Samsung Galaxy S8 & S8+ Updated With March Security Patch In Europe

A new update is hitting European units of Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. According to new reports from Germany, the update is coming via OTA and it brings the security patches for the month of March. The new firmware weighs about 465 MB and it is identified by the build number G955FXXU1CRC7. It is based on Android 8.0 Oreo as these devices have already been updated to the latest Android version.

Besides bringing the security patches for this month, the new update rolling out on Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus is also fixing five vulnerabilities found in Samsung Experience, the customized user interface from the Korean giant. At the moment, there are no other reports regarding this update, so we do not know if it is rolling out in other European countries as well. The update regards the Exynos variant of the handsets as it is the one launched in the European market.

Don’t worry if you own one of these devices and you still haven’t receive the update as it should spread to the whole Continent soon. To force the arrival of the update, you can head to the Settings and tap on Software updates. We suggest you download it through a Wi-Fi connection in order to save your data traffic. Samsung Galaxy A6 Certified By WFA With Android Oreo

It seems that Samsung is planning to launch a brand new mid-range smartphone this year: Samsung Galaxy A6. After two alleged variants of this handset were spotted on Geekbench, the device has been certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance. This official certification confirms its existence and lets us know that it will probably launch soon. Unfortunately, Wi-Fi Alliance did not reveal any of the specs of this upcoming device, so it is still shrouded in the mystery. But the model number and the operating system have been revealed, so we may be able to identify the handset better in the upcoming leaks.

According to Wi-Fi Alliance, Samsung Galaxy A6 has the model number SM-A600FN and Android 8.0 Oreo is installed, so it will come out of the box. No more info has been revealed, but thanks to the previous Geekbench leak we already know a few details about its specs. Even though it will be called A6, according to Geekbench it will have lower-end specs than the Galaxy A5 (2017). Under the hood, the handset sports an octa-core Samsung Exynos 7870 SoC which is also present on the Galaxy A3 (2017) and some devices of the Galaxy J series. Samsung Exynos 7870 is an octa-core chipset composed of eight Cortex-A53 CPUs; it also includes a Mali T830 MP1 GPU.

The SoC will be paired with 2 GB of RAM, while the internal storage is not known yet. On Geekbench, the Samsung Galaxy A6 scored 723 points in single-core performances and 3605 points in multi-core. According to the benchmarking platform, a Plus version of this device will be released as well and it will bring the code name SM-A605G. Unlike the standard version, this one seems better than the Galaxy A5. The A6+ will sport an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor unlike most of Samsung midranges, and 4 GB of RAM. But the score obtained on Geekbench is weirdly even lower than the one obtained by the A6 (739 in single-core and 3469 in multi-core).

MIUI 9.5 Bug Disables Alarm Clock Notifications, Temporary Fix Is To Uninstall Google Mobile Services

Xiaomi has begun rolling out MIUI 9.5, the latest version of its custom android ROM to eligible devices. Some of the phones that have gotten it include the Mi MIX 2 and the Mi 6. Reports say the update includes serious bugs, with the temporary solution being a disabling Google Mobile Services.

MIUI 9.5 Global Stable ROM

The update to MIUI 9.5 caused a power drain and wasn’t showing notifications for alarms and WeChat messages. MIUI engineers said a temporary fix is to disable Google Framework and Google Mobile Services. If you own the Chinese variant of the affected devices, a complete removal of Google Framework and GMS apps such as Gmail, Google Search, and Play Store is required.

Xiaomi says error logs uploaded on the official forum showed that Google Mobile Services was frequently sending an unusually high number of notifications which caused the power drain and also affected other apps (WeChat, alarm).

Huawei Porsche Design Mate RS Launching March 27, No Porsche Design P20

We know it must be confusing already but this post should clear things up. The device with model number NEO-AL00 which was initially referred to as the Mate X  but was later said to be the MateRS Porsche Design is actually the Porsche Design Mate RS. But that isn’t all.

Huawei Porsche Design Mate RS

The Porsche Design Mate RS has a launch date already and it is March 27, same date as the launch of the Huawei P20 series.

