The company has already released EMUI 9 update to several Huawei and Honor smartphones in China.</p>
<p>Now, after rolling out the update in its home country, Huawei has today announced through Twitter that it will soon start rolling out the new Android Pie-based EMUI 9 to international models, including Huawei Mate 10, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-10-pro/">Mate 10 Pro</a>, P20, P20 Pro, Honor Play, Honor View 10, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-honor-10/">Honor 10</a>.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-228670 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/emui-9-global-release.jpg?x44794" alt="EMUI 9 Global Rollout" width="1024" height="512" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/emui-9-global-release.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/emui-9-global-release-300x150.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/emui-9-global-release-768x384.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>According to a few media reports, users in Singapore and the United Kingdom have already started receiving the new EMUI 9 update. The new update should soon be available to users in other regions as well. For users who are upgrading, the size of the update is about 4GB while for those who are currently on the EMUI 9 Beta, the package size is about 770MB.</p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/emui/">EMUI</a> 9.0 update brings various new changes along with all the features of Android 9 Pie. The customized skin comes with plenty of bug fixes and enhancements over the EMUI 8.0. The new user interface is better optimized for full view displays and carries additional <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ai/">AI</a>-based features.</p>
<p>It also brings the Computer Mode Version 2.0, wireless universal screen projection through Miracast, one-click screen capture, and HuaweiShare for faster file transfers, among others. There is also a new password manager capable of auto-filling passwords using ID verification from the fingerprint scanner or via facial recognition.</p>
<p>The settings menu has been trimmed down by 10 percent. It also comes with GPU Turbo 2.0 which reduces the touch response of the phone by 36 percent and adds a new app assistant. This new GPU Turbo 2.0 introduces support for four more games: Vainglory, Arena of Valor, Rules of Survival, and NBA 2K18, in addition to PUBG and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Since the update is based on <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android-pie/">Android Pie</a>, it also gets navigation gestures. Among other features, the Android Pie also comes with Adaptive Battery which makes use of machine learning technology to improve the phone&#8217;s power management.</p>

<h3></h3>
<h3>Huawei Nova 3i vs Huawei P20 Lite: Design</h3>
<p>First of all, there is a slight improvement in the design, even though <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei">Huawei</a> Nova 3i is aesthetically similar to Huawei P20 Lite. The new handset has trimmed bezels compared with its predecessor, and it is also available in gradient hues, unlike the P20 Lite. Further, Huawei Nova 3i has a glass back, while the P20 Lite has a plastic back. For the rest, it is more or less the same, but Huawei Nova 3i is definitely more beautiful and well-made than its opponent.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Display</h3>
<p>Both Huawei Nova 3i and Huawei P20 Lite have displays with a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/notch">notch</a> included, but the Nova 3i has a bigger 6.3-inch panel which may be very useful for people using the smartphone for productivity and multimedia. A 6.3-inch display is much more comfortable to use but it also results in a bigger phone. Indeed, the Nova 3i is bigger, heavier and even thicker than its opponent. Due to minimal differences in the viewing quality, I would surely pick the Nova 3i because of its bigger screen.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Huawei Nova 3i vs Huawei P20 Lite: Specs &amp; Software</h3>
<p>Under the hood, Huawei Nova 3i has more recent and powerful hardware than the P20 Lite. It has the new octa-core <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/kirin">Kirin</a> 710 chipset which is an improvement over the overused Kirin 659. So, it should provide evidently better performance. Further, it has more RAM in the most expensive configuration. There is no challenge under this point of view: Huawei Nova 3i wins.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Huawei Nova 3i vs Huawei P20 Lite: Camera</h3>
<p>Even when it comes to the camera department, Huawei Nova 3i is better, but differences are marginal. With the dual rear camera having exactly the same specs, the only difference is represented by the front camera setup which consists of a dual selfie camera (with 24 and 2 MP resolutions) for the Nova 3i and a 16 or 24 MP single camera (depending on the market) for the P20 Lite. Huawei Nova 3i can shoot more interesting selfies by detecting depth info in a more accurate way.</p>
<h3></h3>
<h3>Battery</h3>
<p>Given its bigger dimensions, Huawei Nova 3i has a bigger battery, and this means a longer battery life. It has 340 mAh more capacity and it has even the GPU Turbo technology out of the box which can provide up to 30 percent more power efficiency. On the other hand, with a smaller battery on board, the Huawei P20 Lite should charge faster as both the devices feature a fast battery charging technology.</p>
<h3></h3>
