Just as the Android One versions of its phones have been getting the updates, so also have the Chinese versions. Today, it is the turn of the Nokia 7 to get its own slice of Android Pie in China.

The update comes a few days after the Nokia 6 (2018) also received the update in China. Other than Android Pie features, the update brings other new features to the phone such as support for Dual-SIM Dual-VoLTE, support for HD calls, and an optimized battery management system. It also brings support for aptX and aptX HD for Bluetooth audio, a redesigned camera UI and app store.

The Nokia 7 was released in 2017. It has a 5.2-inch 1080p display with a 16:9 aspect ratio and Gorilla Glass 3 on top. It is powered by the Snapdragon 630 processor and comes with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

A single 16MP f/1.8 camera with Zeiss optics sits on its back and a 5MP f/2.0 camera is in front for selfies. It also has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack, and Bluetooth 5.0. It packs a 3000mAh battery with support for 18W fast-charging.

When it launched, the phone ran Android 7.1 out of the box. It was updated to Android Oreo and has now received an update to Android 9 Pie.

After the Pixel devices, the search engine giant is expected to make the Android 9 Pie to devices that are listed under Android One program. Since HMD Global had confirmed at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 that all Nokia smartphones above Nokia 2 will join the Android One program, many Nokia phones are expected to receive Android 9 Pie update earlier than other smartphones from other companies. Today, through an official blog post, Google has confirmed that all the Android One devices and other phones that have joined the Android P Beta program will be treated with Android 9 Pie by the end of the fall.

All the Nokia Android One phones that are slated to receive the Android 9 Pie update Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 6.1 Plus (Nokia X6), Nokia 5.1 Plus (Nokia X5), Nokia 5.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 2.1. Among these, the Nokia 7 Plus is expected to get the final Android P update by the end of this month since it is one of the smartphones that have been enrolled in the Android P beta program.

Apart from Android One phones by HMD Global, other Nokia phones are also confirmed to receive Android P update. Around two months ago, Neil Broadley who is the global market manager of HMD Global had said that the Android P will be made available to entire Nokia portfolio. These means that other older Nokia phone such as Nokia 8, Nokia 7, Nokia 6, Nokia 5, Nokia 3, Nokia 2 and Nokia 1 will be also treated with Android 9 Pie. However, as mentioned above, Nokia Android One phones will be the first ones to be blessed with Android Pie.

It is a higher edition of the Nokia 7 smartphone that was launched in China last year. The handset that sports a full screen design features a 6000-series aluminum frame and a rear is made out of smooth plastic with ceramic feel. JerryRigEverything has carried out scratch, burn and bend tests on the Nokia 7 Plus to check its durability.

The 5.99-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display of the phone is shielded by the older Gorilla Glass 3 layer. The screen of the smartphone developed faint scratches on level 6 of Mohs scale of hardness and prominent marks were noticed at level 7. The Gorilla Glass 3 has turned out to be as strong as the newer Gorilla Glass 5. The 16-megapixel front-facing camera is protected as it placed under Gorilla Glass 3. There is no metal grill protection for the earpiece.

Scratching harder on the copper-colored metallic frame revealed the original silver coloring of the frame. This suggests that the metallic frame may lose its copper coloring if it develops a scratch through fall. The buttons and SIM tray of the phone are made out of the metal. The dual rear cameras are placed under the strong glass. The LED flash is covered with plastic.

The fingerprint scanner that is placed under the dual camera setup can be scratched through items like keys. However, it seems to function normally even after getting scratched. The rear panel of the Nokia 7 Plus has 6 layers of ceramic feel paint. The rear shell easily developed scratches when it was treated with a razor blade which is level 5 on Mohs scale of hardness.

When flame was applied to a certain area on the IPS LCD display of the phone for 10 seconds, the affected portion stopped working for some time and it took few more seconds to recover completely. The build of the phone is strong that it does not seem to flex a bit from the front or rear in the bend test.

The handset has just started updating to Android 8.1 Oreo, the latest stable version of Google’s operating system available. With Android P right around the corner, the device has received a big update weighing 698 MB which brings the firmware number of version to 224B.B01. The update is arriving via OTA alongside a complete changelog of all the improvements implemented into it, and it requires at least 1402 MB of free space in order to be installed correctly.

