It is powered by the Snapdragon 821 and unlike some other manufacturers, the chip isn’t under-clocked. When it launched, the Le Pro 3 cost over $300 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB variant but if you head to the Amazon US website, you can pick it up for just $200!!!

Yes, $200 will get you a 2016 flagship that can compete with the OnePlus 3T, first gen Pixels and even the Mi 5S and Mi 5S Plus. The LeEco Le Pro 3 packs a 5.5-inch FHD display, a 16MP f/2.0 1.12 µm rear camera that can record in 4K. The front facing camera is an 8MP sensor which takes decent selfies.

You also get a 4070mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support via a USB Type-C port. The Le Pro 3 doesn’t have a 3.5mm audio jack but you can be assured of an impressive audio experience with its award winning CDLA USB type-C earphones that are included in the box.

There is a fingerprint scanner on the back, an IR blaster, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, Dolby Atmos Audio, and even FM Radio. The only downside is that it comes with EMUI 5.8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. And since the manufacturer’s financial problem began there has been no software support for its devices.

However, there is an official LineageOS 14.1 ROM based on Android 7.1.x Nougat available. The latest build was uploaded 2 days ago, so the device is still actively supported.

For $200, this is a steal for a brand new 2016 flagship. You can order the Le Pro 3 here but do note that its only available in gold.

This further puts more doubt on the financial condition of the company.

The Chinese ad agency has accused four affiliate firms of LeEco for non-payment of marketing fees of over 60 million Yuan ($8.8 million). LeEco has been sued by MIG Unmbi Technology, the parent company of Jinyuan Technology. The People’s Court of Chaoyang District in Beijing has accepted three of the five cases that has been filed against LeEco.

The court’s statement requires LeSports, Leshi Holding and Leshi E-commerce to initiate prompt payment along with a penalty of 0.05 percent per day interest. For the remaining two cases Jinyuan Technology has not received acceptance from the court. According to the statement, the ad agency is seeking 13.8 million Yuan as immediate payment from Le.com

Read More: LeEco CEO Jia Yueting Steps Down Amidst Financial Troubles

The reason behind the delay in payment is that the promotional campaigns finished at the end of 2016. This coincided with the first confirmation by LeEco founder Jia Yueting that the company is facing financial problems as it tried to expand outside of China at breakneck pace. In the previous month, LeEco laid around 325 workers in San Jose and Santa Clara divisions in the U.S. It means that about 70 percent LeEco employees in the U.S. were laid off. Reports claim that it is due to the lack of funds that the Chinese firm has laid off so many of its employees. The company is now targeting Chinese-speaking consumers in the U.S.

LeEco began in China as a video streaming platform and it has been also selling smartphones and TVs through which it makes its original content available to the consumers. it is also developing electric cars. In May, Yueting has resigned from the post of CEO from Leshi Internet Information & Technology and is currently only serving as the chairman of LeEco.

LeEco had introduced itself in the U.S. in 2016 with Android TV, LeEco Le Pro 3 and Le S3. These products managed to grab the attention of the consumers as they came with low pricing and topnotch features, but the company failed to achieve impress sales numbers. Sunac China Holidings, a property developer had injected huge amount of funds to support LeEco. However, now that the company has defaulted in advertising charges to Jinyuan Technology, it is still in a financial mess.

This year, more companies have come up to prove this very point, which has left us with plenty of smartphones that are very good on paper and does not cost a fortune.

So, here we list the best smartphones in the market today, ranging from $300 and going all the way up to $770. These are some of the best Chinese flagships that you can buy right now.

OnePlus 3T

Almost everyone would agree that the best Chinese flagship phone list isn’t complete without a OnePlus smartphone. Since the past three years, OnePlus has etched out a niche market for itself — the one and only affordable flagship that you need and the tradition continues this year as well with the latest OnePlus flagship, the OnePlus 3T, which is one of the best phones you can buy for your money right now.

