According to SumahoDigest, a typically trustworthy source, the purported Geekbench entry is for the “Sony XQ-DT72” model, which is assumed to be an Xperia 1 for 2023. The OpenCL score for GPU testing is 11,647 points, which is essentially twice as much as the previous score (Adreno 740 iGPU vs. Adreno 730 iGPU).

Due to the apparent performance boost between the iGPU components of the Xperia 1 IV and Xperia 1 V, this specific benchmark leak appears to be rather shady, however, another rumor from ZACKBUKS comes in a more reliable form.

According to the well-known Xperia leaker, the Sony camera team may use LG Innotek’s “Optical Telephoto Zoom Module,” which has the dual advantages of providing 4x to 9x magnification and being so small as to do away with the need for a camera bump. It would be a shocking step for Sony to move away from its own camera expertise.

The Xperia 1 IV launched in China in June and didn’t get on sale in the US until September, and the Xperia 1 III likewise took its time going from China to the US and UK (over two-and-a-half months). In October 2021, Japanese tech giant Sony Xperia reached an agreement with Chinese company Meizu that would see some elements of Meizu’s Flyme OS integrated on Sony Xperia smartphones. Since then, Xperia phones launched in China are equipped with several Flyme apps bringing a localized user experience.

There are indications that Sony may be toying with the idea of fully integrating Flyme OS on its smartphones. Already, existing Xperia phones sold in China are pre-installed with app store, email, weather, news and information widgets and others adapted by Flyme. However, a survey questionnaire sent out by Sony recently sought feedback from users regarding their experience using the OS delivered with a touch of Flyme features. One of the questions probed users for their view about Flyme fully integrated on the Xperia phones to replace the existing OS.

Rumors of Sony Xperia phones using Meizu’s Flyme OS first emerged in January this year. A Chinese blogger later revealed that Sony disclosed that the Xperia phones in China will on get some localized supplements provided by Meizu with the entire OS still based on stock Android. A couple of weeks ago, Sony announced its latest flagship smartphone, dubbed Sony Xperia 1 IV and the phone was recently unveiled in the Chinese market. Today, the smartphone officially goes on sale in China.

The 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage model is priced at 8,499 yuan, which is about $1,270 while the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage model costs 9,499 yuan (~$1,419). It comes in three colors — Black, Purple, and White.

The Sony Xperia 1 IV features a 6.5-inch 4K HDR OLED display that has a 120Hz refresh rate and an aspect ratio of 21:9. It also offers 240Hz motion blur reduction and 240Hz touch scanning rate along with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, coupled with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. It is rated IP68 for water and dust resistance and comes with full stage stereo speakers, and even a 3.5mm headphone jack that supports Hi-Res audio.

The camera department is the highlight of the smartphone. There’s a triple-camera setup on the back that includes three 12-megapixel sensors. It consists of a 24mm f/1.7 primary camera with a 1/1.7-inch sensor, a 16mm f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle lens, and an 85 to 125mm f/2.3 to f/2.8 telephoto zoom lens. On the front side, there’s a 12-megapixel snapper for taking selfies and video calling.

Sony released a new trailer yesterday for its upcoming Xperia product claiming that it has the ‘best smartphone camera’. The mysterious event will be held on October 26 (Oct. 25 in the US) and all we know about it is that “a new Xperia is coming” with a focus on professional photography and videography above everything else.

By this, one might think that the curtains are about to be lifted on a sequel to the Xperia Pro. But as it stands, Sony has gotten a few professional photographers to praise more affordable and less impressive models like the Xperia 1 III and even the mid-range Xperia 5 II in the teaser, so it doesn’t necessarily mean that Sony will be unveiling an absolute flagship model.

As for what’s next, Sony seems to have gotten a content creator, photographer, and filmmaker to spend time with the device and they’ve all got nice things to say about it like: “It almost felt like it was a camera attached to a phone”, so there’s that.

