First look at the very slim A955T

The main hardware features of smart phones are becoming increasingly similar, and the performance of phones costing approximately 1000 RMB is enough for everyday use. So, consumers are becoming more and more interested in things such as the phone’s design, endurance, and operating system. It all goes back to the final experience of the product.

Recently, Amoi prepared its newest product, the Amoi A955T, and compared to the company’s other products, the A955T’s design stands out more. The other day, the company said that it will be its first six-core smart phone to hit the market and gave us a first glimpse on it.

This is the first rendering of the A955T which looks much better than the photo posted by the Ministry of Information and Technology.

As you can see from the photos, the frame around the screen is very narrow and the screen, itself, is held tight. Its measurements (149.2 x 74.2 x 8mm) which were leaked earlier proves that that the Amoi A955T has a high-screen ratio, even though it has a 5.5 inch 1080p screen and its performance surpasses that of the A900T.

As stated before, this is the first cell phone to run on a six-core processing chip called the MTK6591. Amoi has not released any other information on the phone’s specifications. It may also store 2GB ram and a customized operating system.

Official reports say that the A955T is still undergoing price/performance ratio analysis.

Good news on the Millet: the price of the MI-3 drops down to ¥1699 ($271.94)

On April 23, as companies from around the country held conferences showcasing their new products to compete with the Onplus One, Meizu officially announced that they would cut the price of the MX3 by ¥200 ($32.01), with the 16G, 32G, and 64G editions, now costing ¥1799 ($287.94), ¥1999 ($310.95), and ¥2399 ($383.97) respectively. It is seen as the beginning of Meizu’s price cuts of its ¥1999 domestic products. However, yesterday, Xiaomi announced that something big was going to happen soon which many assume to be a price reduction of the MI-3.

25_1jnrD7XL7

News of the MI-3’s price cut has now been confirmed because we just found out in Xiaomi’s official online store that the 16G edition would now be sold for ¥1699 ($271.94). Although we have not seen the 64G version, its price should also go down by ¥300 ($48.02) and cost ¥2199 ($351.96).

As of now, it is not clear whether Xiaomi will continue to sell the MI-3 in stores or bring back its policy of letting customers who made a prior reservation buy the phones online at a certain date. It is most likely going to be the former. Furthermore, this price reduction means that the MI-3’s successor, the 3S, is coming soon. Who’s looking forward to this?

Is selling MI-3 being sold for ¥1699 ($271.94) in contrast with the ¥1799 ($287.94) MX3 enough to make Meizu cry or will Meizu just further reduce its prices?

1-14042F13S0558

After the release of E83 on Ali’s platform at the price of 400 yuan ($56), Inkit’s  mobile phones were more familiar to online users. Recently Intki followed the octa-core trend, and has released an internal model called E80 to the market.
After numerous 5-inch screen smart phones on the market, the 4.7-inch screen of E80 should seem very “unique” in the octa-core product universe. At the same  time, it did not sacrifice resolution. E80 could be deemed as “luxury” due to its full level of 1920 * 1080 FHD HD resolutions and a PPI of nearly 470. In addition, according to the official information, Intki’s E80 also used Sharp’s display screen.
Aside from the rare screen size, E80 utilized the mainstream adoption of  MT6592’s octa-core processor that is capable of speeds up to 1.7GHz for excellent performance. It also contains 1G RAM and 8 G ROM memory. E80 has a dual camera with 5 mp front lenses and a 13 mp rear lenses. It is operating on Android 4.2 and and supports for TD-SCDMA + GSM dual SIM. E80 only comes in black and white at the moment, but a follow- up of up to 6 colors will be launched. The style of this phone will be quite similar to Dakele. The specific measurements for size are unclear right now. But according to the size of the 1800 mA battery, it is speculated that the thickness of the model would perhaps be quite thin.

The model is currently available on Tmall at 999 yuan ($160).

Powering in the Super Middle-market, MediaTek Inc. Releases New Brand

83881509

MediaTek Inc. held a new brand conference in Beijing in the afternoon on April 23th. Leaders like CEO Xie Qing jiang, Radio & Satcoms CEO Zhu Shangzu etc. were in conference. The theme of this conference is to create infinite possibility/Everyday Genius, and to be the core meaning of new products at the same time. MediaTek Inc. would secure the middle and low end market and enter the Super Mid Market at the same time, covering more users.

