However, the latest complaints from users worldwide suggest that there might be a major defect with the camera modules of these devices.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus seem to be facing a hardware issue, with a faulty main lens resulting in blurry images. Users have reported noticing banana or ring-shaped blurs in pictures taken from the phones, with some portions of the images appearing blurry and out of focus. Although the issue first surfaced in German tech forums, it has since been reported on Reddit, XDA forums, and Samsung community boards. It appears that most of the affected units were manufactured in Vietnam, but some Indian and South Korean units also have the issue.

Since the launch of the Google Pixel 7, the phone has received rave reviews from critics with regard to its camera setup. As per reports, the latest bug doesn’t let users save images that they capture while they are zoomed in on the camera app.

Pixel smartphones have encountered a bug that prevents users from saving photos taken while using periscope zoom, with reports coming in from various users of the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro phones. When users take a photo using periscope zoom and try to save it, the camera app hesitates for a while, but ultimately nothing happens. It has been found that the issue occurs with phones that have version 8.7.250.494820638.44 of the Google Camera app, and is likely due to HDR functionality. 

However, there is no real danger, and users need not worry about anything serious, such as their phones freezing or spontaneously combusting. Google has not yet commented on the issue, but a fix is expected to be available soon. The company might even ship the fix with the new QPR2 update (or the feature drop) coming later this month,  While Pixel phones have had a few bugs in the past, their ever-growing list of features continues to make them some of the best Android phones available.

Smartwatches are a convenient tool to help you stay punctual and on top of your schedule. However, for some Pixel Watch users, their alarms have been going off late causing some frustration. One user on Reddit with the username “91114” reported that their alarm for 7 PM, set as a reminder to give their son milk, had been going off late for the past few days. Another user named “blaqice” mentioned that their alarm had gone off a few minutes before or after the set time, and they suspected that a recent update could have caused the issue.

While it’s not entirely clear what is causing the problem, it’s possible that the watch is in a deep sleep mode before the alarm goes off, making it difficult to rouse it on time. Unfortunately, setting a backup alarm on your phone may be necessary to avoid running late for important appointments.

One user named “zrobbs” said that they have had issues with the Pixel Watch alarm several times and now set a backup alarm on their phone as a precaution. It seems like the issue could be software-related, and we’re hopeful that a future update from Google will address the problem.

A possible solution that Google could implement is the Smart Wake feature found on Fitbit wearables. This feature attempts to wake you up during lighter sleep stages to avoid disrupting deep sleep and help you feel more refreshed. While it may not entirely solve the issue, it could be a helpful addition to the Pixel Watch.

It is quite plausible that Google will address the situation in the next few days and roll out an update to the Pixel watch to fix this issue. In the meantime, it’s best to set a backup alarm to avoid veering off schedule and possibly facing an unpleasant situation at your workplace.

Recently, several Galaxy S23 Ultra owners reported that their units have no internet when their WiFi is connected.

According to numerous threads on Reddit and Samsung Community forums, the Galaxy S23 Ultra appears to have WiFi connectivity issues. The phone connects to WiFi but without internet access. Even when connected, the connection doesn’t last long. Most users have confirmed that this issue only occurs on the Galaxy S23 Ultra and not on other devices in their homes.

One Reddit user, an IT professional, reported experiencing the “connected but no Internet” issue daily since the purchase of the device earlier this February. Despite trying all the fixes and workarounds, the issue persisted on his phone while his wife’s S23 Ultra remained unaffected. Upon swapping to his old WiFi 5 router, the issue disappeared. Several other users have also found success in disabling WiFi 6 and encryption protocol WPA3 or performing a factory reset. One user even suggested disabling the random MAC address and switching to the default phone MAC address. 

Although Samsung is aware of the issue and reportedly working on a fix, the next update may not arrive before the return window for the device expires. As a result, affected users may need to rely on mobile data until the issue is resolved, which will definitely bother a fair amount of users. It’s unclear how many units are affected by this issue, but reports indicate that the number is definitely not small, with some users experiencing the problem on multiple units.

While it’s not unusual for new phones to have bugs, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is unlikely to be derailed as one of the top phones of the year. Even so, Samsung must address this issue promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.

There has been an odd bug that has affected a number users on Twitter. While one typically can see tweets from the accounts they follow, it appears that tweets from Elon Musk have universally been reaching everyone even if they don’t follow him.