Besides the main improvements brought by Android 8.1 Oreo on every handset, Nokia 7 has just gained the support to dual VoLTE. This means that the phone now supports VoLTE technology on both its SIM card slots. Now, the phone can also show the battery status of devices connected via Bluetooth. Face Unlock has been added as well: the front camera will allow you to unlock your phone through 2D facial recognition. With this update, HMD Global has also added a Do Not Disturb mode for gaming and a Camera Pro mode which should allow experts to improve the quality of their photos through manual commands.

Now, the system theme can automatically adapt to the wallpaper color in order to provide a more beautiful and homogeneous user interface. The power management has been enhanced, so the battery should be able to last more. And the camera user interface has been enhanced as well, alongside the compatibility of 3.5 mm audio jack. At last, the new update heading on the Nokia 7 contains the latest security patch released by Google for the month of May.

If you live in China, you own a Nokia 7 but you still haven’t received the update, you can head to Settings and choose the software update tab to force its arrival.

Rumors surrounding the smartphone have claimed that the handset would be launching as Nokia X. However, other reports have claimed that it could be called Nokia X6. Today, the smartphone has been found listed on Suning.com with “Nokia X6” moniker along with its pricing and some of its key specifications.

According to the below image, the Nokia X6 that has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage is priced at 1,499 Yuan (~$237). The Nokia X6 is the first Nokia branded phone that features a 19:9 aspect ratio supporting notched display. The retailer will begin the reservations on May 15 starting at 15:30 PM (local time) in China. The official sales of the Nokia X6 is slated to begin on May 21. The listing reveals that the handset will be available in Black color. There is no information on the other color variants of the Nokia X6 in this new leak.

With such a pricing, it seems that the Nokia X6 will sit between the Nokia 6 (2018) and Nokia 7 Plus in China. The 32 GB and 64 GB variants of the Snapdragon 630 powered Nokia 6 (2018) are respectively priced at 1,299 Yuan (~$205) and 1,399 Yuan (~$220). The Nokia 7 that is also driven by Snapdragon 630 has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of RAM. It is available with 1,699 Yuan (~$268) pricing whereas the advanced Nokia 7 Plus that is packed with Snapdragon 660 chipset, 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage costs 2,299 Yuan (~$362) in China.

The Nokia 6 (2018) and Nokia 7 are both driven by the same chipset whereas the Nokia X6 is speculated to be fueled by the Snapdragon 636 mobile platform. Hence, the it appears that the Finnish firm may discontinue the Nokia 7 since it was launched in October 2017 or make it available with lower pricing than the Nokia X6. There is a possibility that the Nokia X6 may replace the Nokia 7 phone.

According to the TENAA listing of the Nokia X6, it features a 5.8-inch display that supports FHD+ resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels. TENAA listing has also revealed that the Nokia X6 may arrive in other RAM variants like 3 GB and 4 GB. It may also come in another internal storage version of 32 GB. It features 16-megapixel dual rear cameras and a front-facing camera of 16-megapixel. The X6 is packed with a 3,000mAh battery.

Today, a Chinese publication has revealed a leaked photo of what appears to be the real Nokia 7 Plus smartphone.

The screenshot shows that the Nokia 7 Plus could be the first Nokia phone to arrive with full screen design. The corners of the phone are rounded. Its 18:9 aspect ratio display is said to be placed under a 2.5D curved display.

“Namaste” mentioned on the top-left corner of the screen is an Indian word which means a respectful greeting. Also, an Indian name “Raj Sharma” is mentioned below the date on the screen. These things suggest that the smartphone could be heading to India soon.

At the top-right corner of the phone is the rumored 16-megapixel selfie camera. It also seems to be sporting the same stock UI from HMD Global that was first seen on the original Nokia 6.

The above renders that were leaked by Blass show that the Nokia 7 Plus will be arriving in the market as an Android One phone. The renders have also revealed that the Pearl White and Black color variants of the phone will be sporting orange accents. It is speculated that the handset could be sporting a metal unibody design and its finish will have a ceramic appeal.

Its Geekbench listing has revealed that it could be the first phone from the company to feature Snapdragon 660 chipset. The SoC will be coupled by 4 GB of RAM. The backside of the phone features Carl Zeiss certified dual camera setup that may include 12-megapixel and 13-megapixel sensors. The rear panel also features a fingerprint scanner.

It is likely to house a 6-inch display that will support Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. It may come preinstalled with Android 8.0 Oreo and since it is an Android One phone, it may be soon treated with Android 8.1 Oreo. As of this writing, there is no information available on its pricing.

