It seems that Vivo, the manufacturer of the thinnest device in the world, has something more to offer for the consumer and it has something upgraded in its portfolio. This time around we can see an upgrade to the Vivo X5.
The newly upgraded version, which has a model name of X5s, continues the series of ultra-thin design, which has the thickness of only 6.3mm. Also, in has an alloy shell whereas the back still has the iconic three-stage design. In addition, the device will come in two colour options, which will include gold and white.
As far as hardware is concerned, the vivo X5S carries a new chip inside, which is 64-bit octa-core MT6752 and is said to be more powerful than MT6592. What is more, the phone supports 4G / 3G / GSM networks and it has a combination of dual SIM card slots (dual-card standby or SIM card + TF card).
Screen, memory, camera and other specifications remain unchanged as vivo X5S is equipped with a full 5 inches 720P screen, 2G of Ram, 16G of storage. In addition, it has combo of 5mp and 13mp camera, 2250 mAh battery, support of gyroscope, electronic compass, other sensors and OTG.
As usual to Vivo, device’s biggest highlight is the HIFI audio equipment. The smartphone carries a CS4398 DAC, which enhances the sound quality, as well as Yamaha YSS205 professional signal processing chips and KTV VOD system.
As far as pricing goes, the device will not be cheap. It will cost 2998 yuan in China and it will go on sale on January 13th.

Xiaomi has been on the rumour mill lately as it may release some new devices on January 15th. One of these devices may be the long awaited Mi5, the successor of the Mi4.
The Xiaomi devices have been known to offer pretty good cameras and we expect the Mi5 to be even better to compete to the top of the line flagship devices. The future upcoming device is rumoured to have a 13mp sensor (most likely made by Sony).
This time around we have some fresh photo samples, which were allegedly taken using the Xiaomi Mi5. Let’s take a look.
These pictures are said to be leaked by the Xiaomi’s co-founder. All of the above pictures carry the Xiami Mi5 name in the EXIF information, which leads us to believe that it may be a real deal. In addition, these pictures were taken on December 7th and December 11, with a resolution of 4208×3120, which makes us think that Xiaomi’s Mi5 will retain the 13mp camera.
What is more, the pics were taken in the daylight and so far we can say that colours and detail level is quite good, the macro performance is quite good as well. Since we do not have any night photos, we cannot say how the device handles the noise during complicated shooting scenarios.
According to some other news, Xiami Mi5 will be available in two colors, front and back will be made of glass materials, it will spot a 5.2-inch screen with 2.5D glass, the frame will be made of aluminium alloy, the back shell will have a certain arc .
Besides great camera, the previous rumours suggest that the device is said to offer a great pack of the specs, which include Snapdragon 805 chip, 3 or even 4 GB of Ram, 16/64 GB of storage, 5.5 inches display, which is said to have 2k resolution, 4 G LTE and other great features.
It is 2015 and we can expect many cell phone companies around the world to start making their first releases of the year. For example, there is Xiaomi which will launch the follow-up to its Red Mi cell phone, the Xiaomi Red Mi note2, on January 15.
It also looks like OPPO will be busy the day before Xiaomi’s big day. Today, the company released a new poster on its official Weibo account, once again, confirming that it will release its first smart phone of the year on January 14. This will most likely be the OPPO R8207, otherwise known as the OPPO R1C 4G smart phone.
In addition, new photos of OPPO’s upcoming smart phone have been leaked on the internet. The biggest feature of the OPPO R1C appears to be that its back will sport a sapphire glass panel, which looks nicer than the OPPO R5’s glass panel. In addition, reports say that the OPPO R1C specifications will not be that different from many other phones that are out right now. It will sport a 5-inch 720p display screen. It will also run using the 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor. As for memory, it has 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM which can be increased to 128GB with a memory card. It also sports a 5mp front-facing camera and 13mp rear-facing camera.
The idea of a “bezel-less” phone is becoming popular in the industry. The closest that anyone has gotten to this is Sharp with its Aquos Crystal, which is said to have an “almost zero” bezel count. LG has also developed an LCD panel with a bezel that is just 0.7mm thick.
Another company that is getting into the bezel-free craze is Chinese cell phone manufacturer EBest. Although there has not been much publicity surrounding this company on the internet, it has produced some remarkable phones. This year, they plan to launch the EBest Jiguang cell phone as well as another version called the EBest Jiguang Plus. Not only does the EBest Jiguang Plus have a bigger display screen, it will have an almost bezel-free design.
Official reports say that the EBest Jiguang Plus has a bezel that is only about 1.08mm thick. It also has a screen-to-body ratio of about 85%. Its total thickness is about 6.9mm. It uses a 5.5-inch 1080p HD display screen. As a result, we can guess that if EBest wants to create an screen panel this thin, the Jiguang Plus’ width has to be about the same as the Sharp Aquos Crystal’s.
The Ebest Jiguang Plus’ specifications are pretty much the same as many other cell phones out right now. It uses the 64-bit MTK MT6752 octa-core CPU processor, which was first introduced last year, and has 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM. It also has impressive camera specifications, sporting both a 13mp rear-facing camera and 13mp front-facing camera. It also supports photography by voice command as well as other features that can you help you take great photos. This phone also has support for 4G internet as well as dual-SIM. One of its features also lets you unlock it by voice command.
When there are no improvements done on a phone’s apps and features, there is not really any point in using a processor with so many cores. Qualcomm has said this in regards to why they do not use more cores.
So far, the company that has gone the farthest in developing multi-core cell phone processors is MediaTek. Although Samsung and Qualcomm have produced octa-core processors, none have been able to produce as much as MediaTek. Now, reports say that MediaTek is planning to go even further by releasing a processor with 10 or maybe even 12 cores.
