battery which should power the device for a couple of days.
Considering the pricing of the Xiaomi products in India as compared to China, we can expect the Xiaomi Mi Max to start at around INR 16,000-17,000 ($238-$254) for the base variant. The company is yet to reveal which variants will be announced in India, but expect more details at the announcement on June 30.
OnePlus made the new OnePlus 3 official yesterday and the company seems to have taken a safe route this time, giving users almost everything that they would expect on a new flagship phone without any surprises. However, there were some questions that we needed answers like what exactly is an Optic AMOLED display and why did the company decide to do away with the memory card slot on the device. Today, at the Reddit AMA, OnePlus’s CEO Carl Pei and a bunch of other staff answered these questions, which gives us a good idea about a few decisions taken by the company regarding the new OnePlus 3.
I have compiled the major questions asked and their answers. So, here’s the highlight of the AMA at Reddit.
Why reduce the battery capacity on the OnePlus 3?
OnePlus is of the opinion that 3000mAh will get you throughout the day and dash charge comes in handy. You could get around 7 hours+ of 2K video on medium screen brightness with 30 minutes of charging. Further, the use of Optic AMOLED panel and the efficient Snapdragon 820 will ensure that the OnePlus 3 will last throughout the day.
What is this Optic AMOLED Display?
OnePlus has used current gen. Super AMOLED panels and added their take on contrast and color temperature making it or at least trying to make it true to life. Carl says this also works well outdoors, in bright conditions.
Why stick with 1080p resolution on the OP3?
Because anything over 1080p is only beneficial for VR, and you spend more than 95% of your time outside of VR. Plus, having a resolution more than 1080p has many drawbacks.
Will rooting OnePlus 3 void warranty?
Like all OnePlus devices, rooting won’t void warranty.
When will OnePlus release kernel for the OnePlus 3?
It’s already released!
Does OnePlus 3 support Android Pay?
Yes, it fully supports Android Pay.
Any plans for a 4GB RAM variant?
No. OnePlus 3 is only available in 6GB RAM version.
Why does OnePlus 3 not have a MicroSD card slot?
MicroSD card slots slow down your storage as compared to the inbuilt ROM which is super fast UFS 2.0. Plus, it makes the phone bulkier. Hence, no MicroSD and 64GB ROM as standard.
When can we buy the soft gold version?
Soon, but no date mentioned yet.
Why remove Laser Focus from OnePlus 3?
Carl said that PDAF is better because LAF only works at <40cm.
Any more variants of the OnePlus 3, like smaller storage version?
Nope. Just the soft gold color version that will be released soon.
What’s the DAC used inside the OnePlus 3?
Standard one that comes with Qualcomm SD820 chip.
Why price the OnePlus 3 at 399 EUR which is higher than 399 USD in US?
Because of taxes and transportation costs, the price is higher in EU.
That pretty much sums up the major questions asked at the AMA on Reddit. If you want to check it out, click here.
While Xiaomi and OnePlus were launching phones yesterday, Vivo dropped new teasers for their new phone in their X Series lineup; the Vivo X7. The Vivo X7 is a selfie focused phone as it features a 16MP front-facing camera with something called as moonlight flash. The camera is said to feature beautifying effects which lets you enhance the pictures you take. Vivo’s X series lineup have always been powerful mid-range series, so we can expect pretty good specs on the device.
The phone does appear thin from the promotional pictures and looks to have taken design cues from the iPhone 6. Vivo has mentioned that the X7 will be launched this month, we believe they’ll tease other features before the final release date.
We have seen smartphones with powerful front facing sensors like OPPO R9 and even Meitu M6 (21MP). So, we will have to wait and see whether the Vivo X7 comes with something more than a powerful front facing shooter.
OnePlus 3 was announced yesterday with much fanfare and the phone turned out to be one of the best value for money handsets in the market right now. We also got hold of a OnePlus 3 unit earlier today (thanks to OPPOMART) and thought we could get a brief hands-on and unboxing of the device. Of course, this video is just a basic overview and our take on the new OnePlus 3 flagship will be revealed in a few days time. However, till then, check out the video below.
What we can see is that the company has used a very safe design, going with a traditional form factor and metal body which is somewhat standard on most flagships of 2016. That said, it is a well-built phone that looks quite decent, performs well and has a decent camera as well. With 6GB of RAM, Adreno 530 GPU and SD820 chipset inside, the phone is super smooth, and opening up even heavy apps would be a breeze.
