However, there are other Android devices that can be relaunched and will have a good shot at challenging the new iPhone.</p>
<p>For this week&#8217;s poll, we want to know which of these phones we have narrowed down should be relaunched with a newer, and of course, more powerful processor (or largely modern specs while keeping the same design) and an affordable price tag.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-319356 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Poll-of-The-Week-device-relaunch.jpg?x44794" alt="Poll of The Week - device relaunch" width="720" height="417" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Poll-of-The-Week-device-relaunch.jpg 720w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Poll-of-The-Week-device-relaunch-300x174.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Poll-of-The-Week-device-relaunch-696x403.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></p>
<p>It took a while but we were able to narrow the list of devices to just five. So do vote and let us know which of them you would love to see get a relaunch. Also, drop a comment telling us the reason(s) that influenced your choice.</p>

The company has shared the first part of the interview on OnePlus Forums, which reveals some interesting insights into the company and how it develops its smartphones.</p>
<p>In the interview, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau shares details about the company&#8217;s one and only mid-range smartphone &#8212; <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-x/">OnePlus X</a>, which was discontinued sometime after its launch. In the interview, when asked about the product which he expected more of, he named OnePlus X.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-202154 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/oneplus-ceo-pete-lau.jpg?x44794" alt="OnePlus CEO Pete Lau" width="980" height="551" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/oneplus-ceo-pete-lau.jpg 980w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/oneplus-ceo-pete-lau-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/oneplus-ceo-pete-lau-768x432.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px" /></p>
<p>In a response to the interviewer&#8217;s question about a product which he was expecting fans to have a better reaction to, Pete Lau said:</p>
<blockquote><p>The OnePlus X. We aimed to create a best in class flagship-lite product, and although the community loved the design and thought the product was beautiful, most still preferred flagship devices. This reaffirmed our positioning as a flagship only company and culture.</p></blockquote>
<p>OnePlus X was announced by the China-based company in October 2015 and was launched a month later. The smartphone featured a 5-inch Full HD display and was powered by <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/qualcomm/">Qualcomm</a> Snapdragon 801 SoC along with 3GB RAM and 16GB internal storage.</p>
<p>Although the smartphone was well-received by the reviewers and community, it didn&#8217;t perform well in terms of sales. Disappointed by the response to the OnePlus X, in 2016, the company said that it’s done making mid-range smartphone and won’t be releasing the successor of the OnePlus X.</p>
<p>As a result, the company has been launching only flagship smartphones from the last few years. Since the company launched OnePlus 3, it has been launching two “flagship killer” smartphones every year. After OnePlus 3, the company launched OnePlus 3T, OP5, OP5T and most recently, it <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/05/17/oneplus-6-india-launch-specs-price/">launched the OnePlus 6</a>.</p>
<p>Recently, Pete Lau confirmed that the company will <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/05/30/oneplus-mid-range-smartphone-until-2021/">stick to its current plan</a> of launching only flagship smartphones and has no plan to launch a mid-range smartphone at least until 2021. So, for the next three year, there won’t be a successor of the OnePlus X or any other mid-range phone from OnePlus.</p>

<p>While the OnePlus X didn&#8217;t work as per the company&#8217;s expectation, the one product from OnePlus that no one anticipated will perform this well is the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Earphones. In the first sale of the wireless earphones in India, it was <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/06/19/oneplus-bullets-wireless-earphones-sold-out-india/">sold out within seconds</a> and are still out-of-stock almost everywhere.</p>

In the year 2015, the company branched out and launched a mid-range smartphone named <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2015/10/29/oneplus-x-is-official-with-snapdragon-801-will-come-in-a-limited-ceramic-edition/">OnePlus X</a>. However, in 2016, the company said that it&#8217;s done making mid-range smartphone and won&#8217;t be releasing the successor of the OnePlus X.</p>
<p>As a result, the company has been launching only flagship smartphones from last few years. Since the company launched OnePlus 3, it has been launching two &#8220;flagship killer&#8221; smartphones every year. After OnePlus 3, the company launched OnePlus 3T, OP5, OP5T and most recently, it launched the OnePlus 6.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-192409 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/oneplus-6-2.jpg?x44794" alt="OnePlus 6" width="1276" height="957" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/oneplus-6-2.jpg 1276w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/oneplus-6-2-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/oneplus-6-2-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/oneplus-6-2-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/oneplus-6-2-160x120.jpg 160w" sizes="(max-width: 1276px) 100vw, 1276px" /></p>
<p>Now, Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus has confirmed that the company will stick to its current plan of launching only flagship smartphones and has no plan to launch a mid-range smartphone at least until 2021. So, for the next three year, there won&#8217;t be a successor of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-x/">OnePlus X</a> or any other mid-range phone from the China-based company.</p>
<p>OnePlus has decided to focus on its flagship phones and attempts to shift any/all remaining stock ahead of the next release. The company is avoiding having old handsets be sold alongside its new ones, as the demand for the older devices isn&#8217;t high enough to warrant them to continue making along with its newer ones.</p>
<p>Sticking with its policy of just one smartphone at a time, the company is obviously limiting its growth but the overall strategy seems to be working for the Chinese manufacturer. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oneplus/">OnePlus</a> was the best-selling premium smartphone brand in India in the first quarter of this year. The OnePlus 5T was placed second in terms of flagship shipments in India, only behind the combined shipments of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s9-exynos/">Galaxy S9</a> and S9 Plus from <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung/">Samsung</a>.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><span style="color: #ff0000"><strong>Read More:</strong></span> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/05/29/oneplus-removes-always-on-display-oneplus-6/">OnePlus Removes Always-On Display Feature From OnePlus 6 Due To Battery Concerns</a></p>
<p>Even by the company&#8217;s internal metrics, the OnePlus 5T was a big success, says Pete Lau. OnePlus, like many other manufacturers, uses the net promoter score (NPS) to measure consumer satisfaction for a product. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-5t/">OnePlus 5T</a> had an NPS of 78, the highest for any OnePlus smartphone so far.</p>