An insider in the cell phone industry revealed that MediaTek is currently coming up with a groundbreaking processor with more than 8 cores. It may have up to 10 and even 12 cores. If things go smoothly, we can expect to see this new multi-core processor in 2015. It will be another great achievement from the Chinese cell phone CPU company. So the question is, is the cell phone world ready for a 10-core or 12-core CPU processor? We will find out soon enough.
MediaTek, or MTK, is a pretty popular cell phone CPU manufacturer in the Chinese mobile phone industry. A lot of companies use their processors. Last year, the company released a series of 64-bit cell phone chips including the MT6795. It was recently reported by the Taiwanese press that HTC will be the first cell phone company to use this processor for its upcoming cell phone, the HTC Hima M9. The MT6795 is a 64-bit octa-core processor with a frequency of 2.2GHz. The Jiayu S3, released last year, also uses a 64-bit processor from MediaTek. This one is called the MTK MT6752 octa-core processor.
Which of these companies will be the first to use a 10-core processor from MediaTek? We’ll find out soon.
Usually when you go out to buy a new handset in the market, there are a certain list of features that you expect your new phone to come with. Unfortunately, if you are not having a big budget, most of the times, you will have to cut back on some of these wanted features.
However, now you don’t have to! The Ulefone Be Pro smartphone probably checks out all of the features in your list. It comes with the latest Mediatek MT6732 64-bit quad-core processor, which is twice as fast the old MT6582. Even today, many phones come with this old MT6582 processor, but Ulefone has made sure that you have an edge over these other budget mid-range phones with its new Be Pro. Moreover, the graphic performance on this phone will be good thanks to the 16-core Mali-T760 GPU.

You just have to mention the required language while purchasing the device to GearBest.

We are flooded with a number of new announcements this week from well known as well as small manufacturers at CES 2015. At the event, Omate, the relatively new company expanded its smartwatch range with two new watches. Today, we’ll compare the cheapest watch of the two, the Omate Racer which will reportedly be available to pre-order for $100 till January 15 (after which the price will increase to $130). So we decided to compare this new offering with another cheap smartwatch from China, the No.1 G2 that has managed to attract a few customers.
Remember that this is just a basic comparison to see what are the main differences between the two models. Only after the Omate Racer is available in the market, we can decide for sure which one comes out as the best among the two. So, at present we will compare both the models in two important categories with the limited information available — Design and Features.
No.1 G2 vs Omate Racer : DESIGN
No.1 G2
Omate Racer
From the first look, both the device seem to have a very solid design with a sturdy build quality. While Omate Racer goes for a rugged sporty look, the No.1 G2 relies on a more traditional refined look with a smooth finish. The company did not mention whether the Racer had a metal built, but from the pictures it looks more of a plastic body. On the other hand, the G2 comes with a metal body which gives it a very premium look. The No.1 smartwatch takes its design inspiration from Samsung’s Gear smartwatch and from our hands on, we were impressed with the built quality it brought to the sub $100 smartwatch category.
As for the Racer, we like that it is round and sports a more traditional watch look. It would easily blend in with your attire, especially if you go outdoors for adventure sports. On the other hand, the G2 will stand out on your wrist and people will definitely notice its brushed metal finish. So, even though we love round smartwatches, we would still go with the No.1 G2 in this category for its premium looks.
No.1 G2 vs Omate Racer : FEATURES
Now, we take a look at the features that both these smartwatches bring to the table. Unsurprisingly, they are almost the same. Both the models run on Mediatek’s MT2502 Aster chipset which has now become a standard among affordable wearables. The chipset is powerful enough to run basic applications and perform tasks with ease.
The G2 and the Racer are specifically designed with smartphone notifications in mind. You can link a number of apps on board which will deliver notifications right on your smartwatch without actually having to download and install those apps separately on the device. You can also control media playback, manage your fitness regime as well as set up alarms on the device.
However, the No.1 G2 has a slight edge over the Racer. It comes with a camera too which as seen in our review clicks decent pictures. Moreover, the watch also features a heart rate sensor, which is not available on the Omate Racer. Another major difference is the display protection on the devices. The G2 comes with one of the best glass protections available in the market — Sapphire Glass while we still don’t know what kind of protection the Racer uses. But it is safe to assume that its not Sapphire glass.
Both the models have skipped Android Wear for their own software. No.1 features a very basic interface with apps for every task. The same goes with the Omate Racer. These smartwatch connects to both Android and iOS smartphones via Bluetooth 4.0 connection.
There are a lot of other features that we still have to compare like the battery life, display size, water resistance and other features, but for that we would have to wait till the full tech specs of the Omate Racer is revealed. But for now, the No.1 G2 seems to be the better smartwatch in this comparison. The well built metal design + Sapphire Glass protection + traditional smartwatch features make it a great buy at $77 (after coupon). In fact, check out our review for full details about the features and the tech specs of the No.1 G2.
So which smartwatch did you like and which one would you buy?
ViewSonic is not a know manufacturer in the smartphone industry, however the company is slowly trying to get into the market with unique products. A few weeks back we saw the ViewSonic V55, which was reportedly going to be the world’s first smartphone with Iris recognition technology. Now, another smartphone from this company called the ViewSonic ViewPad 69Q has been spotted online with a massive 7-inch display.
Its unusual 7-inch display makes it kind of a smartphone and tablet hybrid. The ViewSonic 69Q is said to come with a 1024 x 600 resolution display. As for the other tech specs, the source reveals a quad core processors clocked at 1.3GHz (possibly MT6582 or MT8382) with 1GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt memory which can be expanded via MicroSD and Android 4. KitKat operating system. It supports WCDMA / GSM dual SIM cards.
