The update is rolling out via OTA in a phased manner, users who can’t wait for OTA can download its official downloadable ROM from official Mi community forums. The new update will roll out to a broader audience after a couple of days if the phased rollout succeeds without any major bug.
The new changes or features that have been incorporated in the MIUI 10 Global Stable ROM V10.1.1.0.NCCMIFI are a new design, natural sound system, other sound optimizations, camera improvements and much more. Particularly, Xiaomi has optimized the MIUI 10 for full-screen devices and it let content to take the front seat. It gives more clarity to content rather than the several options of the device. It has cleared a lot of clutter from the main UI of the device.

The natural sound system is another perk that users will enjoy on the new version of MIUI skin. It will help users to relax and focus on what’s important. There are many other refinements in the camera app, it features options such as AI portrait mode and several other modes. Along with the usual fixes, Xiaomi has also added improvements for clock and notes app. Almost every app has received an overhaul than the older version of MIUI.

Download link for the new ROM is now available for download. The OTA update is also rolling out to users, but it may take some few more days to reach on every unit. Also, make sure to charge your device more than 60% for smooth installation of MIUI 10 Stable update.

Update: Many users are reporting that they are unable to find any AI portrait mode on the new camera app after update.

On Amazon, the lower priced Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A were the bestsellers.

The Redmi Note 4 has a discount of up to INR 2,000 (~$31) off on Flipkart. On Amazon, its the Mi Max 2 that gets INR 2000 (~$31) off on each variant. You can read more about it here. If you are a Xiaomi fan, you may want to visit the online store to see what items are on sale. Nevertheless, below is a list of three items which can be purchased for less when you apply their resective coupons.

Mi Band 2

The Mi Band 2 is still selling pretty well. Its sales even pushed Xiaomi to the top of the list of wearable sellers for Q2 2017. Gearbest sells the smartband for $22.29 but if you use the coupon code harvest001 during checkout, you can pick it up for just $13.99.

Huami Amazfit PACE

Xiaomi doesn’t have a smartwatch but the Amazfit which is made by the same company (Huami) behind the Mi Bands is usually referred to as a Xiaomi smartwatch. Priced at $99.89 on a regular day, using coupon code harvest007 brings it down to $92.99.

Redmi 4A

The Redmi Note 5A might have been announced already but most will agree that you are better off buying the Redmi 4A than the base variant of the Redmi Note 5A. Apart from the bigger screen and metal body, there is no significant reason for picking it over the 4A.

Gearbest has the 32GB version of the Redmi 4A for $105.99 but when you apply coupon code harvest013, you get to pay just $92.99.

The modest specs of the smartphone suggest that it could be the Redmi 5A.

The Xiaomi phone that has surfaced on TENAA has a model number of MCT3B. The handset measures 140.44 x 70.14 x 8.35mm and its weight is 137 grams. The smartphone is available in black, rose gold, gold, white, blue, red, pink, gray and silver.

It features a 5-inch TFT display that produces a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The dimensions of the Xiaomi MCT3B smartphone is quite similar to the Redmi 4A and it also features a same-sized HD display. However, the Redmi 4A has a IPS LCD screen whereas the MCT3B has a TFT screen.

Just the Redmi 4A lacks a fingerprint reader, the MCT3B also lacks a fingerprint sensor which also indicates that it could be a successor of Redmi 5A. The smartphone is running on Android 7.1.2 and is powered by 1.4 GHz processor. It has an internal storage of 32 GB. Users can add up to 128 GB of microSD card on its external storage.

The Redmi 4A has 1.4 GHz Snapdragon 425 chipset, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. It also features a microSD card slot.

The rear camera of MCT3B could be of 13-megapixel or 8-megapixel that carries support for full HD recording. It has a front-facing camera of 5-megapixel. The Redmi 4A has a 13-megpaixel rear camera and a 5-meapixel selfie snapper.

The Xiaomi MCT3B has a 3,000mAh battery and carries support for connectivity features like dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi and more. The Redmi 4A has a larger battery of 3,120mAh capacity. The Chinese manufacturer had announced the Redmi 4A in November 2016. Hence, it appears that Xiaomi could be prepping on a successor phone for Redmi 4A.

Xiaomi has recently announced the Mi A1 Android One phone in partnership with Google that comes with a stellar dual camera system and a budget pricing of Rs. 14,999 (~$235). The Xiaomi Mi A1 will be not only online but also going to release through multiple offline channels in India. It would be releasing in 37 markets across the world. The smartphone will allow the Xiaomi brand to reach wider markets, but there is no confirmation on when it will be coming to the U.S.

