Gionee had launched the S10 smartphone with dual rear and front cameras in May this year. It appears that the company is prepping up on the successor for Gionee S10 as a smartphone labelled as Gionee S11 has appeared on GFXBench benchmarking site.

The GFXBench listing has revealed that the smartphone features a 6-inch display that carries support for FHD+ resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels. The Chinese firm has recently launched Gionee M7 smartphone that houses a 6.01-inch FHD+ AMOLED display which offers an aspect ratio of 18:9.

It is likely that the Gionee S11 may feature the same 18:9 FullView Display that is available on the Gionee S10 smartphone. Since the smartphone is likely to arrive with a FullView Display, there is a possibility that it would be coming with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The MediaTek MT6763 chipset that clocks at 2.3 GHz is present under the hood of the device which features an ARM Mali-G71 graphics. The chipset of the Gionee S11 will be accompanied by 4 GB of RAM and it will be coming with an internal storage of 64 GB. The S11 will arrive loaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat that would be customized with Amigo proprietary skin from the company.

The benchmarking site has further revealed that the Gionee S11 would be coming with a 16-megapixel rear camera and a frontal camera of 5-megapixel. There is no confirmation on whether the smartphone would be featuring dual rear and front cameras. There is no information on the battery of the device. However, the smartphone may arrive with a battery of 3,500mAh capacity.

After the recently launched Gionee M7 and Steel 2 Plus smartphones, Gionee S11 could be the third smartphone from the company to arrive with FullView Display. The Gionee M7 is powered by Helio P30 processor and 6 GB of RAM. It includes a 16-megapixel + 8-megapixel dual rear camera system and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. It is packed with a 4,000mh battery. The handset is priced at 2,799 (~$425).

The Gionee Steel 2 Plus features an 18:9 FullView Display of 6 inches. It features MediaTek MT6737 chipset, 3 GB of RAM and Snapdragon 435. It has a rear camera of 13-megapixel and a front-facing shooter of 8-megapixel. It is packed with a huge 5,000mAh battery. It carriers a pricing of 1,999 Yuan (~$305).

Gionee launched the S10 back in May as its new flagship device. Packing four cameras, a Helio P25 processor and a beautiful aluminium body that comes in four colors, the S10 is truly one of Gionee’s finest.

The S10 was launched in gold, black, indigo blue, and primrose green but only the first two colors were available for purchase. Today, the blue and green variants are now available to buy for the same ¥2599 ($384) price tag.

The S10 has a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The front cameras are a 20MP + 8MP combo with it’s own LED flash and the rear cameras are a 20MP sensor and an 8MP sensor.

Battery capacity is 3450mAh and there is Amigo 4.0 based on Android Nougat running out of the box. Gionee also bundles the phone with its own AI assistant.

Don’t let the Gionee logo on the back fool you. It doesn’t double as a fingerprint scanner even though it would look better there. Instead, the biometric scanner sits below the display underneath the home button.

The new colors are available on JD.com alongside the black and gold variants.

The Gionee S10 also has two other variants. There is the Gionee S10B with only dual front cameras, 4GB RAM and a Helio P10 SoC. There is also the S10C with a smaller display, a single camera on both sides and a Snapdragon 427 mobile platform.

We can the judge the real quality of the dual cameras only after we get hands on the phone, but for now, we have to rely on the official samples from Gionee. The nine samples that we have got actually looks pretty good and the good thing here is that these samples don’t look out of the world mind-blowing. We have seen a lot of manufacturers release official samples that blow our mind, only to find the real world samples turn out to be pretty average. We hope that the processing of these samples from the Gionee S10 have been limited so that we get very similar results in real life situations.

To recap, the Gionee S10 comes with a 16MP + 8MP rear dual camera setup with 6P lens and f/1.8 aperture. On the front, you have a 20MP + 8MP dual camera setup for good looking selfies. Night time images are said to be better with the rear setup, but we’ll have to test it in real life situation to confirm it.