For those unaware, the Japanese tech giant took to Twitter to announce that a new “Xperia Product Announcement” will be held on October 26. But apart from the date, no finer details regarding this product was shared. In other words, it was initially unclear whether the new Xperia series device is a new smartphone or tablet. But now, the 3C listing labelled the product as a 5G mobile phone, with a model number of XQ-BE72. Since the handset was spotted on the 3C website, we can safely assume that the smartphone will be available in the Chinese market.

Furthermore, an ITHome report suggests that the device could be the Chinese variant of the Xperia 5 III. The 3C certification also revealed that the new device will support up to 30W fast charging. Talking about the specs of the Xperia 5 III which was launched back in April, it sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of internal storage, and a 6.1 inch OLED display with 120Hz high refresh rate. However, the Japanese company has now surprised us all with their latest announcement.

Sony took to Twitter today to declare a new “Xperia Product Announcement” to be held on October 26. No other information was provided apart from this. However, considering the fact that Xperia is the brand name of smartphones and tablets from Sony, it is safe to assume that the product to be launched will indeed be a tablet or phone.

Another peculiarity is the image used by Sony for its announcement. It can be said that it is a rather cryptic portrayal of light falling on a camera lens, although it could just be us overthinking things and it’s nothing but art.

If it indeed is a phone, then it could be from a brand new series. But of course, there’s no evidence pointing towards the product being a smartphone in the first place.

The pre-order period will be from September 1 to September 15 and it will start shipping from September 17.

Sony has finally come up with an announcement about its new Xperia product launch. The Japanese giant is hosting a launch event on April 14 and Xperia 1 III, 10 III are some of the expected ones.

Sony Mobile, via a Facebook post, confirmed that the event will start from 16:30 JST /09:30 AM CEST /13:00 IST/3:30 PM Beijing Time on April 14, 2021. Considering the situation, it’s most likely a virtual event and be streamed across its social media channels.

Sony hasn’t given any other hints about the stars of the show but a Weibo tipster @ZACKBUKS says that we can expect the Xperia 1 III, Xperia 10 III at the event. However, the Sony Xperia 5 III should launch sometime towards the end of the year.

Talking about the Xperia 1 III and 10 III, both aren’t new to us. The CAD Renders of both the devices have given us an idea of what to expect in the 2021 iteration. Among these, the Sony Xperia 1 III design leak reveals a similar design to the predecessor.

It is said to have a 6.5-inch 4K CinemaWide 4K HDR OLED display with thin bezels and chin. As for design, it is expected to have a metal frame on the edges and a glass panel on the rear. In terms of camera, the Xperia 1 III is said to get the ZEISS with a ZEISS T coating.

As for the lenses on the triple-camera, Sony is said to include a Periscope lens, 3D iTOF sensor. The Xperia 10, III, on the other hand, would be a mid-range 5G smartphone. Back in November 2020, a report said that Sony canceled the Xperia 10 II Plus and is going forward with including 5G on all Xperia devices in the future.

Accordingly, the Xperia 10 III that has appeared on Geekbench listings seems to have the Snapdragon 690 5G chipset. The CAD renders of the device suggest that it could have a 6-inch screen, measure 8.4mm in thickness, triple-camera with 12MP main lens, 8MP selfie shooter.

Let’s wait and see how Sony prices these devices in the respective markets where it launches.

Sony has reportedly canceled the idea of refreshing the Xperia 10 Plus with a 10 II Plus. A Chinese tipster says the company is going to launch Xperia devices with 5G support in the future.

The report comes from a Chinese Tipster going by the name Caybule(via GSMArena)who says that Sony Xperia 10 II Plus(or a 10 Plus II) is canceled. Apparently, Sony decided that all the new Xperia models in the future should get 5G support. And hence, it has canceled the idea of launching a mid-range device with Snapdragon 720(Probably the 720G) SoC.

