We know that Chinese gadgets may have some defects and often you don’t get a platform to share these problems with the manufacturers. However, we here at Gizmochina are offering a brand new program wherein we invite all those who are having some major issues with their Chinese smartphones to report it to us.

Yes, you can report your problems with a Chinese gadget by mailing to [email protected]. Please ensure that the complaint is in Microsoft Word format.

Please make sure that you send in all the details about the problem you are facing along with relevant screenshots and technical details. We want you to inform us as well as others what exactly is the problem faced by you. As a result, make sure that you give out as much relevant details as possible.

If your complaint turns out to be genuine and important, we will publish it directly on our website. Remember that the complaint report needs to be in perfect English and in an organized manner. This will ensure that everyone understands the problem easily.

What’s more, for every well written complaint with details, we will pay you between $10 – $50 for sharing it with us. So, make sure that you write your complaint perfectly before sending it to us. No payment will be made for unpublished complaints or posts that are not persuasive / informative.

So if you have something to report, please make sure you following the below guidelines to ensure that it gets published:

IUNI Launches IUNI I1 – Beautiful Smartphone for Women

IUNI is one of those Chinese companies that is known for releasing great products for bargain prices. However, company’s products are not officially available to purchase for international customers, but they can be purchased via third party resellers (like many of the Chinese devices). The company has made itself famous by announcing devices like all-aluminium IUNI U2 and later on the IUNI U3, which is still a beast of the phone as far specs go.

This time around IUNI has just officially announced a new “Miss Puff” (if the translation from the Chinese is correct) smartphone, which carries the model name I1. This device seems to be designed for female users in mind as it carries a pink colour and some software, which should be loved by women.

As far as the specs go, IUNI i1 uses a 5.2-inch 1080p screen (with a 2.5D curved glass), it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor. Also, it has 2GB of memory and 32GB of storage (most likely non-expandable). What is more, there is a 8mp/13mp camera combo on the front and the back, respectively. Moreover, the battery capacity reaches 3000mAh.

As far as female oriented features go, the device will have a self-timer beauty mode, which will enhance the face by doing dome tricks like face-lifting, whitening, giving a big eyes effect (popular in Asia), softening etc. What is more, the device will have a 15 seconds beauty video. Morever, IUNI i1 also supports automatic face recognition feature. Finally, there will be a lossless zoom feature on the front facing snapper!

Software wise, the phone will be equipped with IUNI’s proprietary IUNI OS, which will have “zero bloatware” except for the female oriented features.

The phone will come in two variants, which include white and pink. Also, it will spot the aluminum-magnesium alloy frame.

In addition, there will be two retail versions. One will be IUNI i1 Lite, which will cost 1999 Yuan and the pricier one (2399 yuan), which will come with some extras that include jewelry box packaging and some valuable accessories for females. The items will go on sale tomorrow at Lynx Electric City in China. International availability or pricing is not yet detailed.

Last week, we came to know that Oneplus was working on a new product for 2015. Later, we were almost convinced that the product was going to be a drone.

And today, the company has officially announced its new drone, the OnePlus DR-1. This isn’t a monstrous UAV like the DJI Inspire but its equipped with basic functions to let you have some fun.

Since flying drones is the new craze, people are often confused as to which one to buy. There are plenty of cheap yet good options available in the market right now, and Oneplus’s entry into this market just makes things more competitive.

And like always, the company offers this OnePlus drone DR-1 for an affordable price tag of $19.99. In this price, you get a four rotor drone weighing about 12.5 +-2.5 grams. There’s a 3.7V 100mAh battery which can charge to full in just 20 minutes and will provide flying times up to 8 minutes. Unfortunately, the lack of a camera is a let down, but at this price you can’t expect much.

Times Have Changed Apple, Letv is Coming!

We have already heard all the buzz about something spectacular coming from the newcomer to the smartphone’s industry – Letv. One of reasons that keeps us waiting for the April 14th, when company’s event will be held, is that they may announce the mysterious bezel less “super phone”.

It seems that the company is not shy at all to strike directly at Apple as some posts by Chairman and CEO Jia Yueting suggest.

