With each passing day, the launch of the Xiaomi Mi A2 draws nearer. But until the device finally launches, we probably won’t stop getting leaks. The latest is a live photo of the device that shows the “About Phone” section.
The Mi A2 in the photo has white front bezels. It’s hard to tell what color the rear is, but our guess is it is the Champagne Gold variant. There is a LED flash, sensor, earpiece and front camera at the top bezel while the bottom is bare.
The image confirms this is indeed the Mi A2 as seen from the model name. it is running Android 8.1 Oreo with May 2018’s security patch installed.
Xiaomi phones running on Android 8 Oreo Developer version now have support for LDAC. The new feature comes with the new upgrade of the public beta of the Development version. The new feature will also be available on the Stable version when the Android O update hits.
LDAC is an audio coding technology developed by Sony that enables the transmission of High-Resolution (Hi-Res) Audio content wirelessly, even over a Bluetooth connection. Unlike other Bluetooth compatible coding technologies such as SBC, it operates without any down-conversion of the Hi-Res Audio content and allows approximately three times more data than those other technologies to be transmitted over a Bluetooth wireless network with unprecedented sound quality, by means of efficient coding and optimized packetization. The technology was unveiled at CES 2015 and is 3X more efficient than standard Bluetooth coding.
With this new LDAC technology onboard, the eligible Xiaomi models now have a significant improvement in their performance when connecting to a Bluetooth headset, wireless gaming pad and other peripherals. That’s if the device that is connected to the phone supports LDAC. A connection to an LDAC compatible device makes the LDAC icon to be displayed on the screen after the connected device’s name. A new Window will also pop-up notifying that LDAC is currently supported and enabled by default.
The Mi MIX 2S is the first Xiaomi phone to support wireless charging. Along with its release, Xiaomi also announced its first wireless charging pad. Now, there is news of a second wireless charging pad.
The new wireless charging pad was seen on the website of the Wireless Power Consortium and has been certified. The pad was registered yesterday and already has its Qi registration ID.
There is even a photo of the charging pad. The design is different from the one that comes with the Mi MIX 2S and it comes in black. Although it has the same green LED in front.
We don’t know if Xiaomi plans to announce this new wireless charging pad separately or will launch it with a new device. According to leaker Roland Quandt who first spotted the charging pad on the WPC site, he thinks it may launch with the Mi MIX 3 later this year.
Last week, Huawei announced that will soon open its beta testing program for the EMUI 8.1 for the users of Huawei P20 and Huawei P20 Pro smartphones. Now, the company has officially started rolling out the update which comes with Huawei’s GPU Turbo technology.
Earlier, the company said that the beta testing program was limited to 2,000 participants but it seems that Huawei has now started rolling out the update for all the users of the P20 series smartphones. To get this update, users can log-in to the member service application and navigate to the service section. In that, once the user opts to upgrade to the early adopters, the system will be upgraded to the version number EML-AL00 8.1.0.150 (C00).
Most of the changes for the EMUI 8.1 are minor but the update brings Huawei’s “breakthrough technology” GPU Turbo which promises double-digit gains in performance and efficiency. The company claims that the technology provides 60 percent better graphics performance and 30 percent better SoC power consumption.
Earlier, the company had officially announced the EMUI 8.1 beta testing for the customers using the Mate-series, P-series, Honor V10, Honor 10 and Honor 9i smartphones. After the P20-series, the users of Honor 9, Honor V9, Honor Play 7X, and Honor 9 Youth Edition will get their hands on this new feature.
The Huawei P20 Pro comes with a 6.1-inch AMOLED display that supports 2240 x 1080 pixels resolution and an aspect ratio of 18.7:9. It is powered by Kirin 970 chipset, coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. It is the first smartphone ever to feature a triple camera setup that includes a 40-megapixel RGB sensor, an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor, and a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor. On the front side, there’s a 24-megapixel snapper for taking selfies and video calling.
On the other hand, the Huawei P20 has a 5.8-inch LTPS IPS LCD screen with the same resolution and aspect ratio like P20 Pro. It is powered by Kirin 970 SoC along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. It features a dual camera setup consisting of a 12-megapixel RGB sensor and a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor. On the front side, this one too comes with a 24-megapixel sensor for taking selfies and video calling.