Nokia 7

Two weeks ago, the retailer had introduced a discount of 900 Yuan (~$142) on the 4 GB and 6 GB RAM variants of the Nokia 7. Both the variants were launched with respective pricing of 2,499 Yuan and 2,699 Yuan, but their pricing were recently reduced to 1,599 Yuan (~$252) and 1,799 Yuan (~$284). Updated listing of the 6 GB RAM variant now shows that the retailer has further slashed its price by 100 Yuan (~$15.8) as it is now selling for 1,699 Yuan.

The Nokia 7 was introduced in China in October and its price has been slashed by 1,000 Yuan within few months after its launch. There is no official announcement on why the company has decided to sell it with reduced pricing. Even though the smartphone is yet to be made available outside of China, recent reports have revealed that the Finnish firm is working on an advanced model called Nokia 7 Plus that is driven by Snapdragon 660. It is speculated that it could be aimed towards international market.

Even the newly unveiled Nokia 6 (2018) is exclusively available for buying in the home country. Fresh information suggests two models of a same Nokia phone has been approved by Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the U.S. It is speculated that it could be the Nokia 7 or the second-generation Nokia 6 that would be arriving in the U.S. soon.

The model number of the two Nokia phones that have been certified by FCC are TA-1045 and TA-1016. These are single-SIM and dual-SIM editions of the Nokia 7 or Nokia 6 (2018) for the U.S. The FCC documentation of these phones state that they have been built to specifically function in the U.S. HMD Global has reportedly used a proprietary software to disable support for non-US frequencies on TA-1045 and TA-1016 that will make the smartphone usable in the U.S.

The FCC has revealed that the upcoming Nokia phone for the U.S. includes a 3,000 mAh battery and it will come preloaded with Android 8.0 Oreo. The Nokia 7 and Nokia 6 (2018) are both packed with 3,000 mAh battery. Also, both smartphones are now receiving the Android 8.0 Oreo update in the home country. Hence, it is difficult to tell whether the Nokia 7 or Nokia 6 (2018) would be landing soon in the U.S.

Nokia 7 is HMD Global’s first smartphone to arrive with glass chassis. Also, it is the first handset from the company to feature the Snapdragon 630 which is now also available on the newly unveiled Nokia 6 (2018) smartphone. The 32 GB and 64 GB Nokia 6 (2018) are respectively priced at 1,499 Yuan and 1,699 Yuan in China. It indicates that the base model of the Nokia 7 is now selling with a cheaper price tag than the highest configuration variant of the Nokia 6 (2018).

Nokia 7 comes with a 5.2-inch display that supports full HD resolution. It is fueled by a 3,000mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0. The rear panel of the Nokia 7 has Car Zeiss branded 16-megapixel camera whereas it is fitted with a 84-degree wide-angle selfie camera of 8-megapixel. The handset comes preinstalled with Android Nougat. The Finnish firm has rolled out Android 8.0 Oreo update for Nokia 7 users earlier this week. Rumors are rife that the company may launch the Nokia 7 smartphone in India by the end of this month.

Today, on the official Weibo account, the Finnish firm has confirmed that it has started rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo update for the newly unveiled Nokia 6 2nd Gen smartphone and the Nokia 7.

Before releasing the stable Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Nokia 8, the Finnish company had released the beta version. However, the company seems to have skipped beta version of Android 8.0 Oreo for the newly announced Nokia 6 (2018) and Nokia 7 that was unveiled in October 2017. The Weibo post that confirms the rollout of Oreo update for these phones also claims that the first-generation Nokia 6 will be also upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo very soon.

Currently, the Nokia 6 (2018) and Nokia 7 are only available in China. However, it is speculated that HMD Global will be bringing the Nokia 7 to India later this month.

Fresh information suggests that the recently spotted TA-1041 phone could be the international edition of Nokia 7. The global launch of the phone is likely to begin at the start of 2018.

Just as the Nokia 6 was exclusively available in China at its launch and later on it was made available in wider markets, the Finnish firm is also expected to bring the Nokia 7 to global markets after selling it exclusively in China.

HMD Global is speculated to debut the Nokia 9 flagship phone alongside a 2018 edition of Nokia 8 on Jan. 19. There is a possibility that the Finnish firm may use the same platform to announce the global edition of the Nokia 7. However, there is no official confirmation on the Jan. 19 launch event.

The black colour variant went on sale last month and went out of stock within minutes.

