DOOV’s quad-core S2L to be released around August: has 1.3GHz and can support 4G internet

1-14060H33Zb18

Reliable sources say that DOOV may choose to release the DOOV S2L in China during the summer break, somewhere in July or August. By releasing it in the summer, they hope to target students. Furthermore, the DOOV S2L will use a quad-core processor with a main frequency of 1.3GHz that can support 4G internet, probably the MT6582 LTE chip. MediaTek’s new terminal LTE products will be released around July.

The DOOV S2L has a beautiful design, sporting a 5-inch 720p display screen and measuring 143.6 x 71.28 x 8.9mm which is pretty good. It was also designed with IML architecture.

The DOOV S2L also supports TD-LTE and TD-SCDMA/GSM but it only has one SIM card slot. It can support the standard SIM card. It has 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM and runs on a 2000mha battery. Its operating system is the Android 4.42. It sports a 5mp/8mp dual-camera.

Now with four more cores! The octa-core DG650S revealed, costs 300 USD

Doogee has been releasing a lot of new products recently. They have also been releasing enhanced editions of some of their old ones. Not too long ago, they released the DG650S which now has four additional cores even though it has lower specs than the original.

1-140623143J5310

The original Doogee DG650 used the MTK6589 quad-core chipset. The new DG650S uses MediaTek’s MT6592 octa-core chipset. This is only one of it the improvements that were done. Another one is that its operating system was upgraded from the Android 4.2 to the Android 4.3. As for the specs for its display screen, even though it still sports a 6.5-inch 1080p display screen, the DG650 uses LTPS technology, not only maintaining a higher visual angle but also saving more energy.

The DG650S’s RAM is not as big as the quad-core version which had 2GB RAM. The new version only has 1GB. They kept its internal storage space at 16GB, probably to lower costs.

1-140623143P55P

This new version retains the rest of the specs of the original. It uses a 3500mha battery, has a 8mP front-facing camera and 16mp rear-facing camera, supports WCDMA/GSM dual-SIM, NFC, and OTG. It costs around 300 USD (somewhere between 1800 RMB and 1900 RMB).

Third-party services integrated in the Xiaomi Software to Engage Users in their Ecosystem

Xiaomi MIUI V5

Xiaomi System has been officially unveiled by the Chinese smart device and mobile service provider Xiaomi. As compared to MIUI, a Facebook Home-like launcher app is easier to install and download. It is equally expected that this customised Android ROM developed by the company will be prevailing as MIUI.

Xiaomi, who is known as a Smartphone manufacturer, profits from hardware sales, has always admitted its long term hope is in MIUI. On a daily basis, Xiaomi phone users and non-Xiaomi Android phones who download the ROM visit the software ecosystem. From the source of paid apps/in-apps content built-in browser, ads, paid themes, and other places, the company has been generating revenues.

Into a new channel known as Yellow Page, recently MIUI team is functioning to integrate all sort of local or online services. MIUI users whenever need the services like tracking the parcel status, use one-click WiFi service, search or buy the movie tickets, can go to the Yellow Page else than only locating the address and phone numbers.

From every group, MIUI selects one or two services. To all the third parties, each category will not be opened, says the company. In fact, by Xiaomi or its CEO Lei Jun, many services have been funded for example; the Wifi service is given by Miwidi funded from Xiaomi. It is likely anticipated that from the family of Xiaomi, more services will be added later on.

While the MIUI users exceeded, in March 2013, from MIUI the monthly revenue generated accomplished RMB10 million (more than US$1.6mn). In the last month, MIUI declared 50 million users, which was more than three times of the last year. The revenue growth was powerful that even the user growth was not, as heard by examiners.

7 million were the separate downloads and 43 million were Xiaomi phone users out of the 50 million users of MIUI, as per the data revealed by the Xiaomi. To this determined company, 7 million cannot be a contented number. Downloading of the Android ROM is known only to the nerd users as it is the estimation that by sale of phone, MIUI user growth will be motivated.

Earlier the company introduced a Mi Launcher and now an app like Xiaomi System. Whenever the user will be using a Smartphone, Android launcher will be the latest “entry-point” application that users wanted to have, after which it will be controlled in same way to MIUI.

Nevertheless as compared to the MIUI, though Xiaomi System is not as powerful but still it encloses the core services akin to Mi Launcher, caller identification/text applications, Cloud storage services.