You may be wondering if that means we are getting four phones on Tuesday – P20, P20 Pro, Porsche Design P20, and Porsche Design Mate RS. No, they are actually just three. It appears there is no phone called the Porsche Design P20. So that teaser for yesterday is actually for the Huawei Porsche Design Mate RS and not the Huawei Porsche Design P20.

According to GadgetMatch, Huawei representatives said the Mate RS is a different phone from the P20, P20 Pro, and Porsche Design Mate 10. That explains the image of the Huawei phone with three horizontal cameras and not vertically arranged cameras.

OnePlus 5T Beats Samsung Galaxy S9+ and iPhone X In A Speed Test (Video)

Even though the new generations of Samsung and Apple flagships have been launched, OnePlus 5T remains the fastest smartphone in the market, at least according to a speed test. The famous YouTube channel PhoneBuff has published its nth speed test video. This time, the Chinese flagship has been compared with Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus and iPhone X, the most powerful flagships from Samsung and Apple, respectively. The speed test consisted of opening several apps, then opening the same apps again to verify if there are reloads or the app has been kept open in the background.

While at the first opening iPhone X was the fastest phone among the three flagships, after the complete test, OnePlus 5T won the challenge. The Chinese flagship has completed the speed test in just one minute and 51 seconds. Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus finished at the second place with one minute and 53 seconds, while iPhone X has completed the test in two minutes and 18 seconds. With its stock user interface, OnePlus 5T has beaten Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus and its custom UI, as well as iPhone X and the wonderful iOS optimization.

Given that it took a while for the iPhone X to reload the apps, it seems that the Apple’s flagship has lost the battle because of its limited quantity of RAM (3 GB). The OnePlus 5T used in the video is the configuration with 8 GB of RAM and the octa-core Snapdragon 835 chipset. The Samsung Galaxy S9+ used is the American version with Snapdragon 845 and 6 GB of RAM. Both OP5T and S9+ have a UFS 2.1 internal storage, while iPhone X has an NVMe memory. Among these three devices, OnePlus 5T is the cheapest one. It starts from $499/€499, but note that it is already out of stock in the U.S. and it will be not available to purchase in this country anymore.

RELATED: Could This be the Design of Most Expensive OnePlus 6 Flagship?

It never good to take such tests too seriously as in real life usage, you are hardly going to open so many apps at once. But its good to see that a cheaper and older flagship manages to beat the big players.

Apple iPhone SE 2 Might Launch As An India-Exclusive Says New Rumor

Compact flagship phones under 5 inches have become incredibly hard to find. The Compact line-up by Sony and iPhone SE are the only notable compact flagships released in the past few years and, with users demanding huge displays everyday, we are not even sure about the arrival of an iPhone SE 2. According to some reports, its launch is imminent, while according to others, it will never see the light of day.

Fresh rumors are suggesting that, if an iPhone SE 2 exists, it will be manufactured exclusively in India.

The report comes from exactly the same source which reported that the handset will have a back cover made of glass in order to make wireless charging possible. The source is Tekz24, who stated that iPhone SE 2 will be manufactured and assembled in India, unlike other Apple devices which have been manufactured in China by Foxconn. The reason could be India having import tariffs on hi-tech products, and this could make Apple competitive with local phone makers.

RELATED: iPhone X Successor Will Be The Cheapest, To Launch Alongside A 6.45-inch OLED & 6.1 LCD Versions

We are talking about the fact that Apple may decide to make iPhone SE 2 an India-exclusive, after acknowledging the success of its predecessor in the country. If Apple doesn’t have plans to sell the device outside of India, it would make so much sense to manufacture and assemble it in India instead of giving the task to Foxconn and Pegatron — its usual manufacturers. India is the second most populated country in the world and, in India, two out of nine people own a smartphone.

However, we cannot ensure the reliability of the report, so take everything with a pinch of salt.

Do you believe iPhone SE 2 exists? If yes, do you think Apple will launch its next compact device as an India-exclusive?

