You shouldn’t bother about catching a glimpse of the launch event first hand as you can do that online. While we thought we had seen all that the OP 5T has to offer via leaked videos and photos, OnePlus released a video earlier today which captured the exhilarating reactions of four people who were seeing the OnePlus 5T in real life for the first time. We assume the reactions are genuine and not stage-managed. If that be the case, the video suggests the full-view display design will be more captivating than what we’ve seen via leaked renders and photos. OnePlus kept the photo of the device pixelated in the entire video, thus keeping us wondering what the device actually looks like in real life. OnePlus will be launching the OnePlus 5T later today in New York in a ticketed event that is already sold out as at a couple of days back. The OP5T is expected to come with a full-screen design and even though we have seen a number of leaked photos and unboxing videos around, the real thing is still officially unknown. Now, OnePlus has released a YouTube video that calls to question the leaked OP 5T unboxing videos and photos we’ve seen already.

The YouTube video shows the reactions of four people who are meeting the OnePlus 5T for the first time. The reactions are those of pure surprise, well it looks pure but we don’t know about the genuineness. Either way, they all expressed surprised at the screen size and beautifully designed smartphone that was flashed before them, perhaps without any pre-information. One of them even mentioned, obviously pun intended, that this is the kind of smartphone that he wouldn’t mind selling one of his kidneys to buy. If you already hurriedly scrolled down to watch the video in a bid to catch a glimpse of the smartphone, you’ll be disappointed because the phone was pixelated in the video.

Not to worry, though, in a few hours time from now, the much anticipated OnePlus 5T would be unveiled and we’ll get to see what OnePlus has to offer. Then we’ll know if it’ll be a stunner or yet another disappointment for those who consider the OnePlus 5 to be below expectation. Xiaomi has made yet another milestone in its bid to expand its market base out of China. The company has opened in Russia what it says is the world’s first Mi Store that would run for 24 hours, all seven days of the week. Xiaomi had made its entry into the Russian market back in April with the launch of three of its smartphones – Mi Mix, Mi Note 2 and Redmi 4x. The initial launch in Russia was done six months after it entered into a sole distributor partnership with distributor RDC.

RDC operates six Mi Authorized Reseller Stores in the country but now, Xiaomi has taken the initiative to open a brand new authorized Mi Store in Moscow. The new store would be the first 24/7 Authorized Mi Store worldwide!

That isn’t all, the tech giant also unveiled the Mi Mix 2 for the Russian market along with some exciting Mi Ecosystem products like the Mi 4K Action Camera, Mi Bedside Lamp, and the Mi Smart Weighing Scale! The Mi Mix 2 is available in 6GB RAM + 64GB memory version and comes with a price tag of 34,990 Rubles (~$580). The Mi Bedside lamp is priced at 3590 Rubles (~$60), the Xiaomi Action Camera for 8990 Rubles (~$150) and the Mi Weighing scale goes for 2490 Rubles (~$41). Nokia Steel HR Pre-orders Begin, Shipping Begins Next Month

The Withings Steel HR smartwatch was launched last year. Now that Withings is acquired by Nokia Health, the Steel HR has been relaunched as a Nokia device. Nokia Health has confirmed on its Twitter handle that it is now receiving pre-orders of the Nokia Steel HR. The company has also stated that the shipments of the pre-ordered units will begin in the next month.

The Nokia Steel HR is a hybrid device that looks like an analogue watch but possesses capabilities of a smartwatch. It is equipped with a heart rate tracker and it features a small digital screen inside its round dial that displays all the notifications and health data.

The Steel HR can track various kinds of activities like walking, running, swimming, sleeping and more. Compared to the original Steel HR, its “new” edition by Nokia Health features a sapphire glass for shielding the heart rate sensor in order to deliver water resistance of up to 50 meters.

Nokia has also brought some software improvements to the Steel HR like enhanced algorithm for accurately measuring heart rate. The Nokia Steel HR promises a battery life of up to 25 days which is impressive compared to the other smartwatches like Apple Watch and timepieces running on Android Wear 2.0.

Smartisan stunned the tech industry last week when it launched the Snapdragon 660-powered Nut Pro 2 premium mid-range smartphone with a rather cheap price tag. The Smartisan Nut Pro 2 has already been shown in a series of hands-on photos that showcase the outward beauty. Also, we have seen the camera samples of the model which points at a great camera setup. Now, the Nut Pro 2 has been given the teardown treatment, showing the entire design of the internals.

