LG has finally unveiled one of the most anticipated smartphones of this year, the LG V30. Unlike the predecessor models that featured a secondary ticker screen, the LG V30 ditches it for good. It is packed with several multimedia features and it comes with an amazing f/1.6 aperture camera sensor.
LG V30 Design
LG V30 sports a MIL-STD-810G standard IP68 certified aluminum chassis with Gorilla Glass 5 panel on its rear side. It measures 151.7 x 75.4 x 7.4 mm. It will be coming in four color options such as Black, Titan, Sliver and Pink.
The HDR 10 compliant 6-inch FullVision display of the LG V30 delivers an aspect ratio of 18:5 and a resolution of 1,440 x 2,880 pixels. The side bezels are not visible and the upper and lower bezels are slim which allows the LG phablet to deliver an aspect ratio of 82 percent.
LG V30 Hardware
The Snapdragon 835 chipset powers the LG V30 along with 4 GB of RAM. It will be available in two storage choices such as 64 GB and 128 GB. It also features a microSD card slot that supports up to 2 TB microSD card. LG has packed a non-removable 3,300mAh battery inside the LG V30 which can be charged quickly through USB-C through Quick Charge 3.0.
LG V30 Cameras
As LG had confirmed before the launch of V30, its dual rear camera includes the world’s widest f/1.6 aperture Crystal Clear lens of 16-megapixel that includes features like 3-axis OIS, laser and PDAF coupled with a 13-megapixel f/1.9 aperture lens. Azdome is the Chinese manufacturer that specializes in making car dash cams. The DAB211 is one of the company’s latest products that offers a lot of features and particularly prominent in Ambarella A12 chip which can record the distortionless videos and images.
Before explaining the distortionless feature of DAB211, Azdome first introduces the other functional characteristics for people to get a full understanding of DAB211. DAB211 is the only Ambarella A12 product of Azdome, with hidden design, two brackets – suction mount and 3M mount, besides, the camera lens can be adjusted, which helps you record the video more conveniently, furthermore, in the outward appearance design, DAB211 is the only dash cam with plenty of heat emission holes, last but not least, DAB211 has HDR and distortionless characteristics, this article will emphatically introduce the distortionless feature.
To display the different effect of distortion and no distortion visually, Azdome specially prepared two contrast images, one is shot by DAB211 with Ambarella A12 chip, another is shot by dash cam without Ambarella chip, please read on.
You can see clearly from the above picture that the building in the left picture is straight and the building in the right picture obviously bends away from the center, that’s the difference between DAB211 with Ambarella chip and other dash cams without Ambarella chip.
In the face of such an attractive dash cam, it is really difficult not to be tempted.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has 6 GB of RAM and the discontinued Galaxy Note 7 also included the same amount of RAM. The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ duo features 4 GB of RAM. Fresh rumors suggest that the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ would continue to sport 4 GB of RAM like their predecessor phones.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 has a model number of SM-G950 and its larger sibling named Galaxy S8+ has a model number of SM-G955. According to XDA Developers, its sources have revealed that the model number of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 is SM-G960.
The alleged Galaxy S9 has even appeared on a benchmarking site with key specs. The Galaxy S9 is rumored to driven by Snapdragon 845 and it will be running on Android 8.0 Oreo + Samsung’s Experience UI 9.0. Samsung has been using 4 GB RAM for its Galaxy S series smartphones since last year on Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge phones.
Samsung may not launch the Galaxy S9 with 6 GB of RAM as the publication has reported that it will be coming with 4 GB of RAM. The South Korean company is rumored to have acquired the initial stocks of Snapdragon 845 chipset for the next generation S series smartphones but conflicting rumors suggest more than half the units of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ may be powered by the Exynos 9810 chipset.
XDA has claimed that the Galaxy S9 are expected to arrive with 64 GB storage as base model. There is no fresh information on the screen size of the Galaxy S9. It has also reported that the Galaxy S9 would be supporting Infinity Display panel that produce 18.5:9 aspect ratio and QHD+ resolution of 2,960 x 1,440 pixels.
The Galaxy S9 could be the first Galaxy S phones to come with dual rear cameras. It may feature the same dual rear cameras that’s available on the Galaxy Note 8. As far as the placement of the fingerprint scanner is concerned, it will be placed on the rear side of the Galaxy S9.
