Back in March, HTC revealed the Android update status for a number of its devices. The Taiwanese company said the update will begin in the second quarter of 2019 but wasn’t specific about the date. On Friday, May 10, the manufacturer shared on Twitter specific timeframes for the update.

The HTC U11 will be the first of its flagships to get the Android Pie update. The 2017 flagship will begin receiving the update in late May. The U12+ will follow in mid-June and the rollout will begin arriving on the HTC U11+ in late June.

HTC adds that regions and carriers may affect the dates these devices will receive the updates. There is no mention of the HTC Exodus 1 which launched last year with Android Oreo. But since it has the same internals and even design as the HTC U12+, we expect it to receive the update to Android Pie shortly after the U12+. You might want to add a few weeks because the Exodus 1 has some custom security features.

The last time we heard from HTC about an Android Pie update was back in November when it released the update for the U11 Life. Before then, the Taiwanese company had released a list of devices that will get the update but didn’t reveal when it will hit these devices. Months later, it has finally disclosed when it will roll it out to the other devices.

HTC took to Twitter a few hours ago to update its users about the status of the Android Pie update. In the tweet, HTC said it is currently working on ensuring the update is compatible with its phones.

We wanted to share the status on the Android 9 update. HTC is currently working on ensuring the update is compatible with our phones & we anticipate a release for U11, U11+ & U12+ customers starting Q2’19. Exact timing defers to operators’ availabilities in different countries.

The tweet confirmed the update will come to the HTC U11, the U11+ and the U12+ beginning in the second quarter. There is no exact timing as that will be determined by operators and will vary from country to country.

The second quarter begins next month, so hopefully, more details should surface then.

By the way, the tweet doesn’t mention the U12 Life which is also an Android One phone like the U11 Life. It also wasn’t among the original list of devices that would get the Pie update which HTC released last year because it hadn’t been launched yet.

HTC is already struggling to find someplace in today’s market, even it is reeling under bad financial conditions. The Taiwanese giant seems to have pulled down its latest flagship HTC U12+ from the Chinese store. Not only on the official self-operated online store, even from the Tmall it has been taken down. HTC’s official Chinese website is showing HTC U 11 and U11+ as in stock while its successor has been labelled as “out of stock”. Currently, the reason is unknown and we are expecting an official response from the HTC side on the whole scenario.

Well, it can be some technical glitch or some other problem due to which HTC might be unable to cater HTC U12+ to buyers. Although we can only speculate right now, we have to wait for the official response from the HTC side.

Additionally, HTC U12+ carries  Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 on board with 6GB LPDDR4X RAM coupled with 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. It is IP68 waterproof and dustproof with built-in 3500 mAh battery. In order to charge this huge battery module, HTC has added a fast charging QC 3.0 with the rear fingerprint sensor. It even supports facial recognition and other authentication methods.

In the camera section, HTC U12+ hosts a 12 megapixel + 16-megapixel dual rear camera. Out of these dual shooters, there’s a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera along with the 16-megapixel telephoto lens.

HTC U12+ is also known for its intuitive UI which is based on Edge Sense 2.0. It carries a variety of gestures and other useful features which makes it different from other UIs. Even though its Edge launcher offers a lot of impressive features. It carries smart sleep, smart steering and other grip gestures.

Although, despite these powerful features, it’s unknown why the Taiwanese giant has pulled down the HTC U12 from their official online stores in China.

HTC Taiwan has announced a limited time program that will let new buyers of the HTC U12+ customize their phones. There is a dedicated page where you can create custom templates or use pre-designed ones by HTC.

The HTC U12+ comes in Translucent Blue, Ceramic Black, and Flame Red but the customizable version is Translucent Black. So not only do you get to customize the phone but the color of the phone itself is different from the other variants.

Customizing your phone is easy. Just click on the version you want to buy (64GB or 128GB) and you get taken to the customization page. There are lots of stickers, shapes, and templates to choose from. You can also add custom texts if that’s what you prefer. Once you are done, make payment and your phone will be shipped to you in two weeks.

The customized HTC U12+ sells for a tiny bit more than the regular variants. The 64GB version is priced at NT$24,200 (~$790) as against the NT$23,900 (~$780) price of the non-customized version while the 128GB version is NT$25,200 (~$823), NT$300 (~$10) more than the regular version. So you are literally paying $10 more for a new color variant custom-made for you or a loved one. Do note that the program runs until December 31, 2018.