OnePlus released the OnePlus 3 flagship yesterday and the phone managed to impress with its top-notch specs and pricing. If the company was to continue its usual launch tradition this year, we should have seen the successor to the OnePlus X model sometime later in 2016. However, it looks like OnePlus has decided to scrap the OnePlus X lineup this year, as Carl Pei, CEO of OnePlus reveals that the company will focus on the true flagship lineup in 2016.
This is kind of surprising given that OnePlus X got pretty good response from customers as well as reviewers. So, popularity or sales are not the reasons why the company decided to skip its update this year. Instead, Carl reveals that OnePlus wants to “strengthen its foundation” this year, focusing on the flagship lineup. Last year, the company’s OnePlus 2 flagship wasn’t as well received as the first generation model and it looks like the company doesn’t want to make the same mistake this year.
He further added that OnePlus plans to merge the development resources for OnePlus’s OxygenOS and HydrogenOS in the long run. Also, the company will be investing more in after sales services as well as lifestyle products. Another interesting thing this year is the absence of the boring invite system. For the past two years, OnePlus fans had to go through the huge waiting for invites, which to be honest was quite irritating. However, from this year onwards, the company has totally scrapped the invite system, a much welcome move for customers. Given that the company reportedly started mass production last month itself, stocks should be enough for the demand. At least, that’s what it seems at the moment.
Carl finally adds that OnePlus is doing well in Europe, India and US. In fact, Europe is expected to remain company’s fastest growing market and it continues to be top selling smartphone in the $300+ in India.
So, what do you think? Has OnePlus 3 managed to bring back the same experience as the first generation OnePlus One?
Meitu is not a famous smartphone manufacturer internationally, but the company does have a small fan following in China. A couple of days back, Meitu announced the brand new Meitu M6 smartphone, and the phone was a unique shaped device. It was good to see something different in the market flooded with phones with traditional rectangular design and glass/ metal bodies. Instead of following the tradition, Meitu came up with a different design, hexagonal in shape with a curved back that should be easy to hold. The phone features 2.5D curved glass on the back as well as the front.
The Chinese website, mydrivers got their hands on the new Meitu M6 flagship and they have done an unboxing of the device. You can check out the pictures of the M6 in real life down below.
To recap, the Meitu M6 comes with the Helio P10 octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz with 3GB of RAM on board and 64GB of internal storage. The main highlight of the phone is the 21MP sensor that is fitted up front. It is one of the largest sensors we have seen on a front camera, and given that its Sony IMx230, we expect pretty good pictures from this shooter. At the back as well, you have the same 21MP sensor, making sure that the performance of the rear camera is also up to the mark. Since this phone is focused on its camera performance, Meitu has used Fujitsu’s Milbeaut image processing chip along with other techs such as M-Face recognition, and M-color. The battery isn’t large, with a capacity of just 2940mAh, but considering its 5-inch 1080p screen, it should probably be enough to last a day. The Meitu M6 will go on sale in China for 2399 Yuan ($363).
So, what do you think about the phone’s design? Did you notice that the home button looks exactly like the iPhone?
OnePlus 3 is official, and the company, like always, has given us yet another affordable powerful flagship. The pricing for the 6GB RAM version is just $399, which is amazing, especially considering that this is the final price you have to pay, unlike other Chinese 6GB RAM smartphones which most of you will have to buy via third party resellers.
Chinese companies have given us a few affordable 6GB RAM smartphones but OnePlus 3 is probably going to be the phone which makes 6GB RAM mainstream among smartphone users. The phone is already available for purchase internationally, and despite its Loop VR launch, which I personally didn’t enjoy much, the phone on paper is a beast! And since the company has promised immediate sale, it looks like OnePlus has made plenty of right decisions for the new OnePlus 3.
Anyway, as mentioned above, there are a few affordable 6GB RAM phones announced recently, so let’s take a look at how OnePlus 3 stands in comparison with the other phones in the market. Let’s take a look at the OnePlus 3 vs ZUK Z2 Pro vs Le Max 2 vs Xiaomi Mi5 comparison. Now, you would argue that Mi5 doesn’t have the 6GB RAM version, but which comparison is complete without this affordable flagship device? So, we decided to bring this phone into our comparison.
So, without wasting any more time, let’s take a look at the comparison between these devices.
