Samsung’s Infinity Display full screen design can be found on flagship smartphones that have display sizes between 5.8-inches and 6.3-inches. Recent reports have revealed that the South Korean company will introduce Infinity Display design on smaller smartphones like Galaxy A7 (2018) and Galaxy A5 (2018). However, a tipster from China has revealed that the company is also working on a compact-sized Infinity Display smartphone.
Speculations are rife that the 2018 Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 smartphones would be featuring Infinity Display ranging between 5.2-inches to 5.7-inches. The tipster claims that there is a mysterious compact phone from Samsung that features an Infinity Display of less than 5-inches. Like the larger Infinity Display phones, it is likely to carry support for an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. However, he has not revealed any information on its specifications or its launch.
Compact-sized smartphones are still popular as they are pocket-friendly devices. Last year, Apple had launched a 4-inch iPhone SE smartphone. Speculations are rife that the company may debut a second-generation iPhone SE 2 in first quarter of 2018.
Some may speculate that the alleged small-sized smartphone Infinity Display could be the Galaxy A3 (2018). As mentioned above, the upcoming Galaxy A5 (2018) and Galaxy A7 (2018) are pegged to arrive with Infinity Display design. However, the rumor mill is silent on the existence of Galaxy A3 (2018).

Vivo along with OPPO and OnePlus belong to the Chinese multinational company called BBK Electronics Corporation. It ranks among the top 5 smartphone manufacturers in China. India is the other market where Vivo is quite famous. However, it is not a well-known brand outside China and India. The Chinese smartphone brand is now looking forward to expanding its business outside these regions. Fresh information suggests that the company is planning to enter markets such as Europe and Africa in 2018.
Vivo has recently entered a $4 billion of understanding (MoU) with Qualcomm. Oppo and Xiaomi too have entered the similar memorandums with the U.S. based chipmaker which increases the value up to $12 billion for 3 years.
The relationship between Vivo and Qualcomm will possibly allow Vivo to introduce 5G enabled phones in the near future. Even though many smartphone makers are testing under-display fingerprint scanner, Vivo became the first company to demonstrate in-screen fingerprint sensing technology developed by Qualcomm during the Mobile World Congress Shanghai event that was held earlier in this year.
Vivo and Qualcomm are also planning to begin the development of 3D facial identification technology along with other biometric recognition technologies like reading palm prints and iris scanning. Through the recently launched X20 and X20 Plus smartphones that are powered by Snapdragon 660 chipset, Vivo had introduced Face Wake facial recognition feature that is based on 16-megapixel selfie camera.

The OnePlus 5T flagship killer will be getting unveiled in the next week. There are conflicting rumors about the OnePlus 5T’s pricing. A recent report had claimed that the Chinese manufacturer would be selling the OnePlus 5T with the same pricing as OnePlus 5. However, a recent tweet by OnePlus CEO Pete Lau suggests that the OnePlus 5T would be carrying a higher pricing.
Cost of smartphone components is rising, but phones are also getting better. OnePlus users will appreciate what's coming.
Lau claims that the prices of the mobile phone components are increasing faster than the housing costs in Shenzhen. This suggests that the OnePlus 5T may debut with an expensive pricing. Also, earlier in this week, when a OnePlus fan had asked him whether 4,000 Yuan is sufficient for buying OnePlus 5T, Lau responded by saying that it is enough. Since then the rumor mill is speculating that the highest configuration model of the OnePlus 5T that is expected to feature 8 GB of Ram and 128 GB of storage may arrive with a pricing of 4,000 Yuan (~$602).
The OnePlus 5 with 64 GB and 128 GB storage options respectively cost 2,999 Yuan (~$452) and 3,499 Yuan (~$527). The upcoming OnePlus 5T is speculated to feature a 6-inch full screen display that may increase the cost of the OnePlus 5T. Moreover, OnePlus 5T is speculated to come with some improvements in other departments such as dual rear cameras and battery. These enhancements are also speculated to increase the cost the of the OnePlus 5T.
The original OnePlus One smartphone from 2014 was introduced with a pricing of $299. The Chinese firm has been consistently increasing the cost of its successor models. OnePlus had increased the price of the OnePlus 5 by $40 over its predecessor model. Hence, it seems that the OnePlus 5T may arrive with a slight increase in its price tag. It is speculated that the OnePlus 5T’s 64 GB model may be priced around $519 and the 128 GB model could cost nearly $579.
As far as specs are concerned, it is rumored to be driven by Snapdragon 835 chipset. It may feature a larger battery of 3,450mAh battery. The back panel is speculated to include a pair of 20-megapixel cameras and a front-mounted 16-megapixel camera. The company has confirmed that OnePlus 5T will retain the 3.5mm audio jack.
What’s your opinion on the OnePlus 5T? Will it cost higher than OnePlus 5? Share us your thoughts by adding your comments below.

President Trump of the United States is on an official visit to China. During this visit, deals between Chinese and US firms worth $250 billion dollars are expected to be signed. One of such deals already signed is a non-binding MOU between Qualcomm and Chinese smartphone makers – Xiaomi, Vivo, and OPPO.
The deal reported to be worth $12 billion will see the San Diego-based chip maker sell components to the three companies over a span of three years.
All three smartphone companies also use Taiwan’s Mediatek processors but the bulk of their phones are shipped with Qualcomm’s mobile platforms.
The chip-maker on the other hand is said to earn more than half its revenue from China. So this deal is likely in favor of all sides.