(OnePlus 3 Review Here)

The phone comes with the most powerful Qualcomm processor yet, the Snapdragon 821, 6GB of RAM for super fast multi-tasking and even a 128GB ROM option for those who found 64GB not enough on the OnePlus 3. The rear camera is pretty good, with a 16MP Sony sensor with OIS and PDAF, but what’s really the highlight is the front camera, a 16MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture, making it a handy device for clicking your selfies.

The 3400mAh battery will ensure that your phone is powered for a day and if you find that not enough, the Dash Charge, which gets you 60% battery in 30 minutes, will get the job done.

It’s definitely a great flagship costing just $439!

You can read the entire specifications of the OP3T here.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2

Xiaomi’s smartphones have always been affordable and value for money and recently the company has increased its efforts to make a mark in the high-end flagship segment. As a result, we have a few Xiaomi flagships that make it to the list here (three to be exact) and all the three are worthy enough of your hard earned money. They come with top-notch features at an affordable price, making it true value for money.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 makes it to this list, which is unsurprising, given its dual curved display and powerful specs.

This Xiaomi flagship is a bit different from other phones in the list because of its dual curved display. The phone is a bit larger as well, as it comes with a 5.7-inch 1080p display, as opposed to the 5.5-inchers that are in this list. But the larger display means you have more screen real estate which is great for your games and videos. Inside, you get the best Snapdragon 821 chip, with the top-end variant featuring 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage.

The phone features a great 22.5MP 1/2.6″ sensor with EIS (gyro), PDAF and dual LED flash. The phone also features a large 4070mAh battery with QC 3.0 (82% in just 30 minutes) making sure that your large screen will be powered throughout the day.

The phone’s official price starts at $413 in China and goes all the way up to $516 for the 6GB RAM model. However, as you know, one will have to shell out anywhere from $50-$100 premium for each variant model.

If you are looking for a Chinese flagship that’s compact and powerful, you should definitely check out the Xiaomi Mi 5S. The phone features a 5.15-inch compact display with 3D Touch on the top end 4GB + 128GB ROM version.

(Xiaomi Mi 5S Review Here)

It’s slim, weighs just 145 grams and is ideal for a small sized flagship. Internals are powerful, coming with Snapdragon 821 with Adreno 530 GPU, and a 1/2.3″ 12MP f/2.0 camera which should ensure good quality pictures even in low light. One feature missing from the camera is OIS. The battery is also decent measuring 3200mAh and QC 3.0 support helps in powering the phone all day long.

The pricing in China starts at around $300, going up to $350 for the 128GB version.

You can check out all the specs of the Xiaomi Mi 5S from here.

Xiaomi Mi Mix

The Xiaomi Mi Mix is one of the biggest surprises of the year 2016 and hence, there is no way this list is complete without including this flagship. However, because of its super giant display, which covers more than 90% of the front, the Mi Mix is probably not for everyone. After all, using a 6.4-inch 1080p display on a day to day basis is not an easy task.

But if you are someone who loves big screens, the Xiaomi Mi Mix is probably one of the best-looking phones that you can buy right now. It is once again powered by the popular Snapdragon 821 chipset and even comes with a 256GB + 6GB RAM option for those who really want to take things to the next level.

While the camera is decent featuring a 16MP sensor with EIS and PDAF, it’s not the best in the market, which might be a let down for some. But it should still click some decent pictures. The battery is large, measuring 4400mAh which will ensure that you will get at least day long battery life despite its super large display.

The limited supply is probably its biggest drawback. This also makes the actual purchase price of the Mi Mix, higher than the official price tag of $516.

You can read more about the Xiaomi Mi Mix specs from here.

LeEco Le Pro 3

Despite its late entry into the smartphone market, LeEco has given us some of the best value for money smartphones available in the market right now. As a result, there is no surprise that this list includes the LeEco Le Pro 3 flagship that is powered by the mighty Snapdragon 821 chipset.

(Le Pro 3 Review Here)

In fact, the Le Pro 3 comes with all the bells and whistles found on a regular Android flagship today, including 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM option, a large 4070mAh battery, a decent 16MP camera with PDAF and a super slim 7.5mm body (slimmer than most phones in this list). However, what really sets this phone apart from others is the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone uses the company’s USB Type-C powered CDLA standard which it claims is better than standard headphone jacks.