Now, the company has also started selling the white colour variant of the smartphone. The phone is now available for pre-order from online retailer JD.com and will start shipping from 12th December. To pre-order the phone, users will have to make a deposit of 99 Yuan (approximately $15).

The white colour variant of the Nokia 7 is priced at 1,999 Yuan (approximately $302) for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model. The 6GB RAM model is not yet available. Interestingly, the black colour model, which went on sale last month, starts at 2,499 Yuan.

While both the colour models come with glass body, the company says that they have a completely different feeling. According to the company, the back model has cool and smooth feel while the white model feels warm and delicate. The company said that the white version’s plating process takes seven steps to get completed, while the black version needs around 36 hours to complete the process.

Nokia 7 features a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with support for full HD screen resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. The screen is protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 3 on top. Under the hood, it is powered by Qualcomm‘s Snapdragon 630 processor clocked at around 1.8GHz along with 4GB RAM.

As of storage, it comes with 64GB onboard storage and also has a microSD card slot that allows expanding storage up to 128GB. The device features a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture and ZEISS lens. On the front, it packs a 5-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture and an 84-degree wide-angle view.

Fans of the Finnish firm are eagerly waiting for the launch of Nokia 9 flagship that is expected to arrive with a full screen design compared. A new Nokia phone with model number TA-1054 has received 3C certification. It is speculated that the TA-1054 device may launch as Nokia 9.

In the previous month, the Nokia TA-1041 and TA-1042 smartphones had received 3C certification. HMD Global had launched the TA-1041 phone as Nokia 7. However, the Nokia TA-1042 seems to be under the wraps. Rumors suggest that it could be a variant of the Nokia 7 or that of the Nokia 8 that is heading to China. Hence, the TA-1054 could be the rumored Nokia 9 phone.

Read More: HMD Hints Nokia 7 Isn’t Hitting India Anytime Soon

The Nokia 7 had launched around a month after it had received 3C certification. Since the TA-1054 received 3C approval on Sept. 26, the arrival of the phone seems to be close at hand. The back panel of the alleged Nokia 9 had appeared around two weeks ago. It revealed that it would be coming with vertical dual rear cameras like the Nokia 8. The back panel also features a cut-out for a fingerprint reader which suggests that the rumored Nokia 9 would be supporting an aspect ratio of 18:9.

The recently unveiled Nokia 7 phone has a glass rear. Hence, the rumor mill claims that the alleged Nokia 9 is speculated to house a glass back. Some of the renders of the Nokia 9 that have surfaced in the recent past have also revealed that the phone would be coming with a bezel-less design.

It is difficult to speculate on the arrival time of Nokia 9 flagship because the Nokia 8 was unveiled recently in August. The arrival of Nokia 9 can cannibalize the sales of Nokia 8. The rumor mill has revealed that it will be arriving with a Snapdragon 835 chipset along with 6 GB and 8 GB RAM variants. Other rumored features of the Nokia 8 include 128 GB storage, IP68 certified chassis and iris scanner.

The HMD Exec disclosed that the Nokia 7 was designed for Chinese consumers and the company does not have any plans to bring it to India. Looks like Nokia only plans to release its models in specific markets where they are adjudged to be able to do well based on customer preference. For instance, the Nokia 8 flagship was first announced in the U.K and is available in other parts of Europe but it is yet to be launched in China and the U.S. The Nokia 2 has just been announced in India but is yet to hit China and may never do.

Related: HMD Reveals Its Nokia Android Phones Will Get Lumia Camera UI Features

We can’t rule out the possibility of HMD using the new models to test the waters in various market and may introduce them in due course. In that case, it is possible that the Nokia 7 will be launched in India later on but that won’t be anytime soon.

Its press images and specifications have also been leaked through multiple sources in the recent past. However, the HMD Global has not confirmed on when it will be unveiling the Nokia 2 phone. The key specs of a Nokia phone with model number TA-1035 have also appeared on AnTuTu benchmarking site. The low-end specs of the TA-1035 indicates that it could be the Nokia 2 phone.

According to AnTuTu listing, the Nokia TA-1035 is preinstalled with Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The Snapdragon 212 chipset that features Adreno 304 powers the handset. The SoC is supported by 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage. For photography, it has 8-megapixel rear camera and a frontal shooter of 5-megapixel.

The screen carries support for HD resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. However, the exact size of the display has not been revealed through AnTuTu listing. It is speculated that it may feature 4.5-inch or 4.7-inch display as the Nokia 3 phone houses a 5-inch HD display.