MEASUREMENTS & WEIGHT & BODY MATERIAL:
OnePlus 3: 152.7 x 74.7 x 7.35 mm 158 grams METAL
ZUK Z2 Pro: 145.4 x 70.5 x 7.5 mm 145 grams GLASS
Le Max 2: 156.8 × 77.6 × 8 mm 185 grams METAL
Xiaomi Mi5: 144.6 x 69.2 x 7.3 mm139 grams Glass / Ceramic
OnePlus 3 vs ZUK Z2 Pro vs Le Max 2 vs Xiaomi Mi5: Display
These four flagship smartphones pretty much cover all the ideal screen sizes for a smartphone user. If you want something compact, you have the ZUK Z2 Pro and the Xiaomi Mi5 with its 5.2-inch and 5.15-inch displays respectively, and if you are looking for a phone with a slighter larger screen, there’s the OnePlus 3 with its ideal 5.5-inch Optic AMOLED panel. All three phones sport 1080p resolution. On the other hand, if you want something that touches the phablet category, you have the Le Max 2 which features a 5.7-inch 2K display. While ZUK comes with a Super AMOLED panel, the Mi5 and Le Max 2 feature IPS LCD displays. Also, apart from Le Max 2, all three phones are confirmed to have Gorilla Glass protection.
OnePlus 3 vs ZUK Z2 Pro vs Le Max 2 vs Xiaomi Mi5: Specs
All the four smartphones, unsurprisingly, feature Snapdragon 820 chipsets under the hood. The OnePlus 3’s clock speed can be increased to up to 2.2GHz, while the other three models feature a 2.15GHz chipset. All four have Adreno 530 GPU inside, which is one of the best in the market today.
Since they are the top flagships in the market right now, they get the top specs as well. Apart from the Xiaomi Mi5, all the three smartphones have 6GB of RAM in the top-end variant. Then there’s 64GB of storage on OnePlus 3 and Le Max 2 and 128GB ROM inside Xiaomi Mi5 and ZUK Z2 Pro. What’s really the highlight here is that all four feature UFS 2.0 storage standard. And guess what, with this much storage, all three models don’t feature a MicroSD card slot.
Moving on to the camera department, the OnePlus 3 comes with a Sony IMX298 16MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, OIS and EIS with manual controls. On the other hand, the ZUK Z2 Pro features a Samsung ISOCELL 13MP shooter at the back with f/1.8 aperture with once again OIS and EIS along with PDAF. As for the Xiaomi Mi5, it comes with a 16MP f/2.0 lens at the back with 4-axis OIS and PDAF. Finally, the Le Max 2 comes with a 21MP sensor at the back with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and OIS. As you can see, all four have dual tone flash, PDAF and OIS for fast focus and blur free images. Further, all the four models can capture 4K videos at 30 fps and slo-mo videos at 120fps. Well, ZUK Z2 Pro can do a bit more in the slo-motion video recording, capturing at 960fps. Coming to the front, all phones, except for Mi5 have 8MP shooters at the back. As for the Xiaomi Mi5, it comes with a 4MP Ultrapixel shooter.
The OnePlus 3 and Xiaomi Mi5 come with 3000mAh batteries, while the Le Max 2 and ZUK Z2 Pro have a slightly larger 3100mAh battery. All phones except for OnePlus 3 feature Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0. As for the OP3, it comes with the company’s new Dash charge which is reportedly cooler than competition, charging to 60% in 30 minutes. In case you are wondering, QC 3.0 charges up to 83% in 30 minutes.
The Xiaomi Mi5, OnePlus 3 and the ZUK Z2 Pro feature front facing physical home buttons with fingerprint sensors. The Le Max 2 is a bit different because it features an ultrasonic sensor located at the back. Another interesting thing is that the Z2 Pro’s sensor also works with wet hands.
As for connectivity, all models except for ZUK Z2 Pro feature NFC connectivity with fingerpint payments. Other features are standard on all devices like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, dual SIM dual standby, 4G LTE support, and USB Type-C. The Le Max 2 and the Xiaomi Mi5 have an additional infrared port as well.
Now coming to some model specific features. The ZUK Z2 Pro comes with over 10 different professional sensors including a blood oxygen sensor, UV sensor etc to set it apart from the other devices listed here. In fact, if you want to check out all the unique features of the Z2 Pro, check it out from here. Another thing to note is that the Le Max 2 does not come with a traditional 3.5mm headphone jack and instead uses the USB Type-C based CDLA standard for audio output.