If you can live without a traditional 3.5mm headphone jack, the Le Pro 3 is one of the most affordable Snapdragon 821 powered phones in the market.

It starts at around $270 in China and goes up to $300 for the 6GB RAM model. However, you can get the 6GB RAM version from sellers like OPPOMART for around $380, which is a good price even after the premium charged.

You can read the entire specs of the LeEco Le Pro 3 from here.

Huawei Mate 9

Your search for a good looking metal phablet ends with the Huawei Mate 9. It comes with everything that you wish for in a smartphone, including a Leica certified 20MP + 12MP dual cameras at the back. The Huawei P9 had one of the most interesting cameras in the segment and the Mate 9 aims to take things to a different level.

This Huawei flagship comes with a massive 5.9-inch display with 1080p display. Unlike the other phones in this list, the Huawei Mate 9 is powered by its own chipset, the Hisilicon Kirin 960, which to be honest has really caught up with other flagship processors in the market today. While there is no 6GB RAM option for this model, 4GB + 64GB storage along with MicroSD expansion up to 256GB should be enough for most users out there.

The dual cameras is the real focus of the phone, featuring 20MP + 12MP dual sensors with f/2.2 aperture, 2x zoom, PDAF + Laser Focus and dual tone flash. The front facing 8MP f/1.9 sensor should be enough for great selfies. Further, like all Mate series flagships, the Mate 9 also comes with a large 4000mAh battery.

This actually doesn’t fit in the affordable flagship category, with pricing starting upwards of $700. However, for this price, you get top-notch built quality, powerful hardware, Leica certified cameras as well as a premium experience. This is why it makes sense to include the phone in this list despite its costly price tag of $775.

You can check out the specs of the Mate 9 from here.

So, these were the top Chinese Flagships that you can buy in the market today. I would like to include some honorable mentions as well, like the 6GB version of ZUK Z2 Pro powered by Snapdragon 820 as well as the ZTE Axon 7 coming with a great audio experience. But if you are in the market to get the best Chinese flagship, the phones listed above are probably your best bet.

So, what do you feel about this Chinese flagship list? Do you think I missed out on any great phone?

Now, it looks like the collaboration is back with a new Cool device, as it recently passed through the network certification website TENAA.

From the design of this new smartphone, it looks like a variant of the Le Pro 3 that was announced by LeEco a while back. The back texture seems to be a bit different and the writing near the bottom now features Cool’s logo as well as ‘LeEco Inside’ tagline. Rest of the design is exactly the same as the Le Pro 3. The website reveals that there will be different color options like gold, white, silver, blue, black etc.

As for the specs, the new Cool smartphone will feature a 5.5-inch 1080p display with Snapdragon 821 (2.35GHz) inside and 4GB / 6GB RAM options. There will be three storage variants, namely 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB. Further, like the Le Pro 3, this new phone also features a large 4000mAh battery.

For camera, the phone will have a 16MP sensor at the back and an 8MP sensor up front. As for the software, it is running on Android 6.0.1.

There are no further details available about this device, but given that it has passed through TENAA, we can expect more info in the coming days. It will be interesting to see how different this Coolpad + LeEco flagship will turn out to be as compared to the Le Pro 3.

After running it on Antutu, the Mate 9 scored a total of 132,289 points on the benchmarking app. The score is lower than that of Snadragon 821 devices which have managed to pull in more than 160,000 points. Where the Kirin 960 fails is in GPU tests as it pales behind the Adreno 530 of the Snapdragon 821 found in the LeEco Le Pro 3.

The Kirin 960 is built using TSMC’s 16nm FinFET process. It features four cortex-A73 cores and four cortex-A53 cores. The GPU is a Mali G71 which is still not as powerful as Qualcomm’s Adreno but still offers significant improvement over previous models.

The Kirin 960 is expected to be the chip that will be used in Huawei’s P10 scheduled to launch next year. If that will be a good idea is left for Huawei to decide as Qualcomm’s latest SD 830 processor will start appearing in devices at about the same time as the P10 launch or even earlier.