The report further says that if such Xperia existed, it would have popped up on the leak radar more by now. That’s understandable considering the Xperia 10 Plus got announced way back in MWC 2019. And a successor, if true, was already long overdue.

Anyway, a device with model number XQ-AQ52/53, believed to be the Xperia 10 II Plus, was spotted on EEC. The certification has a registration date of July 31, 2020, but we haven’t heard anything regarding the device since then.

Leap to 5G on mid-range devices

In case you don’t know, Sony announced Xperia 1 II and 10 II back in Feb this year. The 10 II is sort of the next iteration to the Xperia 10 that launched along with the 10 Plus. Adding a 10 II Plus(10 Plus II) to the tally would have fitted perfectly with upgrades in Processor, Camera, and more. This is because the 10 Plus has a Snapdragon 636 SoC while the 10 II Plus was rumored to get a Snapdragon 7 series SoC.

Besides, the report says two other models with OEM IDs PM-134X-BV and PM-135X-BV have been found on Sony servers. It is likely the Xperia 1 III and 10 III that’s due for 2021 but nothing’s certain yet. That said, if the tipster is true, Sony’s mid-range Smartphones will support 5G connectivity from 2021. But we will have to wait for the official word to confirm it.

Sony has been in the smartphone business for many years but the company has not been having a good run in the segment since the past few years if we look at the company’s financials. Despite being unprofitable for several years, the Japanese company kept on making and launching new phones.

Well, it seems that the company’s efforts are finally paying off. Sony has confirmed that it is expecting its Mobile Communications business to post its first yearly profit in four years.

In the recent earnings call, Sony confirmed that the company has shipped 800,000 Xperia smartphones in the second quarter of this year (via PhoneArena). The numbers are quite good for Sony, which is down by only 100,000 units from the same period in 2019.

In Q2 2020, the demand for smartphones declined because of the COVID-19 pandemic and despite that, the company sold a decent number of units. Compared to Q1 2020, the Xperia smartphone shipments have doubled.

Sony’s expected profitability for the smartphone business is the result of several different steps taken by the company. For instance, the company has significantly downsized its operations in the past quarters and is also lowering costs.

The company has not yet revealed how much profit it is expecting from this division. Further, Sony has also revealed that it is shifting its focus away from high-end smartphones, given that the demand is lowering.

Instead, the company will now be focusing on mid-range and low-end smartphones. Sony is claiming this as a temporary transition because of the COVID-19 pandemic but it expects the mid-range Xperia smartphones to account for a larger share.

Smartphone manufacturers have adopted numerous methods to achieve a full screen body on the front. One of the more popular ones was the popup selfie camera system, which had a raising mechanism that housed the image sensor. Now, a new report suggests that a new Sony Xperia device might also feature this technology, with its popup housing both a speaker and a camera system.

According to a recently published patent, Sony is considering adopting the retractable mechanism, which has been adopted by quite a few companies, especially from China. Looking at the patent details, we can observe that the company has not only offered a popup camera but a pop down speaker as well. The latter is lowered from the bottom chin of the smartphone and houses a front facing speaker.

The top also houses a speaker, but with a lone selfie camera near the right corner. Sony had applied for the patent back in 2018, which was finally granted earlier this month and published by the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office). The patent images reveal a Sony smartphone with negligible bezels on every corner and a full screen body at the front. Just a narrow chin and notch are noticeable, which are the region which raises and lower.

This means that the Sony Xperia device will have a dual speaker system. These speakers also rise and fall according to the task being performed. The bottom and top portion are raised during a call, but only the top will rise for a selfie. In other words, these two mechanisms are completely independent and activate automatically. Unfortunately, this is just a patent and we have no way of currently knowing whether Sony is actually building such a smartphone or simply covering all bases.

The Japanese electronics giant recently released its earnings report for the first quarter of 2020. According to it, the company’s smartphone shipments plunged by 64% YoY in Q1 2020, the largest ever-drop in its history.

