However, all three phones are mid-rangers. There is a possibility it has a special flagship phone for Europe coming soon which is different from the Aquos R2 it launched in Japan earlier this year. The phone was seen at IFA 2018 and there are rumors it may even launch next week in Japan before heading back to Europe.

The Sharp phone whose model number is 801SH is codenamed “Johnny”. It has a 6.2-inch flexible OLED display with a 3120 x 1440 resolution. There is a wide notch at the top but sadly doesn’t house more than a front-facing camera and the usual sensors. This is a bit disappointing as all that space could have housed an advanced face unlock system.

The Sharp 801SH is powered by a Snapdragon 845 processor with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Unlike the Aquos R2 which has dual rear cameras, this Sharp flagship has just a single camera on the rear. It is a 23MP sensor and it sits in the middle of the device. There is a fingerprint sensor below the camera setup.

The battery capacity of the phone isn’t known and so also is the pixel count of the front-facing camera. One thing that is known though is that the phone is running Android 9 Pie.

READ MORE: Sharp Aquos D10 launched in Europe with Snapdragon 630

While the Sharp 801SH does pack flagship specs, it has an interesting design. The display not only has a notch but it curves on the sides giving it a very premium appearance. For a flagship phone like this, you’d expect it to have a glass or at least metal back but Roland Quandt who had a hands-on experience with the phone says it’s covered in plastic.

If the phone does launch next week, we should be able to tell if this is Sharp’s version of the Pocophone F1.

The Kirin 980 is not only the first 7nm processor in the world, it is also the first chipset with the new Cortex-A76 CPU cores; the first chipset with a dual-NPU; the first with the Mali-G76 GPU, the first with a Cat. 21 LTE modem, and the first chipset to support 2133MHz LPDDR4X. That’s so many firsts!

The Kirin 980 has 8 cores in a tri-cluster arrangement (2+2+4). The four Cortex-A76 cores are separated into two – one set is clocked at 2.6GHz while the other is clocked at 2.2GHz. The former takes on high demanding short-term tasks while the latter handles high-demanding long-term tasks. The power-saving Cortex-A55 cores are clocked at 1.8GHz and handle simple everyday tasks. Huawei says it uses a flex-scheduling system which distributes tasks among the cores.

The Kirin 980 also has a new ISP with a 46% increase in performance over last year’s model. It also brings a 23% improvement in recording power efficiency, and a 33% improvement in recording latency. There is also the new dual NPU chipset termed “Dual-Brain Power” that is about 120% faster than the NPU in the Kirin 970.

For the Wi-Fi chipset, Huawei is going with its own in-house chipset – the Hi1103. It supports 802.11ac offering speeds up to 1732Mbps. It also supports 2×2 MIMO.

The Kirin 980 has a total of 6.9 billion transistors and will be mass-produced by Taiwan’s TSMC. It will first appear in the Huawei Mate 20 and Huawei Mate 20 Pro.

The Chinese manufacturer has now confirmed through another poster that it will be debuting Axon 9 Pro soon later this month. It has also revealed that the smartphone will be sporting a design that is very similar to the Apple iPhone X.

Few months ago, ZTE spotted trademarking Axon 9 and Axon 9 Pro monikers. Moreover, earlier rumors had claimed that the Axon 9 would be sporting an 18:9 aspect ratio display. ZTE is yet to confirm on the existence of the Axon 9, but the Axon 9 Pro poster reveals it will be sporting a notched display design and vertical dual cameras like the iPhone X. The back panel of the phone is equipped with a fingerprint scanner. There is a possibility that ZTE may announce Axon 9 as well as Axon 9 Pro at IFA 2018.

There is no information available on the specifications of the Axon 9 Pro, but it is very likely to feature Snapdragon 845 SoC. The handset will be arriving as the successor of the older and well-received Axon 7 smartphone. The below image belongs to the Axon 9 that were released six months ago.

The handset sports a different design as it features a notch-less 18:9 aspect ratio display. The upper bezel of the phone seems to feature dual selfie snapper. A vertical dual camera is placed on its back panel. The back panel of the phone lacks a fingerprint reader. Its rumored specs include 6-inch AMOLED screen with QHD+ resolution, Snapdragon 845 SoC, 64 GB of storage, 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB / 256 GB storage, 20-megapixel main sensor on the rear and 13-megapixel primary sensor on the front.

Now, the company is all set to launch its successor as it has managed to get the ban lifted which barred it from doing business with US-based companies.

