<p>Motorola launched the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-moto-x40/">Moto X40</a> in China in December. The device is one of the first to feature the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.</p>

<p>It is expected to release as Motorola Edge 40 Pro in global markets. Now, a certification <a href="https://www.mysmartprice.com/gear/motorola-edge-2023-bluetooth-sig-certification-rebranded-40-pro-moto-x40/">suggests</a> that the phone will be also sold under yet another name.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40.png?x10805" alt="Moto X40" class="wp-image-504452" width="986" height="716" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40.png 986w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-300x218.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-768x558.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-696x505.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-578x420.png 578w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-324x235.png 324w" sizes="(max-width: 986px) 100vw, 986px" /><figcaption>Motorola Moto X40</figcaption></figure>

<p>According to Bluetooth SIG, the Moto X40 will also go by Motorola Edge+ 2023. The handset will be likely sold under this name in the US as its predecessor Moto X30 is known as Motorola Edge+ in the region.</p>

<p>The listing also confirms that the phone will be called Motorola Edge 40 Pro, which we already know. In a nutshell, the Moto X40 will use Edge 40 Pro branding in the rest of the world and Edge Plus 2023 in the US.</p>

<p>Since the device is already official, we know everything about it. In fact, we even know how much it will cost in Europe.</p>

<p>The latest premium smartphone from <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/Lenovo/">Lenovo</a>-owned <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/Motorola/">Motorola</a> comes with a 6.7-inch 10-bit 165Hz OLED display,&nbsp; a 50MP (wide, OIS) + 50MP (ultrawide, AF) + 12MP (2x telephoto) triple camera system, a 60MP front-facing camera, dual stereo speakers, an in-screen fingerprint sensor, Android 13, a 4,600mAh battery, and 125W wired/15W wireless charging support.</p>

<p>Last but not least, it is tipped to cost €850 for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage in Europe.</p>

The new phone brings the latest Qualcomm chipset, blazing charging speeds, and even a good camera department at an affordable price in the Chinese market. A few days earlier, Xiaomi launched the new Xiaomi 13 series in the Chinese market, including the vanilla <a href="http://gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-13">Xiaomi 13</a> with compact dimensions but flagship-class hardware. We believe these two phones are perfect rivals of each other. That is the reason why we decided to publish a comparison between the specifications of the Motorola Moto X40 and the Xiaomi 13. Here you will learn which one is the best for your actual needs.</p>

<h3>Design</h3>
<p>The design of the Motorola Moto X40 looks very good. First of all, it is built with premium materials: glass for the back and aluminum for the frame. It is also waterproof and dustproof with the IP68 certification, and it has a curved screen with a very high screen to body ratio. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 13 has a very original design and premium materials as well, with a glass back and an aluminum frame. This phone is waterproof as well with the IP68 certification, and it has a flat display instead of a curved one. I personally prefer the Xiaomi 13 because it is more compact, but the curved display of the Motorola Moto X40 makes it more elegant.</p>
<h3></h3>
<h3>Display</h3>
<p>The most interesting display is definitely the one found on the Motorola Moto X40. First of all, it has a wider panel, with a diagonal of 6.7 inches. Further, it is an OLED display showing up to one billion colors with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, an awesome 165 Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ certification. An in-display fingerprint reader and stereo speakers are not missing. The Xiaomi 13 is equipped with an OLED display showing images with a 6.36-inch diagonal, a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, Dolby Vision support, HDR10+ certification, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and an in-display fingerprint reader. It has stereo speakers just like its rival and it adds an infrared sensor allowing you to use it as a remote control for your TV.</p>
<h3>Specs &amp; Software</h3>
<p>The Xiaomi 13 and the Motorola Moto X40 provide you with the same flagship-class hardware department. They are fueled by the octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor built with a 4 nm production process and sporting an octa-core architecture. The chipset is composed of a Cortex X3 performance core running at a max frequency of 3.2 GHz, two Cortex A715 cores running at 2.8 GHz, two Cortex A710 cores running at 2.8 GHz, three Cortex A510 cores running at 2 GHz, and an Adreno 740 GPU. Alongside the chipset, there are up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 4.0 native storage. The operating system installed on these devices is Android 13, with highly customized user interfaces on top.</p>
<h3>Camera</h3>
<p>If you are looking for the best cameras, then you should choose the Motorola Moto X40. Both come with a 50 MP main sensor with OIS, but the Motorola Moto X40 has a better 50 MP ultrawide camera and a better 60 MP selfie shooter. On the other hand, with the Xiaomi 13, you can get better zoom capabilities thanks to a telephoto lens with 3.2x optical zoom.</p>

</ul>
<h3>Battery</h3>
<p>Despite its bigger dimensions, the battery of the Motorola Moto X40 is not much bigger than the battery of the Xiaomi 13. It has a capacity of 4600 mAh and, given that the Xiaomi 13 sports a bigger display, it should not be superior in terms of battery life. But it charges quicker thanks to 125W fast charging, while the Xiaomi flagship has a faster wireless charging tech with a power of 50W instead of just 15W.</p>
<h3>Price</h3>
<p>Motorola Moto X40 starts from $483/€450, while the Xiaomi 13 begins at $590/€550. The prices are referred to the Chinese market as these phones are still not launched globally. Which one would you pick?</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-moto-x40/">Moto X40</a> is set to launch in China on December 15th. It will arrive as the successor to the X30 that debuted last year. So far, the smartphone is only confirmed to come with a 4,600mAh battery unit with support for 125W charging. Now ahead of the launch the device has been spotted on China’s 3C certification website revealing that it will come in two variants with different charging speeds. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="396" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-3C-1024x396.jpg?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-502005" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-3C-1024x396.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-3C-300x116.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-3C-768x297.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-3C-696x269.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-3C-1068x413.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-3C-1085x420.jpg 1085w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-3C.jpg 1098w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>As per 3C, the Moto X40 is listed with model number XT2301-5. It reveals a 68W charger having model number MC-668N and another 125W GaN charger with model number MC-1258. The latest development is in line with the TENAA listing that revealed the Moto X40 in two variants with different battery capacities and charging speeds. The X40 model supporting 68W speed will be backed by a 5,000mAh battery cell.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Moto X40 is confirmed to come with IP68 certification against dust and water resistance. It will feature a centre-aligned punch-hole display with a curved screen. The device will have a horizontal lock camera feature that is said to be some action camera mode.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Apart from this, the rest of the specs of the Moto X40 remain a mystery. It is expected to come with a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. Apparently, the company is claiming that the smartphone is a powerful yet versatile model that will be the perfect match for those with active lifestyles out of the box.</p>

