Huawei may not be releasing its flagship smartphones like Huawei P8 or even the successor to the Ascend Mate 7. However, that doesn’t mean that the company won’t show off a new product at MWC. The company earlier released a series of teasers which said that “Next Is Here”. It didn’t take much time to figure out that the teaser could be for the upcoming Huawei smartwatch. And now, the company has released a new teaser video which once again could be for the Huawei smartwatch.
The video uploaded on Youku comes with the title, “You can’t imagine your world can be like this”(translated). This Chinese giant is definitely on to something and we have a fair idea as to what it could be.
The company had confirmed last month that it was readying a smartwatch this year. And latest rumors said that the watch was quite good. While we still have no clue about the features of the upcoming watch, the teaser does make us want to believe that Hauwei may have a great feature up its sleeve on the new watch.
We don’t know what it could be, but we hope that its something to do with battery. One of the biggest drawbacks of smartwatches these days is battery life and at this juncture, its very hard to imagine a smartwatch with good specs and display to have a good battery life. So, did Huawei solve this big problem?
Well, we don’t have to wait too long to get to know that since the company will announce the new product on 1st March 2015. We also expect the Huawei X2 to debut at the event. The device is said to come with a 7-inch 1920 x 1200 resolution display, Huawei Hisilicon Kirin 925 processor with 3GB RAM and 5500 mAh battery. The price could be anywhere around 1999 Yuan, which comes to around $320.
We recently came to know that Gionee was going to announce the slimmest smartphone in the market at MWC 2015. The device is said to be the Gionee Elife S7 which would feature a 4.6mm thin body. Now, it looks like the S7 won’t be the only smartphone that will be debuting at MWC this year. Along with a range of anticipated flagships like Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9, Gionee will also unveil a new device, the Gionee Elife E8 with high end specs.
Thanks to a recent leak, we know almost everything about the upcoming smartphone. The specs sheet reveals a powerful 2.2Ghz octa-core processor (probably a Mediatek SoC). The highlight of the device is its 4GB RAM, which should make sure that the phone runs very smoothly. There will be 32GB / 64GB internal storage options along with a MicroSD card slot which can take cards up to 128GB in size.
The screen is rumored to be around 5.7-6 inches in size with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 protection, making it as large as the Galaxy Note 4. For camera, you can expect powerful 18MP rear snapper and a 10MP front shooter.
Interestingly, the leak shows that the phone could be around 10mm thick which is quite the opposite of what Gionee is trying with its Gionee S7. Other features include Android 5.0 Lollipop, 4G LTE connectivity and 3000 mAh battery.
While the specs look really good, there are some things which doesn’t add up. First of all, the thickness is said to be around 10mm and the battery will be just average at 3000 mAh, so why would a large screen phone be so thick? Moreover, Gionee is usually known for its super slim phones and if this is a flagship model, it would be logical to make the phone slim too. So, unless there’s like a hidden feature which requires a large body (camera sensor perhaps?), it doesn’t make sense for the phone to be so thick.
But even if we decide to believe this info, there’s still doubt about the authenticity of the leak. The picture says the phone will be 5G compatible and may also run on Android Milkshake. There’s nothing concrete about the leak. So, its best to take this news with a pinch of salt and wait till MWC, which is just a few days away to see what Gionee has in store for us fans at the event.
Xiaomi India has posted in its facebook page that Mi4 16 gb model will give away its registration model and enter in to an open sale model. I guess this is in the backdrop of muted response that Mi4 16 gb received in its previous sales.
Also, #Mi4 16GB will be available on @Flipkart from Feb 26th – No registration required!
Make no mistake Mi4 is pretty good device, But with Lack of 4g and Micro SD card slot, the 16gb version had few takers. Given that there are other cheaper options such as Oneplus One and Honor Holly 6. There is also consensus between Bloggers and fans MI4 was priced a tad higher which made it loose its appeal.
Meizu announced the Meizu M1 smartphone last month to directly take on the Redmi 2 and Huawei Honor Holly in the budget segment. Even before the release of the handset, we saw three different versions of the device in a leaked picture. Now, Meizu has just made the second version available for pre-order.
The regular version will run on Android 4.4.4 KitKat along with the company’s own Flyme 4.0 UI on top. In this edition, the Meizu M1 will run on Alibaba’s own YunOS for smartphones. This is not the first time we are seeing a YunOS powered Meizu device (MX4 also had this edition) and after buying a large stake in the company, we don’t think this will be the last one too.
Apart from the OS underneath, there is practically no difference between the Android Flyme edition and the YunOS edition. A previous leaked had shown the three editions in action and the AnTuTu benchmark for all the three models were almost the same. So, we kind of knew that there will be no change in specs or even the design in this new edition. Fortunately, the pricing too is the same as the regular edition i.e. 699 Yuan.
The YunOS Meizu M1 was available for pre-order from yesterday and it will go on sale starting March 2nd.
The earlier leak also showed off an Ubuntu Edition too, but as of now, this particular model is not yet available for sale. It would be interesting to see how Ubuntu powered Meizu M1 performs and if it is indeed real, then we may hear more about this version in the coming weeks.
With MCW right around the corner, Chinese Smartphoners makers are gearing up to put it an show in Barcelona. Rumors and speculation are spreading around various variants of MX4.
Meizu today teased in their weibo account that MX4 will carry three variants. The three variants of MX4 will carry Flyme OS, Ubuntu & Yun os. Its expected Ubuntu variant will be launched first.
