Xiaomi and Ninebot had an important press conference a few hours ago. In the press event, the company revealed that Ninebot, the Chinese two wheeled electric vehicle maker has fully acquired Segway PT, its famous competitor in US. Segway’s two wheeled electric personal vehicle are quite popular all around the world. So, this makes an important acquisition for the Chinese company Ninebot.
However, Ninebot had some help from Xiaomi. The company reportedly invested around $80 million in Ninebot recently, which could have helped the purchase. However, how much of that money went into the purchase has not yet been revealed. This acquisition also provides both the companies with international patents and IP rights to release and market its products worldwide. Interestingly, the company had accused Ninebot of IP rights infringement a few months back.
With this additional patents, Ninebot can even start charge patents to similar product manufacturers in China. However, the company revealed nothing about its own or Segway’s future plans at the event.
Industry sources say that since this is a full acquisition of Segway, Ninebot could have paid as much as $1 Billion USD for the deal. But, there’s still no official word on the details of the deal.
Fans finally have something to be excited about, as the latest report from Bloomberg states that OnePlus could unveil not one but two new smartphones later this year. This contradicts previous reports which said that the OnePlus Two flagship could be potentially delayed to 2016.
According to the report, OnePlus Two along with a budget friendly smartphone will be unveiled by the company around Q3 2014. Earlier, OnePlus CEO had hinted that the new flagship could see the light of the day by September and looks like this report supports this time frame.
However, this is the first time we are hearing about a cheaper One Plus device as all previous rumors suggested otherwise. In the early days of 2015, rumors said that the company could be focusing on a premium smartphone for launch alongside the OnePlus Two. But this report states otherwise.
Also, OnePlus Two is said to bring a lot of new upgrades such as a 5.5-inch 2K display, Snapdragon 810 and 4GB RAM. However, with such hardware, its practically impossible to maintain the $380 price tag. So, the company may have to increase its base price this year.
Anyways, we are sure fans must be excited to hear that they will see two OnePlus smartphones this year, that too one within the reach of budget buyers. Given that the report is said to come from the OnePlus office, it may actually turn out to be true.
If this is the case, expect a lot more information about the two new handsets, pretty soon.
So, what do you think, will the new flagship be as successful as the OnePlus One?
Ever since Coolpad announced its Coolpad Dazen X7 flagship, we haven’t heard much from the company. However, we have finally some news about the new company flagship, thanks to TENAA which has revealed a new Coolpad device.
At the start of April, a new Coolpad device called as Coolpad S6-NC1 hit TENAA revealing the design and the specs of the device. It is said that the phone will support all the three major carries in China, thanks to its full connectivity support. This includes GSM, CDMA, TD-SCDMA, TD-LTE, LTE FDD, WCDMAsupport along with dual SIM dual standby. So, all major 4G, 3G and 2G networks are supported by this device.
As for the design, the Coolpad Dazen X7 was one of the better looking phones out there in the market and the new S6-NC1 continues with that tradition. The Coolpad S6-NC1 features a double glass design, probably Gorilla Glass 3 along with a metal frame around the body, which gives it a premium look. This hints that the phone may be targeted at the upper mid-range / high-end market.
The company has made sure that the phone will please the slim phone lovers. The new Coolpad device measures just 5.5mm in thickness, which is extremely thin and weighs just 138 grams.
As for the tech specs, the Coolpad S6-NC1 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core 64-bit processor with 2GB RAM on board. There will be 16GB of storage which can be further expanded using a micro-SD card slot. At the front, you have a large 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display from Samsung.
The company has included a 13MP rear camera with LED flash along with a powerful 8MP front shooter which should be ideal for selfie lovers. Interestingly, despite super thin design profile, the phone comes with a 2700mAh battery on board. Finally, it runs on an older Android 4.4 KitKat version.
Judging from the design and the tech specs, it looks like the phone will be targeted at the upper mid-range market. Pricing has not yet been revealed but expect it to be much higher than 2000 Yuan.