On June 25 and 26, in Lazada Philippines, THL T100s will drop the price to Php 10,599 from T100s to challenge Xiaomi

165648_103562_0

In the Philippines, on June 25 and 26, 2014, through LAzada, THL Smartphone’s, the exclusive and official distributor will be selling THL T100s Monkey King 2, enormously Php 3,400 off its standard SRP for only Php 10,599.

On June 26, 2014, interestingly, by Lazada, the price tag of Xiaomi Mi3, Php 10,599 will be distributed. Through the same online store, the same amount on the same date of present Octa Core flagship will be lowered of SRP by THL is not a coincidence. As for the promo or for the motivation, no appropriate reason has been revealed by the Novo7. Also it is deemed that it is just for the reason as in the Philippine market, the entry of counter Xiaomi’s is meant to be challenged.

In the country, by a challenging mobile player as well as a fellow Chinese, from Xiaomi’s debut, they are trying to seize the attention of Pinoy customers. More than the Apple iPhonem in China, the Xiaomi Smartphone’s are more affordable and are primarily sold in the market. Even they are growing on a high speed over there as per the Xiaomi Mi3 headlines.

According to the answer of question “Xiaomi will only be selling 3,000 Mi3 sets on June 26. Will you also be matching that figure?”  Asked to Sir Adrian at the meeting, we intend to sell more on those two days; the 25th and 26th. So yes, the promo will be valid until T100s stocks last.”

There are number of players in the market and as a competitor of Xiaomi, there are many reasons. The foremost is that there are many techniques to sell the product. Secondly, customer has their growing needs and demands. Finally the thing that though the company works very well, still there are some weaknesses left which competitors took advantage of.

The Motorola Moto X+1 to support 4K video recording

This year, Motorolla plans to release the successor of the Moto X smart phone, the Moto X+1. Information on their newest flagship phone has recently been revealed online.

According to TK Tech News, the Moto X+1 can record 4K videos which, right now, not many smart phones can do.

20140623_153253_482

Recently, a video taken using the Moto X+1 was released on the internet. Even though the quality is not that great, PockNow says that this could be cause of Youtube’s compression. However, this video is not very reliable. According to Tech News, the phone used is actually a prototype. This can also explain why the video quality is not very good.

The Moto X+1 is a bit larger than the Moto X and may sport a 5-inch display screen with a resolution of up to 1080p. This could be a very powerful phone but don’t expect it to be any cheaper.

THL, first equipped with MT6592 LTE processor brand

thl-5000

In June’s proclamation, the latest Thl mobile phone has came in front. Recently held Mobile Asia Expo, the prevailing one associated with it is 4G THL. Even it reveals carrying of diverse MTK programs. In the unremitting perfection, the new 4G is in line.

In the endorsement of THL L968, the uncovered pictures showed that this model is equipped with MTK MT6592 processor along with that it reinforces the 4G LTE network bar display for notification. Even to confirm that mobile can support TD-LTE/TD-SCDMA mobile network, there is a logo of 4G on the upper left corner.

The overall design style forms that this inexplicable height with THL 5000 approaching, which other core message cannot perceive. In THL L968, the latest machine is likely having been uncovered. By 1.4GHz frequency MT6592M main eight-core processor, configuration is also alike. Apparently, THL 5000 4G version will be debuted as THL L968. The approximate cost will be thousand or so if the THL L968 that is THL L968 of 4G editions.

MediaTek new products have been started by THL and MediaTek comprising MT6592 eight-core. THL T100S has been announced by THL. The relationship between the two, chairman of MediaTek, Mr. Cai Mingjie visited the site. THL leased in the 4G era, initiating terminal products on very substantial possibilities.

An analysis of next-gen CPUs: MediaTek MT6732 MT6752 and MT6595

23378a2d0a25c6ade2c1da1c06c5213f_w_680_h_425

Competition among CPU manufacturers has been fierce in the market with Qualcomm currently on top while MediaTek has taken a hold of half the market, followed by Samsung and Intel…

“In the world of Kung Fu, speed defines the winner.” This is a principle that MediaTek has long followed.

Later this year, MediaTEk will release three new CPUs, the MT6595, MT6752, and MT6732.

The state of MTK is very clear

The MT6732, which uses four A53 cores, is set to replace the MT6589. It supports up to 13mp for photo taking and 1080p for video recording, and 720p display resolution.