The Meizu Mx4 comes with 5.36 ” inch screen 1920*1152 pixel display, MT6595 Octacore processor, sony 20.6 MP IMX220 Exmor camera, 5 MP front cam
Earlier today Xiaomi teased us with a new product which will will Launched on 3rd march 10 am. From the teasers we can assume that the product is going to light weight and also related to Travelling.
If previous rumors are believed it is small and a product like Go pro Hero series or a better product than that. Adding to that xiaomi price tag will make this product even more attractive
We have to wait and see whether it carries 4k video recording, in built touch display and also we expect it to come with standard connectivity options like Bluetooth and Wifi etc.
No.1 is usually known for making cheap clones of famous flagship smartphones. However, this time around, the company decided to do something out of the ordinary. It first released the No.1 X1 rugged smartphone with great specs, which is something that usually is not found on a smartphone in this niche.
However, just after a few weeks of the launch of the X1, the company decided to take things to a whole new level. Meet No.1 X2, the second generation model which puts every other rugged smartphone to shame. Not only can this super strong smartphone survive anything, but it also comes with features that is considered mid-range in smartphones. This makes the No.1 X2 very attractive and those who were worried about sacrificing their entertainment needs when buying a rugged phone can finally have everything in just one phone.
We were really surprised to see No.1 offer such a great phone, so we decided to do a No.1 X2 review. We have already added a lot of new pictures of the device in our previous articles, but here, we have many more real life images along with some more details about its features and performance.
So, lets directly move on to the No.1 X2 review.
DESIGN
In the box of the No.1 X2 smartphone, you’ll find a the device itself, a charger, USB cable, manuals as well as headphones. We also got an additional screen protector for the device right inside the box.
One thing we noticed about the cable is that the MicroUSB pin is a bit longer than our traditional cable. This is because, the ports on the phone are covered and they are located more inward than traditional slots. So, you may have to take care of this cable as regular ones may not work well with the phone.
Design wise, the No.1 X2 is a great smartphone. In fact, the chrome and black color combination gives it a unique look. These types of phones are large and bulky and look like a brick. While, the X2 isn’t the thinnest of the phones around, it still is extremely thin when you compare it with other rugged phones which are around 17mm thick.
1 of 8
Even with the colorful design, the bold lines at the back and the solid construction will give you an idea that this is not a regular phone. And if you don’t like the chrome color scheme, you can opt for a full black version too.
No.1 X2 is quite big for a rugged smartphone. Usually, these type of phones sport a 4.5-inch display, so as to reduce the real estate that could be damaged. However, the X2 is a true phablet with its 5.5-inch display on the front. While this increases the size of the phone, it truly can replace your smartphone as it can even fulfill your entertainment needs.
Overall, the phone does look tough and solidly built. It may not be the toughest smartphone in the market, but then, it doesn’t necessarily have to, since you get a lot of features that others rugged phones don’t offer.
Above the large display lies the receiver mesh, sensors and the front camera. Below, you’ll find three menu, back and home capacitive buttons. Coming to the back, you have the speaker grill at the bottom, IP68 Certified logo in the middle and the 13MP camera and LED flash on top. The 3.5mm headphone jack on top as well as the MicroUSB port at the bottom are covered quite well to keep away water and dust.
The back is not entirely removable, but using the tool provided in the box, you can remove a particular part to insert SIM cards and MicroSD card into the device. Since, this is a dual SIM phone, you have two card slots, one standard SIM and the other MicroSIM. The MicroSD card slot can take cards up to 32GB in size.
DISPLAY
As mentioned above, this is one of the biggest display’s we have seen on a rugged phone. Moreover, the HD Panel is quite crisp and clear. The 5.5-inch display will have a resolution of 1280 x 720p. Since No.1 X2 is a rugged phone, the phone will have Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 protection at the front to prevent any scratches or accidental damage.
Overall, the display looks quite good. Its just like any other HD phones that you may have used, only a lot stronger and well built!
HARDWARE & PERFORMANCE
The best thing about the new No.1 X2 is the mid-range Snapdragon 410 processor inside. This makes it one of the better rugged phones out there in the market with good specs. Along with this Snapdragon chipset, there is 1GB of RAM onboard for smooth performance. To be honest, we would have loved to have 2GB RAM onboard which would have improved the performance of the device to a great extent, but even with this 1GB RAM, things are pretty smooth.

In our testing, we hardly experienced lag, except for instances where we had a number of apps running in the background. So, if you manage to keep apps to a limited number on the device at one time, performance should be satisfactory. Inside, you have 8GB of internal storage, of which you get 5.5GB available. So, you get plenty of space to install your favorite apps from the Google Play Store. Moreover, for your media, you can anytime transfer it to an external card (up to 32GB in size), to free up your internal storage.
Since this is a rugged phone, we tested out the GPS connectivity and surprisingly it was pretty good. Outdoors, the device locked on to the satellites pretty fast and it could quickly lock on to our location. So, you will have no problems there. Unfortunately, there’s no GLONASS support.
We also had the time to test out the speakers at the back, and surprising they were quite loud. Ofcourse, don’t expect clarity like HTC’s boom sound, but according to our testing, the sound output was above average.
In the AnTuTu benchmark testing, the device got around 19,000 points, which is decent for a rugged device. So performance was quite smooth too.