First it was smartphones, then came tablets and now, its the era of the smartwatches. Everyone wants a piece of this ever growing industry, which includes local Chinese manufacturers. So, its no surprise to see that No.1, a brand known for its affordable yet powerful knock offs is interested in a new smartwatch.
The company already has a wearable in the market, which was quite popular among buyers called the No.1 G2. And this time, its all set to release a new smartwatch, the No.1 Sun. Yes, the watch will be named as the ‘Sun’ which reveals that it will have a circular display.
Almost everyone will agree that circular smartwatches look much better than square ones and this Chinese manufacturer has decided to take advantage of this fact. From the images, it looks like the No.1 Sun will have a fresh circular design with a metallic body. The renders are in gold, but I am sure there will be other colors available.
Apart from the round looks, the watch does have some nifty features. It comes with a heart rate monitor, pedometer and an independent music player which can be connected directly to bluetooth headphones. It has built-in Infrared Remote which can control your TV, setup-box and many other electronic gadgets at your home with ease. You also get a 1.3MP camera on the side to capture decent photos.
No.1 also adds that its first round smartwatch can make calls, and check text messages. However, it does not support SIM cards. Its also waterproof, so you don’t have to worry about ruining your watch with a few splashes of water. The watch runs on MT6260 processor optimized for wearables and comes with a decent 350mAh battery.
LeTV just unveiled three new smartphones in its One lineup and all the three models cater to a different set of users. While the LeTV One features a compact 5-inch display, the One Pro and the One Max cater to the customers who would like something bigger.
The LeTV One Pro comes with a 5.5-inch display which has become the standard among flagships and the One Max comes with an even bigger 6-inch display. Both the large screen models feature 2K resolution screen which should deliver crystal clear image quality and a color gamut of over 85%.
The mid-range One is made out of plastic, however the top end models are made entirely out of metal which gives it a premium look. The One Pro looks similar to the HTC One series phones while the One Max looks a lot similar to Huawei’s Mate 7 flagship. These two were one of the best looking phones of last year, so its not surprising that they look so good.
The One Max and the One Pro boasts of a beautiful bezelless display. Although we are hearing rumors about bezelless phones from all major manufacturer these days, LeTV is one of the first established ones to release such a remarkable lineup in the market.

Ever since Huawei confirmed that it was going to announce the Huawei P8 flagship on April 15, leaks have started to come in pretty fast. A new leak now shows off a poster / advert for the new Huawei P8, thereby kind of confirming its design.
The design shown in the picture looks a lot like the one we saw from TENAA a few days back. The Chinese certification website had confirmed earlier that the phone will be using a metallic body measuring just 6.5mm. This was slimmer than the iPhone 6 / 6 Plus. So, the P8 will definitely please those who are looking for a super slim device.
As for the tech specs, TENAA reveals that the Huawei P8 flagship will feature a 2.2GHz octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. The display up front will of 5.2-inches with full HD 1080p resolution. The rear camera will be of 13MP with color temperature flash and the one above the display will be of 5MP. The phone will naturally support a number of 4G LTE bands and will run on the new Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.
The advert reveals that the phone will come in four different colors including gold, silver and black. Pricing is not yet revealed but an earlier leak said that the phone could start at 2988 Yuan (which comes to around $486). There are two versions of the device expected to be unveiled tomorrow in UK, a standard Huawei P8 and the Huawei P8 platinum edition.
Since, the advert does not say anything about a fingerprint sensor, we may not see this feature on the upcoming flagship. However, the poster does confirm a metallic build, High definition sound and some great camera features on the device.
A new leak reveals the three new smartphones that will be announced by the Chinese media giant, LeTV. This is the first time we are seeing all the three models, together in one picture. Earlier leaks have showed us two smartphones, the LeTV X600 and the LeTV X900, but this one confirms three new devices from the company.