Research firm Strategy Analytics has posted its latest research on the best-selling smartphones in the second quarter of this year and quite surprisingly, Apple’s 2016 flagship- iPhone 7 came out as the top selling model. Apple commanded a string showing which saw the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus occupying the top two positions with the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus coming in at the third and fourth spots. The leading brand, Apple iPhone 7 sold 16.9 million units while the Plus-sized version had an estimated 15.1 million units in sales. Also, Samsung is reported to have sold 10.2 million units of the Galaxy S8 and 9 million units of the Galaxy S8+.

The list contains a stunning revelation, which is that the Xiaomi Redmi 4A is the fifth best-selling model for the second quarter of the year with over 5.5 million units sold worldwide between April and June alone. The Redmi 4A is a budget model with a premium design which has seen its price drop to the sub-$100 level such that it ships to all parts of the world. Much of that sales would likely have come from India where the model was launched earlier this year. Analysis by research firm IDC indicates that Xiaomi is the second largest smartphone manufacturer in India in the second quarter of 2017. only second to Samsung which occupies the top spot.

In all, smartphone shipments for the entire year stood at a towering 360 million units in Q2 2017 with the top 5 brands taking just a fraction of that amount. Other brands still commanded a total sale estimated to be 303.7 million units.

Judging from the albeit limited specs, this is an entry-level/mid-range phone and will belong to the Redmi line when and if it launches.

The Xiaomi Riva is a 3GB RAM device and is powered by a Qualcomm quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz. This is either the Snapdragon 425 or Snapdragon 427 mobile platform. The phone is also listed as running Android 7.1.2.

Benchmark results show the Xiaomi Riva pulling in 560 points in the single-core test and 916 points in the multi-core test. However, the multi-core test is disappointing when compared to that of the Redmi 4A, an entry-level Snapdragon 425-powered phone.

Last month we came across a new Xiaomi device codenamed Jason on GFXBench. While some say the Snapdragon 660-powered phone will launch as the Mi 6X, Xiaomi has kept mum on the existence of the device.

Is the Xiaomi Riva a successor to the super-affordable Redmi 4A? There is a chance it is but the multi-core test is pretty disappointing.

On May 20, the Chinese firm generated a massive revenue of Rs. 5 crore (~$775K) within 12 hours through the offline sales of various Xiaomi devices in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

The offline sale was conducted at the Xiaomi’s first Mi Home store in India located at Phoenix City, Bengaluru. Over 10,000 Mi fans from 10 different states arrived at the Mi Store to be a part of this milestone achievement of the company.

Xiaomi could generate such a huge revenue through the sales of various Xiaomi devices such as Redmi 4, Redmi 4A, Redmi Note 4, Mi VR Play, Mi Air Purifier 2, Mi Router 3C and Mi Band 2. No other smartphone company has managed to achieve such a milestone in the country. The Chinese firm revealed that the Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A accounted for major sales among other Xiaomi products.

Manu Jain, the Vice President and Managing Director of Xiaomi said,” It was an extremely emotional day for all of us at the opening of our first Mi Home store. I am humbled by the unprecedented outpouring of love from all our Mi Fans who started lining up from 8 AM in the morning. I had a fun filled day with spending time with our fans, billing at the counters for our customers, entertaining people standing in queue and answering multiple queries at Mi Home. Never did I imagine that with every passing hour we were quietly creating history in the Indian retail market.”

Xiaomi has previously said that it will be opening 100 Mi Home stores across the country including major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai. With the launch of these offline stores, Xiaomi aims to increase the offline sales of its devices. An additional zone will be available in select Mi Home stores for experiencing more Xiaomi devices.

After becoming part of the “Make in India” program of the Indian Government, the Chinese firm launched its second manufacturing unit in the country at Andhra Pradesh. The factory that has been launched in partnership with Foxconn will make it possible for the company to manufacture 95 percent of smartphones that will be sold in the country. The company claims that the new plant is capable of producing one phone per second.

A recent survey carried out by IDC revealed that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 was the most shipped smartphone in the first quarter of this year. With a market share of 29.3, Xiaomi now stands as the number one smartphone brand in the online market in India.