Both smartphones are running Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box. While the P20 is powered by a 3,400mAh battery, the P20 Pro is powered by a 4,000mAh battery with 4.5V/5A fast charging technology.

The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is slated to break cover in this month. Since the first week of July will soon come to an end, it appears that the company may announce the Mi Max 3 by the end of this month. A recent report had revealed the LCD panel of the upcoming Mi Max 3 phone. Fresh photos of the rear shell of the phablet have surfaced today to reveal its design.
The rear design of the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is quite similar to the predecessor Mi Max 2 smartphone. Also, the Mi Max 3 features a vertical dual camera setup like the ones found on recent Xiaomi phones.
The back panel of the phone seems to be made out of metal. A fingerprint scanner is also lying on the back of the phone. Yesterday’s report on the Mi Max 3 cases had also revealed that except for the inclusion of vertical dual camera setup, the handset won’t be coming with any changes in design.
Multiple reports including the TENAA listing of the Mi Max 3 has revealed that it will be equipped with a very large 6.99-inch display that will offer an aspect ratio of 18:9 and FHD+ resolution. A massive battery of 5,400mAh capacity may power the phablet. There is no confirmation on whether the battery will be equipped with support for fast charging.
It is likely to arrive in storage and RAM options like 32 GB storage + 3 GB RAM, 64 GB storage + 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage + 6 GB RAM. For more storage, it will also feature a microSD card slot.
The 128 GB variant could be arriving with Mi Max 3 Pro moniker and it may feature the Snapdragon 710 SoC. The remaining models may either feature the Snapdragon 636 SoC or the newly announced Snapdragon 632 chipset. Even though it will be arriving with MIUI 9 flavored Android 8.1 Oreo, it could be one of the first Xiaomi phones to get updated to MIUI 10. An 8-megapixel front-facing camera could be available for snapping selfies while the dual camera setup may include a primary sensor of 12-megapixel.
Since the past few months, the rumor mill has been claiming that Samsung will be using the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019 tech event in January to announce the Galaxy S10 and S10+ smartphones and the alleged Galaxy X foldable phone may go official at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 in February. However, a reliable tipster who holds a consistent track record on leaking accurate information of upcoming Samsung devices has claimed that the company has swapped the launch venues of these devices.
According to the tipster, Samsung’s first foldable smartphone will be made official at the CES 2019 event. A January announcement for the smartphone could mean that it could be made available for buying in February. Previous reports have revealed that the alleged Galaxy X foldable phone will be a limited-edition device as the company is expected to manufacture only 300,000 to 500,000 units. Rumors have it that the first foldable phone from Samsung may cost around $1,850.
Since the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ have encountered lackluster sales, it was previously speculated that the company may consider launching the Galaxy S10 series in January. Samsung has been using the MWC platform to announce its Galaxy S series of smartphones. Going by the fresh information shared by the Chinese tipster, it seems that the Galaxy S10 and S10+ may go official at MWC 2019. Rumors have it that a smaller Galaxy S flagship phone may also debut alongside the Galaxy S10 duo.
Samsung is yet to comment on the Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus as it is currently focused on the Galaxy Note 9 that is slated to go official on Aug. 9. Reports have revealed that the Note 9 won’t be coming with any major change in its design. The phablet is rumored to arrive with a Bluetooth enabled S Pen and some improved internals such as 8 GB of RAM, up to 512 GB of storage, 4,000mAh battery and variable aperture dual camera. The South Korean company is also expected to debut Gear S4 smartwatch on Aug. 9. The rumored Galaxy Tab S4 may go official at IFA 2018 in September.
Despite bearing a relatively low price tag than a Fitbit, the Mi Band 3 is crammed with awe-inspiring features. As a result, just 17 days after hitting the store shelves, Xiaomi managed to sell a whopping million pieces around the world.
In a bid to offer the best bang for your buck, Banggood is doling out a considerable 38% off the Mi Band 3’s original asking price. Let’s delve straight into the details.

In an interview with Reuters, Xiaomi’s Senior Vice President Wang Xiang has claimed that the company will be arriving in the U.S. in the coming year. Since the Chinese firm aims to enter the U.S. soon, it will start making phones that are compatible with network frequencies of the U.S.