The HTC U12+ has a 6.0” 1440 x 2880 display with Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a Snapdragon 845 paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of storage. The first half the year is done and dusted and it has been a very interesting one in the smartphone industry. The industry has witnessed a high outpour of flagship models most of which are from Chinese Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). Apart from their premium builds and powerful specs lineup, one feature that doesn’t usually get overlooked is battery capacity. A technological lab known as Whylab owned by Zealer has conducted a test among the known twelve flagship models to determine their battery durability.

In a terrain dominated by Snapdragon 845-powered flagship model, Huawei’s P20 Pro flagship once again proves itself to be the best flagship model around. Recall that DXOMark’s reviews still rank the P20 Pro as having the best camera among its peers. The P20 Pro is powered by an Hisilicon Kirin 970 AI chipset. Other phones tested include the Huawei P20 which ranks second, Vivo Nex, Smartisan R1, Black Shark Gaming phone, OPPO Find X, OnePlus 6, Xiaomi Mi 8, Samsung Galaxy S9+, Galaxy S9, Mi Mix 2s and HTC U12+, in the order below.

The tests were carried out in three different aspects. The first one is a test of the time each model takes to charge from 0% to 100%. The P20 Pro emerges as the fastest followed as listed below. The device was charged to the brim in just 75 minutes. Another test conducted include subjecting the phone to 5 hours of persistent use in a way that simulates daily use such as, running Weibo, WeChat, streaming online video, local video, reading e-book, playing games, shooting photos, web browsing, making calls, and playing music. In the end, the P20 Pro still had the highest battery percentage (57%) left. The others are just a hair’s breadth behind the Huawei flagship.

Finally, all the models were left on standby mode for 8 hours. At the end of the period, only the P20 Pro and P20 still had 100% of battery power left in their arsenal. Other phones have had their battery percentages reduced slightly (find the list below). Interestingly, the Mi Mix 2s was the most hit, with the lowest percentage (88%) after the 8 hours.

In all, the battery capabilities of all twelve flagship models are anything but disappointing. They truly deserve to be called flagship models as they deliver not only in design but also in their configuration, including battery power.

Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC has officially launched a new Limited edition version of the latest HTC U12+ flagship in Taiwan. The version is called HTC U12+ Mayday limited edition and is different from the regular U12+ in a few ways.

For the avoidance of doubt, Mayday here doesn’t refer to workers’ day but to the popular five-member Taiwanese band. The HTC U12+ Mayday limited edition comes in Black colour only with an exclusive Mayday logo on the back. The device is also bundled with a Mayday theme and exclusive Mayday MP3 ringtone.  In addition, HTC also throws in a Mayday lightweight cross-body bag and an unlimited party towel inside the gift box.

As far as the specs go, the Mayday Limited edition of the U12+ packs a similar 6-inch Super LCD notch-less screen with a Quad HD+ resolution of 2,880 x 1,440 pixels. The device also comes with an 18:9 aspect ratio and HDR 10 support. The device packs a dual camera setup on top of the rear glass panel.  The two cameras are arranged horizontally at the middle surrounded by a pill-shaped enclosure. HTC has finally taken the wraps off the U12+ smartphone and indeed it is the ultimate flagship phone! The HTC U12+ presents with a spectacular glass design which is even transparent glass on one of the color variant. As interesting as that may sound, the U12+ will sadly not turn out as popular as other high-end flagships like the Galaxy S9, OnePlus 6, Mi Mix 2s. But this is a raw beauty before our very eyes with the best of specs you’ll find on high-end flagship models.

The HTC U12+ isn’t very much different from the U11+ which was launched last year. The device comes with the same 3D liquid glass design granting the phone a sleek and unique premium look. The HTC U12+ comes with the second-generation Edge Sense 2 technology which lets you squeeze the phone to access apps and shortcuts. The technology again offers pressure-sensitive sides but this time around you just don’t squeeze the handset to control but HTC now adds double-tapping, as well as simply holding. Edge Sense 2 can tell which hand you are grabbing the phone with and adjusts accordingly. You can double-tap instead of stretching to use the virtual back key, for instance, so you don’t stretch your thumbs too much. The features are also designed to work with most apps in the Google Play store and not only in the stock applications.