Sony Xperia XZ2 Tablet Reportedly Coming This Summer In 8-inch & 10-inch Variants

The last tablet from Sony was released back in 2015. Since then, the Japanese company has continued its adventure in the mobile sector by sticking to smartphones. But in 2018, according to a new report, the company will launch two new tablets under the Sony Xperia XZ2 line-up. A teardown of the camera app by Sony has revealed some references to new upcoming Xperia tablets. You can see the references found in the app code below:

Cam_core_eye_position_tutorial_port_ Tablet_8inch_icn.Png
Cam_core_eye_position_tutorial_port_ Tablet_10inch_icn.Png
Cam_core_eye_position_tutorial_ Tablet_8inch_icn.Png

Cam_core_fast_switch_tutorial_tablet_ 8Inch_icn.Png
Cam_core_fast_switch_tutorial_tablet_ 10Inch_icn.Png

From what the camera app code is showing, Sony will release at least two tablets: one with an 8-inch display and a bigger one with a 10-inch panel, both with Android, obviously. These tablets are expected to come this summer and they may be announced alongside Sony Xperia XZ2 Pro, which is reportedly the most advanced smartphone of 2018 from this company. At the moment, there is no info about the specs sheet of the two tablets. We can only tell you that the Xperia Z4 Tablet, which was the last tablet released by the company, was a flagship device. So, at least one among Sony Xperia XZ2 Tablet 8.0 and 10 may rival the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 and the most powerful iPads.

sony xperia xz2 tablet

We expect at least one of them to come with a Snapdragon 8xx SoC and an LTE variant with a SIM Card slot. In a market with smartphones getting even bigger displays, tablets are struggling to find a niche, especially the ones with Android. The number of tablets shipped has decreased a lot in the last years. That is why you can actually see fewer tablets launches by the best brands as compared to some years ago. This means that Sony Xperia XZ2 Tablet should not find a lot of competitors once it gets launched.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S Specs Rumor Roundup: Everything You Need To Know Before Launch!

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S is going to be the company’s biggest announcement in the first half of 2018. Traditionally, Xiaomi’s Mi 7 should have been the flagship that took the spotlight around this time period, but this year, the company decided to release the Mi Mix 2S to take on the big guns that have been already announced / going to be announced in the first half of the year. Given the short update cycle, the company is going to call this new flagship as the Mi Mix 2S and not the Mi Mix 3. So there’s a very good chance that we’ll see another Mi Mix update sometime later this year.

Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S

Thanks to the numerous leaks, teasers, and reports, we already know a lot about the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S. Slowly but steadily leaks have started to paint a good picture of the upcoming flagship and by now, literally everything we need to know about the handset has been either leaked or teased.

So let’s take a look at what to expect from the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S when it launches on March 27 in China.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S Design Rumor Roundup:

Initially, there were several design renders floating on the internet confusing everyone about the upcoming flagship’s design. There were Mi Mix 2S renders with an iPhone X style center notch, right side placed notchno notch, nearly 100% screen to body ratio, and a lot of such variants. To be honest, there was a lot of confusing regarding its design. But like all other smartphone leaks, as the launch approached, things started to become clear.

The Mi Mix 2S was not going to feature any kind of revolutionary design. So no notch, or 100% screen to body ratio. What we will get instead is some realistic upgrades. So, you have a thinner chin at the bottom, a slightly better screen to body ratio and that’s likely going to the final design. No fancy stuff. Not even an under-display fingerprint sensor like the Vivo X21 UD. The front design has been confirmed in the teasers, so we know this for sure.

Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S Leaked Photos Front and Rear

What we are not sure is the back design of the handset. The Mi Mix 2S should likely feature a vertically arranged dual camera setup with a fingerprint sensor at the back. The body is likely going to be made out of ceramic. One thing’s for sure, the body will support wireless charging, so glass and ceramic are the two confirmed options. But the rear design is still not confirmed, so we need to wait for some teasers to remove our doubts once and for all.

Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S Design Teaser

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S Specs Rumor Roundup:

This part is fairly straightforward.

You will get Snapdragon 845 inside with 6GB / 8GB RAM options. There should be 64GB / 128GB options alongside a massive 256GB storage option too, at least according to this label leak. The screen should be a 6.01-inch FHD+ panel and could possibly be supplied by the South Korean giant, Samsung. The battery is not expected to be large, especially considering its 6-inch display, but it should offer decent battery life with the rumoured 3400mAh capacity.