The phone has the power and the volume buttons on the right side and comes with a leather back finish. It has a silver and white color scheme, which kind of looks good.
ViewSonic already has the dual-core variant of the phone on its official website for 699 Yuan which comes to just $112. So, this quad-core variant should retail for a bit more, somewhere around $130 when it is officially announced by the company.
Anyways, its massive screen size would be a big let down for many, but for a few, it might just be perfect.
According to a weibo post of Meizu’s senior manager Zhang Heng, Meizu will announce its new products on January 27. The chart that appeared with words “lucky three” gave the evidence that it will be three products.
Now, the latest sources show that the three new products that are going to be launched this January are Meizu Blue Charm M1 Note CDMA edition, Meizu router as well as Blue Charm 5-inch Meizu phone.
As you can see, all the three devices are expected to targeted at the mid-range segment which means Meizu is all set to compete with the two launches that Xiaomi has confirmed today. However, judging from the features and the design, the upcoming Xiaomi flagship, possibly the Redmi Note 2 looks like a much premium device than any other mid-range offerings that we have seen recently. As a result, it would be interesting to see how Meizu’s M1 Note as well as the 5-inch phone competes with this device. There’s another phone/ device which will be announced at the 15 January event, but we don’t know what it will be. We’ll have to wait for more teasers from the company or for the final event to finally unravel this mystery.
Anyways, it looks like Meizu and Xiaomi are going to dominate the first month of 2015. We hope they are priced aggressively in the market.
Yesterday, we were the first ones to report that Xiaomi was launching the new Redmi Note 2 on January and not the Xiaomi Mi5 as earlier predicted. Looks like the company has finally confirmed our report today by releasing a new teaser image with a puzzle piece that needs to be deciphered to get to know all the features of the upcoming flagship phone.
It took some time to decipher the puzzle completely but once you are done, you’ll get to know more about the Redmi Note 2. If you want to try to decipher the puzzle, below is the image released by the company. Try out your luck. It’s not very hard.
The image reveals a set of features about the device as well as confirms its the new Redmi Note. Overall, the image says that “our new flagship is the redmi note, thinner, larger, lighter, faster, hifi-sound, and all glass laminate”
This finally clears up any confusion we had about the new flagship device. Also, these features are in line with the other teasers that the company had released a few days back. It really looks like the upcoming Redmi Note 2 is going to be an interesting device.
While the company has confirmed the glass finish, it hasn’t yet said anything about the curved rear glass that we saw in a few pictures yesterday. But given that the device and its features are more or less similar to what Xiaomi describes its new phone to be, we are quite certain that the curved glass back will end up on the new Redmi Note 2 that will be showcased at the 15 January 2015 event.
The company also released another image with two hands that look like there are holding two devices. The image says that a ‘double blessing has descended on the house’. So, Xiaomi could be trying to say that there will be two launches on Jan 15. The other device could be the 5.2-inch model that was leaked earlier, but we can’t be sure of that right now.
Also, Xiaomi could unveil a brand new device itself at the event like the rumored Xiaomi TV. But once again, we can’t really confirm that until Xiaomi releases something more conclusive. So, for now, we know that there will be atleast two devices at the event, possibly two phones out of which one will be the new Redmi Note 2 flagship.
We earlier reported that upcoming Xiaomi flagship, the Redmi Note 2 will feature the world’s first curved glass body. Now, just a few hours later, we have two new images which show off this body.
The images reveal a similar form factor as the earlier leaks hinted. So, it does look like an enlarged version of the Xiaomi Mi4. Coming to the interesting part, if you look closely enough, you can see that the back cover curves at the sides. The body curved towards both the sides of the device, confirming the earlier leak which claimed a curved glass body on the Redmi Note 2. Finally, the leak also said that the back side will have gorilla glass protection.
There are three capacitive buttons, menu, home and back below the display. At the back, the camera and the LED flash lies on the top left corner while the ‘Mi’ logo lies at the bottom of the rear curved panel. The speaker grill and the microUSB port is located at the bottom and the SIM card slot on the right side. The phone has a full black glass finish which looks quite premium and polished.
Like we said earlier, overall the phone comes out as a great device. We are not explaining much in this article as we have already covered all that in our previous post. Check out that post to get full details about the specs, pricing and more images of the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 flagship.

Looks like we have been guessing everything wrong all this time!
All the leaks that we saw till now claiming to be the next Xiaomi flagship was right, BUT, it was not the Xiaomi Mi5 as we expected. Surprised? Yes, we were too, but looks like all the previous leaks and rumors that we saw in the past one month was of another Xiaomi flagship!
Now, if its not the Xiaomi Mi5, then which flagship are we talking about? Some may have already guessed it, but those who are still thinking, STOP, its not a new lineup — its the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 that we are talking about! Yes, in an unexpected turn of events, the latest reports suggest that Xiaomi will release the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 on the 15 January 2015 and not the Xiaomi Mi5.
But this is not something to be unhappy about, as the phone will look much like what the recent rumors show it to be. So, all this time we have been seeing the Redmi Note 2 in pictures but guessing it to be the Xiaomi Mi5.
According to the recent listing on Oppomart, which is a known e-commerce website for selling Chinese smartphones, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is what we should expect at the next week’s event. The website has revealed full technical specifications of the upcoming device, confirming the design but proving most of the other rumored specifications wrong.
