Trifo Ollie Ultra AI Robot Vacuum Review: Get Rid of Pet Hair and Fur

The smart robot vacuum is a product category that we really enjoy reviewing because they bring convenience to our life.

To emphasize their importance, just answer this question: How much time did you spend cleaning floors before you had a robot vacuum?

Trifo ollie pet edition robot vacuum review 16

We humans have become increasingly lazy, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. This very laziness could become the driving force of technological progress. And the robot vacuum category is a good example. But don’t get me wrong, not all robot vacuums are equally labor-saving and smart. Actually, we have not shown you a number of average to bad robot vacuums that we have tested in our office because they were simply not good enough. But obviously, the device in for review today, the Trifo Ollie, is not one of them.

Trifo ollie pet edition robot vacuum review 14

Let’s first look at the box of the Trifo Ollie. Because this model is a special Pet edition, there are several accessories that we don’t often see in other models. Apart from the robot vacuum itself, there’s another special brushless insert for replacement, which is basically a wide-to-narrow opening for sucking up hair and pet fur. As another bonus, there is also a tiny laser pointer, which has nothing to do with cleaning but acts as a toy for entertaining your pet.

Trifo ollie pet edition robot vacuum review 12

Meanwhile, it also features a small air freshener that can be attached to the side of the vacuum, eliminating odor while keeping your house fresh. And Trifo also attaches three aroma sticks for replacement in the pointer. Along with the vacuum, there’s a charging base. The base is made of a similar black plastic to the main vacuum housing. It’s pretty small and low-profile, which won’t occupy much space in your house.

Trifo ollie pet edition robot vacuum review 10

Coming back to the Ollie vacuum, it has a round shape, similar to most robot vacuums. It’s made of black plastic with a matte finish. Apart from looking good, the surface is also easy to clean without getting dust or fingerprint stains.

On the top of the housing, there’s a plastic panel with a copper finish. At its front, there’s a cutout where you have a power button and another home button. In order to get 4000pa suction power, Ollie had to compromise on its thickness. The thickness of around 8.5cm doesn’t guarantee that the vacuum would fit under some furniture with a very low base. But I’m still happy that it can get around the house, easily getting into most spaces where humans cannot.

Trifo ollie pet edition robot vacuum review 02

At the same time, the dual wheels are powerful enough to help the vacuum navigate climbs of up to 2cm tall, which does help it effortlessly cross most thresholds and carpets.

Note that we’ve previously reviewed another powerful model from the same brand, the Trifo Lucy Pet edition. But the Trifo Ollie seems to be more powerful and innovative. It’s specifically designed to effortlessly pick up debris, hair, and pet fur with 4000 Pascals of suction power, which is on the high end for a robot vacuum. In fact, it really did a great job to clean up almost any visible debris. Even when it climbed up onto the carpet, the cleaning capacity is still impressive.

Like the Trifo Lucy, it features a dual-camera system, including a 1080P HDR infrared camera and another ToF Depth sensor. The cameras work together to provide high-precision tracking and mapping, improving the accuracy of AI recognition of obstacles even in low-light conditions. At the same time, you can clearly see a separate outer ring around the outside edges, which serves as a bumper and also a collision system. So even when the AI vision fails, the Ollie can still get out of the wood.

Trifo ollie pet edition robot vacuum review 06

At the same time, it is more than a tireless cleaner, as it also brings fun into cleaning. With the 1080P camera and the Trifo Home app, the Ollie keeps you updated about your home when you’re out. For example, you can turn your phone into a remote control with Trifo Home App and check out every corner in real-time. Especially when you have pets in the house, you can quietly watch a live feed and get a glimpse of how free your pet is when you are not around. In addition, it can also be a reliable guard, and you’ll be notified immediately through the Trifo Home app when it detects unexpected motion.

Trifo ollie pet edition robot vacuum review 07

Once you open the top panel, you will see the large 600ml dustbin for all the collected crumbs and hairs, which is larger than many robot vacuums. For users’ convenience to clean, the dustbin is removable and the built-in Hepa filter is also removable. When the dustbin gets full, Ollie will automatically return to the base and wait to be emptied. The built-in filter actually consists of two filter materials, a Hepa filter, and another charcoal filter, which is also why the vacuum can function as a small air purifier and eliminate odors. But don’t expect too much from the compact vacuum as you can’t compare it with those expensive air purifiers. It’s more like a creative bonus feature of the powerful suction.