Xiaomi’s Mi Mix series have always boasted of top notch specs in all departments, except for the camera. Be it Mi Mix or Mi Mix 2, the cameras on both the models can best be called as average. As compared to the flagships like Huawei P10, Galaxy S8, and Apple iPhones, Xiaomi’s Mi Mix failed to impress. Considering how Xiaomi is aiming to provide flagship like features at an affordable price point, this was one area where they needed to work.

Xiaomi-Mi-Mix-2S-Portrait-Mode-2

This could change with the Mi Mix 2S. Xiaomi has reportedly worked hard on the camera department of this new model and according to the leaked firmware files that XDA spotted a couple of weeks back, the phone with feature 12MP IMX 363 dual camera setup at the back. Like with most flagships of 2018, AI is going to the big selling point, even in the camera department. The camera reportedly supports a lot of scenes like doc (document), flower, food, sky, sunrise/sunset, cat, dog, green plants, night, snow, sea, autumn, candlelight, car, grass, maple leaves, succulent, building, city, cloud, overcast and backlight. There are couple high-end features too, like Multi-frame image processing and FHD 120fps slo-mo and 720p HD 240fps slo-mo video support.

XIaomi MI MIX 2S wireless charging

The phone should come with AI Face Unlock (confirmed via a teaser recently) but nothing like the secure Apple Face ID. Wireless Charging is another feature that’s confirmed on the new handset. Considering how Xiaomi has finally decided to add Wireless Charging on board the new device, we can expect other company flagships to incorporate this feature as standard. So, Mi 7’s wireless charging support rumours may turn out to be true. The phone will also support Google ARCore, which was once again spotted in its firmware files by XDA. Other features include Android 8 Oreo with MIUI 9.5, LED notification light, and Dual SIM support.

This should basically cover what to expect from the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S specs department.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S Price & Release Rumors

We honestly have no clue about Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S’ price yet. But there’s a very good chance that the Mi Mix 2S will be costlier than its predecessor. The Mi Mix 2 started at 3299 Yuan ($522) for the 6GB + 64GB model, 3599 Yuan ($569) for the 6GB + 128GB model, and 3999 Yuan ($632) for the 6GB + 256GB model. There was a special full ceramic model too with 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM for 4699 Yuan ($743) at launch. These prices were very similar to Mi Mix’s launch price back in 2016.

But considering the amount of premium features expected on the new handset, like Wireless Charging, AI upgrades, and Multi-Frame Image Processing, Xiaomi most likely won’t be able to retain the same price as its predecessor. So, the Mi Mix 2S could be costlier than the old model, but not by much. Xiaomi still has to keep the phone affordable and hence, we don’t expect the prices to go up very high. Maybe the base model (6GB + 64GB) could start at around 3499 Yuan or 3699 Yuan. Of course, until an official announcement, these are just speculations.

As for the release, the Mi Mix 2S will be announced on Tuesday, March 27, which is just a couple of days away. Note that we will be present at the event to give you complete coverage of what’s happening on stage.

In case you missed, the big Huawei P20 launch is also scheduled on March 27. So, it’s definitely going to be a busy day for smartphone fans.

Huawei P20 Full Specs Leaked, Confirmed By German Retailer

The Huawei P20 and P20 Pro will be officially unveiled on March 27 in Europe. We already know the full specs of the P20 Pro as it was leaked about a week ago. Full specs of the main P20 have also been leaked and they have been confirmed by German retailer, Saturn.

Huawei P20 official render

Specifications of the Huawei P20 were posted online by Winfuture.de two days ago. The phone will come with a 5.8-inch LCD display with a 2240 x 1080 resolution. It will also have a notch in the upper part of the display just like the iPhone X but much smaller.

The notch will house the front camera and not an elaborate face unlock setup like that of the iPhone X. Nevertheless, the phone will still have face unlock similar to the ones we have seen on previous Huawei/Honor phones.

The Kirin 970 which powers the Pro model is also on board but with 4GB of RAM instead of 6GB like the P20 Pro. Storage remains 128GB with no option for storage expansion like the Pro version.