<p>OnePlus ditched the X series back in 2016 after releasing just one model, in order to focus exclusively on flagship smartphones. It seems to have been a great choice if we consider the huge success of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-5/">OnePlus 5</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-5t/">5T</a>. But according to latest rumors, something new is in the works this year, apart from the OP5T successor.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-171705" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/x-1.jpg?x44794" alt="oneplus x" width="770" height="433" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/x-1.jpg 770w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/x-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/x-1-768x432.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 770px) 100vw, 770px" /></p>
<p>Some new voices are suggesting that the company is going to bring back the X-series by releasing a new device: <strong>OnePlus X2</strong>. According to the new rumors, <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/oneplus">OnePlus </a>X2 will be officially announced after the OnePlus 6 and it will be a cheaper alternative rocking an octa-core Snapdragon 835 SoC. Someone is already speculating that, even though the OP5T&#8217;s sales have probably gone well, the company has a surplus of SD835 chipsets to use, and the X2 would be the perfect solution to use these SoCs.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><strong>READ MORE: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/01/30/antutu-top-10-favorite-smartphones-2017-feature-oneplus-xiaomi-models/">AnTuTu&#8217;s Top 10 Favorite Smartphones Of 2017 Feature 3 OnePlus &amp; 4 Xiaomi Models!</a></strong></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The other specs of the OnePlus X2 are rumored to include 4 GB of RAM and 32 or 64 GB of internal storage depending on the variant that you will choose to buy. The handset is rumored to sport a classic 5.5-inch 16:9 display, a 16 MP rear camera, an 8 MP front snapper with Face Unlock and a 3000 mAh battery. The phone will allegedly be priced from Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 17,000. So, it is expected to be a mid-ranger, placed alongside its flagship model, the OnePlus 6. Launch could be after the OP6, but we can&#8217;t be sure.</p>
<p>Of course, this is just a rumor at this point, so make sure to take this with a pinch of salt. If the phone really does exist, it won&#8217;t be shy to show up in a few renders and leaks before launch.</p>

The update is expected to soon arrive to OnePlus 2 users as it has been spotted with Android 7.1.1 Nougat on Geekbench benchmarking platform.</p>
<p>Since <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-2/">OnePlus 2</a> with Nougat update has appeared on Geekbench, it seems that the Chinese manufacturer is testing the new software update on the flagship phone from 2015. At present, the most recent update for OnePlus 2 brings Marshmallow flavored OyxgenOS 3.5.8 that also includes Android Security Patch for this month.</p>
<p>OnePlus is expected to be more careful in launching a stable Nougat update for OnePlus 2. The reason behind it is that the Chinese firm’s first iteration of Android 7.0 with OxygenOS 4.0.1 update that arrived at the end of December 2016 for OnePlus 3 and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-3t/">OnePlus 3T</a> was riddled with bugs.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-124424 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/OnePlus-2-Android-7.1.1-Nougat.png?x44794" alt="OnePlus 2 Android 7.1.1 Nougat" width="721" height="562" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/OnePlus-2-Android-7.1.1-Nougat.png 721w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/OnePlus-2-Android-7.1.1-Nougat-300x234.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 721px) 100vw, 721px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #800000"><span style="color: #ff0000">Related:</span> </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/03/23/jingdong-mall-oneplus-sign-3-year-sales-exclusivity-deal/" target="_blank">Jingdong Mall and OnePlus Sign 3-Year Sales Exclusivity Deal</a></strong></p>
<p>In mid-January, OnePlus had released OxygenOS 4.0.2 update to fix issues like fluctuating Wi-Fi connectivity problems and Google Play Store download bug. The OxygenOS 4.0.3 that arrived in February brought improvements to Wi-Fi connectivity, camera app and more.</p>
<p>On a side note, a recent report revealed that <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/03/28/oneplus-3-3t-running-oxygenos-4-0-2-can-hacked-malicious-charger/" target="_blank">OnePlus 3, and 3T running on OxygenOS 4.0.3 were susceptible to major hack attack</a> through a malicious charger. However, the newer OxygenOS 4.0.4 plugged the issue. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-3/">OnePlus 3</a> and 3T users have also received the Google Assistant update in this month.</p>
<p>It took nearly 3 months to release a stable version of Nougat to OnePlus 3 and 3T users. It seems the arrival of Nougat update for OnePlus 2 got delayed as the company seems to have prioritized on releasing stable Nougat update for its 2016 flagship phones. The Android 7.1.1 Nougat update with the latest OxygenOS may possibly arrive to OnePlus 2 users in April or May. OnePlus 2 users will also get Google Assistant update.</p>
<p>The older <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-x/">OnePlus X</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-one/">OnePlus One</a> do not quality for Nougat update as their Snapdragon 801 processors do not support the graphics driver of Android 7.0 Nougat.</p>

