China has been an important market for Apple for the past few years. So, it wasn’t surprising when we heard that the Cupertino giant was all set to release the device in China too.
Apple Watch
Now a new report confirms that Apple will launch its new smartwatch in China around the same time as it makes the device official in other international markets.
The company has been promoting its new watch in the international markets since the past few weeks. Now, in the latest attempt to portray the device as a fashion icon, Apple Watch was recently seen on the cover of the YOHO fashion magazine in China. The watch was worn by the famous pop icon and actor Archie Kao. He had the white band version of the new Apple Watch Sport and there were other fashion shots too which showed off the new Apple device.
This is not the first time we are seeing the watch in a magazine. As a part of the promotion, the Apple Watch was showcased in a number of well known magazines like Self, Vogue, Style and East Touch.
The company has scheduled a special event in San Fransisco this week on March 9th where you can expect to hear more official information like release dates and international availability.
So, would you buy the new Apple Watch even with its steep price tag?
Blackview is a HongKong based smartphone manufacturer who has released a number of good looking phones in the past few years. The company has slowly expanded into international territories too and is famous for its beautifully designed smartphones.
One of the most popular Blackview products is the Blackview Ultra which takes its design inspiration from Apple’s iPhone 6. As a result, the phone looks extremely good and retails for less than $199 which makes it a great buy. There many other good looking products too, like Blackview Omega, Ultra A6 etc.
In fact, the company was present at MWC 2015 this year to show off its products at the event. Blackview was present at Booth Congress Square #7D81 at MWC in Barcelona, Spain this year. The company had specifically prepared a demonstration center to display its products at the booth.
Here are some of the pictures from the booth at MWC this year.

Its good to see domestic companies like Blackview and ZOPO show off its new launches at a premier event like MWC. This clearly shows that they have plans to improve and establish themselves as a reputed brand in the global markets.
Meizu MX4 Pro was announced back in November last year. It builds upon the positives of the MX4, bringing in a larger display with better resolution and a fingerprint sensor too.
Naturally, with its high end specs, the phone was priced well above $500 officially. However, like we reported recently, at third party retailers, the phone was selling at a much lower price, around $450. Now, it looks like the company has decided to cut down its flagship’s price, officially.
Meizu MX4 Pro will be available to purchase from the company’s official store for 2199 / 2399 and 2799 Yuan for 16GB / 32GB and 64GB respectively. This is a great price for a device with such high end specifications and will definitely boost the sales of the phone to a great extent. The exact reason of the price cut is not yet known, but it could be to directly compete with the 2299 Yuan Xiaomi Mi Note.
Naturally, seeing the price cut, the third party sellers too have decided to bring down the price of the device. According to our research, we have found the Meizu MX4 Pro on Oppomart for just $379.
Oppomart usually stocks up high end Chinese products and the 16GB version in three different colors namely, gray, silver and gold are now available for $379 on the retailer’s website. If you are looking for the 32GB variant, you can get that too in the above mentioned three colors for an additional $50.
At present, the Meizu MX4 Pro looks like a great buy. The powerful Exynos 5430 processor, 3GB RAM, 5.5-inch 2K display, 20.7MP Sony rear camera and the fingerprint sensor makes it one of the best value for money devices in the market right now.
Although Mediatek has been gaining ground recently in the smartphone chip manufacturing industry, well established companies still prefer the chips from Qualcomm for their devices.
Things have changed a bit in the past few months, since a number of new OEMs have decided to go with Mediatek’s low cost yet powerful chips and Sony has been one of them. We recently saw the Sony Xperia E4G, an affordable entry level model running the new Mediatek 64-bit chip. Looks like this will mark a new partnership with Mediatek for its upcoming smartphones.
The first Sony phone to run on a Mediatek SoC was the Xperia C S39h model. However, after that, for some reason, the company decided to stick with Qualcomm for its smartphones. Now, a new report states that after Xperia E4, the Japanese smartphone maker may have many more devices in partnership with Mediatek this year.
The Xperia E4 sports the old MT6582 quad-core SoC. However, in the updated Xperia E4G model, a Mediatek MT6732 64-bit quad-core SoC will be present which clearly shows the company’s willingness to try out other Mediatek chipsets.
Now, Taiwan media reports that the company is in talks to release new smartphone based on Mediatek’s powerful MT6752 octa-core 64-bit chipset. It is said that this powerful chipset will give the company’s products price advantage as compared to other competitors. The same report states that it may even go with the chipmaker’s high-end lineup like MT6795 for its new products.
