Xiaomi’s Mi Max 3 (not Pro) gets certified in Taiwan

Although there is no launch date yet, the Mi Max 3 will likely be heading to Taiwan after launching in Mainland China. Proof comes from the device’ sighting at Taiwan’s NCC.

The listing reveals the model number of the Taiwanese version is M1804E4A which is the same as one of the models that surfaced on TENAA a few weeks ago.

While some sites have reported that this is the Mi Max 3 Pro, the TENAA specs prove otherwise. This model is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core chipset which is definitely not the rumored Snapdragon 710 powering the Mi Max 3 Pro. The SD710 is clocked at 2.2GHz and the TENAA listing for the MI 8 SE shows that.

Honor 10 GT, the First 8 GB RAM Huawei Phone Launched

Today, Huawei has introduced the Honor 10 GT as its first smartphone with 8 GB of RAM as enhanced edition of the Honor 10 that was introduced in April this year. Also, the Honor 10 GT features GPU Turbo (GT) technology that significantly improves the graphics performance of the smartphone.

Honor 10 GT
In June, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor had introduced Honor Play with GPU Turbo feature. The latter is a software and hardware optimized graphics acceleration technology that enhances the graphics performance of a smartphone by 60 percent and at the same time it consumes 30 percent less power. Huawei is in the process of making it available to several Huawei and Honor phones through a software update.

Smartphones with GPU Turbo technology can run games like King of Glory and QQ Speed with full frame rate. The single-thread performance of a GPU Turbo enabled mid-range phone can beat the performance of multi-thread performance of some flagship phones.

Honor 10 GT Power Consumption

The power saving feature on the Honor 10 GT ensures that its power consumption during 8 hours of standby is only 2 to 3 percent. Apart from the powerful GPU Turbo technology, the Honor 10 GT comes with 8 GB of RAM for bolstering its performance.

Honor 10 GT 8 GB RAM

Huawei had introduced Super Night Scene mode on the Mate 10 for capturing beautiful night shots by using a tripod. The Huawei P20 and P20 Pro that were unveiled earlier this year came with AI smart anti-shake technology enabled Super Night Scene mode for shooting night shots without a tripod. The same camera feature will be brought to Honor 10 GT through a beta update from July 12.

Honor 10 GT Camera

The Honor 10 GT borrows all the other specs from the regular version of Honor 10. Hence, the Honor 10 GT features a notched IPS LCD display of 5.84 inches that carries support for 19:9 aspect ratio and 2280 x 1080 pixels FHD+ resolution. The Kirin 970 is the driving force of the phone. The native storage of the phone is not known, but it seems that it could be featuring 128 GB of inbuilt storage.

For photography, it features 24-megapixel + 16-megapixel dual camera unit on its back. Its front-facing camera is of 24-megapixel. Below the screen of the phone is a fingerprint scanner enabled capacitive home button. It is running on EMUI 8.1 flavored Android 8.1 Oreo OS.

Next Apple iPhone won’t have any Motorized parts, says analyst

In order to shave the bezels off their flagships, Oppo and Vivo came up with an incredibly innovative solution with their latest devices. But according to the known and respected analyst Horace Dediu, in an interview with Express.co.uk, the upcoming 2018 iPhone by Apple will not follow the new bandwagon. The flagships we are talking about are the new Vivo NEX and Oppo Find X. The first has a motorized front camera with an 8 MP resolution, while the second has a motorized part which reveals both the front camera and the dual rear cameras.

Vivo Nex

On the Oppo Find X, it is even mandatory to activate the motorized part in order to unlock the device without entering a password, as it does not feature a fingerprint scanner and it relies only on 3D facial recognition for authentication. According to the analyst, Apple iPhone will not adopt a similar solution and it will not have any motorized part. But the phone should still feature narrower bezels than the iPhone X. One of the reason because of Apple will not opt for motorized parts is the waterproof certification, as implementing such a technology would make impossible for its handsets to be waterproof.

Further, the analyst thinks that the future iPhones will ditch even the Lightning port. In such a case, wireless charging would be the only option for charging batteries and it will not be possible to use wired headphones anymore. Apple will release its next iPhones in September and the new line-up will be composed of three devices. The first will be the successor of the iPhone X with a 5.8-inch display, the second will have a 6.1-inch screen and the third will sport a 6.5-inch display. One of them has already appeared on Geekbench with a new SoC inside, 4 GB of RAM and iOS 12 installed.

Upcoming iPhones fast charger leaks with USB-C port

The upcoming line-up of iPhones which will be unveiled by Apple in September is tipped to come bundled with a fast charger out of the box. Or at least that is what a new leak is suggesting. The leak contains the photos of a brand new 18W charger by Apple which will connect to a Lightning to USB Type-C cable in order to charge the upcoming devices. Its size is in the middle between the actual 5W iPhones charger and the 10W iPad chargers.

The new charger supports input parameters of 100-240V 50/60 Hz 0.45A and the output parameters 5V/3A and 9V/2A, according to leaked info. Unfortunately, we can not guarantee you the authenticity of this leak. This goes totally in contrast with recent reports suggesting that the upcoming iPhones would come without a Lightning port and it would be possible to charge them only by using a wireless charger.

In case you don’t know, the latest line-up of Apple phones already supports fast charging, but the charger contained in the box does not. So, it is necessary to purchase an additional charger costing $50 to use the fast charging profile. With the new fast charger, it should be possible to charge the device from 0 to 50 percent in just 30 minutes.
