Of course, the Vivo X20 Plus UD version comes with the same specification as the regular X20 Plus so the camera rating is expected to cut across all models of the X20 Plus. The X20 Plus comes with an attractive design which includes a dual camera setup at the rear. The rear cameras include a f/1.8 aperture 12-megapixel sensor that is coupled with a secondary sensor of 5-megapixel. The summary of the DXOMark test shows that the Vivo X20 Plus’ camera performed better in still photography than in the video aspect. The X20 Plus recorded a sub-score of 92 points in the aspect of photos. The key attributes which give the X20 Plus camera its outstanding rating include its good exposures, particularly in indoor conditions; a very good wide aperture mode, which produces a mild, but attractive bokeh effect with few artefacts; and outstanding autofocus performance. The device also packs a capable video mode with a sub-score of 87 points and should be an amazing one for photography enthusiast.

Vivo made history when it announced Vivo X20 Plus Under Display version as the first smartphone to have the much talked about under display fingerprint sensor. The technology is yet to get featured on any other smartphone so, the X20 Plus UD version is still the only smartphone to have such innovative technology. The model had recently gone under the screwdrivers of popular Youtuber JerryRigsEverything who tore down the device to reveal its internals. Not satisfied with just exploring the internals, the tech geek has now executed a durability test on the device, testing the under display fingerprint sensor in the process. JerryRigEverything carried out the scratch test using his traditional Mohs’ hardness test. The screen’s glass handles the scratches well, with light scratches at level 6 and deeper ones at level 7. Quite satisfactorily, the fingerprint reader survived the trauma! This may not sound interesting to some after all this isn’t the first fingerprint reader to undergo the scratch, burn and bend test. But as explained by the tester Zach Jerry on the video, the Vivo X20 Plus UD version features an optical reader rather than the more common capacitive one.

Apart from the scratch test, the X20 Plus UD also scaled through the bend test with flying colours. The device also performs well in the burn test. On the whole, the test proved the flagship device is surprisingly sturdy despite its large and thin build. As a reminder, the Vivo X20 Plus UD version features a 6.43-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The device comes with a thickness of just 7.5mm.

On Jan. 24, Vivo had officially launched the Vivo X20 Plus In-Screen Fingerprint smartphone after demonstrating at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018. It is the world’s first phone to feature an under-display fingerprint sensor. Starting from 10 AM, the smartphone will be available for buying in China through the official website of Vivo and Jingdong Mall.

The Vivo X20 Plus UD is priced at 3,598 Yuan in China. It is available with some attractive freebies such as Vivo P50 5,000mAh power bank worth 99 Yuan and Smart Bracelet worth 99 Yuan.

The Vivo X20 Plus UD comes with a 6.43-inch AMOLED display that supports FHD+ resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The in-screen fingerprint sensor supplied by Synaptics is present between the top glass and OLED panel. It can be not only used for unlocking the phone but also for authenticating payments on WeChat and AliPay. Vivo recommends the users X20 Plus UD to make use of the thin screen protector provided with the device to safeguard the display and its fingerprint sensor. Using a thicker screen protector may hamper the performance of the fingerprint reader. The handset is also equipped with face recognition feature.

Vivo recently launched the Vivo X20 Plus Under Display fingerprint version which is the world’s first smartphone that would pack an in-display fingerprint sensor. The X20 Plus UD fingerprint edition comes with a refreshed design slightly different from the initial X20 Plus in that, it packs ann in-display or under display fingerprint sensor. Thus, the X20 Plus UD does not have a fingerprint sensor at the rear. Now, we have spotted the teardown photos of the flagship and in case you have been wondering how it looks on the inside, here it is.

The Vivo X20 Plus UD fingerprint version doesn’t seem to be difficult to dismantle. All that is needed is a pry tool, suction cup, screwdrivers and other relevant tools. The suction cup and pry are used to take off the display panel wherein lies the Under Display sensor. The rear panel is held in place by screws which can be removed using a hexagonal screwdriver. Of course, you’ll need to remove the SIM card tray before embarking on this exercise.

Since there is no rear-mounted fingerprint sensor on the under display sensor, the front panel and the rear are not connected by any wire. As you would recall, Vivo unveiled its latest Vivo X20 In-Screen Fingerprint smartphone at CES 2018 in Las Vegas. Vivo has already sent out invitations to the launch event and we had seen a poster in that regard, stating the venue of the launch.