The shipments of Sony Xperia lineup of smartphones have been dropping since 2015. The company had a solid performance in 2013 and 2014 with 39.1 million units each year. Then, it finally declined to only 3.2 million units in 2019. That’s almost 50% lesser than 6.5 million units in 2018.

Sony’s smartphone business does not seem to have a bright future at his point. The company has to revamp its strategy to succeed in the world’s one of the most competitive industry.

Recently, Sony merged its Mobile Communications business with Imaging Products & Solutions and Home Entertainment & Sound under a new holding company called ‘Sony Electronics Corporation’. Maybe, this will help the company build compelling products for customers.

2020 is an important year for Sony. The consumer electronics giant is set to release numerous products which include the much anticipated PlayStation 5 and its Xperia lineup of smartphones; one of which is the successor to Sony Xperia 5 that is now expected to arrive with a new punch hole selfie camera.

According to a new report, Sony Corporation has applied for a design patent back in its home country, Japan. The patent is for a new graphical user interface and was published in the WIPO Global Design Database on 19th December 2019. In the patent, two color renders are included for a smartphone on which the UI is showcased. It reveals a number of details regarding the smartphone like a chin on the bottom of the device. On the top, however, the bezels are so narrow that there will be no room for a selfie camera.

Furthermore, the renders patented also illustrates the frame and borders of the upcoming Xperia smartphone. This leads to speculation of the device sporting a punch hole display selfie camera on the front. Notably, Sony could also opt for a pop up camera but that is unlikely for the OEM. The reason being that the company highly values its water-resistant handsets with IP ratings. Sony Xperia Z was the first waterproof smartphone and the company might not skip such an integral feature for a flagship device.

Additionally, when the renders are compared to existing Xperia smartphones, it is seen that the device’s aspect ratio and form factor is identical to Sony Xperia 1 which was the top model for 2019. The patent also reveals other key information like “Monday, February 25”, which was the announcement day of the previous flagship smartphone from the company. MWC 2020 kicks off on 24th February 2020, so we can expect to see more details regarding the device on the second day.

Unfortunately, finer details regarding the upcoming flagship smartphone are currently unknown. However, it is rumored that the Sony Xperia flagship will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 SoC. This would make the handset the first Sony 5G smartphone. Xperia 10 is also likely to get a 5G successor as a Geekbench test showcased a 2020 Xperia model equipped with a Snapdragon 765G processor for a 5G mid-range smartphone.

Qualcomm recently launched its new Snapdragon 765G chipset aimed at mid-range devices that comes with support for 5G connectivity. While brands like Xiaomi (Redmi), Oppo, and Realme have already launched or announced their new 5G-powered phones backed by the same chpiset, it seems like Sony is also joining the list.

A new Sony Xperia smartphone has been spotted on benchmarking platform Geekbench, revealing some of the specs of the upcoming device. It lists that the smartphone in question is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC.

The phone, which is codenamed “K8220”, is also listed to pack 8GB of RAM and run Android 10 operating system out-of-the-box. While the phone’s model number falls under the category of flagship smartphones from Japan-based Sony, based on the previous track record, but it seems that the company is changing the strategy as the phone in question is a mid-range one.

The Geekbench listing of the upcoming Sony Xperia “K8220” smartphone reveals that the device managed to score 465 points on the single-core test and 1,757 points on multi-core test. Do note that these scores are based on Geekbench 5.0.3 benchmarking tool.

HMD Global’s flagship smartphone Nokia 9 PureView currently holds the crown when it comes to the most number of rear camera sensors on the smartphone. Well, if the reports are to be believed, then Sony could soon take the crown.

As per the reports, Sony is currently developing a new Xperia smartphone which will comes with a whopping six rear camera sensors. However, it’s not clear at this moment how these sensors will be arranged.