Trifo ollie pet edition robot vacuum review 05

In daily use, I think it’s already smart enough for me. When setting up the vacuum for the first time, it will patrol every corner to make a map, and show the whole floor plan on the app. Then you can just leave it to do its job. It will clean for up to 2 hours on a single charge, which will cover around 2000 square feet. And you can check its cleaning progress, operate it remotely, and schedule cleanings regularly on the phone. It’s also able to make changes to the map and schedule separate cleanings for different rooms or selected areas. And if the vacuum is connected to a network, you can also use Alexa and Google Assistant commands as well.

Trifo ollie pet edition robot vacuum review 04

After running for the whole week, its cleaning capacity is really impressive. It’s able to clean up almost any debris, and what’s surprising is that it also works on deep pile carpet. But please note that if you’re going to let it clean hairs or pet fur on a hardwood floor, it’s better to replace the roller with the brushless insert. But one downside of Ollie is the absence of a water tank. Although the kit includes mopping cloths to sweep the floor at the same time, you still need to soak and clean the cloth by yourself. But this seems to be a common problem among all the robot vacuums.

You may notice the noise coming from the powerful suction, but again, it’s a common issue among powerful robot vacuums. Well, my solution is to let it clean alone when you’re out of the room.

To conclude, the Trifo Ollie AI Robot vacuum is one of the most fully-featured robot vacuums on the market. It even exceeded our expectations. In addition to 4000Pa of suction, it also comes with plenty of bonus features even though some of them are just for fun.

But isn’t that what we need right now? Just to have fun while cleaning. And if you’re a pet owner, Ollie no doubt is one of the best options you have.

So that’s all for today. If you’re interested in the Ollie robot vacuum, you can click the link down below the video and learn more.

Design

These three handsets are not the best out there when it comes to the design. They are all built with a polycarbonate body and a polycarbonate frame, there are no premium materials. Further, they come with waterdrop notches. The Vivo T1 and the Vivo T1 Pro have the same design with a camera module including two circles, each with sensors inside. They are more beautiful than the T1x due to the more modern camera module and a U-shaped waterdrop notch instead of a V-shaped one. Further, they both come with in-display fingerprint readers, unlike the T1x which has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Display

Are you looking for the best display in terms of image quality? If so, choose the Vivo T1 Pro because it is undoubtedly the best. It has an AMOLED panel with a diagonal of 6.44 inches, a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2404 pixels, a very high peak brightness, and the HDR10+ certification. The Vivo T1 looks to have the same display but without the HDR10+ certification, so it still provides a good image quality but it should be inferior on streaming platforms. The Vivo T1x is inferior with its IPS panel, but it has a better display for gaming because it sports a 90 Hz refresh rate. All of these phones come with a mono speaker and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Specs & Software

The most advanced phone in terms of hardware is the Vivo T1 Pro. First of all, it is the only one supporting the 5G connectivity. Further, it is faster and better for gaming thanks to the Snapdragon 778G mobile platform built at 6 nm and running at a max frequency of 2.4 GHz. It has higher CPU and GPU performance than the Snapdragon 680 4G chipset found on the Vivo T1 and the T1x, but you should consider that it is the only one of the trio without a micro SD slot. All of these handsets run Android 12 out of the box customized by Funtouch OS for the global market.

Camera

Again, the Vivo T1 Pro is superior in terms of camera setup. It has a 64 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, and a 2 MP macro sensor. The Vivo T1 and the T1x come with inferior 50 MP main cameras and they replace the ultrawide lens with a useless depth sensor. Further, the T1x is the most disappointing one because it has an inferior selfie camera as well.

Battery

The phone with the longest battery life is the vanilla Vivo T1 because it has a big 5000 mAh battery and, unlike the T1x, it sports an AMOLED display with lower energy consumption. The Vivo T1 Pro loses because it has a smaller battery, but it charges quicker thanks to 66W fast charging.