However, instead of placing it next to the dual cameras, it is speculated to be positioned below them towards the center enclosed in a rectangular cutout. The Galaxy Note 9 is pegged to be the first Samsung phone to arrive with in-screen fingerprint scanner. A recent report had claimed that the Galaxy S9 would coming with modular capabilities. However, since the Galaxy S9 is unlikely to come with a radical redesign, it is unlikely to feature modular capabilities.
XDA has stated that the above information is only related to Galaxy S9 and there are no rumors that hint Samsung won’t be launching the larger Galaxy S9+. Previous rumors have revealed that Galaxy S9 and S9+ are respectively codenamed as Star and Star 2. The Galaxy S9+ may have a model number of SM-G965. Like the Galaxy S8 duo, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ are pegged to be arrive with respective screens of 5.8 inches and 6.2 inches.

How do you listen to your audio? Headphones have been around for ages, and although you’ve probably been through a few different styles, little has changed in the actual parts that count, the drivers. The best standard drivers are tuned to sound great and have diaphragms engineered to widen frequency range. With all this tech you still can’t beat the physical limitations of a single driver. When a single driver is pressed to produce a full range, it will distort much easier than if it was only covering a smaller range. The wider the range, the greater the distortion.
Dual Sounds Better Quality home theater and car audio split the frequency into a Subwoofer, midrange, and tweeter. The same logic is packed into dual driver earbuds. When dual drivers blend, you have a full-spectrum of sound that a single driver could never replicate. Less distortion, more volume. What you listen to will sound more natural and almost realistic.
Blitzwolf packed dual driver tech into their latest pair of headphones, the BS2. These headphones deliver a mouth-watering sound experience unrivaled to the capabilities of a single driver. Released in mid-2017, they have been rated as excellent value for money and produce sound that rivals much more expensive professional audio equipment.
Unboxing the Blitzwolf BW-ES2 is where it all begins, the full package includes a gift box and zipper carry bag. Both the cool matte black and attractive red versions of the BS2 have a semi transparent case so you can see the drivers in action. From the box to your ears, the BS2 is a quality experience.
BlitzWolf also has an outstanding reputation for speakers, fast chargers, cables, and other phone accessories. Their previous headphones are made with the latest tech including graphene drivers. Dual drivers are not a new concept, but in the past, they were relegated to the top end. Sound engineers and musicians have been enjoying the wider sound range that dual drivers bring for years. BlitzWolf’s dual drivers offer excellent sound, and from the gift box to the sound output, the BS2is an extraordinary set of headphones. Your ears and eyes will be impressed. The BS2 is available on Banggood and Amazon but you can scoop up more details and find out where to buy from here.
The UMIDIGI S2 and UMIDIGI S2 Pro are the latest flagships from UMIDIGI. Both devices feature a 5.99-inch 18:9 full-screen immersive display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection. They also pack a massive 5100mAh battery that makes it the first full-screen phone with a 2-day battery life.
The large battery in addition to the software optimizations will allow users enjoy hours long of entertainment on its unique display. For devices with big batteries like this, it is imperative that they come with a form of fast charging technology.
The UMIDIGI S2/S2 Pro doesn’t disappoint and to prove that it does have fast charging, UMIDIGI has made a charge test video showing how fast the S2 and S2 Pro charge.
In the 59-seconds long time-lapse video, we see the UMIDIGI S2 reaches a charge of 35% in just 30 minutes and a full charge in 150 minutes (2½ hours). Both phones are able to achieve this due the use of MediaTek’s Pump Express+2.0 quick charge technology.
Pump Express+2.0 allows the device draw between 5V and 20V of technology while charging without damaging it, offering charging speeds that are up to 2x+ faster than conventional charging.
UMIDIGI states that the 5100mAh battery should suffice for up to 55 hours of phone call, 16.4 hours of playback or 794 hours of standby time.
The UMIDIGI S2/S2 Pro isn’t official yet as it is expected to launch in October. However some other specification details that have been announced include the RAM which is 6GB, 64GB/128GB of built-in storage, and the presence of NFC. Both phones also have dual rear Sony cameras and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The S2/S2 Pro will be powered by a Helio P25 SoC clocked at 2.6GHz.

