Letv has introduced its latest smartphone, the Letv S3 Pro. This follows their previous launch of the Letv S2 Pro smartphone in 2023. While the S2 Pro debuted at 999 CNY, the newly released S3 Pro comes at a reduced price of 699 CNY (approximately 96 USD), making it more affordable than its predecessor.

Similar to the iPhone lineup’s camera arrangement, the Letv S2 Pro featured a design. The S3 Pro continues this tradition, boasting a 6.7-inch OLED display. Powered by the MediaTek Helio G95 chipset, the phone includes a metal mid-frame for durability.

The Letv S3 Pro is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery supporting 18W charging, along with stereo speakers. Its triple camera array includes a 50 MP main camera, and it’s available in two colors: white and black.

In January of this year, Letv launched the Letv S1 Pro smartphone with an iPhone 14 Pro-like design in the Chinese market. Now, the brand has launched the Letv S2 Pro as its successor edition in China. Well, it does not look like the recent iPhone 15 series to begin with. However, it has an interesting leather-like finish on the back. Some of its key highlights include an HD+ display, a MediaTek chip, a large battery, and a 13-megapixel triple camera unit.

The Letv S2 Pro showcases a front design characterized by a corner punch-hole display. The intriguing rear panel of the device is equipped with a crocodile leather-textured material. A distinct camera module surrounded by a gold finish adds to its distinctive appearance.

The Letv S2 Pro has a 6.5-inch LCD panel that offers an HD+ resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and a 60Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the device is equipped with the 12nm MediaTek MT8788 chipset, which was announced in 2018. The SoC is complemented by 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of built-in storage, and a 4,900mAh battery. LeEco (formerly LeTV) continues to expand its product lineup. The company, which is currently in a deep collaboration with Huawei, recently introduced its new S Series projector. Notably, the most eye-catching feature of the product was the HiSilicon chip developed by Huawei. Now, LeEco has officially released the X Series portable smart projector. The LeEco X Series projector is equipped with a custom Huawei HiSilicon chip, supports automatic focus, intelligent obstacle avoidance, AI intelligent voice, and runs the Letv OS custom system.

Unfortunately, the resolution of the mentioned projector was not stated in the announcement. However, previous leaks suggested that it would support 4K + HDR.

Pricing and Availability

The 500CVIA lumen performance version of the LeEco X Series Portable Smart Projector is priced at 2,199 yuan and will be available in September. The 450CVIA lumen entertainment version is priced at 1,899 yuan and will be available in October.

LeTV held a conference on September 25, 2023, to launch its new S series projector. The line consists of two projectors, distinguished by their brightness and price. So let’s talk about the specifications, features, and availability of the LeTV S series projector in this article.

LeTV S Series Projector

The LeTV S series projector has a 1080p resolution, a 1300:1 contrast ratio, and 4K decoding, which means you can feed it a 4K signal and it will downscale it to 1080p. However, it only supports decoding for H.264 or mp4 video formats. It can project a screen from 50 to 200 inches in size.

The biggest difference between the two projectors is their brightness: 600CVIA lumens for the higher-end model and 550CVIA lumens for the lower-end model. Both models have a customized high-brightness, optical engine and support autofocus, intelligent obstacle avoidance, and fully automatic keystone correction.

Additionally, the projectors are equipped with a Huawei HiSilicon chip, 2GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage. They run a new customized LeTV OS system and support Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0.

Design-wise, the projector has a rectangular body with the output lamp on the right. It has a dual-tone finish with bold black on the front portion and light black on the remaining body. The back of the device also has connectivity options, including two USB ports, two HDMI ports, a LAN port, and an AV port. As for the audio, the projector has a 15W speaker. And with all these components inside it, it weighs about 5.8 kg.

Pricing and Availability

In terms of cost, the 600CVIA lumen brightness model is priced at 3,499 yuan and will be available in September. The 550CVIA lumen brightness version is priced at 2,999 yuan and will be available in October.

LeEco, a Chinese consumer electronics brand has launched its all-new LeEco Super TV S85 in China. The Super TV S85 is a limited edition product that commemorates the 10th anniversary of LeEco’s foray into the television market.

This TV model features an exclusive theme skin that draws inspiration from the highly acclaimed drama, The Legend of Zhen Huan. Additionally, fans of the show will be delighted to receive a specially designed Huan Huan pillow with their purchase of this television.

As for its technical specifications, this 85-inch television boasts an impressive 4K display, complete with a star-style partition backlight capable of controlling up to 120 zones of up to 1000 nits brightness. The TV has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and supports HDR10, HLG, and up to 92% DCI P3 wide color gamut.

Earlier today (4th January 2023), LeTV silent announced a new smartphone in the Chinese market. The company unveiled a new budget 5G enabled device, but its design looks awfully similar to the Apple iPhone 14 Pro. So let’s have a look.

The Chinese consumer electronics maker has yet to reveal finer details regarding this device but has officially announced the new LeTV S1 Pro model. Under the hood, the upcoming handset is equipped with the Huben T7510 SoC, which apparently offers performance that can rival the Snapdragon 7 series from Qualcomm. This is a China made chipset that been popular for domestic brands in the region.

Unfortunately, the company did not share any other key details regarding this smartphone. However, its most highlight aspect is undoubtedly its design. Similar to the LeTV Y1 Pro+, which features an iPhone like design, the new S1 Pro features a physical appearance that resembles the iPhone 14 Pro series. The arrangement of the three cameras on the rear is nearly identical to the more expensive iPhone models, while the front also houses a pill shaped cutout, which the Cupertino based giant calls the Dynamic Island.

Although, it is still unclear if the brand aims to offer similar functionalities from this selfie camera cutout. The LeTV S1 Pro is set to be released in China for a price tag of under 1,000 Yuan or about 145 US Dollars. LeTV made a comeback in China last year. Since then, the company has announced multiple products spread across different categories like smart TV, smartphone, wearable, accessory, and more. However, none of these products are intriguing. The company plans to change this with a launch of a new smartphone.

LeTV S1

According to ITHome, LeTV recently held a media conference. At the event, the company announced certain future plans. One of them involves a phone.

The firm revealed that it is working on a new smartphone. This handset will be powered by a mid to high-end MediaTek chipset. It will flaunt a 2K curved display. Hence, it could be a premium device.

Apart from the chip and display details, the company also disclosed that the phone will sport a 64MP main camera and leather back finish. Last but not least, it will house a 5,000mAh battery.

These specs sound way better than what LeTV offers on its current handsets. For the unaware, the company currently sells three smartphones in its home country, namely LeTV S1, LeTV Y1 Pro, and LeTV Y2 Pro.

The S1 is just another budget smartphone. Whereas, the Y1 Pro and Y2 Pro are cheap knock-offs of iPhone 13 and iPhone Pro, respectively.

All three handsets are powered by Unisoc chipsets. They are limited to 4G connectivity and ship with HMS (Huawei Mobile Services).

A couple of months ago, LeTV launched its entry-level smartphone named LeTV Y1 Pro in the Chinese market and now the company has announced its successor in China, dubbed as LeTV Y2 Pro.

The newly announced LeTV Y2 Pro smartphone has a starting price of 599 yuan and will be available for pre-order in the coming weeks.

