Details about Kirin 935 inside Huawei P8 leaked: New GPU?

While we are just 10 days away from the official unveiling of the Huawei P8 flagship, rumors about the device are still coming in. Thanks to the previous leaks, we know most of the specs of the upcoming P8, however, there’s still a lot of confusion about the processor inside the device.

huawei-p8-2

Earlier it was said that the Huawei P8 will sport the same Kirin 930 processor as the Huawei Mediapad X2. However, we recently came to know that the processor was based on quad Cortex A53 + quad Cortex A53e architecture, which may not be as powerful as predicted. As a result, it didn’t make sense for Huawei to use the same less powerful Kirin 930 chipset on an important flagship.

Recently, new reports cropped up online claiming that the Huawei P8 will sport the powerful version of the Kirin 935 chipset. Up till now, we had no idea about the specs of this rumored 935, however, earlier today, a new leak gave out some details about the chip.

huawei-p8-3

It is said that the company will increase the clock speed on the Kirin 935 to 2.2GHz. On the other hand, the existing Kirin 930 was clocked at 2.0GHz. Also, the company plans to give this chip a graphic performance boost with a new GPU. These changes are expected to improve the performance of the device to a great extent, however, we still don’t know whether it will be up to the mark as compared to other flagship SoCs currently available in the market.

huawei-p8-1

Design wise, the Huawei P8 flagship will use a slim 6.4mm metal + glass body. There’s even a rumored platinum version which may feature dual sided sapphire glass protection.

As for the tech specs, the P8 is said to come with a 5.2-inch full HD 1080p display. There will be 3GB RAM on board with 32GB of expandable storage. Other possible tech specs include Android 5.0, 13MP rear camera with temperature flash, 5MP front shooter, 2520mAh battery and 4G dual SIM dual standby support.

Expect more details about the Kirin 935 chipset as well as the Huawei P8 flagship in the next few days.

Stay tuned.

Entry level Huawei C8818 spotted with octa-core processor and 2GB RAM

Huawei has shipped over 1 million devices in its C881X lineup. Today, we have come across yet another device in this lineup which will offer decent specs for a relatively low price tag.

The Huawei C8818 recently hit TENAA revealing a few set of pictures and the full tech specs. The phone will support only CDMA networks and not GSM, yet will feature dual SIM dual Standby, which is a rarity in these types of devices.

huawei c8818

As for the processor, the Huawei C8818 will come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz with 2GB RAM on board. There will be 8GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 32GB via MicroSD. Up front, the Huawei C8818 will feature a 5-inch 720p display along with a 5MP camera on top. At the back, there will be a 13MP shooter. The phone is said to run on the Android 4.4 KitKat version of the OS.

Design wise, the Huawei C8818 looks a lot like the Huawei Honor 4X. You can clearly see the round edges, top left camera placement and many other distinctive characteristics that’s directly carried forward from the 4X. So, the C8818 could be CDMA variant of the device. However, the phone is slightly thicker with the measurements, 143.5 × 71.9 × 8.9mm. On the other hand, the Honor 4X was 8.7mm thin. But, this particular device weighs around 162 grams which is less than the 165 gram 4X.

As you can see, the Huawei C8818 packs in good specs in well designed body. The phone could be priced anywhere around 1000 Yuan which would make it a great deal for customers looking to take advantage of 4G on CDMA networks.

Given that this is a CDMA edition, we don’t think the phone will ever be releaed outside of China. But what do you think about the phone, if the price is indeed $160.

GREE Phone leaks again, this time you can see its UI!

Recently, the GREE G0111 mobile phone got leaked again in some high definition pictures.