The Z17 Lite also features a dual rear camera setup which consists of 13MP Mono + 13MP RBG sensors, while at the front there is a 16MP selfie camera. Moto X4 has been making rounds on the rumor mill for the past few months, but now we know that the phone is all set to meet us on September 2, thanks to an official poster confirming the launch date in the Philippines. However, the launch should not be just limited to the Philippines next month as a new image reveals that we may find a Moto X4 booth at IFA, Berlin this year.
IFA has always been a big event for tech manufacturers to showcase its big products for the latter half of the year and this year too, things are going to be exciting, with Samsung, LG, Lenovo, and other manufacturers participating in the event. Instead of using IFA as a platform to launch new products, most smartphone manufacturers reveal their big products before it kicks off and then showcases them at the Berlin event.
As for the specs, the Moto X4 is expected to come with a 5.2-inch display with Snapdragon 630 inside. Pricing should be close to $350-400 according to the storage variants. You can expect to find a decent dual camera setup at the back as well.
There are very few smartphones that are currently using Snapdragon 660 processor, like the OPPO R11. But that shouldn’t take away the importance of this chipset, given that it is reportedly cheaper than the Snapdragon 835 but quite powerful and comparable to other high-end chipsets. We will surely see more phones with SD660 in the coming months, but rumors about its successor, the Snapdragon 670 are already out.
The new Snapdragon 670 chip is said to take things to a new level by using an even better 10nm LPP (Low Power Plus) manufacturing process from Samsung. Note that the current gen. SoCs like SD835 use LPE (Low Power Early) which is the predecessor to the LPP process. So, the new 10nm LPP node should improve performance as well as the efficiency of the chipsets.
The processor will have eight Kryo cores, which will be the third generation Kryo 360. These cores will use the new DynamIQ architecture, which is the successor to the ever popular big.LITTLE architecture from ARM. You can read more about the benefits and features of the next generation DynamIQ architecture from here. The chip is said to use two high-power Kryo 360 cores and six low power Kryo cores. Finally, SD670 is also said to use a new 600 series Adreno GPU.
According to this leak, you can expect the Snapdragon 670 to go into mass production in Q1 2018.
A research finding by Strategic analytics recently revealed that the Xiaomi Redmi 4A is the fifth best-selling model for the second quarter of the year with over 5.5 million units sold worldwide between April and June alone. Most of the sales may have come from India where Xiaomi is the second largest OEM after Samsung and where it launched the Redmi 4A in March.
Perhaps, in order to tweak things a little bit to increase sales, Xiaomi has officially announced a 3GB RAM variant of the Redmi 4A in India. The budget smartphone originally comes in 2GB + 16GB memory version only but with this new development, fans can now choose between the 3GB + 32GB version and then the original 2GB + 16GB version. The prices are just 1000 Rupees apart, as the 3GB variant costs 6,999 Rupees (~$109) while the 2GB + 16GB version costs 5,999 Rupees (~$95). It would go on sale tomorrow, August 31, simultaneously on Mi.com, Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm, and Tata CliQ.
The rest of the Redmi 4A specs remain the same and as a reminder, the device sports a 5-inch display with HD resolution (1280 x 720p) on top of an all-metal body. The budget device is powered by a Quad-core Snapdragon 425 chipset clocked at 1.2GHz which is supplemented by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. At the back, the phone features a 13MP sensor with PDAF and man, the camera is sharp! Even the 5MP shooter at the front will amaze you with its output. It packs a capable 3,120mAh battery under its hood while the interface is provided by the latest MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. Other features include dual-SIM slots one micro and nano SIM slot, dual Standby support, 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and lots more.
Sony will be holding its IFA 2017 event on Aug.31. The rumor mill has revealed that the Japanese company would be debuting the Sony Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact with flagship specs at the upcoming launch event. Reports have also revealed that the company may unveil Xperia X1 too at IFA 2017. It appears that it will be also unveiling a new phablet as a new device with model number G8541 has appeared on GFXBench benchmarking site.
The Sony G8541 has a 6.2-inch full HD display and it is driven by Snapdragon 835 chipset as the listing show the presence of Adreno 540 graphics along with 4 GB of RAM. The internal storage of the device is 128 GB and it is preinstalled with Android 8.0 Oreo that is overlaid with Sony’s own UI.