Earlier, the company had sent out media invites for the IFA 2018 in Berlin from August 31 to 5th September. Now, the company has sent out official invites for the Axon 9 launch event on August 30 and has also shared the invite of the launch through Weibo. The invite has a big ‘9’ written on it, clearly hinting at the Axon 9.

The image also mentions 5G, hinting that the phone could be a 5G-enabled device. The phone is also expected to come with the trendy full-screen display having 18:9 aspect ratio. There’s also dual-camera setup on the back, for improved imaging capabilities.

Based on the previous reports, the Axon 9 is expected to come with a 6-inch QHD+ display and will be powered by Qualcomm‘s flagship Snapdragon 845 processor. It could come in two variants, one with 4GB RAM and another with 6GB RAM.

As for the internal storage, it’ll start with 64GB onboard storage and will max out at 256GB. The device, which is expected to be 5G-enabled, will be running Android Oreo operating system out-of-the-box. Currently, no more details are available regarding the phone.

On Thursday, August 16, one of its official Twitter accounts released a poster announcing that the Chinese corporation will be at this year’s IFA holding in Berlin, Germany. The poster does hint at a 5G related reveal but that may not be the only thing we get to see. As you can see, there is an outline of a phone in the image as well.

Other than the hint in the poster, those who have received ZTE’s invitation said there is a 9 in the letter which may be a teaser for the Axon 9. Therefore, it is believed that the Axon 9 will be announced at the event.

The Axon 9’s existence was confirmed earlier this year by the company’s CEO who said it is the successor to 2016’s Axon 7. Later, alleged photos of the device leaked which revealed it will have a display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and dual rear cameras.

The display is said to be a 6” QHD+ panel and there will be a Snapdragon 845 chipset powering the phone. RAM will be 4GB/6GB and storage will start at 64GB and max out at 256GB. The phone is also expected to come with Android Oreo out of the box.

The series may also include another premium device with Porsche Design Mate 20 moniker or something similar. Rumors are rife that the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro may debut in October. Today, Huawei Consumer Business Group (CBG) CEO Richard Yu has confirmed through a press release that the Mate 20 series will be unveiled in October.

The press release states that the Mate 20 will debut with the world’s first 7nm chipset in October. The exact specs of the Kirin 980 are not known yet. However, the press release has mentioned that the rumors claim that it features quad cores of Cortex A76 CPU and four cores of Cortex A55 CPU that can deliver maximum processing speeds of up to 2.8 GHz. What’s confirmed through the press release is that compared to other 10nm chipsets, the 7nm Kirin 980 will consume 40 percent less power and it will be 20 percent faster. For improved AI performance, it will be arriving with an enhanced AI processor.

Huawei had recently confirmed that it will be announcing the Kirin 980 chipset at the forthcoming IFA 2018 tech trade show that will take place at Berlin, Germany at the end of this month. The press release has no information on the specs of the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro.

While the company has not revealed what device it plans to announce at the launch event, it is likely to launch BlackBerry KEY2 LE.

Last week, the images of the KEY2 LE smartphone surfaced online, as well as the phone’s specifications have also leaked. It is expected to be available in four color options — Black, Red, Blue, and Copper.

The BlackBerry KEY2 LE will come with a 4.5-inch Full HD display with 1620 x 1080 pixels screen resolution, 443ppi pixel density, and 3:2 aspect ratio. The display is protected from minor scratches by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Under the hood, the device will be powered by Qualcomm‘s Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz, coupled with Adreno 509 graphics processor. It’ll pack 4GB RAM and will have two options for onboard storage — 32GB and 64GB. There’ll be a microSD card, allowing users to further expand the phone’s storage capacity up to 2TB.

For photography, the phone features a 13-megapixel rear camera sensor with dual-tone LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper. As with the BlackBerry’s usual design, the phone comes with a 4-row Physical QWERTY backlit keyboard with capacitive touch. There’s a fingerprint sensor embedded into the space bar for added security. However, it lacks the trackpad functionality that we saw KeyOne and Key2.

Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4 & 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5 LE, and GPS / GLONASS. The phone will be running Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out-of-the-box and will be fuelled by a 3,500mAh battery.

Today, the Chinese manufacturer has released a new teaser to hint that the upcoming Mate 20 Pro would be equipped with a huge battery.

The below teaser shows that the Huawei P10 Plus that came in February 2017 featured a 3,750mAh battery. The Mate 10 Pro from October 2017 included a 4,000mAh battery. The same-sized battery is also available on the P20 Pro smartphone that was unveiled earlier this year. The right side of the teaser shows that Huawei has been consistently increasing of the battery on its flagship smartphones.

