Samsung Galaxy S10 X 5G and Huawei P30 Pro tipped to feature 12 GB RAM

A fresh leak that has surfaced from Weibo reveals that Samsung Galaxy S10 and Huawei P30 flagship phones will be launching in March 2019. The leak also reveals that the Galaxy S10 X 5G and Huawei P30 Pro models could be equipped with 12 GB of RAM.

Smartphone companies have started launching phones with 10 GB of RAM. The Xiaomi Black Shark Helo gaming phone is the first smartphone to be equipped with 10 GB of RAM followed by the newly announced Xiaomi Mi MIX 3. Nubia has also confirmed that its upcoming Red Magic 2 phone will be equipped with 10 GB of RAM. In the recent past, an Oppo Find X variant was also spotted with 10 GB of RAM on TENAA. Going by the new leak, it appears that some companies like Samsung and Huawei are now working on smartphones with 12 GB of RAM.

The below image reveals that the Galaxy S10 will be arriving in March in four variants such as Galaxy S10 with 4 GB of RAM, Galaxy S10 Plus with 6 GB of RAM, Galaxy S10 X with 8 GB of RAM and Galaxy S10 X 5G with 12 GB of RAM. Interestingly, there is no 10 GB RAM version of the Galaxy S10.

The leak also reveals that Huawei will be challenging the Galaxy S10 series with its P30 smartphones. The Huawei P30 is expected to feature 8 GB of RAM whereas the advanced P30 Pro may come with 12 GB of RAM.

As the name goes, the Samsung Galaxy S10 X 5G with 12 GB of RAM could be equipped with support for 5G connectivity. There is no mentioning of 5G support on the P30 Pro in the above leak. Huawei is also gunning towards launching its first 5G phone in 2019. Hence, there is a possibility that the P30 Pro could become the first Huawei phone to support 5G connection. Xiaomi has also confirmed that the Mi MIX 3 5G version will be announced in the first quarter of 2019.

Rumors surrounding the Galaxy S10 series have revealed that the S10 and S10 Plus phones will be equipped with 5.8-inch displays whereas the S10 X and S10 X 5G phones may feature 6.44-inch screens. Except for S10, the other models are expected to feature ultra-sonic in-display fingerprint scanner and triple rear cameras. The S10 may feature a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and a dual camera setup. The S10 Plus, S10 X and S10 X 5G models may feature dual selfie shooters. The Galaxy S10 series of smartphones are going to arrive with Android 9 Pie OS onboard.

Meizu M8 Note goes official with a 6.15-inch Full-screen display, Snapdragon 632 and more

Chinese phone maker Meizu has officially launched the Meizu M8 Note in China. Meizu is renowned for the topnotch and innovative design of its smartphones. So the sleek and beautiful design of the M8 Note isn’t much of a surprise. The device also comes with a decent price tag that reflects its hardware setup.

Meizu M8 Note is a premium budget phone that is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 632 chipset which is an upgrade over the popular Snapdragon 625 chipset. The chipset is paired with 4GB of RAM while there is 64GB of internal storage onboard. Surprisingly, the M8 Note only comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage but we expect Meizu to throw in more versions in due course.

The M8 Note presents with a huge 6.15-inch In-cell LCD display with an FHD+ resolution of 2160x1080pixels. The display comes with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The device packs a 12MP+5MP dual camera setup at the rear with the sensors aligned vertically at the middle. The camera arrangement looks similar to that of the Meizu 16X but in this case, the LED flash is at the top while at the bottom there is a fingerprint sensor. Meizu shared some camera samples captured by the M8 Note’s rear camera and they are quite impressive. We can’t say for sure if the photos weren’t enhanced.

As for the price, the Meizu M8 Note is priced at 1298 yuan ($187). The device is presently on reservation on Meizu official website, Meizu Tmall official flagship store, Jingdong, Suning Tesco and offline Meizu store. It will go on sale officially on November 1 at 00:00.