Previous reports have revealed that the Nokia 2 would be housing a 4,000mAh battery. Its listing on B&H had revealed that the Nokia 2 would be priced at $99. Some reports have claimed that there will be another Nokia 2 variant driven by MediaTek chipset will be also made available.

At its launch event, HMD Global did not reveal any information on releasing it outside of China. The Finnish firm has confirmed that it will be holding a launch event on Oct. 31 in India. Even though there is no official confirmation on it, it appears that the company may debut the Nokia 7 phone in India. There is a possibility that the company may unveil the Nokia 2 entry-level phone.

The launch invitation states that it will be unveiling “the next milestone for Nokia phones.” However, as it can be seen in the above image, there is no information available on the device that will be showcased on Oct. 31. Apart from the Nokia 8, the company has unveiled a couple of budget-friendly phones like Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. However, these devices were never dubbed as major milestones which gives us a hint that the new phone that the company could be unveiling the better specced Nokia 7 in India.

The Nokia 7 features a 5.2-inch LCD display that produces a Full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. The Snapdragon 630 chipset powers the 4 GB and 6 GB RAM models of the smartphone. It has an internal storage of 64 GB and it also includes a microSD card storage slot.

Do watch out for a comprehensive review of Nokia’s latest mid-range smartphone by Linus here on Gizmochina. Before that happens, we may as well make do with these photos which capture the device from all angles, including the packaging and the entire content in the box.

The Nokia 7 comes enclosed in a colourful and attractive packaging box. At the back of the packaging, the features of the device are printed there. Inside the box, you’ll find all the usual stuff that accompanies a new smartphone. There is the phone itself, a silicone protective cover, a charging adapter, SIM tray ejector and a USB-C cable.

This time around, we get a much closer look at the Nokia 7 and the device seems to look more beautiful than we thought. It features a glass body laced with a 7000-series aluminium frame and that gives it a premium look. The rear glass panel is a vacuum moulded 3D Gorilla Glass 3 panel. The device isn’t in anyway a rugged smartphone so don’t go thinking it won’t shatter. It isn’t shatterproof, neither is the device waterproof. It comes with an IP54 rating which is nothing more than a splash-proof body.

Apart from the Gloss Black variant on display here, the Nokia 7 is also available in a Matte White colour variant. Generally, the mid-range model sports a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD resolution and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Perhaps, the major new feature onboard the phone is the 16MP ZEISS lens at the rear with a f/1.8 aperture. The camera setup has a slight bump from the body of the phone and is located in the middle with the LED flash underneath it. By the way, we’ve seen some of the Nokia 7’s camera samples and even though it didn’t perform badly, they are nowhere near being spectacular. There is also a 5MP selfie shooter onboard.

In other specs, the device is powered by a Snapdragon 630 processor backed by 4GB of RAM on some models and 6GB RAM on others. There is 64GB of expandable storage on board. It gets its juice from a generous 3,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging. The device comes with a USB Type-C port. There is also a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The Nokia 7 does not come with the paraphernalia of a flagship device but fall in the mid-range category just like the Nokia 6 but as we have seen in this new era where HMD Global call the shot at Nokia, the build is of a premium flagship quality.

The Nokia 7 hands-on photos, as well as camera sample, were spotted in the wild a few hours after it was officially launched. It is just apt that we deliver to it to you as fresh as it comes here on Gizmmochina. The Nokia 7 features a glass body laced with a 7000-series aluminium frame. The rear glass panel is a vacuum molded 3D Gorilla Glass 3. The device comes with IP54 rating which is nothing more than a splash-proof body. Also, the Nokia 7 comes in Gloss Black and Matte White and both colour variants are captured in the unboxing photo gallery.

You get a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD resolution which should offer a clear display view even outdoors. The front display is also covered with a Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Perhaps, the most spectacular feature should be the 16MP ZEISS lens with a f/1.8 aperture. The camera samples also featured in the photo gallery below also shows how the new camera lens fare. No doubt, it can capture photos with vivid clarity during daytime but how it would fare at night remains to be seen. The camera doesn’t perform badly for a mid-range phone but we have seen better shots from mid-budget models like the Meizu M6 Note. That is just my opinion by the way.