However, the official invitation to the launch had not been seen until now and it actually unlocks some interesting details. ITHome got an invitation card to the event and interestingly, the invitation card doesn’t look like the ordinary ones we may have seen in the past. It comes with an innovative imitation of the in-display fingerprint sensor and the imitation actually works! Well, except that when it is pressed with the finger, it reveals an embedded two-dimensional QR code. When the QR code is scanned with a smartphone, it opens a webpage where the evolution of the phone unlock is chronicled right from the days of Nokia phones and Motorola flip phones to the present set of unlocking technology.

The Vivo X20 Plus In-screen fingerprint version looks very similar in design to the regular version which has gotten quite a number of variation presently. The major difference is that there is no rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, instead, the device comes with a  fingerprint module under the screen. The location of the fingerprint module seems to be lit-up with the fingerprint icon displayed, perhaps for ease of identification. The fingerprint sensor unlocks the device is just about 0.6s – 0.7 seconds which isn’t bad for a new technology making its debut for the first time. With time, the unlock speed will improve. In addition, chances of false recognition are said to be one in 50,000. At the recently held Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018, Vivo had showcased the X20 Plus in-screen fingerprint version as the world’s first smartphone to feature under-display fingerprint scanner. At the start of this month, the smartphone had bagged 3C certification and around a week ago the smartphone had received certification from TENAA. Previous rumors had suggested that it would be launching as Vivo X20 Plus UD. Today, Vivo has officially confirmed that the Vivo X20 Plus in-screen fingerprint variant will be unveiled to the world on Jan. 24.

Vivo will be holding an unveil event for the smartphone in Beijing, China on Jan. 24. It will begin at 7:30 PM local time. The launch poster does not confirm on the specifications or pricing of the smartphone. However, previous leaks have revealed that its specs will be quite similar to that of the regular X20 Plus.

Vivo X20 Plus in-screen fingerprint version will be featuring Clear ID 9500 optical under-display fingerprint sensor by Synaptics. The sensor will be placed between the glass panel and the OLED screen. Apart from unlocking the X20 Plus in about 0.6 or 0.7 seconds, the in-display fingerprint scanner can be also used for authenticating payments.

Coming to the specs of the Vivo X20 Plus in-screen fingerprint version, it will be arriving with a 6.43-inch OLED screen. It will be supporting FHD+ resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The Snapdragon 660 chipset along with 4 GB of RAM will be present under the hood of the phone. It will be featuring a native storage of 128 GB.  It will come pre-installed with Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS.

The dual camera setup featuring a 12-megapixel sensor and a 5-megapixel sensor will be residing on the back panel of the phone. It will be coming with a selfie snapper of 12-megapixel. A 3,800mAh battery will be powering the X20 Plus in-screen fingerprint version.

A previous report had revealed that the Vivo X20 Plus in-screen fingerprint variant would be carrying a price tag of 3,998 Yuan (~$625). This seems to be possible as the regular X20 Plus was introduced with a pricing of 3,498 Yuan (~$546).

Vivo has long been linked with the under display fingerprint technology developed by Qualcomm. The prototype was showcased at the Asian MWC 2017 running in an unknown Vivo smartphone. The smartphone actually is listed as Vivo X20 Plus UD version and it is believed the UD stands for Under Display. Since the device has received quality certification, it may soon hit the market. But is this really the Under display version? We can’t be so sure of that as UD could also mean Underwater Defense, that is a waterproof body and could also mean UpDate. Users can simply touch it to unlock the phone instantly. Synaptics has said that its Clear ID in-display fingerprint scanner is designed for bezel-less OLED infinity displays that are found in flagship smartphones such as Apple iPhone X and Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

A leaked video showcasing the alleged Vivo X20 that only last for few seconds has surfaced on China’s social networking site, Weibo. The video is now also available on YouTube. The quality of the video is not good, but it certainly confirms some of the leaked information of the Vivo X20.

The video begins by showing the large-sized display of the phone with slim bezels on its left and right sides. The screen seems to have black borders on all the four sides. The top and bottom bezels are a bit thick but they are quite slim compared to conventional smartphones. The smartphone can be seen sporting full metallic chassis.