OnePlus 3 vs ZUK Z2 Pro vs Le Max 2 vs Xiaomi Mi5: Pricing & Availability
Since these phones are made by top Chinese companies, their pricing are quite aggressive. For example, the OnePlus 3 is available to buy internationally for $399. On the other hand, the ZUK Z2 Pro’s price comes to around $416, but its limited to China. The Xiaomi Mi5 is also priced the same for the 4GB RAM model i.e. $416. The Le Max 2’s 6GB RAM model is actually the cheapest, costing around $386.
However, if you want to purchase these phones (except OP3), you will have to shell out a premium, which takes their prices to a much higher level. So, at this moment, the OnePlus 3 with 6GB RAM on board is really what most would pick among these four devices.
OnePlus has just officially announced the new OnePlus 3 flagship via the company Loop VR app. This was kind of a formality given that a few hours back, we got to know most of the specifications of the smartphone, thanks to the Amazon listing in India. But anyway, the phone is official and what we now know for sure is that the OnePlus 3 is available to purchase immediately globally without any invites. Also, OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 3 6GB RAM edition will be available at $399 internationally which is a great price for a phone with such powerful specs.
Before we actually take a look at the specs in detail, let’s take a look at the variants of the phone. That’s where it’s really surprising, given that OnePlus has currently announced just one version of the new OnePlus 3 flagship. Right now, it looks like you can get only the 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM version of the device and there’s no mention of a 4GB RAM version. But for $399 (or INR 27,999 in India) for the top-end model, I am sure not many would complain. So it looks like, OnePlus 3 is going to be the first smartphone with 6GB of RAM to be available officially in a number of countries worldwide.
We already know all the specs of the device, thanks to the previous listing. But since OnePlus has made everything official, let’s take a look at the specs once again.
First of all, the OnePlus 3 will be coming in an anodised aluminum body to make the phone look much more premium and sophisticated. The phone features a fingerprint sensor up front embedded into its oval home button. For display, the OnePlus 3 comes with an Optic AMOLED panel measuring 5.5-inches with Gorilla Glass 3 on top. There will be 6GB of RAM on board and the phone comes with the Snapdragon 820 chipset with Adreno 530 GPU. Interestingly, SD820 is usually clocked at 2.15GHz, but here, the company claims that the chip can be clocked up to 2.2GHz. There will be 64GB UFS 2.0 ROM inside and this is the only storage variant that was announced today. No MicroSD slot on board.
At the back, the OnePlus 3 features a Sony IMX298 16MP f/2.0 rear camera with OIS, EIS and PDAF, while up front, the phone comes with an 8MP shooter. You can capture 4K videos at 30fps and slow motion videos at 720p @ 120 fps. Up front, you get a f/2.0 8MP shooter with EIS. As for the battery, the phone comes with a 3000mAh capacity one inside the 7.35mm body with the company’s DASH Charge. This technology is reportedly much cooler than the competition, charging the device up to 60 percent in just 30 minutes. Other features of the OnePlus 3 include NFC, Wi-Fi ac, RGB notification light, alert slider, dual SIM cards, 4G LTE Cat. 6 support, Dirac HD sound, bottom facing speakers and dual microphones with noise cancellation. The phone is running on Android Marshmallow (doesn’t mention the exact version) with OxygenOS on top.
There will be two colors available, Graphite and Soft Gold. Graphite version goes on sale immediately worldwide for $399, while we still don’t know when the Soft Gold version will be available.
So, that was the OnePlus 3! What do you think about the device?
Also, how was the Loop VR launch experience for you guys?

UPDATE: As expected, Amazon realized their mistake and removed the page. But luckily, we have all we need including the full specs list.
It looks like someone over at Amazon India was just fed up of the hundreds of OnePlus 3 leaks that we have been seeing online as the dedicated page for the OnePlus 3 is already live on the online retailer, revealing practically everything about the smartphone including the rumored Dash Charging tech, a few hours before the official global launch.
First of all, the listing confirms that the OnePlus 3 features a unibody design, carved out of a single slab of aluminum. The company is also calling it ultra-thin as it measures just 7.35mm. In fact, we have the full measurements, 152.7 x 74.7 x 7.35mm. The phone will weigh 158 grams, which is pretty good, considering its metal built. You get bottom facing speakers and dual noise cancellation microphones.