The Nokia 7 also comes with a 5MP selfie sensor with f/2.0 aperture and an 84-degree FOV. The device is powered by a SNapdragon 630 processor backed by 4GB of RAM on some models and 6GB RAM on others. There is 64GB of expandable storage on board. There is also a 3,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging and that port onboard is a Type-C port. The Nokia 7 also comes with OZO audio technology which enables it to record 360-degree immersive sound. There is also a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and other features. The device will be hitting shelves in China first on October 24 and the 4GB RAM version carries a price tag of 2,499 Yuan (~$377) while the 6 GB RAM variant costs 2,699 Yuan (~$407). Meanwhile, check out the camera samples and Nokia 7’s hands on photos below.

Some rumors speculate that a new Nokia 8 variant featuring 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage will be launched tomorrow and some other sources claim that a mid-range Nokia 7 may get be announced. A sketched image of the Nokia 7 with a ZEISS branded camera module has appeared which resembles with the camera module seen on one of the teasers of the upcoming phone.

The rear camera system of the Nokia 7 that can be seen in the above sketched image features a ZEISS brand name between the camera sensor and its LED flash. The design of the camera system resembles with the following teaser image. This is one of the reasons why the Nokia 7 is speculated to get unleashed tomorrow.

The sketched image shows that it sports a simple design like the Nokia 8. It appears that the handset features capacitive buttons below the screen. Rumors have it that it may feature a 5.2-inch full HD display and the Snapdragon 630 chipset may be present under its hood. As far as the design of the Nokia 7 is concerned, it may feature a metallic frame along with glass or polycarbonate chassis.

In the previous month, two new Nokia phones with model numbers TA-1041 and TA-1042 had received approval in China. Teasers of the upcoming Nokia phone have suggested that it would be coming with OZO audio and Bothie dual-sight camera features. Another teaser has “qi” mentioned which refers to number 7 in Chinese. Hence, it is speculated that the Finnish firm may announce the Nokia 7 tomorrow.

The arrival of the Nokia 2 entry-level phone also seems to be close at hand as it has already received FCC certification. However, the company may not hold an exclusive launch event to debut its entry-level phone. There is a possibility that Nokia 7 and Nokia 2 may get unveiled together tomorrow. However, there are contradictory reports that claim Nokia 9, Nokia 7 and Nokia 2 will be unveiled at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 next year.

According to the invitation, the smartphone that will be unveiled on Thursday will be available for buying exclusively through Tmall. The new smartphone will support dual-sight Bothie feature. Also, the shadow of the OZO camera can be seen in accompanying images.

HMD Global had launched Nokia 8 smartphone first in China. However, the country did not receive the enhanced variants of Nokia 8 that have been made available in other markets. Hence, speculations are rife that HMD Global may introduce Nokia 8 with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage that has been released in the select regions of Europe but not yet available in China.

The animated GIF present on the official TMall store teases a phone with Bothie feature on its screen. The design of the smartphone suggests that the mysterious device does not feature slim bezels like the Nokia 8. The same GIF carries “qi” which refers to number 7 in Chinese. Hence, the rumor mill may announce the Nokia 7 phone. Interestingly, two new HMD Global smartphones with model numbers TA-1041 and TA-1042 had received 3C approval in China. Like the Nokia 8, the alleged Nokia 7 may come with features like Bothie and OZO audio.

Rumors have it that the Finnish company is working on new smartphones like Nokia 2, Nokia 7 and Nokia 9. Recent reports have claimed that the Nokia 2 and Nokia 9 may debut in the last quarter of 2018. However, new information claims that the company may unleash new phones in early 2018.

Nokia 2 is speculated as an entry-level phone whereas the Nokia 9 is rumored to arrive with flagship specs. The specifications of both the smartphones have been leaked by the rumor mill. However, the company is now speculated to be working on a mid-range phone called Nokia 7. An individual who is an alleged employee of a BPO company that carries out logistics for HMD Global claims that new Nokia phones will not be launching this year.

The individual claims that the Nokia 2, Nokia 7 and Nokia 9 would be arriving as second batch of Android smartphones that will be unveiled in early 2018. The person has spilled this information on Facebook and to prove that he is associated with HMD Global, he has even uploaded an image of a lanyard from the company in the post that reveals the launch time of new Nokia phones.

It appears that the person is not afraid of revealing leaked information on upcoming Nokia phones directly on a group conversation on Facebook. However, there is no way to confirm whether the information shared by the employee is true or false.

The Finnish firm has just recently announced the Nokia 8 flagship phone and it is not even available in many markets. Announcing Nokia 9 flagship in this year can disturb the sales of Nokia 8.