The company recently released the Le Pro 3 and Le S3 models in the US and it looks like in November, it will announce another device, this time in China. Now, the phone seems to have hit the AnTuTu benchmarking app, revealing most of its specifications.

AnTuTu reveals that the phone will be called as the Le S3 (yes, the same name as the one launched in the US but with different specs). The phone will come with the Helio X20 chipset (MT6797) with a 1080p display (size unknown) and Android 6.0 Marshmallow on top. The rear camera is a 21MP sensor while up front, there is an 8MP sensor. The phone seems to be pretty powerful, with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM options. The app revealed that the Le S3 managed to score around 95,000 in the benchmark test.

RELATED: LeEco LESEE Pro Electric Car Launched In the US

To recap, the Le S3 model announced in the US came with Snapdragon 652, 3GB RAM and a 16MP camera. So, this model seems to be different.

Another interesting highlight, which is yet to be confirmed, is the pricing. It is said that this phone will be targeted at the 1000 Yuan market, so the pricing should be near $150. Also, the phone is said to come with a 24W fast charging technology, which should ensure super fast charging speeds.

Now, if you remember, there has been a phone making rounds on the internet, called as the Le Dual 3. If you still can’t recall the device, I am talking about the AI phone with the funny looking dual camera module. The Le S3 and this Dual 3 seem to be different devices, although they could be launched together in an event.

We are waiting for more details to emerge about the company’s event, which is said to be in this month itself.

For mobile phones, Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus takes the top spot with a score of 172644 followed closely by the smaller sized iPhone 7 which scored 170124. This shouldn’t be a surprise considering the fact that quite a number of reviews have praised Apple’s new A10 Fusion chip. If you can remember, we covered a web performance test of the new chip against other flagships and the iPhone 7 came out on top.

Next in line is the LeEco Le Pro 3. The Pro 3 which is the first Chinese smartphone to sport the new Qualcomm 821 processor comes in at number three with a score of 160856, pushing Xiaomi’s new phones the Mi 5s Plus and Mi 5s to fourth and fifth position respectively.

There should be no surprise at the result of the Mi 5s considering its SD 821 chip is under-clocked.

OnePlus 3 takes the sixth position with 140288 points starting the list of Snapdragon 820 phones on the list.

Vivo’s Xplay 5 Elite and Samsung’s controversial Galaxy Note 7 slug it out for the seventh and eight spot but the Elite comes in ahead with 333 points more than the Note 7. The Le Max 2 comes in at number 9 and ZTE’s Nubia line wraps up the list with the Nubia Z11.

There’s also another Antutu list of top 10 iOS devices which is headed by the iPad Pro with 177266 points. The iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 7 follow for second and third positions. The 9.7” iPad Pro takes the fourth spot, the 6s Plus takes fifth position and the iPhone SE takes the seventh slot.

For the top 10 android devices, the order is the same for the first one above, but since Apple devices are not on the list, the ZUK Z2 and Xiaomi Mi 5 get on the list coming in at number nine and ten respectively.

In my opinion, Xiaomi’s biggest threat when it comes to affordable flagships is LeEco.

In my opinion, Xiaomi’s biggest threat when it comes to affordable flagships is LeEco. Just two years into the business of phone manufacturing, the company (LeEco) already has an interesting portfolio even though it isn’t half as large as that of Xiaomi.

Last week, LeEco launched a new phone, the Le Pro 3 which is the first Chinese phone to feature the all-new Snapdragon 821 processor. Earlier today, Xiaomi launched not one, but two snapdragon 821 phones, the Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus. We’ve decided to do a comparison of all three devices. Highlighting their pros and cons hoping it will help you decide which to settle for.

Le Pro 3

Design

All three phones feature an all-metal body. The Xiaomi Mi 5s is the smallest of the lot standing tall at 145.6 mm, followed by the Le Pro 3 at 151.4 mm, and the 5s Plus at 154.6 mm. You might think the Mi 5s should get the award for the thinnest considering it’s small size and small battery, but the Le Pro 3 wins in that aspect and its a surprise considering it has the largest battery of the lot. The large battery of the LeEco makes it lose out in the weight department. It weighs 175g, a tad higher than the Mi 5s Plus at 168g and significantly more than the Mi 5s’ 145g.