As for the display, the OnePlus 3 will sport a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080p Optic AMOLED display and Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4 protection. Under the hood, like expected, the OnePlus 3 comes with a quad-core Snapdragon 820 chipset with 6GB of RAM on board. We haven’t seen the listing for the 4GB RAM version, but we expect most of the details to be the same as this version. There will be 64GB of internal storage which is going to be fast, since its UFS 2.0. There doesn’t seem to be a MicroSD card slot on board.
At the back, the OnePlus 3 will come with a 16MP camera with two image stabilizations, namely OIS and EIS to make sure that the photos and videos come out blur free. This is a Sony IMX298 sensor with 1.12um pixel size and f/2.0 aperture lens. The phone supports PDAF and can take 4K videos at 30 fps and slo-mo videos at 720p @ 120fps. Further, the phone also supports RAW images and manual controls. Up front, it will feature a f/2.0 8MP camera.
We had talked about the fast charging feature of the OnePlus 3 in our previous articles. Now, we know that the OnePlus 3 will come with Dash Charge which the company claims is faster, safer and cooler way of charging the 3000mAh battery inside. The listing states that the phone will charge to 60% in just 30 minutes at a maximum wattage of 5V 4A.
Another important feature, that seems to make a comeback in this device is the NFC. So, unlike previous rumors, the phone does come with NFC enabled. Further, you get Cat. 6 4G LTE networks, Bluetooth 4.2, dual band Wi-Fi ac, GPS, GLONASS and BeiDou. Other additional features include a fingerprint sensor embedded into the front facing home button, RGB LED notification light and an alert slider located on the left side of the device. You also get USB Type-C port as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack. As for the software, the OnePlus 3 runs on OxygenOS based on Android 6.1. There also seems to be some enhancements in the music department, as the listing reveals something about OnePlus Music and Dirac technology.
oneplus 3 LTE bands
Finally, there will be three models available for the OnePlus 3 — North American, Chinese and Europe/ Asia with different LTE band support. As for the pricing, we know that the OnePlus 3 6GB RAM model will be priced at INR 27,999 in India ($416).
So, there are only a few things left to know about the handset right now like the pricing of the 4GB model in India as well as the pricing of both the variants internationally as well as in China.

So, what do you think about the new OnePlus 3? Impressed?
The official launch event is just a few hours away. So stay tuned for some more details in the next few hours.
OnePlus 3 is coming and the launch is today! It is one of the most anticipated smartphones of 2016, and we have been hearing about this particular flagship for the past few months. In fact, as the launch is coming near, we have a very good idea as to what to expect from the new flagship, thanks to the various leaked renders, real life images and TENAA listings. So, let’s take a look at the expected features, specs, pricing and other details of the upcoming OnePlus 3.
OnePlus 3 Design:
OnePlus One was a pretty good looking device and so was the OnePlus 2. Then late last year, the company released the OnePlus X with glass body and premium design for the mid-range market, taking the design to a new level. So, the company has pretty big shoes to fill with the OnePlus 3. Everyone is expecting a new design and something that will look premium and will be good to hold.
And from the renders we have seen lately, the company seems to have followed the same route as most other smartphone makers, using an all metal body on the new OnePlus 3. From the front, the design has a very similar appearance as the OnePlus 2, which is not really a bad thing since we loved OP2’s design. However, at the back, the OnePlus 3 seems to have taken inspiration from HTC One M9. Now, for most, this is a pretty good design, with visible antenna lines and a large sensor. But in my personal opinion, OnePlus could have done much better, as this design will always remind us of the good old HTC flagship. Nevertheless, the design looks polished and if you are able to get over the HTC feel, the overall design is good enough for a premium flagship smartphone.
OnePlus 3 Specs:
We have heard about the specs of the OnePlus 3 from so many sources in the past few months. Luckily, most of them, paint a very similar picture. The flagship phone will come with the mighty Snapdragon 820 quad-core chipset inside, which shouldn’t be surprising that most of the powerful flagships of 2016 are currently powered by this Qualcomm chip. As for the display, you should find a 5.5-inch 1080p panel on the device.
Coming to the memory, our own sources have revealed that the OnePlus 3 will come in two variants, one with 4GB RAM + 32GB of storage and another with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. But we believe there could be two other variants, namely 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB + 128GB storage. So, in all, there could be four different variants of the device. Recent rumors also seem to conform to these specs, so it’s likely that we will see these four variants at launch.