The MT6752, which uses eight A53 cores, will replace the MT6582, supports up to 16mp photo taking, 1080p video taking, and 1080p display resolution.

The MT6595, which uses four A17 cores and four A7 cores, uses the classic big.Little framework, supports up to 20mp photo taking, 4K video recording, and WQXGA display resolution.

It should be noted that all three are LTE-supported.

5631e6ee59a4175cd06c305840562ff3_mw_680_wm_0_wmp_3

Two editions of the MT6595 CPU will be released. One will be the original MT6595 and the other will be the MT6595m which has a lower frequency and weaker specs.

Regarding the performance, according to ARM, the A17 and A15 are about the same, but this CPU’s power consumption is not that great. Based on how it is used with the RK3288, the A17 seems to work normally. As for the GPU, it uses the PowerVR G6200 which is not bad but overheats more easily.

According to the table, we can see that both VPU supports, at most, the DDR3 at 933MHz. Like the Qualcomm 808, it supports up to 14.9Gbps.

Regarding its photo specs, according to MediaTek, cameras that use the MT6595m can support up to 16mp while the MT6595 can support up to 20mp. As for its video recording specs, the MT6595 supports recording 4000 pixel videos.

5470abe68052c72afb19be45bb418d02_mw_680_wm_0_wmp_3

The MT6595 does not have any clear strengths but it does not have any clear weaknesses either. Does it support 2k display resolution? Yes. 4k video? Yes. 4G internet? Yes. 5GHz WiFi? Yes. HD cameras? Yes.

You can get all of this at even under $40. You can just go ahead and take it. So, what are you waiting for? Just grab your phone and dial this hotline (65958888) for a very awesome phone!

What you should take note of, though, is its release date.

There’s a saying, “Speed is the soldier’s greatest weapon.” Not surprisingly, we may see the first device to use the MT6595 at the end of the year. At this point, the MT6595 won’t have any competition. CPUs with better performance will be too expensive while the performance of cheaper ones will not be as good. Given the reasonable price and average performance, this chipset should sell more than the rest.

To compete with the MT6595, Qualcomm will use the Snapdragon 805 which will use Krait cores. Its benchmark test score is about the same as the MT6595 although in practical use, the 805 has better memory and bigger bandwidth.  But the MT6595 could sell with the following slogan: “Eight cores! Beautiful words to the Chinese market’s ears!”

Even though MediaTek hopes to enter the high-end market with the MT6595, the Snapdragon 800 has already sold at under 2000 RMB (321.20 USD). Phones that carry the MT6595 are expected to compete with each other costing between 1000 RMB (160.52 USD). Some phones may even be sold at under 999 RMB (160.36 USD).

Will the MT6595 be a success or a dud?

Cubot X6 Review: Powerful and Agile Octa-Core China Smartphone

After a few days of waiting, we finally get hold of one of the most powerful China smartphones available on the global market nowadays — the octa-core Cubot X6.

What we’ve got in hand is a priority package, containing the Cubot X6 white variant running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, complete with accessories.

We’ve spent several hours and even days just to scrutinize each and every attribute and feature entrenched into this new handset we received from Chinavasion. After performing a series of hands-on tests on the device, we came up with these subsequent findings.

Unboxing: First Impression

While this may not be that necessary, we just want to note that we’re impressed with the unit’s external packaging; it’s neat and simple but totally protects the phone.

And to ensure we don’t miss any important detail on it, we deliberately took these very first photos while unboxing the new Cubot X6.

cubot-x6-unboxing

6 Design: Closely akin to Sony Ericsson, Xperia Arc S

First glance on the handset, it seems to look similar to the elapsed Sony Ericsson that is schemed with a rectangle front side, with top and bottom edges that are slightly curved outside. Meanwhile, the protective glass that curves into the bottom lip so as its back cover that curves into the left and right edges, makes the device looks closely similar to that of the Xperia Arc S.

cubot-x6-review-front

As of its texture, the X6 delivers a premium feel as its rear side adopts an HTC One-style matte finish.

The new X6 handset however seizes one distinctive feature, and that is its aluminum-rounded swelling back camera with a gilded earpiece mouth.

cubot-x6-review-back

Apart from its curve edges, the new Cubot X6 also has some clever parts. If you can see in the previous images, the handset is schemed with two lips with a joined back cover, replacing the top and bottom edges. Such design, combined with the seemingly Arc S, make the device look fairly slim.

cubot-x6-review-side

There are no redundant physical buttons but you’ll find the volume rocker and power keys on the device.
Overall craftsmanship is reasonable, except the seams that are a little bit wide, allowing more dusts to lodge in later exposure.