As would be expected, the U12+ features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset paired with 6GB of RAM. The device comes with a 64GB and 128GB storage options with microSD slot for expanding the storage up to 2TB. Providing the interface is Android Oreo OS but HTC assures us it’ll be upgradeable to Android P when that’s officially released. Keeping the lights on is a 3500mAh battery.

As for the pricing and availability, the HTC U12+ comes with a price tag of $799 for the 64GB variant while the 128GB version comes in at $849. HTC will be launching the HTC U12+ flagship phone on Wednesday. However, the smartphone has inadvertently appeared on a testing subdomain on HTC’s official site. The listing that has been taken down was first spotted by popular tipster Roland Quandt and The Verge managed to get all details like images and specs of the HTC U12+.

The official listing has revealed that the U12+ exists in three colors such as Ceramic Black, Flame Red and Perspective Blue. The backside of the phone has a horizontal dual camera setup and a fingerprint scanner. The side view of the phone suggests that it could be sporting a thicker profile.

Most of the smartphone OEMs have switched to OLED panels for their new phones. However, the upcoming HTC flagship will continue to future LCD panels like the predecessor models. The testing website has revealed that HTC U12+ will be arriving with a Super LCD6 display that will support WQHD+ resolution of 2280 x 1440 pixels.

It will be fueled by Snapdragon 845 chipset and 6 GB of RAM. It features an internal storage of 128 GB. It receives power from 3,500mAh battery. The handset is equipped with BoomSound speakers and a memory card slot that will be support up to 2 TB of microSD card.

Previous leaks have revealed that that there will be a 64 GB storage edition of the phone which will also feature 6 GB of RAM. The official listing had revealed that the 128 GB storage + 6 GB RAM variant of the U12+ will be costing 5,888 Yuan (~$925).

Update: Quandt’s latest tweet reveals that the 64 GB HTC U12+ will be heading to Europe with a price tag of 699£ (~$941).

In the previous week, the reliable tipster Evan Blass had released the official renders of the U12+. He had also revealed that the handset would be equipped with Edge Sense 2.0. For photography, the frontside of the U12+ will be featuring 8-megapixel dual selfie snapper and the dual camera setup residing on its rear will be featuring a 12-megpaixel UltraPixel lens and a 16-megapixel telephoto lens. The dual rear cameras will be equipped with number features such as 2x optical zoom, OI, PDAF, laser autofocus and so on. HTC will take the wraps off its U12+ flagship on May 23. While the official teaser poster already shows us the internals of the device, a new leak has revealed what the phone looks like when assembled.

The new leak is a photo of the official renders of the HTC U12+ and was shared on Twitter by Evan Blass. It shows the HTC u12+ in three color variants including a translucent version.

The photo confirms the HTC U12+ has dual cameras on both sides. The ones in front are positioned on the left side of the top bezel while the rear cameras sit in the middle of the device. Below the rear sensors is a LED flash and fingerprint scanner.

The bezels are moderately-sized and the phone uses on-screen buttons. The date on the homescreen even confirms the May 23 launch date.

Alongside the photo of the phone, Evan Blass has also leaked the full specifications of the phone.

The HTC U12+ will continue with HTC’s Liquid Surface design. Just like the HTC U11+, it will also have pressure-sensitive buttons and a new haptic feedback experience. There are a number of new features the pressure sensitive buttons have. HCT has tagged it Edge Sense 2.0 and below are a few of them:

1. Holding down the buttons enables smart rotate and smart dim.
2. A double tap (double squeeze) will launch a mini-screen for one-handed use. You can also set it to act as a return key.

The U12+ will have a 6” QHD+ screen. It is Super LCD 6, has HDR10 support, and is covered with Gorilla Glass. It will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor paired with 6GB of RAM, and 64GB or 128GB of expandable storage.

The front cameras are dual 8MP f/2.0 1.12um sensors with an 84° wide-angle field of view. There is portrait mode, AR stickers, face unlock, live beauty mode, and a selfie panorama mode.

The rear cameras are a combination of a 12MP wide-angle sensor with HTC UltraPixel 4 (1.4um pixel size and a f/1.75 aperture) and a 16MP telephoto sensor with a 1.0um pixel size and f/2.6 aperture.

