We are still waiting for the official release of the “Super Phones” made by the Chinese media giant LeTV. The company is a new to the smartphone industry, but made managed to attract a lot of hype to their lineup of Le Superphones – LeTV One, LeTV One Pro and LeTV One Max.
At the moment we know that the One Pro will be an all metal phone and it will come in silver and gold colour options. However, it seems that LeTV has some more offerings as the black variant of the latter device leaks in flesh and blood.
Honestly, the leak suggests that this is the One Pro model, but it is hard to tell since only the front of the device is exposed. Still, the more colour options to choose from the better. Anyway, we are very excited about these upcoming devices we cannot wait to provide the Gizmochina readers with a full review of these devices.
In the mean time, what do you think about the black colour option of the LeTV “Superphone?”
Usually we do not write about tablets very much as they are still not as popular as smartphones. And we will not write about tablet this time either, because one of the Chinese manufacturers Jide has something interesting to offer, which we may call an ultra-tablet.
The Jide company may sound like a new-comer, but it was founded by 3 former Google senior engineers, which have a combined experience of 26 years. Having a lot of experience in the field of software, these guys decided to follow the “If you want to have a great software, build your own hardware approach”.
It turns out that this is not an ordinary knock-off tablet, but it is made with high precision both in terms of hardware and software. It starts with a quite unusual screen size of 11.6 inches and 16:6 aspect ratio. According to the company, this is the exact screen size the users prefer for productivity tasks.
If there was only a tablet, we would say that it is simply too big. However, the device comes with a a keyboard along with the trackpad.
Moreover, there is a dual-angle kickstand, which teamed up with the keyboard and the proprietary Remix OS makes it a productivity oriented tablet/ultrabook.
The device comes with the Remix OS, which is build on Android 4.4.2 (Lolipop upgrade is coming soon). This OS is oriented towards productivity tasks, but can handle all the possible Android apps as well.
The device comes with a juicy 8100 mAh battery, which supports fast charging and can also charge other devices on the go.

The key specs of the device include a 11.6 inch 1920×1080 display, a Quad-core Nvidia Tegra 4 Cortex-A15 chip, which is clocked at 1.8GHz, 2GB of RAM, 64GB of storage (expandable up to 128GB via the Micro SD card slot), 5MP/5MP camera combo on the back and the front respectively, Bluetooth 4.0, OTG, Wifi and other features.
Xiaomi seems to be expanding not only its market presence (the launch of the Mi4i in India and online accessories store in the EU and US), but also prepping some new devices.
Now the leaker @upleaks claims that it is a new smartphone made by Xiaomi. It is said that it will be made out of metal, but it is hard to confirm the choice of materials from the leaked picture.
What is more, the leak suggests that the new smartphone will be equipped with a 1080p screen (specific size unknown), will have an eight-core MT6752 processor, will have 2 GB of RAM for multitasking. In addition, it will have 2 SIM card slots, 13MP Samsung S5K3M2 camera sensor on the back and OmniVision OV5670 5MP shooter on the front. Moreover, the device will support dual 4G connectivity and run the latest MIUI version on top of Android 5.0 Lolipop out of the box.
Finally, the rumours claim that the new device will be released in July and it will cost around one thousand Yuan.
Landvo S6 is a Samsung Galaxy S6 clone phone, I almost can’t recognize which is the fake when put it beside the original S6 phone. I’m surprised the Landvo factory crafted so beautiful smartphone.
Lenovo is definitely one of the Chinese market leaders as far as the smartphone sales concerned. The company produces a a vast amount of different devices. Yet, Lenovo does not come to your mind if you are looking for the camera-centric device. However, the manufacturer wants to change that as their camera smartphone Vibe Shot goes on sale in China.
As the name of the device clearly implies, it is all about the camera. If you look at the specs sheet, it really sounds promising. First, the Vibe Shot carries a 16MP 16:9 Sony Sensor, which has OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) to reduce the shakiness and help the low-light shots. Also there is a AF assist and infrared for faster focus speeds. This combination sounds really powerful and Lenovo asserts that it can achieve the fastest camera focusing time on smartphones of just 0.157 seconds!