Disassemble photos or videos are not intended to be repair guides even though it can be used to grab an idea of how to open the smartphone in a bid to change a faulty battery or other parts. The Nut Pro 2 like most smartphones come with a non-removable battery and thus, the glass panel at the back is sealed with glue. The service of a heat gun is employed to slightly soften the gum, thereafter a suction cup is used to separate the glass back from the metal fuselage and then you can separate all parts using a pry tool. The info about Doogee’s upcoming smartphone was revealed on Twitter by Evan Blass (@evleaks). In his tweet, he said the unnamed Doogee phone will launch next year.

However, the device won’t stop at a curved display. It will also have an 18.5:9 aspect ratio, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. There is no word on the chipset of choice, camera configuration, and battery capacity. One can only hope the rest of the specifications are equally impressive.

In the previous month, well-known tipster Evan Blass had shared small-sized images of some of the Alcatel smartphones that will be launching in 2018. Now, the leakster has shared “decent sized” renders of the upcoming Alcatel 1x, 3c, 3, 3x, 3v and 5.

Among the above devices, the Alcatel 1x seems to be a low-end smartphone as it does not seem to feature a fingerprint reader. Alcatel 3 seems has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The Alcatel 3c has a glossy back panel that features a rear-facing fingerprint sensor and a speaker grille.

The Alcatel 3x and 3v are fitted with dual rear cameras and rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The 3x phone seems to feature slimmer bezels and dual front cameras. The last one is the Alcatel 5 which seems to be a top-tier phone. It appears to feature an 18:9 display, a metallic body, a front-facing LED flash for the selfie camera and a single rear camera.

As of this writing, there is no information available on the specifications of the aforementioned Alcatel phones. Rumors suggest that Alcatel will not be releasing IDOL branded phones in the next year.

The new Alcatel phones revealed by Blass are speculated to replace the IDOL lineup. It is likely that the new phones from the company may get announced in January 2018 at Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

Gionee M7 Power With 5,000mAh Battery Launched In India At Rs. 16,999

As expected, Gionee has today launched Gionee M7 Power — the company’s first bezel-less smartphone in the Indian market. The smartphone was initially launched in China along with M7, and was also rolled out to Thailand. In some regions, the device is also known as Steel 2 Plus.

The company says that the metal body smartphone comes with a “diamond like-lustre which shows different shades under different lights and at different angles.”

The Gionee M7 Power comes with a 6-inch FullView HD+ IPS display with screen resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage.

There is also a microSD card slot, enabling users to expand the phone’s storage capacity up to 256GB. As of the camera, it sports a 13-megapixel rear camera sensor with an LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, and PDAF. There is also an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture for clicking selfies. The back camera also forms a three dimensional dynamic picture of on object, thus can shoot 3D Photos.

It runs on Amigo OS 5.0 which is based on Android 7.1 Nougat operating system. There is no information regarding the Android 8.0 Oreo update. The device also comes with a fingerprint scanner placed on the back panel. The highlight of the M7 Power is its massive 5,000mAh battery which as per the company, can power the phone for up to two days on a single charge. It also supports fast charging. Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS/ A-GPS.

In India, the Gionee M7 Power has been priced at Rs. 16,999. It will go on sale across Amazon India and all major retail stores from November 25 onward. The smartphone will be made available in three color options — Blue, Black and Gold.

There are several offers on the purchase of the phone. Those who purchase the smartphone will also get 100GB additional 4G data through Reliance Jio — 10GB additional data on recharge of Rs. 309 or above for 10 recharges till September 2018. There’s also additional exchange discount of Rs. 3,000 as well as no-cost EMIs option.

Gionee is also expected to launch eight bezel-less smartphones at a launch event that is scheduled to take place in Shenzhen, China on November 26. The company could launch Gionee F6L, F205, and M2018 along with other smartphones.

Huawei Rolls Out Android Oreo-Based EMUI 8.0 Closed Beta Program For P10 & P10 Plus

Huawei announced its new EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo during the launch of the Mate 10 series last month. As a result of the new Custom ROM, Huawei is set to upgrade older models to the new version and one of the models to get the upgrade is the P10. The Huawei P10 was the first flagship model that was launched at MWC earlier this year, along with the P10 Plus.