Before checking out the specs, lets take a look at how the device is designed. First of all, if this source turns out to be true, the phone will look nothing like current Redmi flagship. In fact, it will take its design inspiration from the current Mi flagship i.e. Xiaomi Mi4. The front will be protected by Gorilla glass as will be the back, however the rear gorilla glass body will be curved. Oppomart says that the phone will have the “World’s First Curved Glass Body“.
You have the sensors and the camera right on top of the display up front. There is also the ‘MI’ logo on the top left corner, much like the Mi4. Then at the bottom, you have three capacitive buttons. Yes, looks like Xiaomi will not be getting rid of these buttons for on screen ones, which is the current trend among newer phones. On the right, there is the volume rocker keys and the power button. We don’t see anything on the left side, but it will probably have the microSD and SIM card slots there.
According to the listing, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 will come with a 64-bit Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB/ 32GB storage options. The screen size will be of 5.7-inches and will be made of 2D glass,(an upgrade from the 5.5-inches on the current Redmi Note) and will feature a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. There will be a 13MP rear camera (Sony IMX214 with zero shutter lag) and a 5MP front shooter on the device.
Coming to the interesting part, the device will measure 141.89mm x 71.4mm x 6.1mm, which makes it thicker than what the earlier leaks said. If this is true, we feel Xiaomi made a right decision by going with a thicker body because if it was just 5.1mm thick, then we would have never seen a 3600 mAh battery onboard. Yes, to our delight, the listing says that the phone will indeed have a large 3600 mAh battery which should give more than average battery life even with its stunning 5.7-inch display!
[Update: Apparently Oppomart removed the phone’s measurements recently. So, don’t know whether it will be 5.1-inches or 6.2-inches thick]
As for connectivity options, the phone is said to feature dual microSIM slots and will support GSM: 850/900/1800/1900MHz; WCDMA: 850/900/1900/2100MHz, FDD LTE: 1800/2100/2600MHz. Yes, it is rumored to have FDD-LTE support which it compatible with a lot of country’s 4G network band. It will run on Android 4.4 KitKat OS along with the current MIUI 6.0 on top.
The device is said to retail for 1499 Yuan i.e. around $249 which is a great price for a phone with such specs. Ofcourse, it is much higher than the Redmi Note, but then this device has a much premium design and specs which justifies its price tag, if it is true.
Moreover, the company has released almost four teasers till now revealing small aspects about the upcoming device. The first one said that it would be thin, and this new leak says it will be around 6.1mm thick, which is considered as thin. Second teaser said it would be large, which once again this leak confirms. Third said it would be light weighted, and the fourth said it would have amazing sound quality. We can’t really confirm both these features, but other than that, this looks like the real deal. We have added the teases down below.
We think this leak could be true as we have heard rumors about a Jan launch of the Redmi Note 2. Secondly, Xiaomi usually unveils its flagship devices around June, which will make this release date quite unusual. On the other hand, the company releases its Redmi series phones earlier in the year (last year it was in March!). So, if we start thinking practically, a Redmi Note 2 launch would be logical this early in the year.
For some, things just got a bit more confusing while for others things have become clearer. All depends on how you take this leak. Either you can believe that this one is false and you’ll see the Xiaomi Mi5 on 15 Jan or you can go with this leak and believe this is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 flagship. Whatever you do, don’t worry, things will clear up soon after next week’s announcement.

It seems like the leaks just won’t stop coming. In the past one day, we have received, not one, not two, not even three — but FOUR different leaks about the same device within 24 hours. That’s how much demand there is for the upcoming Xiaomi Mi5 flagship. Earlier, a few set of images revealing the 5.1-inch ultra thin body of the device was leaked. Now, it looks like the rear panel of the Mi5 has been leaked online.
Thanks to these images, we can now see the extremely thin rear chasis of the phone in closeup. The overall structure of the device seems to be in line with the 3D renders that were leaked from Foxconn a few hours back. So, the doubts about the upcoming Xiaomi flagship is slowly clearing up. The images show that the headphone jack is on the top while the speaker grill and microUSB slots are at the bottom. Another thing revealed by this leak is that the phone will have a core metal body. This isn’t surprising given that even Xiaomi Mi4 had a machined metal core. To be honest, the overall picture of the phone does make it look a lot like the Samsung’s metal series Galaxy ‘Alpha’ series phones. But then everything looks the same these days and Xiaomi’s earlier flagship too had a similar design. So, its better no to go into that direction.
Coming to the specs, we are once again hearing that the phone will sport a 5.2-inch display as opposed to the 5.5-inch or even the gigantic 6-inch displays that were rumored earlier. It could also feature dual SIM card slots, but we don’t see any specific openings for them on the rear chassis.
To sum up, the leaked device looks like a larger variant of the Xiaomi Mi4. The specs are still not very clear but we have some idea about the overall design of the phone thanks to these leaks. It does look like the phone will have a 5.1-inch body, which pops up the question, whether it will have a large battery?
Both the super-slim Vivo X5 MAx and the OPPO R5 feature a less than impressive 2000 mAh battery. So will Xiaomi cut back on this essential feature for a thinner form profile? Well, we’ll find it out soon!
Until now, the No.1 G2 was probably the best smartwatch that was available in the market under $80. However, the relatively new manufacturer Zeaplus is all set to take on the G2 with an identical looking ZeaPlus ZeaWatch G2 smartwatch. Once again the design is based on Samsung’s Gear smartwatch which means you get the same solid metal built on this new smartwatch.
