Up till now, Google’s Android Wear powered smartwatches were restricted to Android devices only. Not surprising since Apple Watch is only compatible with iOS ecosystem. But it looks like Google is taking the high road by finally unveiling the Android Wear app for iOS devices as well. This brings a lot of new compatible devices to the Android Wear powered smartwatches, opening a majority of iOS devices to the platform.
Google has stressed that the iOS experience will be “similar” to what the Android users get. However, since Google doesn’t have control over the iOS ecosystem like it does with Android, you can expect a few differences. But majority of the features like Google Now cards, rich notifications and voice commands will be available to iOS users connected to the Android Wear powered smartwatch.
Although officially, Google has said that LG Watch Urbane and all future Android Wear powered smartwatches will be compatible with iOS devices, users have reported that many old Android Wear smartwatches like LG G Watch, G Watch R and Moto 360 too are compatible with the app.
The supported iOS devices include iPhone 5, 5S, 5C, 6 and 6 Plus, provided they are running iOS 8.2 version or higher. These devices can download the app from the App Store and easily connect their Android Powered watches to their devices.
For the past couple of years, Meizu has been playing the catching up game with Xiaomi. But slowly, the company is expanding its product lineup as well as markets. The company recently entered India as well as a couple of other Asian markets. This must have definitely helped the company increase its overall sales.
Earlier today, Meizu reported that for the first time the company’s monthly sales exceeded 2.89 million units. This is a new record for the company it was only last year the company managed to break the 1 million monthly sales mark. So, to increase its sales nearly three fold in just a matter of 8 months is really impressive. Of course, this is no way near to what Xiaomi sells in a month, but it still shows that Meizu is expanding its affairs aggressively.
According to reports, Meizu managed to sell about 8.9 million units in the first half of 2015. At the current rate, the company could very well sell about twice the amount of smartphones sold in the first half. However, Meizu has already released most its smartphones for the year, like the Meizu M2 Note and the Meizu M2, so it would be interesting to see what will drive its sales in final quarter of the year.
One particular smartphone that interests us is the rumored super high-end model, which will reportedly feature Samsung Exynos 7422 chip. But the pricing is said to be above 3000 Yuan, as a result, we are not quite sure if this particular model will be able to drive sales even if its released before the end of the year.
Anyways, it looks like Meizu is going to rebrand itself with a new logo in the coming weeks. A recent leaked presentation revealed the logo as well as details about the above mentioned device. So, lets wait and watch how the company performs by the end of the year with these changes.
Although Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 was already available for sale a couple of times via flash sales, there were only limited colors available for the device. However, during the time of launch, the company had said that the Redmi Note 2 will come in five different colors. Now, Xiaomi has made all the other four colors available for purchase on its official website.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 China Mobile Edition will get five different color options like white, dark gray, pink, yellow, and blue. The price will still be 799 Yuan ($125) for the 2GB + 16GB version. However, as mentioned above, the additional four colors will only be available for the China Mobile edition. The other version starting at 899 Yuan will only have one color, white.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 with all these color options does turn out to be a great budget option. But despite its budget price tag, the specs are of a powerful mid-ranger. The Redmi Note 2 comes with a 5.5-inch FHD 1080p display with MT6795 octa-core processor under the hood. There will be 2GB of RAM on board along with 16GB / 32GB storage options. At the back, there will be a 13MP camera while up front, there will be a 5MP shooter. The battery capacity will be of 3060mAh, a slight upgrade from the previous generation. Finally, the phone will run on the latest MIUI 7 version based on Android 5.0.
Overall, a great package for $125! What do you think?
A few hours ago, LeTV’s CEO Jia Yueting announced that the company will keep a conference on September 7 to add some new colors for you to see. Judging from the statement, we can assume that the company will most likely unveil a special limited edition version of its devices at the event. And now, we might have our first look at the Pink Colored LeTV phone edition.
The new leak, which comes via Weibo shows a pink colored LeTV smartphone. From the image, it looks like the LeTV Max smartphone that was announced in April. So, the coming Monday, i.e. September 7, we might see the Pink colored version of the LeTV Max. This edition would be ideal for women who would like a premium phablet experience in a pretty color like pink. It is said that the phone will support all the three major carries in China.
