Blackview Omega Review

The Blackview is a Chinese manufacturer, which is not widely known for its products outside of China. Also, it does not have a significant market share in its homeland. However, we love checking out the devices from all the manufacturers and this time around we have a Blackview Omega.

We wanted to say thank you for Pandawill.com for sending this phone for a review!

We’ve spent some quality time with the Blackview Omega and made an in-depth video review, which you can check out above.

UNBOXING

img_8443

As far as packaging goes, it is fairly standard, has some logos and the list of specs on it. I have to say that it doesn’t look cheap once you open it as it has a dedicated strap to take out the phone. Also, everything is put together neatly, so it is a pleasure to unbox it.

img_8444

The first thing that comes out of the box is the smartphone itself. At the glance, it feels great and the quality seems to be pretty good, but I will come back to it later.

The first thing as far as included accessories, are the headphones. They look quite familiar and we are quite sure where the inspiration comes from. Still, the built quality is not bad. The sound quality is not the best, but above average for a standard pair of headphones. The next thing included is the USB OTG cable, which allows you to connect the USB storage device. Next up is a regular charging brick. The design is similar to the what we have seen from HTC, but we do not really care about it, as it gets the job done. Also, there is a standard Micro USB cable to charge or sync your device. Nothing special about it, just an ordinary cable.
img_8451
What is more, there is an envelope, which is full of goodies. It starts with the ordinary SIM ejector tool. Also, the manufacturer included wet and dry cleaning wipes. It may sound weird, but you will soon find out why. What is more, there is a quick start guide included. As usual, we don’t care about it, but it may useful for the newbies.Right now you will see why the cleaning wipes were included. It turns out that the Blackview wants to make sure that you protect you device, so they include not an ordinary screen protector, but a tempered glass. It sounds like a nice touch by the manufacturer, but what about another tempered glass for the back of the device? It may imply a few things. Either the Blackview is not sure about the sturdiness of the device or it just wants you to have a mint condition device for a longer time. One more thing that comes in this magic envelope is the the plastic case. Nothing out of ordinary, but it is really a great addition to protect the device from drops.
Finally, let’s check out the device itself and share my initial impressions. I won’t lie to you as the smartphone has a very similar design to the iPhone 4s. It spots a metal frame along with the metal buttons. What is more, the back of the device is made out of glass material, which is, however,  a fingerprint magnet on the black surface. All in all, the device is very well built, looks and feel sturdy in your hand.
DESIGN
img_8467

On the front side of the device there is an 8mp shooter along with the earpiece on the top. On the bottom there are three capacitive keys, which also have a backlight. The manufacturer chose to put volume up/down keys along with the power button on the left side of the metal frame of the phone. It took a bit of time to get used to it for me, but it is a personal preference. On the bottom, there is a regular Micro USB charging port along with microphone and the plastic infusions for better signal reception. On the right side, there is a dual micro SIM card tray. One slot also doubles as the micro SD slot up to 64 GB of cards for storage expansion. On the top, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack.On the back of the smartphone, there is a 13mp camera sensor, which can shoot up to 18mp pictures due to software interpolations along with the single LED flash. Finally, there is a mono speaker on the bottom, which has an average sound quality.

You can clearly see how the device attracts fingerprints and smudges. I have to say, I’m not a huge fan of it as I don’t like cleaning. All this is due to the glass back panel and the black colour underneath it. I guess that the you wouldn’t see all the dirt on the white version, but it is the same with all devices.