However, please note that Sony is yet to confirm any additional Mediatek powered phones for 2015 and hence, we cannot be sure of anything unless the company officially confirms the news.
HTC recently announced the new HTC One M9 flagship at MWC 2015. While the device is all set to hit the Chinese markets soon, a new report says that the company may have more than one device to release in the domestic market.
Three new variants of the new HTC E9 smartphone was recently spotted online, namely the HTC E9t, E9pt and E9pw. There are not many differences between the three models except for the network connectivity options. So, it looks like each model is targeted at a specific carrier in the country. The first two models, the E9t and E9pt support GSM / TD-SCDMA / TD-LTE networks. On the other hand, the E9pw has additional network connectivity options namely GSM / TD-SCDMA / WCDMA / TD-LTE / LTE FDD network.
Although the specs are targeted at the high end market, the design may differ from the recently announced all metal HTC One M9. The last year’s HTC E8 stripped down the metal body in favor of a cheaper polycarbonate body. So, this year’s E9 too is expected to come with the same material.
Last Year’s HTC E8
Tech specs wise, the E9 will feature a 5.5-inch 2K display and will be powered by the new Mediatek MT6795 octa-core 64-bit processor clocked at 2.0 GHz. There will be 3GB RAM onboard and it will come with Android 5.0 Lollipop version out of the box. It looks like HTC has incorporated the same 20MP Toshiba camera at the back along with a 4MP ultrapixel unit up front.
The company is expected to announce the device by the end of this month, or at least by early April. Pricing and availability details are still not available but expect it to be much cheaper than the HTC One M9.
New reports have emerged saying that Tencent, the parent company of the popular messenger QQ has set its eye on the growing drone market. The source reveals that the company will launch a new four rotor drone in partnership with Shenzen Jiuxing Smart Aviation Technology Co. Ltd. sometime later in May. The price tag of the device is expected to be 5999 Yuan which comes to around $957. This is a pretty steep price even for a drone, however, expect some high end hardware on this four rotor device.
It is said that Tencent will be primarily responsible for promoting the device. Jiuxing has been testing this military grade drone and perfecting it for some time now. So, its basically a partnership wherein Jiuxing will provide the technology and Tencent will take care of promoting and selling it.
At the moment, the company is looking to launch the new F350 drone. Jiuxing has a number of drones in the market, like the F350, F450 and F550, but the company is initially focused on the F350 model. If the response is good, it may even expand its lineup later.
The F350 drone is a four rotor device with integrated design. The UAV features integrated remote control, GPS, and power transfer. The rotors are high performance, brushless and produces very little noise. The F350 has even an automatic hover function.
The drone has an inbuilt camera, with the option of adding a more advanced PTZ (Pan Tilt Zoom) cam on the device. The propellers are made of carbon fiber and are built to last. Installing and starting up the drone is pretty easy.
Tencent and Jiuxing not only plans to sell the F350 but also provide ancillary services such as training and other outreach activities. Tencent could benefit a lot from its new drones equipped with cameras as they would be ideal for shooting and sharing videos on its video platform.
The company will reportedly sell the device this May, so expect more information in the next few weeks.
HTC expanded its Desire family around a month back with the new HTC Desire 826. The phone continues with the same design profile as its predecessors with curved edges and a dual tone color design.
Before we look at the HTC Desire 826 Unboxing, lets take a look at the phone’s hardware.
As for the tech specs, the Desire 826 features a Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB / 32GB internal storage options. At the front, there will be a large 5.5-inch display with Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. The rear camera will of 13MP with LED flash while the front shooter will be 4MP Ultrapixel sensor unit. The phone supports 4G LTE networks along with other standard connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. It runs on the latest Android 5.0.2 OS. Finally at the back, there will be a 2600 mAh battery to power all these specs.
As expected, Huawei as also present at MWC 2015 held in Barcelona, Spain. The Chinese giant announced its first ever smartwatch at the event and it is one of the best smartwatches that we have seen till date.
Huawei CEO, Yu Chengdong was present at the event and in an interview, he said that the smartphone industry will reshuffle in the next three to five years. Only three major smartphone manufacturers will survive in the market by that time. Naturally, he considers Huawei to make it to the top three, however, the rest of companies, even some from the top will soon be forgotten.