Samsung slams $1.6 million lawsuit on brand ambassador for using iPhone X in public

Samsung‘s brand ambassador in Russia Ksenia Sobchak is in hot waters with the company for using a smartphone from a competing brand. The Russian TV presenter, who also doubles as a journalist and politician is presently under contract with Samsung to promote the brand in the country. Such deals are usually juicy but they usually come with a catch. The brand ambassador will not be seen in public using a phone or product from another brand. Unfortunately, Miss Sobchak was allegedly caught in public using an iPhone X instead of the Samsung smartphone she was supposed to be promoting.

According to U.K tabloid, The Mirror, Sobchak was spotted using an iPhone X during a television interview, with the celebrity attempting to hide the Apple smartphone under a piece of paper while the cameras were rolling. Apart from this incident, there are allegations of Sobchak using the iPhone X during social events in Moscow and other TV appearances, which are seen as a flagrant disregard of the contract’s rules.

The public display of the Apple brand could also be hurting the Samsung brand she is supposed to be promoting. So, it is no surprise that Samsung has reportedly sued Sobchak for a reported 108 million rubles (approximately $1.6 million) for breach of contract. It is unknown how much Sobchak was originally paid by Samsung, but it is likely the suit’s claimed damages are far higher in value, including penalties for breaking the agreement.

She is not the first celebrity brand ambassador that will be caught in this web. In 2014, Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine promoted the launch of Samsung’s Milk Music service, including the suggestion of holding an “iPhone burning,” but one week later he was caught promoting a TV appearance from an iPhone. Levine was also due to perform at the iTunes Festival at that time. Just in April this year, Gal Gadot sent a tweet to followers in April endorsing the Huawei Mate 10 Pro, with the tweet again revealed to be sent from an iPhone. The tweet was removed and replaced by other marketing messages, with one of the star’s staffers blamed for the mixup. In all the reported cases, the iPhone is usually the preferred brand which explains why the brand still remains the most profitable despite Samsung selling more units annually each year.

Infinix has announced a new smartphone called Infinix Hot S3X in India today. The handset has arrived as an advanced version of the Infinix Hot S3 that was announced at the beginning of this year. Some of the attractive features of the smartphone include notched display, dual rear cameras and AI driven selfie camera. The handset has landed with an attractive pricing of Rs. 9,999 in the country.

Infinix Hot S3X Specifications and Features

The Infinix Hot S3X houses a 6.26-inch IPS LCD Super Full View display. The notched screen produces HD+ resolution of 720 x 1500 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. New Hisense phone with a water-drop notch launching on November 1

Hisense hasn’t released a new phone in a while. Its last known launch was in June and it was for the H20 smartphone. The electronics maker has released a new poster that reveals it has a new phone launching on November 1.

The poster not only informs us of the date of the phone’s launch but also reveals its design. As you can see in the image, the phone’s display will have the trendy water-drop notch.

In two other images of the phone released by Hisense, we get to see the entire front of the phone. Even with the notch, the phone has a bezel at the bottom. There is no fingerprint sensor on the front, so it is likely to be on the back.

The specs of the phone are unknown but a rough translation of the text on the launch poster hints at an impressive battery life. Hopefully, more details will surface before the launch next week.

Vivo Y95 tipped to debut in early November in India

In August, Vivo had launched the Vivo Y83 mid-range phone in India. Citing information received from its retail sources, 91Mobiles has claimed that the Chinese manufacturer is gearing up to launch Vivo Y95 mid-range phone as the successor for Vivo Y83 phone. The handset is tipped to debut in early November in India.

According to the publication, Vivo may announced the Vivo Y95 may get announced during the upcoming Diwali festival season in November in India. Since, it is expected to arrive as a successor for the Vivo Y83, there is a possibility that it could be packed with slightly better specs. At present, there is no information available on the specifications of the upcoming Vivo Y95 smartphone.

The Vivo Y83 features a notched 6.22-inch IPS LCD display that produces HD+ resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels along with an aspect ratio of 19:9. The MediaTek Helio P22 SoC is present under the hood of the device. The SoC is couple with 4 GB of RAM and it is equipped with 32 GB of native storage. It features a microSD card slot for additional storage.

For photography, the Vivo Y83 offers it users with f/2.2 aperture 13-megapixel rear camera. It is fitted with a front-facing shooter of 8-megapixel. The front camera of the smartphone carries support for face unlock. The handset lacks a fingerprint scanner.