Xiaomi’s founder, Lei Jun has said that the growth response in India, its second largest market, has been overwhelming. But despite the fact that there are two factories already, demand still outweighs supply greatly. To solve that, a third plant is in the picture.

Speaking in an interview with the Economic Times, Lei Jun said an IDC report puts them at number one in online sales. A clearer picture of that statement is that out of every three phones sold online, one is a Xiaomi phone. That number can be higher if supply increases. The company sold 250,000 Redmi 4A phones in four minutes during its last flash sale. That figure pales in comparison to the 1 million recorded pre-booked orders.

Mr. Jun says the plan is to replicate the success in online sales to offline sales. The company’s short term goal is to grab 50% of the online market share (29.3% as at 2016, and over 30% now) then grab 50% of the offline market share.

Xiaomi says it will adopt its efficiency model to keep their phones priced the same as they are online even though offline retail cost is higher. For a country like India with a massive population, there are still a lot of folks who do not use the internet. Meeting the demands of that group will require more investment in the building of more local warehouses and an expansion of service stores.

Xiaomi India MD, Manu Jain says Xiaomi is setting up a third warehouse in Delhi already and has plans to double its service centers from 250 to 500 by the middle of the year. There are also plans to bring

Lei Jun also said that there are plans to bring more products in its ecosystem to India. He is also considering investing in start-ups in India through Shunwei Capital and Xiaomi India.

READ MORE: Xiaomi’s Next Product is an Anti-Haze Mask for Kids

He also cleared the air on the challenges it faced last year. “In the past few years after hitting some of these obstacles we have intentionally slowed down and we want to build upon a stronger foundation… Even in the toughest years, like last year, we were actually able to achieve some growth”.

At the moment, 95% of Xiaomi phones sold in India are manufactured in the country. The Mi 5 is the only one currently imported. Once demand is met, then plans for exportation will be looked into. On when it will launch in the US, Lei Jun said the plan is to replicate the success in India in countries like Indonesia, Russia, Ukraine, and Vietnam first before going to the States.

The Chinese manufacturer claims that it sold 2.5 lakhs units of Redmi 4A through Amazon.in and Mi.com in just 4 minutes. Also, Xiaomi had sold more than 1 million Redmi Note 4 units in India in just 45 days after its launch on January 23. Well-known industry expert Kevin Wang has claimed that Xiaomi is expected to achieve highly impressive sales record in India in 2017.

The Chinese tech company had confirmed in January that it crossed the $1 billion revenue mark in just first two years of operating in India. The present popularity of the Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4A smartphones suggests that it will be achieving huge sales result this year. Wang has predicted that the sales of Xiaomi smartphones is going to exceed 18 million units as the company seems to be selling 1.5 million units per month.

He has added that the Indian market is going through a shift from feature phones to smartphones. The demand for smartphones are increasing in India and Xiaomi seems to have timed the release of its budget friendly smartphones quite well in the country.

On March 20, Xiaomi announced its second manufacturing plant in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, India. The first manufacturing unit was setup at the same location in August 2015. The new plant that is owned and operated by Xiaomi’s partner firm Foxconn will be only manufacturing Xiaomi smartphones. With this new plant, 95 percent of the phones sold in India would be manufactured in the country. The combined production of both manufacturing unit will let the company produce 1 phone per second in India.

Xiaomi has already started teasing the launch of Redmi 4 and Redmi Prime that be arriving as successor phones for Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime. The arrival of these phones are expected to generate more sales for the company. The Redmi 3S and Redmi Note 3 smartphones from last year are contributing considerably to the online smartphone sales with 50 percent market share among the leading 10 smartphones in India.

The new factory which is located in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh was built in conjunction with Foxconn, another Chinese OEM giant.

The announcement was made during the launch of the Redmi 4A in India yesterday. Xiaomi says the new plant produces one phone per second but refused to reveal its annual production target. While that might sound impressive, it still might not be enough. Xiaomi phones are usually sold out immediately when it announces its sales.

Vice-President Manu Kumar Jain who also doubles as head of Xiaomi India says the company is working on solving supply issues. He said plans were already underway for production expansion since last year when the first plant was already working at full capacity but demand still outweighed supply. He cited the example of the Redmi Note 4 which sold a million units in just 45 days but which could have been more if they had more stock.

In an interview with IndianExpress.com, Mr Jain said “The key for us was to start hitting one phone per second kind and we thought we will announce it only when we hit that number. Now we are hitting that consistently”.