This teaser seems to be a poster of the conference, where company tries to prove that their time has come to replace Apple. The post on Weibo sounds like “the times are changing, the role has changed, the same spirit! From 1984 to 2015 the Letv invites you to break boundaries”. The poster also confirms the launch date, which will be April 14, 14.00.

According to some previous reports, the Letv may even launch two “super phones”, one being a high-end, another being a lower-end version.

The year of 1984, which is mentioned in the poster is the year when Apple introduced the Macintosh, which managed to change the computer industry. As the poster further suggests, Letv is ready to change the smartphone (or maybe even some other?) industry in 2015. Pretty brave move we would say. Well, we just have to wait and see for will happen on April 14th if the products that will be released are worth all the buzz.

Huawei Kirin 930 SoC is built using the 28nm process and not 16nm!

Huawei’s Hisilicon Kirin range of processors have come a long way since it first released in the market. Now, manufacturers as well as users are recognizing the potential of this new chipmaker.

The company’s latest chipset in the market is the Huawei Kirin 930. Huawei recently revealed in a presentation that the Kirin 930 uses a modified version of low power consuming Cortex A53 chipset to boost performance. So, with the enhanced four Cortex A53e and four regular Cortex A53 cores, the Kirin 930 balances power and performance.

But ever since we came to know about that Huawei Kirin 930 was powered by all Cortex A53 cores, we were wondering whether the chipset was made using the efficient 16nm process.

Now, Chinese Mobile Phone League Secretary General, Old Yao says that the Huawei Kirin 930 processor uses a 28nm process instead of 16nm TSMC process unlike earlier rumored. It is said that the upcoming Kirin 950 will use the 16nm process from TSMC. But unfortunately, the Huawei P8 which will launch on April 15 will use Kirin 930 chipset, so we may not see mind blowing performance from this smartphone.

Redmi 2A benchmarks – Unbelievable results for a 599 yuan phone

Redmi 2A was showcased today in China with a price tag of just 599yuan / 96$. The price is very near to Redmi 1 which makes it a great buy. It has all the features of Redmi 2 but with better performance and built.

Specifically, Xiaomi Redmi 2A follows most design and configuration of Redmi 2, but the processor is changed from Snapdragon 410 to domestic LC1860, while the five-mode baseband is replaced to three-mode baseband.

LC1860 processor has a 4 + 1 core Cortex-A7 architecture, clocked at 1.5GHz, GPU for Mali-T628 MP2, theoretically CPU performance has decreased from Snapdragon 410, but GPU should have won.

When the Redmi 2A ws tested,It ran into 23351 points , and in our previous tests , Redmi 2 hardly crossed 20,000.

Redmi 2A is better than its sequel in every aspect except RAM management.

Of course, one can’t run a benchmark and determine the overall quality of a mobile phone, as Qualcomm’s platform stability, maturity and other aspects of the baseband should be better than the LC1860 platform.

YunOS Powered Newman With the Unique Fingerprint Sensor Could Be Priced at 1499 Yuan

Alibaba’s very own YunOS has become increasingly active these days. The number of manufacturers, which want to adopt this OS is rising day by day and device maker Newman is one of them.

Well, Newman is not widely known for its mobile devices, but it has been producing other gadgets that involve mp3 and mp4 players for quite a while in China.

The company has recently revealed that its upcoming device, which will be released on April 8th, will run Alibaba’s YunOS. As we have already reported, the device will spot some unique features, which include a finger print scanner, which is placed on the back of the device. Also, there will be the rotating wheel on the side of the smartphone.

Today, the general manager of Beijing Sino Market Research company Sun Qi claims that Newman device will support the fingerprint payment options and a fast charging feature.

What is more, it is said that it will cost 1499 Yuan, which is pretty low for the the device, which has some decent looks and a few unique features. We have to wait and see till April 8th if Newman is ready to impress the mobile world.

Xiaomi Mi4 Price Officially Reduced by 200 Yuan

In addition to a variety of new products that were announced today, Xiaomi also surprised the consumers that they are officially reducing the price of their highly popular Xiaomi Mi4 smartphone. The price is sliced by 200 Yuan meaning that now it costs just 1799 Yuan instead of 1999 Yuan in China.