It just <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/12/03/oneplus-3t-goes-sale-india-december-14/">launched in India and will go on sale next week</a>. But with it out of the way, OnePlus should be focusing on the next device already, and it seems they are as a leak says the company is already working on the OnePlus 5. That wasn&#8217;t a mistake.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">It appears the company will not be making a OnePlus 4 since the number 4 is considered an unlucky number in China. So instead, its going to pretend the number doesn&#8217;t exist and move right to the next one.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-53632" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/wpid-oneplus-one-specs.png?x44794" alt="oneplus 3" width="640" height="360" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/wpid-oneplus-one-specs.png 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/wpid-oneplus-one-specs-300x169.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The trend is not unusual though as Oneplus&#8217; sister company, Vivo, released the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/11/15/vivo-v5-20mp-sony-imx376-selfie-camera-official/">Vivo V5</a> after the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/04/05/vivo-announces-v3-v3-max-mid-range-smartphones-india/">Vivo V3</a>. Let&#8217;s just hope number 4 doesn&#8217;t go visit number 6 and ask how it jinxed the Galaxy Note 7.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The OnePlus 5 will also be sporting a not-so-new material. Ceramic. If you recollect, OnePlus released a limited edition ceramic version of the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/10/29/oneplus-x-is-official-with-snapdragon-801-will-come-in-a-limited-ceramic-edition/">OnePlus X</a>. We don&#8217;t know if it the OnePlus 5 ceramic version will be a limited edition though, but what the source says is that it will be manufactured by the same company making the ceramic body of the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/10/25/xiaomi-reveals-concept-phone-mix-6-4-inch-pure-display-experience-91-1-screen-proportion/">Xiaomi Mi MIX</a>.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">The OnePlus 5 is expected to retain the 5.5-inch display size but bump up the resolution to Quad HD, have 6GB of RAM, and sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.</p>

While the answer to that was vague (they said they are actively working on it), the company revealed that the OnePlus X will start getting Android Marshmallow next week.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-62440" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-1.jpg?x44794" alt="oneplus x" width="265" height="265" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-1.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-1-150x150.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 265px) 100vw, 265px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">It will be the last major update for the device based on the fact that all devices powered by Qualcomm&#8217;s Snapdragon 800 and 801 use graphics drivers not compatible with Android Nougat.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">However, the Marshmallow update for the device started rolling out yesterday, which is earlier than expected. The OxygenOs 3.1.2 update on the OnePlus X not only brings along a new version of android but includes October&#8217;s security patch, new icon packs, a wallpaper picker, and an improved UX.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">Owners of the OnePlus X should also look out for the new OnePlus Music player and OnePlus Gallery apps in the new update. If you remember, these features where mentioned in the community build of OxygenOs 3.1.1 released earlier this month.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The OnePlus X is a 5.0&#8221; phone with a Full HD AMOLED display, 3GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 801 chip, 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded to 256GB via a SD card slot. Its primary camera is a 13MP shooter with PDAF and there&#8217;s an 8MP shooter up front. You also get a 2525mAh non-removable battery that supplies juice to the device.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">Is it a good buy for those considering a new phone? Not really, since re-sellers still list it at a price higher than that of some new flagships which have larger batteries and a more recent processor. But if you already own this, the update should make you enjoy this device a little bit more.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-62439" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-011.jpg?x44794" alt="oneplus x" width="550" height="550" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-011.jpg 550w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-011-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-011-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-011-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">While it may be a little late in coming as Google officially released Android 7.0 Nougat yesterday, the announcement might spur some folks who don&#8217;t want something big to pick up the device.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">OnePlus community builds are similar to beta releases before the final and official release. As with all beta releases, there are always issues that haven&#8217;t been ironed out. OnePlus says users may experience issues like network stability in select regions, third party apps compatibility, and language localisation.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">OS 3.1 will bring new features like new icon packs, a new wallpaper picker, new customisation for the alert slider, and changes to Shelf UX, apart from the default marshmallow ones. It will also come with new apps (OnePlus Music and OnePlus Gallery) and August&#8217;s security patch.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">If you are interested in flashing the community build on your phone, you should check the instructions OnePlus has put together <a href="http://downloads.oneplus.net/oneplus-x/oneplus_x_oxygenos_3.1.0_community_build/">here</a>.</p>
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">Hydrogen OS 2.5 for OnePlus 3</h4>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The OnePlus X isn&#8217;t the only phone that will be getting a new update. A Canadian official has announced the upcoming release of Hydrogen OS 2.5 for the OnePlus 3.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-95149" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/onePlus-3-H2OS-2.5.jpg?x44794" alt="onePlus 3 H2OS 2.5" width="610" height="1084" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/onePlus-3-H2OS-2.5.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/onePlus-3-H2OS-2.5-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/onePlus-3-H2OS-2.5-576x1024.jpg 576w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">If you remember, back when the OnePlus One was released, the company announced that there will be two operating systems for the phone. Hydrogen OS for the Chinese variant and Oxygen OS for the international version.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ff0000;">RELATED:</span> <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/08/20/oneplus-close-beijing-shanghai-stores/">OnePlus to Close Beijing and Shanghai Stores</a><span id="more-95147"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The new OS is expected to bring in a ton of features and design changes. While some have expected OnePlus to merge both operating systems, this announcement doesn&#8217;t seem like they have any plans to do so.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">There is still no date on official release, but we will get you updated once we know.</p>