There is a blank spot at the bottom which suggests the user to guess on the battery size of Huawei’s upcoming flagship phone. It hints that the Mate 20 Pro will be coming with the largest battery that the company has ever used in its smartphone. The older Ascend Mate 7 had featured 4,100mAh battery.

In the previous week, XDA Developers had revealed through the leaked firmware files had revealed that the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro may arrive with 4,200mAh battery. Another leak had revealed that the Mate 20 duo will be carrying support for 40W fast charging.

The Mate 20 Pro is also expected to arrive with ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner. It is speculated that the Samsung Galaxy S10 arriving in early 2019 will be also featuring the same kind of fingerprint scanning technology. The Mate 20 Pro is also rumored to be equipped with 3D structured light module for 3D facial scanning. Hence, there is a possibility that the handset may feature a notched screen. It is likely to arrive with a massive AMOLED display of around 6.9 inches.

The Mate 20 Pro is expected to feature 40-megapixel + 20-megapixel + 8-megapixel triple camera setup engineered by Leica. It goes without saying that the Kirin 980 SoC that will be getting unveiled at the IFA 2018 at the end of this month will be driving force of the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro. The SoC is expected to deliver a maximum processing speed of 2.8 GHz. It will be preinstalled with Android 9 Pie flavored EMUI 9.0. T

The company is now rumored to be working on Razer Phone 2 as a successor for the last year’s model. Fresh information shared by none other Razer Global VP Chen Xiaoping suggests that Razer Phone 2 will go official by the end of this year in China.

During the ongoing ChinaJoy 2018 tech expo in Shanghai, Chen has revealed that a new Razer device powered by the Qualcomm chipset will be announce by the end of 2018. However, he did not confirm on the name of the device. Probably, he could be talking about the Razer Phone 2 smartphone.

The newest Qualcomm flagship that is currently available in the market is the Snapdragon 845. Some rumors are claiming that the Razer Phone 2 may feature the Snapdragon 855 that is expected to get announced in December. However, it may so happen that Razer may announce the Razer Phone 2 with Snapdragon 845 in November just as the predecessor smartphone was launched in the same month in 2017.

In the recent past, some manufacturers have launched gaming-centric smartphones such as Xiaomi Black Shark, Nubia Red Magic, ASUS ROG Phone, Honor Play and Honor Note 10. The original Razer Phone was not launched in China, but the upcoming Razer Phone 2 is likely in the country to rival with aforementioned gaming phones.

At present there is no information on the specifications of the Razer Phone 2. However, it is likely to feature 120 Hz display and 8 GB of RAM like the original Razer Phone. The company may house a 4,000mAh or larger battery inside the Razer Phone 2.

It is speculated that Razer may announce Project Linda at IFA 2018. It is a laptop-like device which features a slot to place the Razer Phone and use its screen as touchpad. The notebook is powered by Razer Phone’s Snapdragon 835 SoC and 8 GB RAM. The screen of the phone may function as a secondary display.

However, a UK-based retailer named MobileFun had listed the smartphone on its site in the previous week even though Sony is yet to confirm on its existence. The same retailer has listed protective cases for Xperia XZ3 made by Olixar. The case renders available on the listing has once again revealed the design of the smartphone.

The case renders tell a lot about the appearance and form factor of the upcoming Xperia XZ3. The front design of the smartphone is same as Xperia XZ2 that was unveiled earlier this year which suggests that it could be featuring an 18:9 aspect ratio display.

The only dual camera smartphone from Sony is the Xperia XZ2 Premium that was unveiled in April. The newly spotted case renders show that the Xperia XZ3 could be the next dual camera phone from the Japanese firm. In fact, the Xperia XZ3 is expected to feature the exact same 19-megapixel + 12-megapixel Motion Eye dual camera setup that is available on the Xperia XZ2 Premium. The XZ3 is also rumored to feature the same 13-megapixel front camera present on the XZ2 Premium.

[envira-gallery id="202595"]

The dual camera setup is placed in a vertical design on the XZ3. Below it is the fingerprint scanner which is positioned at the center of the back panel. Since the protective case for the smartphone is ready, its arrival could be very close at hand. Now that the Japanese firm has recently confirmed that it will be holding a launch event on Aug. 30 at IFA 2018, the Xperia XZ3 may get announced at the said date. The company may also launch Xperia XZ3 Compact alongside it.