The report also has a render of the back camera sensor but it’s simply a mock-up. As for the front-facing camera, the smartphone is also expected to come with two front-facing camera sensors for taking selfies and video calling. It could also come with an advanced facial recognition tech.

While the exact details about the Sony’ssix rear camera setup remains a mystery at the moment, it is believed that the company will include a telephoto camera accompanied by a separate super-wide-angle alternative.

Given the recent popularity of Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensors, one of the sensors could be a candidate for the setup, while the remaining two could potentially be monochrome sensors for improved detail in low-light scenes.

Sony Xperia 1 is the company’s most recent smartphone, which comes with an impressive 4K HDR 6.5-inch CinemaWide OLED display. The display that is powered Bravia TV and Master Monitor technologies carry support for 4K resolution of 3840 x 1644 pixels and is protected by Gorilla Glass 6.

The triple camera setup present on the back panel of the phone has a 5-axis OIS Dual Pixel PDAF enabled 12-megapixel main sensor, a 12-megapixel telephoto sensor with 5-axis OIS, Dual Pixel PDAF and 2x optical zoom along with a 12-megapixel superwide lens. The handset also comes equipped with a selfie camera of 8-megapixel.

The Snapdragon 855 mobile platform fuels the phone with 6GB of RAM and 3,300mAh battery. The handset includes support for 18W fast charging through USB-C. It comes with a microSD card slot and a native storage of 128 GB. The smartphone is running the Android 9 Pie operating system out-of-the-box.

After a couple of months of the official release of Android 9.0 Pie mobile operating system, Sony has now finally announced the Android Pie update schedule for its smartphones.

While the Sony Xperia XZ3 ships with Android 9 Pie pre-installed, the company has already rolled out the latest Android version update for its Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact.

Now, the company says that some of the devices will receive the Android Pie update sooner than expected, while the schedule for other devices is on time. Sony adds that the premium devices from the company will receive the update within next few weeks.

The Android 9 Pie update for the Xperia XZ Premium, Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact will be rolled out from 26th October while the Xperia XZ2 Premium will get the Android Pie update from 7th November. However, the users of XA2, XA2 Ultra, and XA2 Plus will have to wait till 4th March to receive the latest update.

Do note that the phone’s won’t necessarily get the new update on the same day it gets released. The company has said that the software update rollout is a phased process and when you’ll receive the update depends on a number of factors, including your location and your network carrier.

After Google announced the latest iteration of its operating system, a new report has suggested that six Sony Xperia devices would get the update to Android 9.0 Pie from September to November. Now, the company has officially confirmed on its official blog which devices will update to Android 9 Pie and when it will happen. There will be six smartphones which will get the new update before each other, but unlike what the previous report suggested, the update will start rolling out in November.

The devices in question are Sony Xperia XZ Premium, Sony Xperia XZ1, Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact, Sony Xperia XZ2, Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact and Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium. In two words, we are talking about all the last two generations of flagships released by the Japanese company. It makes sense that the company decided updating its flagship before all the other handsets. After these devices, in the first months of 2019, the update will reach to the entire XA2 line-up which is composed of Sony Xperia XA2, Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra, and Sony Xperia XA2 Plus.

It was the last line-up of mid-rangers released by Sony, so it makes sense as well. If you’ve got a Sony device not from the ones listed above, you are out of luck, at least for now. Android 9.0 Pie will bring several improvements compared with the previous version, just like every major version of Android does. Among these improvements, there will surely be a longer battery life thanks to the new Adaptive Battery feature, as well as revamped graphics elements and features. There will be App Actions which will insert quick actions within the app launcher at certain times of the day basing on the user’s activities, improved notifications, Slices which will allow apps to insert themselves into the user’s searches, and more.

At the Mobile World Congress last week, Sony launched its flagship phone, Sony Xperia XZ2 along with its smaller variant Xperia XZ2 Compact. Now, a new report from China suggests that the Japan-based company is working on a new flagship device.