Nubia Red Magic 2 arriving with 10 GB RAM, SD845 and dual cooling technology

Nubia’s Red Magic gaming smartphone brand has recently confirmed that it will be soon launching the Red Magic 2 smartphone. Since the original Red Magic gaming phone was powered by Snapdragon 835 chipset, rumors surrounding its successor have claimed that it would be powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC. Through Weibo, Red Magic has confirmed today on the key features that will be available on the Red Magic 2 phone.

The below poster has confirmed that the Red Magic 2 smartphone will be driven by Snapdragon 845 chipset. Popular tipster Roland Quandt had also previously claimed that the SD845 will be fueling the Red Magic 2 smartphone. He had also claimed that the phone would be also equipped with new shoulder buttons.

The Snapdragon 845 SoC on the Red Magic 2 will be coupled with 10 GB of RAM. The manufacturer has also included dual cooling system inside the smartphone. It comprises of air cooling and liquid cooling technologies. For enhanced gaming experience, the smartphone will also 3D surround sound output and it will also carry support for 4D shock.

There is no information available on the other specs of the Red Magic 2. The above poster suggests that the rear design of the phone won’t be very different from its predecessor. It will continue to feature a single camera sensor on its rear.

The Red Magic 2 launch date is yet to be confirmed. Its arrival may not be far away as the company has recently started selling the Red Magic phone with a discounted price. The 64 GB storage + 6 GB RAM edition of the Red Magic that was selling with a price tag of 2,299 Yuan (~$330) is now available for 2,099 (~$300) in China.

Nubia X dual screen smartphone is scheduled to go official on Oct. 31. Hence, the Chinese manufacturer may launch the Red Magic 2 smartphone at some point in November.

Meizu M8 Note slider design teased just ahead of its launch today

Meizu is scheduled to launch Meizu M8 Note today at 19:30 in Beijing, China. After Xiaomi, now it’s Meizu’s time to announce a Meizu M8 Note with a slider design. The Chinese smartphone maker announced the Note 8’s sliding design via its official Weibo handle. Well, it seems that all companies were waiting for the Mi Mix 3 launch as Lenovo is also ready to launch Z5 Pro carrying slider and now Meizu M8 Note which will come with a sliding design in just a few hours from now.

However, Meizu M8 Note is expected to carry a 6.0-inch full HD+ screen, 12MP+5MP dual rear cameras, and an 8MP selfie camera. Further, Meizu M8 Note is also expected to come with a Snapdragon 636 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

Interestingly last week, Meizu Technology Senior Vice-President, Li Nan has shared some pictures taken from the new device. The camera sample seems to carry good details even in the low light environment persisting noise. As per the data extracted from the photo’s EXIF, the Meizu M8 Note will come with a camera sensor having an aperture of f/1.9.

Additionally, handset measures 153.64 x 75.56 x 7.95mm, and it weighs 168 grams. It will have a battery capacity of 3520 mAh which is little less than that of typical 3600 mAh battery. The change in capacity might have done to fit in the new slider design. However, it will support fast charging technology and will run on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 launched with slider design, 10 GB of RAM and quad cameras

After months of leaks, Xiaomi has announced the Mi MIX 3 flagship phone through an unveil event in Beijing, China. It goes without saying that the USP of the smartphone is its manual slider design that allows the phone to sport a notch-less and bezel-less display. After the company’s Black Shark Helo gaming phone, the Mi MIX 3 is the second phone to feature 10 GB of RAM. The smartphone is also blessed with quad cameras.

Design and Display

The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 sports a ceramic rear that is curved on all four sides. It comes in three enticing color options such as Black, Emerald Green and Sapphire Blue. The Mi MIX 3 is equipped with a 6.39-inch AMOLED display that supports an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. It produces Full HD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. The other display features of the Mi MIX 3 include 60000:1 contrast ratio, 600nits brightness and 103.8 percent NTSC color gamut. According to the company, the MI MIX 3 offers a screen-to-body ratio of 93.4 percent.

There are two magnetic components underneath the display that brings forth slider mechanism on the Mi MIX 3. The slider can be customized to launch different functions such as accessing the dual selfie camera, answer phone calls, launch WeChat and or any other app.