X6 Display: Good yet not that amazing

It’s good to see a 5-inch phone with IPS display sporting 1280 x 720 resolution but the Cubot X6’s pixel density of 294 PPI is not as high as that of THL T100s or Zopo ZP998s with 401 ppi. This makes the X6’s color display less amazing that other China phone variants.

But then again, you will see no traces of granules or mosaic textures from the graphical user interface or on-screen HD images.

One thing we like most of the X6 in terms of its display feature is its 720p presentation with its eye-comforting mild contrast.

X6 Performance: Buttery smooth

As you may all know, the 8-core MTK6592 CPU with Mali-450 GPU is among the toughest powerhouses seen on low-cost China phones to date. Given its 8-core processor, we already expected and later, have proven that the new Cubot X6 is absolutely responsive and buttery smooth. This is by far what we’ve deemed the phone’s vital asset.

You too will be amazed to see how such an affordable smartphone can complete many different actions with no delays, as we tried to toggle between home screens, widget layouts and applications. Loading of images are likewise very smooth. Opening and closing of applications are even twice as fast than on other high-powered Chinese smartphones like Zopo ZP998. No lags, no freezes.

I tried toggling between games that require high graphics performance like Asphalt 8: Airborne, Real Racing 3, and NFS: Most Wanted and I wasn’t a bit disappointed.

X6 Battery: Long-lasting

Battery life is definitely a key factor for high-powered smartphones so its owners could enjoy all day without having to charge every 3 to 4 hours. And we’re glad to know Cubot supplied the X6 with the 2200mAh battery — good enough to play NFS all day, literally.

X6 Camera: Neat capture but not impressive

Apparently, we’ve noticed that the 13MP back camera can hardly record details and also the color of the pictures is somewhat lifeless. In short, the X6 camera has low contrast and resolution.

Bottom Line

The Good

The new Cubot X6 proves that MTK6592 is definitely superior and better than the prior versions of MTK chipsets, given its smooth operation and fast  performance. On top of all its stock features is USB OTG, which allows you to just plug and play a thumb drive and copy files to and fro.

The Bad

Most notable weakness of the X6 is its low contrast, low resolution camera.
As for network connectivity, the X6 also lacks LTE service since the MTK6592 chipsets are purportedly not compatible with the LTE network. This means that users won’t be able to use the phone for 4G network access. In addition, the Cubot X6 also lacks the NFC module.

Conclusion

Bottom line, Cubot X6 is primarily schemed for swift performance operations in addition to its being affordable and highly responsive performance. If you’re into China phones, Cubot X6 is actually a good and powerful smartphone to start with.

[Video] GEAK announced the second generation GEAK watch Ⅱ round design:will come to the market in September

Yesterday, GEAK officially announced a video of its second generation GEAK watch. This is not an official release, as previously I learned from GEAK’s CEO Gu Xiaobin , GEAK overturned the first-generation GEAKwatch designs, all over again. The biggest change is the concept, GEAK wants their GEAKwatch has a consistent appearance with traditional watches. So, they choose a rounded shape design.

Metal case, leather strap and round LCD screen, which became signature elements of the second-generation   GEAKwatch.

Select the circular shape is actually a very risky practice, particularly this involves the application interface matching. From the current interface, this product will still support telephone answering, text and micro letter messages and other information reminds, meanwhile it can expand the television remote control via App functions, based on this functions, this   system should still be an Android device.

According GEAK’s plans, this product will not appear on the   market until September, in the next three months, there will be a design improvement process which will invite users to participate in, at the same time closed and opened beta will be in progress.

THL 5000 real pictures leaked

This is the THL 5000, a ground-breaking supercharged smartphone with a 5000 mAh battery that most large tablets would be proud of. Coupled with some impressive specifications and clever features this model promises much. Is it now possible to get a smartphone that does what you want for as long as you want? This battery may well be the technology that brings smartphones some real stamina.

11261095485092-1-10_meitu_5 11261093455184-1-9(2)_meitu_4 11261092363158-1-8_meitu_3 11261091115984-1-7_meitu_2 11261090333250-1-6_meitu_1

The design is impressive, the phone looks sleek and the body is thin at 8.9mm.