A few weeks ago, JESY release new generation J9S rugged phone. It’s the first Android phone with both IP68 and MIL-STD-810G testing standard. In short, it can be called as the strongest rugged smartphone so far. Further, to spice things up, it looks a bit different than other rugged phones.
While the number of IP68 phones are increasing, their number is still very limited. But for many, it’s a very important feature for their everyday use. While you may know IP68 standard, MIL-STE-810G standard isn’t that common and hence I think its best to get an explanation from wikipedia.
MIL-STD-810, Environmental Engineering Considerations and Laboratory Tests, is a United States Military Standard that emphasizes tailoring an equipment’s environmental design and test limits to the conditions that it will experience throughout its service life, and establishing chamber test methods that replicate the effects of environments on the equipment rather than imitating the environments themselves. Although prepared specifically for military applications, the standard is often used for commercial products as well.
The standard’s guidance and test methods are intended to:
define environmental stress sequences, durations, and levels of equipment life cycles;
be used to develop analysis and test criteria tailored to the equipment and its environmental life cycle;
valuate equipment’s performance when exposed to a life cycle of environmental stresses
identify deficiencies, shortcomings, and defects in equipment design, materials, manufacturing processes, packaging techniques, and maintenance methods; and
demonstrate compliance with contractual requirements.
JESY J9S Specs
When I first saw this phone, it’s really huge, bigger than all normal phones I have ever used. For the specs, it features a 5.5-inch full HD screen, MediaTek MT6755 octa-core processor, along with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Other features include a 16MP rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and a front shooter of 8MP. Also, there is a super-fast fingerprint sensor as well as an IR blaster on top and NFC sensor under the back. These are pretty powerful specs for rugged smartphone.
JESY J9S is powered by a huge 6150mAh battery, it’s bigger than most 5.5-inch phones. The battery went down to 11% power after 9 hours normal using from 49%. As JESY official says, it offers more than a full day use and week-long standby time. Surprisingly, it also support Qi wireless charging which is only found on some high-end smartphone.
JESY J9S Camera
The 16megapixel camera is okay for a rugged phone. The pictures taken from the phone don’t have high saturation bt overall its decent for a couple of shots. In short, its the same story as other Chinese smartphone cameras.
JESY J9S Software
JESY J9S comes with near stock Android 7.0 OS, it has full Google Play service and no extra app inside except the tools. The JESY J9S is great in terms of connectivity as well. Thanks to the MT6755 chip it supports numerous 4G LTE frequency bands. Thus it is compatible with various carriers in different countries and regions.
JESY J9S also provides some special tools app for outdoor user, including Sound Meter, Compass, Flashlight, Bubble Level, Pic Hanging, Heart Rate, Pedometer, Height Measure, Pressure, Plumb Bob, Alarm etc. These are very convenient and useful in your outdoor adventures.
Conclusion
The durability of this smartphone can’t be overstated. It’s not only certified with IP68 and MIL-STD-810G but also brings a lot of tools including a protractor, compass, torch, loupe, ruler, plummet, gradienter etc.
In my opinion, this is a great buy for travelers who love exploring the world and going into dangerous and uncommon conditions as this device can become a very good companion for them.

When Apple announced the iPhone X with a full-view screen, apart from the expansive display one other feature which stood out is the 3D facial recognition technology which the device packs. The iPhone X represents a huge change in terms of design and features for the iPhone lineup, which ever since its inception had offered users a physical home button. However. Apple decided to ditch the home button and subsequently, the Touch ID on the iPhone X, replacing it with a facial recognition system dubbed Face ID.
The iPhone X’s Face ID feature has continued to receive positive reviews even though the device is still new in the market. The implication is that rival OEMs won’t waste time before debuting a similar feature on their models. Already, there are reports that Xiaomi, as well as Samsung, are working in conjunction with Qualcomm for the use of 3D Facial recognition on their flagships. OPPO has now been fingered to be working on a Facial Recognition technology with Qualcomm. The latest report is that Xiaomi and OPPO are fine-tuning arrangements with Qualcomm for the debut of the technology on their flagships next year.
The 3D Facial Recognition technology is said to be jointly developed by Qualcomm and Wonder Vision while the sensor module will be supplied by Reliance Optoelectronics. The facial recognition solutions would reportedly enter mass production around March and April next year. Apart from the trio mentioned here, Huawei is also tipped as working with Sunny Optical Technologies to develop 3D sensor solutions for its high-end models. In China, Ophelia optical technology is also said to be developing a similar technology and is expected to cooperate with domestic manufacturers in the near future.
First, it was the full-screen design that has turned into the current trend, are we about seeing another revolution in the industry that could see a reduction in the use of fingerprint recognition technology.By the way, we don’t see the fingerprint sensor going anywhere anytime soon.

Huawei Mobile has come a long way in the last few years, moving from being a Chinese brand to a global brand. As part of its efforts to expand its popularity, it officially released a couple of its phones – Honor 8 and Mate 9 in the US market last year. However, while both phones actually received very good reviews, sales were not impressive.
Huawei plans to change things starting next year as reports from XDA say that the company has partnered with US carrier AT&T, to exclusively sell the Mate 10 Pro.
The news was first reported earlier this year by The Information which said that Huawei was in talks with AT&T to sell one of its flagship phones in Q1 2018. XDA was able to confirm the report based on obtained firmware files of the Mate 10 Pro.
First the firmware is named BLA-A09-att-us which differs from that of the international variant, BLA-L09. A dump from system/app also shows some pre-installed AT&T apps.
The US Mate 10 is said to run EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo just like the international variant. It also comes with Mozilla Firefox Browser in addition to Google Chrome.