Price

The starting price of the vanilla Vivo T1 for the global market (with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage) roughly translates into €190/$204 at the actual change, the Vivo T1x starts from about €150/$161 in the 4/64 GB memory configuration, and the Vivo T1 Pro carries a starting price of €300/$322 for the 6/128 GB configuration. Did you understand which one fits your needs the most? The Vivo T1 and the Pro variant come with a better display, even though the T1x has a higher refresh rate. The T1 Pro is the best one thanks to faster charging, 5G connectivity, a superior chipset, and even better cameras. The T1 is just a T1x with a better display (it has an AMOLED panel, while its affordable sibling has an IPS display) but its price is slightly higher.

Huawei sued counterfeit headphones seller in China, received 1 million yuan compensation

Huawei is one of China’s biggest names in AIoT products, which means that from time to time, people try to make easy profits using that name.

Huawei FreeBuds Pro

A similar incident occurred recently where an unauthorized seller was selling knockoff Huawei earbuds by fooling customers. The guilty party named Shenzhen Jinyun Video Equipment Co., Ltd. infringed on Huawei’s trademark and also used the “FREEBUDS” trademark for the counterfeit products. They also used taglines like “official genuine Huawei only” and “official original equipment” on their online products page to trick customers.

After numerous complaints from the victims of this long-running scam, Huawei investigated the matter and sued Shenzhen Jinyun Video Equipment Co., Ltd for trademark and copyright infringement. Other than that, Huawei also demanded 3 million yuan ($450,000 approx) for economic losses and also demanded that the accused bear the litigation cost.

The case was heard in the Yuhang District People’s Court of Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, China, which ruled in Huawei’s favor and ordered Shenzhen Jinyun Video Equipment Co., Ltd to pay Huawei an amount of 1 million yuan ($150,000 approx) as compensation.

Redmi K50 Ultra display & camera specs tipped

Earlier this year, Redmi debuted its Redmi K50 series in China. The series consists of the Redmi K50G which comes powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, the Redmi K50 Pro, and the vanilla K50. Now, it appears that the brand is getting ready to add another device to this lineup as a recent report suggested that a more powerful Redmi flagship is in the works.

Redmi K50 Pro

The device dubbed the Redmi K50 Ultra was previously tipped to work on Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 platform, which is much more efficient while being more powerful thanks to TSMC’s 4nm node. Now, a new report by Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed that the smartphone will feature a Full HD+ OLED display paired with 120Hz and DC dimming. It will be a flat screen with narrow bezels going around it, and the display will feature a single punch hole in the top center.

Other than that, the Redmi K50 Ultra is said to come with a 50-megapixel primary camera, which will likely be a better sensor than the 108-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HM2 sensor featured in the Redmi K50 Pro. The device will draw juice from a large 4800-5000mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging.

Details about other specifications as well as the information on a launch timeline are still under wraps, but we’ll keep an eye out for any new developments, so stay tuned.

Smartwatch market grows 13 percent YoY in Q1 2022, Apple leads while Samsung solidifies second spot

The global smartwatch market grew by 13 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2022 i.e the period from January to March. It recorded double-digit growth for the fifth consecutive quarter. The report comes from Counterpoint Research’s Global Smartwatch Model Tracker. As per the global industry analysis firm, the market grew despite the economic slowdown and inflation.

Smartwatch Market-Share-Q1-2022

Cupertino tech giant Apple maintained its lead in the smartwatch market with a third of the total shipments last year. It recorded a 36 percent market share in the first quarter of this year. The success of the Apple Watch is attributed to the brand loyalty of iPhone users. Counterpoint adds that Apple’s market share could rise further by the end of this year.

While Apple led the smartwatch market, Samsung solidified its second position. The South Korean brand clocked a 46 percent YoY increase in shipments and grew significantly in the APAC region, thanks to the Galaxy Watch 4. Huawei came third in the list but shipments remained flat year on year. Xiaomi bagged the fourth spot for the first time with a 69 percent year-on-year growth. It is said to be breaking shipment records every quarter and a large proportion of sales come from the low-end segment under $100.

Garmin ranked fifth in the list in terms of shipments but came third in terms of revenue due to higher ASP. It also occupied the majority portion in the premium segment. Amazfit bagged sixth place due to the GTR 3 and GTS 3 that were launched in Q4, 2021. After Fitbit merged with Google, its sales decreased during the same period last year.