The smartphone is an upgrade over its predecessor and comes with a design that looks exactly the same as the Apple iPhone 13 Pro. The company has revealed that the phone comes with a fingerprint sensor and face unlock for unlocking the device.

The LeTV Y2 Pro features a 6.5-inch display and supports split-screen operations. Under the hood, the phone is powered by an octa-core Unisoc processor. In the memory department, it comes packed with up to 6GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

There’s a triple-camera setup on the back that includes a 13-megapixel primary camera sensor. The device runs the Android 11 operating system and has Huawei HMS service instead of Google’s GMS and the phone is powered by a 4,000mAh battery.

The LeTV Y2 Pro is offered in three color options — Magic Night Black, Electric Blue, and Summer Orange. The 4GB RAM + 32GB storage model costs 599 yuan (~$89) while the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage model is priced at 799 yuan (~$119). There’s also a 6GB RAM and 256GB storage model costing 999 yuan (~$148).

LeTV launches a 10000mAh power bank with four data cables & flashlight

Chinese tech company LeTV has launched a new power bank that offers charging functions for a broad category of devices. The power bank carries a highly affordable price tag of 69 yuan (~$30) and is targeted at the annual 618 sales festival in China.

The new LeTV power bank is armed with a decent 10000mAh battery capacity which can charge more than one device for a considerable amount of time. The power bank also comes with four different charging cords that can’t be detached from the device. The short length of the cord ensures that there won’t be issue of entanglement and users can easily charge their device while on the go without having to deal with a long charging cord.

The four charging cables onboard the LeTV power bank include an Apple Lightning cable, a USB Type-C cable, a Micro-USB cable and a USB interface. It can charge four devices at the same time, compatible with mainstream digital devices such as mobile phones, tablets, and game consoles. However, the power bank does not offer fast charging, only a maximum power output of 5V/2A. Thus, charging time can be relatively long.

In terms of charging, it supports three-port input, the built-in USB power cable can be used directly to charge the power bank. It also supports Type-C and Micro USB input interface charging.

According to data from LeTV Lab, the 10,000mAh power bank can charge the iPhone 13 from zero to full charge twice and about 1.6 times for Huawei P50, about 1.4 times for Xiaomi 12, and about 1.5 times for the Nintendo Switch. Nothing really spectacular but then, it is cheap!

Through intelligent identification, it can directly charge low-current devices such as LeTV Bluetooth headsets and LeTV smart bands to meet the charging needs of low-current devices. Interestingly, the power bank also has dual LED flashlights for emergency lighting.

LeTV Y1 Pro budget smartphone launched in China, with iPhone 13-like design

Earlier today (31st May 2022), LeTV quietly launched a new smartphone in the company’s home market of China. The model in question is the Y1 Pro, which is a new budget grade handset.

Talking about it design first, the LeTV Y1 Pro features a design that appears to be highly inspired by the Apple iPhone 13 model. It sports a flat rear panel but rounded corners, with the camera module and image sensor alignment also being nearly identical. On the front, it sports a notch display, which is surrounded by a metallic frame. The Chinese brand is marketing the smartphone as a budget flagship model and is offering a premium build quality at a cost effective price tag.

The display is a 6.5 inch LCD panel that has a 1560 x 720 pixel resolution. Under the hood, it is equipped with a UNISOC Tiger T310 SoC, which is a 4G enabled chipset. This processor is paired with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. A 4,000mAh battery pack powers the device and it supports just standard 10W charging and a USB Type C charging port.

LeEco launches Electric Water Heater S01, with LED display & antibacterial mode

LeEco has just released a new product in China. The new device in question is the Electric Water Heater S01, which, as the name suggests, is a fast thermal electric water heater.

The Chinese consumer electronics maker just launched the Electric Water Heater S01 that sports a large LED display. Furthermore, it has a capacity of 25 liters and has a 5000W fast heating function. The LeEco Electric Water Heater S01 has a thickness of 290mm, which is smaller than conventional water heaters that have are usually 100mm larger. In other words, it has a more compact design and form factor.

As per official claims, this water heater can even be opened and washed as well. Its upper and lower regions have double layered heating pipes that enable it to have a continuous supply of water. Notably, the electric water heater also has three modes, including warm water mode, summer bath mode, and winter bath mode. Users can cycle between these different modes with just a single button. One of its high lighting features is the antibacterial mode, which makes the water safer for the users.

Letv Watch W6 released with 1.39-inch round AMOLED display & SpO2 tracking

Letv has now released the Letv Watch W6 smartwatch barely a few weeks after the launch of its S1 mobile phone. The watch is equipped with a 1.39-inch AMOLED “high-definition retina color” display for crisp visuals.

Dozens of personalized watch faces have also been provided for endless customization. The watch supports blood oxygen saturation, heart rate, sleep monitoring, and 7 sports modes. It also comes with support for advanced functions like Bluetooth calls and music playback.

In terms of battery life, the Letv Watch W6 can last up to 7 days on standby and for 2-3 days in “normal use.” This is thanks to a 300mAh battery which takes 2-3 hours to fill up to a hundred percent.

The smartwatch is rated IP67 for protection against the elements. This means that is completely protected against solid objects like dust and sand, and has been tested to work for 30 minutes under up to 1m of water.

The Letv Watch W6 weighs 70g and measures 245 x 45.5 x 12.3mm. It supports anything above Android 5.0 and iOS 9.0. It does not come with built-in GPS.

The watch will be available in two trendy colors: Vibrant Orange and Star Black. It is currently available at Letv Mall. It is priced at 599 yuan but is selling at an introductory price of 499 Yuan.

Letv S1 specs revealed as it goes on sale in China

A few days back, Letv announced its first smartphone after a long time. This handset called Letv S1 offers 5G connectivity and costs only ¥1,599 ($248). As the device is now up for sale in China, its entire specs have been revealed by the company.

The newly released Letv S1 features a plastic build like any other budget smartphone. It flaunts a 6.53-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels (HD+) and a dewdrop notch.

The handset comes powered by a UNISOC Tiger T7510 SoC paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. On the software front, it runs FreemeOS 9.1.0 based on Android 9.0 Pie with HMS (HUAWEI Mobile Services).

Further, the back of the phone houses a vertically aligned triple camera setup. This array comprises a 48MP Samsung primary sensor, a macro shooter, a depth sensor, and an LED flash. The rear panel also sports a fingerprint sensor.

Other features of this device include a MicroSD card slot (hybrid), a USB Type-C port, and a 4,900mAh battery. Lastly, it measures 163.6 x 75.5 x 9.7mm in dimensions, weighs 206.4g, and arrives in two color options (Sapphire Blue, Lake Green).

Letv claims that most of the components of this phone are sourced locally in China. The firm even advertises the handset as the first ‘nationally produced’ mobile phone.

The Letv S1 is targeted at drivers of ride-sharing as well as delivery services and senior citizens. The smartphone will most likely not release outside mainland China.

LeTV S1 smartphone announced in China, comes with Huawei Mobile Services

After taking a break from the smartphone market due to its financial struggles, LeTV (formerly LeEco) is back, and today, it has announced its first smartphone, the LeTV S1. What is special about the new phone is that it comes with Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) out of the box!