Display

Both companies decided to stick to IPS displays this time, probably to keep the price down. Resolution is the same at 1080p but pixel density varies. The Mi 5s has a 428 ppi for its 5.15” display; the Le Pro 3’s 5.5” screen has a ppi of 403, and the Mi 5s Plus comes in last with a ppi of 386 based on its massive 5.7” display.

Most people won’t notice the difference unless they are holding the screens very close to their eyes. But what matters most will be colour reproduction and sunlight legibility.

Cameras

The Le Pro 3 is equipped with a 16 megapixel Sony IMX298 camera with a 1/2.8″ sensor size and 1.12 µm pixel size. The camera which has an aperture size of f/2.0, 76.5° wide-angle lens, PDAF, dual tone flash, shoots in 4K at 30fps, and 720p slow motion at 120fps. It’s front facing camera is an 8 megapixel sensor with a f/2.2 aperture which can also record 1080p videos.

Xiaomi’s Mi 5s has a 12MP f/2.0 Sony IMX378 1/2.3″ 1.55µm sensor mounted at the back. The camera is an 80° wide-angle lens with dual tone flash, PDAF, 4K recording at 30fps, 1080p at 120fps and 720p slow motion at 120 fps. There’s a 4MP Ultrapixel camera with f/2.o aperture, 80° wide angle lens, facial recognition up front.

The Mi 5s Plus is the beast here with dual 13MP Sony cameras. One camera shoots RGB only, capturing colour details; and the other shoots monochrome images only, allowing for more light and higher contrast. Both images are then stitched together to make for a great picture with less noise and greater clarity. The camera shoots in all the formats above and adds RAW format to the list. Front camera is the same as that of the Mi 5s.

Sadly, all three phones lack optical image stabilisation.

Connectivity

Each of the phone has a slot for two nano SIM cards. They all have LTE but the difference is in the bands supported and this is a big deal as the absence of a particular band makes it a deal breaker for some buyers.

The bands supported by each device is listed below:

Le Pro 3

2G/GSM: 2/3/5/8

CDMA: BC0/BC1

3G/WCDMA: B1/2/5/8

TD-SCDMA: B34/39

EVDO: BC0/BC1

4G/FDD-LTE B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/20

TDD-LTE: B38/39/40/41

2. Xiaomi Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus

2G/GSM: 2/3/5/8

CDMA: BC0/BC1

3G/WCDMA: B1/2/5/8

EVDO: BC0/BC1

4G/FDD-LTE B1/3/5/7/*8

TDD-LTE: B38/39/40/41

*Only the Xiaomi Mi 5s is listed as having support for Band 8 (900).

There’s NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, WiFi Direct, hotspot, A-GPS and GLONASS on all three phones. The ports are also USB Type-C.

While LeEco has abandoned the 3.5 mm jack, users will still find the audio port on the Xiaomi Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus.

Battery

This is another important factor when it comes to phones. Like I mentioned above, the LeEco has the largest battery capacity (4070mAh), followed by the Mi 5s Plus (3800mAh). The Mi 5 has a 3200mAh battery which is still larger than that of some other flagships like the Samsung S7 (3000mAh) and the Moto Z (2600mAh). Just so you know, all three phones support Quick Charge 3.0.

Special Features

The highlights of the Mi 5s is its new ultrasonic fingerprint scanner (present in the Mi 5s only) and the pressure sensitive display (available in the 4GB variant of the Mi 5s only). The LeEco Pro 3 and the Mi 5s Plus both use capacitive fingerprint scanners and don’t have pressure sensitive displays but they have IR blasters like the Mi 5s.