<p>While we had reported on battery specs of this flagship phone, the company has confirmed that the device will be powered by a large 4,600mAh battery pack. This battery will also support up to 125W fast charging support. Apart from the battery teaser, the company also revealed an interesting camera feature for the X40. <p>This is further backed by the teaser image, which shows the X40 being used to capture a person skiing in the snowy mountains. In other words, the camera mode will take mode photos in portrait mode. While the brand has yet to officially reveal the rear camera setup for the Moto X40, it is expected to feature a triple camera setup, with a 50 megapixel primary sensor that will be paired with a 50 megapixel ultra wide angle lens and a 12 megapixel telephoto shooter that offers 2x optical zoom as well.</p>

The device is also expected to soon launch in the global market with Moto Edge 40 Pro moniker. Ahead of the launch, almost all of the key specifications, along with some renders, have been leaked.</p>

<p>Now, tipster <a href="https://twitter.com/Sudhanshu1414/status/1602271952483147776" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sudhanshu Ambhore</a> has spotted the smartphone on the HDR+ database, confirming that the display panel of the smartphone will be quite capable. For those unaware, HDR10+ is quite akin to HDR10, as it is capable of producing around 1 billion different colors. The main difference between the two is that HDR10+ panels use dynamic metadata to accurately depict bright and dark parts during a scene. This makes HDR video content more immersive than when viewing it on standard HDR panels.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image is-style-default"><figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" width="723" height="614" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/moto-x40-Pro-render-leak.jpg?x10805" alt="Motorola" class="wp-image-501694" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/moto-x40-Pro-render-leak.jpg 723w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/moto-x40-Pro-render-leak-300x255.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/moto-x40-Pro-render-leak-696x591.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/moto-x40-Pro-render-leak-495x420.jpg 495w" sizes="(max-width: 723px) 100vw, 723px" /></figure></div>

<p>Other than that, the previous leaks mention that this OLED display will measure 6.67 inches and will offer FHD+ resolution with either 144Hz or even 165Hz refresh rate. The device as a whole will measure 161.3 x 73.9 x 8.5 mm and weigh around 196 grams.</p>

<p>Under the hood, we will find a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The gadget will be powered by the MyUI 5.0 custom skin on Android 13 OS. Other features include NFC, dual-band 5G, Bluetooth 5.3, USB Type C, dual speakers, Bluetooth 5.3, and IP68 water and dust resistance rating. The device was previously spotted on 3C and TENAA certification sites with 4,600mAh and a 5,000mAh battery pack. These options support 125W and 68W fast charging, respectively.</p>

<p>For optics, the smartphone is said to feature a 50-megapixel primary sensor, paired with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/motorola/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Motorola </a>is gearing up to launch the new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-moto-x40/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Moto X40</a> in the Chinese market soon. The device is the company&#8217;s next generation of flagship smartphone. There have already been a number of leaks and reports regarding this handset ahead of its December 15 launch, so here&#8217;s a roundup of all specs, features, and design of the X40.</p>

<h4>Design &amp; Display</h4>

<p>The Moto X40&#8217;s design had recently been revealed via leaked renders. On the front, the device has a curved display with a punch hole camera on the top center. Meanwhile, the rear features a triple camera module on the top left corner. As per the leak, the device is said to measure 161.3 x 73.9 x 8.5 and weighs around 196 grams. The premium grade handset also features a metallic frame. This device is expected to sport a 10 bit 6.67 inch curved OLED display that has a Full HD+ resolution and supports 144Hz or even 165Hz refresh rate as well.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/moto-x40-Pro-render-leak.jpg?x10805" alt="Motorola" class="wp-image-501694" width="619" height="526" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/moto-x40-Pro-render-leak.jpg 723w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/moto-x40-Pro-render-leak-300x255.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/moto-x40-Pro-render-leak-696x591.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/moto-x40-Pro-render-leak-495x420.jpg 495w" sizes="(max-width: 619px) 100vw, 619px" /></figure></div>

<h4>Specifications</h4>

<p>Under the hood, the Motorola X40 is expected to be equipped with Qualcomm&#8217;s latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. This high end processor will likely be paired with 8GB, 12GB, or possibly even 18GB of LPDDR5X RAM. For storage, we can expect the base model to start from 128GB and go up to either 256GB or even 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The device will run on Android 13 OS based MyUI 5.0 custom skin. Other features include, USB Type C, stereo speakers, Bluetooth 5.3, dual band 5G, NFC, and even IP68 water and dust resistance rating.</p>

<p>Interestingly, the Moto X40 was spotted on 3C and TENAA with a 4,600mAh and a 5,000mAh battery pack. However, the former has an impressive 125W fast charging while the latter supports a slower 68W fast charging rate. This means that there is a possibility that the Moto X40 Pro might also be announced during the launch event, or could even be released sometime after the X40. It is also possible that one variant could just be a special edition or the global version for the X40 that might be dubbed as the Moto Edge 40 Pro.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/moto-x40-Pro-render-leak-1-1.jpg?x10805" alt="Motorola" class="wp-image-501697" width="612" height="504" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/moto-x40-Pro-render-leak-1-1.jpg 732w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/moto-x40-Pro-render-leak-1-1-300x247.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/moto-x40-Pro-render-leak-1-1-696x573.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/moto-x40-Pro-render-leak-1-1-510x420.jpg 510w" sizes="(max-width: 612px) 100vw, 612px" /></figure></div>

<h4>Camera</h4>

<p>Lastly, the Motorola X40 is set to launch with a triple camera setup on the rear. It features a 50 megapixel primary sensor that will be paired with a 50 megapixel ultra wide angle lens and a 12 megapixel telephoto shooter that offers 2x optical zoom as well. </p>

