The next Amazfit smart wearable has been the subject of speculations in recent weeks. The company has now opened the lid on the Amazfit Band 7 which resembles the Xiaomi Smart Band 7. The Band 7 will run on Zepp OS and comes with 28-day battery life on normal usage. The new Amazfit smart wearable delivers several monitoring options and is priced at $49.99.
The Amazfit Band 7 has a large display and is available in several color options. The company had skipped the Band 5 moniker having launched the Amazfit Band 6 in 2020 as a rebadged Mi Band 5. The ZeppOS provides access to Alexa voice assistant, health/fitness monitoring, and an app store. Blood oxygen monitoring, heart rate tracking, stress, and sleep tracking are available on Band 7.
The smartwatch is preloaded with 120+ sports modes and is rated 5ATM water resistant. The absence of GPS tracking is one of the prominent highlights of the new smartwatch.
The smart band packs a decent 1.47-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 198 x 368 pixels and a pixel density of 282 PPI. The fitness band crams a generous 232mAh battery under the hood and it is touted to withstand up to 12 days of heavy usage. The battery life can be extended up to 28 days in battery saver mode.
The Amazfit Band 7 can be ordered from the Amazfit website and is presently available in multiple markets.

The Android 13 is expected to debut sometime in the next month, i.e. August 2022. Xiaomi is also expected to launch its Android 13-based MIUI 14 skin in the coming months.
MIUI 13
Now, a new report from Xiaomiui has revealed the MIUI 14 name on the codebase while also confirming its availability on Xiaomi 13 series smartphones.
Image via Xiaomiui
The MIUI 14 moniker has been spotted on the codebase, as seen in the above image. To summarise, the above code is intended to do the following – If the nuwa codenamed device (Xiaomi 13) has MIUI 14 or higher, the code displays the STK (SIM Toolkit) icon on the interface. To put it simply, this code checks the system app for MIUI 14.
The report predicts that the MIUI 14 could be officially unveiled in August, and will likely debut in the upcoming “nuwa” and “fuxi” smartphones which are expected to launch in November. So far, rumors suggest that the “nuwa” and “fuxi” are the codenames for the upcoming Xiaomi 13 series devices. This makes sense as Xiaomi debuted the MIUI 13 with the launch of the Xiaomi 12 series in December 2021.
The report also points out that Xiaomi could stop software support for the Mi 10 smartphone when the MIUI 14 launches. This, however, is a hunch based on the fact that Xiaomi stopped software support for the Mi 9 when the MIUI 13 launched last year.

Ever since Huawei faced various sanctions from the US, it saw a massive decline in its smartphone business operations. But, a new report has revealed some interesting details regarding the brand’s next gen flagship smartphone.
P50 Pro Galaxy Blue
For those unaware, the US had placed sanctions on the Chinese tech giant, which had it lose access to its primary chip supplier TSMC. The company typically used its proprietary HiSilicon Kirin chipsets, especially for its flagship smartphone models. But now, a new report from HuaweiCentral has offered us more information regarding the upcoming Huawei P60 model. Apparently, the new flagship phone will feature a new Kirin chipset that is based on the 14nm process and will be dubbed as the Kirin 9100 SoC.
The news arrives from a tipster who shared the information on Weibo (a Chinese microblogging website). In the social media post, the tipster reveled that despite being based on the 14nm process, the new chip’s performance will be comparable to a current gen 5nm process. Furthermore, this also signifies the company’s attempts at reviving its chipmaking subsidiary, HiSilicon, as well as production of its own integrated circuits. It is rumored that the premium P60 smartphone model will launch sometime in 2023.
For comparison, flagship processor from Qualcomm or Apple are based on the 5nm process, which houses 15 billion transistors. On the other hand, the 14nm process can only house around 2 billion transistors, and was used by Apple for its iPhone 6s back in 2015, which featured the A9 chipset. Keep in mind that this is still unconfirmed news at the moment, so stick around for more updates.