Price

The LeEco comes in 4 versions:

Standard version 4GB + 32GB sells for $270

High End version 6GB + 64GB sells for $300

Zhang Yimou 4GB + 64GB sells for $375

Zhang Yimou 6GB + 128GB sells for $450

The Mi 5s is available in 2 variants:

3GB + 64GB sells for $300 (which doesn’t have a pressure sensitive display)

4GB + 128GB sells for $345

The Mi 5s Plus is also available in 2 variants:

4GB + 64GB sells for $345

6GB + 128GB sells for $390

Conclusion

Looking at the official price, the high-end version of the Pro 3 seems like a fair bargain for those who want more RAM and a fair storage space. But adding an extra $45 to what you already have ($300) get’s you the Mi 5s which has double it’s space but less RAM, although you get the pressure sensitive screen and a new age scanner.

The Mi 5s Plus is, however, a better deal than the 6GB Zhang Yimou edition of the Pro 3. You get dual cameras, a larger screen, same storage and RAM, and save $60 but a smaller battery. If you are however into bands, the Le Pro 3 wins in that aspect.

The Le Pro 3 gets the teardown treatment which reveals the LPDDR4 RAM that comes in 4GB or 6GB variants. The main camera is a 16 megapixels Sony IMX298 sensor with dual LED flash. There’s a 4070mAh battery that should last more than a day and charges quickly if you use the 24W Quick Charge 2.0 travel charger that comes with it.

The built-in storage is a UFS 2.0 with multiple sizes allowing buyers the option to choose what’s best for them. There is a 32GB version with 4GB of RAM, a 4GB RAM/6GB RAM + 64GB ROM model, and a 6GB RAM + 128GB edition. If you ask me, I think a phone with 256GB of storage is an overkill.

READ MORE: Xiaomi Redmi 1s Can Run Android Nougat

One reason I prefer the Le Max 2 over quite a number of phones including the OnePlus 3 is the band support. The Le Pro 3 follows the same pattern by offering just one model with multiple bands instead of the regional versions like the OnePlus 3.

The Le Pro 3 is easy to take apart. The tools you’ll need aren’t more than a screwdriver set and a little heat to melt the glue that holds the front glass in place.

<img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-99169" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Le-pro-3-teardown-1.jpg?x44794" The phone comes with the mighty Snapdragon 821 quad-core chipset, which is 10% faster than the already powerful SD820 along with 4GB / 6GB RAM options. Looks wise, the phone follows the traditional LeEco design philosophy, coming with a thin 7.5mm body which accounts for 98% metal. The back features a premium brushed metal finish and the phone has to go through 36 complex processes along with CNC machining to get to the final product.

Lucky for us, there are four color options available for the device, gold, rose gold, gray and silver. Apart from the powerful internals, the phone also features a powerful camera, sporting the Sony IMX298 sensor at the back with 16MP, 6P lens, f/2.0 aperture, sapphire lens, PDAF, HDR etc. The company has reportedly worked a lot on the night shooting mode on the device and the inbuilt algorithm is said to improve brightness, details and suppress noise.

The battery inside is pretty big, measuring 4070mAh and with 24W QC 3.0, it charges up to 50% in just half an hour. The base version of the iPhone 7 with 32GB of built-in storage sells for $649. The Research firm took apart the iPhone’s parts and also put into consideration several factors before arriving at that damning conclusion which doesn’t include the iPhone 7 Plus.

IHS first x-rayed the cost of last year’s iPhone 6s and got an estimated production cost of about $211.50 which ordinarily suggests this year’s iPhone 7 will cost more. Considering the base storage has been ramped up from 16GB to 32GB and that could have affected the production cost. Apart from that, the new chips on the iPhone 7 could also have affected the final production cost. The A10 chip is estimated by IHS to cost $26.90, then the new display cost an estimated $43 to produce as well as the cameras coming in at $19.90 per iPhone unit.

Though Apple is not keen on discussing tear-down costs, this estimated data could indicate mounting pressure on the US-based company’s profit margin, because the cost may even be more. IHS didn’t take into consideration factors like warehousing, research and development, and marketing.