LeTV says that the decision to use HMS stems from its decision to be open to all ecosystems. So alongside its own services, it is also going with Huawei’s own services. Users who purchase the LeTV S1 will be able to use the phone with products under Huawei’s ecosystem. LeTV is also building a connected platform for its phones, TVs, and other products. Once it is announced, users will also be able to use their LeTV phones to interact with other LeTV products on the platform.

The LeTV S1 not only has HMS Core powering it but its hardware is also provided by Chinese suppliers. For instance, the processor is the Tiger T7510 processor which is from the Chinese semiconductor company, Unisoc. LeTV also said the display and memory are from Chinese companies.

The full specification sheet of the phone wasn’t revealed by the manufacturer but it has been reported that it has an HD+ display with a waterdrop notch for the front-facing camera and there is a 4900mAh battery under the hood. The poster also shows that there are three cameras on the back of the phone along with a fingerprint scanner.

LeTV says the new 5G smartphone is targeted at drivers who work for ride-sharing platforms and delivery services as well as older citizens. It also revealed that its high-end smartphone which it briefly revealed at its conference in May is still in development and will be announced next year.

The LeTV S1 will be available for purchase next month via the LeMall online store. Its full specifications and price should be revealed by then.

LeTV smartphone live images shared by the company, hinting at imminent launch

Earlier this year, in the month of May, announced the return of LeTV Smart Ecology for its products, including Smart TVs and smartphones in the market. While the company hasn’t launched a new device, it has now shared live images of a smartphone.

The company has shared live images of an unnamed smartphone on its official Weibo account, without revealing any details related to the device.

The image shows that the smartphone features a waterdrop notch on top of the screen for housing the front-facing camera sensor. The chin below the display panel is a bit thicker, indicating that the phone’s design isn’t new and it may have been designed sometime back.

On the backside, the phone carries LeTV branding towards the bottom and at the top-center position, there’s a circular camera module, another hint regarding the phone’s design being made a couple of years back.

A smartphone from the company, named LeTV L5 has been spotted on TENAA, indicating that the device could soon be officially launched in China. The listing reveals that it features a 6.528-inch HD+ display offering a screen resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels.

It’s likely to come in two memory variants — 6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB of internal storage. The triple-camera setup on the back consists of a 48-megapixel primary sensor and two 2-megapixel sensors. On the front side, it features an 8-megapixel snapper for taking selfies and video calling.

The listing hints that the smartphone is running the Android 9 operating system out-of-the-box and is powered by a 4,900mAh battery. More details about the phone’s specifications remain a mystery. As of now, the company has not yet announced a launch date but given that it has passed TENAA certification, the smartphone could get launched soon in China.

LeEco launches LE-DY30 30000mAh power bank for home appliances

Earlier this week, LeEco launched the LE-DY30 power bank. This power bank houses a large 30,000mAh battery pack that is rated to power home appliances through its 220V AC output.

On 18th May 2021, the Chinese consumer electronics maker announced more than 60 new products. This includes, the LeTV Super TV M65, LeTV Super TV GS series, LeTV Gaming Monitor 2Q, and other smart wearable products like smartwatches and even power banks and smart door locks. While the new TVs were the highlighting products of the launch conference, the company also launched two new power bank models, namely the LE-DY20 and LE-DY30.

The LE-DY20 power bank features a 20,000 battery capacity and serves a function similar to a charge a smartphone like a regular power bank. On the other hand, the LE-DY30 sports a total capacity of 30,000mAh battery pack. While this means that the power bank cannot be carried on the plane, this product was targeted towards users home and offers three DC outputs ports. It also sports a USB Type C port that supports bidirectional 65W PD fast charging.

This power bank features a aluminum alloy shell and even sports an LCD screen that can display the remaining charge along with other useful statuses. LeEco has launched the product in China and is priced at 638 Yuan (roughly 100 US Dollars).

LeEco is coming back; announces LeTV Smart Ecological Conference on May 18

LeEco, the Chinese company which was once aiming to take on the likes of tech giants in the western part of the world, crumbled after facing a number of setbacks as the company was growing too fast without a solid financial foundation.

Now, it seems that LeEco is making a comeback. The company has shared a new product launch invitation for the LeTV Smart Ecological Conference held on 18th May. Based on the invitation, the company seems to be gearing up to launch new Smart TVs in the market.

The company’s invitation reads “I’m back!” in large and bold characters, exerting confidence about its comeback in the market. It also shows a human profile filled with text of various productions but the highlighted one reads “LeTV Super TV.” It could also hint at the comeback of the brand’s founder Yueting Jia to take charge.

LeEco’s core product offering has been TV and the company was earlier called LeTV. It remains to be seen what the upcoming lineup from the company offers to retake its position in the market. Along with the TV, the invitation also hints at LeTV Super Phone, LeTV TV, Anti-Wear Headset, Portable Watch, and Game Controller, among others.

The company has also mentioned products in other categories as well, including Bluetooth Speakers, Smartwatches, Door Locks, Routers, Bicycles, etc. While it doesn’t make sense to launch all these products at once, the company could launch several devices at the upcoming event given that it’s an event for “smart ecological” products.

Last year, in October, the company had launched LeTV Zero65 Pro Ultra-Slim Mural TV for the price of 6,999 yuan, about $1,037 that offers a massive 97 percent screen-to-body ratio and measuring just 13.5mm in thickness. LeEco is no longer a popular company in international markets. But the firm is not dead yet despite financial troubles. It continues to sell a wide variety of products in its home country China. Hence, we are not surprised to learn it launching a new pair of TWS called Letv Super Earphone Ears Pro (translated).

The newly announced Letv Super Earphone Ears Pro are just another pair of truly wireless earphones in the already crowded market but with some uncommon specs in its segment. They feature an in-ear design with silicone tips and come in two colors namely White and Black. In other words, they look like a fusion of Apple AirPods Pro and HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro.

The earbuds are powered by L1+ chip and connect with devices via Bluetooth 5.0. Unlike most budget TWS, these also come with ANC (Active Noise Cancellation). Another notable feature is that their charging case also supports Qi wireless charging, in addition to USB Type-C charging.

Further, the buds support HSP, HFP, A2DP, AAC, and SBC audio codecs. Also, since they feature touch gesture controls, users can single tap to play/pause, double-tap to play the next track, and tiple-tap to play the previous track.

As for battery life, the company claims this product to offer up to 4 hours using the buds’ 45mAh battery and extra 24 hours from the charging case. Hence, it comes with up to 28-hour battery life.

Over 1350 trademarks held by LeTV is being auctioned off in China

LeEco, the Chinese company which dared to take on the likes of Netflix and Tesla and called Apple as “outdated” at the same time, was making quite a progress. But suddenly, the world of LeEco, earlier known as LeTV, crumbled as the company faced a number of setbacks. It was growing too fast without a solid financial foundation.

The company is now facing a number of lawsuits in its home country from various vendors, although the same has been going on for years now. In the latest development, Jingdong Judicial Auction listed 1,354 patents held by LeTV Information Technology (Beijing) Co. for judicial auction.

The listing had a starting price of 136,000 yuan (approximately $19,240) and the current bid for the trademarks has reached 113 million yuan. It began the bidding process on 29th June at 10:00 AM local time and the process was closed today, i.e. on 30th June at 10:00 AM local time.