Gree smartphone

From the images, it looks like the phone has a good built, It comes with narrow bezels in black color. However, the color on the back is silver. In addition, it should be noted that the rear shell on Gree mobile phone is made of plastic material, but it feels good. It does not have a app drawer but has all the apps on the homescreen similar to other Chinese phones. Xiaomi’s MIUI has a similar design. In the configuration, the phone is using a 5-inch 720p screen, equipped with 410 quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor with 2MP front and 5MP Rear camera. It has 1GB RAM and 8GB internal memory, It also supports SD memory card expansion,  and supports China Unicom 4G / 3G and GSM networks, The Gree smartphone does not support dual SIM dual standby which can be considered as a drawback. It is said that the phone will run on Android 4.4.4. As for the price, expect it to be around 599 Yuan.16-150405201947-50

Beautiful OPPO Find 9 leaked in pictures with a dual camera unit

We know OPPO has been busy working on its successor to the Find 7, but as of late, we have heard very little about the phone. Now, the OPPO Find has finally leaked again in pictures, showing off its unique design.

image

Although the images are not very clear, we managed to spot a few features of the upcoming device. For example, the first distinctive characteristic of the device is its dual camera setup at the back. It started with HTC and nowadays many companies like Huawei have started using such a setup. So, its not surprising to see such a dual camera unit at the back of Find 9 too.

Another interesting aspect revealed by this picture is the round button at the back. We feel this is the power button just like the one one LG G3. However, given its rather large size, we feel that it could be a fingerprint sensor too.

The front of the OPPO Find 9 is clean, but bezels looks very thin. As a result, the display covers the entire sides of the device. However, you do see top and bottom bezels which are quite thick. The basic design seems to be a continuation of OPPO Find 7.

Although this leak doesn’t reveal the tech specs, earlier leaks have said that the OPPO Find 9 will feature the powerful Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor with 4GB RAM and a 5.5-inch 2K display.

The company is yet to announce an official launch date for the OPPO Find 9, but we hope to see more information soon.

So, what do you think about the Find 9?

Huawei Honor 4C Play specs revealed, may directly compete with Redmi 2 at 699 Yuan!

Huawei is on a roll this year as the company is all set to release a number of handsets in both, the top end and entry level lineup. While we already know that the Huawei P8 will be unveiled at an official event on April 15, it looks like the company has yet another gadget in store for us. The upcoming Huawei Honor 4C Play will be a compact device with a 5-inch display. The phone will have an eight core processor along with 2GB to run things smoothly. Moreover, since this will first launch in China, you can expect two versions of the device, namely the GSM CHM-TL00 and the CDMA CHM-CL00.

Since this is a 5-inch device, the dimension measure just 143.5 × 71.9 × 8.9 (mm). Also, it has a weight 162 (g) which is decent for a device of its size.

huawei honor play 4c

Coming to the exact tech specs, the Huawei Honor 4C Play will sport a 5-inch display with HD 720p resolution. There will be 2GB RAM onboard along with 8GB of expandable internal storage. Like mentioned above, you’ll find an eight core processor inside, however the exact make depends upon the version of the device. The GSM version comes with Huawei’s own Kirin 620 processor clocked at 1.2GHz while the CDMA edition comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615. At the back, there will be a 13MP camera while up front you’ll find a 5MP shooter. The Huawei Honor Play 4C runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and will feature a 2550 mAh battery.

The device will be available in white, black, and gold colors. Since the Huawei 4X is priced at 799 Yuan, we don’t think the Huawei Play 4C will be priced any higher. In fact, this particular device could be targeted to compete directly at the Xiaomi Redmi 2. And in comparison, the Play 4C does manage to get ahead of the Xiaomi device in some aspects.

Anyways, lets wait for the official pricing and availability details from the company and hope that we have yet another cheap device for choosing in the coming weeks.

Nokia’s Concept Smartphone looks so beautiful!

We know that Nokia is not allowed to manufacture and release smartphones under its name till 2016. However, that doesn’t stop us from conceptualizing what a Nokia made premium Android smartphone would look like.

nokia concept image 2

Today we have come across three new images of a Nokia smartphone concept. The phone seems to retain a similar design as as the company’s Lumia range. However, the phone is made entirely of metal and not polycarbonate. Nevertheless, the device looks quite good especially with its unibody design.

nokia concept image 3

The bezels are extremely thin, which makes it all the more premium. Interestingly, the buttons on the sides stand out from the overall body due to its black shade. The power button lies on the left while the volume keys as well as the camera button lies on the right. You get the Nokia branding right on top of the device, along with a large front camera sensor besides it. But the designer has done well to blend everything together into one design.