According to our game testing, the device played some games flawlessly, but some lagged a bit. For example, we had a hard time playing NOVA 3 on the phone, but real racing 3 was very smooth. So, it really depends on the optimization of the phone for the GPU, but in general, less graphics intensive games should work just fine.
The best feature of the phone is probably its FDD 4G LTE connectivity. Rugged phones usually don’t have this high speed network support and this is exactly what sets the No.1 X2 apart from other rivals.
Since, this is a rugged phone, we had to check out the overall built and rugged nature of the device. First of all, we dipped the phone in water for a while and everything worked perfectly well.
During the time of our use, we tried to handle it roughly and we couldn’t find any visible scratches on the device too. The overall built quality of the No.1 X2 was quite good. But if you go out and compare it with other costly rugged alternatives, then the plastic on the phone may not be as hard as some of the competitors, at least it feels that way.
But it doesn’t seem like the plastic will break or get scratches. So, for your everyday adventure, this phone should work perfectly fine.
BATTERY
One of the biggest highlights of the phone is its 4500 mAh battery. To keep its rugged nature, the company had to make the battery non-removable. However, we don’t think you’ll need an extra battery on your outing because according to our testing this large battery will easily last you a day with heavy gaming and entertainment usage. And if you keep things moderate, you can get up to two day’s worth battery life or even more on the device.
From our testing we could get up to 6 hours 10minutes from the device with YouTube on continuous playback. That’s very impressive given that it sports a large 5.5-inch display.
So, you won’t have to worry about battery life on the No.1 X2.
CAMERA
Camera performance was quite decent. Like most Chinese smartphones in the market with a 13MP camera, the No.1 X2 too captures good shots under ample light. However, things got a bit grainy in low light conditions. LED flash does help in very dull lighting but still we have seen 13MP cameras perform better than the one on the No.1 X2.
But there are a number of options that you can play around in the camera which may help you to capture slightly better pictures.
On the front, you get a 5MP camera, which performs quite well. Its enough to take selfies and start video calls.
Anyways, check out some of the samples below.
1 of 3
SOFTWARE
The phone comes with Android 4.4 KitKat version out of the box. The best thing about No.1 X2 is that it comes with all the useful Google Apps (GAPPS) pre-loaded on the device. So, you don’t have to worry about rooting or installing these apps separately. Right from the moment you get the phone, you can install any Android apps (whether free or paid) to your device. Other google apps like GMAIL also make it to the phone.
Apart from this, there are not many customizations on the device. We feel this is a very good move by the company because stock Android UI is always good, and it makes the device much more fluid. And things were quite smooth, thanks to Snapdragon 410 and 1GB RAM.
PRICING & AVAILABILITY
No.1 X2 is available from a number of sellers at the moment. Prices start at $199 and can go up to $225, depending upon the seller.
Meanwhile, check out our post on the best Chinese online stores to buy where we review famous sellers on the basis of their popularity, background, pricing and other features.
A few days back, we published the best first class Chinese stores to do online shopping. However, it won’t be possible to get everything from those two stores alone. Also, there are a few sellers who have build up a reputation for good service and we believe they have great potential to turn out to be one of the best stores online. In this article, we are going to list these stores, which have shown great promise and your shopping experience will definitely be positive in most cases. The reason why we didn’t add it to the first class list is because they still have to build the kind of strong customer base and reputation as lightinthebox and dealextreme. But, that doesn’t mean they are bad and if the store has made it to this list means, you can relax and buy products from these stores too.
NOTES:
I know there must be some things that you may not understand in this post. So, I’ll explain them before you check them out.
First of all, each review has two options. First is a full version where I have given some details. However in the second option, i.e. SCORING, you can find all the relevant information in a table with their respective scores.
In the first option, which is a lot more informative, I have added some links to their deals pages as well as ALEXA + Facebook source links, in case you are interested in checking them out. You can also check out the review links from both resellerratings.com as well as trustpilot wherever available. Finally, you can even check out the different famous media websites which have covered these sellers along with their source links.
However, those who would like a concise version can skip directly to scoring to see where the seller ranks among others.
SOME TERMS EXPLAINED
Alexa Traffic Rank is a rough measure of a website’s popularity, compared with all the others out there on the internet. The lower the rank, the better.
“IN THE NEWS” means the number of news media websites that have linked to these resellers. Clearly, the more the media coverage, the better the reputation of the website. Hence, we have added that parameter too.
Finally, to those who are wondering about the scores, I have given them according to the best possible figure in each parameter. For example, those websites which have experience of 6 or more years get a score of 4-5, while those relatively new get around 3-4 points. Similarly, for contact, those websites which have live chat and are available from Monday to Saturday naturally get more points than those just available on weekdays.
Also, we need a big sample to get a proper review rating of a website, hence, I have used the average scores from resellerratings.com and Trust pilot. In case you have never heard of these websites, they are well known for reviewing e-commerce platforms. Since, I have added source links, you can check them out directly from the reviews section of each seller.
Given that reviews and media attention are very vital for an online store, I have given more points to both the parameters. So, the reviews will be out of 30 and the media coverage out of 20 points.
It took a lot of time to finally complete the research and organize everything. I hope everyone benefits from this for their online purchases.

Pandawill has very attractive prices. According to our research, the prices are almost the same as what other retailers offer and sometimes after discount, the prices turn out to be the cheapest.