What is more, the device is the first in the world to carry a 3 tone flash to help you produce natural looking images at night using flash. Moreover, the device has a physical shutter button to help take the shots and focus. Also, there is a Pro mode physical switch, which enables to tweak all the possible setting you can imagine on the smartphone.
The device will come in white, red and black colours. As far as design goes, we have a quality piece of hardware. It starts with a metal frame along with metal buttons around the device and continues with the double sided Gorilla Glass 3 construction. This is nothing extra ordinary, but the device definitely looks attractive and borrows some design inspiration from the point-and-shoot cameras. Lenovo brags that they are the first to produce red aluminium frame on the smartphone.
As far as specs go, the Lenovo Vibe Shot is no slouch either. It comes with a 5 inch 1080p display, which has a 100% NTSC color gamut. Also, there is a Snapdragon 615 64-bit chip along with 3GB of RAM. Also, the device carries 32 GB of expandable storage (up to 128GB via Micro SD card slot) and has dual SIM card slots with the 4G support. In addition to this, the device comes with the VIBE UI 2.5, which is based on Android 5.0 Lolipop out of the box. The juicy 3000mAh battery pack is running all these goodies.

The Lenovo Vibe Shot goes reserved for the price of just 1799 Yuan in China and will be on sale on May 22nd. However, there is no word on international pricing or availability yet. Still, we hope that international resellers will pick it up quickly and we will be able to provide you with a review as soon as possible.
What do you think, will Lenovo Vibe Shot have a killer camera in reality? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
Earlier today Meizu confirmed that they will have a new product launch event on June 2nd, which will be held in China. Also, it is now clear that there will be at least one new smartphone launch and it would be a successor to the affordable Note series (M2 Note or M1 Note 2, whatever the company decides to name it).
It turns out that the Meizu M2 Note is up and running and it has been pictured next to the MX4 Pro. This leak comes from the Chinese social network Weibo’s user @ubuntu.
We can clearly see that the device is similar to the MX4 Pro in terms of overall size. However, the home button seems to be redesigned and this time around it has an oval shape. We already know that the Meizu M2 Note will not have a fingerprint sensor as it was just confirmed by one of the executives. Still, there is one more proof the upcoming device will not carry this technology.
What is more, the translation from the Chinese language confirms that there is no fingerprint security option in the settings menu. On the other hand, the new device will come with the newest version of Flyme OS based on Android 5.1 Lolipop out of the box.
Meizu may not keep up with the current trend of fingerprint sensors in midrange Chinese smartphones, but we still expect the heck of the device for a bargain price. We have just a few weeks left to find out whether it is worth your attention or not.
However, it is still not clear if the Meizu note device will carry a fingerprint sensor as some new rumours suggest that although the smartphone will have a physical home button, but it will not have finger scanning technology embedded.
However, all the talks and rumours should be cleared out now as one the Meizu’s vice presidents shared some news with us. First, the executive confirmed that the company will indeed release the successor to the Note series. Also, it will have a round home button, but… IT WILL NOT HAVE A FINGERPRINT SENSOR!
Now when it is clear what to expect from the new budget device, we have a question why would Meizu choose to implement a physical home button? It seems that the company is trying to do all kinds of tricks to stay in the game, but we do not think that this might be a solution. What do you think?
After several months of silence, the Meizu has finally announced that they have something going on on June 2nd!
That something is a new product launch, which will be held in Beijing National Convention Centre. It is possible that the company will launch the M1 Note 2 device. The “0” symbol in the middle implies that it may get a fingerprint sensor in a metal home button. Well, this is at least our educated guess according to some previous rumours and leaks. The question remains if the company will keep an incredibly low price tag to attract the customers and stay in the fierce smartphone competition in China.
Moreover, we expect the company to release something else since one of their latest flagship devices – Meizu MX4 Pro has been allegedly discontinued by the manufacturer recently. That leads us to the question: will the company release a high-end smartphone too?
