Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Could Get 8GB RAM And 512GB Storage Variant

Samsung is gearing up to launch its new flagship smartphone — Samsung Galaxy Note 9. Now, according to the latest reports, the company could launch a variant of Note 9 with 8GB RAM and 512GB internal storage.

Previously, it was reported that the Galaxy Note 9 will be available in different variants, having 6GB RAM and three options in terms of storage — 64GB, 128GB, ad 512GB. Now, the latest report also hints at 8GB RAM model with 512GB storage.

However, it is not clear if the 8GB RAM and 512GB storage model will be available in limited markets only or the company is planning to introduce it globally. However, we are expecting that initially, it will be available in select markets only.

Several reports have indicated that the Galaxy Note 9 won’t have major changes in terms of design compared to its predecessor. The smartphone is expected to feature a 6.4-inch QHD+ resolution supporting S-AMOLED Infinity Display that delivers an aspect ratio of 18.5:9.

Rumors have indicated that the Galaxy Note 9 could be the first Samsung phone to feature an under-display fingerprint scanner. However, the leakster, who goes by the name “Ice Universe” claims that it is almost certain that the Note 9 will not be featuring the advanced biometric recognition feature.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is likely to be powered by Qualcomm‘s flagship Snapdragon 845 processor and in some regions, it is expected to be powered by the company’s own Exynos 9810 chipset. The phone is expected to be fuelled by a 3,850mAh or 4,000mAh battery that will be enabled with 9V / 2A charging.

Both variants — one with SD845 SoC and another with Exynos 9810 were spotted on benchmarking platform. The Exynos variant scored 2737 points in the single-core test while the multi-core test score is 9064 points. The score is slightly higher than the 2190 and 8806 points scored by the Snapdragon 845 variant.

Further, the Geekbench listing of the smartphone has confirmed that it will come with 6GB RAM and will be running on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box. We are expecting that Samsung will change the position of the fingerprint sensor and move it to a more convenient position.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is also expected to launch early this year. There are reports that the company could launch the smartphone in July this year and the latest information indicates that the launch could take place on 29th July. However, there’s no official confirmation from Samsung yet.

Photos of Render and Tempered Glass Shows The XL Has A Notch

Google added notch support to the Android P, not only because there are a bunch of Android phones with a notch but as it seems, also because it is joining the bandwagon.

A render of the Pixel 3 XL has surfaced online that shows the front of the device. The photo was posted on Twitter by a user with the name Pau Curcio and he/she claims it is an official render.

The render shows the Pixel 3 with curved corners (display and body). There is a notch at the top that houses a camera, earpiece, and sensor. The bottom bezel is home to a large speaker cut-out which shows the device will have stereo front-facing speakers. Even though there is no photo of the rear of the device, it is safe to presume the fingerprint scanner is on the rear.

Asides the above render, a photo showing the tempered glass of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have also surfaced online. This photo also shows that the larger Pixel is the one getting a notch while the smaller one gets an 18:9 display.

Apart from the notch, both devices have similar cut-outs at the top and bottom. There is a cut-out for a speaker at the bottom and there are two large holes which we think are for cameras and not an intricate face unlock mechanism. The other two cut-outs are for the sensor and speaker.

Lei Jun Confirms This Is Indeed The Mi Band 3 On His Wrist

Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun was spotted during the Black Shark gaming phone launch wearing a fitness band that looked like the Mi Band 2 but bigger. The fitness band was suspected to be the Mi Band 3 which the company is expected to release soon but we were just not sure about that. Well, Lei Jun has now confirmed that the smart band was indeed the Xiaomi Mi Band 3! So, we have been looking at the next-gen smart band all this while without realizing it.

The Xiaomi Mi Band 3 in question looks like the pebble shape of the Mi Band 2 with the strap designed in the same way except that it is inserted and removed from the top. However, the dimension would likely be different. The device looks a lot bigger than the Band 2 and the screen has a convex shape. Lei Jun also hinted that he had the opportunity of testing the smart band for up to three months and that the user experience is far more than what the previous two generation models offer.

It is already confirmed that the Mi Band 3 will be launched along with the Mi 8 0n May 31. That day is billed to be a feast of some sort for Xiaomi and her fans ass the company will celebrate its 8th anniversary with a flurry of new awesome products. We expect the Mi Band 3 to be worth the two-year wait. For one, Xiaomi should have fixed the skin tone-sensitive heart rate monitor issue with the Mi Band 2 which makes it unable to read the heart rate of black people and also the OLED display which becomes dim over time.