You can see from the picture, that there are three LeTV phones, one with a plastic design and the other two with a metal design. The plastic LeTV model will probably be called as the LeTV One, the other two as the LeTV Pro and the LeTV Max. It is said that the largest LeTV model will have a 6-inch display. From the image, it looks like this LeTV Max model could be lying on the extreme right with a fingerprint sensor at the back. Interestingly, the LeTV Max does look a bit like the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 flagship, especially with that small square fingerprint sensor at the back.
The leak also reveals the possible specs of all the three devices. To make things easier for you, we have summarized them below.
LeTV One
5.5-inch 1080p
MT6795 octa-core 64-bit
3GB RAM + 16GB Internal storage
13MP + 5MP
LeTV One Pro
5.5-inch 2K display
Snapdragon 810 octa-core 64-bit

13MP + Ultrapixel front camera
LeTV One Max

Snapdragon 810 octa-core 64-bit

It looks like we have the final specs of the three models. But since the LeTV event has already started and is going on, its best to wait for a few more minutes to confirm this news.
As soon as everything is official, our LeTV article will be up. So, stay tuned.

The Letv’s eUI 5.0 (Eco User Interface), which is based on the Android 5.0 Lolipop, has been announced. It is said that this UI is the user’s “ecological interaction” with devices and services. It covers music, TV services, smartphone and even your car (probably a smart car). The new EUI puts an emphasis on seamless connectivity on all different devices and thus enhances a seamless user experience.
The EUI is said to be China’s first eco-user interactive system, which is said to improve interactions between people and ecology (not sure yet what that means). It is said that it breaks the boundaries of applications and services. What is more, the EUI is the first full end smartphone operating system, which covers aspects like TV services, smartphone and automobiles.
The eUI 5.0 is said to have a good, but “not too fancy” design, which mainly focuses on the user experience that users can better enjoy the content they are consuming. There were 10,715 improvements to the UI, which included various updates like re-designing icons, which could be easy to identify for the end user.

The EUI is said to have great interaction between many devices that include the smartphone and desktop platforms. It is said that this proprietary UI is “the soul” of the device.
The new user interface is said to be the core of Letv’s products as it creates the whole new ecosystem, which helps connect various devices. It also interpolates hardware and software to assure a seamless and great user experience.

We have been consistently hearing about Meizu entering in a partnership with a well known audio brand for its new range of headphones. Initially, it was said that the company could be working with AKG for its new product. However, earlier today, Meizu revealed that the company is all set to partner up with the German Audio company, Beyerdynamic.
Beyerdynamic released a new image of the Meizu headphones box via their weibo page, where we can clearly see both the company names mentioned on top. Also, this is the same box that was leaked a few days back, however at that time, it didn’t have the beyerdynamic logo.
The box looks quite big, so it is also being said that Meizu will be selling its new headsets along with its smartphones. But, don’t expect it to be cheap. Given that the headphones are going to targeted at audiophiles, it will probably be more than $500. In fact, Meizu also revealed that this limited edition Beyerdynamic + Meizu headphones are going to be the most expensive product from the company till date.
The company is expected to release the headphones on April 15, i.e. tomorrow. We have the Huawei P8 as well as the Xiaomi Electric Vehicle (?) releasing on the same day, so its going to be an exciting two days for all tech fans.
Meanwhile, today, we will see the launch of at least two LeTV smartphones, one expected to be bezelless. So, stay tuned to the website as we update you guys with more information.

When it comes to Chinese smartphones, Elephone is a well known brand in the market. The company has established itself as a quality smartphone maker, offering high-end devices at a very cheap price. We have already seen many great phones from the company in the past few years, however in 2015, Elephone has decided to take things to a whole new level.
Meet Elephone P7000, which aims to best every other smartphone that retails for less than $300. Yes, the specs of the device are so powerful than even flagship phones from well known brands like Xiaomi and Meizu will have a hard time competing with its value for money quotient.
The new Elephone P7000 blends a beautiful design with a powerful hardware. The metal rims and the thin bezels make it one of the best looking phones from the company till date. Almost everything about the phone’s design hints that its aims to compete in the high-end segment.