If the company was to continue its usual launch tradition this year, we should have seen the successor to the OnePlus X model sometime later in 2016. However, it looks like OnePlus has decided to scrap the OnePlus X lineup this year, as Carl Pei, CEO of OnePlus reveals that the company will focus on the true flagship lineup in 2016.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-62440" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-1.jpg?x44794" alt="oneplus x" width="265" height="265" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-1.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-1-150x150.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 265px) 100vw, 265px" /></p>
<p>This is kind of surprising given that OnePlus X got pretty good response from customers as well as reviewers. So, popularity or sales are not the reasons why the company decided to skip its update this year. Instead, Carl reveals that OnePlus wants to &#8220;strengthen its foundation&#8221; this year, focusing on the flagship lineup. Last year, the company&#8217;s OnePlus 2 flagship wasn&#8217;t as well received as the first generation model and it looks like the company doesn&#8217;t want to make the same mistake this year. <img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-83496" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/carl-pei-e1463766172872.jpg?x44794" alt="Carl Pei Oneplus" width="800" height="450" /></p>
<p>He further added that OnePlus plans to merge the development resources for OnePlus&#8217;s OxygenOS and HydrogenOS  in the long run. Also, the company will be investing more in after sales services as well as lifestyle products. Another interesting thing this year is the absence of the boring invite system. For the past two years, OnePlus fans had to go through the huge waiting for invites, which to be honest was quite irritating. However, from this year onwards, the company has totally scrapped the invite system, a much welcome move for customers. Given that the company reportedly started mass production last month itself, stocks should be enough for the demand. At least, that&#8217;s what it seems at the moment.</p>
<p>Carl finally adds that OnePlus is doing well in Europe, India and US. In fact, Europe is expected to remain company&#8217;s fastest growing market and it continues to be top selling smartphone in the $300+ in India.</p>
<p>So, what do you think? Has OnePlus 3 managed to bring back the same experience as the first generation OnePlus One?</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-78068" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/mx5e-lite-02.jpg?x44794" alt="mx5e lite 02" width="699" height="699" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/mx5e-lite-02.jpg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/mx5e-lite-02-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/mx5e-lite-02-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/mx5e-lite-02-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/mx5e-lite-02-600x600.jpg 600w" sizes="(max-width: 699px) 100vw, 699px" /></p>
<p>In case you are wondering whether you have been out of the loop recently, then worry not. This is an unannounced model and we haven&#8217;t seen any details regarding this particular Lite version until now. However, the company has officially confirmed that the phone is real and it will soon go on sale in China via multiple retailers.</p>
<p>So, what&#8217;s different in the Meizu MX5e Lite version than the regular MX5? From what we could see, there are two major changes. The company has decided to downgrade the processor inside, from MTK MT6795T Helio X10 high version to the standard MT6795 version. So, the clock speed has reduced from 2.2GHz to 2.0GHz. Another major change in the new handset is the rear camera. It&#8217;s also downgraded from 20.7MP to 16MP in this model.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-78067" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/mx5e-lite-03.jpg?x44794" alt="mx5e lite 03" width="617" height="617" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/mx5e-lite-03.jpg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/mx5e-lite-03-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/mx5e-lite-03-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/mx5e-lite-03-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/mx5e-lite-03-600x600.jpg 600w" sizes="(max-width: 617px) 100vw, 617px" /></p>
<p>Other specs remain the same as the regular model. So, you get a 5.5-inch display with 1080p resolution, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Up front, there will be a 5MP camera sensor. Other features of the handset include dual SIM dual standby, 3150mAh battery and mTouch 2.0 Fingerprint ID. At the moment, the company seems to be selling just the white version of the device.</p>
<p>So, the phone is actually available at 1499 Yuan ($231), on Suning.com. That&#8217;s too close to competitors like the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/10/29/oneplus-x-is-official-with-snapdragon-801-will-come-in-a-limited-ceramic-edition/">OnePlus X</a>. There are plenty of other great options in the market at this price. So, we are not entirely sure what Meizu is attempting with this silent release.</p>
<p>So, what&#8217;s your favorite Android smartphone under $250?</p>