What do you think the Meizu will actually release in their upcoming event? Will their be one, two smartphones? Or maybe something else? Let us know in the comments section below and stay tuned for the event coverage on June 2nd!
The NO.1 is known for producing some clone devices for a low price. Although you may have heard about the company because of the variety of smartphones they offer, it turns out that they also produce smartwatches. All these great features can be on your wrist for incredibly low pre-order price of just $54.99.
We just recently wrote that Huawei is a possible new partner to Google to produce the new Nexus smartphone. Also, we all know the fact that the company is working hard to increase its presence in Western markets by producing well-made devices, developing their own Kirin chips and so on.
However, the Chinese giant does not want to stop here. It turns out that the company has plans to create their own new OS! In fact, there were some news reported by Reuters some time ago. It was said that the Huawei and ZTE are engaged in developing its own mobile operating system in order to reduce the dependence on Android.
Some news rumours suggest that the Huawei is prepping a new smartphone, which is said to be equipped with a self-developed mobile operating system. What is more interesting is the fact that the system has been in development in the laboratory of Huawei for three years. Moreover, the sources suggest that it will be a standalone operating system, which works in tact with a self-developed chip. In other words, the Huawei follows “If you are serious about your hardware, produce your own software” approach.
Of course, these rumours are to be taken with a pinch of salt. Still, it would be a quite interesting move by the company. However, we are not sure if it could be successful and if it could compete with the Android.
What do you think? Is there a point to produce an independent OS system in this day and age of Android? Don’t you think that the Huawei still needs to work on its hardware to get a better recognition in the Western markets? Let us know in the comments section below.
Huawei may be a big player in Chinese market already, but it is still fighting for the better positions in the Western markets. They started off by producing some budget devices, but recent years showed that the company is serious about the high-end segment too. To prove that the Huawei is working hard on its premium design (Mate and P series), putting a lot of effort on their home-brewed chips and so on.
What is more, there have been a lot of talks regarding possible Google’s new partner to produce the new Nexus device. Some new rumours suggests that the Huawei will indeed manufacture the new Nexus smartphone. Moreover, the device is said to be developed from the upcoming Huawei Mate 8 prototype. In addition, it is said that the device will come out this fall.
As far as design goes, we can expect some premium build quality, which should involve materials like metal or glass.
As far as the specs go, the new Nexus smartphone is said to have a 2k 5.7-inch screen and powered by Snapdragon 810 processor. However, chip choice is not clear since the latter Snapdragon chip is surrounded by numerous claims of overheating. Moreover, the Huawei is putting a lot of effort on developing their own Kirin chips, so there a possibility to see this processor in the device as well.
We think that it is a great opportunity for the Chinese giant Huawei to produce the next Nexus device as it may get more recognition in the international smartphone world.
Oppo is one of those Chinese manufacturers, which loves producing some interesting and innovative looking devices. The company has been on the news lately since they will announce their new device on May 20th during the conference in Beijing, China.
It seems that not only fans, but also the company itself is excited about the upcoming release as the manufacturer keeps disclosing some more and more interesting features of the R7 device.
1 of 5
This time around, OPPO praises the camera of the upcoming R7. To begin with, the device will have a phase detection focusing technology, which is said to keep the focus speed at 0.1s. What is more, the smartphone will feature “Global flash shot”, which should include tricks like dual-drive focus, rapid startup and preferred image stabilisation. All of these goodies are said to help for a super fast start of the camera, fast focusing and stabilising the image for both photo and video modes. Moreover, the camera will feature ultra-clear, slow shutter and double exposure modes.
As far as the design goes, we know that the Oppo R7 will feature an all-metal design (not just a metal frame). Also, it will have a 2.5D glass on the front to ensure the seamless look and feel.
As far as specs are concerned, the device will spot a 5-inch 1080p AMOLED screen, it will be equipped with a Snapdragon 615 processor. Also, it will have 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage (we hope it will be expandable), 13MP/8MP camera combo on the back and front, respectively.