Now, the CEO of Tesla and the microblogging website has stated that the company is working on fixing this issue. Typically, one would see tweets that are listed in chronological order. However, those that follow Elon have been seeing his tweets more often in their “For You” segment, while people that don’t even follow the billionaire are also being spammed by his tweets. In response to this, Musk stated that “please stay tuned while we make adjustments to the uh… ‘algorithm.'”

In other words, this basically confirmed that the issue was real and Twitter is at least planning on fixing this weird bug. Although, Elon Musk might just be the one behind this change since this issue surfaced after he had previously mentioned that his engagement was dropping on the platform. He was also rumored to have fired an engineer over this issue.

Good news for Discord users! The latest update from NVIDIA addresses a performance issue that was affecting graphics card memory clocks on some Nvidia GPUs. It turns out, the recent Discord update had introduced a bug that caused memory clocks to slow down by up to 200MHz on some Nvidia models, including the RTX 3080 and RTX 3060 Ti. But don’t worry, NVIDIA is already on the case and is working on a fix.

For those of you with GeForce RTX 40-series cards, you’ll be happy to know that Discord has also started rolling out an update that will enable AV1 streaming. This update appears to have caused memory clock issues for some RTX 30-series cards, but users with RTX 40-series cards haven’t reported any slowdowns.

The company has tweeted that the patch will download automatically when you log into Windows, so there’s no need to worry about downloading anything manually.

The bug that affected the RTX 3080 and RTX 3060 Ti kept GPUs from reaching their maximum memory clocks, missing by around 200Mhz. As a result, there was a slight drop in performance while playing games, which wasn’t ideal considering Discord is designed to enhance your gaming experience by allowing you to chat with friends. 

The solution to this problem is now available as an app profile update. Users don’t need to download a profile manager to export, edit and re-import profiles. Previously, they could just manually apply the update, but NVIDIA has made the process much simpler.

A major exploit in Google Pixel smartphones has just been revealed, allowing an attacker to unlock and access your smartphone by switching out the SIM card.

The issue has been discovered by David Schütz (CVE-2022-20465) who says an “attacker with physical access [can] bypass the lock screen protections (fingerprint, PIN, etc.) and gain complete access to the user’s device.” The issue has been fixed in the November security patch for Pixel devices. Read below to find out how the exploit works.

We can see a locked smartphone with biometrics deactivated after numerous unsuccessful attempts in the demonstration video above. After changing the SIM, you will be prompted to “Enter SIM PIN.” After three incorrect PIN attempts, users are prompted to enter the PUK code, which you should know because it’s your SIM card.

When you enter a new PIN number for that SIM card after successfully entering the previous one, the phone will unlock to your home screen and give you full access.

Schütz explains that since the attacker could just bring his/her own PIN-locked SIM card, nothing other than physical access was required for exploitation. The attacker could just swap the SIM in the victim’s device, and perform the exploit with a SIM card that had a PIN lock and for which the attacker knew the correct PUK code.

Google did not address the Pixel lockscreen issue until September after Schütz reported the unlock bug to Android’s Vulnerability Rewards Program in the middle of this year (after some in-person prompting). A $70,000 reward was given for solving it, and it is classified as a “System” issue with “High” severity in the November security patch. The fix has been rolled out to Android 10, 11, 12, 12L, and 13 AOSP versions. The November security patch is currently available for the Pixel 4a and newer. So if you have a Pixel device with this patch available, we advise you to update ASAP.

Meaning, users of the iPhone 14 series can expect to see a software update roll out soon that will patch this bug. Apple has also urged its iPhone 14 users to keep their devices’ software up to date.

As of right now, there are a few things that can be done while the company is working on a fix. This includes waiting for a couple of minutes, by which time the message usually disappears on its own. It is advised that users do not restore their devices, rather, visit an Apple Store or an authorized service provider who is trained to offer professional technical support in resolving this problem.

Microsoft is apparently planning on offering additional incentives to its bug hunt program to expand its reach. The company is willing to pay higher to those that find vulnerabilities within its security.

For those unaware, the American tech giant is running a bug hunt program that rewards participants that find serious security implications within the systems. Microsoft had recently announced the Dynamics 365 and Power Platform Bounty Program and the M365 Bounty Program. And now, the brand is planning on offering an additional 30 percent bonus on top of the 20,000 US Dollars that it already offers for finding vulnerabilities.