The rear cameras are the main distinguishing factors between the P20 and P20 Pro. Not only does the P20 come with just two sensors but they are different too. The main camera is a 12MP RGB sensor paired with a 20MP f/1.6 monochrome sensor. Of course, Huawei partnered with Leica on this too and that is obvious from the LEICA and SUMMILUX branding on the rear.

There is also an infrared RGB sensor and a laser autofocus module integrated between the dual cameras and the LED flash. The 12MP sensor is said to be the only one with OIS. Another feature the phone has is support for super slow motion recording – 960 frames per second at 720p resolution.

The Huawei P20 and Huawei P20 Pro both come with a 24MP selfie camera with “Light Fusion” technology which helps brighten images using AI.

There is dual SIM support (nano only) and a USB-C 3.1 port with DisplayPort support which lets you connect the phone to an external display for use as a PC. It doesn’t have a 3.5mm audio jack but there is a bundled 3.5mm to USB-C adapter. It has support for 31 LTE bands, NFC, and Bluetooth 4.2. It will also run EMUI 8.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

There is a 3,400mAh battery supplying power with support for Huawei’s SuperCharge fast charge technology (5V/4.5A). It weighs 165 grams and measures 149 x 71 x 7.65 mm. It will launch in Europe in Black, Blue, and Pink. The twilight color will be exclusive to the P20 Pro.

Huawei Mate 20 To Come With Qualcomm’s Under-Display Fingerprint Scanner

One of the features we expect to trend in phones this year is the under-display fingerprint scanner. Vivo’s X20 Plus UD is the first phone to launch with it and the Vivo X21 has a UD variant too. Reports from Taiwan says the Huawei Mate 20 Pro will also launch with an under-display fingerprint scanner.

Huawei Mate 20 to use Qualcomm's Under-Display Fingerprint Scanner

Sources say the manufacturer’s second major flagship phone which will launch in the second half of the year will come with Qualcomm’s own under-display fingerprint scanner.

Almost a year ago, the chip manufacturer released plans for its under-display fingerprint scanner scheduled to launch in commercial devices by Summer 2018.

Qualcomm’s fingerprint sensor is said to be three times more expensive than regular capacitive sensors but is actually thinner at 0.44mm. It can also work under glass up to 800µm thick (1200µm according to Qualcomm’s own infograph from last year) unlike a capacitive fingerprint scanner that works with thickness between 200µm and 300µm.

It is also reported that we may not see the iPhone X‘s Face ID sensor replicated in Chinese phones as the sensor cost as much as $60. This will significantly drive up the final cost of the phone. It is also said that the technology requires lots of work with respect to software and hardware integration.

HTC U12+ Will Be The Only HTC Flagship This Year

HTC, just like LG, has taken a different approach to device releases. This time last year, it already released its first flagship, the HTC U Ultra. However, for Q1 2018 it has only released three mid-range phones. Its flagship phone, the HTC U12+ is scheduled for a later release.

Fresh details have surfaced which reveal the HTC U12+ will be the only flagship from the Taiwanese company this year. According to an unnamed insider source, there will be no HTC U12 (a smaller version of the HTC U12+). But HTC will release a U12 Life which will be for the mid-range category with an affordable price tag.

The HTC U12 is expected to launch in May and will be competitively priced, said the source. It will have similar specs to  the Galaxy S9+ but a price tag similar to that of the Galaxy S9.

A full specifications leak of the U12+ was released a couple of weeks ago. The phone will have a 5.99” QHD+ display, a Snapdragon 845 processor, and up to 6GB of RAM. It will also come with up to 256GB of built-in storage.

Samsung Acknowledges Failure in China, Promises To Improve

The biggest brands in China today were not popular about five or six years ago. Back then, it was brands like Samsung that ruled. Having realized its poor performance in the country it once dominated, Samsung has promised to change things.

Samsung recently launched the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ in China

At a shareholders meeting yesterday, DJ Koh who is Samsung’s chief of mobile division, apologized to shareholders for the company’s failure in the Chinese market. Samsung’s market share in China currently sits under 2% and none of its phones are on China’s best selling phones of 2017.

Samsung has made some changes which may help it turn things around. Local heads were replaced last year and operations are said to have been streamlined. It also plans to focus more on customers who want to buy high-end phones. It has also signed partnerships with popular Chinese companies like WeChat, Baidu, Alibaba, and Mobike among others.