The Oppo R7 shapes up to be a pretty good device. Well, it is definitely not a flagship since it does not have a top notch chip, but this should make it a more affordable offering. What is more, R series is more about the design and aesthetics both inside and out, so the upcoming model is a natural sequence in company’s devices’ portfolio.
In this day and age we have smartphones and other gadgets with constantly improving specs and performance. However, there is one know issue – the battery life. Indeed, it is improving with some hardware and software optimisations there and there. Still, the root cause, which is the battery technology itself seems to remain unchanged. The only thing that manufacturers are left with is increasing the battery capacity.
It seems that one of those manufacturers is the Chilli Peppers as their new Peppers 9 device just went through the TENNA certification stage.
It turns out that the new Peppers 9 device will carry a huge 4700mAh battery, which will be one of the highlight features. As far as design goes, the front looks a bit similar to the Nubia devices line (seems to be a quite popular source of inspiration for a variety of Chinese manufacturers). The sides of the phone look to be surrounded by a metal frame and the back of the device is made out of plastic material. The dimensions of the device are 144.8 × 71 × 10.6 (mm) and it has the Weight of 160g.
The handset is equipped with a 5 inch 720P display, it has a MediaTek MT6735 quad-core chip inside along with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage (expandable via Micro SD card slot up to 64GB). What is more, the device 8MP/2MP camera combo on the back and the front, respectively. Also, the Android 5.0 Lolipop is promised out of the box.
Well, the specs sheet is not impressive at all, but given the fact that the device does not carry a powerful chip and the display is not pixel hungry, we should definitely see some outstanding battery performance out of the Chilli Peppers 9 smartphone.
We will keep you updated as soon as the device is released and will provide you with all the relevant news on it, so stay tuned.
Huawei finally launched beautiful Huawei P8 flagship last month. The device came with top end specs as well as unique features which made it an attractive offering in the already crowded smartphone market.
Today, we take a look at the Huawei P8 in detail. In this review we will look at the phone’s design as well as the overall specifications of the device and we will check whether the phone lives up to our expectations.
At first glance, you will know that the Huawei P8 is targeted at the high-end premium market. The simple yet refined design as well as the beautiful gold color finish truly helps it stand apart from competitors.
The phone is made entirely out of metal, so its gold color shines bright. The design is simple, with the camera and sensors right on top of the 5.2-inch display, while the capacitive buttons at the bottom. The black screen looks especially good on the full gold body. At the bottom, you have the microUSB port along with dual speakers, which is a nice addition.
On the right side, you will find the power button in the middle. Yes, its almost at the middle, which we feel is a great positioning for the button. In phones larger than 4.7-inches, it always hard to reach out for the power button if its on the top right corner. So, this is just the perfect positioning for the button. Just above the power button, you have the volume rockers keys. And above these buttons, there are the two SIM card + Memory card slots.
The back is clean, with just the logo in the middle and the camera unit on the top left corner. Overall, the phone looks solid and beautiful. So, if you are in search for a clean yet elegant design, the Huawei P8 won’t disappoint.
With this body, you might be concerned about the phone’s grip. But the body thickness of just 6.4mm, body width of 72.1mm and 144 grams in weight makes Huawei P8 extremely easy to carry around. Even though the display is a 5.2-inch full HD panel, the large display size doesn’t seem to reflect in the body proportions which is definitely a good sign.
As for the specs, the phone comes with a Kirin 935 octa-core processor with quad Cortex A53 cores clocked at 2.2Ghz and quad Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.5GHz. In the benchmark test, the device managed to score just above 50K points which is pretty good for a flagship device. Of course, there are faster alternatives out there, but this chip should be much more power efficient. The overall performance is quite good, thanks to the 3GB LPDDR3 RAM and there is ample storage space with 64GB on board and further expandable option via MicroSD.
Coming to the battery life, the phone won’t last very long with the 2680mAh. But you can easily get a day’s usage on the device, which is the least we can expect. With moderate use, you may get it to run till the next day, but still, its slightly lower battery life than other flagships in the market.
As for the camera, Huawei P8 features the world’s first 13MP RGBW camera unit at the back with OIS and fast focus. Up front, you get an 8MP shooter ideal for taking care of selfies. While, these are big words on paper, in real life, the Huawei P8’s camera does not disappoint.