The iPhone 7 even at that is considered to carry an outrageous price tag considering its specs. Reference have been made to competitively priced flagships whose specs are at par with the iPhone 7’s. The most recent is the LeEco Le Pro 3 which despite having a Snapdragon 821 chipset and a huge 4070mAh battery, starts at 1799 Yuan ($270). The Le Pro 3 pricing highlights LeEco’s negative profit pricing strategy for devices. The company makes up for this by getting more people onto the expansive LeEco Ecosystem from where it aims to make profits when users buy contents, applications and services on their platform.

The Le Pro 3 with Snapdragon 821, 6GB RAM and 64GB storage will retail at just 1999 Yuan ($300)!

There’s a cheaper model as well, the 4GB RAM + 32GB variant retails for just 1799 Yuan ($270)!

And if you want something that’s a bit more powerful, you have the special editions: 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB models.

The SD821 + 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM model retails for 2499 Yuan ($375), while the SD821 + 6GB RAM + 128GB model retails for 2999 Yuan ($450). Now, if you are wondering why these two models are costlier than its other counterparts, then it is because they are special editions with special video content. LeEco just revealed more details about these editions, called “Zhang Yimou” Edition, named after the popular Chinese Movie director. These two special editions will be themed after the upcoming movie, “Great Wall” featuring Matt Damon. Special content include exclusive behind the scene videos of the movies as well as movie themes and wallpapers along with a leather flip case and retail box based on the movie.

The Le Pro 3 will be up for reservations starting today at 5PM in China and the phone will go on sale on September 28 at 10:00 AM.

Like always, LeEco has surprised us all with the pricing of the Le Pro 3 flagship. Snapdragon 821 at just 1799 Yuan is just amazing. Even OnePlus 3 with 6GB RAM and 64GB ROM retails at 2499 Yuan, and on the other hand, the Le Pro 3 with the same memory combination retails for just 1999 Yuan ($300).

Today, the company has officially taken the wraps off the device and the phone is just as powerful as we thought it would be. The phone comes with the brand new Snapdragon 821 chipset, making it the first Chinese flagship to feature this chip along with 6GB RAM and other powerful configuration.

DESIGN:

The Le Pro 3 is made out of premium metal which accounts for 98% of the body and features brushed metal finish. The phone measures just 7.5mm in thickness! It’s really impressive that the company managed to limit the thickness to this level, as it features a large 4070mAh battery inside! When compared to competitors like Redmi Note 3 (8.2mm) and Mate 8 (7.9mm) who feature such large batteries, this is clearly a great achievement for the company.

There is the ‘Le’ logo on the front (you can see it in the image down below) with a breathing light, which is patented by the company. Further, there is no 3.5mm headphone jack on the phone, like the earlier released Le Max 2 and Le 2 models. So, you have the USB Type-C based CDLA standard.

The Le Pro 3 comes in four color options, Silver, Gray, Rose Gold and Gold.

SPECS:

As mentioned above, the Le Pro 3 features the super fast Snapdragon 821 chipset, which was announced recently by Qualcomm. This will be a slightly faster version of the already powerful Snapdragon 820 chipset and the ASUS ZenFone Deluxe Special Edition is the only other phone in the market to feature this chipset. The chip will be clocked at up to 2.35GHz and the Adreno 530 GPU inside will clock at 653MHz.

There will be four memory variants (UFS 2.0) of the Le Pro 3 and unfortunately, there is no 8GB RAM model as previous rumors stated. So, the four variants are as follows: 4GB RAM + 32GB ROM, 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM, 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM and 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM.

The event will hold in Beijing and will see the company launch their new flagship device, the LeEco Pro 3.

In the spirit of the launch, a new poster for the event has been released on weibo, and apart from reminding us of the date, LeEco has gone further by dissing Apple’s recently launched iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

The poster mocks Apple’s statement that says the iPhone 7 Plus offers an extra hour of battery life over previous models. There is also an image of a battery squashing an apple with blood splattered around on the poster.

Part of the highlights of the upcoming phone is the new battery and in a leak from yesterday, we know there will be two versions of the Le Pro 3. One will have a battery capacity of 4070 mAh, and a higher-end version will have a larger 5000 mAh battery. If we compare these two battery sizes to that of the iPhone 7 (1960 mAh) and the iPhone 7 Plus (2900 mAh), LeEco sure has the bragging rights.