From the reports we have seen in the past as well as the phone’s TENAA listing, the OnePlus 3 should come with a 16MP sensor at the back. Unfortunately, we didn’t see a laser focus in the renders before, so we aren’t sure whether it will make it to the device this year. Also, details about the sensor inside have been scarce till now.
But don’t be disappointed, we have seen a lot of camera samples from the OnePlus 3 in the past one month, to give us a good idea of the sensor’s capability. And from what we can see, the phone has managed to capture some pretty good images. Low light photos also have been decent. All the camera samples from the OnePlus 3 are added below.
We also have seen a couple of samples from the phone’s front camera. It should be an 8MP shooter. You can check out those images from down below.
oneplus 3 front camera sample
As for the software, the OnePlus 3 international model should come with OxygenOS 3.0 based on Android Marshmallow while the Chinese variant should feature HydrogenOS based on the same Android version. The phone’s battery is said to be 3000mAh which is decent, but we should either see Quick Charge 3.0 or OPPO’s VOOC fast charging tech inside, which should speed up the process of charging the phone to 100%. There have been rumors about the company’s own Dash charge tech as well, but nothing is confirmed so far.
Like the OnePlus 2, the new OnePlus 3 handset should come with a fingerprint sensor incorporated in the home button placed right up front. We hope the company has improved the sensor inside, as there were a few reports about fingerprint sensor related issues with the previous generation OP2.
The phone should get standard connectivity features such as dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G LTE support, dual-SIM card slots, and even NFC. However, there was a new report which said that OP3 won’t feature NFC, but we can’t be sure of that.
OnePlus 3 Pricing:
Our sources have revealed that the OnePlus 3 should start at 1999 Yuan which is just $306. This will be for the 4GB RAM version, and the 6GB RAM version should retail somewhere around $380. While we are yet to confirm these figures, earlier today, an advertisement, which was most likely posted by mistake in a daily newspaper in India kind of confirmed the 6GB RAM pricing of the OnePlus 3, at least in India. The phone will retail for 27999 INR which comes to $416. So, we expect the official price for the 6GB RAM model should be more or less around this figure, which would be great. Now, some of you may argue that there’s the 6GB RAM smartphone, Le Max 2 that retail for less than $400. But considering that OnePlus is sold internationally in almost all major markets, if the pricing is anywhere close to the above-mentioned figure, it would be great.
OnePlus 3 Availability:
This time around, OnePlus has decided to ditch the boring old invite system. So, fans can purchase the device from the moment of announcement. In fact, the company has even revealed when the OnePlus 3 will go on sale in different time zones. Here’s the list.
Open sales will start at:
June 14 15:00 EDT New York time
June 14 12:00 PDT San Francisco time
June 14 20:00 BST London Time
June 15 03:00 HKT Hongkong Time
June 15 12:30 IST New Delhi Time
Finally, for all those who want to watch the event, which is going to start in around four hours from now, can check out this article. It contains the event start times in different time zones as well as a few other details about the launch of the OnePlus 3.
Nubia seems to be busy this month. The company first unveiled the Nubia Z11 Max phablet with an impressive screen to body ratio at the start of June. Now, the company is preparing to launch yet another product by the end of this month and it’s none other than the anticipated Nubia Z11 flagship. We have been hearing about this device at regular intervals in the past few months and now, finally, we have an official date when the phone will be released. The Z11 launch event will be held at the famous Beijing National Convention Center on June 28.
The company released a poster for the release of the new handset, and unsurprisingly, it features a picture of Cristiano Ronaldo. However, like the Nubia Z11 Max unveiling, don’t expect C. Ronaldo to be present at the event, since he will be currently busy with Euro 2016.
Nubia Z11 Front Panel leaked
While Nubia is yet to officially start teasing the features of the new Nubia Z11, we already know most of the details about the device, thanks to its TENAA certification earlier. The phone will come with a bezel-less design, much like its predecessor. We can clearly see the design on the image of the front on TENAA. As for the specs, the phone will come with the Snapdragon 820 chipset under the hood clocked at 2.15GHz with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. We still don’t know whether there will be a 6GB RAM version, but we haven’t seen this high-end model on TENAA yet. Up front, it will sport a 5.5-inch 1080p bezel-less display. TENAA failed to give out the camera specs of the device, but considering the sensors on Nubia Z11 Max and Mini models, we can expect to see a 16MP shooter at the back and an 8MP sensor up front. The battery is expected to be around 2900mAh, since the phone’s thickness is said to be limited to 7.75mm.