The pictures were crisp and clear when there was ample light. The color reproduction was good, focus was fast and the f/2.0 aperture brings enough light into the photos. However, like most smartphone cameras in the market, the phone did struggle in low light. Things were not as satisfactory when the light reduced or when there were a lot of shadows. As you can see in one of the picture that was shot at dusk, the image came out too dark. However, under artificial light, the pictures once again came out quite good. That is, if you know how to tweak the camera settings. You can check out the samples from down below.

Huawei P8 runs on the new Android 5.0 Lollipop version with EMUI 3.1 on top. The company’s UI has never been the best feature of its devices, and this time too, the UI is not without flaws. But there’s definitely improvement in the overall looks as well as the feature list. The UI features almost a dozen of new features, including voice wake, gesture control, and knuckles screenshots. However, the color scheme used for the icons and various other aspects of the UI is a bit disappointing. So, we feel Huawei still has a lot to improve in this regard.

So, overall the Huawei P8 turns out to be one of the best offerings from the company till date. Of course, the phone still has some room for improvement, especially in the software department, but otherwise, the looks, specs and the camera performance is top notch.
We had seen four new products from Xiaomi, through a leaked product roadmap. Now, we have another leak, thanks to upleaks which reveals a new Xiaomi Redmi device with specific set of configurations.
The leak reveals that the phone will have the trademark Redmi red color buttons at the bottom, just below the display. We can’t tell anything about the body of the phone from the picture, but it is said that it will be made out of metal.
As for the specs, the new Redmi device is rumored to feature a 1080p screen of unknown size, equipped with eight-core MT6795 processor, and built-in 2GB of RAM. The phone will be running Android 5.0 or 5.1 and will support dual SIM card dual standby. The rear camera will be of 13MP (Samsung S5K3M2) while the 5MP front shooter will be the OmniVision OV5670. Like most recent smartphones, the device will support dual 4G LTE networks.
It is said that the company will launch the device in July, which is just couple of months away. As for the pricing, expect it to be around the 1000 Yuan mark. So, this redmi device will most likely be placed below the company’s latest offering, the Xiaomi Mi4i.
A few days back, Oneplus CEO had announced that the company will release the hydrogenOS in Beijing, China on May 28. However, it looks like the new OS won’t be the only thing we will be seeing at the event, as some leaked pictures show off a new Oneplus product.
From the images, we can see a metal like body with the trademark Oneplus logo on top. There are several pictures with slightly different angles, however, all of them just reveal the top.
This could be a new product from the company, and some users are saying that the product could be a new router from the company. However, we can’t really say whether the thing in the picture is a new product. It could also be just a box from the company. So, don’t get too excited, at least for the moment.
If this indeed is a new product, we are sure to see some more details in the coming days. And finally, it could be unveiled on May 28 which is just a couple of weeks away. So its best that we wait for some concrete information before making any conclusions.
We have been hearing rumors about an event from Meizu later this month and looks like it was for the official debut of the company in India. Earlier today, Meizu announced via its official Facebook and Twitter accounts that it will be entering the Indian market this month.
The company has held a new press conference in the country, where it will most likely unveil a number of its existing device portfolio. The company is yet to reveal which phones will make it to India first, but our best guess is the two popular devices from the Blue Charm series, namely the Meizu M1 Note and the Meizu M1 Mini will debut first in the market.
Interestingly, the event poster unveiled via a tweet uses the same quote from Lei Jun’s Speech at the Xiaomi Mi4i unveiling “Are You Ok?”.
India has one of the fastest growing smartphone market and its no wonder than many Chinese companies like Xiaomi, Gionee and even Nubia are trying to get hold of a share of the market. Meizu’s entry will further intensify the competition in the country, especially, in the mid-range and low-end segments.
Well, the announcement is just a few days away, so expect more details soon.
Yesterday evening, Vivo announced its new mid-range flagship in the market, the Vivo X5Pro. We already knew a lot about the device, thanks to the numerous teasers and leaks that were going around on the internet. So, the specs and features were in line with what we expected.