HMD Global had resurrected the Nokia brand by introducing new phones at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 event this year. Hence, it is speculated that the Nokia 2, Nokia 7 and Nokia 9 may get unveiled at MWC 2018.

There is no information available on the specs of Nokia 7. The Nokia 2 is pegged to arrive with 5-inch HD display, Snapdragon 212 chipset, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage and 4,000mAh battery. The Nokia 9 is speculated to arrive with bezel-less and curved edge-to-edge deign. The Snapdragon 835 powered flagship is speculated to come with dual rear cameras. It may come in 6 GB or 8 GB RAM models.

In January, a leaked slide had revealed that Nokia would be launching six to seven smartphones this year. A Chinese leakster who holds a consistent track record about many leaks related to Nokia in the past has revealed that Nokia will be releasing 7 smartphones this year. Not only this, he has mentioned the list of 7 Nokia smartphones for 2017 along with the processor that will be powering each one of them.

The Nokia 6 that was unveiled first is powered by Snapdragon 430. Currently, it is selling well in the U.S. The Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 that were unveiled at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017. These phones are respectively powered by MediaTek MT6737 and Snapdragon 430. The remaining four smartphones that are slated to launch in the second half of 2017 are Nokia 2, Nokia 7, Nokia 8 and Nokia 9.

According to the Chinese leakster, Nokia 2 will be available in Snapdragon 212 and a MediaTek processor. It indicates that Nokia 2 will be an entry-level smartphone. Some of the regions will be receiving its Snapdragon edition whereas other regions will be getting its low-end MediaTek processor version.

The Nokia 7 will be driven by Snapdragon 630 chipset and the Nokia 8 would be a more powerful smartphone as the Snapdragon 660 chip will be giving power to it. Previous leaks have revealed that the Nokia 7 would be coming with a single rear camera but the Nokia 8 would be equipped with a dual rear camera system from Zeiss.

An unknown Nokia phone with that had appeared on AnTuTu with Snapdragon 660 could be the Nokia 8 smartphone. The AnTuTu listing revealed that it would be equipped with a 2K screen, 6 GB of RAM, a native storage of 64 GB, a pair 12-megapxiel rear camera sensors and Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The Nokia 7 may feature a full HD display.

The leakster has revealed that the Nokia 9 is powered by Snapdragon 835 which suggests that it is indeed the much-awaited flagship phone from the Finnish brand. Nokia 9 is expected to come with a 5.3-inch QHD display, 13-megapixel dual rear cameras, and 8 GB RAM and it is expected to be launch with a price tag of $699.

Nokia has confirmed that it won’t be releasing any Nokia Android tablets this year. Also, there won’t be any Nokia 4 smartphone as the number 4 is a bad omen in various countries. The Nokia 9, Nokia 8, Nokia 7 and Nokia are expected to debut at IFA 2017.

These phones do mark the relaunch of the brand, but these phones may not interest all the kinds of buyers. Still, these phones have met with positive reception because of which HMD Global is encountering issues in supplying sufficient stock to various global retailers and carriers. The Finnish firm is expected to introduce second batch of phones soon. In an interview with Finnish publication, HMD Global’s Marketing Director, Pekka Rantala has revealed the company’s future plans.

Rantala has said that Nokia has no plans to release Android tablets. This piece of information may disappoint Nokia fans who are eagerly waiting for Nokia Android tablet as the Nokia N1 tablet from 2014 was well-received in China, the only country where it was sold. Rantala added that the company mainly focused on the production of smartphones and it won’t be releasing a tablet in 2017.

He also revealed that apart from smartphones, the company would be launching Nokia branded accessories. When asked about the rumored Nokia 9, there was no proper answer on the upcoming flagship phone from the company. However, he gave a hint by saying that it is logical from the company to use Nokia 7, Nokia 8 or Nokia 2 names as it has launched phones with names like Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. However, Nokia won’t be releasing a device with Nokia 4 moniker because the number 4 is considered bad omen in China and some Asian countries.

The Nokia 9 is rumored to come with a 5.3-inch QHD display and it is expected to be driven by Snapdragon 835 chipset. It is rumored to come in RAM variants like 6 GB and 8 GB. Several leaked photos of the Nokia 9 have already appeared along with its specifications. Speculations are rife that the Nokia 9 would be unveiling in Q3 this year with a price tag of $699.