The screen of the THL 5000 is a 5 inch 1080 x 1920 resolution IPS display, protected by third generation Gorilla Glass technology. It is powered by an octa-core Mediatek MT6952 chipset running at 1.7 GHz and loaded with the powerful quad-core Mali 450 GPU which clocks at 700MHz and is capable of running even 3D games with no trouble . The rear camera is a 13 megapixel Sony Exmor with a 5 megapixel at the front. There’s 2GB of RAM and a fairly substantial 32GB of expandable on-board storage, so space is certainly nothing to worry about. A raft of extra features are present in the THL 5000; NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, FM Radio, GPS and OTG. There are many gesture-support functions, including customisable quick gestures (e.g. draw a ‘c’ to fire the camera when the screen is locked) and double tapping wakes the phone from sleep mode. The specifications are very impressive, as the AnTuTu score pictured below shows:

The specifications then are all very impressive, but none as much as the main feature of the THL 5000: that enormous battery. Modern smartphones suffer massively due to the failure of battery technology to keep up with the huge performance capacity. Being able to play great games is all well and good, but to do this for any real length of time means finding a socket or being without a phone for some of the day. The THL offers a solution to this problem: according to the manufacturer, the 5000 mAh battery, made by Amprius, is 25-30% more powerful than other current batteries and can even be used to charge other devices. It can, THL assert, power 47 hours of talking or 11 hours of internet use or 11.6 hours of video playback. This is unprecedented and makes the THL 5000 a hugely desirable model for the heavy media or gaming user and as such it’s well worth the $299 asking price.

Huawei Honor 6 with Kirin 920 chipset to be unveiled on June 24

The new Huawei Honor 6 is imminent. It remains to be seen what the actual capabilities of this high-end smartphone will be but there are rumours of something special. There’s a press event scheduled to be held at Beijing’s Olympic Stadium on June 24th which should fill in the information gaps, but until then we have just speculation. Speculation about what may be the fastest smartphone ever made.

Huawei have given us some facts; the Honor 6 has the octa-core Kirin 920 CPU and 3GB RAM. The screen is said to be a 4.9 inch Full HD resolution and there will be a 13 megapixel camera capable of shooting 4k video. There will be an Android OS too. These are impressive specifications but they are not the full story. It is the Antutu score that has the rumour mill working overtime, and the story has been running for a long time. There was, some time ago, a Huawei benchmark score of almost 38000 discovered by Android users, this is a better result than the Galaxy S5, Xiaomi Mi 3 and the HTC One (M8). It is hard to know for sure due to the contestable accuracy of Huawei’s previous benchmark results, with them not matching up in practice to the official figures reported. While there are no official statistics yet, and the hope is for accuate ones, there is a rising optimism that the Huawei Honor 6 may be the smartphone equivalent of lightning.

There are no official availability and pricing information  as yet but there will be much more to report after June 24th, we’ll keep you posted.

Chipset showdown: Kirin 920 vs. Snapdragon 805

It’s the battle of the processors. On one side we have Huawei’s own octa-core Kirin 920. On the other side we have Qualcomm’s quad-core Snapdragon 805. Who will emerge victorious?

The Kirin 920 was made using 28nm architecture and uses the big.Little framework. It consists of four Cortex-A15 (1-2.5GHz) cores and four Cortex-A7 (1.2-1.6 GHz) cores, both being very powerful cores. Its GPU is the Mali-T628, ARM’s newest GPU, which can support a display resolution of 2560 x 1600. Its frequency band is the BalongV7R2 which supports LTE Cat 6 (the Kirin 910’s built-in Balong V7R1 is Cat 4). It’s the first band to be integrated with the Cat 6. It also supports roaming, SGLTE/CSFB and 4G voice messaging programs like VoLTE.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805 is a 64-bit processor with each core having a main frequency of 2.7GHz. Its GPU is the Adren 420. It also supports high-resolution display screens. It uses the Gobi 9×35 modem and, like the Kirin 920, supports Cat 6. At most, it can run on 300mbps. It also supports Blue Ray 4.1, GPS and other features.

Samsung’ will release an LTE-A version of the Galaxy S5 with the Snapdragon 805 while Huawei’s Honor 6 will use the Kirin 920. Which one do you think will be better?