Huawei has now launched the Android Oreo-based EMUI 8 Closed Beta upgrade for the Huawei P10 and its sibling, the P10 Plus. Registration for the Closed Beta program for the P10 and P10 Plus will run from November 14 – November 16 and applicants would need to sign up using an account number and the serial number of their mobile phone.

This isn’t the first Closed Beta that Huawei would be launching, though, as the Mate 9 series, as well as the Honor V9, had earlier seen recruitment for EMUI 8 closed beta. With this development, we believe more models would get upgrade programs soon. However, a full upgrade package for the Stable ROM may not be available until early next year.

It would be recalled that the Mate 10 series launched with a new Kirin 970 chipset which came with Artificial Intelligence features. The interface also offers artificial intelligence but due to hardware differences, some older models may not have this feature enabled on the new EMUI 8.0 ROM ut all other features of the new interface not dependent on specific hardware requirement would be available to users.

Vivo V7 is Official with 24-Megapixel Selfie Camera, 5.7-inch FullView Display

In September, Vivo had unveiled the Vivo V7+, but the Vivo V7 was not introduced alongside it. Today, the company has officially unveiled the Vivo V7 in Indonesia. The smartphone is also scheduled to debut in India on Nov. 20.

The outstanding feature of the Vivo V7 is its f/2.0 aperture 24-megapixel front-facing camera. It is equipped with a “selfie softlight” flash. Through Face Beauty 7.0, the Vivo uses its own algorithms to capture richer and beautiful looking selfies. Face Beauty can also enrich video calls on apps like WhatsApp, Line, Facebook Messenger, Zalo, and Viber Messenger. The Portrait Mode feature can shoot amazing selfies with bokeh effect.

The backside of the Vivo V7 has an f/2.0 aperture 16-megapixel camera. It is equipped with features like PDAF and single-LED flash. It also possesses the ability to shoot 64-megapixel Ultra HD images by stitching multiple images.

The Vivo V7 features a 5.7-inch FullView IPS LCD display that offers an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. It delivers an aspect ratio of 18:9. The smartphone produces an excellent viewing space as it offers a screen-to-body ratio of 83.6 percent.

The Snapdragon 450 chipset that powers the V7+ also fuels the newly unveiled V7 phone along with 4 GB of RAM. It includes a 3,000mAh battery that lacks support for fast charging. It has an inbuilt storage of 32 GB and it has a dedicated slot for adding a micro SD card. The connectivity features of the Vivo V7 include 3.5mm audio jack, microUSB, Wi-Fi, v4.2 Bluetooth, USB OTG, GPS and GLONASS. The rear panel of the phone features a fingerprint reader.

The handset is preinstalled with Android 7.1 Nougat that is overlaid with FunTouch OS 3.2 which brings features like Face Access for unlocking the phone with face scan, Smart Split 3.0 for running two simultaneously on the same screen, and App Clone that allow users to access two accounts on social media apps like WhatsApp, BBM, WeChat, Zalo and Viber. The handset does not feature the AK4376A Hi-Fi audio chip found on the V7+.

OnePlus 5T Star Wars Limited Edition Could be in Works

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is slated to release on Dec. 15. Fresh information suggests that OnePlus may release a special edition version of OnePlus 5T in celebration of the upcoming Star Wars movie.

A news report on XDA Developers that has been taken down for unknown reason stated that an anonymous reader found plenty of references for Star Wars in the OnePlus 5 Android Oreo closed beta build. After digging more into it, it was found that there could be a special edition of the forthcoming OnePlus 5T.

It was discovered that the OxygenOS seems to be tied to the theme of the movie as there is a reference to the color accent of Star Wars in the code finds. The string “accent_star_wars” was found in APKs for Launcher, Settings and System UI. The hex code for the accent color is #ff2837 which is similar to the dark red color that can be found on the posters of the forthcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Hence, the speculated limited edition of OnePlus 5T may sport the same color on its exterior.

OnePlus has previously released special edition smartphones like the OnePlus 3T Colette edition and Midnight Black variant for 3T. In September, the Chinese firm had also released OnePlus 5 JCC+ edition. Hence, it is likely that the Chinese firm could be prepping a special version of the OnePlus 5T to promote the new Star Wars movie.