As for the tech specs, you can expect almost everything that is usually available on a mid-range smartwatch. So theres a 1.54-inch display which will be powered by the MT MT2502 processor. This is the same processor used on all budget wearables these days and the performance is quite satisfactory considering its price tag. For RAM you have 32MB and for ROM you have 128MB inside. Clearly, the watch is not meant to store anything inside, rather it acts as a companion smartwatch which will connect to your smartphone/ tablet. It sports a 2MP camera too. The overall measurements come out as 36.9 * 58.4 * 9mm which is again the standard for smartwatches these days and it weighs about 65 grams. Finally, the battery is of 235 mAh which is also pretty decent considering its price tag. The company claims that it gives around 70 hours of standby time, but we’ll have to confirm that after a thorough review.
The watch does have some interesting features such as a pedometer, calorie meter, steps calculator, anti-theft option, calls, messages support and 4 different watch faces. You also get a heart rate monitor on the device. It is waterproof and dust proof too, thanks to its IP67 certification. The ZeaWatch G2 syncs with most Android smartphones these days with a Bluetooth 4.0 connection, so you don’t have to worry about compatibility.
You get all these features for a great price — $69.99. Check out their official website for more details. You can currently purchase the Zeaplus G2 directly from Giztop for the said price. The device seems to be in stock on the website.
Xiaomi’s smartphones are so popular that not a day goes by without rumors and leaks about its upcoming flagship device. Just a few hours back we saw some 3D renders of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi4S from a source within foxconn. Now, a twitter source revealed a set of pictures which claim to be the next Xiaomi flagship, the Xiaomi Mi5.
Wait, this is confusing right? Both claim to be the next Xiaomi flagship but both have different names and different designs. So you must be wondering what to and what not to believe. We are in this dilemma too. However, there could be two different variants of the device, but that’s a long shot. So, for now, take whatever is leaked by this leakster with a pinch of salt! Moreover, the account that leaked these images and specs seems to be new without any followers which adds to our suspicion.
Coming to the actual leak, the picture looks like a render rather than the actual device. The phone is gigantic and it is said that it would come with a 6-inch 1080p display. That’s a very big upgrade from the existing 5-inch display on the Xiaomi Mi4. From what we can see, the phone is bezelless. The problem with this is that the photos look too good to be true. We have seen such renders of flagships before only to be disappointed after seeing the actual device.
As for the tech specs, the device is said to feature the Snapdragon 805 processor with 4GB RAM (Yes, 4GB!) and 32GB ROM. These specs, especially the 4GB again sounds too good to be true. While we agree that ASUS has already unveiled a 4GB phone at CES 2015, its very unlikely that Xiaomi would put in such a hardware inside its next flagship which needs to be affordable too.
So, like we said earlier, we still don’t know anything about the upcoming Xiaomi flagship, but this probably isn’t the real one. The pictures leaked earlier looked much more believable and probably that’s the one we’ll be getting at the 15 January 2015 event from Xiaomi.
Remember Xiaomi’s 399 yuan i.e. the $65 LTE enabled phone? There have been several leaks and speculations about the said device in the past, but today, we see that this phone has made it to TENAA again revealing its design and specifications. The $65 Xiaomi phone hit TENAA on 31 December 2014 with GSM / TD-SCDMA/ TD-LTE network support and dual SIM card dual standby support. While these network connectivity features are standard among mid-range devices, you don’t usually see them on a budget phone, let alone on a phone with just $65 price tag!
Design wise, the phone looks exactly like the recently announced Redmi 2 model. It features a square rear camera sensor with two small speaker grills on its right. The measurements too are in line with the new model. So, this could mean that Xiaomi may market this model as a variant to the Redmi 2 model. As for the tech specs, the $65 Xiaomi phone will come with a 4.7-inch 720p resolution display. It will be powered by a quad-core 1.6 GHz processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. There will be an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front shooter. It will run on Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS.
As you can see, the specs are almost the same as the current Redmi 2 model. There is only one major difference between the two. The Redmi 2 is powered by the 64-bit 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor while this model comes with the 1.6GHz quad-core Leadcore LC1860C processor. This budget processor is the reason why Xiaomi can sell the device for such a low price.
The LC1860C chipset is based on a 28nm manufacturing process on a quad-core Cortex-A7 architecture. It comes with the dual-core Mali T628 GPU and supports up to 13MP camera sensor, 720p display, 1080p recording at 30fps and TD-LTE/ LTE-FDD/ TF-SCDMA / WCDMA/ GSM/ EDGE networks.
The earlier Xiaomi leadcore model that hit TENAA with the Leadcore processor was clocked at 1.5GHz and had a different model number. So, this could be the final version that Xiaomi will release in the market.
Xiaomi’s partnership with Leadcore is not at all surprising as the company invested about $16.8 million in this Chinese based chipset manufacturer last year. This gave Xiaomi access to a number of intellectual property rights and since then, there have been numerous reports about a Leadcore based Redmi device to take over the budget market. Looks like this particular Redmi model is built to achieve this goal.
Overall, the design and tech specs of the device make it one of the best sub $70 smartphones in the market. The LTE connectivity at this price tag is definitely its USP. Anyways, we expect Xiaomi to officially reveal more details about the device soon. So stay tuned for more updates.
About a year back, if you had to buy a smartphone under $200, you didn’t have many options. Most of the times, you had to settle for something boring or slow in order to fit your budget. However, things have changed in the past few months with notable manufacturers as well as Chinese counterparts releasing some interesting smartphones with good hardware. You no longer have to settle for slow devices as most of these phones feature at least a quad-core processor with 1GB RAM to keep things running.
Hence, today we decided to take a look at the Best Chinese smartphones that you can buy between $100-$200. We have already covered an article on the best phones under $100, so if you are looking for something cheaper, make sure you check out that post later. We have added some bang for the buck phones in the list, so you won’t be disappointed.