As for the tech specs, the Elephone P7000 features the powerful MT6752 octa-core 64-bit processor. This is one of the best SoC’s from Mediatek till date, reaching scores well above 40,000 on AnTuTu and we are sure that the P7000 with its 3GB of RAM on board will score much above this figure. For storage, you get 16GB which is enough especially since you can further expand it via MicroSD.
One of the highlights of the device is the 5.5-inch full HD 1080p display. Yes, Elephone has made sure that the pictures and videos on the screen look crisp and clear, thanks to a full HD display. Companies often settle for 720p on its smartphones at this price range, but its good to see that Elephone decided to offer the best display quality for its customers. The phone sports a 16MP camera at the back with LED flash and an 8MP front facing shooter.
Elephone P7000 has speakers located at the bottom, which is another smart move to increase their loudness. The 3200mAh battery is also quite large and capable enough to run the phone throughout the day. To make the phone even more special, Elephone will offer a number of different ROMs specifically made for this phone to its customers. So, you can choose between any of your favorite ones like MIUI, EMUI, CyanogenMod, Flyme etc.
However, the cherry on the cake is without any doubt, the fingerprint touch ID at the back. Yes, the Elephone P7000 features a much improved touch ID sensor just below the camera which can recognize your fingerprint in an instant. And this being a 360 degree identifier, you can unlock your phone via fingerprint ID from any direction!
As you can see, the Elephone P7000 truly turns out to be one of the best smartphone that’s currently available for $200. It looks like Chinese manufacturers are finally taking things to the next level.
The Elephone flagship will be available via all major online retail outlets, most of which are listed here. You can also purchase the device through giztop for 199 Euros.
Vivo is one of those Chinese manufacturers, which really want to call themselves a premium smartphone maker in China and, probably around the world. Is is known for releasing very thin or even the thinnest devices in the world like the recently announced X5Max, devices with Hi-Fi audio features, great cameras etc.
The company has just officially confirmed their one of the new upcoming devices, which is said to be released in the annual conference in May.
The device is not announced yet, but some pictures revealing the device in flesh and blood are already here. From what we can see, the device will spot some premium materials, which include metal and glass.
As the Pro name implies, the device will be a beast of the specs. It will use a top-notch chip (not disclosed which one), a cutting edge camera, even more improved Hi-Fi audio system and more. Another sources, however, suggest a Snapdragon 615 chip inside.
Also, vivo X5Pro is said to spot a 2.5D curved frame and double-sided glass screen. What is more, it is said that the device will have a Retina scanner.
Moreover, the picture suggests that the device will have Android 5.0 out of the box with the proprietary implementation of Funtouch OS 2.0 on top of it.
We can’t wait to see what Vivo has for us as May is just around the corner!
It has become quite popular nowadays to produce the smartphones with thin bezels. Year after year, companies try to reduce both side, up and down bezels as much as possible. It may not be practical at all since the screen becomes prone to damage if the device is dropped. Also, it is not practical as you can just simply cover part of the screen and leave your fingerprint there. Still, devices like Meizu MX4, which has really thin bezels set the standard for what seems to be really trendy today despite the lack of practicality. This is all for the sake of good looks and probably for the sake of bragging. Both, for the companies, which produce these devices and for the end users.
The all new bezel less devices have been around for a while and it seems that the bezel less devices war in China has reached the new climax. We already saw Oppo’s upcoming device in flesh and it definitely looks amazing.
But you may have also heard about another device, which is said to have zero border footprint. We think that it looks even more sick as purported new renders leaked!
As you can see from the above pics, the new upcoming device looks to be truly bezel less as it spots edge to edge screen. Moreover, it appears that both sides of the screen have rounded edges, similar to the ones seen on the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. What is more, on the front bottom of the device there is a square home button, which seems to be a fingerprint scanner.
The renders also reveal a glass back panel, the camera along with the dual tone dual LED’s. Also, the device spots a nice looking metal frame.