<p>On December 15, 2022, <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tags/motorola">Motorola</a> will officially launch the Motorola Moto X40 smartphone in China, according to a statement from the company. The smartphone is now available for pre-order in China ahead of its official debut. Users that are interested can now reserve their units by going to the JD.com website. According to Chen Jin&#8217;s reports, the Moto X40 has apparently achieved &#8220;super power saving&#8221; as a performance flagship using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU. In terms of running points, the Moto X40&#8217;s AnTuTu running score hit 1312901 points.</p>

<p>The Motorola phone&#8217;s model number, XT2301-5, has previously been listed in the Geekbench 5 database. According to the listing, the device has an octa-core processor with a 3.19GHz prime core, four 2.80GHz secondary cores, and three 2.02GHz third cores. This is the recently released Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, as we well know.</p>

<p>The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (CMIIT) now lists Motorola&#8217;s new 5G model XT2301-5, which is anticipated to be the Moto X40. The device has a 6.67-inch 1080*2400 OLED screen, a body size of 161.3*73.9*8.5mm, weighs 196 grammes, and enables under-screen fingerprint recognition. It also supports 10-bit colour depth. The Moto X40 is equipped with a built-in 4950mAh, a 50MP+50MP+12MP triple camera setup on the back, and 4x optical zoom.</p>

<p>According to earlier information, Motorola modified the MAXE system engine for the new MyUI 5.0 to deliver a scheduling strategy that perfectly balances performance and power efficiency with more intelligent scene detection. The Motorola Moto X40 will additionally offer IP68 water and dust resistance. Let&#8217;s wait till the official launch to know more about the device.</p>

<p>The Oppo’s conference is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/12/08/oppo-find-n2-flip-december-15-launch-china/">scheduled</a> to begin at 4 PM GMT+8. Whereas, the Lenovo-owned Motorola <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/12/08/moto-x40-launch-date-revealed-find-out-whats-known-so-far/">hasn’t disclosed</a> the time yet.</p>

<p>Both these events will be live-streamed on Weibo and popular Chinese video streaming platforms. With that out of the way, let’s take a look at these handsets.</p>

<h2><strong>Upcoming Smartphones Next Week</strong></h2>

<div style="height:25px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3><strong>Motorola Moto X40</strong></h3>

<p>The <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/Moto-X40/">Moto X40</a> will go official as the successor of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-edge-x30/">Moto X30</a>, which goes by Motorola Edge 30 Pro outside mainland China. The upcoming X40 is anticipated to release as Motorola Edge 40 Pro internationally.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-A-1024x576.jpg?x10805" alt="Motorola Moto X40" class="wp-image-499177" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-A-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-A-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-A-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-A-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-A-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-A-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-A.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Thanks to leaks and teasers, we know most of its specs. For starters, it will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset paired with LPDDR5x RAM.</p>

<p>Interestingly, the device will be IP68-rated for dust and water resistance. It is said to come with a 10-bit curved display sporting FHD+ resolution and up to a 165Hz refresh rate.</p>

<p>Other expected features of the phone include a 60MP selfie camera, 50MP (wide) + 50MP (ultra-wide) + 12MP (2x telephoto) triple camera system, a 5,000mAh battery, and 68W charging.</p>

<div style="height:25px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3><strong>Oppo Find N2 Series</strong></h3>

<p>As the name suggests, the Oppo Find N2 series will be the successor of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-find-n-5g/">Oppo Find N</a> from late last year. For the unaware, Find N is Oppo’s lineup of foldable smartphones.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="683" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Oppo-Find-N2-Series-Teaser-1024x683.jpg?x10805" alt="Oppo Find N2 Series Teaser" class="wp-image-501187" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Oppo-Find-N2-Series-Teaser-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Oppo-Find-N2-Series-Teaser-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Oppo-Find-N2-Series-Teaser-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Oppo-Find-N2-Series-Teaser-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Oppo-Find-N2-Series-Teaser-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Oppo-Find-N2-Series-Teaser-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Oppo-Find-N2-Series-Teaser.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Unlike the first-gen, which only had a single model, the second-gen will consist of two handsets. They are officially called <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Oppo-Find-N2/">Oppo Find N2</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Oppo-Find-N2-Flip/">Oppo Find N2 Flip</a>.</p>

<p>The regular Find N2 will be the follow-up to the original Find N. It will be a horizontal folding foldable smartphone that turns into a tablet when unfolded. Unfortunately, it may remain exclusive to China.</p>

<p>On the other hand, the Find N2 Flip will be a vertical folding foldable smartphone. In other words, it will be a clamshell foldable. Oppo is said to release it in international markets. This device will compete against other globally available similar-type foldables, like Galaxy Z Flip 4, Motorola Razr 2022, and Huawei P50 Pocket.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/motorola/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Motorola</a> is gearing up to launch the Moto X40 in the Chinese market on December 15. The majority of the specs, including the design of the device, have already leaked online. And now, it has appeared on Geekbench, revealing its performance along with some confirmed specs. So, let’s check out the listing.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image is-style-default"><figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-A-1024x576.jpg?x10805" alt="Motorola Moto X40" class="wp-image-499177" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-A-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-A-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-A-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-A-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-A-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-A-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-A.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Moto X40 design render</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The Motorola handset has appeared on Geekbench 5 database (spotted by <a href="https://www.mysmartprice.com/gear/moto-edge-40-pro-xt2301-5-geekbench-listing/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">MySmartPrice</a>) with the model number&nbsp;XT2301-5. It is possible that this could be the Moto Edge 40 Pro, which will be the global variant of the Moto X40. The listing shows that the device is running an octa-core processor with the prime core clocked at 3.19GHz, four cores clocked at 2.80GHz, and three cores running at 2.02GHz. As we already know, this is the newly launched <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/11/16/qualcomm-snapdragon-8-gen-2-launched/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Snapdragon 8 Gen 2</a> chipset. Looking at these clock speeds, it is clear that this is a stock version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, with no overclocking or underclocking applied.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image is-style-default"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="678" height="861" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/moto-X40-Pro-geekbench.webp?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-501050" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/moto-X40-Pro-geekbench.webp 678w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/moto-X40-Pro-geekbench-236x300.webp 236w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/moto-X40-Pro-geekbench-331x420.webp 331w" sizes="(max-width: 678px) 100vw, 678px" /></figure></div>