OnePlus has started rolling out an update to 2016’s OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T duo. The new update brings Face Unlock to the device as well as May’s security update.

The OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T update comes as OxygenOS 5.0.3. Users will be excited about the Face Unlock feature which debuted on the OnePlus 5T and then rolled out to the OnePlus 5 later. It is also good to see the security patch get updated. The last security patch was that of December 2017.

The update also brings a refined Shelf UI and a new design for app shortcuts with respect to launcher changes. There are also new features for the gallery app, the file manager, and the weather widget. Below is the complete changelog:

Snapdragon 845-Powered Windows 10 on ARM PCs Coming Soon, To Offer Up To 50% Increase in Performance

Of the first set of Windows 10 on ARM PCs already announced, only the HP Envy x2 and ASUS NovaGo are available for purchase. While the PCs have been praised for their battery life, reviews have also revealed there is a lot to be desired when it comes to performance especially with x86 apps that require emulation.

If you require lots of x86 apps for work or play then you may want to avoid picking up a unit. However, that doesn’t mean you should totally ditch the category. There are reports that new models powered by the Snapdragon 845 are in development and they offer up to a 50% increase in performance.

A couple of test devices have been seen on Geekbench with single core scores up to 25% higher and multi-core scores up to 40% higher than the SD835 models.

The chipset has also appeared to have been clocked higher in these listings. While the SD845 is clocked at 2.8GHz on smartphones, they are clocked as high as 2.96GHz on Windows 10 on ARM.

Windows 10 on ARM will continue to offer impressive battery life and always-on connectivity. However, unless there are ARM versions of most x86 apps, they won’t really succeed. And as it stands, developers are not willing to do so as there are still a low number of people using these new computers.

Honor 7S With MediaTek MT6739 SoC And 13MP Rear Camera Launched

After launching various variants of the Honor 7 smartphone, the Huawei‘s sub-brand has not launched yet another variant of the same smartphone — Honor 7S. This is the same smartphone that was spotted on TENAA last month.

The Honor 7S has been launched in Pakistan and comes with a price tag of PKR 14,499, which roughly converts to $125. While the smartphone has also been listed on Honor‘s global website, there’s no information available about its global availability.

The smartphone comes with a 5.45-inch HD+ display with screen resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels, 18:9 aspect ratio, and 73 percent screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood, the device is powered by MediaTek MT6739 64-bit quad-core processor along with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage.

The phone comes with a dedicated microSD card slot, enabling users to further expand the phone’s storage capacity up to 256GB. As of the camera, it features a 13-megapixel rear camera with phase detection autofocus and a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper for taking selfies and video calling. The front camera comes with a LED smart-light for brighter photos.

Measuring 146.5 x 70.9 x 8.3mm and weighing 142 grams, the smartphone supports dual SIM, as well as other standard connectivity options, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and 3.5mm headphone jack.

According to the company, the handset also features a louder speaker to provide better listening experience in noisy environments. The smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box and is powered by a 3,020mAh battery. Meizu M6T First Selfie Sample Looks Impressive For An Entry-Level Phone

Meizu is expected to launch the entry-level M6T in China tomorrow (May 26). The device has been in the news for quite a while now with the specs and pictures of the device already in the open. Also, Meizu recently released a camera sample of the device shot with the rear camera. Meizu’s CEO Li Nan has now shared a photo which he hinted was shot using the selfie camera of the device.

The sample photo is quite bright for an entry-level device. The front camera sensor is an 8MP sensor and the output comes with impressive, vivid clarity. Of course, the picture is aided by the bright sunny daylight but we have seen cameras perform woefully even in bright light.

As far as the specs go, the Meizu M6T is expected to pack a 5.7-inch HD+ resolution display will be fueled by a 1.5 GHz octa-core processor according to China’s TENAA . The SOC is believed to be a Spreadtrum chipset according to its Geebench listing. It comes with 2 GB, 3 GB and 4 GB RAM models paired with 16GB, 32GB and 64GB storage respectively. It features 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual camera setup and a selfie shooter of 8-megapixel. The handset receives power from 3,230mAh battery. The device also comes with a metallic body and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Honor 9i Confirmed to Debut on June 6; Full Specs, Images Emerge on TENAA

Earlier today, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor had confirmed that it will be keeping a launch event on June 6 the Honor PLAY phone that will deliver AI based pathbreaking 4D gaming experience. The smartphone is also expected to also include AI driven camera functions. Honor will be unleashing it at the Beijing University Gymnasium in Beijing, China. The company has also confirmed today on Weibo that it will be announcing another phone called Honor 9i at the same event.