PERFORMANCE
The device spots an MTK6592 Octa Core 1.7GHz chip inside along with the 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage. The graphics are handled by Mali-450MP GPU. For all those raw benchmarks fans, I ran the Antutu Benchmark to see how the Blackview Omega performs.
The Antutu score of 30425 is quite impressive for the device, which has a much lower price tag then the smartphones made by the major manufacturers.
As far as real life experience, the device has nearly stock Android 4.4 Kitakat UI. Everything is running smoothly and I didn’t have any hiccups so far. The Blackview Omega has basic settings menu you would expect.
As it has become quite usual, the manufacturer included some gesture controls. I always like the tap to wake functionality, which, in my opinion, has to be included on each smartphone. Another gesture I like is tapping the capacitive home key to quickly turn off the display. Also, there are some quick toggle gestures that lets you draw a a letter for a particular functionality. One more gesture I got used to using is the drawing letter C to launch the camera. So far the gestures seem to be working fine with only rare misses.
One more feature that Blackview thought might be useful is the ability to take the screenshots of the screen using your 3 fingers. Well, it is a neat function for those, who really care about taking screenshots on their smartphones.

2015-03-14 20.18.22
The smartphone has all kinds of languages included, so international customers are all set.
The device has a standard Android internet browser included. The browsing functionality is good and provides a great user experience without any lags or other issues. Also, watching Youtube works well. The sound quality is just average, not on par with any flagship devices (you can hear the audio quality in our video review).
As far as gaming, the device can handle the graphically intensive games like Asphalt 8 without any lags. What I’ve noticed, however, is that it takes quite a while to load a game in comparison to Snapdragon 801 powered devices. Also, after just a few minutes of gaming you can feel that the phone heats up a little. What is more, gaming drains the battery quite fast. All in all, it may not be the Nr. 1 device for gamers, but still, it can handle it in case you need in those boring situations, when you need to burn the time.

2015-03-14 20.20.30
The gallery app is fairly simple and it has a usual Android interface. Scrolling through pictures, opening it and zooming in is without lags. Playing the Full HD videos also works without any issues.
CAMERA
Let’s go and check out the camera app first. It has some basic functions you would find on many Android devices. The app is fairly simple and you can adjust some general settings. Taking pictures and shooting videos is fast during the daylight, but it naturally becomes noticeably slower, when doing the same thing in low-light scenarios.
As far as picture quality, the daylight pictures have plenty of detail as they are 18mp in size due to some software tricks the device does out of the 13mp f/2.2 aperture sensor. The colour reproduction seems quite accurate, but it is more on the colder side. The best way to take pictures is to tap to focus. Otherwise, the white balance and colours may not be the way you want. Once you take the device to the low light, you see that the camera starts struggling. It takes much more time to focus and you have to make sure you hold your hands steady not to get blurry pictures. Also, the pictures to have a lot of noise and the colour reproduction is a hit or miss. Again, once you take pictures inside the house, but there is more light, the picture quality becomes quite good.
As far as front facing shooter for selfies, it has 8MP (interpolated from 5MP sensor). The picture quality is actually good. What I’ve noticed is that it takes a lot of time for the shutter in the low light. Of course, it does not have a very wide aperture, so it’s understandable (yeah, this review has been made by a cat).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFTDMocwblY

The video quality is above average. It does not capture a lot of detail like flagship smartphones, but it is not bad. Color reproduction turns out to be quite natural. Also, the voice recording is quite okay. I noticed that there is no continous auto-focus, which is is a disadvantage as you need to tap to focus while shooting video.
BATTERY LIFE
As far as battery life goes, the 2100mAh unit doesn’t sound great on paper, but it can easily get through the day if you won’t keep playing games or watch HD videos all the time, which drain the battery fast.
The manufacturer has also thought about the battery life by including a power saving management tool. It has a similar interface to what we’ve seen on Sony devices. It may become handy once you are away from the power source for a while.
CONCLUSIONS