Xiaomi says it has employed over 5000 workers, 90% of which are women at both plants which are managed by Foxconn. Xiaomi’s Indian portfolio includes the Redmi 3S (2 variants), Redmi Note 4 (3 variants), and the Mi 5. Xiaomi says except the Mi 5 which is imported from its home country, the others are made in India.

Part of Xiaomi’s plans for India is to focus on offline sales. Mr. Jain says the company has partnered with brick and mortar stores like Big C Mobiles, Poorvika Mobiles, Sangeetha Mobiles to sell the Redmi Note 4 in over 700 locations in South India. He adds that residents in cities in the North (Delhi Chandigarh and Jaipur) will be able to purchase a Xiaomi phone from about 1500 mom and pop stores by the end of the week.

READ MORE: Xiaomi and Warner Music Sign Partnership Agreement

Last year, Xiaomi was overtaken by a large margin by Huawei, OPPO and Vivo in its home country. Part of the reason associated to the low sales were said to stem from putting its focus majorly on online sales and not working on offline sales. It appears Xiaomi has already learnt from its mistakes.

To keep the Redmi 4A under the $100 mark, Xiaomi had to sacrifice a number of features.

First, the Redmi 4A is bundled with a smaller battery, 3120mAh to be precise. It also doesn’t have a fingerprint scanner. But apart from those two features, the phone is still a great device. It has an all-metal body, a 5-inch 720p display, a Snapdragon 425 SoC, and 16GB of built-in storage with option for expansion. It also has dual SIM slots. There is also a decent 13MP shooter on the rear and a 5MP sensor up front.

Xiaomi released the Redmi 4A in gold and rose gold but a new listing on a Russian website shows that there is a gray version coming. So if you have been holding back on purchasing a unit because of its colors, the Gray Redmi 4A might be what you have been waiting for.

Another new feature we might see coming to the Redmi 4A is a new storage variant. We have been seeing sightings of a 32GB variant of the phone on sites like Aliexpress. This doesn’t look like an error on the part of the sellers and it appears they know something we don’t. No orders have been completed so far, so it seems this is like a pre-order.

As at the time of writing, the Redmi 4A is not available on Xiaomi’s website. It might have been pulled off because of the possible launch of new color and storage variant. Expect the gray Redmi 4A to cost a bit more when it becomes available.

The launch of the Redmi 4X should not come as a surprise to those familiar with Xiaomi. It was already obvious the Redmi 4 will get the X-treatment after the Redmi Note 4X was announced.

With the addition of this new phone, we now have a total of four Redmi 4 devices: the Redmi 4A, Redmi 4, Redmi 4X, and Redmi 4 Prime. You can call them the Fantastic Four if you wish.

All four phones are well made and are priced at less than $200. However, even though they share the same name, they differ in lots of ways. So if you are having a hard time deciding which is right for you, you should read this to the end.

Redmi 4A

Redmi 4X black

Redmi 4

Redmi 4 prime

Display: Same but Different

All the phones in the Redmi 4 line come with a 5-inch display making them perfect for one hand use. The difference lies is in their resolution. While the Redmi 4A, Redmi 4, and Redmi 4X have 720p displays, the Redmi 4 Prime has a 1080p screen. That translates into different PPIs too, 294 as against 441.

If you want your display sharp and crisp, you should look to the Redmi 4 Prime but if you don’t care much for that, the Redmi 4, 4A or 4X is fine.

Processors: Different Dragons

Xiaomi has settled for Qualcomm chips only. The Redmi 4A sports the Snapdragon 425; the Redmi 4 gets the Snapdragon 430, the Redmi 4X has the newer Snapdragon 435, and the Redmi 4 Prime uses the popular Snapdragon 625. The Redmi 4 Prime is basically the Redmi Note 4X with a smaller screen. Nothing more, nothing less. So I won’t compare its chip to the rest.

The Snapdragon 425 has a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.4GHz and an Adreno 308 GPU. The Snapdragon 430 and 435 on the other hand are octa-core chips clocked at 1.4GHz and have a more powerful Adreno 505 GPU. The advantage the Snapdragon 435 has over the Snapdragon 430 is in LTE speeds. The SD435 has Cat.7 LTE as against the SD430’s Cat. 4 LTE. That means you will get faster download speeds on the Redmi 4X.