Chengdong added that Huawei makes sure it stays ahead of the competitors by investing significantly in R&D. In fact, according to him, only few companies in the industry can match Huawei’s R&D team. Although Huawei is considered in the class of Xiaomi, OnePlus ones and Lenovo, he believes that the company is good enough to compete with giants such as Apple and other silicon valley tech companies.
He says that their true competitors are not these Chinese companies but giants from the western world. In fact, he says that most Chinese smartphone makers will soon perish giving way for Huawei to become the market leader.
IDC reports show that Huawei is indeed growing rapidly. Last year, the company generated sales of over $74 million, growing by more than 54% as compared to 2013. The market share of the company rose from 4.8% in 2013 to 5.7% last year.
Although the company failed to get to the $80 million sales target, Chengdong adds that it was due to the increased focus on high end devices. The company now aims to sell about 90 million to 100 million smartphones this year.
Given the timing of the launch, the Huawei watch will directly compete with Apple Watch. However, he says that his company’s watch is much better than Apple.
Huawei is yet to expand aggressively in developed markets like US, and there have been several allegations about national security threat by using Huawei’s equipments. However, he dismisses all these allegations by saying that one of the main reasons Hauwei decided to adopt Google’s Android platform for its phones and tablets is because of the vast variety of third party apps and features on the Android OS. Moreover, a third party OS will definitely help the company fight such allegations.
When talking about Xiaomi, he said that most people refer to the company’s marketing and sales when it comes to measuring success, and Xiaomi has managed to work on them. However, in the long run, technological innovation will drive the growth of the company and hence, the companies that look quite successful right now may not survive in the long run.
Huawei still cannot be regarded as one of the top smartphone makers, but it shows promise and we will have to wait and watch how the company evolves in the next few years as a consumer products manufacturer.
After Nokia launched Android tablet , Finland’s Nokia is making Android phone again seeing the competition, It will be it its first Android5.0 Phone from Nokia, the Nokia 1100 , the current machine running points lead coming out .
A suspected Nokia’s new phone appeared in GeekBench database , which the new code Nokin 1100, Almost everyone would be knowing that historic Nokia 1100, but 1100 is emerging following the N1 genuine Android equipment , the phone is equipped with Android 5.0 system ,the memory is relatively small, estimated to be 512MB but it could be that its just for tesing reasons. It is worth noting that Nokia’s new machine uses a MediaTek MT6582 quad-core 1.3GHz processor , the memory on its 512BM form a super low-end configuration , showing the advances of Finland’s Nokia MediaTek cheap hand again entered the low-end market intentions. However, A big question arises that can a phone with 512MB can run android 5.0? Well if we think of past even the phones like Sasumng galaxy y used to have lollipop but now it runs kitkat smoothly on a CUstom kernel. Nokia is trying to enter the budget segment with this phone, It would also be a hit, but 512MB RAM is just too low seeing today world. The phone would arrive early next year. Seeing the Specs, the phone should be around 75$ – 100$ or even less.

A few days back, we reported that Google might partner up with a Chinese OEM for its next Nexus device. Later, we came to know that that along with this Chinese OEM, Google will also partner with LG for a new Nexus device in 2015.
Now, Kevin Yang, the Director of China Research at iSuppli, a leading market research firm, confirmed on Weibo earlier today that Google has indeed chosen Huawei as the next Nexus maker. This is in line with the previous reports about Huawei entering into a partnership with Google to make this year’s Nexus device.
The major reason why Google went with Huawei could be because its the biggest competitor to Xiaomi at the moment. While everyone would have loved a Xiaomi Nexus device (in fact our recent survey showed that 43% readers would have liked a Xiaomi made Nexus), Huawei too has shown great promise in 2014 with releases like the Ascend Mate 7 and the Honor 6 Plus. Still, its very surprising that Google did not choose Motorola for its new device this year.
Now that we are almost sure that Huawei could be the next Nexus maker, we will have to wait and see whether they go with Huawei’s Kirin processor for the new device or with Qualcomm’s snapdragon range. Both are quite capable but will Google risk putting the new Kirin range in its smartphone/ tablets? Well, only time will tell.
While Android Lollipop update have already started rolling out to a number of flagship smartphones this year, Meizu is yet to update its devices like the MX4 Pro and the Meizu MX4 to the new Android version. The company has been developing its Flyme version based on Android lollipop since November last year, but up till now, there were no signs of an official roll out by the company.