Apart from the pink colored version, we might see a number of other editions too targeted at different users, because it doesn’t make sense to keep a special conference just to unveil one particular limited edition model. Some say that we may also see a special announcement, which could be for a new phone. Remember, a few weeks back, LeTV Hong Kong Facebook Page released a teaser about an upcoming Snapdragon 820 powered LeTV smartphone? Well, we could possibly hear more about this phone at the event. But for now, the company has been quite about its new device. So, lets wait for the official announcement before getting too excited.
Since then, we have heard a couple of times about the new generation model supporting both Windows 10 and Android Operating systems. So, in such a scenario, users can use both Windows 10 as well as MIUI 7 on a single device.
Now, Xiaomi has officially released a new teaser on Weibo, with the words, Xiaomi Mi Pad x 2 = ????. Considering this teaser, it looks like Xiaomi will announce the new Mi Pad 2 tomorrow. Although the “x 2” in the teaser could mean second generation, but given the way its presented, it may also hint at the possibility of dual OS support.
We have seen small time manufacturers like Teclast, Vido and Ramos highlight dual OS support for their tablets, but major manufacturers still are reluctant to include two different OSes in a machine. So, it would really be exciting to see if Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 provides dual boot support.
However, we may not see the new Mi Pad 2 as early as tomorrow. If we consider the tradition, often the first teasers from Xiaomi are for the date of the launch event. So, tomorrow we may just see an announcement from the company about a new product launch event.
Anyways, this does confirm the existence of a new Mi Pad version. So, lets patiently wait for more information later tomorrow.
We all loved the first generation Moto 360 smartwatch, particularly because it was one of the first round smartwatches in the market. But ever since the companies understood that a round watch is much more popular than a square one, we have seen a shift in the market. Even startup Chinese companies like No.1, have released round smartwatches.
Now, the second generation Moto 360 launch is around the corner and we have more details about the device. According to the latest information, the new round Moto 360 smartwatch will come in two sizes. Motorola is also expected to reveal different colored version of the watch. Apart from the new color and size options, there’s hardly any drastic design changes. The only major one was shifting the physical button to the 2 o’clock position.
As for the other specs, the new Moto 360 watch is said to feature Snapdragon 410/ 412 processor with 512MB RAM and 4Gb of internal storage.
The second gen Moto 360 smartwatch is expected to be showcased at IFA Berlin next month. So, lets wait till then for more details on the new watch from Motorola.
It looks like Meizu will rebrand itself with a new logo in the coming months. According to a leaked PPT presentation, the company is considering a new logo to replace its current one. The PPT was from the company’s visual marketing department and mainly concerned with Meizu’s rebranding with the help of a new logo.
Thank to the presentation, we have our first look at the new Meizu logo. The upgraded logo looks a lot more refined and in tune with new age technology companies. The strokes are even and the letters have a uniform height and thickness unlike the previous one. In my personal opinion, this looks much better than the one used by Meizu at present.
Although we are now kind of sure that Meizu will upgrade its logo soon, this may not necessarily be the final design. This was just a ppt presentation shown to the company executives and the final logo will depend on the decision made by the company. So, the new logo may be different when the company announces it later.
In the same ppt presentation, there was a mention of a new high-end brand. But that’s not really surprising since the company executive had already confirmed this. Unfortunately, even in the ppt, the name was not specified. So, we will have to wait for a bit longer to get more details.
So, what do you think about the new Logo? Looks good?
Back when Xiaomi announced the Xiaomi Mi4i, we were all surprised to see that there was no domestic version of the device. Later, TENAA listing and leaks confirmed that a special version of the Mi4i, domestically called as the Xiaomi Mi4c will come to China in the coming weeks.
Now, we have more information about the device, thanks to a new leak which shows off the retail box of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi4c. The leak reveals most of the specifications of the device. Thanks to TENAA, we already knew that the Mi4c will feature a more powerful Snapdragon 808 hexa-core chip clocked at 1.8GHz. Other specs were expected to be similar to the Mi4i. However, today this leak reveals yet another surprise. The box states that the Xiaomi Mi4c will come with the new USB Type-C port instead of the traditional one that was used in the Mi4i.