What is more, the lower end Mi4 edition (which is basically the same device, but has reduced 2GB of RAM amount) is now priced at 1699 instead of 1799 Yuan.

Both devices will be available to buy in China on April 8th for the above mentioned prices. We have to say that the price is really low for a hardware you are getting. A quick reminder that Xiaomi Mi4 still has a lot to offer as it has a Snapdragon 801 chip, which is clocked at 2.5 ghz, 3 GB of Ram, 16/64 GB of internal storage (non-expandable, however), 13mp/8mp camera combo with f/1.8 aperture and more. All of this is packed into a beautiful and sturdy body, which is surrounded by a metal frame.

ZTE Nubia Z9 Max Teardown

Although Snapdragon 810 chip, which is inside many of todays flagships including ZTE Nubia Z9 Max, is really powerful, there have been a lot of talks that it has overheating issues. One of the solutions here is to reduce the power of the chip as the HTC did with its flagship M9. They managed to solve the heating issue, but they they did with a significant loss of performance.

After the Numbia Z9 Max was released, it was put through some heat tests and it managed to do a bit better, which equals to the 42 degrees of the shell temperature. It is quite warm, but still acceptable compared to HTC One M9 45-50 ℃.

Besides regular points, this teardown will focus on the Snapdragon chip issues and what Nubia did with its Z9 Max to overcome overheating issues.

First of all, in addition to the metal shield protection of the chip, there is also a large area of graphite thermal layer, a metal synthetic coatings and some other protection layers to reduce the heat exposed to the shell of the device and, probably, the temperature of the chip itself.

Besides the chip, the teardown reveals that the device uses Samsung LPDDR4 3GB memory chips. Also, the flash memory is Samsung eMMC 5.0. What is more, there is a battery along with the proprietary charging mechanism, which has charging voltage of 4.4V, 3.84V operating voltage and the energy density of 70Wh / L.

Overall, the ZTE Nubia Z9 Max is really well made both inside and out. Everything under the hood is neatly placed and it shows a great workmanship. This device definitely shapes up to be one of the better offerings in 2015.

55-inch Xiaomi TV Is Official For 4999 Yuan

In addition to the 2499 Yuan Xiaomi Mi Note Ladies edition (which has a pink colour), 499 yuan Red Rice 2A, 99 yuan intelligent scales, 49 yuan strip, Xiaomi also released a 55-inch TV for 4999 Yuan.

From the design standpoint, the significant different between the new 55-inch and the old 49-inch model is the screen size. Other design aspects remain very similar. However, the story lies under the hood as the new Mi TV offers a substantial upgrade over its predecessor.

First, the new TV is equipped with Samsung’s true 4K RGB LCD screen (3840×2160 resolution) and Radiant backlight module. What is more, the TV is equipped with top of the line MStar 6A928 1.4GHz processor (4K video decoding capabilities up to 60 frames per second, supports H.265 10-bit hardware decoding). Further, the 55-inch device is equipped with Mali-760 MP4 GPU, 2GB of DDR3 RAM and has 8GB of built-in storage.

In addition, HDMI interface sees an upgrade to 2.0 version and supports the 4K H.265 60fps video playback . TV is also equipped with a 6.2 Soundbar speaker and a new all-aluminum wireless subwoofer, which has embedded the latest Dolby Sound (Dolby Audio) virtual surround sound technology. All of these audio components are said to be capable of presenting similar to 5.1 surround sound experience.

55-inch Xiaomi Mi TV has the official price set to 4999 yuan in China. For this price point, you will have a Soundbar and aluminum subwoofer included in the box. The availability starts on April 8th, which will be reservation-free to Chinese customers. However, we have no word on international availability.

Xiaomi Smart Weighing Scale announced for 99 Yuan ($16)

Just as expected, Xiaomi unveiled a brand new Xiaomi smart weighing scale today. The device had already been leaked yesterday showing off its smooth design and round edges.