Now, Yang Yan, the chief designer of Meizu’s Flyme OS has said that the company will try hard to release the new Flyme version based on Android 5.0 Lollipop by the end of March. However, the exact date of release will depend upon the progress of development. This is definitely good news for the MX4 users who have been patiently waiting for the phones to be updated to the new Android version. The latest OS brings a ton of improvements, including better battery life on Android devices, so its not surprising that everyone wants the update as soon as possible.
We will let you know when the company starts rolling out the new Flyme version with Android lollipop on MX4 and MX4 Pro smartphones.
Back in January, we saw a leaked image which showed off the product roadmap of Mediatek this year. According to the image, the company was developing a low cost quad-core processor in the MT65xx lineup which was scheduled to release in Q2 2015. Looks like we just saw the first smartphone powered by this MT6580 processor, namely the Alcatel Pixi 3 (5.5).
Alcatel was pretty busy this year announcing a number of gadgets at MWC 2015. In fact, a number of the company’s devices had the same name which made things a bit confusing. For example, the Alcatel Onetouch Idol 3 has two different version and so does the Alcatel Pixi 3 (5.5). There is a 4G LTE variant of the device as well as a 3G variant of the device.
However, the differences does not end there. The processor is different and so is the battery capacity and a lot of other stuff. While the 3G variant is powered by this new MT6580 processor, the 4G LTE one will come with QCT 8909. There will be 1GB of RAM onboard along with 8GB internal storage on both the devices.. Surprisingly, the 3G variant has a larger 2910 mAh battery as compared to the 2800 mAh battery found on the 4G compatible model.
So it looks like Mediatek is right on schedule when it comes to releasing its SoCs and we still have some exciting new processors coming later this year like the 20nm MT6796.
Don’t expect great performance from the MT6580 processor, since its targeted at the low cost budget segment. But we would like to see how the chip ranks in the benchmark tests to get a fair idea about its capability.
A few weeks earlier we reported that LeTV, one of China’s top video content provider was planning to enter the smartphone industry with a new high end device. Although the company is new to the smartphone industry, last year Letv launched its own internet Smart TV and it has received very good response. Now, the company is looking to further diversify its portfolio by entering the already crowded smartphone market and it looks like we may have the first glimpse of the company’s rumored device.
Recently, the benchmark entries as well as an image of the device was leaked online. First of all, they reveal that the phone will be called as the Letv X600. Unlike earlier predictions which said that the phone could run on Snapdragon 810 processor, now latest reports suggests that the phone will run on the new 64-bit Mediatek eight core chipset, MT6795. This particular processor is one of the best in the market right now and it is proved by the 50000+ score on the new AnTuTu v5.6.1 version. The new chip now called as the Helio X10 is definitely powerful and at par with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810.
The MT6795 is an octa-core chipset clocked at 1.9GHz. Along with this powerful SoC, the phone is said to come with 2GB RAM and 5.5-inch full HD 1080p resolution display. Finally, given that LeTV is a video content provider and distributor it is said that the new Letv X600 will feature high end Hi-Fi chips and powerful camera hardware for the best audio and video performance.
As of now, the release date or pricing details have not yet been leaked, however, Letv usually prices its products low as compared to competitors. The company makes up for this loss with its content, and this particular strategy has been quite successful in boosting the sales as well as the revenue of the company last year.
Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 may be seeing a competitor in it’s midst, with MTK releasing it’s latest “MTK Pump Express Plus” that boasts fast charging as well. It has a charging output voltage of 9V but output voltage of 7V is also provided.
The first mobile phone carrying this technology will be Koobee Halo 3 while MTK has released Pump Express Plus for MT6595, MT6732 and other charging technology platforms. This is a model HF-QC-084 charger and has an MT6732 platform for mounting the first mobile phone, Koobee Halo 3 as mentioned. The charger offers an input of 100-240V and is compatible with the global grid voltage. It offers an output charging voltage of 5V 1.67A(8035W), 7V 1.67A(11.69W), and 9V 1067A(15.3W). It stands at one of the fastest MTK phone charger with it’s capability to charge from 0 to 75% battery in 30 minutes for 2060 mobile battery; charging for five minutes allows call time for up to 2 hours.
In terms of security, MTK and power management chip solution providers offer a range of standard specification dialog. The adapter offers port overload protection, system temperature protection, battery voltage protection, battery fuse protection and a comprehensive approach to cell phone safety.