One of the images even show a yellow, probably polycarbonate version of the design and that looks quite good too.

So what do you think about the new Nokia smartphone concept? Looks beautiful right?

Huawei P8 could feature Kirin 935 processor!

In the last two days, we have come across multiple leaks about the upcoming Huawei P8 flagship. Images as well as specs have already been leaked before. However, a new report has come up online which claims that the Huawei P8 smartphone will feature the company’s Kirin 935 processor. So, instead of the same Kirin 930 that we saw on the Huawei Mediapad X2 tablet, we may see a slightly upgraded SoC inside the P8.

huawei p8 1

Unfortunately, as of this moment, we have very little details on what the Kirin 935 offers. In the previous leaks, we have learned about Kirin 940 as well as Kirin 950, but there were no details about 935. It is said that the Kirin 935 will be a slightly better version of the 930. 935 will be an octa-core processor as the 930 but the GPU is reportedly bumped up.

huawei p8 kirin 935

We recently came to know that Kirin 930 is probably built on a 28nm manufacturing process, instead of 16nm as previously rumored. Also, while the all Cortex A53 (quad Cortex A53e) processors helps in saving battery life to a considerable extent, it may not be as powerful as we previously thought. As a result, for an important flagship like the Huawei P8, it will make sense if the company decided to increase the performance with the Kirin 935.

The report also adds that the device will feature Sony IMX278 camera sensor. However, we have no details about this particular model, at least not right now. It could be a new Sony sensor which we will see soon or even a custom made sensor by Huawei. However, we expect Huawei to incorporate an amazing camera on the P8, so the IMX278 is probably high end.

Just last night we came to know that Huawei could be planning to name the two models, the Huawei P8 Standard Edition and the Huawei P8 Platinum Edition with double sided sapphire glass. It was also said that the Platinum Edition could costs as much as 5000 Yuan!

Anyways, the leaks have shown us that Huawei P8 could be a great looking flagship with powerful specs. So, we are all the more excited for April 15 when the company will officially unveil the device.

Huawei P8 Platinum Edition with Sapphire glass to cost 5000 Yuan?

New details on the Huawei P8 flagship have been leaked on Chinese social network Weibo. The leak reveals the official titles of the two versions of the upcoming flagship smartphone – a standard/ordinary edition and an exclusive Huawei P8 Platinum Edition – as well as a few details on the look and price of the now-revealed Platinum Edition. Given that the leak comes from a well known leaker from Weibo, it could actually turn out to be true!

huawei p8 new leak 11

The leak reveals that a couple of the main differences the Platinum Edition will have over the standard/ordinary edition of the Huawei P8 will be an addition to the device’s body as well as its color. The Platinum edition will feature sapphire glass panels on both the front and the back sides of the phone. The Platinum Edition will also come in gold instead of the black that is expected on the standard edition.

The Standard Edition will come in Black
The Standard Edition will come in Black

It was previously leaked that the Huawei P8 will come in two versions with different body materials – one featuring an aluminum alloy body and one featuring zirconia ceramic. It might be safe to assume that the Platinum Edition will be the one to come in the latter material.

This is the huawei p8 standard edition
This is the huawei p8 standard edition

The leak did not reveal if the Platinum Edition will keep the same specifications as the standard edition but if it does it’ll feature 5.2-inch display with 1080p resolution, 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, Huawei’s Kirin 930 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and 3,000 mAh battery.

According to the leak, the Huawei P8 Platinum Edition will sell for around 5000 Yuan. Both the editions are expected to be officially revealed on April 15 at the company’s official event. Also, the standard edition is expected for an official release on April 22. Whether the Platinum Edition will release at the same time as the standard edition is unknown.