Up for review today we have Shellbot’s latest robot vacuum cleaner, the SL60 in our studio. It has very competitive pricing, but the performance reminds us of some expensive models we have reviewed.
In the past few years, robot vacuums have become one of the most popular smart-home devices, which are truly changing the way modern people live. Although those latest vacuums are revolutionized, the rapid growth of the category also brought a problem. Since most Robot Vacuums always advertise how smart they are, we started to wonder if they were ignoring a wider range of users.
Especially for those families with elders who have never used a robot vacuum, they really do not know which product is the most worth a try, or even how to operate it only on smartphones. The brand Shellbot seems to take such issues into consideration, and we found the SL60 robot vacuum can be a good option to fix the problem.
Accessories & Design
First, let’s check out what we can have inside the kit. The package includes a wide range of accessories. There’s a 2-in-1 water tank, a compact charging dock, a duster component, a remote control, mop cloths, a side brush, a rolling brush, and a power adapter.
Before the first run, you have to complete a simple assembly process by yourself. Users only need to attach the Side Brush to the bottom of the Robot Vacuum and place the Charging Dock on the wall. To activate both mopping and vacuuming, the duster module should be replaced with the water tank and additional mop cloth.
The SL60 has a modern and compact design, with a diameter of about 14 inches and the housing is just about 3.7 inches thick. Such body design allows it to cross under most furniture such as sofas and beds. There are many sophisticated sensors on the front of the robot vacuum, including a collision sensor, 3D ToF, vision camera, and infrared camera. they ensure that the SL60 travels efficiently while avoiding various obstacles scattered throughout the floor, and There is also a LIDAR on top for environmental scanning.
We hardly ever saw such a luxurious configuration on a model at the same price. They are not simply a stack of hardware, while in fact, they did offer efficient mapping and navigating during our running test.
First Run & Mapping
When using it for the first time, we need to place the SL60 on the charging dock and start a map creation. It explored every corner of the house and eventually returned to the charging dock automatically and a new map was created. The whole mapping process took only 15 minutes.
Users can further edit this map. For example by setting virtual walls and Restricted areas as the no-go zone to make the vacuum bypass these areas.
Shellbot provides customized house cleaning solutions with detailed settings. It’s able to set up a cleaning mode, select a suction power and a mopping-water volume, and then determine the cleaning times in the companion APP. And all the settings can also be applied to different rooms of the house.
Multiple control ways
For those older folks who don’t use smartphones well, the Shellbot SL60 comes with a wireless remote control that allows anyone to control the robot vacuum for most cleaning tasks. And even if the worst happens: the wireless remote is lost, users can still start auto-cleaning with the button on top of the vacuum and click another ‘home’ button to let it find its way back to recharge.
Cleaning & Noise
The SL60 supports a suction power of up to 4000Pa. The power suction made it easily suck in different kinds of dust, debris, and even hairs that we scatter across the floor. Under the auto mode, it can also automatically raises the Suction Level when detects that it is passing over a carpet. It’s a smart move since the scattered dust on carpets is usually harder to clean than dust on hard floors. As a 2-in-1 vacuum, instead of the larger dustbin, I preferred to equip it with the 2-in-1 water tank for daily use. Especially when I have to work at home all day, it cleans so well that it seems like everything will be easy for me too.
On the other hand, when the SL60 is working on Standard Suction, the noise it makes is acceptable during the day. but if you want to have a more powerful cleaning and don’t want to hear any noise, it’s better to create a Schedule cleaning in the app to have the vacuum automatically do the cleaning while you are out.
Battery & Charge
SL60 has a built-in 5200 mAh battery, supporting up to 200 minutes of continuous cleaning. And it also supports auto-recharge when it’s at a low battery. Unless you hope to use it to clean the entire baseball field at once, you don’t really have to worry about its battery life and efficiency in the daily cleaning.
Conclusion
As someone who is tired of repetitive chores, it’s great to see more and more new robot vacuums on the market. But some of them are really expensive and the lower priced models usually are disappointing. Surprisingly, Products like the SL60 with competitive pricing seem to be breaking that down. So if you are considering replacing the vacuum outdated or just trying one for the first time, the SL60 could be a good option. Now the SL60 is on sale at a deal price on Amazon.