RAM and ROM

The Xiaomi Redmi 4A and Redmi 4 ships with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The Redmi 4X is available in two variants: a 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM and a 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM. The Redmi 4 Prime is only available with 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage. All four devices support microSD cards of up to 128GB. If you want a larger RAM, the Redmi 4X or Redmi 4 Prime is your best option.

READ MORE: Xiaomi’s MIUI 8.2 Comes with new Ringtones: Download Here!

Cameras

The Redmi 4 line are all equipped with 13MP rear cameras and 5MP front cameras for selfies. The only difference is in the Redmi 4X which has a f/2.0 aperture for its rear camera whereas the others are f/2.2.

Battery

The Redmi 4, 4X, and 4 Prime ship with a 4100mAh battery but the Redmi 4A takes a dip down to 3120mAh. Since they are all 5-inch devices, battery life should be pretty stellar plus they all feature power efficient chips. However there might will be variations in on-screen time. The ones with the higher screen resolution may likely record less screen time than the 720p displays.

Fingerprint Scanner

Fingerprint scanners have now become a regular feature in mid-range phones. We have even seen them in some sub $100 devices but sadly, the Redmi 4A misses out on this feature. All the other 3 have fingerprint scanners at the back.

Price

Redmi 4A – ¥599 (~$87)

Redmi 4 – ¥699 (~$102)

Redmi 4X- 2GB RAM+ 16GB ROM = ¥699 (~$102); 3GB RAM + 32GB = ¥899 (~$131)

Redmi 4 Prime – ¥899 (~$131)

NB: Prices are MSRPs and not what you will get them from re-sellers.

Conclusion

Redmi 4A – cheapest of the lot but at the expense of a smaller battery and lack of a fingerprint scanner.

Redmi 4 – the fingerprint scanner and larger battery gives it an edge over the Redmi 4A. Battery life will be great too but probably won’t last as long the Redmi 4X.

Redmi 4X – has a more powerful processor in terms of LTE speeds than the Redmi 4A and Redmi 4 and also has a fingerprint scanner. The screen resolution might be the deal breaker for some. It is also the only other one with a 3GB variant.

Redmi 4 Prime – Best of everything. Compact body, higher resolution display, power efficient CPU, more powerful GPU, and larger RAM and storage. Basically the smaller version of the Redmi Note 4X in size alone.

If you do not care about the resolution, you are better off buying the 2GB RAM variant of the Redmi 4X or the Redmi 4. The Redmi 4 Prime is the one you should buy if you want to tick all the boxes. The Redmi 4A on the other hand is what you should get if you are looking for a second phone to complement that flagship in your pocket or if you want to get a gift for an older relative.

On an average, the company seems to be releasing at least a couple of smartphones every month, which is a lot! Sometimes, a particular model seems to take the limelight, and rightly so, because of its decently powerful specs at an affordable price tag. But this also means that there are a few models that receive less attention, like the Xiaomi Redmi 4A.

Today, in this Xiaomi Redmi 4A review, we take a look at what this phone brings to the table.

Get the Xiaomi Redmi 4A for just $119.99 from OPPOMART

Xiaomi Redmi 4A Design

If you have ever unboxed a Xiaomi smartphone before, (which I’m sure majority of our readers have at least according to this poll), you know what’s inside the box. You have the Redmi 4A smartphone, a manual, charger, and USB cable. So, basically, the usual stuff.

In the design department as well there are no surprises. The Xiaomi Redmi 4A continues the traditional Redmi design language, coming with an all metal body, non-removable back in gold and rose gold color options. But the Redmi 4A is a bit different from the Redmi 4 in terms of its design. The phone features the non-protruding rear camera on the top left corner accompanied by a single LED flash. Despite its low-end placement, the camera is decent, but more on that later.

You have the MI logo etched at the back along with speakers below it. Buttons are tactile and are made out of metal. On the left, you have the hybrid SIM tray while at the bottom there’s a regular MicroUSB port. Since the front of the phone is white, the bezels on the side look a bit thick. But it doesn’t really come in the way of using the phone, thanks to its vibrant display.

One thing to note here is that the Xiaomi Redmi 4A is super light. It weighs just around 132 grams and is super easy to carry around. It’s compact and thin as well, measuring 139.5 x 70.4 x 8.5 mm. This makes it thinner as well as a bit more compact than its elder sibling, the Xiaomi Redmi 4.