There is OIS, AR stickers, laser focus + PDAF, up to 2x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom, bokeh mode, 4K video at 60fps, slow motion at 240fps, and more.

The HTC U12+ will come with Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa depending on the region. It will support always-on voice commands, have NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, a USB-C port, and even support for DisplayPort over USB-C.

After months of leaks, the HTC U12+ finally has a launch date. The official HTC Twitter account has announced it has an event scheduled for May 23.

The tweet which was posted about an hour ago as at the time of writing also has the caption HTC “Coming Soon. A phone that is more than the sum of its specs.”

This is actually an interesting teaser poster. HTC has laid out all the components of the phone and in doing so has confirmed some of the specs.

There are four camera sensors in the image which is further proof that the HTC U12+ will have dual rear cameras and dual front-facing cameras. The SIM tray also confirms the phone has dual SIM support. This is a hybrid tray which means one SIM slot doubles as a MicroSD card slot for expandable storage.

There is a fairly large battery too. According to earlier leaks, the capacity is 3,420mAh but may actually be 3,500mAh when it launches.

The rest of the specs are a 6” QHD+ display, a Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB of RAM, IP68 certification, and squeezable frames.

The HTC U12+ is expected to launch in May but the Taiwanese manufacturer has not officially announced a launch date yet. If you are eager to know how HTC’s next flagship performs in the camera department, then you may want to have a look at these new photo samples.

The photos were shared on Google+ and it says the phone is an HTC 2Q55100. The image info for some of the pictures also reveals it has a 12MP f/2.6 sensor and a 12MP f/1.8 sensor. This is different from early leaks that said the phone has a 12MP + 16MP combo on the rear.

The pictures are not extraordinary but are well above average. Color reproduction looks good and the sensors perform well under artificial and natural light. Sadly, none of these photos are portrait images.

HTC has not released a flagship this year but one has been in the news for a couple of months now and that is the HTC U12+. There are rumors that the U12+ will be the only flagship phone this year and will not have a smaller or less powerful variant called the HTC U12. It appears that rumor may be false.

The specification sheet of the HTC U12 surfaced online today, on Verizon’s website according to the source. And from what we can see, it packs some interesting features.

The HTC U12 has a 6” WQHD LCD “frame-less” display with Gorilla Glass protection. It runs Android 8.0 with HTC Sense companion and has a 3,500mAh battery. It can also record in 4K.

The phone also has Bluetooth 5.0, Quick Charge 1.0 ( we want to believe this is a typo and should be 4.0), and an IP68 rating. There is also mention of HTC USonic.

The number of smartphones manufacturers embracing the notch for its flagships is growing every day. But it seems that HTC is not going to follow the trend launched by Apple with its iPhone X. According to new leaked renders, even though the Taiwanese company is suffering a financial decline, it will keep adopting an original design scheme for its upcoming flagship: HTC U12. Indeed, the renders show a device with a bezel-less display but without an iPhone X-like notch on the upper part, unlike the newly-announced Huawei P20 and P20 Pro.

Due to this decision, the screen-to-body ratio of HTC U12 will probably be lower than iPhone X. The back side will be made of glass and it will remind of the predecessor U11 Plus, but there will be several differences. Unlike the previous model, this new one will sport a dual camera setup placed at the center of the glass back in a horizontal configuration. At the left side of the dual camera setup, there will be a laser autofocus, while under the dual camera there will be a flash LED and a circular fingerprint reader.

So, the flagship will probably not have a fingerprint scanner embedded in the display (unlike some of the most recent high-end devices like Vivo X21 UD and Huawei Mate RS). A dual camera is present even on the front panel, so expect a great bokeh effect even in selfies. HTC U12 will probably come with a 5.5-inch display showing images at a Quad HD+ 1440p resolution. HTC is working on its flagship smartphone, which is said to have been named HTC U12 Plus. Now, a new report coming from Taiwan cites insider sources close to HTC to suggest that the smartphone could be launched next month.

According to the reports, HTC deliberately postponed the launch of its flagship smartphone in order to avoid head-to-head competition from Samsung’s Galaxy S9 series or Sony’s Xperia XZ2 lineup. Further, it is said that the company is also going to spend significantly to advertise the upcoming smartphone.

The HTC U12 Plus is expected to be the only premium smartphone from the company to launch this year. This could be the company’s strategy to prolong the sales cycle.