It features a rear camera of 19-megapixel that will carry support for 4K video recording. It could be the same Motion Eye sensor with 960 fps slow motion video shooting support that is available on Xperia XZ Premium and Xperia XZ smartphones. It has a selfie camera 12-megapixel that also supports 4K video shooting. Some of its other features include NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, gyroscope, accelerometer, barometer, proximity sensor and GPS.
Interestingly, the Sony G8541 listing includes another display variant of 12.3 inches which supports 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. It could either be a miscalculation or there is a possibility that Sony may release a tablet variant of the same device. Reports suggest that the G8541 could be a successor of the Sony Xperia Z Ultra phablet from 2013. Hence, the Sony G8541 is speculated to launch as Xperia XZ1 Ultra. Other rumors suggest that it would be sporting a IP68 certified chassis.
The Sony Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ Compact are speculated to be powered by Snapdragon 835 chipset and 4 GB of RAM. The Xperia XZ1 is expected to feature a 5.2-inch full HD screen and 3,000mAh battery whereas the XZ1 Compact is pegged to house a 4.6-inch HD screen and a 2,800mAh battery. Both smartphones are expected to arrive with 19-megapixel rear cameras and 12-megapixel front cameras. They are also preinstalled with Android 8.0 Oreo. The leaked renders of the Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact have been already revealed.

Lenovo launched the K8 Note in India earlier this month packing an Helio X23 processor. There are rumors that the Chinese phone maker will also be releasing a couple of phones in the K-series soon. Accord to sources in India, Lenovo will launch the K8 and K8 Plus sometime in mid-September in the country.
The K8 Plus was first spotted in GeekBench along side the K8 Note and at that time, it was revealed that the device will be powered by a MediaTek MT6757CD octa-core SoC which is the Helio P25. There is 3GB of RAM and it also runs Android 7.1.1. It is expected to come in at a slightly lower price segment when compared to the K8 Note. However, there is no news about the specs of the K8 but they may likely be intertwined with some slight differences in hardware and software.
Lenovo seems to be coasting home to success with the K-series in Idia. The K8 Note was quickly sold out after it went on its first sale, perhaps spurred by the solid build and sleek design which the device features. The K8 Note packs a 13MP + 5MP dual camera setup at the rear. This year 2017 is sure looking likely to have the record of being the year of bezel-less phones. Since Xiaomi released the bezel-less Mi Mix last year, we have lost count of the number of bezel-less phones that have been launched this year alone. From the flagship Galaxy S8 to the budget Doogee Mix, the list continues to grow. Right now, Vivo looks set to join the fray with its own full-screen phone which is dubbed Vivo X20.
Vivo has not been very active this year in its frequency of smartphone releases this year but the sure look set to launch a mid-range flagship-looking model in the X20. The company recently shared two renders of the X20 and from the photos, it can be seen that the device will come in white and black colours. The shape looks very much like the Galaxy S8 with an ultra thin bezel on the upper and lower edges, giving the device a high screen-to-body ratio. The sides look like what will be without bezels.
The device is being projected as Vivo’s first full-screen phone and is expected to utilize an 18:9 aspect ratio, judging from the size of the renders. No further detail is revealed about the X20 but the device is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest mid-range Snapdragon 660 SoC. The processor will be backed by 6GB of RAM.The device is also expected to feature a powerful camera configured with Vivo’s latest DSP image processing technology and maybe dual cameras at the front and rear.
As to when the Vivo X20 will be released, we can’t say but we expect more teasers to be released in the coming days.
The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus both ditched the 3.5mm audio jack last year, setting the standard for how audio will be consumed on iPhones henceforth. One can decide to get the Apple Airpods, Bluetooth headphones or pick up a lightning to 3.5mm audio jack adapter like the Dodocool DA123 for those who own wired earphones.
The Dodocool DA123 is a MFI certified adapter that lets you connect earphones with a 3.5mm connector to your iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus. What makes it different from other adapters is the in-line remote, so you don’t have to pull out your phone to answer calls, control playback or activate Siri. There is also a bass boost button on the other side that enhances the audio experience.
The Dodocool DA123 uses 4N copper wires to ensure that audio quality isn’t lost during transmission. It is 223.65mm long and covered with soft TPE jacket for durability. It is also tangle-free.

The Dodocool DA106 HiFi Audio Player not only offers lossless audio playback but also has a FM radio and HiFi voice recording (up to 192kHz/24PCM). The player has a 2-inch display with a 320 x 240 resolution and a set of controls below it and on the side.