Xiaomi 55-inch TV Unboxing

Just a few days ago, the Chinese giant Xiaomi announced new products that include a 55-inch 4K TV. Priced at 4999 yuan, this huge TV comes in with a lot of extras, which include a soundbar and a subwoofer to provide you an immersive sound experience.

As far as design goes, the new Xiaomi Mi TV looks very similar to its predecessor, the 49-incher. It uses a premium metal frame, which has a brushed finish. What is more, the new TV is impresses us as it has just 1.52cm of thinness (at its thinnest point).

Just below the screen there are touch screen capacitive buttons, which have an embedded  “breathing” light. The touch screen lets you turn on/off the device, adjust the volume and 2D/3D switching modes.

As far as connection ports go, the TV offers three HDMI 2.0 ports, which support 60Hz 4K video input, USB, Scart, Audio and other usual ports you would find on any other modern TV set.

We do not usually do any TV unboxings, so this one will be quite short. Take a look at the pictures below.

Meizu Will Soon Release 69 Yuan 10000mah Power Bank!

Since the Xiaomi launched their super affordable, yet premium looking power bank, it has been one of the best sellers both in China and internationally. However, the market is full power banks and consumers are always looking for the best deals out there.

It seems that another Chinese manufacturer Meizu wants to step into the game as they will soon launch a very affordable 10000mAh Powerbank with a single USB output as well as Micro USB input ports.

Screenshot 2015-04-03 13.05.27

As far as design goes, this power pack looks a bit similar to the OnePlus external battery. Also, it spots LED lights to notify about the juice left in it.

As far as the features, it is a bit of a downgrade in comparison to Xiaomi’s offering, which has dual-USB ports for charging. However, it is said that Meizu’s battery pack will be priced at just 69 Yuan in China, so it will have a competitive edge for those, who are looking for the cheapest price possible.

However, it is said that there will be another version of power bank, which will have lithium-ion polymer batteries (instead of regular lithium-ion), which will be have a higher than 100 Yuan price tag.

Lenovo Z90-7 (Vibe Shot) hits TENAA, supports full network connectivity!

Lenovo unveiled a surprise product at MWC 2015, the all new camera centric Lenovo Vibe Shot. Now, it looks like the Chinese variant of the device, the Lenovo Z90-7 has just hit TENAA revealing pictures, specs and connectivity details.

lenovo z90-7

TENAA reveals that the specs of the Chinese Vibe Shot will be a bit different than the international version. For example, the 5-inch display on the front features just HD 720p resolution in the Lenovo Z90-7 model, however the international model boasted of a full HD 1080p resolution. The phone will be powered by a 1.7GHz eight core processor, which could be the Snapdragon 615. However, considering the full network connectivity support, we suspect, it could be the new Mediatek MT6753 octa-core SoC based on Cortex A53 cores. This Mediatek processor supports full network connectivity, which means support for GSM, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, CDMA, TD-LTE and FDD-LTE networks. You also get Dual SIM dual standby on the device.

lenovo z90-7 2

Other tech specs are also pretty high end. So, the Lenovo Z90-7 comes with 3GB RAM  and 32GB of expandable ROM. Since this is a camera centric phone, you get a powerful 16MP rear camera sensor with triple LED dual tone flash. At the front, you get an 8MP shooter ideal for selfies. The phone runs on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with Lenovo Vibe 2.5 UI on top. There will be a built-in 2900 mAh battery on board to power all these specs.

3lenovo z90-7 2

The Lenovo Z90-7 i.e. the Vibe Shot looks like a solid offering from the company. The phone is extremely well built, featuring a 7.8mm thin body and weighing just about 148 grams. The back of the device especially looks good with the metal strip highlighting the powerful sensor and the triple LED flash.

The international variant of the Lenovo Vibe shot was priced at $349, which comes to around 2163 Yuan. So, we can expect the Lenovo Z90-7 too to be priced around this figure in China.

So what do think about the Lenovo Vibe Shot? Priced appropriately?

HTC One M9 Plus promotional pictures leaked, confirms physical home button!