Even though Xiang has made a bold statement about Xiaomi’s arrival in the U.S., the company is yet to reach a final agreement with leading carriers of the country. He said that the company has been planning to enter the U.S. since the past few years. However, it is only now that the company seems to be ready to make its debut in the U.S.
The political situation between the U.S. and China is quite sensitive. Earlier this year, Huawei had attempted to sell its phones through the U.S. carriers. However, higher authorities in the U.S. had reportedly instructed the mobile operators to not to sell Huawei phones. This happened just after the ZTE was told to stop its operations in the country since it had violated the embargo agreements and had also failed to cooperate with U.S. officials.
Still Xiaomi seems to be quite optimistic about entering the U.S. One of the reasons behind it is the good relationship between Xiaomi and the U.S. based companies like Qualcomm and Alphabet. Moreover, many of the company’s investors and engineers are from the U.S. Interestingly, Xiang was working with Qualcomm in China before he had joined Xiaomi.
In China, Xiaomi has been selling a wide range of products such as phones, tablets, notebooks, smart home products, home appliances, electric scooters and bicycles, backpack bags, toothbrushes, rice cookers and more. Among these, the Chinese manufacturer may focus on mainly selling its aggressively priced smartphones in the western countries.
Xiaomi had entered the India market in 2014 and in just three years it managed to dethrone Samsung to become India’s number one smartphone brand. The Chinese manufacturer began selling its devices in eastern European countries at the beginning of this year and it is also aiming to conquer the western European nations later this year.

Banggood is giving Elephone fans that have restlessly been waiting to get their hands on the S7 without emptying their pocket something to cheer about in the form of a limited discount. Let’s head straight to the details.
As part of its promotion sale that kicked off on July 1st, Banggood is offering a hearty 29% off on the Elephone S7 smartphone’s original asking price. While the feature-laden S7 would normally set you back $139.99, you can now pre-order it at a considerably lowered price of just $99.99.
In other words, the Chinese online store that guarantees the best bang for your buck is giving cost-conscious buyers an opportunity to get $40 off on the phone’s retail price. On the downside, this is a limited discount which will be valid only for 999 pieces.
Elephone S7 is an irresistible smartphone that sports a big 5.5 Inch JDI Incell FHD touchscreen display with a screen resolution of 1920 X 1080 pixels. The phone features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for added protection.
Furthermore, the S7 packs a powerful Helio X25 Deca Core processor along with an ARM Mali T880MP4 GPU, under the hood. Despite bearing a reduced price tag, the phone offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable onboard storage (up to 128GB).
With the Elephone S7, you get a 13.0MP rear-mounted camera and a 5.0MP front shooter for selfies. The phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and is backed by a built-in 3000mAh battery.
You can visit this link in order to check out the full specification and take advantage of the promotion sale which is slated to end on July 9th. Regrettably, there were only 108 pieces left of both black and blue color versions were left at the time of writing.

At the launch of the Lenovo Z5 last month, the electronics maker also announced a new hybrid smartwatch – the Lenovo Watch X. Starting today, the new smartwatch will now be available for purchase.
The Watch X is an advanced version of the Watch 9 it announced this year. Unlike the latter, the Watch X, in addition to having a mechanical dial, also has a small OLED screen where it displays parameters like the heart rate, resting heart rate, and air pressure (Plus version).
For the Watch X, Lenovo uses 316L surgical grade steel for the body of the watch and a sapphire crystal watch face. It also ditches the silicone straps of the Watch 9 for a Milanese strap with a magnetic clasp. An optional leather strap variant is also expected to be available later.
The Watch X is waterproof, has a 6-axis sensor, and displays its readings in real-time. The watch hands and markings of the mechanical dial are luminous so you can view the time in the dark. Since it measures more parameters than the Watch 9 and has an OLED screen, its battery life is shorter. Lenovo says it will last 45 days on a single charge.
The watch connects via Bluetooth and works with the same Lenovo Watch app as the Watch 9. It’s waterproof, has a sedentary reminder, a find-your-phone feature, and vibrates when you receive a notification.
Xiaomi Mi Band 3 is turning out to be way more popular than its predecessor. The fitness tracker comes with a good number of new features in addition to a refined design. Xiaomi has now pushed an update that provides some added features.