OnePlus 5T will be officially announced on Thursday. The Chinese firm is unlikely to announce the rumored Star Wars edition of the OnePlus 5T at its launch event. The limited edition variant may get unveiled around the release date of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Honor V10 is an upcoming flagship phone that is slated to get announced on Dec. 5 in London, U.K. An official launch invitation that has been shared on Honor’s Weibo account reveals that the company would be debuting the Honor V10 in Beijing, China on Nov. 28 before introducing it in London.

The above launch invitation shows that the Honor V10 will not only feature dual cameras but also it will be enabled with AI capabilities. Previous reports have revealed that the 16-megapixel + 20-megapixel dual camera setup arriving on V10 will not have Leica branding.

Honor CEO Zhao Ming has recently confirmed that the Honor V10 will be powered by Kirin 970 and it will be running on EMUI 8.0 flavored Android 8.0 Oreo. The Kirin 970 that features a dedicated NPU unit for handling AI is the same chipset that powers the Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro.

The Honor V10 is rumored to feature a 6-inch display by BOE. The screen is expected to deliver an aspect ratio of 18:9. The Mate 10 Pro also features an 18:9 aspect ratio supporting 6-inch display. Since the smartphone will be coming with a full screen design, the fingerprint scanner will be placed on its rear side.

It is expected to arrive in variants such as 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage. Like the Mate 10 Pro, the Honor V10 is also speculated to house a 4,000mAh battery that will carry support for 22.5W rapid charging.

Since the Honor V10 borrows a lot of features from the Mate 10 Pro, it is expected to arrive as a toned-down version of the Mate 10 Pro. However, it is yet to be confirmed whether it will be featuring a 3.5mm headphone jack or IP67 resistance. The Mate 9 Pro came with a metallic body, but the Mate 10 Pro that features a full screen deign is equipped with a glass + metal chassis. Since Honor’s “V” series phones have also always featured metallic body, the V10 may not feature a glass and metal combination chassis.

Motorola Launches $200 Polaroid Insta-Share Printer Moto Mod

Motorola has shown commitment to its take on modularity by regularly releasing new Moto Mods for the Moto Z series. Its latest moto mod is the Polaroid Insta-share Printer.

Just like the name says, the mod turns your phone into a Polaroid camera, letting you instantly print pictures you take or have on your phone instantly. You can even add filters and frames to your pictures and even print from Facebook, Instagram, and Google Photos.

Think of this as a portable version of Fujifilm’s Instax series. The Polaroid Insta-Share Printer mod uses Zink™ Zero-Ink™ Paper for printing 2 x 3” photos. It requires no ink and can be stuck on any surface.

Using the mod is easy. Just flip the back of the Mod open like in the image below and load it with the Zero-Ink (ZINK) paper. Select a photo from your phone or take a new picture by pressing the physical capture button on the Mod. Print it, peel off the adhesive tape and stick on any surface.

The Polaroid Insta-Share Printer Mod has a 500mAh battery that should last for up to 20 prints. It weighs 188g and recharges via USB-C. The Mod can hold up to 10 sheets of printing paper (1 pack) at a time. Since this is a Mod made in collaboration with Polaroid, you can order Polaroid’s 2 x 3 inch ZINK paper to restock from stores like Amazon.

Meizu Has No Plans To Enter US Right Now, Instead Aiming At Other Markets

The FCC listing of what could be the Meizu M6 Note sparked rumors that Meizu was aiming to enter the US market soon. However, Meizu’s Head of Global Marketing, Ard Boudeling, clarified to Androidauthority that Meizu had no plans to enter the US market with smartphones, at least not right now. He did add that the FCC certification of the phone was required for its entry into other American markets, which is a good indication that the company is all set to enter other markets nearby.

The M6 Note is one of the best budget dual camera mid-rangers in China right now and its entry into newer markets in America could give the boost it deserves. In fact, Meizu has confirmed the launch of the M6 Note in one more market — India, soon. The phone checks almost all the features that you would expect in a budget smartphone, including a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 4000mAh battery, Snapdragon 625 chip, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

In China, the phone starts at around $165 for the 3+16GB variant and goes up to $255 for the 4+64GB version. Expect the prices to be slightly higher than these figures when it’s launched in other markets.