The Le Pro 3 will launch with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 processor and will have two versions: a base model with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM, and a high-end version that will be the first phone to launch with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of built-in storage.

While we expect it to come with a Snapdragon 821 chip and 6GB of RAM, it seems LeEco wants to blow our minds by going full force in the RAM department.

An image posted on Baidu earlier today mentions that the Le Pro 3 will have another version with 8GB of RAM!!! Yes, you read that right. LeEco is setting the record. The 8GB version will also feature 256GB of built-in storage, most probably UFS 2.0; dual 13 megapixel cameras on the rear and a 16 megapixel shooter in front.

Remember the large battery capacity we talked about here? It’s going into the 8GB RAM version, which makes sense as that extra 2GB of RAM will need all the juice it can get. Other features are a 5.7” 2K screen with a 2.5D curve.

The 6GB version will have a 2.5D 5.5” FHD screen, 64GB of ROM, a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP front facing shooter, Snapdragon 821, and a 4070mAh battery.

Le Pro 3 Price

The image also hints at the price range for both versions of the phone. The 8GB version is said to sell for 3x99 Yuan where x can fall between 0 to 9. So depending on the number you replace x with, the phone will cost between $463 – $599. The same method applies to the 6GB RAM version which is said to cost 2x99 Yuan which is between $314 – $449.

READ MORE: Live Renders of Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Surface

Do you think the world is ready for a phone with 8GB of RAM? Do we really need better hardware or better software optimisation?

The innovative tech company revealed this via a post on China’s social networking website, Weibo, with a theme that seems to suggest that the new device would be a stunner which would change our entire perception of what a flagship phone should be. We had already gotten the wind before now that LeEco is preparing something powerful which would pop in September with top-notch specs.

According to previous rumors, the expected device is the Le Pro 3 which is expected to be the first Chinese smartphone to feature Qualcomm’s latest flagship Snapdragon 821 chipset. The Le Pro 3 is also said to pack 6GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage onboard. The flagship Le Pro 3 is also expected to feature a mammoth 5,000mAh battery, and still have a thin body touted to be just 7mm thick. The Le Pro 3 will also rock a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera.

The LeEco Le Pro 3 had earlier appeared on AnTuTu benchmark, pulling a marvelous score of 163K, which is an indication of the power that LeEco has infused on the upcoming flagship device. The score makes this look more powerful than any device we’ve seen lately.

LeEco’s CEO had earlier taken to Weibo to criticize Apple for launching a flagship iPhone 7 which lacked credible innovations that would justify the exorbitant price tag. Well, that might just have been a publicity stunt to grab some attention but it could also be that he knows what they have in the offing would sure dwarf what the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus pack. Also, so you’d know, the name of the expected device is a bit confusing as earlier rumors have revealed the phone to be called as the Le 2S Pro. So, we will have to wait and see the name the device will launch with. September 21 is the date, as always, we’ll keep you posted as more news emerge here on Gizmochina.

We have heard that LeEco could be the first Chinese smartphone maker to debut the Snapdragon 821 chipset which was announced by Qualcomm a couple of months back. Now, a new benchmark result of a smartphone called Le Pro 3 has surfaced on AnTuTu and the scores posted by this model are just amazing.

The Le Pro 3 scores over 163K points on the AnTuTu benchmark, 163546 to be exact, making it much more powerful than any other smartphone that we have seen lately. This score is made possible thanks to the power packed specs which include Snapdragon 821 chipset, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Even the camera specs were revealed, a 16MP shooter at the back and an 8MP shooter up front. Clearly, one of the best specs we have seen on a phone.

LeEco has always surprised us with powerful phones which are priced aggressively, so even this particular model, the Le Pro 3 could feature a decent price. The name used for this model is a bit confusing as earlier rumors have revealed the phone to be called as the Le 2S Pro. So, we will have to wait and see what’s the final name of the device once released by the company in September.

So, what do you think? With these specs on board, how much would you be willing to pay for this device?