In general, I like the design and the built quality of the Blackview Omega. However, the button placement on the left hand side seems odd to me as I’m so used to using it on the right side. Still, if it is the only device you would be carrying with you, it would take around a few days to get used to it. Moreover, I’m not a huge fan of glass surfaces that attract fingerprints and smudges as I’m not that kind of person, who likes cleaning. However, there must be a lot of people, who don’t care about it since the iPhone 4/4s has a very similar design and Apple has sold tens of millions of devices.
Also, the software seems to be working smoothly as it is mostly a pure Android experience. Everything from daily tasks, to watching videos or playing games works great. However, the device gets hot very fast on more intensive tasks. Still, the heat is not that intense, so it is acceptable considering that all the smartphones nowadays have the same issue more or less. In addition, the benchmark results of this device just proves that.
What is more, the Blackview Omega has a good camera for daylight shots, but it struggles in the low light as many smartphones do. Still, you can get a decent low-light shots if you keep your hand steady. All in all, I’m quite happy about this device’s camera considering the price of the smartphone. Also, we’ve seen some better video recorders, but this one still should be enough to capture something in a decent quality.
Moreover, the battery should keep you running throughout the day if you don’t do a lot of gaming.
In conclusion, the Blackview Omega is really great device for just under $180 and I cannot say anything that would be a deal breaker for the price you paying.

Also, we checked out for the lowest price to buy Blackview Omega from reliable online resellers in case you want to purchase the device. We will always update the link to buy Blackview Omega smartphone if we find anywhere cheaper on the market.

Xiaomi Phones Become Official Equipment for Chinese UN FPU Team

Late last year, the second police riot team of the United Nations peacekeeping force was sent to Liberia. Having 110 Chinese citizens, the team returned safely to the Chinese mainland two days ago, on March 13. Successful on its own accord, the mission served as further proof of the power of Chinese smartphones, Xiaomi in particular.

A number of team members of the Chinese peacekeeping police force shared through the micro-blogging network Weibo their thoughts on the mission, as well as a few photos through their Xiaomi smartphones. “The Signal Strength was absolutely great,” members of the team stated, giving further proof that Xiaomi hardware is a force to be reckoned with.

United Nations Xiaomi Phones Peacekeeping Force Officials

According to officials, the mission in Liberia served a test area for the Xiaomi smartphones and following the successful testing, the mobile devices have now become standard equipment for the Liberia FPU team.

The war in the West African country Liberia has been progressing in the course of over ten years. The Chinese peacekeeping police force was invited as a part of the United Nations team to perform various helpful missions, including infrastructure work, repairs and transportation. While the country’s communications have been damaged by the war, thus resulting in a low signal strength, the Xiaomi Smartphones proved to be powerful enough to deliver a top notch performance even in the harsh area of Liberia.

Xiaomi Smart Watch Details Revealed in Response to the Apple Watch

A vast number of Smart Watches are currently available on the market. From the Moto 360 to Samsung Galaxy Gear, manufacturers have been trying to achieve the perfect smart wrist companion for a couple of years. However, following the announcement of the Apple Watch, more companies are getting on the smart watch band wagon as the wearable market promises to grow in the upcoming months.

Huawei has already released a smart watch, called TalkBand B1 and Meizu also plans to release a smart wrist band. However, the biggest Apple Watch competitor to seems to be Xiaomi.

Partnering with Huami, the company is aimed at conquering the wearable ID market. Following the success of the Mi Band, Xiaomi has recently announced a second iteration of the smart band as well as the Xiaomi Smart Watch, which seems to be a direct response to Apple’s wrist wearable device.

Xiaomi Smart Watch Apple Competitor Specs Wrist Band

The Xiaomi Band 2 won’t be that different from its predecessor. With a sporty look and a light design, the band will feature a new NFC sensor in addition to the existing Bluetooth module and accelerator.

“My mission is to make the Xiaomi band (Mi Band) look better,” Huang Wang, CEO of Huami stated in a recent interview with 36 Krypton. “In addition to variety of designs, at the core of the Xiaomi band will be its customization.”

Xiaomi Smart Watch Apple Competitor Specs

Even more interesting is the direct Apple Watch competitor – the Xiaomi Smart Watch. Improving on the wrist band, the watch will feature a large dial, making pulse wave velocity identification possible. Currently, the technology has two major problems – light pollution and high energy consumption.