The new Xiaomi smart weighing scale is extremely sensitive. In fact, the company claims that it can measure weight differences up to 100 grams, which is almost the same as a glass of water.

The overall body is protected by tempered glass panels and the display is embedded into the body. There are 161 LEDs inside the device to show off the weight in pounds as well as kilograms.

Users can connect the Xiaomi smart weighing scale to a smartphone and can manage the weight of up to 16 people with its app. Once again, the product is quite cheap and will be available for sale from April 8 for 99 Yuan ($16).

The super cheap Xiaomi Redmi 2A smartphone is official! Costs just 599 Yuan

Yesterday, the company had showed off a new teaser with the words AA on top. Looks like it was the teaser for the cheapest Xiaomi smartphone till date, the all new Xiaomi Redmi 2A.

The company revealed this new smartphone just a few minutes after it announced the Xiaomi Mi Note Ladies Edition. Just as predicted, the new Xiaomi Redmi 2A will be powered by the low cost Leadcore SoC. It will feature L1860C quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz along with Mali T628MP2 GPU.

There will be a 4.7-inch display sporting HD 720p resolution. As for camera, the phone will have an 8MP shooter at the back and a 2MP shooter up front. You also get a decent 2200mAh battery at the back with fast charge support. Despite its entry level placement, the Redmi 2A supports 4G LTE Dual SIM Dual Standby.

As you can see, the Redmi 2A turns out to be one of the best smartphones in this price range. The phone will be available for sale for 599 Yuan. However, as a part of the Xiaomi festival, the Redmi 2A will be sold for just 499 Yuan on April 8.

Pink Xiaomi Mi Note Ladies Edition announced for 2499 Yuan

Xiaomi is consistently trying to expand its market share. The latest attempt from the company is with the announcement of the Pink Xiaomi Mi Note ladies edition. Like its name suggests, this particular phone is released to please the company’s female fans in China.

The company had earlier teased this product with the letters ‘NSSJ’ in a pink shade. We guessed that this could be a new women oriented product and we were right indeed.

The only major difference between the Xiaomi Mi Note Ladies Edition and regular edition is the pink colored body. Other than that, the hardware remains the same.

However, the price for this 16GB Ladies Edition has been increased to 2499 Yuan. The price has been bumped up mainly because the phone comes in a beautiful pink colored gift box with a 5200 mAh battery.

Entry Level Gree Smartphone hits TENAA, features Snapdragon 410

We already know China’s Gree Electric is interested in making smartphones. In fact, we have seen two images of the said Gree smartphone sporting a metal body. Now, it looks like we have some more news about the upcoming Gree smartphone as the device just hit TENAA.

A device named Gree G0111 was recently spotted on TENAA featuring similar looks as the ones that we saw a few days back. The phone has a very unique design as the top edges are sharp, however the bottom ones are round. The back is white in color while the front is completely black. Interestingly, we see a plastic body instead of the metal one that was leaked back.

As for the tech specs, the Gree smartphone features a Snapdragon 410 processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB of expandable internal storage. The phone measures just 8.8mm in thickness and will weigh about 118 grams. There will be a 5-inch display with HD 720p resolution. At the back, there will be a 5MP rear camera while up front, you will find a 2MP shooter.

For connectivity, the phone will support 4G, 3G and GSM networks. The full list of supported frequencies are given below:

Meizu had a very strong Q1 2015 reveals analyst

While there’s no doubt that Xiaomi dominates the sales in China, there are manufacturers like Meizu, OPPO and Vivo who also have a considerable share in this domestic market. Meizu in particular launched a number of new and affordable product in the past few months alone which will have definitely changed the numbers for the company in the Q1 2015. Now, we have some unofficial information about the sales figure of the company in the first three months of 2015.

Sun Changxu revealed on Weibo recently that Meizu along with other Chinese manufacturers are doing quite well in the first quarter of 2015. The sales was mainly driven by the Chinese Spring Festival season.