Coming back here, this list contains a total of 9 smartphones and we have arranged them in the increasing order of price. The list includes the latest launches like the Elephone P6000 as well as old flagships, which can still be considered as a good buy, thanks to its mid-range specs.
Anyways, lets not waste any more time and look at the Best Chinese Smartphones to buy between $100-$200.
1. CUBOT X9
First up in the list is the Cubot X9. This particular company has made it to our best phones list most of the time, thanks to its extremely affordable price tag with good specifications. This is the exact reason why the Cubot X9 made it this list this time too. Unlike other sub $150 phones which feature old quad-core Mediatek processors with average specs, this particular device makes sure that you get the best for what you pay.
The Cubot x9 is powered by an octa-core 1.4GHZ MTK6592M processor with 2GB RAM and Mali-450MP GPU. The processor and the RAM will make sure everything runs smoothly on the device. There’s 16GB of on board storage which can be further expanded up to 64GB using a MicroSD card. On the front, is a 5-inch 720p HD resolution IPS display. The rear camera measures 13MP and comes with LED Flash and AutoFocus while the front camera is of 8MP. Standard connectivity features include Gravity, light, promixity sensors, GPS, HotKnot, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GSM+WCDMA network support etc. Unfortunately, it doesn’t support 4G LTE networks which is kind of disappointing for those who would have liked to take advantage of the ultra-fast download speeds. There’s a 2,200 mAh battery onboard which should be enough for a day’s usage.
In spite of its cheap price tag, the device looks and feels premium. It just measures 6.9mm in thickness, and weighs just 124 grams. Cubot X9 comes with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.
The Cubot X9 is currently available for sale at GearBest for $120.
PROS:
Sleek and Premium design
Octa-core processor
CONS:
Would have loved a larger battery than a 2,200 mAh one
The second phone in the list is the MPIE G7. This particular device may not be as powerful as the Cubot x9, however it comes with one particular feature that the X9 lacks– 4G LTE support. Yes, at just $132, the G7 supports 4G FDD LTE networks which means you can take advantage of high speed network on an affordable smartphone. Moreover, you have a fingerprint sensor too at the back, making it one of the cheapest phones to have this feature.
The MPIE G7 comes with a 5-inch 960 x 540 (qHD) resolution display. Inside, you have the standard MTK6582 quad-core processor much like other phones in this range but you get 2GB RAM on board which should make multitasking a lot better on this phone. As for internal memory, there is 8GB storage on board which can be expanded up to 64GB via MicroSD. Other network connectivity features include Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth, GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz + WCDMA 850/1900/2100MHz + FDD-LTE 800/1800/2100/2600MHz network band support.
The device is quite thin too and measures just 7mm in thickness. There’s 2,200 mAh battery on board which is also pretty decent for a 5-inch phone, provided you don’t use 4G LTE throughout the day.
Overall the device is a good buy for those looking to take advantage of 4G LTE networks. You can purchase the MPIE G7 directly from GearBest for $148, however, for a limited period, the phone is available for just $131.99 with the coupon from discountion.com.
PROS:
4G LTE support
Slim profile
Fingerprint Sensor
CONS:
2,200 mAh battery is a bit small for a 4G supported phone
One of the biggest reasons for Chinese manufacturers to use Mediatek SoCs instead of Qualcomm is their cheap price. But for those, who don’t trust Mediatek processor or prefer Qualcomm processors, the Cubot Zorro 001 is probably the best buy. It comes with a quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB on board memory which can be expanded with MicroSD up to 32GB. On the front lies a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The rear camera measures 8MP while the front shooter is of 2MP. The Zorro 001 supports a wide variety of network bands including the high speed LTE connections. The exact frequency supported by the device is as follows: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz, WCDMA 900/2100MHz and LTE-FDD 800/900/1800/2100/2600MHz. Once again for battery, you have a 2,200 mAh capacity one inside, which is pretty much what you get in other phones in this price range.
So, the Cubot Zorro 001 comes out as a pretty good device for those looking for a Qualcomm based smartphone with FDD-LTE network support.
PROS:
Qualcomm processor
4G LTE support
CONS:
Small 2200 mAh battery for an LTE supported device
Like Cubot, Elephone is yet another Chinese brand specializing in cheap feature smartphones. We have reviewed a lot of smartphones from the company lately and most of them have managed to impress us especially for the price that it retails for. The latest Elephone P6000 is another Elephone masterpiece blending in the perfect match of features and specs for a very attractive price tag.
Elephone P6000 makes it to the list because it comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. Software is something that Chinese companies generally ignore but this particular feature comes out as the highlight of the device. Given that the phone is relatively new, you have a new Mediatek processor as well. Inside, the Elephone P6000 features a 64-bit MTK6732 quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz along with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory. Like all other phones in the list, Elephone P6000 supports external memory cards too. There is a 5.0-inch 1280 x 720 pixel resolution display up front. Along with the standard connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS, the phone also supports FDD-LTE networks. As a result, you can take advantage of the high speed network connection available in your country on this phone. The exact network bands supported by the phone is as follows: GSM 800/900/1800/1900MHz, WCDMA 900/2100MHz and FDD-LTE 800/1800/2100/2600MHz.
There is a 13MP camera with LED flash at the back and a 2MP shooter up front. The battery is also pretty decent and at 2700 mAh, you should be able to use the phone for an entire day with some 4G usage.
Those who love the Xiaomi Mi4’s design but are not willing to spend as much as $350 on a phone can take a look at the No.1 Mi4 smartphone. This particular device is an exact clone of the Xiaomi Mi4 but cuts down on the cost by featuring mid-range specifications. We have already reviewed the device and it turned out to be a great mid-range smartphone which is why the phone made it to this list.