Ahead Of OnePlus 6 Launch, OnePlus 5T Goes Out Of Stock In North America

OnePlus 5T, the flagship smartphone of the China-based OnePlus is now no longer available for purchase through the company’s official online store. The company has confirmed that the device is permanently out of stock in North America.

The development comes just after four months of the OnePlus 5T launch. The OnePlus 5T — the successor of the OnePlus 5, was launched in November 2017. This development also comes at a time when there are lots of leaks and rumors surrounding the company’s upcoming flagship smartphone — OnePlus.

According to several reports, the successor of the OnePlus 5T is scheduled to launch in late Q2 2018, most probably in late May or early June.

Oneplus 5T

OnePlus’ Global Marketing Chief and General Manager of North America Kyle Kiang said that every single unit of the OnePlus 5T has been sold out in North America. Last year, OnePlus had witnessed around 139 percent growth in the region, accounting for about 25 percent of the company’ entire online sales.

Recently, a new leak surfaced online revealing specs of the upcoming flagship smartphone. The OnePlus 6 will feature a 6.28-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with screen resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels. The display will have an Apple iPhone X-like notch on the top.

Under the hood, it is expected to be powered by Qualcomm‘s flagship processor — Snapdragon 845 clocked at 2.7GHz, which is powering almost all of the flagship smartphones announced this year. Further, it suggests that the smartphone will pack 6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage. There will be another variant which will have 8GB RAM with 256GB onboard storage and is expected to be priced at $749.

As of the camera department, the OnePlus 6 will feature a dual camera setup and will come with a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 20-megapixel secondary sensor with a f/1.7 aperture on both lenses. On the front side, the phone will come equipped with a 20-megapixel sensor with f/1.7 aperture.

The smartphone will be running on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s own Oxygen OS custom interface on top. The phone will be fuelled by a 3,450mAh battery and we expect that it will support the company’s own fast charging technology — Dash Charging.

Trademark Filings Reveal LG Working on MicroLED Displays For Phones, May Be Linked to Apple

Earlier this week, there were reports that Apple is currently developing MicroLED displays in a secret facility in the US. LG has also applied for trademarks in the EU that point at MicroLED displays for smartphones. What is the connection between both developments?

Before diving in, let’s take a quick lesson on MicroLED displays. MicroLED displays are like OLED displays as they do not require a backlight but emit their own light. However, the individual pixels are much more tiny and use organic compounds different from the one used by OLED displays. So with MicroLEDs, we should get a better and brighter display but at a cheaper price and with a thinner profile.

LG’s trademark listings are for the words XµLED, SµLED, and XLµLED. As we all know the symbol µ stands for micro. We presume the X, S, and XL indicate the sizes of the displays. Smartphones are not the only devices LG intends to use the trademarks for even though they are primarily for them. It also added wearables, tablets, laptops, and VR glasses to the list.

LG MicroLED Trademarks

The link between Apple and LG is this – since Apple is working on its own display, there is a chance that it it will be mass producing them itself when it decides to go mainstream. The location where it is developing the displays is a 62,000 square foot facility in Santa Clara, California.

Samsung Display and LG Display are suppliers of screens used in iPhone X and Apple Watch respectively. Lately, Apple has been cutting ties with some of its suppliers to do its own thing, if it succeeds with the MicroLED displays, we may see it cut ties with the two Korean giants too.

But reports say Apple is only developing its MicroLED displays for use in its watches. It is even said that the Series 3 watch should actually have come with a MicroLED display. With LG already developing for smartphones, it may get the contract to supply for future iPhones.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 Quietly Goes Official In India

Samsung has released the nth affordable variant of its Samsung Galaxy J7: the Galaxy J7 Prime 2. The handset has been unveiled in the Indian section of the official website, so all its specs and features are confirmed. This device is not so different from the original J7 Prime: we can define it just a slight upgrade. The design is slightly different but not so much. It weighs a bit more than its predecessor (167 g vs 170 g) and the design of its capacitive buttons placed outside the display has been changed.

The rest of the specs remains the same, while there are some improvements in the software.