Yesterday at the time of launch, Vivo did not unveil the pricing of its new flagship. But earlier today, the company has finally revealed that the Vivo X5Pro smartphone will be available for purchase for just 2598 Yuan which comes to around $420. This turns out to be a great price for a device with features that include Phase Detection AutoFocus and Iris recognition.
Other tech specs are also pretty good. The phone features Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor under the hood with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. There is a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display up front with a resolution of 1920 x 1080p. The rear 13MP camera will have PDAF, better than the iPhone 6 and the front camera will be of 8MP which can take 32MP resolution selfies as well as act as an IRIS scanner.
The phone comes with 2300mAh battery, which is a bit small as compared to competitors. But for the sacrifice in battery, you get a super slim body measuring just 6.44mm with 2.5D glass on both the sides. Finally, it will run on Android 5.0 Lollipop version with Funtouch 2.1 OS on top. Of course, this being a Vivo flagship, you get a powerful audio Hi-Fi chip inside. Its the CS4398 + AX97220 op amp, which supports Hi-Fi sound.
We all know that Gionee is going to release its flagship device for the year, the Gionee Elife E8 soon. The device recently hit TENAA which revealed that the phone will come with a 23MP rear camera.
While this rear camera unit is much bigger than competitors, it looks like the company has something more in store for its fans. Earlier today, a new poster revealed that the Gionee Elife E8 could be capable of capturing pictures in a massive 100MP resolution. Yes, you heard it right, we said 100MP! This will be the first time, a smartphone camera will be capable of taking such high resolution pictures.
Of course, you could have guessed by now that the camera unit itself won’t be of 100MP. Instead, the 23MP shooter will be able to digitally stitch and interpolate pictures to such a high resolution. It looks like Gionee will be using a similar tech to what OPPO used in its Find 7 flagship to take 50MP images. The camera could be the 23.8MP OV23850 that was announced back in January this year. It features 1 / 2.3 inch PureCel-S stacked CMOS, support phase focusing and real-time HDR functions.
Other tech specs are also pretty high end. TENAA listing revealed that the phone will feature an octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz, 3GB RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, 3520mAh battery and also a Huawei Mate 7 style fingerprint sensor.
So, overall the Gionee Elife E8 turns out to be a powerful handset. Now, we just wait for the official launch of the device which should be pretty soon.
MSTAR has just revealed more details about its upcoming MSTAR S700 smartphone. The specs show that the phone will be targeted at the mid-range market.
The MSTAR S700 comes with the powerful MT6752 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz with 2GB RAM on board. There will be Mali-T760 GPU as well as 16GB of expandable storage on the device. Up front, you get a large 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.

As for the camera, there will be a 13MP shooter with True LED flash at the back along with a 5MP shooter up front. The phone supports dual SIM dual standby and high-speed 4G LTE networks as well. The full supported network bands are as follows: FDD-LTE Band 1/3/7/20 (B1:2100, B3:1800, B7:2600, B20:800MHz).
Finally, there will be a large 3000mAh battery on board to make sure that the phone runs for more than a day. The MSTAR S700 runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and measures 8.8mm in thickness. Also, it weighs about 173 grams.
The highlight of the device is its rear placed fingerprint sensor. Yes, along with such good specs, MSTAR has made sure that the S700 has an advantage over others with a fingerprint sensor. The company claims that the identification takes only about a second.
The MSTAR S700 will go on sale for a price tag of $169.99, however, during the pre-sale period, retailers are offering the device for as low as 139.99.
Yes, from May 18 to May 20, you can get the device for just $139.99, which is an extremely cheap price for the specs that the device offers.
From May 21 to May 26, you can get the MSTAR S700 for just $159.99. And finally, from May 27 to May 31, the price increases to $169.99 which is the retail price, but you get a free 16GB memory card with the device!
Overall, the MSTAR S700 looks like a great device for its price tag. The pre-sale price will become active from May 18 on Geekbuying. You can check out the device from the buy now link below.