The phone comes with a 5-inch 720p HD OGS Display. Inside, a Mediatek MT6582 quad-core processor powers the device along with 1GB RAM and 16GB onboard memory. At the back lies the 8MP camera while up front lies a 5MP shooter. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS. There’s a 2250 mAh battery which powers all these specs, which may be small by today’s standards. But no 4G LTE connectivity and a 5-inch display won’t consume too much power, so it should make it through the day.
Usually, the No.1 Mi4 retails for around $150, but for a limited period, you can get the device for just $139.99 using a coupon from discountion.com. From our research this is the best deal we could find for the product.
Those who are looking for a more trusted brand, can go for the Redmi 1S smartphone which has been one of the best selling phones in the market today. The phone comes with a 4.7-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels translating into a pixel density of 326 ppi. Inside, the 1S is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz with 1GB RAM onboard. There’s 8GB internal storage which can be further expanded up to 32GB via MicroSD card. The rear f/2.2 aperture camera of 8MP clicks pretty good pictures. On the front, there is a 1.6MP shooter. All these features are powered by a 2000 mAh battery. The phone does not support LTE networks but other than that it comes out as a great package.
At present, one sure shot way to purchase the device is through Oppomart who retails it for $149. You can purchase it directly from Xiaomi if the company sells in your country. But even that requires per-registeration and some luck, so if you don’t want to rely on both, Oppomart comes out as a good option.
Like the Xiaomi Redmi 1S, the Honor 3C is another mid-range smartphone from a well known company. In fact, according to a recent report, 2014 went very well for the company as sales increased by over 33%, thanks to smartphones like the Huawei Honor 6 and the Ascend Mate 7.
While the Honor 3C doesn’t feature mind-blowing specs, the device is good enough for your daily needs. Up front, you have a 5-inch 720p display. The device is powered by a 1.3GHz quad core MT6582 processor with 1GB RAM and 16GB ROM. You can further expand this via MicroSD up to 32GB. There’s an 8MP camera at the back along with a 2MP shooter up front. Unfortunately, the phone runs on an old Android 4.2 version, but it is said that the KitKat update is coming soon. For battery, you have a 2000 mAh one onboard the device. Again no LTE support, so you will have to be happy with 3G network speeds.
Although a bit costlier than its regular price, you can get the Huawei Honor 3C directly from Oppomart for $159.
If you are looking for a phone that has 4G LTE, Octa-core processor as well as a large battery to support these features, then take a look at the new Elephone P3000S smartphone. The device brings in the best of all the features at a price that is considered affordable. What’s more, you have a fingerprint sensor at the back too which can unlock and secure your files inside the device.
The device is powered by an octa-core MT6592 processor clocked at 1.7GHz with 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage. Further, you have a MicroSD card slot to expand this memory. The P3000S model features a 5-inch IPS display with an HD 720p resolution. There’s an 13MP camera at the back along with an 8MP shooter up front.
The highlight of the device is its FDD-LTE support which brings ultra-high speed browsing at your hands. The phone supports GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz, WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100MHz and FDD-LTE 800/1800/2100/2600MHz network bands. The best part about the device is its 3150 mAh battery which is much larger than any other phone that supports LTE bands at this price range.
In fact, we have a coupon using which you can get the device for just $171.99. Usually, you will have to shell out around $190+ for this phone, but use the coupon from discountion.com to get it at this amazing price.
If you are willing to shell out a little more, then you can go for Xiaomi’s Redmi 4G model. The advantage of this phone over Elephone P3000S is that it features a 5.5-inch display but with the same resolution i.e. 1280 x 720p. So, for the larger resolution you have a less crispy screen.
Also, the phone comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.6GHz with 2GB RAM, 8GB expandable memory and Adreno 305 GPU. There’s a 13MP camera at the back along with a 5MP shooter up front. It comes with Android 4.4 KitKat OS with the popular MIUI V5.0 UI on top. The Redmi Note 4G has a 3100 mAh battery and the battery life should be similar to Elephone P3000S.
In case you are wondering, the supported network bands are as follows: GSM 900/1800/1900MHz, WCDMA 900/2100MHz and FDD LTE 1800/2100/2600MHz.
The Red mi Note 4G is available from Oppomart for $199. Head over to their website for more details.
As you can see, you have some great options for under $200. If we had to pick one phone that comes out as the best value for the price, then it would be the Elephone P3000S. But if you want to buy a phone a bit cheaper, then all the other options listed in the article are good. They have good specs which will make sure that the phone runs without hiccups and comes at a very affordable price.

Xiaomi has been making the headlines for a long time now. The latest leak shows off “3D” schematics of the advertised “thinner than the cicada’s wings ” new Xiaomi smartphone. These pictures come to us from the Foxconn factory in China and supposedly were snapped (in low resolution) by someone with a connection to the supply chain.
The first thing that hits you about the Xiaomi Mi4s are the rounded corners on the device, which dovetails with many of the other leaks we’ve seen of the phone. Unfortunately, the leak does not reveal any measurements of the device, although it does appear to keep the extremely thin design that we’ve seen before. But if slimness is what the company is aiming for, then it could have similar measurements to the iPhone 6 Plus’s 158.1 x 77.8 x 7.1 mm or even better measurements!
The power key has been moved to the right, supposedly to improve the grip on the phone, and the volume buttons are now elongated. In addition, the flash has changed to an oval design from the lozenge used on the iPhone 5s.