The best thing about Pandawill is its reliability. Our research tells us that Pandawill customers are very much satisfied, thanks to its prompt customer support system. You get genuine and good quality products at very attractive prices which makes this particular seller quite good. The only reason that Pandawill is not included in the first class china stores list is because it was established in 2009, while the top two stores had almost 10 years of experience in the market. Still, the seller has managed to market itself as one of the top stores in China, which is commendable.

Last year’s NVIDIA Tegra K1 turned out to be a very powerful processor. In fact, in the single core test on GeekBench, the SoC managed a score of over 1900 points, making it the leader.
This year, at CES 2015, the company announced its latest processor, the NVIDIA Tegra X1 which is supposed to be a super powerful eight core beast all set to put SoC’s like Snapdragon 810 to shame. The processor is said to feature eight 64-bit cores along with 256 core GPU, increasing the performance to twice that of last year’s K1.
Now, we have spotted a device powered with this super powerful processor and as expected, the benchmark results are off the charts! According to AnTuTu’s benchmark entry of a device with Tegra X1, it managed to score over 70,000 points. To be specific, it scored 74,977 points! This makes it the first device to actually break the 70,000 points barrier, showing off the actual power of this beast.
The CPU performance score is over 10,000 points and the 3D performance score is over 21,000 points even with 4K resolution support. That’s pretty impressive for a mobile device!
Unfortunately, we still don’t know when we will finally see the Tegra X1 in action. Not many devices used the K1 processor but hopefully, if the SoC’s performance is as good as this entry, then we are all the more excited to see a device with Tegra X1 in action.
So what do you think about this benchmark result? Impressed?
We have spotted a new deal for our Indian readers. Amazon.in have started selling Samsung’s two year old flagship, Samsung Galaxy S4 at just Rs. 17,999. This is a great price for a device like the S4 which comes with flagship specs. While many would argue that the S4 is a two year old device, and you are right. But the specs are still enough to compete with any device that retails for under Rs. 20,000.
Another important thing to note is that the device is getting Android 5.0 Lollipop! So, even though this is almost two year’s old, you can enjoy the latest Android update on the device.
In the past few years, we have received plenty of requests from our readers to compile a list of the best Chinese stores to buy online. Today, there are hundreds of different options online when it comes to buying Chinese gadgets and electronics and most of the time, users are confused as to which one to select from these long list of e-stores.
Pricing is not the only thing that matters! You need genuine good quality products, fast shipping as well as an excellent support system to provide the best customer experience.
So, today, we decided to simplify things for you. After researching for a long time and getting feedback from our readers, we have compiled a list of the best Chinese stores to buy gadgets. These are reputed sites that have been in the market for a long time. So, they are well established and safe to buy your favorite products.
Lets not waste any more time and move to the list. This is the first such article which will focus on the best China stores. We have found two sites that have always been reliable all these years and hence, they have got our special first class status.
We have reviewed the two sites, namely lightinthebox.com and dx.com on a number of categories and you will know why they can be regarded as the first class Chinese stores that you can rely anytime.

Lightinthebox is not just an electronics store. The company has a very wide variety of products on their website, all with free and fast shipping.
The website has been in the market for the past 9 years and has established itself as a reputed and reliable online store. Most of the customers who purchased from lightinthebox had positive things to say about the company. The fact that the company has been around for almost 10 years now is a good indicator of the reliability of the store.
The company has invested a lot of money to generate this kind of trust in the market and that’s why many of the listed products are costlier than other cheap websites. From our research, many of the electronic items on the store were about $10-$15 costlier than competitors.
However, the difference is not surprising given their reputation in the market.

Lighinthebox has received majority of positive reviews. Most of the time, the items are as shown on the website and reviewers have particularly pointed this out. We found that a majority of the bad reviews were for the late shipping times and even for that we have seen the seller contact the reviewer for support.
Overall, we feel lighinthebox is a great website for online buying and hence, we give it a first class rating. This means you can buy the product without worrying too much about the quality or support for the product as in most cases, your orders will be shipped fine without any problems.
Unfortunately, even with hundreds of sellers in the market right now, reliability is hard to come by. As a result, we find it only fair to give it a first class status.

Most of the buyers were satisfied with their purchases on the website, with only a few who experienced trouble. Most of the complaints about the website were about slow shipping and sometimes defective products. But according to our research, the customer service of the website is pretty good and majority of the time, the problems got solved quickly.

A few weeks back, we reported about a new iPhone 6 clone called as the Dakele 3. The device was one of the best iPhone clones that we have seen till date, bringing high end specs along with a beautiful design.
Many readers asked us when the phone was going for sale. Now, we finally have some more information about the device.
The Dakele 3 is currently available for sale from a number of resellers on TMall.com. There are two different versions of the device, and the one we spotted on TMall was the high end Dakele 3. There’s another variant of the phone, the Dakele 3X which comes with less powerful specs and a cheaper price tag. However, this particular device retails for 1699 Yuan which comes to around $272. Unfortunately, we could only find the Chinese mainland edition of the phone.
To recap on the specs, the Dakele 3 comes with a titanium chassis and aircraft grade aluminum body. You get a Full HD 1080p 5-inch display up front with Sapphire glass protection. Inside, there’s an MT6752 octa-core 64-bit processor which powers the device along with 3GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. For camera, you get a 13MP Sony IMX214 rear camera with an 8MP Sony IMX219 front shooter. It supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, TDD-LTE, TD-SCDMA/ GSM connectivity. Finally, for battery you get a 2500mAh one at the back.