It looks like the Chinese version of the Xiaomi Mi4i will be much more powerful and feature rich than the international model. Other specs are more or less the same. So, the Xiaomi Mi4c is expected to come with a 5-inch IPS display with full HD 1080p resolution. There will be 2GB of RAM on board along with 16GB of ROM, 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front facing one. Under the hood, expect a 3000mAh battery. The phone will come with Android 5.1.1 with MIUI 7 OS on top. The dimension are expected to be exactly the same as the Mi4i, 138.1 x 69.6 x 7.8 mm. Also, it should weigh just about 130 grams.
Interestingly, despite the powerful specs, the Xiaomi Mi4c is expected to retail for just 1,299 Yuan. That’s almost the same price as the international variant with the slower Snapdragon 615. It is said that the Mi4c will be announced in the first week of September.
Since the launch of the three new models in the LeTV One series, we haven’t heard much from the company. The only exciting thing that happened recently was a teaser which revealed that the next LeTV flagship will come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset. Unlike other Chinese manufacturers who soon jump into the accessories market for their flagships, LeTV is a bit late to the party. However, the company recently listed its 13,400mAh power bank on the famous Chinese retailer JD.com for crowd sourcing.
The specs of the LeTV Power Bank are quite impressive. It comes with 4 LG/ Panasonic high density 3350mAh capacity batteries that take the total capacity 13,400mAh. There will two USB output ports with a maximum output power up to 20W. The highlight of the LeTV Power Bank is that its supports bi-directionalQuick Charge QC 2.0 specification. This means, you can charge the power bank at high speed as well as charge your smartphone at high speed.
The bi-directional QC2.0 supports fast charge at 9V/ 2A or 12V/ 1.5A. It is said that it takes only about 4.5 hours to completely charge the 13,400mAh power bank to its full capacity, using a QC 2.0 charger. Also, when charging other devices, if it supports QC 2.0, then you can charge about 55% of the phone’s capacity within 30 minutes. In case you are wondering, Nexus 6 and Mi Note support QC 2.0.
The company has even given reference to the capacity of the power bank. You can charge the iPhone 6 4.5 times, the LeTV Max 2.5 times and the iPad Mini 2 times with this 13,400mAh capacity power bank.
The company has not revealed the official price tag of the LeTV Power Bank, but expect it to retail between 100 Yuan and 150 Yuan.
Chinese tech companies are striving to provide consumers globally with products that are not only affordable, but feature a high level of flexibility. Leeline WT10 happens to be such a product that is not only fast, but it also flexible in the sense that it is the world’s first rugged tablet that can either run Windows 8.1, or Android 4.4.4.
While most tablets are sensitive mobile products, Leeline WT10 has been constructed to hold out against the elements by featuring a rugged chassis. In short, the outer casing of the mobile device will protect its internals and screen when it is dropped or scrapped against a rough surface. Leeline WT10 does not disappoint in the hardware specifications department either, since its 10.1 inch screen renders a resolution of 1280 by 800 pixels.
Additionally, the large screen slate is also running Intel’s Baytrail-T Z3735D/F chipset, which is running a quad-core processor at 1.33GHz (the clock speed can go up to 1.86GHz, depending on which chipset model you end up purchasing). Apart from the quad-core processor, 2GB RAM is also running plus 32GB of internal storage. When we said that the tablet is a very flexible option, we meant it.
Not only is Leeline WT10 incorporated with a microUSB port, it also features a completely functional USB 2.0 port and an HDMI port. Perhaps its biggest selling point is the fact that its processor supports both Android and Windows, allowing you to choose which operating system can run before it is shipped out to you. Currently, there is no information on whether or not the Windows 8.1 version will be upgraded to Windows 10, but if it does, it will have another selling point added to the list.