The below poster shows the Chinese actress Zhao Li Ying endorsing the Honor 9i phone. The smartphone is dubbed as a lite flagship smartphone. The 9i features a notched display design like the recently unveiled Honor V10 flagship phone.

Honor had released last year’s Huawei Mate 10 Lite with multiple monikers in different regions. In India, the Mate 10 Lite had debuted as Honor 9i. The above poster confirms that the company will be using the same moniker for its upcoming phone.

The Honor LLD-AL20 and LLD-AL30 phones that have surfaced on TENAA are the two editions of the upcoming Honor 9i. The below shown TENAA images of the Honor LLD-AL30 phone also confirm on its notched display design. TENAA is yet to update the listing of Honor LLD-AL20 with its images.

The Honor LLD-AL20 and LLD-AL30 devices have identical specs, but they differ in RAM and storage configurations. The LLD-AL20 smartphone has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. The LLD-AL30 also features 4 GB of RAM, but it comes in two storage options like 32 GB and 128 GB. Both Honor 9i editions are loaded with Android 8.0 Oreo. For additional storage, these phones are equipped with external storage slot.

The TENAA listings of LLD-AL20 and LLD-AL30 reveals that the Honor 9i will be housing a 5.84-inch display that will produce Full HD+ resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels along with an aspect ratio of 19:9. The Honor 9i is fueled by an octa-core processor that clocks at 2.36 GHz. It is speculated that the handset may feature the older Kirin 960 chipset. It is packed with a 2,900mAh battery.

The horizontal dual camera setup lying on the rear of the Honor 9i features a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a secondary sensor of 2-megapixel. It is equipped with a front-facing shooter of 16-megapixel.

The dimensions of the Honor 9i are 149.2 x 71.8 x 7.7 mm and it weighs 152 grams. TENAA listings of Honor 9 variants show that it will be available in color choices like black, blue and gray. Rumors have it that the Honor 9i could be available with be priced around 1,799 Yuan (~$281).

Xiaomi has recently confirmed that its upcoming flagship phone will be arriving as Xiaomi Mi 8. Some reports have claimed that the Mi 8 could be equipped with 3D facial recognition as well as under display fingerprint scanner. However, a leaked poster that has surfaced today seems to be a good proof that the Mi 8 will feature a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The below shown poster showcases the very same blue edition of the Mi 8 that was spotted at the end of last week. However, this time around the rear-facing fingerprint sensor is clearly which was hidden in the previous leak.

The wider notch present reveals that it will include structured light 3D module for 3D facial scanning. A report that was published few hours ago states that the like the Mi 8 series will carry support for animated emojis like the iPhone X.

The advanced Xiaomi Mi 8 SE may arrive in multiple storage choices like 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB each featuring 6 GB of RAM. It is likely to be available in colors like black, blue, white and gold. On the other side, the Mi 8 is speculated to feature 64 GB of internal storage and 4 GB of RAM. It may arrive in color options like gray, gold, blue and red.

The Xiaomi Mi 8 duo could be the first phones to run on MIUI 10 Android skin that will be also unveiled on May 31. The same launch event will also mark the arrival of Mi Band 3 fitness band. Rumors have claimed that the Surge S2 home-brewed SoC will be also unveiled at the same platform, but there is no official confirmation on it yet.

Earlier this year, Taiwan-based Asus had announced three new smartphones in its Zenfone 5 series — Zenfone 5, Zenfone 5Z and Zenfone 5Q. However, at that time, the company has not revealed the availability information of these devices in the US.

No0w, the Asus Zenfone 5Q, which is called Zenfone 5 Lite in other markets, is available for pre-order in the United States. The smartphone is priced at $299 and can be pre-ordered through Amazon. However, it seems that the company won’t start shipping the device until 31st July.

The Asus Zenfone 5Q is the most affordable smartphone from the three phones announced earlier this year. Also, it is the only smartphone out of the three that doesn’t come with a notched display. The Zenfone 5Q features a 6-inch Full-HD+ display with screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels, 18:9 aspect ratio, and Bluelight filter for eye care.

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor, along with Adreno 508 GPU, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. For further expanding the phone’s storage capacity, there’s a microSD card slot supporting memory card of up to 2TB. In the short preview video accompanied with that post, it shows the 3D form of the cartoon avatar with facial expressions to make it look funny. From the looks of it, the feature seems similar to that of Apple‘s Animoji feature which was launched along with iPhone X and is based on Face ID.