The process seems to have attracted more than 90,000 people but only 105 signed up for the bidding. This first auction of the company’s assets and IP includes trademarks like “LeTV TV” and “LeTV Super TV” among others.

The auction process for the trademarks was based on the increased-price method where a reserved price is set and then each bid increases the price by at least 500 yuan (~$71). The competition among the bidders is fierce given that most bids were only a minute apart and the bid has been increased by 800 times compared to the reserved price.

Earlier this month, the auction of around 22.1 million shares of LeEco held by Jia Yueting, the company’s founder, took place on 13th June and 14th June. Despite over 14,000 people interested, none of them participated in the bidding process.

The auction price of the share was decided based on the average closing price of 20 trading days before the trading was suspended. With the price of 2.51 yuan (~$0.36) per share, the total comes down to 55.47 million yuan.

It’s noteworthy that the auction price almost doubles the price of the share from the 1.69 yuan per share cost on the last trading day before LeTV’s suspension. The company entered the delisting consolidation period on 5th June and thus, the LETV stock trading was suspended in China. By the end of 12th June, the company’s share price fell below 0.9 yuan (~$0.13) per share, bringing down the market value to 3.59 billion yuan.

News of Faraday Future’s operational HQ opening in China triggers a surge in ailing LeTV’s share price

As at the morning of Wednesday, August 15, LeTV‘s (LeEco) stock price was on the downward spiral and the company was on the verge of being delisted from China’s stock market. But in a dramatic twist, investors adopted a bullish outlook as the share price went up to 2.39 yuan while the daily limit rose to 14.90%. Although the rice later reduced but still traded at around 2.3 yuan and closed at 2.17 yuan.

The reason for this surge in LeEco’s shares may be connected to the press release on Tuesday by Evergrande Health Industry Group Ltd, that U.S-based Faraday Future (FF) has set up its operational headquarters in China. Evergrande owns a 45% stake in U.S.-based Faraday Future (FF) and it plans to build five R&D and production bases across the country in the next decade. The company also hinted that mass production of the FF91 will begin in 2019 in the U.S plant. This is no doubt, a good news since Faraday Future is owned by Chinese entrepreneur Jia Yueting, whose erstwhile conglomerate LeEco is in a messy financial situation occasioned by rapid expansion in a bid to overtake Tesla.

However, LeTV has issued a statement saying that the surge in its share price was noticed but the company can’t pinpoint the reason for it. We know better. Although Jia Yueting has no stake in LeTV anymore, the success of the FF electric car will also lead to Jia Yueting fulfilling his financial obligations to companies he is indebted to, one of which is LeTV. Perhaps, this is a glimmer of hope for ailing LeEco.

Sign of a Major Layoff as Image of LeEco Employees Queuing Up Surfaces Online

LeEco is not in a pretty shape right now. The news is that the company is in massive debts following a company-wide memo where the CEO, Jia Yueting, mentioned the company’s growth expansion problem and also complained about individual work performances and redundancies.

If you have ever had to work for an organization which is facing financial difficulties or trying to restructure itself, once you hear them mention that certain positions are redundant, expect a layoff in the nearest future. They might deny it when you ask them or dismiss it as you being paranoid, but it is their way of quelling a possible panic-infused environment.

It appears a layoff is coming or has already even occurred at LeEco as an image of employees queuing up at the Human Resources center has been posted online. The rumor is that about 1400 employees have been asked to leave as a result of organizational restructuring.

The layoff will not only affect the company’s mobile sector but also its media arm. Sources say that the sports editor for LeEco Ao Ming has handed in his resignation.

News of the layoffs has affected the company’s stock, dropping by a record 9.9% to 35.01 yuan per share and picking up later to close at 35.80 Yuan per share. This morning, LeEco’s stock was suspended temporarily and the reason given by the CEO is that the suspension is due to to the company undergoing a new round of financing.

While LeEco isn’t be the first company to lay off its staff due to wrong decisions made by the higher-ups, it certainly won’t be the last. We want to believe the restructuring is one of the reasons why we have not heard anything new about their Helio X27 sporting dual-camera phone.

LeEco In Trouble? CEO’s Alleged Internal Letter Says Company Facing Cash Crunch

We all know ‘LeEco’ which is aggressively expanding into so many ventures, offering amazing products at affordable pricing. But it’s not easy expanding ever so quickly especially when you are operating not just in your domestic market, but entering large markets such as the US. Now, it has come to light that all things are not going so well for the company.

According to an internal letter sent by LeEco CEO Jia Yueting, obtained by Bloomberg, the company is reportedly facing cash crunch. The CEO reportedly sent the letter on Sunday explaining about the company’s difficulty is sustaining the fast growth powered by its recent ventures.

While the parent company Leshi Internet Information & Technology Corp. is listed on the stock exchange, other ventures such as its auto department as well as smartphone department are unlisted.

Cash crunch is never a good sign for a venture and it wasn’t surprising to see LeEco’s shares tumble today at the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. But Jia says that the management will work on corrective measures such as slowing down the existing aggressive expansion. He even said that he will reduce his yearly income to just 1 Yuan (15 cents). Other possible measures to be taken by the company mentioned in the letter include focusing on existing business, decreasing subsidies to customers, and implementing other cost-cutting programs.

This letter was widely shared on Weibo today and soon it educed a response from Xiaomi’s CEO (or so it seemed at that time), as a screenshot of a Wechat message with Lei Jun commenting about the debts of LeEco emerged online. This further led to a response from LeEco criticing Xiaomi and Lei Jun for spreading rumors. For this, Xiaomi’s official spokesperson replied asking LeEco to focus on its debts rather than distracting public from it.

Now, some think that this screenshot is fake and is not from Lei Jun, but the Xiaomi CEO is yet to comment on this matter. Neverthless, this internal letter revealed today from LeEco’s CEO will surely damage the reputation of the company and it’s venture to some extent.

LeEco To Sell Phones In The US Market Soon, Reveals Internal Memo

Chinese smartphone maker LeEco, formerly known as LeTV will start selling phones, televisions and other gadgets in the US market sometime soon, an internal memo from Jia Yueting LeEco’s CEO indicates.

This is coming on the heels of news that the Beijing-based online video company, who runs a business model which is similar to American company NetFlix’s, has completed the acquisition of a 50-acre development site in the Silicon Valley from internet giant Yahoo. It hopes to build its North America headquarters on the property to accommodate thousands of staffs.

According to the internal memo, billionaire-owner Jia Yueting informed staffs that LeEco is preparing for an official launch of its product in the US market within the next three months. The company, which made its start in online video streaming, is looking to sell their own music content, smartphones, Smart TVs and video streaming services in the United States.

LeEco is virtually unknown in the U.S, even though it’s been a significant player in China for some time. Originally launched in 2004 as an online video service, it quickly became one of the largest video platforms in the country, where it now streams a catalog of some 5,000 movies and 100,000 TV show episodes.

The company also started selling Smart TVs and streaming boxes, and last year, LeEco which still carry the LeTV brand in its products, also began selling smartphones in China.

The company is poised to take on giants Apple and Tesla in the video streaming market with entertainment content made by its movie-production unit Le Vision Pictures and local partners.