One of the features has earlier been announced as coming and it is a one-button mute function for Android phones. The feature lets users put their phone in a silent mode right from the smartwatch. So, when in a classroom or meeting and you forgot to turn off your smartphone, that can now be done right from the watch. Al you have to do is to press and hold the capacitive button for a few seconds. In addition, the device is said to have a second new feature and that is “World Cup schedule reminder”. Well, we still got the quarterfinals right through to the finals so his feature may still be important. The schedule can be set on the Mi Fit app and the phone vibrates when it is almost time.
In order to get these two features, you need to update the Mi Fit app with the latest firmware and the features will be available on your app and smartwatch.
BBK subsidiary OPPO recently launched the OPPO Find X after several years of wait for the device which was expected to come with the name Find 9. OPPO already explained why it decided to go for a Find X naming, suggesting that the device’s innovation is endless. One of such innovation is the motorised camera slider which looks more refined than the pop-up camera featured on the Vivo NEX. The slider pops in and out of the back when there is need for a selfie. The presence of a slider design meant the amount of bezels at the top and bottom edges are further trimmed off.
The device has not gotten the teardown treatment which gives us an idea of how the slider works. This is particularly important if you are one of those who are curious to know how it works. The dismantling also shows a durable build hence, OPPO’s claims that it can last for up to 5 years without becoming faulty.
The teardown is carried out by by the guys at Chinese blog, ZOL and it shows off all the inner components of the Find X. In looks he Find X camera slider is different from the NEX but in functionality, it is the same principle. The device has an actuator in the centre of the handset that lifts and lowered the camera slider. The teardown show the presence of a ‘dual-track’ periscope structure that is made up of a motor, some cables, and a couple of other parts. Furthermore, there are cushioning on the tracks to make sure the slide up and down is smooth. All the components together enable the section to pop up for capturing images, facial recognition, and calls.
In addition, the teardown pictures also reveal the number of sensors and other features crammed into the periscope section. The sensors up there includes the front camera, facial recognition sensors, an earpiece, and the main cameras. Also, the dual-track periscope structure does not use a spring since it has a component that functions as a cushion. The teardown post noted that the Find X has one of the “most complicated” structures among most Android phones. The device is held in place by a total of 41 screws but the workmanship is highly rated coupled with a good heat dissipation mechanism.
Samsung’s W-series are clamshell phones with flagship specs released for the Chinese market. Last year’s model, the W2018, is the first Samsung phone to have a variable aperture camera. That same technology is used in this year’s Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. This year, Samsung will be bringing a feature already available on some of its other Galaxy phones to the W-series.
Going by the naming scheme for the series, this year’s model should launch as the Samsung W2019, and according to Chinese leaker @MMDJ_, the phone will come with dual rear cameras. This will be a first for the series.
The W2018′ successor, the Samsung W2019 will come with dual rear cameras
He also says the W2019 is currently known internally as “Project Lykan”. Although he doesn’t mention any other specification details, we expect the Samsung W2019 will retain the signature dual displays of the series, pack a Snapdragon 845 processor, and have a fingerprint scanner.

The famous 4×4 car manufacturer Land Rover announced its first rugged phone named “Explore” back in February and now, finally, it has been launched in Europe. In case you do not know, it is a very tough phone which can be dropped from heights up to 1.8 meters without any damage. Further, it has the IP68 certification which makes it waterproof: it is possible to submerge it up to 1.8 meters deep, even in saltwater.
Besides having a rugged design, the handset is focused on car navigation as it offers an extra 25 mm ceramic patch GPS antenna which improves the reception and provides more accuracy than classic smartphones’ GPS modules. Land Rover Explore has been manufactured by the same company which makes CAT phones (the most famous rugged mobile devices). It has just been made available to purchase in the U.K. through the official company’s site and the online store Clove.
Its price is £600 + VAT which roughly translates into $792 dollars + VAT. Even Germany is offering it through Saturn, Cyberport, and NotebooksBilliger with a price tag of €650 and a free Adventure Pack (which includes a battery pack). Land Rover Explore is a high-end device powered by the octa-core MediaTek Helio X27 chipset, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB ROM.
The Mijia crowdfunding platform keeps adding new items every week. At this rate, you can practically buy all you need for a new home on the platform. Its latest product is the Mr. Bond M1 Smart Dryer and it sure is a pretty cool household appliance.