According to the report, the new flagship device will come with a bezel-less display as well as 4K resolution. The report further adds that the phone’s design will be based on Sony’s new “Ambient Flow” design language that the company recently talked about.

The unnamed Sony flagship smartphone is said to feature a 5.5-inch display with 4,320 × 2,180 pixel screen resolution with an 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the device will be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 845 processor — the same chipset that powers recently launched Xperia XZ2 series. The report further with at least 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage.

However, this won’t be the first mobile phone from Sony to feature a 4K display. Last year, the Japan-based company launched Xperia XZ Premium which packs a 5.5-inch display with 4K resolution with HDR support.

The company has not yet dropped any hints about another flagship phone, so take this report with a pinch of salt until more information about this upcoming phone surfaces. If the company is indeed working on another flagship device, we expect it to get launched in the second half of this year.

Recently, Sony announced its two new smartphones at the Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona — Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact. These are the first devices from the Japan-based company to feature the trendy full-screen display.

The Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact both sports 5.7-inch and 5.0-inch 18:9 displays and are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 mobile platform along with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage which is expandable up to 400GB via hybrid dual SIM slot.

The devices feature a 19MP Sony IMX400 f/2.0 sensor at the back with key features like 5-axis stabilization, hybrid laser-phase detection-contrast autofocus, and burst autofocus. On the front is a 5MP camera with f/2.2 aperture and 23mm wide-angle sensor. Just like the rear camera, it also supports the 3D creator.

Battery capacity on the Xperia XZ2 is 3180mAh with support for wireless charging while the XZ2 Compact comes with a 2870mAh battery without wireless charging support. Both phones are scheduled to arrive in late March or early April but pricing has not been revealed.

Sony, the Japan-based manufacturer which recently launched its entry-level and mid-range phones at the Consumer Electronics Show, is expected to launch a range of phone under its Sony Xperia branding this year.

While we have seen a lot of leaks surrounding Sony Xperia devices, a new phone from the company with the model number ID PY7-21831A has surfaced online as it passed through FCC. While FCC listing usually does not reveal anything about the phone, this one reveals that there won’t be a 3.5mm audio jack on this device.

If this turns out to be true, then this could be the first phone from the company to ditch the 3.5mm audio jack. As there’s very low possibility that Sony could drop the audio jack in a mid-range device, this upcoming Sony phone could be the Xperia flagship device.

The schematic image in the FCC listing reveals the use of a combined USB / headphone jack cable connection. Furthermore, the attached document also highlights the dimensions of the phone with 152.79 x 72.42 mm, and a 5.7-inch screen diagonal display. However, it is not yet known if the display carries the regular 16:9 aspect ratio of the trending 18:9 aspect ratio for full-screen displays.

Sony has confirmed that it is holding a press event at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. At the event, the company is expected to unveil its new devices, including the Xperia XZ Pro. According to the latest reports, the XZ Pro is expected to come with a 4K OLED display.

The Sony Xperia XA looks set to get a successor after one year on the throne. The Xperia XA was announced in February during the MWC 2016 and did hit the market in June. And now, ahead of MWC 2017, renders of the device had earlier surfaced in a leaked image and now in a leaked video.

The most prominent feature with which the Sony Xperia XA (2017) could be recognized is the positioning of the front-facing camera as well as the USB Type-C port that it is coming with. The Xperia XA (2017) also comes with a sleek new design all shown in the 2-minute video. The video appeared on YouTube courtesy TechLover HD and even though the device carries the model number G3121 with no name officially ascribed to it yet, we know it is the 2017 edition of the Sony Xperia XA.