“Apple did made a lot of progress in health tracking with the Apple Watch, but they also had to give up a lot of health-related functions,” researchers told 36 Krypton. Doing accurate measurements and identifying biological signs with such a small device seems to be a problem and researchers state that “in order to improve the accuracy of pulse reading and other health-related measurements, the wrist wear should be solid and well-positioned, which is hardly achieved with a smart watch.”

However, Huang Wang is certain that the engineers of Huami have managed to deal with those difficulties, while achieving an amazing design. Whether or not the new Xiaomi Smart Watch will be able to deliver on said promises is still to be seen. However, Huang said that the their previous experience in the development of consumer electronics, will help them achieve a great product at an affordable price.

Xiaomi Smart Watch Apple Competitor Specs Moto 360 Design

What’s more, the Xiaomi Smart Watch will feature a special design and be made with brushed metal material, similar to the one used in smartphones, such as the HTC One (M8). Although, Huang did not reveal any information regarding the overall shape of the device, he noted that “the watch industry has been around for many years and the classic dial shape is the most popular, as everyone can see.” He also added that “For everyday purposes, smart watches are relatively thick, thus they can sue some trimming of the design, so it looks more pleasing.”

Huami have also made sure to get the best software engineers on their Smart Watch team, as well. Lin Bin and Hugo Barra, Huami and Google employees, stated that “the [Xiaomi Smart Watch] user experience will be the best.”

All in all, Huami seem to be pretty confident in their ability to deliver a worthy competitor to the Apple Watch. Furthermore, according to Huang, the Xiaomi Band 2 and the Xiaomi Smart Watch will come at a lower price, compared to other devices on the market.

Will the company be able to deliver on their promises? Only time will tell!

The Chinese television service provider, LeTV will be getting in the mobile manufacturing game by releasing a new device called the LeTV X600. While official information is slim, there have been a lot of leaks, regarding the smartphone and its specifications.

LeTV X600 Specs Smartphone New

Being one of the first MT6795 phones to be released on the market, it is currently unknown whether or not the device will take advantage of the 2K (2560×1600) resolution screen support. However, it is certain that the smartphone will run the latest version of Android 5.0 Lollipop, thus using the MT6795M 64-bit possibilities to full extent.

Recently, a member of the Ubuntu team posted a screenshot on the popular Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo, featuring official benchmark results of a device named X600. While at this point it is speculation, the screenshot most presumably shows the benchmark results of the LeTV X600.

New Hasee smartphone leaked, looks like the Huawei Mate 7!

You may have heard of the company, Hasee, which is the second largest personal computer manufacturer in China. Like most tech giants, Hasee too entered the smartphone industry a few years back, but recently we have not heard much about the company’s smartphone releases.

hasee mate 7 phone

However, earlier today, spy photos of what looks to be a new Hasee device was leaked online. The device takes its design inspiration from Huawei’s Mate 7. In fact, its impressive to see that the screen to body ratio is low, thanks to its slim bezels. The device looks large, so it could feature a 6-inch display as the Mate 7.

At the back, there is the camera unit, Hasee logo and interestingly a rectangular space which looks like a fingerprint sensor. But we are not quite sure whether its a fingerprint sensor or a rear button. There are no speakers at the back, so it could be at the bottom. The UI on the device looks interesting, and it could be the company’s own custom ROM.

Another Hasee device was leaked today, but its not as good looking as the first one. In fact, from the looks, it could be an entry level device with modest specifications.

Hasee has not yet announced these two devices officially, but it is said that both could run on the new 64-bit Mediatek processors. No details about the RAM, storage, display, camera or battery have been revealed. But stay tuned for more updates.

Dingding SK3 Pro features a massive 5.5-inch screen and 3000mAh battery

IMG_2629

Chinese smartphone manufacturers never manage to surprise us. We have seen many interesting smartphones from small companies in the past few years, and today, we have yet another company which has outed a good looking device.