The phone is priced at 1499 Yuan officially, but if you want to be ahead of others, you will have to shell out the above mentioned $270 to get hold of the device. Still, even with this pricing, it looks like a very good deal.
Anyways, we’ll keep you guys updated if we spot the phone on international resellers anytime soon. So, stay tuned!
Meanwhile you can check out the review of the device here.
Also, if you are looking for iPhone clones, check out the Blackview Ultra, which retails at a much cheaper price but with lower specs.
Huawei is slowly establishing itself as a reputed smartphone and tablet maker. We have seen some great phones from this Chinese company like the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 and event the Honor 6 Plus. Now, it looks like the company is all set to take things to the next level.
Huawei just released two teaser images with the title “NEXT IS HERE”. Now, we can take a guess of what the company means by NEXT in this image. Huawei had recently confirmed that the company was planning to release a Huawei smartwatch this year. We expected it to be sometime later in 2015, however looks like we may be able to see the device as early as MWC 2015.
In the teaser image, you can see a crescent shape with a star at the end. While the image fails to explain what it means, we think it could be hinting at a curved Huawei smartwatch. We have already seen Samsung’s Gear S watch with a curved screen and Huawei’s smartwatch too could feature something like that. The next here could mean the next version of its Huawei smartband released last year, and what better upgrade than a new smartwatch!
The second image could be for the next device which is due for an update. The Huawei X1 tablet! So, this year at MWC 2015, we could be seeing the next generation model of the Huawei tablet, the all new Huawei Mediapad X2. According to recent leaks, the device is said to come with a 7-inch 1920 x 1200 resolution display, Huawei Hisilicon Kirin 925 processor with 3GB RAM and 5500 mAh battery. The price is said to be around 1999 Yuan which comes to $320.
Another important information revealed is the presence of 4G LTE. Yes, the image has the ‘4G LTE’ words on the top left corner which possibly means that the watch could be a stand alone device, with support for the high speed 4G LTE networks. This would really take things to the next level. However, we hope that battery is big enough to support such high speed connections which consumes a lot of power. The second image too has the 4G LTE logo which means the tablet phone will support this network.
So could Huawei really “Make It Possible”? We still haven’t found the perfect smartwatch which is a blend of the best design, features, battery as well as affordability. We know Huawei has the ability as well as resources to unveil a great smartwatch and we do hope to see something different and better than current offerings in the market.
MWC 2015 is just a few days away, so stay tuned for more information.
Meanwhile, can you think of what the crescent shape and the star as well as the shape in the second image mean?
We are just a few days away from the official launch of the Samsung Galaxy S6. This is probably the most popular device expected at MWC this year and we are already hearing a lot of good things about the Samsung flagship.
Now, even before the launch of the S6, Oppomart has listed a number of Galaxy S6 cases on its website. Not one, but a total of 10 cases have been spotted. There are cases made of silicone for basic protection, flip covers and even ultra-durable shockproof TPU cases for the device.
This is not the first time we are hearing about cases for the upcoming Samsung flagship. There were several other listings in the past two weeks, showing off the possible size of the device.
Galaxy S6 Case from Verus
Samsung is yet to officially announce any details of the phone, but the company recently said that the camera on the S6 is going to be amazing. A recent benchmark result, showed of the true power of the Samsung Exynos 7420 octa-core SoC which now takes the lead in the multi-core test on GFXbench. S6 will come with this powerful processor, which will clearly make it one of the best devices in the market.
Another important thing highlighted by recent rumors is the shift from the boring traditional plastic design to the Galaxy Alpha like metal design. One of the most criticized areas of the company flagship is now expected to be its biggest plus point.
There are a lot of other features rumored like Samsung’s own payment service but we can’t be sure of those features until we hear an official word from the company.
For those who are wondering about the phone’s release day, a recent report said that the Galaxy S6 will release on March 22 this year.
Lenovo and Huawei are probably the two well known tech giants from China also trying out their luck in the smartphone market.
Huawei, has managed to create its own style with its beautiful looking Huawei Ascend Mate, P flagship series as well as the Huawei Honor series. On the hand, Lenovo has consistently struggled in carving out its own space in the market. The Lenovo Vibe Z as well as the Lenovo Vibe X did show some promise, but none have been highly successful.
In fact, the company had to resort to Apple for designing a new affordable smartphone. In case, you didn’t get it till now, we are talking about the recently announced Lenovo Sisley S90. Now it looks like the company’s latest favorite is Vivo as a new Lenovo smartphone has just hit TENAA showing off a design much similar to the Vivo X series phones.
The phone with the model number A6800 comes with a 5-inch 1080 x 720p display. Yes, this is a weird resolution for a 5-inch display, so for now, we think its a mistake. Further, the phone comes with MT6732 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage which is further expandable. There is a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front shooter. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS and supports 4G LTE/ 3G and GSM networks. For colors, users can choose between, gold, silver and white.
The specs are nothing out of the ordinary and makes the Lenovo A6800 a mid-range device.
We still don’t know the battery, pricing or availability details of the device. But since this phone has made it to TENAA, expect more information in the next few weeks.