The video captures the device from different angles as well as shows the display of the device while in operation. The model number, Android version as well as a January 5 security patch. The Xperia XA (2017) on display is a prototype version and it is definitive that this is the Sony flagship that we would be seeing at MWC 2017. Unfortunately, not much is known about the specifications of the device, perhaps apart from the fact that it would feature a 23MP rear camera, as captured on the video. There are indications that Sony is working on two new Xperia smartphones that might come powered by the MediaTek Helio P20 MT6757 chipset. The UAProf (User Agent Profile) specifications of both devices were recently outed by Sony giving us a vague idea of what we should expect. In case you don’t know, the UAProf specification is a set of data which captures the capability and preference information for wireless devices, including smartphones.

The devices are identified by the model numbers Sony G3112 (G31XX) and Sony G3211 (G32XX) , and even though they both are listed to have the sam processors, the display resolution is what tells us which among the two is the high-end model. One of the smartphone with model number G3112 features a display with HD resolution (1280 x 720 pixels), while the other model, which is obviously the higher one pack a display with Full HD resolution (aka 1920 x 1080 pixels).

The  Helio P20 onboard both smartphones comprise a 2.3GHz quad-core and 1.6GHz quad-core processor. There is also a Mali-T880 GPU onboard. Apart from these, there are no other details revealed on the data but the Xperia smartphones are expected to be released at MWC 2017 sporting a new name and we’ll wait to see how that pans out.

Since the Xiaomi Mi Mix concept phone pioneered the launch of phones with bezel-less display and high screen to body ratio exceeding 90%, there have been several other bezel-less phones shown to be in development like the Meizu concept phone, Huawei’s own concept device etc. But this Sony Xperia Edge concept phone design isn’t actually from Sony but is designed by designer Metti Farhang who shared it recently.

The design is said to be for a Sony device named Xperia Edge apparently because of its double curved-edge design. The concept device also comes with what is termed a triple bezel-less display with the screen edges at the top and sides having less design bezels but curving all the way to the rear. The device doesn’t seem to be curved at the bottom edge where there is a slight screen space that isn’t covered by the display. The device is designed with onscreen capacitive virtual buttons though, in typical Sony fashion.

Huawei’s own device is set for launch on December 16. The possibility that this Sony Xperia Edge concept phone design will fnd its way out is near zero since its not from the company.

New images of what supposedly is Sony’s upcoming flagship Z4 have been leaked by a source from South Korea. Looking at the images, the Z4 looks very similar to the previous flagship – the Z3 – although the edges and corners look slightly rounder. The leaked images show the power button on the right side of the device, a SIM card slot cover or volume rocker on the left side, a 3.5mm audio jack on top, and a USB port at the bottom. It hasn’t been reported whether the Z4 still uses the conventional micro-B USB port or if they’ve switched to the new Type-C port. The images also show that the front and back of the Z4 still maintain the full glass panels.

If previous leaks are accurate the Z4 will come with a 5.1-inch 1080p screen and will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor clocked at 1.9GHz, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage space. The new flagship will also retain the same 20-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front-facing camera. No information about the device’s battery life has been leaked so far but the Z4 is also reported to come with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out of the box.

Actual announcement or release dates for the Z4 are unsure as it was previously expected that Sony would reveal the new flagship during MWC 2015 last month but that didn’t happen. It is now expected that Sony will reveal the new flagship sometime in the summer.

A few weeks back, Sony officially unveiled its latest budget offering, the Xperia E4. While the device had decent specifications, it did not have 4G LTE connectivity which disappointed a lot of users. Now, it looks like the company has two more devices in this lineup, namely the Xperia E4G and the Xperia E4G Dual which adds more features to the earlier model.

Like the name suggests, the phone will bring high speed 4G LTE connectivity to the low end segment. However, that isn’t the only difference between the regular version and these models. The new Sony phones will be powered by a 64-bit MT6732 quad-core processor clocked at 1.5Ghz which will give it a better performance as compared to the earlier version. The Xperia E4 came with the old MT6582 quad-core processor.