MobileFun’s Xperia XZ3 listing had revealed that it features a 5.7-inch display that supports Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The Snapdragon 845 SoC and 6 GB of RAM are present under the hood of the phone. It has a native storage of 64 GB. The handset receives power from 3,240mAh battery. It was listed with a price tag of 849 euros (~$993).

A fresh report has revealed that the maximum frequency of the Kirin 980 will be 2.8 GHz and the SoC will be built with 7nm process technology by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC).

The Kirin 980 SoC is expected to include quad cores of Cortex A77 CPU and quad cores of Cortex A55. Rumors have it that for the first time Huawei may pack its own graphics processor inside it. The performance of the GPU of the Kirin 980 is speculated to be 1.5 times better than Adreno 630 that comes with Snapdragon 845.

Earlier this year, Huawei owned HiSilicon had introduced Balong 765 as the world’s first chip to support LTE Cat. 19 that supports maximum downloads at 1.6Gbps. Speculations are rife that the Kirin 980 may feature it.

Just as the Kirin 970 had arrived with a dedicated NPU unit, the Kirin 980 that is arriving as it successor will be also equipped with second-generation NPU 1M unit for enhanced AI performance. Cambricon Technologies that had worked with HiSilicon for building the NPU unit for Kirin 970 will be providing the second-generation NPU unit for Kirin 980 that is expected to deliver 5 trillion calculations per watt. Depending on AI processing required, it will be available in dual, quad and octa-core versions. Also, the smartphones powered by the new SoC will also be equipped with GPU Turbo graphics acceleration technology.

The Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro are pegged to arrive as the first smartphones with Kirin 980 onboard. Earlier this year, the AnTuTu listing of the Kirin 980 powered Mate 20 Pro had surfaced with an extraordinary average benchmarking score of 356,819.

Huawei has recently launched the Kirin 710 SoC as a successor for the Kirin 659. The recently launched Nova 3i is the first smartphone from the company to feature the new 10nm mid-range SoC from the company. It includes quad cores of Cortex A73 that clocks at 2.2 GHz and quad cores of Cortex A53 CPU that works at 1.7 GHz along with ARM Mali G5 GPU that offers 1.3 times better performance than Kirin 659’s GPU.

It is speculated that the company may announce Xperia XZ3, Xperia XZ3 Compact and Xperia XZ3 Premium (or Xperia XZ2 Pro) on the said date. Since the last month, the rumor mill is leaking information on the Xperia XZ3 and XZ3 Premium. Surprisingly, UK based online retailer MobileFun has jumped the gun by listing the Xperia XZ3 for pre-orders well before its official announcement. The listing contains an official render, specifications and pricing.

According to the specs sheet of Xperia XZ3 on the retailer site, it will be arriving with a 5.7-inch display that will carry support for Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. This indicates that it will be sporting an 18:9 aspect ratio screen like the Xperia XZ2. The Snapdragon 845 SoC is present under the hood of the Xperia XZ3 along with 6 GB of RAM. It has an internal storage of 64 GB. For additional storage, it is equipped with a microSD card slot. The handset receives power from a 3,240mAh battery.

For photography, the Xperia XZ3 is fitted with 19-megapixel + 12-megapixel dual camera setup and a frontal shooter of 13-megapixel. Previous leaks have suggested that the XZ3 will be featuring the very same dual camera module and front-facing camera that is available on the Xperia XZ2 Premium. The exact version of Android is not mentioned, but it is very likely to run on Android 8.1 Oreo. The Mobile Fun listing also says that the XZ3 measure 10.1mm in thickness and weighs 198 grams which sounds untrue.

The listing also contains an image which actually belongs to the Xperia XZ2 Premium. The unlocked 64 GB Xperia XZ3 is now available for pre-orders with a pricing of 749 pounds (~$981) inc. VAT. It is available in black color. The listing allows users to add the phone to basket and it also leads to the payment page.

TechRadar that was first to spot the Xperia XZ3’s listing claims that a Mobile Fun spokesperson has said that the information about the phone was received through its supply chain. As far as pricing is concerned, the spokesperson said that the retailer site will be listing the handset with the same price in the UK.

A lot of information on the Tab S4 tablet has appeared in the recent past, but none of the leaks have revealed its actual design. An official press render of the tablet has appeared today to kill the mystery of its appearance.

Rumors have revealed that the Galaxy Tab S4 would be available in black and gray colors. The below render shows off the black variant. It is yet to be confirmed whether there will be Gold color edition of the tablet. When it comes to rear design and placement of the camera, the Galaxy Tab S4 appears almost same as predecessor Galaxy Tab S3. Even the positioning of the power and volume keys on the Galaxy Tab S4 is same as the predecessor tablet. The “Tuned by AKG” logo found on the Tab S3 has been replaced by “Samsung | Tuned by AKG” logo on the successor model.