Already, LeEco has a film under production titled The Great Wall, a story centered on the construction of the Great Wall of China and strategically, the film stars Hollywood A-list actor Matt Damon.

Another crucial part of LeEco’s foray into the US market is Faraday Future, an electric-car start up that it entered into partnership with. LeEco funds the start-up and the company plans to set up a research lab in the Silicon Valley headquarters where it hopes to explore technologies in artificial intelligence, autonomous driving and virtual reality, according to the memo.

Le Max 2 is a pretty powerful flagship, coming with Snapdragon 820 inside with a maximum memory configuration of 6GB RAM and 64GB of storage. However, there are flagships in the market today like the ZUK Z2 Pro, Axon 7 and even the recently released Nubia Z11 that feature 6GB + 128GB ROM configuration. Well, it looks like LeEco didn’t want to lag behind these manufacturers as the company has officially unveiled the top-end version of the Le Max 2 model that features 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage. This puts the device right on top of the market, as you won’t find any other smartphone with such powerful specs.

While the rest of the specs of the Le Max 2 remains the same as the previously released variants, the company also announced a new color for the device today — Force Gold. It is said that the company consulted with color psychology experts and tech experts to come up with this special Force Gold color. Along with the Le Max 2, the Le 2 and the Le 2 Pro models are going to get this new color option.

So, now, there are three variants of the Le Max 2: 4GB + 32GB (2099 Yuan ~ $315), 6GB + 64GB (2499 Yuan ~ $375) and 6GB + 128GB (2799 Yuan ~ $421)

LeEco Flagship Spotted With Dual Cameras In A New Leak

We have been hearing rumors about a dual camera smartphone from LeEco. While the company is yet to acknowledge the existence of such a device, recently a new smartphone with LeEco’s logo at the back was spotted. Well, what we saw in the picture was just a rear shell, but it did reveal a lot of things about the device.

From the image, it looks like LeEco is working on a dual camera flagship model. We can clearly see the new LeEco logo at the back, which gave away its identity. Further, the dual camera placement is actually quite interesting, since the company seems to have placed the cameras and the flash to slightly resemble a human face. Further, just below this setup is an opening which should be for the fingerprint sensor. LeEco likes fingerprint sensors at the back of the phone, hence, this design is in line with the company’s design philosophy. From the image, the back shell seems to be made out of metal.

Another highlight of the new LeEco smartphone is the position of the antenna lines. As you can see in the image, the white antenna lines are placed on the top and the bottom. Now isn’t this a bit too familiar? Yes, it is! This is the same antenna design used by Meizu Pro 6 and considering the renders we have seen recently, even the iPhone 7 is expected to use this same design.

Specs wise, we have very limited information, however, there have been reports about a powerful flagship from LeEco as soon as tomorrow! The specs are said to be top-notch including Snapdragon 821 chip, 8GB RAM, and dual cameras. While we are not sure whether LeEco will unveil this beast at tomorrow’s MWC Shanghai event, if that doesn’t happen, then the phone should be released sometime later this year.

LeEco’s New LEX720 Smartphone With SD821 Scores Over 154K On AnTuTu

We have been hearing rumors that LeEco is soon going to announce a new flagships smartphone with the new Snapdragon 821 chipset inside. The new chip is supposed to be a slightly upgraded version of this year’s Snapdragon 820 flagship chipset, increasing the clock speed to 2.5GHz. Now, LeEco’s upcoming flagship phone was spotted on the AnTuTu benchmarking app revealing key specs and performance. The model number LEX720 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8996Pro chipset, which should either be called as the Snapdragon 821 or Snapdragon 823.

As for the other specs, the LeEco LEX720 model features 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage on board. The screen size is unknown but the resolution will be 1080p. At the back, the phone comes with a 16MP camera, while up front, you have an 8MP shooter. The LE720 is running Android 6.0.1. These specs are quite impressive and hence, the performance is also pretty good. In fact, it is one of the best we have seen on AnTuTu till date. This particular model managed to score an amazing 154,000 points on the benchmarking app.

Apart from the powerful Snapdragon 821 / 823 chipset inside, rest of the specs, as you can see, are normal flagship stuff. In fact, the Le Max 2 flagship comes with a better rear camera (21MP) and larger RAM 6GB module. But there could be a higher-end model of the LEX720 which could turn out to be the true flagship smartphone of the company. Previous rumors have said that the phone could have a version with 8GB of RAM. So, with SD821 and 8GB RAM inside, the upcoming LeEco phone could turn out be the most powerful handset of 2016.

The company has a new conference on June 29. So let’s wait and watch!

LeEco Said To Release A New Snapdragon 823 Flagship at MWC Shanghai this month

LeEco surprised us everyone by announcing the first Snapdragon 820 powered smartphone in the market, namely the Le Max Pro. Although the phone wasn’t sold to the regular consumers in plenty, the company does hold the title of the first manufacturer with SD820 phone. Now, it looks like this Chinese company is going to boast of another great title this year.

According to Chinese media, LeEco is said to be working on a brand new Snapdragon 823 powered smartphone and it is expected to be announced at Mobile World Congress at Shanghai that starts at the end of this month, from June 29 and goes on till July 1. If true, LeEco will probably become the first smartphone maker to release a Snapdragon 823 powered phone!

According to rumors, Snapdragon 823 will come with slightly upgraded specs as compared to the already powerful SD820. The company is said to have increased the clock speed, with other upgrades such as Adreno 530 GPU, X12 LTE baseband and Cat.12 / 13 support. Other possible specs include support for 8GB DDR4 memory and 25MP camera sensor. The Galaxy Note 6 is long rumored to be using this new chip and so is the ASUS ZenFone Deluxe model for some Asian markets.

The Snapdragon 820 is already a powerful chipset and there’s hardly any other chips in the market that can match the performance of this beast. So, it would be interesting to see what the Snapdragon 823 brings to the table. We expect a slight boost in performance (because there’s actually no need for a significant increase right now) along with GPU and some connectivity upgrades as mentioned above.

Considering Snapdragon 820 smartphones started entering the market by February 2016, it would be really surprising if Snapdragon 823 phones make it to the market so early. Qualcomm usually follows yearly release period for its chips, but looks like that’s changing this year.

Anyway, it’s still too early to comment as we don’t have official details, but expect more details soon.

The phone sports a 5.7” 2k resolution display, which is very sharp, vibrant and it has a decent sunlight legibility.

Because of a large display, the phone is quite huge and it is very hard to manage it in one hand.

We have an all-metal unibody design and the edges of the backplate are slightly curved and thus it is easier to hold it.

We have an 8MP front firing shooter and non-customizable LED notification light.

The capacitive buttons are nicely backlit but the backlight is not visible outdoors.

As far as optics, we have a beefy and slightly protruding 21MP shooter with OIS, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and dual-LED flash.

The fingerprint scanner is very fast and accurate, and it works straight from the standby mode. Keep in mind that you have to update your software to the latest version as the early software build had some fingerprint scanner issues but right now the issue has been solved.

One of the most interesting aspects of this phone is that it does not have a headset jack. Instead, LeEco assures that this phone is capable of providing even better audio experience via the USB C port as it uses a new CDLA music standard. I have to tell you that the sound quality via the earphones is very good and the volume output is loud.