Now that Nubia has confirmed the launch event, we can expect a lot more information about the device in the next few days.
OnePlus is officially going to announce the new OnePlus 3 flagship later today internationally via the Loop VR app. While we all are excitedly waiting for the new handset to be unveiled, more images of the OnePlus 3 flagship have just been leaked out on Weibo. It looks like until the phone is official, such leaks would make it to us.
Given that we have seen the handset in real life in the past couple of weeks, the new leak actually offers us not much in addition to what we already know. However, the OnePlus 3 model leaked today seems to be the international model as it runs on the OxygenOS 3.0 version based on Android 6.0.1. The OnePlus 3 models in China run on Hydrogen OS. Other than that, we can see that this is the black version, with HTC like back design and an oval front facing fingerprint. If you remember, yesterday, we had seen the silver variant of the device. Anyway, check out the newly leaked images from down below.
OnePlus will be unveiling the device today, so it’s just a matter of a few hours until we get official details. In case you are confused about the timing of the launch event in your local time zone and from where to watch it, check out this article, wherein we have compiled the launch times in international time zones as well as the link to the Loop VR app.
OnePlus 3 specs are going to be quite powerful, including Snapdragon 820 and 4GB / 6GB RAM options. Pricing is said to start at 1999 Yuan which comes to nearly $305, which would be aggressive. But these are rumored figures and the official prices will be confirmed later today. Stay tuned for details.
Since almost all major smartphone makers are busy announcing new devices in the market, and it’s been a couple of months since we saw a powerful handset from the Chinese company, Vivo, it is now all set to join the party this month by announcing a new smartphone, the Vivo X7. The company has already started teasing the device, and today, it revealed one important specification of the new device, namely the front camera.
Vivo reveals that the Vivo X7 will come with a powerful 16MP camera that will reportedly illuminate your beauty. While the company did not officially confirm whether there will be front facing flash on the device, from the image above, it looks like there will be one up front as well. So, this phone will naturally be targeted at selfie lovers who want a powerful sensor with front facing flash.
These days, manufacturers tend to focus on the front facing cameras on their smartphones. We know OPPO R9 comes with a powerful 16MP shooter up front and then, yesterday, the lesser known Meitu released the new Meitu M6 model which comes with a much larger 21MP sensor. So, Vivo seems to be joining the likes of these smartphone manufacturers who give importance to the front facing shooter as well.
Unfortunately, at this moment, the company is yet to reveal any more details about the Vivo X7. But Vivo has a tradition of releasing a number of key details about its upcoming handsets before the official unveiling. So, we expect to hear a lot more information about the Vivo X7 in the coming days. Stay tuned to gizmochina for more updates.
We have been seeing several variants of the Xiaomi Redmi 3 in the past couple of weeks. Now, Xiaomi has officially taken the wraps off the new device, and it is confirmed that the phone will be called as the Redmi 3S. The new model uses the Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz instead of the Snapdragon 616 chipset found inside the previous Redmi 3 models. Rest of the specs and design seem to be similar to the earlier models.
So, the new Redmi 3S will come with a metal body with a fingerprint sensor located at the back. There will be three color options, gold, silver with white front and gray with black front. As for the specs, the Redmi 3S will come in two memory variants, 2GB RAM + 16GB storage and 3GB RAM + 32GB storage. The storage is further expandable up to 128GB via a hybrid MicroSD card slot.
The phone sports a 5-inch 720p display and a 5MP f/2.2 front facing camera. At the back, the device features a 13MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture, HDR, PDAF and 1080p full HD recording. Like the previous generation Redmi models, Xiaomi Redmi 3S is using a large 4100mAh battery on board with 5V 2A fast charging. With the efficient chipset and display, you should easily get around a couple of days of usage with this battery. The phone also comes with an infrared port which can be used to control various applications inside your home. Other features include MIUI 7 based on Android Lollipop, Wi-Fi 2.4GHz, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, 4G LTE and dual SIM dual standby.
Like always, Xiaomi has priced the new handset aggressively. The Redmi 3S 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM edition starts at 699 Yuan ($106), and you will have to shell out 899 Yuan ($136) for the 3GB RAM + 32GB of storage. The phone will go on sale on May 16 at 10:00 AM from the company’s official store, Lynx store, JD.com and Suning.com.