Rumors have revealed that the Galaxy Tab S4 will be equipped with a 10.5-inch display. Earlier in this year, the HTML5 benchmarks of Tab S4 had revealed that it would be offering an aspect ratio of 16:10. The screen seems to be surrounded by slightly slimmer bezels compared to the Tab S3 that featured a 9.7-inch display. The overall size of the Tab S4 does not seem to be much larger than its predecessor.

There is no logo on the top bezel of the Galaxy Tab S4. This could be because that the tablet could be housing an iris scanner on the top bezel. Samsung seems to have removed the home button from the chin of the device. Probably, the Tab S4 may carry support for on-screen navigation buttons. Some rumor had claimed that the tablet could be arriving with fingerprint sensor enabled home button. However, now the home button is absent from the device, it is unlikely to feature a fingerprint scanner.

There is no information available on the specifications of the Galaxy Tab S4. The tablet is expected to be fueled by Snapdragon 835 chipset and 4 GB of RAM. It is likely to feature an inbuilt storage of 64 GB. A big-sized battery of 7,300mAh may power the upcoming Samsung tablet. The tablet may arrive preinstalled with Android 8.1 Oreo. For photography, it may feature a 13-megapixel rear-mounted camera and a frontal shooter of 8-megapixel.

It is speculated that the Galaxy Tab S4 will also carry support for Samsung DeX. The South Korean company has recently confirmed that it will be holding the Unpacked event on Aug. 9. The event is expected to unleash the Galaxy Note 9 phablet. Hence, the company may announce the Galaxy Tab S4 at the IFA 2018 tech trade show.

It is expected to borrow the dual camera setup and front-facing camera from the Xperia XZ2 Premium smartphone that was unveiled recently. Today, a new Sony phone with a model number of H8416 has appeared on GFXBench. Since it features flagship specs, it is being speculated that it could be the forthcoming Xperia XZ3 phone.

According to the GFXBench listing, the Sony H8416 features a 5.9-inch display that supports Quad HD+ resolution of 2880 x 1440 pixels. This suggests that the display offers an aspect ratio of 18:9. It seems to be the first ever from the Japanese firm to support QHD+ resolution on an 18:9 aspect ratio screen.

The Snapdragon 845 SoC is present under the hood of the H8416 phone. The SoC is coupled with 6 GB of RAM and the device includes an inbuilt storage of 128 GB.

For shooting selfies, it has a 13-megapixel front camera. GFXBench usually lists information of the main sensor of a smartphone even if it features a dual camera setup. The benchmarking site has revealed that the main sensor of the smartphone is of 19-megapixel. Since the Xperia XZ3 is expected to borrow the dual camera setup from Xperia XZ2 Premium, it may inherit the 19-megapixel + 12-megapixel Motion Eye dual camera system. It is loaded with Android 9.0.

It is recommended to take this report with a pinch of salt since there is no direct link available for the GFXBench listing of Sony H8416. Moreover, it is not too difficult to fake a GFXBench listing.

Some rumors had claimed that it would be unveiling Huawei Watch 3 smartwatch at MWC 2018 tech expo. However, Huawei CEO Richard Yu has confirmed to Tech Radar that the company is working on Watch 3, but it won’t be launching soon.

When the publication asked about the possibility of third-generation smartwatch to Yu, he replied by saying that since Huawei Watch 2 is selling well, the company is not hurrying at launching its successor edition soon. He added that the Watch 3 will be announced later without revealing a proper timeframe for its unveil. Hence, it is evident that the Huawei Watch 3 won’t be announced on March 27, the day when the company will be announcing the P20 family.

A French publication has revealed that Razer is working n a second-generation smartphone that will probably arrive in the market with Razer Phone 2 moniker in September this year.

During the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018, Razer had demonstrated Project Linda. It is a laptop dock that features a 13.3-inch display, battery of 53.6 Wh, 200 GB of internal storage and some connectivity features like USB-A, USB-C and 3.5mm audio jack.

Users of Project Linda can place the Razer Phone in a slot where the touchpad is normally present. This way the Razer Phone when placed in the laptop dock can function as a touch pad. Its processor and RAM will be driving force for the laptop dock. Moreover, it can also function as a secondary display as shown in the image in this post.

It took around two-three month to build Project Linda before the CES 2018 and the company was able to design it in a short span of one month.