<p>The listing also mentions that the device is running Android 13 and has 12GB of RAM onboard. In the single-core round of the test, the smartphone got 1471 points. In the multi-core round, however, it managed to score 4683 points. Other than this, the Geekbench listing does not provide any further information. However, a recent <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/11/18/moto-edge-40-pro-spotted-on-fcc-with-125w-fast-charging-could-launch-soon/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">FCC listing</a> of the Moto XT2301-4 did reveal that it features 125W fast charging.</p>

<p>For the time being, rumors suggest that the device will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, LPDDR5X RAM, and a triple camera setup on the back, consisting of a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide unit, and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens. Finally, the device&#8217;s display is expected to have a refresh rate of up to 165Hz.</p>

<p>Oppo has confirmed that it will announce its next foldable phones, the Find N2 and the Find N2 Flip, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/12/08/oppo-find-n2-flip-december-15-launch-china/">on Dec. 15</a>. Oppo will not be the only company to release new devices on the specified date. Today, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/motorola">Motorola</a> released an official confirmation that the Moto X40 will break cover on Dec. 15.</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-moto-x40/">Moto X40</a> will arrive as the successor to the Moto Edge X30, which debuted in December 2021. Since Motorola is no longer using Edge branding for its devices in China, the Edge X30 will be called the Moto X40. There have been some rumors that claim that Motorola’s upcoming flagship will be called the Moto X40 Pro.  However, as of now, the company is yet to confirm the said moniker.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="768" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-launch-date-768x1024.jpg?x10805" alt="Moto X40 launch date" class="wp-image-500703" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-launch-date-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-launch-date-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-launch-date-696x928.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-launch-date-1068x1424.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-launch-date-315x420.jpg 315w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-launch-date.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /><figcaption>Moto X40 launch date</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Hence, the next Motorola flagship, arriving on Dec. 15, will be called the Moto X40. Rumors surrounding the device have claimed that the X40 will be rebranded as the Motorola Edge 40 Pro in the global market. The global launch of the device is expected to happen in Q1 2023.</p>

<p>A Motorola phone with the XT2301-5 moniker was approved by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/10/29/moto-x40-full-specifications-revealed-could-be-first-snapdragon-8-gen-2-phone-to-debut/">TENAA</a> and 3C authorities of China in October. This device is most likely to launch as the Moto X40 in China. Shown below is a recently leaked CAD render of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/12/01/moto-x40-renders-leak/">Moto X40</a>.</p>

<h3><strong>Moto X40 specifications (rumored)</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-render-1024x576.jpg?x10805" alt="Moto X40 render" class="wp-image-500702" width="1027" height="578" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-render-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-render-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-render-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-render-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-render-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-render-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Moto-X40-render.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1027px) 100vw, 1027px" /><figcaption>Moto X40 render by OnLeaks / MySmartPrice</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The Moto X40 will feature a 6.67-inch OLED display with curved edges. It will offer a Full HD+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform will be present under the hood of the Moto X40. It will arrive with up to 18 GB of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/10/28/moto-x40-officially-confirmed-to-feature-snapdragon-8-gen-2-lpddr5x-ram/">LPDDR5x</a> RAM and up to 512 GB of storage. The phone will run on My UI 5.0-based Android 13 OS.</p>

<p>The X40 will have a 60-megapixel camera for snapping selfies. The rear shell of the device will have a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera. It is likely to arrive in 4,500mAh and 5,000mAh battery variants. While it has been spotted with a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/10/14/alleged-moto-x40-series-edge-40-pro-flagship-3c-certified-likely-to-launch-this-year/">68W charger at 3C</a>, it may come equipped with up to 125W fast charging. The X40 is also said to be an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/11/28/moto-x40-launch-in-december-snapdragon-8-gen-2-soc-ip68-water-resistance/">IP68-rated device</a>.</p>

<p>Motorola <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/11/28/moto-x40-launch-in-december-snapdragon-8-gen-2-soc-ip68-water-resistance/">has confirmed</a> to launch the Moto X40 (Motorola Edge 40 Pro) in December in China. The company has been teasing the features of this smartphone for quite a while now. At the same time, the details about the device are also emerging from other sources.</p>

<p>For instance, the phone has now leaked in renders revealing its entire design. Let’s take a look at everything that’s known about it.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-A-1024x576.jpg?x10805" alt="Motorola Moto X40" class="wp-image-499177" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-A-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-A-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-A-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-A-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-A-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-A-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-A.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>We already know what the upcoming <a href="https://www.giztop.com/motorola-moto-x40.html">Moto X40</a> will look like. That’s because its design had been already leaked via a TENAA listing. The latest leak from @OnLeaks (via MySmartPrice) confirms the design again.</p>

<p>As per the renders, the handset will sport a curved display. It will house a rectangular camera island with sensor placements somewhat similar to that of iPhone Pro models.</p>

<p>The power and volume keys will reside on the right side, while the left will be empty. The top of the phone will house the secondary speaker grille and secondary microphone hole. Whereas, the bottom will include the primary speaker grille, primary microphone hole, and a USB Type-C port.</p>

<p>Finally, the rear panel of the device will not only feature the iconic <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Motorola/">Motorola</a> Batwing logo at the center but also a ‘motorola’ banding at the bottom.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-B-1024x576.jpg?x10805" alt="Motorola Moto X40" class="wp-image-499176" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-B-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-B-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-B-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-B-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-B-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-B-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Motorola-Moto-X40-Render-Leak-B.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Talking about specs, multiple leaks and official teasers have revealed that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-moto-x40/">Moto X40</a> (Motorola Edge 40 Pro) will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset paired with LPDDR5x RAM. It will flaunt a 6.67-inch 10-bit curved OLED display with an FHD+ resolution and up to a 165Hz refresh rate.</p>