In addition to the 3D images, we also got some specifications directly from Foxconn. The Xiaomi Mi4S flagship will reportedly feature a 5.5inch 2k display, snapdragon 805, 3gb ram, 16gb/64gb rom, 16mp + 8mp camera. These specs are in line with what we heard a few days back, except for the camera department which was said to come with a more powerful 20.7MP sensor.
Yes, you should take this with a grain of salt, especially when the Xiaomi Mi4S leaks are all over the place. It is perfectly fine to cast a cynical eye on the images, even if you believe that the next Xiaomi flagship will look just like this.
The company confirmed an event on 15 January 2015 for its flagship launch about a day back, so we don’t have to wait too long to see whether these specs and the pictures are indeed of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi4S / Xiaomi Mi5.
The leaked Xiaomi Mi4s 3D schematics follow below.
Six months ago only top models of smartphones can boast support for LTE. In the meantime somewhere in the Celestial Empire, Chinese manufacturers worked hard to create a budget smartphone supporting LTE networks.
One of the first 4G budget smartphone has appeared on the market is LANDVO L200s with the cost just over $ 100. In this review we will focus on it.
The basis of the smartphone is already well-known processor from Mediatek, quad-core processor MTK6582, which operates at a frequency 1.3 GHz, and as the video accelerator uses MALI-400MP, thanks to which you can easily play 3D games. Supports up to 1GB RAM, just such memory is inbuilt.
MediaTek MT6582 itself does not have 4G-modem, so to the aid of MT6582 comes a separate module MediaTek MT6290 which supports fourth generation networks.
So what does the ” budget smartphone” with support for LTE networks represent from itself?
FEATURES

GPS: Yes Bluetooth: Yes
Memory: 1GB RAM
Built-in memory: 4GB (card support up to 64GB)
Back camera: 8.0MP
Front camera: 2.0MP
Screen Type: Capacitive, IPS
Screen Size: 5.0 inches
Screen Resolution: 1280 × 720 (QHD)
Sim cards: One Sim Card
Battery: 2000mAh
DESIGN
Speaking directly about the design of the smartphone it must be noted that the design of LANDVO L200s is very similar to the top-end smartphone ONEPLUS ONE. The smartphone is available in white and black color scheme.
The front of the smartphone looks presentable, chrome plated edging around the display emphasizes elegance and gives the smartphone a status look. Display slightly elevated relative to the chrome edging.
Display is slightly elevated relative to the chrome edging. As well chrome frame is a little larger than the screen. Such constructive decision is considered to be a slight advantage of design, because when struck against a hard surface is more likely to protect the screen of the smartphone.
There is a camera with a resolution of 2.0MP at the top of the front side, a conversational speaker protected by mesh located in the center. The smartphone is equipped with two sensors between the speaker and the camera: Light and Proximity. A LED indicator on the opposite side of the camera, which informs about the events only with one (red) color. There are three hardware buttons at the bottom of the front panel – “menu”, “home”, “back”.
The left side of the smartphone doesn’t have any hard buttons. All buttons, such as a power button and volume rocker has been placed on the right side of the smartphone.
The upper bound is equipped with micro USB jack for charging / synchronization and a mini 3.5 headphone jack
The lower bound has a microphone hole and a recess for removing of the back cover.
On the back side of the smartphone we can see camera lens, below is a LED flash. A speaker is installed at the bottom
It has a battery under the cover with stated capacity of 2000mAh.
With the connector on the inside of the smartphone it makes not an ordinary picture for the Chinese smartphone.
The device has support for only one SIM card, which is not very usual for “Chinese”, also there is a slot for a memory card.
Here is a display comparison between Landvo L200s(Left) and Oneplus One(right)
DISPLAY LANDVO L200G received a 5-inch capacitive display with IPS matrix. The screen resolution of the smartphone is very modest, only 1280 × 720 (QHD) pixels. Proceeding from the budget of $ 100 for a smartphone, I think this option is justified by reducing the cost of the product. Viewing angles are close to 180 °. Screen material – plastic, there is no possibility to check the screen scratch resistance, cause the protective film is already pasted at the factory (plus extra film included). multi-touch support with up to 5 simultaneous touch points. Sensitivity is good, problems with the touchscreen is not observed. Brightness adjustment allows to see a great range. Whether At minimum brightness under indoor lighting brightness of the screen, or under the sun at maximum brightness smartphone screen is easy to read.
HARDWARE
As it is written above is based on quad-core processor smartphone MTK6582 which was released in the fall of 2013
Graphics processor MALI-400MP allows you not only to use this smartphone as a tool for communication and
surfing the internet, but allows the owner to plunge into the world of 3D games.
The internal memory as well as RAM is enough. this smartphone is equipped with a balanced amount of memory. 1GB of RAM is enough for complex 3D games, and 4GB of internal memory should be enough for the most necessary programs; support for microSD cards up to 64GB solves the problem of a shortage of memory for storage applications.
Camera
I have to say the camera is really impressive for the price tag of the phone, here are the pictures I tool from the place I visited with the phone.
BATTERY
2000mAh – minimum at which you can easily use your smartphone in a moderate mode at least full day with all its possibilities. The battery weighs 38 grams. Chinese manufacturers often overstate the performance of its power supply, but not this time. As for the real autonomy of the battery, I can say with confidence that with moderate use, the smartphone without charging will last about two days. If you use active mode, should suffice a little more than for day.
Conclution
Price at an unbelievably low $$110.99as GizmoChina offers a coupon code, which is LL200SCN for a discounted price., Landvo’s L200S is easily delivers twice the value in features. It’s quite possibly the best budget handset I’ve seen, and with its affordable accessories, makes this one of the best low-cost smartphone you can get today. The Xiaomi will be available at the cheapest price here, you can buy it from the buy now buttons below.