Full Lenovo A6800 Specs are as given below
Available colors silver, gold, white
body size 142.8 × 70.9 × 7.5 ( mm)
Weight 142.6 (g)
5-inch capacitive TFT display, 16m colors
MT6732 quad-core 1.5GHz
1GB RAM + 8GB ROM (MicroSD: Yes)
Connectivity features: GSM, TD-SCDMA, TD- LTE, LTE FDD
Network frequency : 900MHz, 1800MHz, 1900MHz, 2GHz, Band 38, Band 39, Band 40,1.9GHz
MT6595 was one of the best processors released by Mediatek in the past few months. However, we didn’t see many smartphones running this octa-core SoC. In fact, most smartphone these days are opting for a slightly slower but with a 64-bit architecture, MT6752. Mediatek’s MT6795 will reportedly bring the 64-bit architecture to the high end platform and now, we have a glimpse of what could be the first smartphone to use this processor.
A recent entry on GFXBench reveals some of the details of a device code named k6795v1_64. The entry is interesting because it shows that the phone runs on the MT6795 processor along with 3GB RAM. MT6795 is based on the ARM’s Cortex A53 architecture (not A57 which is a lot more powerful but battery consuming) with eight cores clocked at 1.9GHz. For GPU, the phone has PowerVR G6200. The listing also reveals that the phone features a 5MP camera and a 4.6-inch 2K display! Finally, it comes with 32GB internal storage and runs on the latest Android 5.0 OS.
The overall specifications of the phone are quite unusual, especially with a 2K display on a 4.6-inch screen as well as a low end 5MP shooter.
However, we think this might be a test unit and not a retail product. Companies are known to test their products on various benchmark sites before releasing it publicly and this just might be the case here. One more reason why we think this is the test unit is because of the naming. The phone is code named k6795v1_64, development board. So, this could just be a unit assembled for testing the capability of the processor.
We expect a lot of new high end affordable smartphones with 2K display and even 3GB RAM to feature this powerful 64-bit MT6795 processor. It could be even mainstream companies like HTC, which is rumored to release a Mediatek powered variant of its flagship device, HTC One M9 in the coming months.
Anyways, stay tuned to the website for more details. Also, check out the GFXBench link down below for more info.
We recently came to know that Gionee was planning to launch a new smartphone in the market which would most likely overthrow the Vivo X5 Max Ivvi K1 Mini as the thinnest smartphone in the world. The company is reportedly launching the device at one of the world’s top tech events of the year, the MWC 2015.
Now, a Gionee device has hit TENAA, revealing all the key specifications of the device. The Gionee GN-9006 model actually makes things a lot more interesting as if it turns out to be the device that the company will show off at MWC, then fans are definitely going to be disappointed. This is because, Gionee GN-9006 is reportedly coming with a 5.5mm body, which although is very slim, won’t make it the slimmest smartphone in the world. The previous rumors claimed that Gionee S7 will have a 4.6mm body.
While TENAA certifications doesn’t reveal the name of the device, there are certain reasons we believe this could be the one showcased at the event. First of all, the pictures uploaded on the TENAA page looks a lot similar to the ones that were leaked two days back — Gionee S7. Further, the company’s previous flagship super slim device, the Gionee S5.1 had the model number GN-9005, which means this new device directly succeeds the previous one. Also, the leak said that the phone will have a 2700 mAh battery which would be practically impossible to incorporate in a device with just 4.6mm thickness. So, there’s the Gionee S7 is not as thin as we expect.
Other tech specs of the Gionee GN9006 are high end. They are as follows:
5.2-inch 1080P resolution display
13MP rear camera + 8Mp front camera
Supports 4G LTE networks (China Unicom)
Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS version
Colors: Black, White and Blue
Measurements: 148.8 × 72.4 × 5.5 (mm)
Weight: 126.5 (g)
There’s a very slight possibility that the rumored Gionee S7 with 4.6mm body could be a totally different phone. But we can’t confirm that at the moment and hence, we will have to wait for an official word from the company, which will probably be directly at MWC 2015.
Meizu made a breakthrough in the market by announcing the two new affordable yet powerful smartphones, Meizu M1 Note and the 5-inch Meizu M1. Both the devices bring tremendous value in this once boring low end segment. Only a few other smartphones like the Xiaomi Redmi 2 and a handful of Chinese phones, can even come close to the value for money quotient that these devices bring to the table.
Since, both the devices are from the same family and even looks similar, we decided to review them together. So, lets take a look at the Meizu M1 Note vs Meizu M1 comparison.
Like always, we will take a look at a number of parameters such as the design, display, hardware, battery, camera and even software.
DESIGN
Well, both the Meizu M1 Note as well as the Meizu M1 have derived inspiration from the two smartphones in the Meizu’s top end lineup, the Meizu MX4 and the Meizu MX4 Pro. In fact, the design is a very good indicator of the phone’s brand. If you have ever seen the Meizu MX4, you’ll instantly recognize that both the M1 Note and the Meizu M1 come from the same family.
Meizu M1 Note, like the name suggests is the bigger model of the two. It comes with a 5.5-inch display, which makes it even bigger than the flagship MX4. The measurements of the M1 Note comes to 150.7 x 75.2 x 8.9 mm which is pretty decent for a phone with a 5.5-inch screen. On the other hand, the M1 comes with the measurements, 140.2 x 72.1 x 8.9 mm. As you can see, both the models have the exact same thickness, 8.9mm.
Since the M1 Note is larger, it feels as though the device is narrower than the M1. But as you can see from the measurements, the phone is indeed a bit more broad around 3.1mm. This makes the M1 Note look more like the MX4 Pro and the M1 like the Meizu MX4.