Sun also revealed some more information about Meizu’s sales figures. According to her, Meizu sold around 1.5 million units in January, 1.2 million units in February and 1.9 to 2 million units in March. The company’s quarter on quarter growth has been impressive. Last December, it sold around 1 million units, but in recent months, the company has reached the 2 million units sales mark, which is commendable.

The timing of the growth in sales hint that Meizu’s newest Blue Charm range could be responsible for such an amazing growth. Both, the Blue Charm Meizu M1 Note and the Meizu M1 (Mini) has attracted praises from experts and users alike, which is why we see a spurt in its sales. And given this rate, it looks like Meizu will easily reach its target sales of 20 million+ units by the end of 2015.

In comparison, Xiaomi sold over 61.12 million units in 2015, averaging about 5.1 million per month. Sun also said that Meizu is aiming to increase its production to 2 million units a month.

Meizu definitely has converted itself as a quality brand with affordable hardware. The M1 Note in particular has been the company’s best value for device.

Huawei P8 hits TENAA, Metal Body with MicroSD slot confirmed

Although most manufacturers unveiled their big guns at MWC 2015, some companies like Huawei decided to keep a separate event for its flagship announcement. The company recently confirmed the Huawei P8 event by releasing a teaser on its Weibo page.

Now, the Huawei P8 has finally hit TENAA. This means that we have some real information about this upcoming flagship from Huawei.

According to TENAA, Huawei P8 will come in six different versions, out of which there will be three different carrier versions. The model numbers of all the models as listed on TENAA are as follows: HUAWEI ALE-TL00、HUAWEI GRA-UL00、HUAWEI GRA-UL10、HUAWEI GRA-CL10、HUAWEI GRA-TL00、HUAWEI GRA-CL00. The three carrier version will support dual 4G networks. Also, all the versions will come with MicroSD card slots, dual SIM card dual standby support and Android 5.0 Lollipop OS version.

As expected, the Huawei P8 will have thin side bezels. From the images on TENAA, it looks like the phone is made from a mixture of plastic and metal. You can clearly see the golden metal frame as well as the metal finish at the back. However, there are some areas like the strip around the camera as well as the front, which looks like its made from plastic and then protected by glass.

Interestingly, the power button, volume buttons, microSD slot as well as SIM card slots are all located on the right side of the device. As a result, the left side is completely clean. Up front, the bezels at the bottom of the display looks quite thick, probably for the capacitive buttons. Coming to the back, we can see the camera sensor as well as the dual LED (probably dual tone) flash on top as well as the Huawei branding at the center.

Earlier rumors said that the phone will be just 6mm thin. And from these images, it does look like the phone is going to be slim, although we are not sure if its as thin as said before. The phone will most likely run on the latest chipset from Huawei’s Hisilicon Kirin range, the 64-bit octa-core Kirin 930 with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. There will be a 5.2-inch display sporting a full HD 10802p resolution with Gorilla Glass protection.

A leaked image almost confirmed the 13MP camera at the back. Finally, the phone will run on Android 5.0 version and will retail around 2999 Yuan ($480).

Huawei will officially unveil the flagship on April 14, so we are just 15 days away from getting more details about this exciting new product from the company.

Xiaomi MiPad 2 leaked, Images show a similar design and calling feature

After a bulk of rumours of MiPad 2, finally new picture has been released. The image refines the design of MiPad 2 and looks authentic. The specs are still unknown but you can check the specs which were leaked before.

The design looks very similar to Mi Note with the same curved glass and the placements of camera and sensors. It has a MI logo on the upper left and the earpice at center. It is possible that MiPad 2 may have calling feature. This seems to be a good step from Xiaomi as having Cellular data will eventually increase the portability. Seeing the looks of it, Xiaomi has made Mi Pad from a childish colorful tablet to a classy and sexy Tab.

It is running MIUI 6 and it could be the first device running MIUI based on lollipop but then you feel like as if you are day dreaming. Anyways, MiPad 2 has a metal frame and a glass back this time. We have also got a picture of it’s frame which could define the structure better.

MiPad was the first tablet from Xiaomi and was a succesfull device. MiPad recently launched in India with a Tegra k1 chip and 2GB RAM for Rs. 12,999.