The vertical dual camera setup on the backside of the Mi MIX 3 features a 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 main sensor with f/1.8 aperture and pixel size of 1.4micron. It is coupled with 12-megapixel Samsung S5k3M3+ secondary sensor with f/2.4 aperture and a pixel size of 1 micron. The dual rear shooters are equipped with features like optical zoom, 4-axis OIS, portrait mode and AI. The dual cameras also carry support for handheld super night scene photography. As Xiaomi had confirmed before the launch, the dual rear cameras can capture super slow-motion videos at 960 fps.

For shooting selfies, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 is equipped with LED enabled 24-megapixel Sony IMX576 + 2-megapixel dual camera setup. The primary sensor has a pixel size of 1.8micron and supports combining of four pixels into one large pixel for capturing brighter shots in low-light conditions. The dual selfie snappers are equipped with AI capabilities for capturing beautified selfie shots.

Xiaomi has confirmed that the Mi MIX 3 has score 108 and 93 points respectively on the DxOMark photography and videography benchmarks. It has attained a total DxOMark score of 103 points.

Performance and Other Features

The Snapdragon 845 chipset is at the helm of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3. It comes with up to 10 GB of RAM and multiple storage options of up to 256 GB. The smartphone is backed by a 4,000mAh battery that carries support for Quick Charge 4+ and 10W wireless charging.

The smartphone is preloaded with MIUI 10 based Android 9 Pie OS. The handset is equipped with a dedicated hardware button for accessing the Xiao AI voice assistant which can now understand 7 dialects. The other features available on the Mi MIX 3 include rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual-SIM support, dual 4G VoLTE, dual band GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11ac with 4×4 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, UBS-C and 3.5mm audio jack

This is why even before the Mix 3 launch event was officially over, DXOMark outed the official score for its camera and it’s really impressive. The independent benchmark platform gave it a high score of 103, making it the best Xiaomi smartphone camera in the market today.

Xiaomi’s recent efforts in improving its camera quality has paid off. First, it was the Mi Mix 2S that came close to the iPhone X and the Mate 10 Pro when it came to camera performance. This year’s Mi 8 even surpassed the Mix 2S with a score of 99. Now, with the Mi Mix 3 scoring 103, Xiaomi flagships are finally in the big boy club featuring top-end cameras. In fact, the phone’s 12+12MP rear cameras got a score of 108 in photo surpassing even the Note 9.

With a magnetic sliding full-screen design, powerful cameras, top of the line hardware and a competitive price tag (<$500), the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is really turning out to be a must buy in the affordable flagship segment.

Lenovo Z5 Pro coming with ~100% screen-to-body ratio on Novemeber 1

After the announcement of Lenovo S5 Pro, Lenovo is eager to launch Z5 Pro with some advanced features. Today, Lenovo took to Weibo to unleash the launch information about Lenovo Z5 Pro. As with October, it seems many new devices are getting lined up for launch in November. The new Lenovo Z5 Pro will be announced in Beijing at the Lenovo Global Headquarters on November 1st.

Lenovo group vice president Chang Cheng said that the new device is much improved and even tiny details of the phone is now polished. Lenovo Z5 Pro will be a refined product from Lenovo with the ultimate use of technology. It is reported to be the first sliding design smartphone from Lenovo.

Lenovo Z5 Pro has been in the news after the company’s Vice President, Chang-Cheng exposed it at the Lenovo TechWorld Innovation Technology Conference. He touted to its 100% screen-to-body ratio with an on-screen fingerprint sensor. If the sliding design comes out to be true, then it would compete against the recently launched Xiaomi Mi Mix 3. Xiaomi’snew device, Mi Mix 3 also features the same sliding design with 93.7% of screen-body ratio.

As per other reports, Lenovo Z5 Pro will feature Snapdragon 845 processor with 8GB RAM. Lenovo will adopt the same policy of competitive prices to get huge sales. In an interview during the launch of Lenovo S5 pro, Chang Cheng confirmed that the Lenovo Z5 Pro would be priced lower than the Xiaomi or Honor devices.