On top of both the device’s displays, you have the exact same components. So, there’s the receiver mesh and sensors and front camera on the right. One thing to note here is that the front camera on both the models are exactly the same – OV5670 5-megapixel sensor, F / 2.0 aperture and wide-angle 69 ° lens.
Even below the display, things are similar. So, you have the trademark Meizu round home button with a breathing notification light. The bezels on the phones are pretty thin considering their competitors. They are narrow and blend well with the display.
The sides are a bit protruding on both the phones which can actually save your display from directly hitting the ground if its falls. While this may cause some issue while using the touch screen display, we think its actually a better design especially when it can save the display.
The back cover is made of polycarbonate material on both the devices. This gives it a very appealing look, which is something that’s not usually found on phones in this price range. However, you will have to be careful while handling the device, especially if you have sweaty palms. Also, the Meizu M1 being the smaller model, is more comfortable to hold as compared to the M1 Note.
On top of both the devices lies the 3.5mm headphone jack, a microphone opening as well as the power button. At the bottom, you have the speakers, microUSB and microphone.
On the left side, you have the volume keys while on the right, you have the slot for the SIM card slot(s). Now, here things get interesting. Meizu M1 Note comes with NO MicroSD card slot. Instead, the slot on the right will habor two SIM cards making it a dual SIM dual standby supported phone. On the other hand, the 5-inch Meizu M1 comes with a MicroSD card slot too (Yay!) but then supports only one SIM card. It was essential for M1 to come with a memory card slot since it features just 8GB of storage. On the other hand, the M1 Note comes with 16GB / 32GB storage options.
Overall, both the phones look well built and premium. However, if we had to change one thing from both the devices, it will have to be the power button on the top. It simply doesn’t feel natural to reach out to the top side just to power on the device. This is especially a big problem when the phone becomes larger like in the case of 5.5-inch M1 Note. But its not something we couldn’t manage and hence, we feel a few hours of use will make the action more natural.
DISPLAY
This time, we could analyze the display to a great extent on both the devices. First of all, we have two other top end flagship phones for comparison with these two Blue Charm devices namely the Meizu MX4 and the HTC One M8. This should give you guys a better idea as to how these budget phones compare with those two top end phones.
The Meizu M1 Note comes with a 5.5-inch IGZO display with a full HD 1920 x 1080p resolution. On the other hand, the Meizu M1 features a 5-inch 1280 x 768 resolution TFT capacitive LCD display. Both the displays are protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3. The M1 Note features a screen to body ratio of 72.9% while the Meizu M1 sports a ratio of 69.9%. Interestingly, the Meizu M1 features dual domain pixel technology on its display which will help in improving the viewing angles of the phone.
Coming to the screen contrasts, the four models that we will be comparing use different display technologies. As a result, don’t expect similar results and any difference that you may see could be just because the phone uses a different panel.
Have a look at the images below. On top row there is the Meizu MX4 and the HTC One M8 on the right. At the bottom row, there is the Meizu M1 Note and then the Meizu M1 lying on its right.

Here are some images displayed on these devices.
HARDWARE SPECS
Meizu M1 Note naturally comes with the better hardware of the two. The phablet features the recently announced MT6752 64-bit octa-core processor from Mediatek clocked at 1.7GHz. On the other hand, the Meizu M1 features the 64-bit MT6732 quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. Both the processors are based on ARM’s Cortex A53 architecture and comes with Mali T760 GPU.
M1 Note has an additional RAM module, which adds up to 2GB as compared to M1’s 1GB RAM. Also, the storage is much higher, 16GB / 32GB options as opposed to Meizu M1’s 8GB storage. However, as mentioned above, the for the slightly additional storage and Dual SIM support, you’ll have to live with whatevery storage that comes inbuilt on the Meizu M1 Note, as there’s no slot for a memory card.
Performance wise naturally Meizu M1 Note outdid the MT6732 quad-core processor on the M1 by a considerable margin. In the AnTuTu test we consistently got around 41,000 points on the M1 Note. On the other hand, the M1 could only score upto 30,000 in the same test.
You will experience some slight lag while using the M1, but its only when there are a lot of heavy duty applications opened. Under normal usage, the device performed pretty well. We could get a maximum of 568MB RAM free on the device at any time. This reduced to around 100-150MB when we opened up a new app. However, in practical usage, it doesn’t cause much issues. Like we mentioned above, just make sure you don’t open a lot of apps and things will be pretty smooth.
Coming to the MT6752 octa-core M1 Note, we had no issues with this device. Everything was butter smooth and apps too opened up very quickly.
Connectivity features are exactly the same, except for Dual SIM support on the Meizu M1 Note. The supported network bands are as follows:
Camera is one of the most important features that users look for in a smartphone these days. In this regard, both the phones does not disappoint. You will be happy with its camera if you are reasonable with your expectations. To be frank, you won’t get Galaxy Note 4 like picture quality and that’s acceptable. What you will get though is decent image quality especially when there’s enough light. There is noise prevalent on images captured on both the devices, but then Meizu is not really famous for its stellar camera phones and hence, it isn’t surprising.
Moreover, the rear camera module is the same on M1 Note as well as the M1. So, you get the Samsung’s 13 million-pixel CMOS sensor size of 1 / 3.06 inches with F / 2.2 aperture. So, camera performance under normal lighting conditions should be more or less the same. But it will differ a bit at night shooting as the M1 Note comes with dual LED Dual Tone flash as opposed to the single LED flash on the Meizu M1. The rear camera module is capable of recording 1080p videos at 30 fps. However at this resolution, the video files tend to be quite large, which will definitely be a concern on the 16GB Meizu Blue Charm Note without expansion slot!