The rumor mill has also predicted that Nokia 7 and Nokia 8 are the other phones from the Finnish firm that will be unveiled soon. Also, the company is also expected to announce new feature phones as they have already appeared on TENAA, China’s telecom regulatory body.

According to Mehta, ”We should launch our next set of phones by the end of Q2 this year.”

In an interview to the Times of India, Mehta has said that Nokia wants to make its phones available in various price points to different kinds of customers by the coming year. The company wants to offer its loyal fans with services like exchanging of old phones as well as credit facilities. To make the Nokia phones available to its customers, the Finnish company will be relying on its 400 distributors and 80,000 retailing partners. It will be also selling the phones through its online store.

The upcoming Nokia phones that are now poised to launch by the end of second quarter of 2017 will include both smartphones and feature phones. Mehta added that feature phones comprise 55 percent of the cell phone market and 11-12 million feature phones are sold in each month. Since there is so much demand for feature phones, Nokia will also continue to sell feature phones.

Previous rumors have revealed that Nokia will be releasing around 6 to 7 Android phones this year. Rumors are now hinting that the Finnish company may be working on Snapdragon 660 chipset driven Nokia 7 and Nokia 8 smartphones. Moreover, other speculations hint that Nokia 9 could be the Snapdragon 835 chipset driven flagship that Nokia fans are waiting for. Recent news suggest that Nokia 9 could get unveiled in Q3 this year with a pricing of $699.

A popular Nokia leakster from China has posted leaked images on Baidu that reveal the design of the rumored Nokia 7 and Nokia 8 phones.

The leaked sketch shows two Nokia devices. The one present on the left seems to feature dual rear camera module with “Zeiss’ text mentioned on it. It may be the Nokia 8 phone whereas the other one on the right may be its single camera variant that may arrive as Nokia 7.

Related: HMD to Release Nokia Phones in Second Half of Q2

The following image seems to show the front and rear of the same handset that is present on the right-side in the previous image. The rear design of these phones look different from Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. However, the front side of the Nokia phone in above sketch bears resemblance to Nokia 6 with similar design for the Home button. The bezels do not appear to be very thin. Hence, it may not be a flagship phone.

Recently, AnTuTu scores of an unknown device running on Snapdragon 660 chipset benchmarks was spotted. The mysterious device was spotted with specs like 2K display, 6 GB of RAM, 64 GB internal storage, 12-megapixel dual rear camera and Android 7.1.1 Nougat. There is no confirmation whether the unknown device is the alleged Nokia 8 phone that is speculated to feature Carl Zeiss dual rear cameras.

As previous leaks of Nokia 7 and 8 have revealed, the former may feature a full HD screen whereas the latter may house a larger screen. The Nokia 8 may come out as the first Nokia phone with support for quad HD resolution. Both phones are rumored to come with metallic chassis and similar specs.

In the next month, it introduced Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and the updated Nokia 3310. However, the fans of the Finnish company are eagerly waiting to see a flagship smartphone. It seems that Nokia fans will have to wait a bit more as it is now rumored to be working on two new upper midrange smartphones that are labeled as Nokia 7 and Nokia 8. However, the source of the rumor has stated that these phones may release with different retail names.

The alleged Nokia 7 and Nokia 8 would be fueled by Snapdragon 660 chipset. One of them may come with a full HD display whereas the other Nokia phone may roll out as its first smartphone with quad HD display. The Nokia phone with full HD display may come with a smaller screen compared to the other phone.

Both phones will be sporting slimmer bezels and metal unibody design. Also, both will have different designs for their rear cameras. Nokia 8 may arrive with a Carl-Zeiss optics camera. Both smartphones are expected to house bigger sensors for their rear cameras. Other common features of these smartphones include fingerprint readers and fast charging.

Rumors have it that HMD Global would be releasing 6 to 7 Android smartphones this year. The three Nokia smartphones that it has announced so far do not feature powerful specs. However, the alleged Nokia 7 and Nokia 8 are expected to deliver stellar performances as they are driven by the new Snapdragon 660 SoC (leaked AnTuTu benchmark here) which is an upgraded version of Snapdragon 652 and Snapdragon 653 chipsets.

The Snapdragon 660 SoC was recently spotted on AnTuTu benchmarking platform with impressive scores like 105576 and 105584. The upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 are expected to feature this new SoC. OPPO and Vivo are also rumored to release Snapdragon 660 powered smartphones in the near future. Now that the Finnish firm has been found working on upper midrange phones, it seems that all its smartphones will aimed towards customers with different price points.