So, one can now be rewarded with a sizeable sum of 26,000 US Dollars. According to the Microsoft Security Response Center’s (MSRC) announcement, “Through these new scenario based bounties, we encourage researchers to focus their research on vulnerabilities with the greatest potential impact on customer privacy and security.” Notably, vulnerabilities that are not considered high risk may still be eligible for bounties under the general bug bounty program.

The company further added that one may also receive higher rewards based on the severity of the reported vulnerability and the quality of the submission as well. Just a week ago, Microsoft had also announced that it will be adding Exchange, SharePoint, and Skype for Business within the enterprise to its bug bounty program. So now, security researchers can find and report vulnerabilities affecting Exchange and SharePoint servers within the enterprise for a bounty that ranges from 500 to 26,000 US Dollars.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra users are facing GPS issues with the device. The affected consumers have raised complaints on social media and Samsung Community forums.

Consumers have complained that the GPS signal is not available when using navigation apps such as Google Maps and Waze.

According to user reports the GPS issues are largely impacting consumers in Europe, and the affected Galaxy S22 Ultra models appear to have an Exynos SoC and it is not yet confirmed if the same issue is being faced by users with the Snapdragon version. The phone shows searching for networks when users try to use Google Maps or Waze.

Samsung is aware of the GPS issue with the Galaxy S22 Ultra and is said to be working on fixing the issue. But, the company has not yet provided a concrete timeline as to when the problem will be fixed.

A Samsung forum moderator said that “the company is aware of the problems and is working on fixing them through a software update.”

Some users have been able to fix the issue temporarily by following regular troubleshooting methods like switching on and off the phone. However, it appears to be a temporary fix as the issue appears again after some time.

An odd incident recently occurred where a Google Pixel 3 user was unable to call 911 during an emergency. Now, the results of the official investigation from the company has revealed some interesting reasons as to why this happened.

Back in November 2021, Reddit user u/KitchenPicture5849 (Via AndroidPolice) shared his unfortunate experience on the social media platform. The user had placed an emergency 911 call for an ambulance, but only after the phone ringing once, the Pixel 3 froze completely. This further hampered any further attempts from the user to communicate with the person who was on the other side of the call. While the device had managed to reveal the location to the emergency services on the call, the user was unable to share crucial details like his address, apartment number, or even the condition of the person that required medical assistance.

The Pixel 3 was basically stuck on the app screen. Fortunately, the Reddit users managed to reach emergency services through the landline. But considering the gravity of the situation, this could’ve been a fatal experience for those that only use smartphones. When sharing his experience on Reddit, the user also recreated the bug and found that his Verizon logs showed no record of a call being placed to 911. This prompted Google to start its own investigation into the issue that is thankfully not widespread at the moment.

So what caused this issue? A Pixel Community account revealed that the bug was spotted on devices where the users had installed Microsoft Teams but hadn’t logged in with any account. It added that an “unintended interaction” between the app and Android prevented emergency calls from being made. So now, both Google and Microsoft are promptly working on a fix as of right now.

According to a 9To5Google report, users of smart TVs from multiple brands have reported on facing an issue with the TV app service. The freezing bug doesn’t just affect the content being streamed but also the platform itself. A temporary fix for the issue is to exit the app and restarting it from the home menu. As per the report, the issue first start surfacing a couple of days ago after the Roku update.

As of right now, this issue affects all sorts of streaming boxes, including Roku, Fire TV, Chromecast, Apple TV, Nvidia Shield, and others. Furthermore, the problem has also been affecting game consoles from the PlayStation and Xbox platforms, but the freezing bug has not been affecting smartphone and tablet users. Notably, the issue had first surfaced on Roku devices, with a common fix requiring users to remove the TV app from the device and reinstalling it.

While memory leaks isn’t exactly a new issue on the Windows platform, it seems that the memory leak issue with the File Explorer has shipped with live build of Windows 11 that launched earlier today (5th October 2021).

For those unaware, memory leaks is basically an issue that occurs when the PC fails to release the cached memory space that it has been assigned. In other words, it doesn’t free up RAM even after the program that was initially using it has been closed. This, in turn, leads to RAM being horded up, which can cause your computer to slow down or even become unresponsive in extreme cases. Now, the file explorer memory leak that has surfaced a couple of months prior on Windows 11 Insider Preview has managed to make its way to the live build.

To replicate the issue, one can simply go to Task Manager and sort the processes by highest memory usage then spam ‘Win+E.’ After this, file explorer will rise up this list quickly. As of right now, the company has yet to officially acknowledge this issue, so its unknown if a fix is on its way. Restarting Windows File Explorer process manually will free up the cache from within the Task Manager (Via PCGamer).