<p>Overcart will reportedly sell OnePlus X Refurbished and Unboxed units  in India for a price tag of just Rs. 12,999 which comes to around $191. While these won&#8217;t be brand new devices, OnePlus is offering a warranty of six months, which to be honest is not too bad.</p>
<p>While the OnePlus X may have become invite free, the OnePlus X Refurbished units will be available via the flash sale method. For those who are interested to get hold of one of these units for Rs. 12,799, you can head over to the overcart website and register for the upcoming flash sale. The sale will happen at 2 pm on February 15.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-1.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-62440" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-1.jpg?x44794" alt="oneplus x" width="265" height="265" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-1.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-1-150x150.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 265px) 100vw, 265px" /></a></p>
<p>OnePlus X was already a pretty good value for money smartphone. But at $191, its an even better deal. The phone comes with the quad-core Snapdragon 801 chipset with 3GB RAM, 5-inch FHD 1080p display and Android 5.1 with OxygenOS on top. You get a good 13MP camera at the back, with PDAF and LED flash and an 8MP front facing selfie camera. Other features include special hardware toggle button, 2525mAh battery and hybrid SIM slot.</p>
<p>So, what do you think about this deal? Will you consider buying a OnePlus X refurbished unit for just Rs. 12,799 ($191)? Or would you rather spend a little more and get a brand new unit?</p>

We had received a number of information about the device well before launch and today almost everything got confirmed. So, its everything that we expected it to be. Apart from the specs, most of which we knew in advance, one surprise was in the design department. It looks like the company has put in a lot of effort in the exterior of the phone, as it will come in two premium versions, one the OnePlus X Onyx and the second version which be a limited edition, will be made out of ceramic (yes, you heard it right! CERAMIC!).</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-1.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-62440" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-1.jpg?x44794" alt="oneplus-x-1" width="265" height="265" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-1.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-1-150x150.jpg 150w" sizes="(max-width: 265px) 100vw, 265px" /></a></p>
<p>The OnePlus Onyx will be made out of glass, with a metal frame. This should give it a premium look, although we have seen a number of manufacturers use the same design on their flagships. However, the second version, i.e. the limited edition Ceramic version is going to be interesting as it comes with a real ceramic body which is scratch resistant and has a hardness of 8.5H on the Mohs scale. We don&#8217;t have much information about the Ceramic version, but we expect to hear more from the company in the coming hours. The overall body is quite slim, measuring just 6.9mm and weighs only about 138 grams.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-01.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-62438" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-01.jpg?x44794" alt="oneplus x" width="550" height="550" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-01.jpg 550w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-01-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-01-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-01-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px" /></a></p>
<p>Coming to the specifications, like we said, the OnePlus X will feature the year old Snapdragon 801 chipset. If we didn&#8217;t know about this chip earlier, this would have been a big surprise, but now we have kind of accepted it as a cooler alternative to the Snapdragon 810. They could have gone with the Snapdragon 808, but end of the day went with the 801 probably to keep the price as low as possible. Not that we are complaining since 801 was the flagship chip till last year. It still has enough punch to perform well with the given 3GB RAM on board.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-alert-battery.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-62443" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-alert-battery.jpg?x44794" alt="oneplus-x-alert-battery" width="680" height="352" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-alert-battery.jpg 680w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-alert-battery-300x155.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-alert-battery-600x311.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-alert-battery-640x331.jpg 640w" sizes="(max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></a></p>
<p>As for the storage, you get 16GB internal with an option to expand via MicroSD. But like many recent phones, this SD card slot is a hybrid SIM card slot combo, so at one time, you can have just two Nano SIMs or one SIM with a MicroSD. As for the display, OnePlus has gone with the Active Matrix OLED display. Its a 5-inch panel with 1080p resolution translating into pixel density of 441 ppi.</p>
<p>As for the camera, the OnePlus X comes with a decent Samsuing ISOCELL 13MP rear camera with an 8MP front facing shooter. The rear camera comes with PDAF with 0.2s focus times. Videos can be shot at 1080p resolution (no 4K shooting) but interestingly you do get 720p Slo-Mo video shooting on the device. As for the battery, you get a decent 2,525 mAh capacity on board, which should be enough for a day&#8217;s usage. The software is the same old OxygenOS based on Android 5.1.</p>
<p>The pricing is also exactly the same as we predicted. The phone will start at $249 USD for the Onyx version, while in Europe this goes up to 269 EUR. It will go on sale from Nov 5 in Europe and Nov 19 in US. As for the Cermic Edition, only 10,000 of these limited edition models will be made and there will be a specific invite system for the same. In Europe, this edition will cost you 369 EUR.</p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" src="http://player.youku.com/embed/XMTM3MjQxNzIyMA==" width="510" height="498" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p>
<p>So, this the new OnePlus X, the first 5-inch phone from the company. There&#8217;s still no Wireless Charging, Quick Charge, NFC or even OIS. But its still offers a lot for the given $249 price tag. So, what do you think about the device? Will you consider buying the limited edition Ceramic editions?</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Meanwhile, the phone is already up for pre-order on giztop, so do check it out.</p>

