OPPO Advert Reveals the upcoming OPPO R7 Plus in Full Glory

Just yesterday, we saw the first glimpse of the upcoming OPPO R7 Plus handset. Today, in an advert the company has revealed the device in full glory, once again confirming the rear fingerprint sensor.

R7 Plus 08

The images reveal that the OPPO R7 Plus will be much bigger than the R7 model, but the overall design remains the same. So, the phone should come with 2.5D glass just like the R7. You can even see the front of the device in this advert, which shows that the R7 Plus will have a good screen to body ratio. Of course, its noway near the super slim (in fact almost non-existent) bezel design of the Nubia Z9, still the phone looks quite good.

R7 Plus 01

The advert also confirms the presence of VOOC fast charge technology on the device, which isn’t surprising given that most top-end OPPO devices usually come with this feature. The all metal design on both the handsets gives it a premium feel and it looks like both the phones are going to bring some exciting specs and features. OPPO has always priced its products a bit higher than competitors, but given the immense growth and competition in the Chinese smartphone market, it would be interesting to see the pricing of both the handsets.

The OPPO R7 and the OPPO R7 Plus are expected to be unveiled on May 20, which is just 10 days away. So, stay tuned for more information.

Meanwhile, check out the rest of the images from the advert down below. Or hit the link just below to view the Advert Video.

Elephone P6000 CM12 WIP

p6000 cm12-2
This amazing news for P6000 users has so far gone pretty much under the radar, the guts over on the Elephone forum have been working on a custom CM12 rom based on Android Lollipop 5.1 and the results so far are looking promising.

p6000 cm12

Pretty much everything is working as it should including the camera which has had issues on stock roms.

So far the only bugs listed are FM, Bluetooth, and 4G not working.

If you can make do with 3g calling whilst they work on getting 4G sorted and don’t need bluetooth, then this could be used as a daily driver (if you are a bit adventurous and can handle the odd FC or two!).

Check out the video below to see it in action and then head on over to the Elephone forum to get the D/L link and start enjoying the CM12 goodness on your P6000.

Rumors: Meizu May Unveil MX5 and Meizu M1 Note 2 Next Month

Meizu has been relatively quite about its flagship range of smartphones this year. The only major launch that we saw was of the Meizu M1, which was targeted at the budget market. However, we have finally received about another mid-range smartphone from the company, namely the Meizu M1 Note FHD edition.

meizu blue charm note 2 FHD

Chinese Media reports that Meizu is planning to unveil a new variant of the Meizu M1 Note in June this year. While this would be a bit early for the next generation model of the original M1 Note, it is said that this could be the top-end model in the M1 Note lineup. The phone will reportedly come with a fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button, much like the MX4 Pro. So, it looks like this model would be placed a bit higher than the regular one with a slight upgrade in specs.

The same report also states that after the June 2 conference for the M1 Note 2 FHD edition, the company will have another event on June 30 where it will unveil the successor to the Meizu MX4, i.e. the Meizu MX5. The phone is said to come with a unibody design (hence non-removable battery) along with MT6797 processor under the hood and an oval shaped fingerprint sensor. The power and volume buttons are said to be on the right side while the SIM card slots on the left.

So, it looks like June will be an exciting month for Meizu fans. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks.

Huawei Made Nexus To Feature Samsung’s 5.7-inch 2K OLED according to Analyst

Since the start of the year, we have heard from multiple sources that Huawei is going to release a new Nexus flagship this year, alongside Google’s two year old partner, LG. Now, an analysts from China has revealed some specs of the upcoming Nexus device from Huawei.

huawei nexus phone7

Pan Jiutang revealed earlier today that Huawei’s Nexus device will feature a Samsung Made 5.7-inch OLED display with 2K screen resolution. Under the hood, the phone will sport the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. This is a bit surprising given that we expected Huawei to incorporate its own SoC inside a new Nexus device. But given that the company’s SoCs have yet to prove itself, Google probably insisted Huawei to use Qualcomm’s best chipset.

huawei nexus

Another surprise is the presence of the 2K display, which although will be fine with a powerful chipset like Snapdragon 810, it may take a toll on the battery life. Also, Huawei’s executive had earlier said that 2K displays didn’t make sense on a compact phone since even 1080p is sharp enough for the naked eye. At that time, it looked like the company may not be interested in a 2K display phone, but this analyst states otherwise.

However, Pan Jiutang further added that Google must have had the say in the specs on the Huawei made Nexus device, which is why the phone will most likely feature a 2K screen.

Anyways, we haven’t heard much from either Google or Huawei about a Nexus device officially, but if this is indeed true, we expect a lot more information in the coming months.