Gionee has finally launched the much awaited Gionee S10 flagship smartphone. It is one of the top-end models from the company this year and comes with four cameras in total, making it unique among the other dual camera flagships in the market. So, the S10 comes with dual cameras on the front as well as at the back to ensure the phone is capable of capturing amazing selfies as well as bokeh photos from both the camera setups.

Gionee S10 Design

There’s no denying that the Gionee S10 takes inspiration from the iPhone 7 Plus. The basic design is very similar to the Apple model, including the horizontal arrangement of the dual camera setup at the back.

The phone is made out of metal unibody and the back looks refined thanks to the antenna lines that are hidden along the top and bottom edges. It’s thin at 7.35mm but heavy at 178 grams. There are four color options available for the phone right now — Cherry gold, dark night black, indigo gray blue, primrose green.

Even the front is quite iPhone-like. You have dual cameras on top as well as a soft LED flash. Down below the display, you’ve got a fingerprint sensor.

Gionee S10 Specs

Specs have never really been the highlight of Gionee’s top-end smartphones. The company tends to go with mid-range processors with generous RAM and storage. The same strategy has been applied here, as the Gionee S10 comes with a 2.5GHz Helio P25 octa-core chipset inside with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Now, note that the P25 isn’t really a flagship chip and we have seen many mid-rangers from local Chinese companies like Elephone (Elephone P28) and Doogee (Doogee Mix) feature this chipset. It’s pretty good for a mid-ranger but how good will it be handling the requirements of a flagship phone like S10 is something we’ll have to wait and see.

The Gionee S10 comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS LCD display. Also, there’s a pretty decent 3450mAh capacity battery inside, which should be good enough for a day with P25 powering the phone.

As for the software, the phone comes with AMIGO 4.0 with Android 7. AI is integrated into the software, but we aren’t sure how exactly it would help users in day to day life.

Gionee S10 Cameras

The camera is definitely the highlight of the Gionee S10. The company has included four cameras in total, two at the back and two up front. The rear setup consists of a 16MP primary sensor + an 8MP secondary sensor. Other features include 6P lens and f/1.8 aperture. The company notes that it has worked on the sensor to improve low-light photography significantly. So, you can expect less noise in the night time pictures.

Up front, the phone comes with a 20MP + 8MP setup. There’s a selfie flash beside the front camera setup as well.

Now, expect to capture some great bokeh images with the cameras on the Gionee S10. The company wants you to take SLR level depth of field pictures with its camera, but we’ll have to play with it first to see how good the cameras are.

Gionee S10 Price & Availability

The Gionee S10 is not a cheap flagship, as you will have to shell out as much as 2599 Yuan for the 6GB +64GB model. That comes to nearly $380. That’s the territory of a number of super flagships including the Xiaomi Mi 6.

Note that there are two more variants of the device announced, the Gionee S10B and the Gionee S10C. To be honest, they are not the best names for variants of a flagship model, but they are supposed to provide additional options to customers at different price points. The Gionee S10 is a set to make a statement with its quad cameras when it launches a few days from now. Not the first smartphone to have dual cameras on both sides but it might be the one that ends up in your pocket judging from these camera samples we got our hands on.

The Gionee S10 will feature a 5.5-inch FHD screen, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Its rear cameras include a 16MP sensor and an 8MP sensor. Gionee says both the front and rear dual cameras will be able to take professional level portrait mode images with real time depth of field thanks to the ISP present in the phone.

The front facing cameras is a combination of a 20MP sensor and an 8MP sensor. We presume the 8MP sensor is a wide-angle lens. The rest of the specs includes a 3450mAh battery and a 2.5GHz octa-core Mediatek processor.

We have also gotten official images of the Gionee S10 in the five colors it will launch in. Buyers will be able to choose from silver, green, red, blue, and black.