After months of waiting, OnePlus will officially unveil the new OnePlus 3 flagship globally via the company’s Loop VR app. Like last year, OnePlus is continuing with the tradition of announcing the device in virtual reality, but this time, instead of the OnePlus office, the company is going to release the new device at its Loop Virtual Space Station.
Less than 12 hours are remaining for the event, and the company even has a dedicated Loop page with a countdown timer for the start of the event. You can check out the page from here. Also, in case you are wondering, check out the table below to see the exact time when the Loop VR event kicks off in your local time. Make sure you download and install the Loop app from OnePlus before the event. While the company recommends using a VR headset for watching the event, it’s not necessary to have a headset. If you have been putting off the purchase of a brand new Huawei P9 flagship, now might be a good time to take a look at this device again. Let’s get real, the phone’s quite expensive and with resellers charging an additional premium over its original price, you end up having to pay a lot more for the device. Initially, the Huawei P9 was being sold by retailers for around $600 and more, which was a lot to pay, however, now, OPPOMART has reduced the price tag of the P9 by $100. So, you can get the 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM version of the device for just $499. The $100 OFF promotion most likely ends this weekend, so anyone who wishes to purchase this device at this price, make sure you do it before the promotion ends.
So, what do you get for $500? You get 12MP dual cameras equipped Huawei P9 in three different color options namely grey, silver and gold. As many of you already know, these dual cameras are co-engineered and certified by Leica and the reviews of the phone’s camera have been quite positive so far. So, the camera alone could be one of the major reasons for getting this model. Up front, the phone features an 8MP shooter.
Apart from the impressive setup at the back, the Huawei P9 comes with a 5.2-inch 1080p display with Huawei’s own flagship Kirin 955 octa-core processor inside clocked at 2.5GHz. There are 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB options, but for the latter version, you will have to shell out $100 more. The phone is pretty thin as well, measuring just about 7mm in thickness. Inside this body, the company has provided a 3000mAh battery which should be good enough for a day.
You can check out more details about the Huawei P9 listing on OPPOMART from down below.
It seems like a long time since we first heard about the Elephone P9000 Edge smartphone. We have been waiting for this particular device for the past few months, and up till now, we only have been hearing tid bits about the device. A few days back, we came up with some of the specs of the Eleephone P9000 Edge model and now, we have a few more pictures as well as details about the device.
The new bezel-less model from Elephone is confirmed to come with the Helio X25 chipset, which is the overclocked version of the deca-core Helio X20. From benchmarks, we have seen that this chip is quite powerful for an everyday flagship. Up front, the phone will feature a bezel-less 5.7-inch JDI display with 2K resolution. The company is also using an all metal design on the device, so metal lovers will definitely be happy to hear this.
Apart from this, the Elephone P9000 Edge will come with speakers with ACC tech, which produces a similar effect as the iPhone 6S and the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Further, the company seems to have given due importance to the camera at the back. The phone is said to come with dual cameras, with variable apertures and quick focus. The definition of photos will be reportedly improved by around 30%. Also, users will be able to choose a focal point after the image has been taken. There will be dual tone flash as well. Finally, the phone will come with a fingerprint enabled home button up front.
As for the versions, the P9000 Edge is supposed to come in at least two variants, one with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage and another with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Pricing is said to start at $250 for one of the versions, which should most likely be for the 4GB RAM version.
So, what do you think about these specs? Despite its late entry, do you think the P9000 Edge is a phone that can get your attention?

The OnePlus 3 will come with the Snapdragon 820 chipset under the hood with 4GB / 6GB RAM options and 32GB /64GB ROM options. At the back, the OnePlus 3 will reportedly come with a 16MP sensor, while up front, there should be an 8MP camera. In addition to the M3S launched today, Meizu also anounced a new router. The router is an upgrade to last year’s hockey puck-design Meizu Mini and Mini Pro Compact Wireless Routers. The new router is said to feature 4 antennas (2 built-in and 2 external), support for 802.11ac Dual Band Gigabit Wi- Fi, and has a coverage area of 200 square meters.
The Meizu router is priced at 199 Yuan ($30) but buyers who purchase it alongside the M3S will get a 40 Yuan discount. It will be available for purchase on JD Mall and Meizu’s official website on the 20th of June.
Will Meizu’s new router be able to compete with Xiaomi’s Mini Mi Router as the latter sells for less?