Users with systems that do not have a lot of RAM or those that do not restart their PCs often could face major issues if this memory leak issue isn’t resolved quickly. So stay tuned for more, as we will provide more updates when additional information is available regarding this matter.

The Samsung Galaxy A and Galaxy M series of smartphones have been a great success for the company, selling millions of units globally. However, a new report has suggested that some of these models might be suffering from a mysterious bug.

Apparently, a number of users of certain Galaxy A and Galaxy M series of handsets have claimed that these smartphones suffer from a peculiar issue that causes their devices to freeze up and restart automatically. According to SamMobile, owners of the Galaxy M30s, Galaxy M31, Galaxy M31s, Galaxy A50, Galaxy A50s, and Galaxy A51 smartphones in India have recently come forward about suffering from this issue.

As per the Galaxy A and M users, their handsets tend to freeze up and hang often. Furthermore, the devices are also plagued by frequent auto restarts as well. These issues are a major nuisance to the users who also claimed that their devices have also gotten stuck in a boot loop before and don’t go past the South Korean tech giant’s logo at the startup. Notably, some users that went to Samsung service centers have reportedly been told that they might need to have the motherboards of their smartphones replaced.

This would cost them over 100 US Dollars. The Galaxy M and Galaxy A series are usually known for their mid range smartphones, which is quite popular in India. So it is understandable that not many would go through with the motherboard replacement for that hefty price of repairs that could just be an underlying issue not discovered by the company yet. Hopefully, the brand can acknowledge this issue that could be affecting a number of other customers and offers a fix, or at least, a free of cost repair.

The Google Pixel 5 was launched just about a month ago and has been quite positively received in the market. But now, it seems that a bug is scaring Pixel 5 users as a new issue is causing the system volume to behave erratically.

While the latest Google flagship Pixel has already seen a few issues in the past, which includes a battery indicator bug and a screen gap that has since been declared as a non issue, the recent problem has yet to be acknowledged by the search engine giant. Users have taken to the official Google Pixel support forums to complain about issues with the Pixel 5’s volume controls, as reported by AndroidCentral.

The problem seems to surface in one of either two ways. Firstly, the volume controls either have the audio levels drop randomly while watching a video, which can be quite annoying. However, the other way the bug appears is even more of an issue, as some Pixel 5 units are randomly pushing the audio levels to an uncomfortably loud levels even if the user had originally set it to the lowest settings.

This issue seems to also affect other aspects like the dial tone, camera shutter button, and taking screenshots, and more. Furthermore, the volume slider doesn’t seem to work either in this situation. In other words, no matter how the volume slider is adjusted, the system sounds will remain elevated unless the system is set to vibrate or silent. At the moment, a fix has yet to be released by Google, but a representative has acknowledged the issue, albeit in a rather vague and unhelpful manner. Android 11 is just over a month old at this point and is slowly rolling out for various smartphones. While the new OS arrives with improvements and other new features, it is also plagued with a couple of bugs. An annoying one, in particular, prevents applications from going into fullscreen.

At the moment, there are several minor bugs that surface in the relatively new and latest Android version. This includes glitchy media controls, issues with multitasking, and now a bug that affects mobile games, that do not completely go into fullscreen. In other words, the navigation bar from the bottom can still be found on one of the sides while the status bar is also visible on the top.

This makes for a very inconsistent experience and can also lead to mistaken inputs quite often. Usually, a media app like YouTube or a mobile game like PUBG Mobile takes up the entire screen and the status and navigation bars are only seen after a swipe or a system prompt. But with the new Android OS, it is ever present even during intense gaming or a simple movie session. This wouldn’t have been such a major problem, but the fact that crucial UI aspects from various applications are covered by these bars.

Currently, there is no particular fix to this issue. However, certain users have found success in closing and restarting the application. Although, this also depends on the app in question. The bug is also reflected in custom skins like the One UI 3.0 from Samsung, as per an AndroidPolice report. Unfortunately, it seems that people had reported this bug to Android Issue Tracker but since they couldn’t reproduce the it, the case has since been closed. A new report has revealed that the latest Apple iOS 14 is suffering from a possibly dangerous flaw. Apparently, users can circumvent the wireless chargers warning when detecting liquids in the latest OS.

For those unaware, most wireless chargers have an in built feature that notifies and stops wireless charging in the event of a foreign metallic or liquid being present on the charger to prevent any possible damage. However, the warning indicator that informs the users to stop wireless charging and states “Charging Not Available” or “Liquid Detected in Lightning Connector,” can be ignored.