Xiaomi Mi A2 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage now listed on official site in India

Xiaomi had launched the Mi A2 Android phone smartphone in India in August. During the launch, the company had announced that the smartphone would be available in two variants such as 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage. The company has been only selling the 4 GB RAM edition of the phone in the country. The Chinese manufacturer has now listed the 6 GB RAM edition of the Mi A2 in India on its official website and Mi Store app.

Even though the Xiaomi Mi A2 is now listed on its official online store, the sales of Android One phone have not started yet. The handset is priced at Rs. 19,999 and it will be available in four color like Black, Blue, Gold and Red.

The launch offers that are available for the 4 GB RAM edition of the Mi A2 are also available for its 6 GB RAM variant. Google Chromecast 3 launched in India for Rs. 3,499 ($48)

Google has now launched the new Chromecast 3 in India, which was originally unveiled earlier this month. It is the successor to the Chromecast 2 that was first launched in September 2015.

The new third-generation of the Google Chromecast comes with the same round design with fixed HDMI cable and micro-USB power port. It has the same design aesthetics match the rest of the devices of the Made by Google family that includes Google Home, Pixel phones, Daydream View headset, etc.

The Google Chromecast 3 comes with an improved hardware that is touted to perform around 15 percent faster than the previous-generation model. The newer version also supports 60fps video streaming at full-HD (1080p) resolution.

The new model is also a bit ticker than the previous-generation device and loses the magnetic connector that was useful for managing the HDMI cable. There are more than 800 apps that are compatible with the Chromecast. It uses Wi-Fi connectivity to play online content on your TV and the casting feature can be used through an Android or iOS device.

The Google Chromecast 3 is priced at Rs. 3,499 in India, which roughly converts to $48, and is available in Charcoal color exclusively through Flipkart. We expect it to soon be available through Google Store and other online marketplaces in India.

Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 official press render leaked to reveal its three color variants

Earlier this month, a tipster from India had revealed that the upcoming Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 smartphone would be arriving in three colors like Emerald Green, Sapphire Blue and Black. Few hours before the announcement of the smartphone, the tipster has shared a leaked press render of the aforementioned color variants.

As it can be seen below, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 can be seen sporting a marvelous near bezel-less display. The chin of the device is slightly thick compared to the other bezels.

The backside of the Mi MIX 3 features a vertical dual camera setup. Even though it can’t be seen in this image, a leaked poster that had surfaced yesterday had revealed that it would be featuring a rear-mounted fingerprint reader.

A leaked hands-on video that had cropped up today has also confirmed that the phone is equipped with a fingerprint scanner on its rear. The back side of the phone seem to be made out of ceramic. A vertical dual camerasetup is available on the top-left corner of the rear shell of the Mi MIX 3.

Leaked information has so far revealed that the Mi MIX 3 is equipped with a 6.39-inch Super AMOLED screen that supports Full HD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. The Snapdragon 845 is the driving force of the smartphone. The handset is expected to get unveiled in variants such as 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. A special edition of the phone featuring 10 GB RAM + 256 GB storage is also tipped to get announced today.

The Mi MIX 3 is equipped with 24-megapixel + 20-megapixel dual camera setup on its rear. At the front, it features dual 24-megapixel selfie snapper. A 3,850mAh battery may power the phone. The handset is confirmed to carry support for faster wireless charging support. The Mi MIX 3 will be the world’s first phone to support 5G connectivity.

Xiaomi expected to break 100 million shipments in 2018, two months ahead of schedule

Maintaining a high growth rate, Xiaomi has crossed 100 million shipments target, two months ahead of its schedule. It is for the second time that Xiaomi has proposed the 100 million shipments after the year 2015. Xiaomi’s focus on mid-budget and high-end devices has allowed the company to gain these many sales. The significant aspect behind the high number of sales is its pricing which is always considerably less than the other devices in the market.

If we go with the Q2 financial report, then it is clear that Xiaomi has performed consistently throughout the year. In the Q2, 2018, Xiaomi witnessed the sale of 32 million units with 43.9% year-on-year increase. It is the highest growth rate that any company around the globe has gained recently.

Xiaomi is not only doing well in its home market, but it is also performing considerably better in the overseas market, such as India. In India, Xiaomi registered 27% of total smartphone market share in the third quarter of 2018. It has become India’s largest smartphone seller.