The rear side of the phone can be seen only for a second. At the top-left corner of the back panel is the dual camera module and its LED flash. This contradicts previous reports that have claimed that the Vivo X20 would be featuring a single camera on its rear. The fingerprint scanner and the company’s logo are also present on the rear. The following image shows a better view of the front and rear sides of the Vivo X20.

Above the display of the phone is the selfie snapper, an earpiece and a sensor. The handset features on-screen buttons. The antenna lines are present on the upper and bottom edges of the back panel of the phone.

The Vivo X20 has already appeared alongside Vivo X20A on TENAA. Speculations have it that the Vivo X20A could be the Vivo X20 Plus phone. Recent rumors have revealed that the Vivo X20 and Vivo X20 Plus would be sporting 18:9 aspect ratio screens. The Vivo X20 is expected to arrive with a 5.2-inch display whereas the X20 Plus is speculated to arrive with a 5.5-inch screen.

Vivo X20 and Vivo X20 Plus are the upcoming smartphones from Vivo. Speculations have it that X20 duo may debut on coming Thursday in India. Fresh information that have emerged from China have revealed the alleged specifications of the Vivo X20 and X20 Plus.

Previous reports have revealed the Vivo X20 and X20 Plus would be coming with a bezel-less smartphone. The real-life images of the smartphone of the alleged Vivo X20 phone that appeared in the previous week also corroborated on the rumors of bezel-less design. Fresh details coming from Chinese media has revealed that the Vivo X20 would be featuring a 5.2-inch display and the larger Vivo X20 Plus would be fitted with a 5.5-inch screen. These displays are expected to deliver an aspect ratio of 18:9.

The Snapdragon 630 is rumored to power the Vivo X20 whereas the Snapdragon 660 may be present under the hood of the X20 Plus. Both the chipsets are speculated to be accompanied by 6 GB of RAM. The Vivo X20 may house 64 GB of inbuilt storage and the X20 Plus may come with 128 GB of native storage. The report suggests that both phones will be coming with a front-facing camera of 24-megapixel.

These handsets are expected to come preloaded with Android 7.1 Nougat OS. A leaked render of the Vivo X20 shows the front and backside of the phone. The fingerprint scanner is not visible on either side of the phone which indicates that it may feature an in-screen fingerprint reader. A 3,500mAh battery is speculated to power both phones. These phones are expected to arrive with full metallic chassis.

Since the past month, Chinese sources have been revealing information on the upcoming Vivo X20 bezel-less smartphone. Recently, it was spotted on FIFA World Cup 2018 promo posters. The handset seems to have now appeared in two live photos to reveal its front and rear sides.

The design of the bezel-less Vivo phone that has appeared in the new images resembles with the render of the Vivo X20 that appeared on FIFA World Cup 2018 posters. The new images show that the smartphone has a white body with dual rear cameras on its rear panel. It also appears to be sporting a rear-mounted fingerprint reader.

The bezels on the sides of the screen are quite thin and bezels present above and below the display are a bit thicker than the side bezels. The alleged Vivo X20 will deliver a high screen-to-body ratio. It is expected to deliver an aspect ratio of 18:9 which is same as the aspect ratio available on the LG G6 and LG V30 smartphones. It seems that the body of the Vivo X20 will be made up of metal. There is possibility that it may sport metal and glass combination design.

Reports have revealed that there would be a regular model that will launch as Vivo X20 and there would be another variant of the phone that is dubbed as Vivo X20 Plus. However, there is no information available on the differences between Vivo X20 and its Plus variant.

According to previous reports, the Vivo X20 would be fitted with a 5-inch screen that deliver a full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. The Vivo X20 Plus may feature a larger 5.5-inch or 6-inch FHD screen. The Snapdragon 660 chipset is rumored to power the Vivo X20 and Vivo X20 Plus along with 4 GB of RAM. The X20 is expected to feature a native storage of 64 GB.

In May, Vivo and FIFA had signed a contract to make the Chinese smartphone manufacturer as the official sponsor of the World Cup 2018 that will be held in Russia. Moreover, Vivo is also the official sponsor of the World Cup 2022.

There are no details available on its pricing and launch date. Since the smartphone appears to be ready in the new live photos, Vivo may announce the X20 as early as this month.