Two OPPO R7 Plus Models Spotted On Radio Regulatory Authority of China

A few weeks back, we saw two variants of the upcoming OPPO R7 flagship, namely the OPPO R7C and the OPPO R7T. After that we have seen a couple of instances which hinted that the company may have another smartphone in the works, namely the OPPO R7 Plus. Now, it looks like two variants of the R7 Plus has hit the State Radio Regulatory Authority of China, confirming its existence.

OPPO R7 Plus listing

The two models listed on the site are the OPPO R7Kc and the OPPO R7Kt. Like the R7 variants, these two devices seem to differ mainly in terms of the connectivity support. The R7Kc is said to support GSM/ CDMA networks with dual 4G (most likely for China Telecom carrier) while the R7Kt supports GSM/ TD-CDMA networks with dual 4G, headed mostly for China Mobile carrier.

oppo-r7-plus-pics-leaked-01

Unlike earlier reports which said that the OPPO R7 will feature high-end tech and specs, it looks like the R7 Plus will probably be the top-end model. Recent leaks have shown that the phone may feature a logo at the bottom of the display, which hints at on screen buttons.

Unfortunately, the specifications of the device is still not very clear, but we hope to hear more in the coming days. Meanwhile, it is said that the OPPO R7 and the OPPO R7 Plus will be launching on May 20. So, stay tuned for more information.

MSTAR S100 brings 64-bit quad-core MT6732 and 5.5-inch HD display at just $120

MSTAR is a relatively new brand. Its a subsidiary of LIHUA International Group Limited. We had earlier seen a new smartphone from the company, the MSTAR S700 and looks like they have something for the budget customers too. The company has recently unveiled the MSTAR S100 and the device is already available for purchase via Geekbuying for just $120.99.

MSTAR S100 MT6732

At this price tag, the smartphone offers a lot of good features. It comes with the 64-bit 1.5GHz MT6732 quad-core processor which reportedly performs better than the Snapdragon 410. Along with this chip, the phone features 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM (5.6GB Available) which should be enough for your basic needs.

MSTAR S100 FRONT CAMERA

Apart from the MT6732 chip, the 5.5-inch HD display on the MSTAR S100 makes the device stand out from the crowd. It offers a good chip in a large sized display, ideal for phablet lovers.

MSTAR S100 REAR CAMERA

In fact, if we directly compare the MSTAR S100 with the Xiaomi Redmi Note, we see that both the phones should have similar specs. The Redmi Note features a 5.5-inch HD display and Snapdragon 410 chip, which should be at par with the MSTAR S100. One area, where the S100 lacks is the RAM, which is just 1GB instead of 2GB on the Redmi Note, however, at this price, you can’t really complain. Also, even with 1GB on board, the performance should be satisfactory. On the other hand, the Redmi Note retails for anywhere between $180-$200.

msar s100

The MSTAR S100 comes with an 8MP Auto Focus rear camera with True LED Flash and a 5MP front facing shooter with Face Beauty Mode. It supports dual SIM dual standby and comes with wide support for 4G LTE bands (4G: FDD-LTE 800/1800/2100/2600MHz). Finally, a 2800mAh battery makes sure that the phone lasts for at least a day long.

Overall, the MSTAR S100 turns out to be a great offering for its $120 price tag. You even get to choose between four different colored back covers to suit your need.

Xiaomi’s Product Roadmap for 2015 leaked, reveals four new devices including Xiaomi Mi5

Xiaomi has been busy this year, with new product lineups and partnerships. Just yesterday, the company officially released the top-end Xiaomi Mi Note Pro flagship. However, the company had already revealed the device back in January, which meant that the Mi Note Pro launch was not exactly a new release.

But it looks like the company has four new handsets for release in the second half of 2015. A leaked product roadmap reveals some of the specs as well as release schedule of the four handsets.

xiaomi leaked product roadmap

The Xiaomi Mi5 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 launches were expected later this year. But what comes as a surprise is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro and the Xiaomi Mi4S launches. Yes, it looks like the company will first release the Mi4S in June and then, later launch the Mi5 in November.

Xiaomi-Mi4S-leak poster

The leak also shows off some of the specs of the device. So, the Xiaomi Mi4S which will launch in June is expected to come with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 MSM8994 processor with a 5-inch full HD 1080p display, 13MP OIS camera and a 4MP Ultrapixel front facing camera.