The company will officially release the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/10/13/its-almost-confirmed-oneplus-x-will-debut-on-october-29/">device on October 29</a>, which is just a couple of days away. We have already heard a lot about the upcoming handset, thanks to the leaks and TENAA listing of the device, but now, it looks like the pricing of the OnePlus X has been leaked before launch.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/OnePLus-X-price-leak.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-62248" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/OnePLus-X-price-leak.jpg?x44794" alt="OnePLus X price leak" width="550" height="909" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/OnePLus-X-price-leak.jpg 550w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/OnePLus-X-price-leak-182x300.jpg 182w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/OnePLus-X-price-leak-254x420.jpg 254w" sizes="(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px" /></a></p>
<p>According to the latest leaked image, the OnePlus X will be reportedly priced at 1699 Yuan which comes to around $268. While this is higher than the $249 figure that our sources revealed, its still close to the previous rumors. But if the price tag is really this high, then things could get confusing for the customers.</p>
<p>The OnePlus 2 is priced at $329 for the 16GB version which isn&#8217;t too far from the $268 rumored price tag. So, if the OnePlus X is less powerful than the OnePlus 2, then its possible that customers would prefer shelling out a bit more ( around $60) for the latter which is much more powerful. So, we will have to wait and see i the pricing is indeed $268 or whether its $249 as previously predicted.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-new-leak-01.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-61687" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-new-leak-01.jpg?x44794" alt="oneplus x new leak 01" width="440" height="300" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-new-leak-01.jpg 440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-new-leak-01-300x205.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px" /></a></p>
<p>As for the specs, the OnePlus X will feature an overclocked Snapdragon 801 chipset with 3GB RAM, 16GB ROM, 5-inch 1080p display with 2.5D glass and metal frame. At the back, you can expect a 13MP shooter, while up front, there should be a 5MP shooter. As for the software, you will see Oxygen OS running on Android 5.1.1. We expect to see a white colored version of the OnePlus X as well.</p>
<p>Well, the OnePlus X can turn out to be a great device for those looking for a compact phone (5-inch display). Lets see whether the pricing is as high as leaked today.</p>

We have already seen the device on TENAA, but now, real images of the device have been leaked online.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-new-leak-01.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-61687" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-new-leak-01.jpg?x44794" alt="oneplus x new leak 01" width="440" height="300" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-new-leak-01.jpg 440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-new-leak-01-300x205.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px" /></a></p>
<p>According to the picture leaked earlier today, the upcoming OnePlus X handset comes in white and black colors. From the image, it looks like the phone will feature 2.5D glass at the back.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-leak-01.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-61685" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-leak-01.jpg?x44794" alt="oneplus x leak 01" width="440" height="407" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-leak-01.jpg 440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-leak-01-300x278.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px" /></a></p>
<p>As for the specs, the phone should come with a customized version of Snapdragon 801 chipset clocked at 2GHz on board with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. There should be a 5.5-inch display with FHD 1080p resolution. At the back, you can expect a 13MP Sony camera while up front, there should be a 5MP shooter. As for the battery, it should be somewhere around 2450mAh capacity.</p>
<p>As you can see, these specs put the phone somewhere in the upper mid-range category. But the pricing should be under $249. For the first time, OnePlus is aiming for the slim phone tag with this device as the phone will reportedly be just 6.9mm thick according to the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/10/12/budget-oneplus-smartphone-leaked-through-tenaa/">recent TENAA listing</a>.</p>
<p>Anyways, we are still a few days away from the launch. So, we could hear more about the device in the coming days. Stay tuned for more updates.</p>

<p>Earlier today, OnePlus released an event teaser for its October 29 event. The interesting part is that the teaser comes with a big X in the center, kind of confirming that this will be for the OnePlus X launch. This will be a big event for the company as the event will be held worldwide in six major cities: Beijing, London, New York, San Francisco, New Delhi and Jakarta at 16:30PM on October 29.</p>

<p>According to our sources, the OnePlus X will come with Snapdragon 801 on board (although<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/10/08/did-oneplus-x-just-pass-through-chinas-3c-certification-website/"> recent rumors</a> have said we will see MT6795 Helio X10 chip inside) with 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage. There will be a 5.5-inch screen with 1080p resolution. The pricing is said to be around $249, given the mid-range specs.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-e1001-budget-leaked-02.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-61311" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-e1001-budget-leaked-02.jpg?x44794" alt="oneplus-e1001-budget-leaked-02" width="426" height="550" /></a></p>
<p>We have already seen a couple of pictures of a possible OnePlus handset that could be the new X. You can <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/10/12/budget-oneplus-smartphone-leaked-through-tenaa/">check that out from our previous article</a>. Also, recently the phone was spotted on <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/10/13/oneplus-mini-spotted-on-amazon-india/">Amazon India website </a>(listing is removed now).</p>
<p>Overall, the OnePlus X looks like a budget device which everyone would love. Hopefully, we will be able to get more information about the device before the launch.</p>
<p>So stay tuned.</p>