The IR blaster is here to control devices like TVs. The sound quality from the loudspeaker is significantly better than on Le 2. Sure, the quality is not ideal but the sound is crisp and it has a decent amount of depth. Also, the loudspeaker can get really loud. However, I don’t like the placement of it as you can easily cover it (bottom left).

The dual-SIM card tray can take 2 nano SIM cards and both slots support 4G networks. Unfortunately, there is no microSD card slot.

The buttons are made of metal too but, unfortunately, the volume rocker rattles quite a bit.

Overall, the phone looks and feels great. It is very well built, it has all-metal design and the only shortcoming is a rattling volume rocker.

LeEco Le Max 2 Review: HARDWARE and PERFORMANCE

When it comes to hardware, LeEco Le Max 2 is just a beast. In fact, our review unit is a lower-end model, which sports Snapdragon 820 chip, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of non-expandable storage. If you even better specs, you can opt in for a 64GB model, which has whopping 6GB of RAM.

When it comes to gaming, you can be rest assured that every game will just fly. Also, the graphics looked great on each game I tested and the phone did not heat up to uncomfortable levels. See a video review for gameplay/graphics performance.

LeEco Le Max 2 Review: UI

When it comes to the user interface, we have the eUI 5.6, which is built on top of Android 6.0.

In fact, Letvmart.com shipped our review unit with fully debloated ROM with Google services and multi-languages pre-installed. I’ve tested this ROM for quite a while and it works great. If you don’t like it, you can always flash the original Chinese ROM.

What I love about the eUI is that you can quickly access settings toggles, adjust brightness, open or close your recent apps and so on, and you can do that all in one place by simply clicking a left capacitive button. As usual, we have some customization options, quite a few settings and tweaks to play with.

Most importantly, the UI is running fast, fluid and I didn’t have a single hiccup no matter how many apps were open in the background.

When it comes the camera, the stock app can take pictures very fast. We have some shooting modes, settings and some manual controls to play with.

The daylight image quality is very good. There is a good amount of detail, colors look natural and the images look sharp. The only issue that I found is the dynamic range adjustment but the HDR mode, which has to be turned on manually, solves this issue pretty well.

The indoor and macro shots are great too. It may take a bit more time to focus but the images come out pretty sharp.

The low-light image quality is good when the objects are well-lit but the quality decreases dramatically when they are not. There could simply be more details and less noise in those shots.

I took images side by side with the Galaxy S7 edge and the difference is quite significant. On the other hand, the price difference of these phones is quite significant too. Also, I took a few shots side by side with the Letv Le 1 Pro and I can assure you that there is a significant low-light image quality upgrade.

The 4k and 1080p video quality is pretty good too except for the fact that it looks a bit shaky and there could be a little bit less noise in some of the videos. See a video review for a video sample.

An 8MP camera can take some great looking selfies but the selfie video is only 720p. Still, the footage looks quite sharp as the camera emphasized all the freckles I have on my face. Also, the sound recording quality is pretty good.

LeEco Le Max 2 Review: CONNECTIVITY

As for connectivity, I didn’t have any issues. The call quality is good, the GPS is very accurate, Wifi signal is good and Bluetooth works fine.

LeEco Le Max 2 Review: BATTERY LIFE

A non-removable 3100mAh battery powers up the phone and performance of it is good considering a low capacity and huge 2k resolution screen.

I could get over 4.5 hours of screen-on time on a mixed use, which is a decent result. However, the screen-on time reduced to around 3 hours if I used the phone very intensively (recording 4k videos, gaming, running benchmarks).

On the days when the phone ran out of juice, I could fully charge it up in 1:10 h with the supplied fast charger.

LeEco Le Max 2 Review: CONCLUSIONS

So, there you have it, LeEco Le Max 2. The phone costs less than $400 and it has a lot to offer for the price.

It all starts with a beautiful all-metal design and good build quality, very sharp display, flagship-grade specifications, stellar performance and great cameras.

However, the phone lacks microSD card slot for storage expansion, the volume rocker rattles quite a bit, and the loudspeaker is placed on the bottom left, so you can easily cover. Lastly, the phone lacks a traditional 3.5mm headset jack. It is not an issue for me as I use Bluetooth earphones but some users may not be happy about it.

Overall, LeEco Le Max 2 is a fantastic phone. Yes, it has a few shortcomings but they are far from a deal breaker. In fact, LeEco Le Max 2 is a device that can be highly recommended for those who look for a phablet with bleeding-edge specs, stunning looks, good cameras and great performance for a price to beat.

LeEco unveiled three new smartphones in April, namely Le 2, Le 2 Pro and Le Max 2. All three phones offered best bang for your buck, which meant that everyone is patiently waiting for the phones to be available in the international markets. Now, LeEco (formerly known as LeTV) has started sending out media invites for an event on June 8 and it is safe to assume that it should be for the India launch of the three new smartphones from the company. While the invite doesn’t say anything about the launch of these three models, the timing is ideal for the new phones to be launched in the market.

LeEco phones are extremely popular in China as well as India, selling out within minutes. In the first sale of the three phones, over a million units were sold out within a matter of two hours in China. That’s pretty impressive! Now, it looks like the company is all set to unveil these three power phones in India and expect a pretty good response for them in the country.

To recap, all these three phones ditch the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack and instead uses a CDLA standard that works with the phone’s USB Type-C slot. Why this change you ask? Well, LeEco believes USB Type-C powered headphones are the future, and it wants to be the first one to make the jump. And guess what, iPhone 7 is rumored to ditch the standard slot as well!

Specs wise, the Le Max 2 stands on top of the lineup, featuring the mighty Snapdragon 820 quad-core chip with 4GB / 6GB RAM options and 32GB / 64GB storage variants. After its entry into the smartphone market last year, LeEco has left no stone unturned to market and promote its smartphones. In fact, the company has quickly built a huge fan following in China and this year in India as well. Its products offer tremendous value for money, which is why we have seen a lot of LeEco phones being sold internationally. While there are a few websites like OPPOStyle who ship OPPO smartphones worldwide, now, a new e-tailer has come up online, called Letvmart to sell LeEco smartphones internationally. Given that LeEco operates officially only in China and India, such retailers come in handy if you want your phone to be shipped worldwide, especially in Europe.

LeEco Le 2 Could Have a Snapdragon 652 Powered Variant As Well

A few weeks back, LeEco (formerly known as LeTV) announced three new smartphones in its second generation Le family namely the Le 2, Le 2 Pro and the Le Max 2. Like most Chinese manufacturers, the company has used MediaTek chipsets to keep the price as low as possible on the first two models. The Le 2 comes with the Helio X20 chip while the slightly costlier model, the Le 2 Pro comes with a more powerful Helio X25 chipset. However, it looks like LeEco might have a Snapdragon powered variant as well for its fans, at least for the Le 2 budget model. The phone is said to come with an option of Snapdragon 652 inside. However, we are yet to receive an official confirmation from the company about such a version.

It was recently reported that the Le 2 model with Snapdragon 652 inside was listed and will soon go on sale. The phone was spotted with 32GB ROM inside and came in three colours, gold, silver and grey. Interestingly, the pricing was kept the same as the Helio X20 powered model, i.e. 1099 Yuan which comes to around $168.