The theme is “super terminal market” in this conference. This new concept is different from the traditional midmarket. Super Mid Market user’s group is mainly middle class with stable income in large numbers.

These people have a higher demand for products. Not only is it good to use. To put it bluntly, Super Mid Market is synonymous with higher end powering from MediaTek Inc. that meets the needs of more customers with better products, covering more users, no longer cling to mid-range.

The products are not the point in this new brand conference, but the 4 G / 64– bit new products has also been mentioned. Octa Core 4 G chips of MediaTek Inc will be listed in the third quarter of this year, 64 -bit product MT6732 / MT6752 will come out in the second half of the year. The solution scheme to the tablet, wearable smart devices, and smart TV will be introduced later.

A phrase that summarizes the conference, would be – MediaTek is changing! In addition to cutting into Super Mid Market, it is inevitable to face Qualcomma in the high-end market. More and more big brands joining can also help with MediaTek brand image promotion. The latest news said that GOOGLE’s new Nexus will use MTK’s 64 – bit solution.

Initial thoughts on the Oppo Find7 Lite — Oppo Find7 Lite

Oppo Find7 Lite

1:The white and grey covers feel different. The white one has a solid touch with good friction, but is not dirt resistant. The grey is too slippery.

2:It will fully charge, I don’t know why it takes so long. Usually it stops at 93% or 91%, and needs to be unplugged and plugged back in to continue.

3:In general, it needs to charge twice daily since I like to watch the news. Compared to my previous 9300, luckily it charges really fast.

4:The screen cover is a joke, it does not stick well at all and there were small bubbles.

5:Everyone knows the problem with leather cases for cell phones, we do not need to mention it.

6:The earpiece audio is better than the current 9300 and iPhone. However it is disappointing that the slide volume controls and the actual button volume controls are not unified.

7:The camera function was pleasantly surprising. It was more than enough for a cell phone. The night scene slow shutter has not yet been tested. Because of the sleek body design, if you want to use the voice picture function, it is recommended to use a stand.

8:The operating system is satisfactory, still using 1.2 and not any messy pre-installed software, it is relatively functional. The Mobile Wallet has not been studied. During the test, the camera appeared to reload endlessly, like the 9300 before, the machine RAM forces the reload, and it is not fixed by restarting. This problem also appears in the OPPO 2GRAM. I found that too many of the pre-installed software did not release RAM, and have not tried the 2.0 to see if it improved. The internal memory card only recognizes FAT32.

To summarize:
A pretty good cell phone, functionally satisfactory, but one handed operation is impossible. A lot of programs do not slide to close, it is a pain to have to press to close them. It has a little trouble with the 4G signal, but that does not affect use.

The A-one X disassembled

At 1188 RMB ($189.97) The A-one X has become the price king of quad-core big-screen devices, and I want to share with everyone photos of its craftsmanship.

Here’s they are:

65279941201404261723442471263203217_014

The A-one X is designed with a detachable back cover. After taking off the back cover and removing some screws, you can see what’s inside the back. There are more marks and insulating tape on the PCB. I asked an employee of the company who said that the PCB on the actual phones that will be sold should not have these.

65279941201404261723442471263203217_013

Here we can see that the PCB is covered with a metallic shield cover, which is not that common. It can effectively protect the chip inside and insulate electricity, letting the phone run stably.

Lift the motherboard’s shield cover and you can see the MTK6592 CPU chip. Because this is the first time the phone is being dismantled, the shield cover cannot be detached.

This is one pretty sturdy phone.65279941201404261723442471263203217_007

Finally, here are all the computer chips. You can see the Samsung memory card although we can’t really tell what the other chips are.

Please don’t forget to check out the shield cover which I could not take out without a tool. It’s well made and since I didn’t have any tools, I could not take out the display screen.65279941201404261723442471263203217_005

Summary: The biggest feeling one gets after easily taking the X Warlord apart is knowing how sturdy the phone is, and how well-built it is. The hardest part was opening the back cover. A strong kind of glue is used to keep the phone intact and sealed tight.