Smartphone makers are adopting trendy new color variants for their high-end devices which usually come with a metal body. Gionee isn’t likely going to be left out of this trend as a set of images of the quad-camera packing Gionee S10 having a green paint job has appeared online.

The Green coloured Gionee S10 appears alongside the Gold variant in the images and is quite attractive. Even the antenna band seems to be coated in green also. Gren is one gentle colour and it plays out on the overall looks of the leaked green S10. The device looks super cool in this new paint job, and would be a hot selling one if actually, Gionee releases this.

Gionee has released a poster that teases the launch of its next smartphone which is identified as Gionee S10 billed to take place on May 26 in China. The Gionee S10 alongside its counterpart, the S10 Plus have been the subject of several leaked appearances both on benchmark websites and on TENAA. We have even had leaked images of the device before now.

One stand out feature on the leaks is the four cameras the S10 is shown to come with. The Gionee S10 has dual cameras at the front and at the rear, making it just about the second smartphone to feature such after the Alcatel Flash. The poster also teases the quad camera setup the S10 will launch with.

Fron the leaked images of the S10 and S10 Plus, both smartphones may likely feature the same design but will have different screen sizes. The device also comes with an all metal body and a U-shaped antenna design. there is also the likelihood of the device featuring a rear fingerprint sensor even though the likely location of the sensor looks like it’s just having a logo.

On the specs angle, the Gionee S10 is touted to be powered by a 2.5GHz octa-core processor backed by 6GB of RAM while there is a 64GB storage onboard. Gionee has released a teaser image confirming that the Gionee S10 will indeed feature dual front and rear cameras. The teaser image shows Chinese singer, Xue Qian holding a dual camera phone.

The image was posted by Gionee’s VP, Yu Lei on Weibo and was accompanied by a text mentioning the phone’s four cameras. It has also been stated the singer will serve as brand ambassador for the Gionee S10 phones.

We have seen three variants of the Gionee S10 surface on TENAA. One has just a single camera on the back and front, another has dual cameras on the rear and a single camera in front, and the most recent one confirmed to be called the S10 and not S10 Plus (the other two will have suffixes attached to their names) has four cameras.

Gionee is preparing to launch successors to last year’s Gionee S9. The S9 is just six months old and will be getting not one but three successors. Two were seen on TENAA last week. One has model number S10C with a single rear camera and a 5.2-inch screen and the other has model number S10B with dual rear cameras and a 5.5-inch screen. Another one which is expected to be released as the Gionee S10 Plus with dual front and rear cameras has showed up on TENAA.

The Gionee S10 Plus has a 5.5-inch full HD display, 4GB of RAM on board and 64GB of built-in memory. An octa-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz powers the phone and it draws energy from a 3450mAh battery. Gionee has put a 16MP + 8MP dual camera setup on the back with a slight hump, and a 20MP + 8MP shooter in front. That’s four cameras in total in this phone.

The Gionee S10 Plus runs Android 7.0 and has support for storage expansion (128GB max.). It also has a fingerprint scanner that doubles as a home button. The phone weighs 178g, measures 155 × 76.8 × 7.35(mm), and will be available in gold and black.

Gionee has not announced a launch date yet but we expect all three devices to launch soon as the Gionee S10 Mini, Gionee S10, and Gionee S10 Plus.

Gionee VP, Yu Lei has teased the company’s upcoming smartphone, the Gionee S10 via a post on Weibo. The teaser comes in an unusual way because he didn’t share a video of the device or a post about its specs. Rather, the VP shared a short Weibo post containing only the word “test”. What makes the post spectacular is that it could be noticed to have been sent from the Gionee S10.

The Gionee S10 has earlier made the rounds on TENAA where it received certification. According to the TENAA data, the S10 sports a similar 5.5-inch FHD display as the Gionee S9 released last year. The device is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core processor backed by 4GB while there is a 64GB storage onboard.