HTC, just like LG, has taken a different approach to device releases. This time last year, it already released its first flagship, the HTC U Ultra. However, for Q1 2018 it has only released three mid-range phones. Its flagship phone, the HTC U12+ is scheduled for a later release.

Fresh details have surfaced which reveal the HTC U12+ will be the only flagship from the Taiwanese company this year. According to an unnamed insider source, there will be no HTC U12 (a smaller version of the HTC U12+). But HTC will release a U12 Life which will be for the mid-range category with an affordable price tag.

The HTC U12 is expected to launch in May and will be competitively priced, said the source. It will have similar specs to  the Galaxy S9+ but a price tag similar to that of the Galaxy S9.

A full specifications leak of the U12+ was released a couple of weeks ago. The phone will have a 5.99” QHD+ display, a Snapdragon 845 processor, and up to 6GB of RAM. It will also come with up to 256GB of built-in storage.

HTC is currently gearing up to launch its upcoming smartphone — HTC U12+. Recently, we reported that the company could launch the HTC U12+ in early May instead of the HTC U12.

Now, based on the previous leaks surrounding the smartphone, 3D artist ConceptCreator has created the device’s renders, giving us a clear look at the phone’s design and what to expect from the phone.

The render shows that the smartphone will come with slim bezels and glass back panel. On the back, there’s a dual camera setup at the top-center position, followed by a dual-tone LED flash, fingerprint sensor, and HTC branding. On the front also, the phone will come with a dual camera setup.

The concept renders shows the HTC U12+ in three color options — Red, Black, and White.  Its noteworthy that these are not the official press renders of the phone but a strong representation of what the phone could look like based on the previous leaks.

The smartphone is expected to be a premium one with high-end specifications. Earlier leaks suggest that the HTC U12+ will come with a 6-inch WQHD+ LCD display and will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor, which powers almost all flagship smartphones launched this year.

HTC is expected to launch fewer phones in 2018 as it is speculated to focus more on advertising. The recent layoffs and selling off a portion of its smartphone making division to Google also hints that the company will not announce many phones this year. In the previous year, HTC had launched U11 in the first half of 2017. At the end of the year, it had announced the U11+ flagship. Fresh information revealed by popular tipster Evan Blass states that the upcoming HTC flagship that is codenamed as Imagine would arriving in the market as U12+. This suggests that the company may not launch the U12 phone this year.

Blass claims that the U12+ will be coming with a 6-inch LCD screen that will support WQHD+ resolution. The top bezel will be housing 8-megapixel dual front-facing cameras. The backside of the phone is also expected to a dual camera setup featuring a 16-megapixel sensor and a 12-megapixel sensor. Last year, HTC switched to a a new design called Liquid Surface which gives the phone a different color depending on the angle you are holding it.

A report from HTC Source says that the upcoming HTC U12 may sport a new design. It will still have glass on both sides like the HTC U11 and HTC U11+ but the glass on the rear will be white with a Matte finish.

It is quite difficult to achieve a matte finish with glass while keeping it durable. Ceramic is usually the material of choice if one is looking at durability and wants a matte finish ( e.g. Essential Phone Halo Gray) but mass production is difficult. However, we believe HTC already has a way to pull off the design while keeping it durable.

Specs of the HTC U12 leaked a few days ago and it mentions a 5.99 QHD+ display, a Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB RAM and up to 256GB of storage.

HTC is expected to soon launch the successor of its HTC U11, which is likely to be named HTC U12. The device was apparently shown off at a 5G industry event about a month ago.

Now, we have phone’s specifications, thanks to the leak by LlabTooFeR, a ROM developer who has a good track record for leaking HTC-related things. The specifications of the phone leaked are in line with the previous leak.

According to the leak, the phone will feature a 5.99-inch QHD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 to offer the trendy full-screen display. Under the hood, the device will be powered by Qualcomm‘s flagship chipset, Snapdragon 845, which will be powering most of the flagship phones this year.

The leak also suggests that the HTC U12 will pack 6GB RAM and a whopping 256GB of internal storage. Further, the phone is said to feature a dual camera setup on the back comprising one 12-megapixel sensor and one 16-megapixel Sony IMX3xx unit. There’ll be an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for taking selfies and video calling.