You may have never heard of the company, Dingding, but they have just released a new smartphone in the market, the Dingding SK3 Pro which takes its design inspiration from one of the best looking smartphones of 2014, the LG G3. In fact, you can even say that the phone is a clone, because you get the same good looks of the G3 on this new device.

The front features a very clean and minimal look which adorns the large 5.5-inch display up front. At the back, you get the same rear volume rockers and power button as the G3. Even the camera and speaker placement is inspired from the LG flagship.

Inside, the phone features modest specifications. You get the standard MT6582 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz on the device. But there’s an option for MT6572 too, which is an even slower processor (dual-core clocked at 1.2GHz) most likely retailing for a lesser price tag.

There’s 1GB RAM onboard along with 8GB internal storage. It is said that you can opt for a 2GB RAM  + 16GB storage version as well. Moreover, you can expand storage via MicroSD up to 32GB on both the models.

The large 5.5-inch display features a resolution of 1280 x 720p. For the low-end edition, you get the same 5.5-inch display but with a lower qHD resolution. As for the camera, there is an 8MP shooter at the back along with a 5MP shooter up front. In the better version, the rear camera produces 13MP resolution pictures and the front camera takes 8MP pictures with software interpolation.

Despite its modest specifications, one of the best features of the device is the large 3000 mAh battery onboard. Usually, to cut down the cost, manufacturers tend to sacrifice in this important area, but its good to see that Dingding SK3 Pro packs in a battery which can last for a day easily. And if you have the lower-end MT6572 dual core edition, you will definitely get more than a day’s usage, thanks to its power efficient feature.

Given its entry level placement, the phone does not support LTE networks. It will run on the Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS out of the box.

The device is expected to hit the markets soon in black, white and gold colors. We still don’t know the pricing of the SK3 Pro, but will keep you guys updated if we receive any information.

IUNI U3 Mini U830 hits Tenaa with 5.15-inch 1080p display

It looks like IUNI has a new device in the pipeline, as a new model has just hit TENAA. The IUNI 830 features similar specifications as the IUNI U3, yet there are some subtle changes which makes us believe that this could be the rumored IUNI U3 Mini smartphone.

iuni u3 mini

In the processor department, the IUNI U830 features the same Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor as the IUNI U3 but is clocked at a lower speed, 2.3GHz instead of 2.5Ghz. The new model comes with 2GB RAM as opposed to 3GB on the U3 and 32GB internal storage which unfortunately is not expandable.

Up front, the IUNI U3 Mini features a beautiful 5.15-inch display with Full HD 1080p resolution. On the other hand, the U3 had a 5.5-inch 2K display. As for the camera, the phone features a 13MP rear shooter and a 8MP front camera.

iuni u3 mini 2

The company has managed to reduce its thickness to 9.3mm, but the battery is not drastically reduced. Instead of the 3000mAh one on the U3, this upcoming model features a 2900 mAh battery. This should give a similar battery life as the U3 since it features a smaller screen and slightly lower specs.

iuni u3 mini 3

As for the connectivity features, the IUNI U3 Mini will support GSM, TD-SCDMA, TD-LTE, LTE FDD, WCDMA networks. Naturally, like all IUNI devices, this particular model will run on Android 4.4.4 based IUNI OS. The phone will come in black, white and green colors.

While the official price tag of the device is not yet announced, it is said that the phone will be available for around 1999 Yuan, which comes to $320. This is almost the same price as the IUNI U3.

Xiaomi has no plans for a 399 Yuan Redmi phone, says CEO

Remember the ($65) 399 Yuan Redmi phone  which hit TENAA back in December?

redmi

While we were waiting for an official announcement of this super cheap LTE enabled device, earlier today, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun said that the company has no plans for a 399 Yuan Redmi phone.

399 yuan redmi

He added that Xiaomi gives a lot of importance to the quality of products and user experience. In fact, he said that he is directly involved in the development and testing of all of the company’s products and as of now, its practically impossible to create a good phone within 399 Yuan. As a result, he posted on Weibo to clarify that the company had no plans for a super cheap Redmi device.