The Nubia Z9 shapes up to be a really good looking device and we can’t wait to see when it is released!
We all know that it has become trendy to reduce the side bezels on the devices as much as possible. Manufacturers like Meizu set the bar high for other smartphone makers, but it seems that Oppo wants to set a new standard as their unannounced R7 model leaked again in the best pics so far!
It turns out that it is a huge challenge for a manufacturer to produce such a borderless device. It took a lot of time in developing this technology and the Oppo is using some proprietary patented process to do that.
There is no word on any specs of the device yet. However, we presume that it should at least be an upper mid-range class or even flagship grade smartphone. In any way, the device’s main selling point will definitely be its bezel less display.
We can’t wait to see this and other purported bezel less devices like Nubia Z9. Stay tuned as we will be covering news and will try to get our hands-on as soon as these devices are released.
LeTV, the Netflix of China, has brought us breathtaking dramas, such as ‘The Four’ and ‘City of Angels’, and it now presents us with a new lineup of super Smartphones! Although LeTV is a new player to the market, it is no amateur.
Earlier leaks have wowed us with robust specs of its flagships, which are LeTV X900 and a slightly lower end, LeTV X600.
The LeTV X900 is among the top tier of Smartphones, which features a powerful octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, with 4GB RAM under the hood. Its Chipset is the latest and the most powerful of the Qualcomm’s 800 series. It also features a whopping 20.7 million pixels rear and a 4MP front camera. The sleek bezel-less display is 5.5 inches with a glorified 2K resolution.
On the contrary, the LeTV X600 is powered by the MT6795, which also contains an octa-core processor armed with a 5.5 inch screen, but with 1080 pixel display. When it comes to camera resolutions, this flagship is still high end, with a 13 million pixels rear and a 5MP front camera.
According to the latest buzz, the affordable X600 would be priced around 1500 – 2000 Yuan while the premium version might have a price tag of 2500 Yuan. These powerful babies are set to be released on April 14th in Beijing.
Although Meizu may be well known now as the manufacturer of the M1 series of Smartphones, their roots lie in music. Originally, they prided themselves as producers of high-end MP3 players and their roots are clearly evident from the crisp HIFI audio at the heart of their M1 and MX4 pro flagships. Recently, they have teased us with an empty headphone box with their emblem on it, signaling the unveiling of a pair of never before seen DJ style headphones.
After weeks of teasing, the Company’s Vice President, Li Han, confirmed the rumor to be truethrough Weibo. He also mentions their collaboration with a massive global audio brand, AKG acoustics, and when released, will be the company’s first solo headphones without any other flagship devices attached. Right now, we are all baffled by this empty box and have to wait until all is revealed on April 15th, according to the latest reports.
It looks like Xiaomi has yet another product that will be unveiled pretty soon. The company revealed a teaser recently on its Xiaomi India page, saying “i is coming”. Many predicted that the teaser was for the global launch of the Xiaomi Mi Note flagship series which was announced back in January. But it looks like the company was teasing another product for launch in India.
Singapore IDA database
A new variant Xiaomi Mi4 was spotted on the Singapore IDA database and later on the GeekBench3 website. The device was called as the Xiaomi Mi4i and is probably the low-end version of the company’s flagship Mi4 smartphone.
Xiaomi Mi4i Geekbench3
Thanks to the GeekBench3, we have some of the tech specs of the device. The Xiaomi Mi4 will use a 1.6GHz octa-core Qualcomm processor, which we guess is none other than the Snapdragon 615. It will come with 2GB RAM on board and Android 5.0.2 OS version. Other specs are still not clear.
This leak answers at least some of our questions. The reason why Xiaomi’s teaser stressed so much on “i is coming” is probably because the low-end Xiaomi Mi4i is launching that day. Given the downgraded specs, we expect the pricing to be around 1599 Yuan, or even lower.
So, what do you think about Xiaomi’s move to release a new Mi4i version for a slightly lower price tag?