A month later, i.e. in July, the company will reportedly launch the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro versions. The Redmi Note 2 Pro will feature a full HD 5.5-inch display with MSM8939 processor (snapdragon 615). On the other hand, the regular Redmi Note 2 version will feature a 5.5-inch HD display just like the current generation Redmi Note and MSM8919 (Snapdragon 410 chipset). Both will feature 13MP and 5MP camera units on the rear and the front respectively.

As for the Xiaomi Mi5, the phone is expected to debut in November this year with the new Snapdragon 820 chipset. It is said the the Mi5 will feature a 5.2-inch display with WQHD display and a 20.2MP rear camera.

While this news will definitely excite a lot of Xiaomi fans around the world, remember that the leak comes via Weibo and we are not sure whether its 100% true. So, like always, we advise you to take this news with a pinch of salt.

It is also worth noting that above the Xiaomi leak, you can also see the product roadmap for Huawei’s smartphones including Ascend D8, Mate 8 and the Honor 7 which was leaked a few days before.

OnePlus Two With Snapdragon 810 could be priced around 2499 Yuan according to CEO

The Chinese smartphone market have come to a whole new level this year, with companies like Nubia, Vivo and Xiaomi proving that they can make top-end smartphones at an affordable price tag. With all these companies making a buzz in the market, yesterday, OnePlus CEO Liu Zuohu asked his fans the reasonable price for a Snapdragon 810 powered OnePlus device.

oneplus two concept
oneplus two concept

Despite the criticisms about the Snapdragon 810 chipset, most renowned manufacturers have decided to go with this top-end Qualcomm chipset and its likely that the coming generation of Oneplus, i.e. the OnePlus Two may also feature this processor. So, when Liu asked to his fans, “If OnePlus Two comes with Snapdragon 810, what do you think will be the price?”, many responded with different figures.

oneplus two price estimate

However, it looks like the some managed to give out a reasonable figure. A few hours back, Liu posted on his Weibo that 2499 Yuan seems to be a reasonable price. So, it looks like the upcoming OnePlus Two smartphone could be priced around 2499 Yuan.

OnePlus has always been popular for its value for money handsets and despite many claims that the upcoming flagship may turn out to be a bit costly, it looks like the company will try to keep the price affordable.

According to earlier reports, the OnePlus Two will debut in the third quarter of 2015 with Snapdragon 810, 4GB RAM and a 5.5-inch 2K screen. Its even said that the phone will feature a fingerprint sensor, but the company is yet to confirm its specs.

Anyways, stay tuned for more information in the coming months.

So, its almost impossible to crack the code by a third party.

The company managed to create thousands of fans within a short span of time with its Ulefone Be Pro smartphone. Now, its all set to attract the attention of the tech savvy crowd with the brand new Ulefone Be Touch.

Qihoo 360 and Coolpad release a new smartphone brand, QiKU

Earlier today, Qihoo 360 and Coolpad jointly announced a new venture, a brand new smartphone company called as QiKU. We have been hearing a lot about this new brand name, and earlier leak even said that the brand will be named as WuKong. But it looks like the company has decided to go with a name that shows the presence of both the companies, Qihoo 360 as well as Coolpad.

image

Qihoo 360 Chairman and CEO, Mr. Zhou said that QiKU will unveil three new smartphones in the market. However, he failed to give us any specific details regarding the possible configuration of these devices. He did say that users will be able to uninstall all the apps that comes with the device. So, it looks like the anti-virus apps and other security apps from Qihoo 360 can be removed from the device.

As for the pricing, QiKU phones were rumored to retail for more than 5000 Yuan. However, Mr. Zhou dismisses those claims and says that the phone will be launched almost at hardware/ production cost. The company will focus on internet channels to market and sell the device to reduce overheads.

Qihoo 360 and Coolpad announced its joint venture to enter the smart phone industry back in December last year. In this regard, Qihoo 360 has a 45% stake in the company, and the other 55% of the shares are held by Coolpad.

Gionee Elife E8 hits TENAA, confirms 23MP Camera and fingerprint sensor

Gionee Elife S7 was released way back in 2013, which means the company has not released a successor in more than a year. We have been hearing a lot about the upcoming flagship, the Gionee Elife E8 lately, which will succeed the S7 and the device has just hit TENAA revealing most of the specs of the device.
image

The Gionee Elife E8 is clearly targeted to compete with the Huawei Ascend Mate 7, sporting a massive 6-inch display with 2K resolution. The listing further adds that the display will use an AMOLED panel. The processor under the hood will be an octa-core chip clocked at 2GHz (most likely Snapdragon 810). image

image

The phone will run on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with Gionee’s own Amigo OS 3.0. It will also feature a rear facing fingerprint sensor much like the Mate 7.