There is also a docking station that can not only charge the tablet, but it also features 3 USB 2.0 ports and an RJ45 Ethernet port for connectivity purposes. As for the battery capacity, there is a 9,000mAh removable cell present at the rear side of the tablet along with a 5/2MP camera sensor combination that will provide a nice solution for video calling purposes.
Despite the fact that it possesses such a high price tag, we believe that Leeline WT10 is honestly the perfect solution that we have seen from a tablet so far. Not only does it support running Android, or Windows, but it is also rugged windows tablet, has a large battery capacity, and a full flesh USB 2.0 port. If you can handle the price, then this tablet should definitely be your next purchase.
There has been a lot of hype about the OnePlus smartphones in a past year or so and the first iteration of the OnePlus was successful despite lots of questionable marketing decisions and annoying invite system.
Right now OnePlus says it is much more prepared and the company has very ambitious plans in the smartphone business. But is the second generation OnePlus really a 2016 flagship killer? Let’s find out.
We wanted to say thanks to Giztop.com for providing us with the OnePlus 2 review unit.
So there you have it, the OnePlus 2, the most hyped Chinese smartphone of the year.
We can see a significant improvement in the build quality over its predecessor simply because of the choice of materials and overall the device looks and feels like a premium phone.
Also, the phone brings some welcome additions like a fingerprint scanner, mute switch, OIS, laser auto-focus and so on.
While the OnePlus 2 has a top-notch processor and some other bleeding-edge specs, and it handles the most graphically intensive tasks without a sweat, the day to day usage suggests that UI needs some more polishing.
The device has a great camera for daylight images but it still needs some software optimisations for a faster shutter speed, low-light images and video recording.
So is the OnePlus 2 a 2016 flagship killer? If you don’t care about the price of the device, which starts at just $329, then no. If you consider the overall package and the price ratio, OnePlus 2 can be a tough competitor for each and every big player in the smartphone game. However, it may become so only when quiet a few software related issues are fixed. Knowing the level of dedication OnePlus has and the story of its predecessor, it sounds very realistic.
We have been seeing a lot of leaks about the two upcoming Nexus devices this year, one made by LG and the other made by Huawei. Both the handsets are expected to feature unique design with powerful specs at least according to the initial set of renders and leaks that we have heard. Now, we have come across yet another render of the LG Nexus 5 2015, much clearer and better than the pictures leaked before. This particular render comes to us via the known leakster OnLeaks.
As you can see from the picture above, the design looks similar to the real life pictures of the handset that we saw in the past. There’s the camera hump along with a fingerprint sensor just below it. We can even see dual LED flash and some other sensor (probably Laser Focus) on the side.
LG Nexus 5 2015 Case Leaked by OPPOMART
The only major difference between this render and the earlier leak is the lack of the Nexus branding at the back. The real life image of the LG Nexus 5 2015 came with a large Nexus branding on the back shell, which is missing here. However, considering that this is just a render, it possible that the maker didn’t consider it important to include it in the image.
As for the specs, the LG Nexus 5 2015 will reportedly come with a 5.2-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor, 3GB RAM, 13MP camera with OIS and Laser Autofocus, 5MP front facing shooter and finally Android 6.0 Marshmallow right out of the box.
A new rumor says that the LG made Nexus will debut on 29th of September, which gives us exactly one month till launch. However, we haven’t heard any official announcement or invitation from the company, so lets wait for something more concrete.
We have seen couple of smart routers from Xiaomi, including a 1TB version. Given that most manufacturers tend to follow Xiaomi, it won’t be surprising to see a router from Xiaomi’s closest rival, Meizu. And now, a known leakster from Weibo, KJuma has just released a few set of images which is reportedly of the patent application of the Meizu router.
The Meizu router is supposed to feature a similar design to Xiaomi’s smart router. However, its more of a cuboid rather than cyclindrical. The sides are not as round as the Xiaomi router, but the company’s design may have been partially inspired from Xiaomi’s device.
It looks like all of the buttons and the ports are at the lower region of the router. The other sides are most likely clean.