The phone will be running on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s custom interface HTC Sense 10 on top, along with Edge Sense 2.0 and HTC Face Unlock. HTC is one of the major manufacturers that didn’t announce a new phone at the recently concluded MWC 2018. That shouldn’t come as a surprise as its most recent flagship, the HTC U11+ is just a few months old. However, it has been revealed that its next flagship will be called the HTC U12, and its full specs and price have been leaked.

A Twitter user who goes by @Ikadmy is the source of the leak. According to his tweet, the HTC U12 will have a 6” 18:9 display with a 2K resolution.It will be powered by the Snapdragon 845 mobile platform with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage.

On the rear will be dual 12MP cameras arranged vertically, and up in front is an 8MP selfie camera. It will also have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The HTC U12 will come with Sense 10 based on Android Oreo. HTC will also ship it with Edge Sense 2.0 – an improved version of the squeeze feature of its recent phones. Like the HTC U11+, it will have a hybrid dual SIM slot (nano only).

With respect to design, the HTC U12 will have glass on both sides and will be IP68 certified. Under the glass back is a 3980mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.

Rumors have it that the successor of the HTC U11 will be launching as HTC U12. A recent report has claimed that the Taiwanese company has no plans to unveil the HTC U12 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 tech expo that will take place at the end of this month. During the recently held in the inaugural conference of the Taiwan 5G Industry Alliance, HTC had showed couple of unannounced HTC phones and VR devices. It is speculated that one of them could be the HTC U12 flagship smartphone.

According to well-known leakster Evan Blass, the mysterious flagship phone seen in the video below is none other than the upcoming HTC U12 flagship that is codenamed as HTC Imagine. Even the smartphone was kept on display for viewing, the company had covered its top and bottom portions. The side bezels of the smartphone appear non-existent.

Like the HTC U11+, the HTC U12 may feature a 6-inch display that supports 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone will be powered by Snapdragon 845 chipset that brings along X20 LTE modem that is capable of reaching download speeds of 1.2 Gbps. At the 5G event, the handset was spotted producing download speeds of 809.58.

We expected it, as the Taiwanese company usually doesn’t announce any flagship phones at the most important trade show of the year related to mobile devices in the past few years. The leaked render shows that just like the U11 and U11+, the HTC U12 will be also arriving with 18:9 aspect ratio display. The screen appears to be surrounded by super-slim bezels. There is a single selfie camera on the top bezel of the phone.

Since the HTC U12 is expected to sport a full screen design, its fingerprint scanner will be placed on the back panel. The volume buttons and the Power key are located on the right edge of the phone. Its bottom edge seems to feature a USB-C charging port. The overall design of the U12 may not be very different from its predecessor.

The rumor mill has recently revealed that the HTC U12 would be equipped with a 4K display. Like the predecessor phone, the upcoming HTC flagship is rumored to feature a metal and glass combination chassis.

The Snapdragon 845 chipset is rumored to power the HTC U12. Apart from the fingerprint scanner, the rear panel of the phone is also speculated to house dual rear cameras. Also, it is unlikely to house a 3.5mm audio jack. All the above rumored features seem to be spot on, but the arrival of 4K display on HTC U12 seems too good to be true.

The U11 is the latest flagship from Taiwanese manufacturer HTC. Report says the phone is selling faster than its predecessors, the HTC M9 and HTC 10, and AnTuTu named it the best performing device for May 2017. Although HTC hasn’t said anything about a successor, we have come across a HTC U12 concept design that looks quite interesting.

The HTC U12 concept doesn’t take design cues from the U11. It is a completely different device. From the display, to the cameras, and the overall design, it shares no resemblance to the U11.

The HTC U12 features an infinity-like 5.7-inch 4K display with curved corners and thin bezels at the top and bottom. The top bezel manages to squeeze in an earpiece and dual 16MP cameras on the left. The bottom bezel’s only function is as a banner for the HTC logo.

The rear of the HTC U12 is made of metal and not reflective glass like the U11 and U Ultra. There are two cameras positioned vertically in the middle of the phone with a dual led flash flanking them on the right.

There is no visible fingerprint scanner, so it is safe to assume that Qualcomm’s under-display scanner is in use here.

The specs for the HTC U12 are not far fetched. A Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. There are JBL speakers at the bottom but don’t expect an audio jack. Battery capacity isn’t stated and we are not bothered since this is just a concept.