This could easily make the Le 2, the cheapest Snapdragon 652 smartphone in the market. This is possible since this Chinese giant tends to resort to negative profit pricing for its phones. If you remember, the recently released Xiaomi Max phablet had a SD652 version, but that costs around $260. This would be way cheaper than that.

So, if LeEco did release a SD652 powered Le 2 model, would you choose that version or the one with Helio X20 inside?

LeEco Le 2 Review: DESIGN and DISPLAY

The first impressions once we took the phone out of the box – it is just gorgeous. The phone has an excellent all-metal build quality, nice and tactile buttons and rose gold color looks awesome.

One of the most interesting aspects of this phone is that it does not have a headset jack. Instead, LeEco assures that this phone is capable of providing even a better audio experience via the USB C port. I have to tell you that the sound quality via the earphones is very good and the volume output is loud.

We have a 5.5″ 1080p display, which is nice, sharp and visible outdoors, nicely backlit capacitive buttons, notification LED and 8MP camera on the front. Design-wise, Le 2 is very similar to the Le 1s, which is also a great looking phone.

The metal material of the phone is very nice to the touch. We have a 16MP camera, dual tone dual-LED flash for picture taking. The fingerprint scanner works straight from the standby mode, it is fast and accurate.

The IR blaster is here to control devices like TVs. The sound quality from the loudspeaker is pretty good and it can get pretty loud. However, the sound could have slightly more depth.

LeEco Le 2 Review: HARDWARE and PERFORMANCE

LeEco Le 2 sports some great internal hardware components. It uses a Mediatek Helio X20 clocked at 2.3GHz, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, which is not expandable.

The gaming performance is good but not perfect. If you play high-demanding games like Asphalt 8 on medium graphics, there will be no skipped frames or lag and the gaming experience is very good.

However, once you set graphics to maximum, you should expect some occasional stutter from time to time. Still, the phone is a pretty good performer considering it’s price and the phone will get only better with future software updates.

Also, the phone gets a little warm pretty quickly but it does not overheat to uncomfortable levels, so you do not need to worry about that.

LeEco Le 2 Review: USER INTERFACE

When it comes to the user interface, we have the eUI 5.6, which is built on top of Android 6.0. If you are familiar with the eUI, it hasn’t really changed much. All apps sit on the home screens and we have LeTV services’ quick access button at the center. However, all the content is in Chinese on our Chinese review unit.

As usual, we have some customization options, quite a few settings and tweaks to play with.

A few software bugs include duplicated icons for some apps and camera crashing issue once you go into settings menu (only in picture taking mode). I’m pretty sure these issues will be fixed very soon with the upcoming software update.

Another issues include quite a few missed Chinese-English translations. LeEco simply did not really bother translating some menu sections.

Most importantly, the UI is running fast, fluid and I didn’t have a single hiccup no matter how many apps were open in the background.

The 16MP camera can take some great daylight images, which have plenty of detail, natural looking colors and sharpness.

The quality decreases with a lower amount of lighting but the pictures still look pretty good.

The low-light camera performance is mediocre as on all phones in this price range. You may get some okay looking images but they will still have a lot of noise and low amount of detail.

The phone can shoot videos at 4k resolution. However, I could not play 4k videos on my Macbook. This is exactly the same issue I had on the Le 1 (tried 5 different players, downloaded various codec packs etc.) but I will leave download links to the original files below the video.

As for 1080p video, it is not bad but the main issues are that it is a bit shaky and there is no continuous auto-focus feature.

An 8MP selfie shooter is pretty good for some self-portraits.

LeEco Le 2 Review: CONNECTIVITY

You can be rest assured that there will no connectivity issues (including GPS) on this device. The only shortcoming is that the 5GHz wifi range could be better (compared it with the Samsung Galaxy s7 edge).

LeEco Le 2 Review: BATTERY LIFE

LeEco decided to stick with the 3000mAh battery and I was able to fully charge it in 1h 20 mins with a supplied charger.

As for day-to-day use, I could get around 4.5 hours of screen on time on a light use and around 4 hours on a heavy use of the phone. Not the best result but pretty good for the size of the battery.

LeEco Le 2 Review: CONCLUSIONS

So, here it is, the LeEco Le 2. The phone looks and feels premium due to its all-metal build and it feels great in the hand.

Also, we have a nice, sharp and bright display, very fast user interface with quite a few customization options, good cameras, accurate fingerprint sensor and fast charging feature out of the box.

For some users, the lack of the headset jack is a shortcoming but if you usually use a pair of Bluetooth earphones like me, you don’t really care about it.

Although we like the UI, it has quite a lot of missed translations, which is inexcusable for the company, which aims to become a big player in the international market.

Also, the lack of the microSD card slot may not be a deal breaker but a lot of users really appreciate this cheap storage expansion option.

Other than that, LeEco is a great and high-quality phone. You can get it for around $200 via the third-party resellers and it is definitely one of the better options for the price at the moment.

Le 2, Le 2 Pro & Le Max 2 Announced, All three Ditch The 3.5mm Audio Jack

It’s been exactly one year since the Chinese media giant LeEco (formerly known as LeTV) entered the smartphone market. But during this time, the company has managed to get the attention of millions of fans, both in China and worldwide, thanks to its revolutionary smartphones. Last year, the company entered the industry with three great devices in the Le 1 series. Now, it’s time for a new generation of products, namely the Le 2 series. And guess what, once again, LeEco has surprised us all by announcing three powerful smartphones in the new Le lineup, namely the Le 2, Le 2 Pro and the flagship Le Max 2. Want to know more about these products? Read on!

First of all, looks wise, these three phones look identical. They come with a metal body and a fingerprint sensor at the back. So, no real surprises here. However, the company is using its borderless ID 3.0 design which makes these three phones look like they feature a bezel-less display.

Another important selling point for these three models is the absence of a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. Apparently, LeEco believes this is the direction to go, with USB Type-C and their own CDLA (continuous digital lossless audio) standard reportedly delivering better audio output than a traditional headphone jack.

Rest of the specs are a bit different on each of the device, so here are all the details.

Le 2

Le 2 will be the least powerful smartphone in the series and will be the direct successor to the Le 1S model that was announced in the second half of last year. The phone comes with much better hardware and looks than the previous generation making it a true successor.

The phone comes with the Helio X20 chipset under the hood, that powers some mid-range flagships in the market. This is actually a pretty good upgrade from last year’s Le 1S which featured Helio X10. There will be 3GB of RAM on board and 32GB of internal storage. This will be eMMC 5.1 storage standard. With these specs on board, LeEco claims that the phone manages to score a good 97,336 point on AnTuTu, which is pretty impressive.

As for the display, the phone comes with a 5.5 in-cell display 1080p display. The brightness of the screen can reportedly go up to 500 nits and come down to as low as 1 nit. As for the camera, you get a 16MP sensor at the back, with PDAF and f/2.0 aperture. The setup can reportedly focus in just 0.09 seconds. This is good upgrade from the 13MP sensor on the Le 1S. The front camera is also better, now featuring an 8MP sensor. Other features of the phone include a 3000mAh battery with fast charge, EUI with Android 6.0, VOLTE and 4G LTE support.