HTC One M9 Plus has been the talk of the town in the past few weeks. The company has kept an official event on April 8, where it will unveil this phablet. However, even when the launch is just a week away, leaks about the M9 Plus still continue to come.

htc one m9 plus 15

The latest leak reveals the full promotional images of the HTC One M9 Plus phablet. You can clearly see the writings in Chinese which explain the intricate details of the upcoming device. The company particularly highlights the design and workman ship of its new device. For example, one of the picture says “the quality of the metal is as good as silk”, while another says “the phone reveals elegant shine”. So, it looks like the company has put in a lot of efforts to design the new product.

htc one m9 plus 7

Another important fact revealed by these images is the physical home button. Yes, like we saw in earlier renders, these images too confirm that the HTC One M9 Plus will have a physical home button in between its boom sound speakers. What’s more it is rumored that the button could feature a fingerprint sensor.

htc one m9 plus 12

htc one m9 plus 2

According to earlier rumors, the HTC One M9 Plus will feature Snapdragon 810 processor in one version and MT6795octa-core processor in another. There will be 3GB RAM onboard with 32GB of expandable internal storage. The 5.2-inch display up front will feature a 2K display. At the back, there will be a 20.7MP camera while at the front, it will have the same 4MP Ultrapixel sensor as the HTC One M9. Finally, the battery is said to be of 2840 mAh.

Unfortunately, we still don’t know the pricing of the device, but expect it to be much higher than the flagship HTC One M9. Since, the launch date is just a few days away, we will have to patiently wait for official information from the company.

Meanwhile, you can check out the full promo images from the gallery down below.

New Images of the Huawei P8 Flagship emerge!

We have been eagerly waiting to see the Huawei P8 flagship for some time now. Recently, the company confirmed that the device will launch on April 15, which is now only a few days away. But before the launch, we have come across plenty of leaks to give us some idea about the upcoming device. Even today, we have three alleged pictures of the said Huawei P8.

huawei p8 1

These images show off the smooth metal frame around the body. In one picture, you can even see the camera sensor with dual LED (dual tone) flash. The power button seems to be different, placed a bit inside into the body. This could be because it is said that the Huawei P8 will incorporate a fingerprint sensor in the power button. While we are still not 100% convinced that this will be the case in the new flagship device, still it would be interesting to see such a placement. Overall, from what we can see, the device looks premium and well built.

2huawei p8 1

redmi 2a unbox 9

Xiaomi unveiled the all new Redmi 2A, which is now the cheapest smartphone in the market from the company. However, there isn’t much price difference between the regular Redmi 2 and the Redmi 2A. The latter just costs 100 Yuan less than the Redmi 2, which is still a great achievement since the entry level model was super cheap to begin with.

So, today, we take a look at what you may have to sacrifice in the Redmi 2A as compared to the Redmi 2 which is 100 Yuan costlier. If you read our earlier post, you would know that Xiaomi is offering the 2A at just 499 Yuan on April 8th which is the day of the Xiaomi Rice festival.

Anyways, in this unboxing we take a look at what the Redmi 2A offers for its cheap price.

First of all, the box is exactly the same as the Redmi 2. So, you will find it extremely hard to distinguish between the two without taking at look at the model number information given at the back.

Redmi 2A and Redmi 2

Once inside, you will realize that its again the same as Redmi. Even the charger is of 5V/ 1A. So, no major differences there.

Coming to the looks, the Redmi 2A and the Redmi 2 looks identical. You won’t be able to guess which one is which just by looking at them. So, it looks like despite the price difference, both the models use the same design, body and material.

So, in reality, both the models are very similar to each other. There are only a couple of major differences like the processor under the hood and the network connectivity features which justify the 100 Yuan that you have to shell out for the Redmi 2.

But even the Leadcore L180C quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz is quite capable as shown by the AnTuTu Benchmark test. Other specs are the same as the Redmi 2, so you get a 720p 5-inch display, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front shooter and 2200mAh battery. However, the 2A supports just three mode baseband instead of the five-mode on Redmi 2.