Unfortunately, at this juncture, we have no other information about this Meizu router. But given that the company has applied for patents, we can expect to see more information in the coming days

Doogee Y100X, performance and features
Design
Doogee bet this time for a terminal in a minimalist style, in which the frames are reduced to a minimum, so that its 5-inch screen, is the absolute protagonist.
Its thickness of 8 mm and its weight of just over 100 grams, are one of the great attractions of this smartphone, light and equally fine. And it is that the 5-inch phablets are fine, but for those users who prefer a smartphone that is comfortable to carry and handle, it is probably better to give a little screen size in exchange for a terminal that offers us comfort.
Technical specifications
This handset 3G , has a MTK6582 Quad Core 1.3GHz processor , which together with 1 GB of RAM and a graphics processor GPU: Mali-400 MP, will not have problems with the usual apps.

Doogee Y100X a terminal lower-middle range
As you can see, the performance of this smartphone are below what we today offer models concerning the big brands. However, we must bear in mind that price, we can not ask the impossible. And there is a sector of consumers, not seeking high performance but simply comfort and economy . This mobile android , like other models Doogee , is specially designed for them by their value.

Elephone have today sent over several images of their soon to be released Elephone M2 Business phone, its shaping up to be a great looking phone, unfortunately the images do not show the screen in use so I cannot advise on the size of the bezels.
The confirmed specification is as follows Mediatek MT6753 octa-core SOC running at 1.5GHz, 5.5″ 1080p display, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, fingerprint scanner and metal unibody.
These are pretty much standard specifications for a mid range handset at the current time, so the phone will need to have some standout design and software elements or a very competitive price to compete and win business.
A lot of opinion is being thrown in to the ring regarding Elephone’s high turnover of new models, are you on the side of more choice equals better choice? or do you long for the days when manufacturers released 1 or 2 phones a year? or does the fact they are being aimed at ‘different’ markets make much of a difference to you opinion.

Yesterday, we saw that the Lenovo Vibe P1 was listed by the Chinese retailer, Pandawill. While we had got our hands on some pretty good pictures of the device, now, we have come across a set of real life pictures of the Vibe P1. Lenovo is reportedly going to showcase the handset at IFA Berlin.
We have seen a couple of all metal flagships from Lenovo recently. The Lenovo Vibe P1 is yet another addition to the list, thanks to the all metal body made out of magnesium alloy. As we mentioned yesterday, the 5000mAh battery is going to be its selling point. However, what’s really impressive is that the company has managed to keep the overall body quite compact, measuring just 9.9mm in thickness. Even the phone’s 189g weight is acceptable considering the battery size.
The leaked pictures show that the silver color particularly highlights its metal body. The design is also unique with a non-removable battery cover. Usually, you will find the SIM card and memory card slots on the sides, however, the Lenovo Vibe P1 has these slots around the lower back shell. You can remove a small portion of the back, wherein you’ll find these slots.
Another interesting feature of the device is the fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button. As for the processor, you get the third generation of Snapdragon 615 under the hood with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. As mentioned above, you get a MicroSD card slot, so the memory is expandable. There will be a 13MP camera at the back along with a 5MP front facing shooter. The software is supposed to be Vibe 2.68 based on Android 5.1 OS.
You can take a look at the leaked real life pictures of the Vibe P1 from down below.
UMI is on a roll this year. After releasing the UMI eMax and UMI Iron mid-range flagships, the company is now working on the UMI eMax Mini. This phone is special for the company as it will be the first Snapdragon powered UMI device in the market.
We got a few of specs of the UMI eMAx Mini. First of all, the phone will come with an octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm chipset under the hood. This will undoubtedly be the Snapdragon 615 that currently powers a number of mid-range flagships such as the Xiaomi Mi4i. The eMax Mini will come with a 5-inch FHD IPS-NEO display from Sharp. As you can see, the display will be smaller than the 5.5-inch panel found on the eMax. The display reportedly comes with almost twice the color gamut as compared to standard IPS panels.
As for the battery, the UMI eMax Mini will feature a 3050mAh battery under the hood. This is slightly less than the 3780mAh capacity battery found on the eMax. The battery is more than enough for a 5-inch device, and in fact, will be bigger than most other Snapdragon 615 powered devices in the market right now. Unfortunately, we hear that the battery won’t be removable.