The Xiaomi Mi 8 is reportedly equipped with a structured light 3D module that will enable 3D facial recognition feature on the phone. The module is rumored to be packed with selfie camera, proximity sensor, ambient sensor, infrared lens, flood illuminator and dot projector, enabling users to unlock the phone just by scanning their face in 3D.

The module is expected to work perfectly even in low-light conditions. Thus, it is speculated that the Mi 8 will become the first Android smartphone to come with 3D facial recognition feature. A recently released poster also hints at the presence of under-display fingerprint reader on the smartphone.

As far as the phone’s specifications are concerned, the Mi 8 is expected to come with a 6.2-inch notched OLED display that will include support for 19:9 aspect ratio and Full-HD+ screen resolution. The Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 845 processor will be powering the smartphone along with 6GB of RAM. The device is likely to arrive with 128GB of storage and is also is expected to arrive with MIUI 10 pre-installed.

Recently leaked photos of the Mi 8’s retail box reveals that it will come with dual-frequency GPS that provides a greater level of accuracy than what is currently available. The technology was announced at a conference last year by Broadcom. The BCM47755 chip offers 30-centimeter accuracy instead of current 5-meter accuracy and consumes about 50 percent less power and enhance location-based services.

Further, the smartphone could include a 3,300mAh battery, a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, and 20-megapixel with f/1.7 aperture + 16-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture dual camera setup on the back. The Xiaomi Mi 8 is likely to be available in four colors — Grey, Gold, Blue, and Red and carry a price tag of 2,999 Yuan, which roughly converts to $469.

Lenovo Z5’s Launch Date is June 5, Confirms Lenovo Group VP

Last week, Lenovo Group VP Chang Cheng had confirmed through his Weibo account that he will be soon revealing the launch date of the upcoming Lenovo Z5 flagship. Today, Cheng has confirmed that the smartphone will be officially unveiled on June 5. The launch event will take place at Beijing, China at 2 PM on the said date.

Even though Cheng has been updating Lenovo fans on the marvelous features of the Lenovo Z5, he is yet to confirm on its specifications. According to Cheng, the Lenovo Z5 is blessed with 4 advanced technological features and 18 patented technologies.

Like the Vivo APEX (or NEX?) smartphone, the Lenovo Z5 will be offering a very high screen-to-body ratio. It is said that the Vivo APEX offers around 91 percent screen-to-body ratio. The Lenovo Z5 may defeat it in the display segment as it is pegged to arrive with nearly 95 percent screen space. There is a possibility that the handset may feature under-display fingerprint scanner.

Also, the screen is expected to be surrounded by super-slim bezels on all four sides. Some are speculating that it may feature a pop-up front-facing camera like the Vivo APEX phone. The Huawei Mate RS surprise the smartphone industry by coming with an internal storage capacity of 512 GB. Cheng has teased the upcoming Lenovo Z5 will offer a mammoth storage space of 4 TB.

The Lenovo Z5 will be equipped with AI powered dual rear cameras. The camera samples of the phone have revealed that it can capture stunning portrait shots. Alleged Xiaomi Redmi 6 Surfaces with Full Specifications and Images on TENAA

In the previous week, a couple of leaked photos of a mysterious notch enabled Xiaomi phone. The rumor mill had speculated that it could be a prototype of the upcoming Redmi 6 smartphone. The same phone with full specifications and images seems to have surfaced on the website of China’s TENAA authority.

The TENAA listing reveals that the new Xiaomi phone with model number M1805D1SE measures 149.33 x 71.68 x 75mm and it weighs 178 grams. The TENAA images suggest that the handset could be sporting a metallic rear. It is expected to arrive in multiple colors like black, rose gold, gold, white, blue, red, pink, gray and silver.

The notched display of the M1805D1SE Xiaomi phone measures 5.84 inches. It carries support for 2280 x 1080 pixels of FHD+ resolution. Hence, the screen will be offering an aspect ratio of 19:9. The handset will receive power from 3,900mAh battery.

An octa-core processor that clocks at 2.0 GHz will be present under the hood of the rumored Xiaomi Redmi 6. Could it be yet another Xiaomi phone with Snapdragon 625 chipset onboard? It is advisable to wait for further reports to confirm on its SoC.

The alleged Redmi 6 will be available in RAM variants like 2 GB, 3 GB and 4 GB and storage models like 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB. For more storage, it will feature a microSD card slot.

The handset will arrive preinstalled with Android 8.1 Oreo. The dual camera setup residing on its back will include 12-megapixel as its primary sensor. Its secondary sensor is not listed on TENAA. For snapping selfies, the smartphone will be equipped with a 5-megapixel front camera.