Pump Express Plus MTK is designed to charge 45% faster than chargers available on the market for smart phones, tablet PCs and other mobile devices. It can delivery power faster to batteries, shortening charging time. There is a big market for charging technology and with that Pump Express Plus is offering, Qualcomm is not the only competitor that should be worried. Mobile and tablet PC users should be looking forward to seeing more fast charging technologies in the market soon!

Graphene is a recently discovered wonder substance which is an extremely good conductor of heat and electricity. Since its discovery, scientists and researchers have been increasingly working on new products based on graphene. The excellent chemical, mechanical and electrical property of the material has opened up several areas where it can be used, one being the smartphone industry.
And it looks like, we have the first batch of graphene phones. The first smartphone made from graphene has unsurprisingly come from China. The country has over 2200 patent applications for the material as of 2014, nearly half of the world.
The phone manufactured and made available for sale by the company Galapad will be called as the SETTLER α. It will feature a 5.5-inch touch screen display made of graphene with full HD 1080p resolution. Graphene touch screens are much more sensitive than regular ones. Inside, there will be a 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor along with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. At the back, will be an 8MP camera and up front, there will be a 5MP shooter. Finally, it will also support 4G LTE networks for super fast internet speeds. Retail price is around $406.
There are a number of advantages of using graphene in smartphones. First of all, as mentioned above, the graphene made touch screens are much more sensitive and produce better colors. These touch screen panels can transmit up to 97.7% light. The use of graphene in batteries help increase the overall battery life and standby time of the device drastically. Finally, the material is a good conductor of heat and it helps reduce the temperature of the device to a maximum of 35 degree Celsius.
MEIZU’s CEO showed mx5’s home button
at his weibo today, it seems that the new phone would be a great upgrade over Mx4.
J.Wong saidthey can only do something like the home key with fingerprint recognition, but he also stressed that many years ago M8 own Home button on the phone’s shape is similar to that. Lets see what Meizu will bring, It is also rumured that the phone will have a 41MP Primary Shooter.
Last Year Meizu Launched it’s Flagship, Mx4, Mx4 is one of the most popular phone made by Meizu, Meizu has a reputation for making premium devices, and the MX4 is no exception. It caught more attention perhaps when it topped the AnTuTu chart of 2014. A phone with just .2 mm bezels on either side of display and a surprise Mediatek MT6595 octacore processor. It is coupled with 2GB of RAM and PowerVR G6200 GPU. The phone was a big hit.
Mx5 will be available in China in the next Half of the Year.
Gionee announced the new Gionee Elife S7 flagship smartphone back at MWC yesterday. Like predicted, the phone is 5.5-inches thin making it exactly as thin as the older Gionee S5.5. However, the company has smartly focused on other practical aspects of the device like battery life and built quality rather than just slimness of the phone.
The phone features a U shaped skeleton with aviation grade alloy and stainless steel sheet with nano-plastic coating. The company has particularly researched a lot on battery saving methods and has incorporated them on to the new device. For example, the 5.2-inch AMOLED display up front features ACL tech which reduces power consumption by over 25%. A sensor hub directly integrated into the chipset makes sure that the CPU has to wake up 20% less often.
At the time of launch, the company revealed that the phone will be available for sale for 400 Euros which comes to around $447. In the domestic market, Gionee Elife S7 was listed on both JD.com and Suning Tesco retailers. On JD the phone was initially listed at 2699 Yuan which comes to $430, however, now the phone has disappeared altogether. The exact reason of the disappearance is not known, however it could be because the pricing is still not confirmed.
Moreover, the Gionee Elife S7 is listed on Suning Tesco too, but even there the pricing is not yet revealed. It looks like the company has not yet finalized the price tag in the mainland China. Usually, the phone should retail for less than the international price in the home market, so 2699 Yuan seems like a decent price. However, now that the phone has been taken off the website, it may happen that the company may change its price tag.
The phone is expected to go on sale from March 20 starting 10:00 AM. Initially, the Los Angeles Black and North Pole White version will be available for purchase but we expect the midnight blue to start selling a few weeks after the sale opens.
The phone features the 64-bit Mediatek MT6752 octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz with 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage. There will be a 5.2-inch display up front with an 8MP selfie shooter on top. The 13MP rear camera unit will be one of the thinnest in the market to fit perfectly inside its 5.5mm thin body. The 2750 mAh battery is capable of providing up to two days of usage time, which is pretty impressive considering the slim design profile of the device.