The Gionee S10 is rumoured to pack a dual camera setup both at the front and back but that is not certain. The TENAA document only listed a dual-lens camera at the rear which is a 13MP + 13MP setup. On the other hand, the front camera is a single 16MP sensor. The S10 also packs a 3700mAh battery and runs Android 7.0 Nougat from the go.

The product launch is probably not too far away considering the latest teaser which the VP later deleted from his Weibo account. Another feeler which could point at an imminent launch is the unveiling of a new brand ambassador by the company in China. There is, however, no specific date yet for the S10 launch.

In November 2016, Gionee had released the Gionee S9 phone with dual rear cameras. It seems that the Chinese firm is gearing up to launch its successor very soon as not one but two variants, one featuring single rear-facing camera and another with dual rear camera have appeared on TENAA, China’s regulatory body.

The TENAA listing that appeared in the previous week that carry images of Gionee S10 (model number S10B) show presence of twin rear cameras. However, the TENAA listing for Gionee S10 (model number S10C) that has appeared this week shows that it features a single camera. Both phones will be arriving with different specs.  It is likely that these phones may launch as Gionee S10 and Gionee S10 Plus.

Gionee S10C

The TENAA listing for S10C shows that it will be coming with a 5.2-inch full HD screen that offers a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It will be driven by a quad-core processor working at 1.4 GHz and 4 GB of RAM. Its native storage is 32 GB and it runs on Android 7.1 Nougat OS.

Its rear camera will be of 13-megapxiel and the front will grace a 16-megapixel snapper. It measures 148.7 x 73.7 x 7.9 mm and its weight is 151 grams. It is equipped with a 3,100 mAh battery. Here are the images of Gionee S10C from TENAA listing:

Gionee S10B

The S10B found on TENAA seems to be a higher version of S10C and may launch as Gionee S10 Plus. It is packed with a 5.5-inch full HD display. It is driven by a hexa-core processor that delivers a processing speed of 2 GHz. The GFXBench listing suggests that it could be powered by MediaTek MT6755 (Helio P10) chipset. The TENAA listing states that the SoC is accompanied by 4 GB of RAM.

The native storage of Gionee S10B is 64 GB and it is also preloaded with Android 7.1 Nougat OS. It features a pair of 13-megapixel rear camera sensors. On the front, it sports a 16-megapxiel selfie camera. Its dimensions are 154.5 x 76 x 7.6mm and its weight is 176.6 grams. It Is packed with a larger battery of 3,700 mAh capacity.

The Gionee S10B has also appeared on GFXBench. However, there seems to be some error with the listing as this variant is shown with a single camera of 12-megapixel. However, as mentioned above, TENAA listing has shown that the S10B would be coming with dual rear cameras.

Less than six months ago, the dual camera Gionee S9 hit the market. Those who picked it up might be sad to learn that a successor is already on the way. The Gionee S10 was seen getting certified on TENAA. While the upgrades are not a lot, it still hurts to see a phone get refreshed less than a year after launch.

The Gionee S10 has the same 5.5-inch FHD display as the S9. The RAM and storage have also been kept at 4GB and 64GB respectively. Where the Gionee S10  begins to differ are in the cameras, battery and software.

The dual rear cameras are now both 13MP sensors while the front-facing camera is a 16MP shooter. The rear cameras have been redesigned as they now sit at the left corner and are raised. The battery capacity has also been increased to 3700mAh. The TENAA listing shows that the Gionee S10 runs Android 7.0 Nougat but there is no information if it will be Amigo OS 4.0. The processor wasn’t specified but it is still a 2.0GHz octa-core SoC.

The Gionee S10 has a metal back plate and a glass front. The front camera has its own LED flash and the home button doubles as a fingerprint scanner. Dimensions for the S10 says it measures 154.5 × 76 × 7.6 mm and weighs 176.6g. Since it has gotten its TENAA certification, the launch should be around the corner.