Xiaomi Redmi 4A Display

The Redmi 4A comes with a pretty good display. The screen is sharp and the colors are vibrant. Brightness isn’t too high as compared to some other phones like the Moto G4 Plus, but I found no issues using the display under direct sunlight. In fact, I personally found the display on the Redmi 4A ideal for reading.

Specs wise, the display isn’t that great — 5-inch 1280 x 720p resolution (294 ppi) but in real world usage, you won’t be disappointed.

Xiaomi Redmi 4A Hardware & Performance

Given its low-end segment, don’t expect anything out of the ordinary from this device. The Redmi 4A handles almost every task with minimum lag and for your everyday usage like browsing or watching a few videos, the Snapdragon 425 chip inside should be sufficient. Note that the major difference between the Snapdragon 430 that powers the Redmi 4 (and even Nokia 6) and Snapdragon 425 inside the Redmi 4A is the GPU on board. The former comes with Adreno 505 while the Redmi 4A features a slightly slower Adreno 308.

Gaming on the Redmi 4A was a pleasant experience. There were a few skipped frames here and there, but overall, the phone managed to tackle games like Asphalt 8 and Real Drift Racer without any significant hiccups. Even opening up apps and games were pretty quick. So, for your basic everyday usage, the Snapdragon 425 and 2GB RAM should just be enough.

Overheating is not an issue with the Redmi 4A. Even after half an hour of gaming or consistent browsing, the phone doesn’t seem to overheat, which is a good sign. Check out the full hardware specs of the model here.

As for the battery life, I could get an entire day with the 3000mAh battery inside. This includes moderate usage like browsing for an hour, watching a few videos on youtube and talking for about an hour. Messaging apps and internet tend to drain down the battery quite quickly, but still, if your usage is moderate, the phone will last an entire day without much trouble.

Xiaomi Redmi 4A Camera

The phone comes with a 13MP f/2.2 aperture camera at the back and a 5MP shooter up front. The rear camera is pretty decent, managing to take pictures with good clarity under good lighting conditions.

Low light images are bad, but HDR mode is something that helps you overcome lighting issues in most situations.

The HDR mode on the rear camera managed to capture much better photos, especially indoors, where lighting conditions were not exactly favorable.

The front camera is also decent and is good enough for a few selfies. Nothing out of the ordinary, just what you can expect from a sub-$150 smartphone.

The full-size samples and even a video have been uploaded here. Feel free to check them out.

The UI is smooth and the animations are fluid, as is the case with most MIUI powered phones. The phone is currently running Android 6.0.1 with MIUI 8 on top. The software comes with all the basic features found on MIUI 8, including Second Space and Dual Apps. The Second Space is like a second smartphone inside. You can use this space to customize for a particular need, like choose the themes, apps that will be displayed in this mode.

You can set a password for protecting the data on this space as well as quickly transfer apps to this new space. Revert back to the first space (using the icon on the home page) and you get all your original data back. It’s a smart way to manage your work and home profiles in one phone. You can also duplicate apps on the device, which is yet another smart feature on MIUI 8.

I have been using this phone as my primary device for making and receiving calls for the past several weeks and I must say that given its super light weight body, you can talk for hours on the device without any issues. The call clarity is decent and you won’t find any trouble hearing the person on the other side.

Xiaomi Redmi 4A Review: Conclusion

Overall, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A is a pretty decent smartphone at its price. If you are looking for something that’s compact, lightweight and can tackle most tasks without much hassle, then the Redmi 4A is for you. The phone looks pretty good, the display is bright and good for reading and the overall experience is good. The camera could have been better, but for a couple of images once in a while, it will suffice.

The company released the two devices online, via live stream, instead of the traditional fanfare associated with its phone launches. But it’s understandable, considering how busy the company has been in the past few months.

The Redmi 4A comes with a similar appearance as the Redmi 4, in a matte finish and two color options, gold and rose gold. So, despite its cheap pricing, the phone will look quite premium as compared to rivals in the market. The phone is super light as well, weighing just 131.5 grams. Another interesting highlight of the phone’s design is the super thin antenna lines, which gives it a seamless look.

The Redmi 4A is powered by the Snapdragon 425 chipset which is a quad-core chip clocked at 1.2GHz. There is a 5-inch 720p display on board. For memory, there is 2GB RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. At the back, the phone features a 13MP sensor with PDAF, and up front, there is a 5MP shooter. Other features include a 3120mAh battery, MIUI 8 and dual SIM dual standby.