Oneplus X rumored built-in Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, along with 3GB RAM, 16GB/64GB storage, 13-megapixel Sony IMX258 rear camera. Of course, pre-installed Oxygen OS base on Android 5.1 OS.</p>

<p>The model OnePlus E1001 was spotted on the Chinese Quality Certification website. While the certification doesn&#8217;t reveal the name or the specs of the device, considering its timing, we expect this to be the OnePlus X model.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-teaser.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-60980" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-teaser.jpg?x44794" alt="oneplus x teaser" width="440" height="782" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-teaser.jpg 440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-teaser-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-teaser-236x420.jpg 236w" sizes="(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px" /></a></p>
<p>Things are really getting interesting this month. After the CEO&#8217;s teaser about a device named X, Oneplus also started sending out invites to the media in India for an event called &#8220;the Next Big Step&#8221;. This particular event will be hosted by the company&#8217;s GM in India, Vikas Agarwall as well as co-founder Pete Lau. So, it could be for the launch of the OnePlus X.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-01.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-59505" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-01.jpg?x44794" alt="oneplus x 01" width="610" height="452" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-01.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-01-300x222.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-01-567x420.jpg 567w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-01-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-01-100x75.jpg 100w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></a></p>
<p>Considering these hints, we could very well see the OnePlus X in the next few days, most likely at the event on October 12.</p>
<p>As for the specs, we can expect the phone to feature a 5-inch display and Snapdragon 801 / Helio X10 chipset on board. The pricing is expected to be around $249. We will keep you guys updated with more information in the coming days. So stay tuned.</p>

They also said that the company will release the phone as soon as October. Now, it looks like, our sources were bang on target as OnePlus is slowly revealing more details about a launch event this month.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/OnePlus-X-confirm.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-60979" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/OnePlus-X-confirm.png?x44794" alt="OnePlus X confirm" width="596" height="324" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/OnePlus-X-confirm.png 596w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/OnePlus-X-confirm-300x163.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 596px) 100vw, 596px" /></a></p>
<p>First of all, OnePlus CEO Liu Zuohu posted a new teaser on his Weibo page late last night. And guess what, it shows the letter X. So, we have very good reason to believe that the name OnePlus X is almost confirmed.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-teaser.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-60980" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-teaser.jpg?x44794" alt="oneplus x teaser" width="440" height="782" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-teaser.jpg 440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-teaser-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/oneplus-x-teaser-236x420.jpg 236w" sizes="(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px" /></a></p>
<p>Secondly, OnePlus has<a href="http://www.ibtimes.co.in/oneplus-confirms-companys-next-big-step-event-next-week-will-oneplus-x-make-its-debut-649681" target="_blank"> started sending out invites for a new launch event in India</a> next week on October 12. According to the invite, the event will be hosted by the co-founder Pete Lau and Vikas Agarwall (GM of OnePlus India). The event is titled, &#8220;The Next Big Step&#8221; and is most likely for the launch of the OnePlus X handset.</p>
<p>Although the company is yet to directly confirm the launch of OnePlus X at the event, given the timing of these teaser and the event, there is a very good chance that we will see the OnePlus X pretty soon.</p>
<p>As for the specs, our sources had revealed that the OnePlus X will come with 5-inch display and Snapdragon 801 chipset. While recent rumors have also said that the display will be of 5-inches, they claim that the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/10/05/latest-oneplus-mini-rumors-indicate-helio-x10-chipset-inside-nov-dec-launch/">chipset inside will be the new Helio X10 MT6795</a>. We will have to wait and see which one turns out to be true. As for the pricing, you can expect the phone to retail somewhere around $249.</p>
<p>Anyways, since the event is only about a week away, we expect more information about the handset (hopefully pictures too) pretty soon. So, stay tuned.</p>

Most of the leaks, including our sources have said that the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/09/29/oneplus-x-to-feature-snapdragon-801-launching-in-october/">phone will be called as the OnePlus X</a>. But now, another new leak has given out almost all of the specs of the device, and it is said that the phone will be called as the OnePlus Mini.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-02.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-59504" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-02.jpg?x44794" alt="oneplus x 02" width="610" height="484" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-02.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-02-300x238.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-02-529x420.jpg 529w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></a></p>
<p>According to a source of gforgames, the OnePlus Mini will come with the Helio X10 chip clocked at 2.2GHz on board instead of the Snapdragon 801 as previously rumored. There will be 2GB of RAM on board along with 32GB of eMMC 5.0 storage. At the back, there will be a 13MP camera unit (Sony IMX258) with f/2.0 aperture and dual tone LED flash. Up front, you can expect a 5MP wide-angle front facing shooter.</p>
<p>The display could be of 5-inches with 1080p resolution and the battery around 3000mAh with support for quick charge. Even NFC and IR blaster are said to be included in the device, which will be a surprise given that the flagship model lacked these features. Finally, there will be a fingerprint sensor at the back along with a 1.2W front-facing speakers. Also, the phone will have an all plastic design with IP67 certification for water and dust resistance.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/OnePlus-press-2-645x362.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-55387" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/OnePlus-press-2-645x362.png?x44794" alt="OnePlus-press-2-645x362" width="645" height="362" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/OnePlus-press-2-645x362.png 645w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/OnePlus-press-2-645x362-300x168.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/OnePlus-press-2-645x362-640x359.png 640w" sizes="(max-width: 645px) 100vw, 645px" /></a></p>
<p>For all these features, the company is said to price the device at just $250, which is exactly what our source said earlier. Even the specs are more or less the same, except for the chipset inside. While this new report says that you can expect the launch sometime in November- December period, our source had said earlier that it could as soon as October. Since we are already five days into October, lets wait and see if the company releases the device this month.</p>