<p>The IP68-rated smartphone is said to come with a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, a 12MP telephoto camera, a 60MP selfie camera, Android 13, a 5,000mAh battery, and 68W fast wired charging support.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/motorola">Motorola</a> is expected to soon announce the Moto X40 in China. It will be one of the first phones to come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform. The same device is expected to debut early next year with the Motorola Edge 40 Pro moniker in the global market. Chen Jin, Lenovo Group General Manager for Mobile Division, revealed the X40&#8217;s AnTuTu benchmark score before the launch.</p>

<p>The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip will be rivaled by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9200. A recent report revealed that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/10/26/mediatek-dimensity-9200-antutu-benchmark-shows-massive-improvements-in-gpu-performance/">D9200 scored 1,266,1012</a> on AnTuTu. Now, the screenshot that Chen Jin shared shows that the upcoming Moto X40, which has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, has gotten a higher score of 1,312,901. It appears that the SD8G2 may offer slightly better performance over the D9200 chip since there is no vast difference between the benchmark scores of both chips.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="534" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Moto-X40-AnTuTu-1024x534.jpg?x10805" alt="Moto X40 AnTuTu" class="wp-image-496844" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Moto-X40-AnTuTu-1024x534.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Moto-X40-AnTuTu-300x156.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Moto-X40-AnTuTu-768x400.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Moto-X40-AnTuTu-696x363.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Moto-X40-AnTuTu-1068x557.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Moto-X40-AnTuTu-806x420.jpg 806w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Moto-X40-AnTuTu.jpg 1076w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Moto X40 AnTuTu</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The Vivo X90 Pro+, the Xiaomi 13 series, the iQOO 11 lineup, and the OnePlus 11 are all expected to come out this year. They are all flagship phones with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chips. These devices are also expected to record a similar score on AnTuTu. The SD8G2 is a 4nm chip featuring a 3.2GHz Cortex-X3 prime core, 2.8GHz 2 x Kryo Cortex-A715 performance cores, 2.8GHz 2 x Kryo Cortex-A510 performance cores, and 2.0GHz Kryo efficiency cores.</p>

<p>Smartphone launches don’t seem to be stopping though we are nearing the end of the year. As of writing this article, two brands have confirmed to release new phones in November.</p>

<p>However, we believe there could be more announcements later this month. We have listed multiple products based on leaks and rumors.</p>

<p>Most of them mentioned in this post will likely go official in the next few weeks. Additionally, we may also witness the launch of handsets that are not listed here.</p>

<p>With that out of the way, let’s take a look at all the expected phone releases in the coming days.</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h2><strong>Upcoming Smartphones in November 2022</strong></h2>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3><strong>Huawei P50 Pocket S</strong></h3>

<p>The Huawei P50 Pocket S <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/10/31/huawei-p50-pocket-s-roundup-launch-date-specs-expected-price/">has been confirmed</a> to launch in China on November 2. It will be an affordable version of the Huawei P50 Pocket from last year.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Huawei-P50-Pocket-S-Teaser-1536x864.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei P50 Pocket S" width="950" height="534"/><figcaption>Huawei P50 Pocket S</figcaption></figure>

<p>The clamshell foldable smartphone is said to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778 4G chipset, a 120Hz display, and cameras powered by the company’s in-house XMAGE image processing.</p>

<p>It is expected to arrive in six vibrant colors (black, blue, pink, white, green, and yellow) and two memory variants (128GB and 256GB).</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3><strong>Realme 10 Series</strong></h3>

<p>The Realme 10 has been <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/10/31/realme-10-global-launch-date-confirmed-indonesia-listing-reveals-key-specs/">officially confirmed</a> to launch in multiple markets (mostly Southeast Asia) on November 10. There are also leaks regarding Realme 10 Pro Plus but it may not be announced at the event.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="856" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Realme-10.jpg?x10805" alt="Realme 10" class="wp-image-493126" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Realme-10.jpg 856w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Realme-10-300x210.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Realme-10-768x538.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Realme-10-696x488.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Realme-10-599x420.jpg 599w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Realme-10-100x70.jpg 100w" sizes="(max-width: 856px) 100vw, 856px" /><figcaption>Realme 10</figcaption></figure>

<p>As far as the Realme 10 is concerned, it will be a budget 4G handset. Teasers and leaks have revealed it to come with a MediaTek Helio G99 chip, a 6.4-inch FHD+ 90Hz display, a 50MP + 2MP dual camera setup, a 16MP selfie camera, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, Android 12, a 5,000mAh battery, and 33W fast charging support.</p>

<p>The device is expected to go on sale from November 11 in Southeast Asia via retailers like Shopee and Lazada.</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3><strong>Oppo A98</strong></h3>

<p>The Oppo A98 is said to be the most premium phone in the Oppo A series to date. Some of its features have been tipped but its launch date is a mystery. However, there’s a chance that it could go official in November.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="695" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/OPPO-A97-1024x695.png?x10805" alt="Oppo A97" class="wp-image-492937" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/OPPO-A97-1024x695.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/OPPO-A97-300x204.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/OPPO-A97-768x521.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/OPPO-A97-1536x1042.png 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/OPPO-A97-696x472.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/OPPO-A97-1068x724.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/OPPO-A97-619x420.png 619w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/OPPO-A97.png 1682w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Oppo A97</figcaption></figure>

<p>As <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/10/30/alleged-oppo-a98-tipped-to-offer-curved-edge-display-108mp-camera-67w-charging/">per leaks</a>, the device will flaunt a curved FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 2160Hz PWM dimming. The panel will have the highest screen-to-body ratio on a single punch hole curved screen with its 3.3xmm chin.</p>

<p>It will offer other features like a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC, a 108MP primary camera, a 5,000mAh battery, and 67W fast charging support.</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3><strong>Oppo A58 5G</strong></h3>

<p>Oppo may release yet another A series handset called Oppo A58 5G in November. Though the exact launch date is not known, its specs and design are out.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="683" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/OPPO-A58-5G-1024x683.png?x10805" alt="Oppo A58 5G" class="wp-image-493246" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/OPPO-A58-5G-1024x683.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/OPPO-A58-5G-300x200.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/OPPO-A58-5G-768x512.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/OPPO-A58-5G-696x464.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/OPPO-A58-5G-1068x712.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/OPPO-A58-5G-630x420.png 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/OPPO-A58-5G.png 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Oppo A58 5G</figcaption></figure>