We have already specified the details about the 5MP front camera, but in case you skipped that part, here are the specs: OV5670 5-megapixel sensor, F / 2.0 aperture and wide-angle 69 ° lens.
Here are some samples for you to see of both the devices.

BATTERY
Both the phones feature non-removable batteries. The Meizu M1 Note comes with a 3140 mAh battery which is actually pretty good for a device in its price range. On the other hand, the Meizu M1 features a 2500 mAh battery. The capacity was initially 2160 mAh but Meizu recently reduced it to 2500 mAh.
The battery life on both the phones are pretty good. You get a day’s usage with moderate usage. To give you a figure, expect around 4.5-5 hours of dscreen on time on the Meizu M1 Note and a slightly less figure on the Meizu M1.
Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to test out the battery, so this is all we could get from our initial tests.
SOFTWARE
Both the phones come with the company’s latest Flyme 4.2.0 version which is based on Android 4.4 KitKat OS. Meizu has improved the Flyme OS considerably in the past few months and you can instantly see the difference. The transition effects were pretty smooth and so were the other animations.
You also get a host of other gesture features, that were available on the company’s top end devices like the Meizu MX4 and MX4 Pro. The Flyme ROM also comes with its own power saving function which can limit the usage of the device to just phone calls and text once the battery falls below a certain level. In fact, in this mode, you can extract up to 24 hours of standby with just 10% battery.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
Due to the immense popularity of Meizu M1 Note and Meizu M1 its very hard to get hold of the device directly from the company. So, you will have to resort to various online resellers to purchase the device.
While we checked out the various resellers to find out the prices online, we found a website where there were many reputed resellers listed with their prices. So, its better you check out the the website link given below if you are interested in purchasing the device.
The cheapest price we could find for the Meizu M1 Note was on aliexpress, for $199.99. But if you are not sure about aliexpress, then you can also check out Pandawill, which is a reputed reseller where the phone is listed for $209 but you can get it for around $205 with a coupon from discountion.com.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t find any trusted resellers selling Meizu M1, but we expect them to stock up in the next few weeks. We’ll update you guys with more information at that time.
We think both the models offers great value for money! What do you think about both the devices? Would you pay up a little extra to get the M1 Note or will you be happy with the $112 Meizu M1?
As nowadays each device is getting smarter and smarter, a watch, which at first sounds like a classic thing, is in the process of changing itself. Well, thanks to the smart technologies and solutions implemented in it. Some of the smart watches have developed to that extent that it can even easily replace your smartphone. Other type of smart devices are more likely just smart wearables, which are mostly dependent on your smartphone, but still have some great standalone features such as pedometer and other goodies for sports enthusiasts. We will take a look at the latter type of smart watch.
Check out our full video review of a very affordable iMacwear i5:
As you can see from our full video review embedded above, the iMacwear i5 is not that feature packed as our previously reviewed M7 model. However, you should keep in mind that these products fall into different categories and iMacwear i5 is much cheaper device.
This device definitely gets its job done as your sports and smartphone companion. We loved its great battery life both in standby and operation modes. In addition, it is waterproof, so you can use it in any weather conditions.
Also, the pedometer feature works well and lets you achieve your sports goals. Other highlight features we liked that you can literally dial and answer the phone directly from the watch and the call quality was great on both ends.
Moreover, the watch can be connected to a smartphone despite the fact that it is already connected to other bluetooth device like bluetooth headphones. Thus, you can control the music from your wrist.
What is more, the remote camera shutter is a very useful feature especially if you need to take a picture of a group of people. Also, in case you usually forget your phone, the Anti-lost system may be useful for you.
All in all, for the price tag of just $20, this is a great bang for your buck if you need the job done in the features we just mentioned.
Back in December, Ulefone Be Pro smartphone made headlines because of its high-end specs and the latest Android 5.0 update which was promised by the manufacturer. As a result, many people bought this new device. In fact, the company reported last month that it sold over 10,000 units of the device in the past few weeks alone. While everyone marketed the device as Android 5.0 Lollipop smartphone, the phone actually shipped with the old Android 4.4 KitKat version.
However, a recent video uploaded online has revealed that the Ulefone Be Pro Android 5.0 update is almost completed. The timing is in line with what the company promised. It earlier said that the phone will get the update in February / March of 2015. So, its not surprising that the Android 5.0 update is almost ready.
1 of 5
Ulefone official released a video of preview of Ulefone Be Pro equipped with Android 5.0. Ulefone take the leading position, become the first one to adapt to Android 5.0 among Chinese domestic brand manufacturer. In the past weeks, lots of manufacturers highly promote that their models adapt to Android 5.0, but there are not any actual photos or video released till now.
But Ulefone official state that this version Android 5.0 still exists several bugs, parts of functions still need to be tested. As per current progress, Android 5.0 is really coming soon. While users will be excited to hear the news, we expect the update to roll out only after a few days, since the existing bugs need to be fixed. Its always better to get an (almost) perfect update rather than a buggy one which will adversely affect the performance of the device.
After this news we are sure that the lollipop update will induce even more buyers to purchase this popular device.
You can check out the best prices at different retailers for ULEFONE BE PRO from the link below.