This is all we know about the UMI eMax right now. No details on the RAM, storage or connectivity. But we hope to get more info pretty soon. So stay tuned to gizmochina in the coming days.
With the Elephone Q phone, Elephone are set to release yet another new smartphone on to the market, but this time rather than go bigger and add higher specs, they are doing something very different.
The Elephone Q phone will run Android Kitkat but it’s dimensions are just 90mm x 43mm x 11.5mm, in order to be this small the screen is a 2.45″ TFT LCD with capacitive touch and support for 256 thousand colours with a resolution of just 240 x 432.
The phone will be running Android Kitkat on a 1ghz Mediatek MTK6572 soc with 4gb ROM and 512kb RAM, storage is upgradable via micro SD up to an additional 32gb.
Power will be provided by a 550mAH Lithium Ion battery, given the smaller screen size as well as the lower clock speed of the MTK6572, the phone should see ok amounts of usage from the battery, standby time is quoted at 110 hours with talk time at 4 hours (it wont set any records for its longevity).
A lot of you are probably asking at this time, whats the point of such a phone? who wants or needs something like this? is there even a market for such a phone?
The Elephone Q phone is looking to fill a niche, they are hoping that the market for a small phone that features high-quality sound for use as an MP3 player, along with features like pedometer, smartwake, sleep monitoring and sedentry timer etc as well as the ability to run apps and make calls will make it a smart choice to fill your pocket when you don’t want to be carrying the bulk of a large phone or tablet.
Will you consider something like the Elephone Q phone? would you have one of these as your go to phone for your gym workout or when out running or cycling? or perhaps this could be a phone for the pockets of your younger children that want a smartphone but are not yet in a position or at an age when you want to give them a high end smartphone.
This is either a very smart move from Elephone or a move that will see them left with inventory un-moved, but that will depend more on how it is welcomed to the market and how big the market they can carve out is.
As yet pricing and release schedules have not been announced, but judging by the video below, the phone appears to be nearing completion, so I would expect Elephone to be readying the release fairly soon.
A couple of weeks back, we came across a new report which said that Xiaomi was working on its own independent processor. The new Xiaomi chip was expected to debut sometime early 2016. Now, we have some new information about the chip.
It is said that Xiaomi will release two different versions of its independent processor. The first one will be a low-end chip which will be used in the company’s super cheap Redmi series. Xiaomi will particularly focus on decreasing the cost of the chip. This would be ideal for the company in the low-end segment as it can reduce the price tag to even a lower level. Of course, this won’t be good news for its direct competitors like Meizu, who still relies on third party chipset manufacturers.
The second version is said to be a higher-end octa-core chip which will go inside its mid-range devices. However, the source stresses that Xiaomi will still rely on Qualcomm made processors for its high-end models. So, premium devices like the Xiaomi Mi Note and Mi5 will most likely use Qualcomm’s flagship chipsets.
The company is expected to release the new chips in 2016, which is still a few months away. But until then, we are sure to come across more information about these independent Xiaomi chipsets. So, stay tuned for more information.
From all the rumors we have been hearing about the upcoming iPhones, we kind of know that there will three smartphone launches this year by Apple, namely the iPhone 6S, the 6S Plus and the iPhone 6C. Last year, the company didn’t release a successor to the iPhone 5C, but this time around, many reports have claimed that we might see a new iPhone 6C.
Well, now we have one more reason to believe that the iPhone 6C is coming. Our sources have just revealed to us that the iPhone 6C will have a same design as the iPhone 5C. The news comes directly from the factory sources, which means it could turn out to be true. What’s more, the design is supposed to be so similar that the cases for the iPhone 5C will most likely fit the upcoming iPhone 6C.
In case you don’t remember, the iPhone 5C came with a glossy plastic design in a number of colors. It was quite compact, featuring just 4-inch display. This actually makes sense. We have been hearing rumors about a compact 4-inch iPhone 6C for the past few weeks. So, with our sources confirming this, we may very well see the iPhone 6C with a 4-inch display.