<p>According to a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/11/01/oppo-a58-5g-specifications-renders-leaked-launch-seems-imminent/">massive leak</a>, the device will arrive with a 6.56-inch HD+ 90Hz display (LCD), MediaTek Dimensity 700 chip, LPDDR4x RAM, UFS 2,2 storage, 50MP + 2MP dual camera system, 8MP selfie camera, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, Android 12, 5,000mAh battery, and 33W fast charging support.</p>

<p>The product is tipped to come in three colors, such as Tranquil Sea Blue, Breeze Purple, and Starry Sky Black.</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3><strong>Oppo Reno 9 Series</strong></h3>

<p>The Oppo Reno 9 series is also rumored to launch in November. The lineup is said to include three models, namely Oppo Reno 9, Oppo Reno 9 Pro, and Oppo Reno 9 Pro Plus. However, only details about the vanilla variant have leaked so far.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="866" height="547" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/OPPO-Reno-9-leaked-image-featured.png?x10805" alt="Oppo Reno 9" class="wp-image-490146" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/OPPO-Reno-9-leaked-image-featured.png 866w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/OPPO-Reno-9-leaked-image-featured-300x189.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/OPPO-Reno-9-leaked-image-featured-768x485.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/OPPO-Reno-9-leaked-image-featured-696x440.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/OPPO-Reno-9-leaked-image-featured-665x420.png 665w" sizes="(max-width: 866px) 100vw, 866px" /><figcaption>Oppo Reno 9</figcaption></figure>

<p>The standard Oppo Reno 9 is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/10/13/oppo-reno-9-specifications-leaked-well-before-launch/">tipped</a> to feature a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz curved display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Plus chipset, a 64MP OmniVision OV64B primary camera, a 32MP Sony IMX709 selfie camera, and an in-screen fingerprint sensor.</p>

<p>Finally, it will boot Android 13 and will be backed by a 4,500mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging.</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3><strong>Redmi Note 11 Pro 2023</strong></h3>

<p>We expected the Redmi Note 11 Pro 2023 to go official in October but it didn’t happen. Now, we think it may release in November.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Redmi-Note-10-Pro-Max-All-Colors-Featured-01-1024x576.jpg?x10805" alt="Redmi Note 10 Pro Max" class="wp-image-374806" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Redmi-Note-10-Pro-Max-All-Colors-Featured-01-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Redmi-Note-10-Pro-Max-All-Colors-Featured-01-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Redmi-Note-10-Pro-Max-All-Colors-Featured-01-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Redmi-Note-10-Pro-Max-All-Colors-Featured-01-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Redmi-Note-10-Pro-Max-All-Colors-Featured-01-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Redmi-Note-10-Pro-Max-All-Colors-Featured-01-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Redmi-Note-10-Pro-Max-All-Colors-Featured-01-1920x1080.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Redmi Note 10 Pro</figcaption></figure>

<p>As per certifications and leaks, this smartphone will be nothing but a rebadged Redmi Note 10 Pro (aka Redmi Note 10 Pro Max) from 2021. It may be only sold in Southeast Asia and Europe as there’s only a ‘Global’ variant of it.</p>

<p>It will offer features like a 6.67-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G SoC, 108MP (wide) + 8MP (ultra-wide) + 5MP (telemacro) + 2MP (depth) quad-camera setup, 16MP selfie camera, dual stereo speakers, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 5,020mAh battery, and 33W fast charging support.</p>

<p>Interestingly, the phone <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/10/29/redmi-note-11-pro-2023-surfaces-on-geekbench-with-a-qualcomm-chipset-8gb-ram/">may boot</a> Android 11 though the original Redmi Note 10 Pro has received the Android 12 update.</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3><strong>Poco X5 5G</strong></h3>

<p>The Poco X5 5G could make its debut in November. If not, at least its Chinese variant bearing the Redmi branding might go official. Because the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/10/03/poco-x5-5g-spotted-on-imei-database-key-specs-launch-timeline-tipped/">model numbers</a> of this handset suggest an October release but the said month has already passed away.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="683" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/POCO-X4-Pro-5G-Featured-A-1024x683.jpeg?x10805" alt="POCO X4 Pro 5G" class="wp-image-446211" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/POCO-X4-Pro-5G-Featured-A-1024x683.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/POCO-X4-Pro-5G-Featured-A-300x200.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/POCO-X4-Pro-5G-Featured-A-768x512.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/POCO-X4-Pro-5G-Featured-A-696x464.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/POCO-X4-Pro-5G-Featured-A-1068x712.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/POCO-X4-Pro-5G-Featured-A-630x420.jpeg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/POCO-X4-Pro-5G-Featured-A-1920x1280.jpeg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Poco X4 Pro 5G</figcaption></figure>

<p>Unfortunately, we don’t have much information on it. The product is said to be marketed as a budget gaming smartphone.</p>

<p>It is said to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ SoC and a 120Hz display (LCD).</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3><strong>Xiaomi 13 Series</strong></h3>

<p>Two Xiaomi 13 series models, namely Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro, could debut in November. They are expected to house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which is also scheduled to go official this month.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="694" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Xiaomi-13-Pro.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi 13 Pro" class="wp-image-491215" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Xiaomi-13-Pro.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Xiaomi-13-Pro-300x203.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Xiaomi-13-Pro-768x521.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Xiaomi-13-Pro-696x472.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Xiaomi-13-Pro-620x420.jpg 620w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Xiaomi 13 Pro</figcaption></figure>

<p>The vanilla model is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/10/18/xiaomi-13-3c-certified-67w-fast-charging-tipped/">said to come</a> with a 6.38-inch FHD+ display, 50MP main camera, and 67W fast charging support. On the other hand, a lot more <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/10/31/xiaomi-13-pro-key-specs-leak/">has leaked</a> about the Pro variant.</p>