This occurs since the Cupertino based giant has added an “Emergency Override” option that allows users to continue the charging process despite the possible damages. Furthermore, users can just simply dismiss warning notifications and proceed to charge their iPhones. The liquid protection was first introduced back with iOS 10 and has been a part of the operating system since then.

Although, the latest version seemingly ignores all possible warnings. Notably, this bug isn’t strictly restricted to just iOS 14. A few users have also stated that they faced this issue in iOS 13 as well, namely v13.5.1. These users aced the same issue in the older version of the software but in slightly different regard. Although, they were still able to ignore the warning and still proceed to charge their iPhones, including ones which were dropped in lakes, or were drenched in rain.

The issue was recently revealed by a known leakster, Ice Universe, on Twitter. While Huawei handsets were reportedly not affected by this issue, DO NOT try this with your smartphone. If you do end up doing this regardless of all the warnings, expect to see an immediate crash. An attempted reboot animation should also pop up but the smartphone will eventually get stuck in an endless booting sequence making it impossible to restart your device.

According to users on Reddit and Twitter, the issue is caused by the color profile of the image in question. Reportedly, the image exceeds the bounds of Android’s color compatibilities and can cause a crash. Although, this issue isn’t universal and effects models offered from various companies differently. The issue has been sent to Google developers and the response should arrive soon.

If you do end up soft-bricking your device, a factory reset will always fix the issue but that would make you lose all your data as well. Another method of fixing this issue is entering in safe mode and changing the wallpaper again. UPDATE: Xiaomi has sent out an official statement regarding this bug. The company says this incident happened because of a bug in a new feature it was testing on December 26. It suspended the feature on January 2 and is currently working with Google to perfect it. Full statement (including translation) has been added at the end of this article.

Smart home security cameras are getting popular given the ease-of-access they offer at an affordable price point. Accessing the feed is now also quite easy as the user just need to perform a voice command to see the security camera feed.

However, a Reddit user has come across a security bug related to the smart home security camera. He owns Google Nest Hub and some Xiaomi Mijia security cams but when he performed a voice command for the feed, he came across an unexpected result.

Instead of seeing the camera feed they expected, they saw feeds from other people’s homes. Some of the feeds even had people in them, including a sleeping man and an infant. The unexpected feeds all appear in black and white with bizarre scan lines and other distortions. You can check out the sample footage through the source link.

However, it has not been independently verified that this is true or not. AndroidAuthority got in touch with Xiaomi and Google for the same. While Xiaomi hasn’t responded to their request yet, Google spokesperson said: “We’re aware of the issue and are in contact with Xiaomi to work on a fix. In the meantime, we’re disabling Xiaomi integrations on our devices.”

It is not yet clear who is at fault here — Xiaomi or Google. But given that Google has disabled support for Xiaomi, it implies that the Chinese company is at fault otherwise Google wouldn’t have disabled support if it didn’t have some sort of evidence.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM XIAOMI (Translation below)

Regarding Mi Home Security Camera Basic 1080p (Mi Home smart Camera overseas edition) temporarily offline connection to the Google Home Hub.

1. On January 2, 2020, Beijing time, we learned that Mi Home Security Camera Basic 1080p, which was sold overseas, was connected to the Google screen speaker through Google Home Hub, and there was a small probability that it would receive streaming images from the Camera under other Google user accounts. The relevant service was launched on December 26, 2019 as a test of a new function, and we have communicated with the relevant platform to suspend the service at 17:00 on January 2, 2020 and fix the relevant Bug.

2. Mi Home Security Camera Basic 1080p’s connection to Google Home Hub is one of the features developed by Xiaomi for Google smart Home system. The aforementioned Bug occurred when Mi Home Security Camera Basic 1080p sold overseas was connected to Google’s products with screen speakers via the Google Home Hub platform, only with minimal probability in the case of weak network. The total number of users found to have relevant usage scenarios is 1044, of which only a few are likely to be affected.

3. Domestic users and all users (including Chinese and overseas users) who use mijia APP platform and mi mijia related cameras are not affected.

Currently, the security team of Xiaomi has communicated with Google and fixed relevant bugs. We will re-launch this function in due time after both parties have jointly tested and perfected it. Xiaomi always attaches great importance to users’ security and privacy, and will continue to do its best to protect users’ rights and interests.