But if the company does not have a cheap Redmi in the pipeline, then we wonder which device hit TENAA in December. That particular model was running the Leadcore 1860 processor with 1GB RAM and a 720p OGS display.

So, Xiaomi may have had plans a few months back for such a device, but looks like those plans are now scrapped. Even at that time, we thought it was practically impossible to incorporate such specs with GSM / TD-SCDMA / TD-LTE network capabilities in a $65 phone and today’s post on Weibo only confirms that its further impossible without sacrificing on quality.

Interestingly, a recent rumor said that the 399 Yuan Redmi phone will be released by the end of March. But after this post, we can be assured that’s probably not going to happen.

So, would you have liked a 399 Yuan LTE enabled Xiaomi device? Or are you happy with the existing Redmi 2?

Huawei Ascend Mate 8/Honor 7’s Kirin 940/950 Processor Performance & Specs

Being one of the top Chinese mobile manufacturers, Huawei has been slowly and surely taking its place on the worldwide mobile market. With the help of its HiSilicon Kirin processors, the Huawei Ascend Mate smartphone line has been recognized as a proper competitor to most high end devices on the mobile market today.

A number of rumors and speculation have hit the web in the recent months, regarding the successor of the Huawei phablet, the Ascend Mate 8. While it is currently unknown whether the device will feature a Quad HD display, as Huawei chief Yu Changedong recently dissed the idea, it is certain that the Mate 8 will harness the power of  the newest HiSilicon Kirin 940/950 processor series. DJI gifts the new DJI Inspire One to James Cameron

DJI is without any doubt the world leader in camera drones and quadcopters. We have seen many great drones from this Chinese giant, which are much more precise and advanced than competitors.

DJI Inspire One James Cameron
Recently, DJI decided to gift a brand new DJI Inspire One to a great director, James Cameron. He is one of the best directors in Hollywood right now, having directed popular movies such as the Terminator, the Titanic and Avatar.

DJI posted a picture on their Weibo page, which showed James Cameron with the new DJI Inspire One. The post said that the company was looking forward to the director’s new work.

Camera equipped drones are increasingly becoming a part of the movie industry, as they can take aerial shots from angles that’s not even possible with helicopters. Before the advent of quadcopters, the only option for shooting an aerial action shot was with the help of an helicopter, but that brought a lot of issues such as safety, angle limitations etc.

Directors are increasingly relying on drones for such shots, as it brings down the cost and makes the movie set safer. In fact, many of the aerial action shots in the movie Expendables were filmed using drones.

While we have yet to see the widespread use of drones in film making mainly due to the legal limitations, UAVs such as the DJI Inspire One clearly shows that such drones can be powerful enough for professional shoots.

But drones such as the Inspire One are costly, and their price can easily go up to $3500. In fact, on banggood, the 4K equipped DJI Inspire One is listed for a whopping $3300.

Coolpad to announce a new Dazen phone with amazing battery life?

Back in January, Coolpad unveiled a brand new flagship device which showed off the workmanship and design philosophy of the company. The Dazen X7 featured a beautiful design with double sided glass and an aluminum frame.

dazen

Looks like the company is all set to announce another Dazen device in the market. While we have very little information about this upcoming device, it is said that the phone will have long lasting battery.

The existing Dazen X7 features a 2700 mAh battery inside a 6.5mm which is an impressive feat. However, given its 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display, the battery life on the device won’t be so good. Hence, Coolpad could be looking to work on this area with this upcoming device.

The teaser released by the company says that the device will be announced on 19th March 2015. The picture in the teaser looks like a powerbank with two microUSB ports. While its possible that the company may announce a new power bank, it could also represent the long lasting battery on the device. Also, its possible that the large battery on the phone helps it to act as a power bank to other devices.

As you can see, not much is clear about the upcoming smartphone, so its best to wait for the official launch which isn’t too far off.