OnePlus CEO, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/08/07/a-oneplus-2-mini-a-mid-ranger-will-come-to-you-later-this-year/">Carl Pei had confirmed earlier that the company would release another device</a> before the end of the year. Now, our factory sources reveal a few more details about this upcoming OnePlus X.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-01.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-59505" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-01.jpg?x44794" alt="oneplus x 01" width="610" height="452" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-01.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-01-300x222.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-01-567x420.jpg 567w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-01-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-01-100x75.jpg 100w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></a></p>
<p>First of all,<strong> OnePlus is said to have redesigned the new OnePlus X</strong> to make it a bit more beautiful in appearance. To be honest, not everyone liked the new <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/07/28/oneplus-2-vs-oneplus-1-worth-the-upgrade/">OnePlus 2&#8217;s design</a>. However, the renders that we have seen of the OnePlus X with the dual cameras do look promising. Its a lot more premium looking than the current OnePlus 2. Also it comes with a fingerprint sensor at the back. While we are not sure whether the above renders will be used as the final design, our sources confirm that the upcoming OnePlus X will feature a new design.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-02.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-59504" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-02.jpg?x44794" alt="oneplus x 02" width="610" height="484" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-02.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-02-300x238.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-02-529x420.jpg 529w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></a></p>
<p>Another thing revealed by our sources is that the <strong>phone will feature a 5-inch display</strong>. Also, under the hood, the O<strong>nePlus X will come with Snapdragon 801 chipset</strong>. Yes, it looks like the company is planning to put this year old flagship chipset inside its new device, which is exactly what<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/08/21/zuk-z1-international-version-launched-with-cm-12-1-for-299/"> ZUK did with its first smartphone</a>. This should help the company cut down the costs and price it aggressively for the budget mid-range market. As for the pricing, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/09/20/oneplus-x-renders-emerge-with-dual-cameras-may-launch-before-the-end-of-2015/">earlier rumors indicate</a> it should be around $249.</p>
<p>Finally, we may see the <strong>OnePlus X as soon as next month, i.e. October</strong>. This once again coincides with the information leaked earlier. So, we may really see the device launch pretty soon.</p>
<p>This news comes from credible factory sources, so its likely that all they will turn out to be true. Hopefully, in the coming days, we will get more information about the new OnePlus X. So, stay tuned for more details.</p>

Back in August, OnePlus CEO Carl Pei confirmed in an interview that the<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/08/03/oneplus-co-founder-confirms-another-smartphone-launch-before-this-year-end-most-likely-high-end/" target="_blank"> company had plans for another smartphone launch </a>before the end of this year. While he didn&#8217;t reveal whether it was going to be a toned down OnePlus Mini or another powerful flagship, according to his comments, the phone will most likely be a powerful device.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-01.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-59505" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-01.jpg?x44794" alt="oneplus x 01" width="610" height="452" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-01.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-01-300x222.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-01-567x420.jpg 567w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-01-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-01-100x75.jpg 100w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></a></p>
<p>Well this is what he had to <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/08/07/a-oneplus-2-mini-a-mid-ranger-will-come-to-you-later-this-year/" target="_blank">say in the interview about this new device</a>, <em>“It may or may not be (higher spec’d than the OnePlus 2). When I saw the prototype for that phone I was like ‘holy s— that’s going to be my daily driver’ but then when the OnePlus 2 production version came out it’s also super nice, so its really hard to decide now what to use.”</em></p>
<p>According to our sources, the new OnePlus handset will be called as the OnePlus X. It does make sense to use a powerful name as the &#8216;X&#8217; for the upcoming device, instead of a name like the &#8216;Mini. But this is a new source, so even we are not quite sure of the final name of the handset. As for the pricing, the source says that it should be around $249. The release should be sometime around October. Although that sounds a bit early, we will have to wait and see if it really turns out to be true.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-02.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-59504" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-02.jpg?x44794" alt="oneplus x 02" width="610" height="484" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-02.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-02-300x238.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/oneplus-x-02-529x420.jpg 529w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></a></p>
<p>Thanks to Chinese Social Network Weibo, we might just have our first glimpse of this handset. The website revealed two new renders of the OnePlus X (Mini). They look quite different than the OnePlus 2&#8217;s design, with a fingerprint sensor and dual camera setup at the back. The front looks more or less similar. The dual speaker design at the bottom also looks quite attractive.</p>
<p>Well, its still quite early to make speculations about the upcoming OnePlus handset. For now, all we can do is sit back and wait for more such information to leak which reveals a few more details about the device.</p>