<p>The Xiaomi 13 Pro is tipped to arrive with a 6.7-inch QHD+ LTPO E6 AMOLED display, 50MP (1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor) + 50MP (ultra-wide) + 50MP (telephoto) triple camera array, 32MP selfie camera, Leica image processing, Surge C2/P2 chips, Android 13-based MIUI 14, 4,800mAh battery, and 120W fast charging support.</p>

<p>If you are wondering about the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, it will most probably release next year.</p>

<div style="height:50px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<h3><strong>Motorola Moto X40</strong></h3>

<p>The Motorola Moto X40 could release in November as one of the first Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phones, other than the Xiaomi 13 series. Just like the latter, the exact launch date is unknown.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Moto-X40-TENAA.webp?x10805" alt="Motorola Moto X40"/></figure>

<p>The device is expected to arrive with a 10-bit 6.67-inch FHD+ 165Hz curved display, LPDDR5x RAM, 50MP + 50MP + 12MP triple camera system, in-screen fingerprint sensor, 5,000mAh battery, and 68W fast charging support.</p>

<p>The product will likely go by Motorola Edge 40 Pro outside mainland China. The global debut could happen in Q1 2023.</p>

<div style="height:100px" aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-spacer"></div>

<p>Lenovo Group’s General Manager for Mobile Division, Chen Jin, has been teasing the arrival of the <a href="https://gizmochina.com/tag/motorola">Moto</a> X40 since the past few days. At the same time, the device, which has a model number of XT2031-5, has been bagging some vital certifications in China. After getting spotted at 3C, it surfaced with its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/10/28/moto-x40-images-leaked-via-tenaa-certification-launch-likely-this-year/">images on TENAA </a>earlier this week. The updated TENAA listing has now revealed the entire specifications of the Moto X40.</p>

<h2><strong>Moto X40 specifications (rumored)</strong></h2>

<p>The Moto X40’s TENAA listing (via. <em><a href="https://www.techgoing.com/moto-x40-full-specifications-of-snapdragon-8-gen-2-flagship-phone-revealed/?amp=1">TechGoing</a>)</em> reveals that it has a 6.67-inch OLED display. The screen offers a Full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels and 10-bit colors. It is integrated with an under-display fingerprint scanner. Reports have claimed that the device will carry support for a 165Hz refresh rate.</p>

<p>The TENAA listing reveals that the Moto X40 is powered by a 3.0GHz octa-core processor, which appears to be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform. The phone will arrive in China with 8 GB / 12 GB / 18 GB of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/10/28/moto-x40-officially-confirmed-to-feature-snapdragon-8-gen-2-lpddr5x-ram/">LPDDR5x</a> RAM and 128 GB / 256 GB / 512 GB of native storage.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="960" height="640" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Moto-X40-TENAA.webp?x10805" alt="Moto-X40-TENAA" class="wp-image-492897" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Moto-X40-TENAA.webp 960w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Moto-X40-TENAA-300x200.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Moto-X40-TENAA-768x512.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Moto-X40-TENAA-696x464.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Moto-X40-TENAA-630x420.webp 630w" sizes="(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /><figcaption>Moto-X40-TENAA</figcaption></figure>

<p>The predecessor model, Moto Edge X30, featured a 5,000mAh battery and supported 68W fast charging. The 3C certification of the Moto X40 revealed that it will also support <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/10/14/alleged-moto-x40-series-edge-40-pro-flagship-3c-certified-likely-to-launch-this-year/">68W rapid charging</a>. As far as the battery size is concerned, the listing states that it packs a &#8220;4,950mAh / 4,450mAh” battery. It probably houses a 5,000mAh battery.</p>

<p>The listing has no information on the front camera of the Moto X40. However, it is speculated to sport a 60-megapixel selfie snapper like its previous generation model. The back panel of the device has a 50-megapixel + 50-megapixel + 12-megapixel triple camera unit.</p>

<p>The X40 measures 161.3 x 73.9 x 8.5mm and weighs around 196 grams. Now that it has received 3C and TENAA certifications, it appears that it could be <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/10/27/moto-x40-with-snapdragon-8-gen-2-coming-soon-launch-teased/">one of the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phones</a> to go official. The device is expected to release with the “Motorola Edge 40 Pro” moniker in the global market. It is likely to arrive in markets outside of China by Q1 2023.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/motorola">Moto</a> X40&#8217;s launch date seems to be drawing near. The device has been recently spotted on certification platforms like 3C and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/10/28/moto-x40-images-leaked-via-tenaa-certification-launch-likely-this-year/">TENAA</a>. At the same time, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/10/27/moto-x40-with-snapdragon-8-gen-2-coming-soon-launch-teased/">Chen Jin</a>, the general manager of Lenovo’s China Mobile Phone Business Department, has started teasing the arrival of the Moto X40. Today, he confirmed two of the main features of the device.</p>

<p>Several reports have claimed that the Moto X40, which will be rebranded as the Motorola Edge 40 Pro in the global markets in the coming months, will come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform. In the screengrab of Chen Jin’s Weibo post, he can be seen hinting that the X40 is equipped with a &#8220;new flagship platform&#8221; and LPDDR5X RAM. The new flagship platform that he is talking about appears to be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform, which is expected to launch next month (November).</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="924" height="174" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/image-5.png?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-492709" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/image-5.png 924w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/image-5-300x56.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/image-5-768x145.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/image-5-696x131.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 924px) 100vw, 924px" /></figure></div>

<p>Its predecessor, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-edge-x30/">Moto Edge X30</a>, went official as the world’s first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 phone in December 2021. With 3C and TENAA certifications already under its belt, it appears that the Moto X40 could be one of the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phones to launch this year.</p>