The TENAA images shows that the device features a slightly thick chin below the elongated display. Its side bezels are not very thin. The notch seems to be housing a selfie camera, an earpiece and some other sensor. Its rear-view reveals that this phone continues to sport the same 3-stage design that Xiaomi has used on predecessor Redmi phones.

The top-left corner of the purported Redmi 6 has the vertical dual camera setup while the fingerprint scanner is positioned at the center of the upper portion of the back panel. The top edge of the phone seems to be housing a 3.5mm audio jack. The volume rocker along with power key are placed on the right edge of the phone. Shown below are the leaked images of what appears to be a prototype of the same phone.

It seems that Xiaomi is prepping to introduce the Redmi 6 series in China as the alleged Redmi 6A phone and its variants were recently spotted on TENAA with full screen design. There is no confirmation on whether the Redmi 6 series will be introduced at Xiaomi’s upcoming annual product launch event that is scheduled to take place on May 31.

Xiaomi Mi Band 3 Confirmed to Launch on May 31

Multiple reports have claimed that the Mi Band 3 fitness band will be one of the devices that will be showcased at Xiaomi’s 2018 annual product launch event that will be held at Shenzhen, China on May 31. Today, Xiaomi’s Senior Vice President Wang Xiang has released a new tweet the Mi Band 3 will be launched alongside the Xiaomi Mi 8 and MIUI 10 through the upcoming event.

During the launch event of Xiaomi’s Black Shark gaming phone, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun was spotted wearing the alleged Mi Band 3 fitness tracker. At that time, the rumor mill started speculating that the device may launch soon. Even though multiple sources claimed that the Mi Band 3 would be launching at the end of this month, Xiaomi chose to remain silent on it. It is only today that an official confirmation has on its unveiling.

Previous reports have claimed that the Mi Band 3 will be equipped with a touchscreen display and it will carry for gesture-based actions like long-press and swiping up and down for performing various tasks on it. There is no confirmation on whether it will be coming with a color display. The screen of the Mi Band 3 could be more rounded compared to Mi Band 2.

The screenshots of the companion app have revealed that tapping on it display will let allow its users to switch between notifications while other features can be accessed through swiping actions. Hitting the capacitive key below the display will let the users to access the Back function. In order to confirm on features such as start or stop searching for a device to pair, users can long press on the capacitive key. The screen can be unlocked by swiping on it.

It has been through its leaked user manual that the Mi Band 3 may look like its predecessor model. Reports have revealed that it will be equipped with an IP67 certified chassis and removable strap. It is likely to carry support for Bluetooth 4.2 and NFC. The Mi Band 3 will be coming with various health-centric features like heart rate sensor, step counter and sleep monitor.

Rumors have it that Xiaomi may announce the advanced Xiaomi Mi 8 SE smartphone alongside the Xiaomi Mi 8. Also, the Chinese firm is speculated to debut the Surge S2 in-house chipset at the same platform.

Huawei Mate RS Porsche Design Launching Soon In Russia; Arrives Customs

Huawei will likely release the Mate RS Porsche Design in Russia soon. The device has been spotted in the Unified Register of Notifications. Now, legislation of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) restricts importation and exportation of cryptographic devices. Common goods which have cryptographic functions like laptops, mobile phones, routers, certain types of software etc. can only be imported after the customs is provided with so-called Notification. The notification is a document which contains information about cryptographic functions of the products (e.g. authentication, Wi-Fi encryption etc). Namely, it should describe every cryptographic algorithm used by the product as well as the respective key size and cryptographic protocol.

The Huawei Mate RS notification was made public on the EAEU portal on May 22 but the application was made on May 14. This means the Mate RS Porsche Design has gotten the green light to be sold in Russia. Before now none of Huawei’s luxury series has been sold in Russia. So, the Mate RS is the first luxury model that would go on sale in Russia.

As a reminder, the Mate RS comes with a premium design consisting of triple rear cameras and a full-screen display without the notch design present on the P20 Pro. The display is a 6-inch FullView OLED display with a 2880 x 1440 resolution. It has a high contrast ratio of 90000:1 and a 538 ppi. Huawei’s Kirin 970 powers it, paired with 6GB of RAM and for the first time in a smartphone, 512GB of storage. That record has been shattered by the Smartisan R1 which packs 1TB storage. The Mate RS also has a 256GB version. The luxury model has a starting price of 1,695 euros (122,900 rubles). The price in Russia will likely not be higher than that.