Apple Watch may come in three new material options in 2015

Last year, Apple announced its first wearable in the market, the Apple Watch. And if the company is to follow its regular schedule, it will release a new edition of the Apple Watch by fall 2015.

apple watch new

Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known analysts at KGI securities recently said that Apple may release as many as three new casing for its new watch this year. These new materials are expected to go into mass production in Q4 2015 and may even be announced by the holiday season this year.

Unfortunately, Kuo didn’t specify what could be the new materials. But according to a recent report, Apple experimented with a platinum casing for its new watch. Platinum is much more premium than gold, which may translate into even higher price tag than the existing Apple Watch editions which start at $10,000.

Other possible materials include titanium, white gold, ceramic or even carbon fiber. There are even custom options like Rolex’s “Rolesor” and Hublot’s “Magic Gold”, but that’s not likely to end up in the next generation Apple wearable.

Kuo further adds in a report that Apple could sell anywhere between 15 million to 20 million units of its new watch this year. The shipments are expected to grow at a much higher rate for its second and third generation models.

Kuo has built up a reputation of predicting accurate information about Apple in the past. So, this report about new materials for the Apple Watch may come true.

SAIC and Alibaba invest $1 billion in the Internet Car Fund

Last year, SAIC, China’s leading automobile company entered into a partnership with Alibaba to develop internet enabled smart cars. Earlier today, both the companies jointly set up an Internet Car Fund of $1 billion to further speed up its research and development. This is an open capital fund which means other companies too are encouraged to invest and participate in the development of Internet cars.

saic alibaba internet car

The companies are said to be focusing on the needs of the user while developing such a car. SAIC Chief Engineer Cheng said that Internet will become an important aspect of a user’s car and travel plans. Wang Jian, Alibaba’s CTO also said that internet enabled cars will not only help people communicate effectively with their vehicles but also enable other cars to communicate with each other. This will further help in the development of unmanned vehicles in the future.

The partnership also aims to develop a new automobile ecosystem with relevant applications.

Last year’s press release gave us some idea about the plans of the company.

“Targeting end-user experience, the two companies will integrate Alibaba’s Yun operating system, big data, Ali communication, Autonavi navigation technology, Aliyun cloud computing and Xiami music with SAIC Motor’s resources in car and parts R&D and auto service trade, open and merge Internet and big data services. They will also provide users with smart travel solutions through combining and optimizing the two companies’ online and offline resources.”

The first internet car as a result of this partnership is expected to hit the markets by 2016.

ZTE Nubia Z9 spotted running AnTuTu benchmark

ZTE has an official event on March 26 where it will unveil a number of devices in the Z series lineup like the ZTE Nubia Z9 and the Z9 Max. While we patiently wait for the official announcement, the device was recently spotted on the AnTuTu benchmark test which revealed most of the important specs of the device.

The ZTE Nubia Z9 with the model number NX510J will reportedly feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with 3GB RAM. There will be a 5.2-inch display with a full HD 1080p resolution. The rear camera will be of 16MP while the front shooter of 5MP. Finally, the listing reveals that the phone will run on the latest Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update.

While the specs look high end, the older flagship model, i.e. the ZTE Nubia Z7 featured a 5.5-inch 2K display panel. So, it would make no sense for ZTE to bring down the size as well as the resolution on its successor.

nubia z9 benchmark

Also, according to the picture leaked on Weibo by the Ubuntu team, the device which ran this test had thick bezels, which is the exact opposite of what recent leaks and rumors say about the ZTE Nubia Z9. Several images claiming to be the Z9 flagship revealed a bezel-less design. So, its very likely that this is a new model in the Z9 lineup, which could end up as the ZTE Nubia Z9 mini.

The company usually announces three different variants in the Z series and the specs is probably of the smaller Mini version.

Anyways, we will have to wait only for a few more days to get full details about the upcoming ZTE devices. So stay tuned.