<p>The Moto X40’s specifications haven’t yet appeared on TENAA. It only shows images of the phone, whereas its 3C certification reveals that it may be able to charge at 68W.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="600" height="569" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/x40-1.jpg?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-492714" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/x40-1.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/x40-1-300x285.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/x40-1-443x420.jpg 443w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /><figcaption>Moto X40 TENAA images</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>So far, reports have revealed that the Moto X40 will come with an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/06/30/motorolas-2023-snapdragon-8-gen-2-flagship-phones-specifications-revealed-could-be-edge-40-pro/">OLED display</a> that offers a 165Hz refresh rate, <a href="https://www.gizmcohina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-gen-2">Snapdragon 8 Gen 2</a>, and 8 GB / 12 GB LPDDR5x RAM variants. It will feature a 60-megapixel front camera and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/10/16/motorola-moto-x40-snapdragon-8-gen2-launch-by-end-of-2022/">50-megapixel</a> triple rear cameras.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/motorola">Motorola</a> is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/10/27/moto-x40-with-snapdragon-8-gen-2-coming-soon-launch-teased/">gearing up to launch</a> the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered Moto X40. The device will compete with other upcoming SD8G2 flagship phones like the Xiaomi 13 series, OnePlus 11, iQOO 11 series, and Vivo X90 lineup. The 3C authority in China is said to have <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/10/14/alleged-moto-x40-series-edge-40-pro-flagship-3c-certified-likely-to-launch-this-year/">certified the device</a>, and now the TENAA telecom authority has given it the green light (via. <em><a href="https://www.techgoing.com/moto-x40-spotted-at-tenaa-design-revealed/">TechGoing</a>)</em>. Hence, these certifications suggest that X40 may indeed launch this year.</p>

<p>The Moto X40 can be seen flaunting an OLED punch-hole screen with curved edges. Rumors are rife that the screen will support <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/06/30/motorolas-2023-snapdragon-8-gen-2-flagship-phones-specifications-revealed-could-be-edge-40-pro/">a 165Hz refresh rate</a> and a Full HD+ resolution. The volume buttons and a power key are available on the right side of the X40.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="960" height="640" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Moto-X40-TENAA.jpg?x10805" alt="Moto X40 TENAA" class="wp-image-492683" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Moto-X40-TENAA.jpg 960w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Moto-X40-TENAA-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Moto-X40-TENAA-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Moto-X40-TENAA-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Moto-X40-TENAA-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /><figcaption>Moto X40 TENAA images</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The screen seems to be embedded with a fingerprint sensor.&nbsp; It is speculated that the device will come equipped with a 60-megapixel camera for snapping selfies.</p>

<p>The square-shaped camera module available on the Moto X40’s back houses three cameras and an LED flash. The camera setup is said to be headlined by <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/10/16/motorola-moto-x40-snapdragon-8-gen2-launch-by-end-of-2022/">a 50-megapixel camera</a>. It will be paired by a 12-megapixel telephoto camera and another 50-megapixel camera that will be capable at capturing ultra-wide as well as macro shots.</p>

<p>The matte appearance of the phone’s back suggests that it may sport a leather finish. The Moto batwing logo is placed towards the center of the back panel.</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmcohina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-gen-2">Snapdragon 8 Gen 2</a>-powered Moto X40 is expected to arrive in 8 GB and 12 GB RAM variants. The device is expected to support 68W fast charging. The next-generation Motorola flagship is likely to run on Android 13 OS. At present, there is no word on the price of the X40. As far as the launch is concerned, it may go official in November or December of this year. The same device is expected to be released with the &#8220;Motorola Edge 40 Pro&#8221; moniker in the global market.</p>

<p>In 2021, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/motorola">Motorola </a>was the first brand to launch a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-powered phone. It unveiled the SD8G1-powered <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-edge-x30/">Moto Edge X30</a> in December of last year. Hence, speculation is rife that its successor will debut around the same time this year. The Moto X40 might be coming soon, according to a new teaser from Chen Jin, who is the Lenovo Group General Manager of Lenovo China Mobile Phone Business Department.</p>

<p>Jin’s Weibo post confirms the existence of the Moto X40. Motorola has dropped the Edge branding for its phones released in China. Hence, the Edge X30’s successor will be simply called the Moto X40. It appears that the flagship phone will be unveiled before the end of this year.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="902" height="138" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/image-4.png?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-492562" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/image-4.png 902w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/image-4-300x46.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/image-4-768x117.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/image-4-696x106.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 902px) 100vw, 902px" /></figure></div>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/10/14/alleged-moto-x40-series-edge-40-pro-flagship-3c-certified-likely-to-launch-this-year/">Earlier this month</a>, an upcoming Motorola phone with the XT2301-5 model number appeared in the database of China’s 3C certification platform. The 5G-enabled handset was seen with a 68W fast charger.  Most likely, the XT2301-5 will come out in the Chinese market under the name &#8220;Moto X40.&#8221;</p>

<p>The X40 will be available in the global market as well. However, it is likely to be rebranded as the Motorola Edge 40 Pro markets outside of China. Since the Edge 30 Pro was announced in March 2022, it seems that the Edge 40 Pro may debut by March 2023.</p>

The Edge branding was later dropped for the Chinese market. The X30 was rebranded as the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-edge-30-pro/">Motorola Edge 30 Pro</a> in the global market in January this year. There is a possibility that the company may release a new flagship phone in China by the end of this year. This seems possible as an alleged X-series flagship phone has bagged approval from the 3C authority of China.</p>
<p>A new Motorola phone with an XT2301-5 model number has appeared in the database of the 3C regulatory body. The listing reveals that it is a 5G phone, which may ship with a 68W charger. It seems that it could be the next X-series flagship phone, which may debut by December this year as a successor to the Moto Edge X30. So, it looks like the XT2301-5 might be sold in China under the name Moto X40 or something similar.</p>

These devices are speculated to be released in the global market as the Motorola Edge 40 and the Edge 40 Pro.</p>
<p>The Moto X40 heading to the Chinese market may get rebranded as the Edge 40 Pro in the global market. The alleged Moto X40 / Edge 40 Pro is expected to arrive with a 165Hz FHD+ OLED display, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-gen-2">Snapdragon 8 Gen 2</a> chipset, 8 GB / 12 GB of RAM, a 60-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 50-megapixel (main) + 50-megapixel (ultrawide + macro) + 12-megapixel (telephoto) triple camera unit.</p>
<p>It is best to take the report with a grain of salt and wait for more news to find out what the final marketing name of the Motorola XT2301 really is.</p>