There’s a 4.7-inch screen up front which is slightly smaller than the 5-inch 3G model but it features the same qHD 960 x 540 pixel resolution. There will be 1GB of RAM onboard with 8GB internal storage. At the back, there will be a 5MP front facing shooter, while up front, you will get a 2MP camera.The design remains more or less the same, so you get a scratch proof display, textured back panel and curved edges.

The 2300 mAh battery should be able to provide up to 12 hours of talktime and this can be further extended using Sony’s Ultra Stamina battery saving mode. Finally, the phone will run on Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS out of the box.

Sony will release the device in April this year for a price tag of 129 Euros which comes to around $144. That’s a decent price for a Sony device with such specs.

Rumors about the existence of octa-core processor smartphone from Sony just been blown up by the Chinese media. The smartphone has code name Sony Xperia Tiachi having octa-core processor with a 6-inch screen size.

The Sony Xperia Tianchi powered by MediaTek MT6592. The Sony’s 6 inch screen smartphone is also rumored to be having a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Unfortunately there is no further information regarding other related specifications of this phone.

In addition, the Xperia Tianchi will be officially introduced with the Xperia Z1S on November 22nd, held in China. And both the smartphone was going to not only be launched in China, but also will be available to the global market.

Sony Xperia Z Ultra will be introduced in Hong Kong soon, this device is packed with 6.4 inch screen size and will be hit in the Chinese market later this month.

The new models of HSPA + Z Ultra (C6802) will be priced at HKD 6198 (or around $ 800 USD), while the 4G version of (C6833) is priced slightly more expensive for HKD 6398 (around $ 830 USD) million). Previously Sony France confirms that in Europe the price has reached 729 euros ($ 965 USD).

Sony Xperia Z Ultra is a smartphone with the biggest 6.4 inches screen size. The display using X-Reality technology and Triluminous, and supports handwriting input that is compatible with a pencil, pen or stylus with a diameter of 1mm.

The handset is powered by quad-core 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800. Sports with 16GB of internal storage and has a micro SD slot. There is also 8 megapixel camera with Exmor RS sensor. Powered by 3000 mAh battery capacity. However, the overall weight of just 212 grams Ultra Z to rate fairly thin body thickness of only 6.5mm only.

Latest leak of two new Xperia devices reappeared from smasoku.mobi. Both are with the model number of the Sony Xperia SO-04E and SOL22 AU heading to NTT DoCoMo and KDDI in Japan.

The new SO-04E will be called Xperia A aka Dogo and will be launched next summer. The screen size of 4.6-inch HD resolution and is powered by the  Snapdraon 600 chipset and sports with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The battery capacity of 2300 mAh with water and dust resistant , mobile wallet, One Seg, and infrared. The gadget is expected to have a another variant that will be available for global market.

The another model will be has code SOL22 AU called the Xperia UL aka Gaga. This handset will be launched next summer with a design similar to Xperia ZL. Packs with 5 inches screen size and 1080p resolution, Snapdragon 600 chipset with 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, and a 2300 mAh battery capacity. As A Xperia, Xperia UL will feature mobile wallet, One Seg, infrared and waterproof and dustproof.

Besides the two devices, there are also rumors about Togari that will use a screen size of 6.4 inches with a resolution of 1080p. The gadget will be launched by NTT DoCoMo. Not yet known whether Togari will actually be launched later.

Sony Xperia Z and ZL are the two latest handsets introduced by Sony Mobile earlier this year. And, even though the phone is not marketed widely, a Japan-based company is rumored to have set up the latest release of the next smartphone device.

The mobile phone is called Sony C6802 recently leaked on the internet. The presence of mobile phones is shown in a test web browser using HTML5 Test. And, in these tests, it appears that this phone has a specification that is quite advanced, although not too much information about this product.

From these tests we know that this phone has a full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Not yet known the size of the screen of this phone. In addition, this phone also still using  Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system. But Google is now preparing the new Android OS 5.0 is likely to be launched this year.