The design of the smart dryer is its biggest selling point. If you live in a small apartment or a block of flats where it isn’t possible to spread your laundry outdoors, then you may want to add the Mr. Bond M1 Smart Dryer to your list of things to buy.
The whole contraption attaches to your ceiling, measuring 1000 x 316 x 73 mm when folded, and 1690 x 496 x 156 mm when fully extended sideways. There are two variants of the dryer – there is the M1 and the M1 Pro. The latter has an electric heating filament and fans that blow hot air to your laundry to dry them faster.
Irrespective of the model, there is a button (wall switch) operated lift that holds the rack and dryer itself. The lift can be extended downwards up to 1200mm at the press of a button while the dryer (M1 Pro) can be extended by hand up to 940mm. Maximum weight of clothes the dryer can hold is 30kg.
Apart from the button that controls the lift, the wall switch also has a button for controlling the LED (available in both models). You can also control the dryer with the Mi Home app. However, there is an additional app feature for the Pro version that lets you set the duration you want the dryer to work.
[envira-gallery id=”199639″]
The Mr. Bond M1 Smart dryer weighs 8kg (10kg for the Pro). The LED light and lift consumes a total of 153W of power but the Pro version adds an extra 500W when the dryer is in use. In standby mode, the power consumed is 0.9W for both models.
It seems that Samsung wants to push the Galaxy Note 9 to the top. After some leaks revealed a revamped S Pen as well as other important improvements, the upcoming Samsung flagship has been spotted on Geekbench. The famous benchmarking platform has disclosed the main info regarding the hardware side of the phablet and it has left us surprised. According to Geekbench, the handset will be launched in a variant which would make it the first Samsung phone with 8 GB of RAM. Indeed, the Korean giant has never gone beyond 6 GB RAM for its flagships, and this means that the upcoming phablet may boast monster performances.
The variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 spotted on Geekbench is the European one as it features an octa-core Exynos 9810 with a max frequency of 2.8 GHz. U.S. and China will get a different version with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 inside. This debunks previous rumors which suggested that the 8 GB variant would only launch in Asia and markets outside of Europe. The phablet runs Android 8.1 Oreo and it has obtained impressive scores on Geekbench. The platform shows that it has scored 5162 points in single-core performance and 10704 points in multi-core, that is amazing. However, note that benchmarks are not everything to evaluate the real performance of a smartphone, so we still can not say whether or not it will be the bestperforming Android flagship.
A version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 with 6 GB of RAM has been spotted on Geekbench as well, so the handset will probably launch in Europe in various configurations with different price tags. The benchmarking platform lists the device with the model number SM-N960F. According to latest leaks, the Note 9 will launch in at least five color variants: black, gray, purple, brown and blue. It will be officially announced during an event which will be held on August 9.
Meizu 16 and 16 Plus are set to be unveiled in late August as the most impressive Meizu flagships of the year. Today, a new photo leaked on Twitter shows us a part of the front panel of the upcoming top-end devices, and it lets us notice important details about its display. First of all, the two devices shown in the photo have a slightly different design. We suppose that the one on the left is the Plus version as it seems bigger and it has a narrower bezel on the lower part, while the one on the right should be the standard version.
It is easy to notice the presence of an in-display fingerprint reader on the alleged Plus variant as there is a fingerprint icon on the display. Meizu 16 and 16 Plus have a sleek metal frame which houses a USB Type-C port and two grilles, probably one for the speaker and another for the microphone. At least on the Plus variant, bezels seem to be narrower than the Galaxy S9 line-up and this matches with recent declarations of the company’s CEO and founder Jack Wong. Given the presence of an in-display fingerprint reader, it is kinda sure that the Meizu 16 Plus will feature an AMOLED display as this technology only works with OLED panels.
Even though they will have narrow bezels and their screen-to-body ratio will be high, the two devices will not feature a notch but a classic 18:9 panel. Under the hood, both Meizu 16 and 16 Plus will sport an octa-core Snapdragon 845 SoC, the best chipset by Qualcomm which can run at a max frequency of 2.8 GHz. Recently, Jack Wong has implicitly hinted at the fact that the most powerful version of the new flagships will not cost more than 4000 Yuan, which roughly translates into $514 at the actual change.