Le 2 Pro

Le 2 Pro is a slightly upgraded version of the Le 2, featuring the new Helio X25 chipset clocked at 2.5GHz. Yes, it’s really surprising to see this inside the new LeEco device since Meizu had said that it would be exclusive to the Pro 6 for a few months. The phone features 4GB of RAM and 32GB of eMMC 5.1 storage that helps it reach 103,322 on the AnTuTu benchmark. At the back, you get a powerful 21MP Sony IMX230 sensor while up front, there’s the same 8MP shooter. The display remains the same, a 5.5-inch panel with 1080p resolution. Other features include USB TYpe-C, VoLTE and 3000mAh battery.

Le Max 2

Moving to the pick of the announcements today, the Le Max 2 is a real powerhouse featuring the Snapdragon 820 chipset clocked at 2.15GHz. What’s more, you get a massive 6GB RAM module inside with 64GB of UFS 2.0 storage. That’s some pretty powerful stuff. The display is larger, measuring 5.7-inches with 2K resolution. This makes it quite ready for VR headsets. With these specs on board, it’s not surprising that the phone managed to score 143,408 on AnTuTu. At the back, the phone comes with a 21MP camera with OIS, 6P lens and f/2.0 aperture. Up front, you get the same 8MP shooter. The Le Max 2 also features the new Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor from Qualcomm. Other features include dual band Wi-F0, VoLTE, full network support (works in over 200 countries) and 3100mAh battery with QC 3.0.

Le X820 With 6GB of RAM & Snapdragon 820 Spotted On GFXBench

LeECo is all set to announce its latest device in its popular Le family called as the Le 2. This will be the second generation model in the lineup, with the first batch of phones being announced almost a year before. We have a lot of expectations with the upcoming Le 2, and it looks like there will be multiple versions of the phone.

According to a recent benchmark listing of the Le X820 model, the phone will come with the powerful Snapdragon 820 chipset under the hood with a massive 6GB of RAM inside. In case you remember, only the Vivo XPlay 5 Premium Edition can boast of such specs, and this particular model could soon join the ranks of flagships with ultra powerful hardware. We aren’t sure whether this would end up being called as the Le 2, instead something like the Le Max 2 or the Le 2 Pro would be much more ideal.

What’s more, the Le X820 comes with a 5.5-inch 2K display on board to make sure you have the top features in almost all departments. At the back, the phone will have a 21MP sensor which can record 4K videos while up front, there will be a standard 8MP shooter. Other features include 64GB of internal storage and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS.

We know tomorrow we will see the Le 2 smartphone, thanks to the numerous teasers and leaks about the device. So, what about this particular device?

Well, it’s unlikely that the company would announce both the Le 2 and the this particular device in the same conference. If that was the case, we should have seen hints about this power house. So, we probably have to wait for a few weeks more to see this flagship finally being announced.

New Teaser Hints Le 2 Has Abandoned The 3.5mm Headphone Jack

Le 2 will meet us on April 20, which is just a couple of days away. We know that the phone will be good, thanks to the numerous leaks that have been making rounds on the internet for the past few year. But will it be revolutionary? After seeing the new teaser from the Jia Yueting, we probably think so.

The new teaser from the CEO himself reveals a phone broken into pieces and we can clearly see the headphone connector reaching out towards the device. The 3.5mm jack seems to be broken and besides it, we can see a USB Type-C port, which could be a good indication that the Le 2 will abandon the traditional headphone jack in favor of a USB Type-C based headphones.

Also, the words on top of the image say, “USB Type-C Era, How To Open Up A New Generation Of Audio Revolution?”. Apart from the image, CEO also said that it is time to get rid of something. So, everything seems to reveal that the upcoming LeEco flagship might be the first one to abandon the 3.5mm headphone jack. Well, if Apple iPhone 7 was going to get rid of this slot, LeEco made sure that it won’t be the first.

Yesterday, the real Le 2 was allegedly leaked, which also showed that the traditional slot was missing.

As for other specs, the Le 2 is expected to come with a borderless design (Borderless technology 3.0) with a 5.5-inch 1080p display. Under the hood, there will be the Helio X20 chipset clocked at 2.3GHz and 3GB of RAM. The phone will feature a 16MP camera at the back and an 8MP front facing shooter. It is said that the base variant starts at 32GB storage.

Le 2 Spotted In An Event, Launch Likely On April 20

LeEco executives have already confirmed that the Le 2 flagship smartphone will release soon. Now, an unknown smartphone was spotted at an event for the LeEco Sports division, which could be the new Le 2 smartphone. The event was for the B Round funding of the Sports division of the company, wherein an executive was seen with the new device in hand.

It looks quite similar to the Le Max Pro handset, but Chinese media are of the opinion that this is a new device, most likely the Le 2. These pictures were directly released by the company’s official account earlier today.

While we are still doubtful about the identity of the phone in hand, what we do know is that the company is planning to release a new phone on April 20. LeEco has just released a new teaser via its Le smartphone official channel, where it starts a countdown for 8 days to the event.

Given that we have been hearing a lot about the Le 2 smartphone for the past few weeks, its very likely that the phone will meet us at the event on April 20. The specs as well as the design of the phone have already been leaked a couple of times, so we know what to expect.

Recent TENAA listing of the Le 2 revealed that the phone will come with Helio X20 chip inside with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. There will be a 5.5-inch 1080p display on board. At the back, the phone will feature a 16MP shooter with dual tone flash and a fingerprint sensor. The phone comes with Android 6.0 with EUI and a 3000mAh battery.

This should be just one of the two versions of the Le 2. Another version is rumored to come with either Snapdragon 820 or Snapdragon 652 chip inside. Expect more details in the coming days.

Le 2 With Helio X20 Certified By TENAA, Looks Similar To The Max Pro

LeEco executives have confirmed that the Le 2 flagship is coming very soon. While we are not entirely sure that the launch will be within this month, one of the versions of the Le 2 smartphone has just passed through the network certification website TENAA. Now that the phone has been network certified, we can be sure that the launch is around the corner.

Like always, thanks to the listing, we have a bunch of the specs of the Le 2 as well as the design. Well, to be honest, we are a bit surprised to see that the new model looks a lot like the SD820 powered Le Max 2 flagship that was launched three months back. The phone continues with the all metal design, again a surprise, given that earlier rumors stated that the company would opt for a different material. But this could be the lower-end model and the top-end variant may feature a different material (like the Xiaomi Mi 5 Pro which comes with a ceramic body).

Moving on, the phone features a fingerprint sensor at the back as well as a camera sensor with dual tone flash. What’s interesting is that it carries the LeTV branding and not the new LeEco logo. But we can expect the new logo to end up in the final units.

As for the specs, the Le 2 smartphone will come with a deca-core Helio X20 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. At the back, the phone will feature a 16MP rear camera while up front, you will find an 8MP shooter. There will be a 5.5-inch 1080p display on board as well as an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. Finally, the phone runs on Android 6.0 with EUI on top and features a 3000mAh battery inside its 7.7mm thin body.

So that’s all we know about the Le 2. There should be another version with SD820 or Snapdragon 652 chip on board, but we will have to wait and see if those rumors turn out to be true.