<h3>Huawei Nova 3i vs Huawei P20 Lite: Price</h3>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/07/18/huawei-nova-3i-announced-packs-four-cameras-kirin-710-soc-and-notched-display/">Huawei Nova 3i has just been launched</a>, so it is still available at a pretty expensive price. You can currently get it for €350 which roughly translates into about $407. Huawei P20 Lite is currently way cheaper and it can be found at less than €278 thanks to online street prices, which roughly translates into $323. Huawei Nova 3i is obviously the winner of the comparison thanks to its more beautiful design, its more advanced hardware, and its bigger battery. But in the actual situation, we suggest you go for the P20 Lite due to its more affordable price tag. If it is not urgent for you to get a new handset, then wait a month or so for the price of the Nova 3i to drop, and it will be worth getting it.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>GPU Turbo technology was unveiled on the day when Huawei had announced Honor Play and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-honor-9i">Honor 9i</a> smartphones in June. It is a hardware-software technology for accelerating the performance of the GPU of a smartphone. Huawei claims that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/06/06/honor-announces-gpu-turbo-a-turbocharger-for-your-smartphone-graphics/">GPU Turbo technology</a> can enhance the performance of GPU by 60 percent and at the same time it reduces its power consumption by 30 percent. It can also improve the performance AR, VR and EMUI user experience. A recent report has revealed that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mediapad-m5">Huawei MediaPad M5</a> is the first tablet from the company to receive GPU Turbo technology. The tablet is expected to receive the vital update in this month.</p>
<p>The above list does not include <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/honor">Honor</a> phones. However, a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/06/29/huawei-confirms-gpu-turbo-technology-rollout-schedule-eligible-huawei-honor-devices/">recent report</a> had revealed that some of the Honor branded smartphones will be also updated with GPU Turbo. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-honor-10">Honor 10</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-honor-9-lite">Honor 9 Lite</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-honor-v10">Honor V10</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-honor-7x">Honor 7X</a> users located in Europe, Russia, Asia Pacific, India and Middle East will be treated with GPU Turbo update.</p>
<p>Some of the recently unveiled Honor phones that come with GPU Turbo technology are <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-honor-play/">Honor Play</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-honor-10-gt/">Honor 10 GT</a>. Huawei also plans to launch a GPU Turbo optimized gaming smartphone <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/06/30/huawei-to-unveil-a-gaming-phone-with-gpu-turbo-in-h2-2018/">later this year</a>.</p>

Each month it releases its list of top 10 smartphones that offers best performance. Until the arrival of Snapdragon 845 chipset driven phones, AnTuTu’s list of best performing phones were led by Huawei Mate 10 Pro and Mate 10 that are fueled by Kirin 970 SoC. Today, the benchmarking platform has released the list of top 10 best performance smartphones between May 1 and May 31.</p>
<p>As it can be seen in the image below, the list is mainly populated by Snapdragon 845 powered phones. One should be aware of the fact that the list is not showing the highest score of each smartphone, but their average benchmarking score.</p>
<p>The list is led by Snapdragon 845 powered <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-6/">OnePlus 6</a> that has managed to salvage an impressive average benchmarking score of 274,910. The China-exclusive <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/smartisan-nut-r1/">Smartisan R1</a> that is also powered by the same chipset is sitting on the second position. It has scored 272,520 points. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-black-shark/">Black Shark gaming phone</a> by Xiaomi that includes the same SoC has scored 270,235.</p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s9/">Samsung Galaxy S9</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s9-sd845/">Galax S9+</a> that are also fueled by SD845 have respectively scored 263,218 and 262,571 points on AnTuTu. Currently, they are placed on fourth and fifth positions on the listing of best performing phones on AnTuTu in May. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S is now holding to sixth position with a score of 261,719. On seventh is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/zte-nubia-red-devil/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nubia’s Red Magic</a> gaming phone with a score of 214,904.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-194651" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/AnTuTut-Top-10-Best-Performance-Smartphones-May-2018.png?x44794" alt="" width="1231" height="630" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/AnTuTut-Top-10-Best-Performance-Smartphones-May-2018.png 1231w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/AnTuTut-Top-10-Best-Performance-Smartphones-May-2018-300x154.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/AnTuTut-Top-10-Best-Performance-Smartphones-May-2018-768x393.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/AnTuTut-Top-10-Best-Performance-Smartphones-May-2018-1024x524.png 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1231px) 100vw, 1231px" /></p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-10-pro/">Huawei Mate 10 Pro</a> with a score of 212,001 and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-10/">Mate 10</a> with a score of 211,566 are respectively placed at eighth and ninth positions. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-honor-v10/">Honor V10</a> that recorded 210,616 points sits on the last position on the list. These three phones are powered by the Kirin 970 chipset. There is no confirmation on why the list does not include the Kirin 970 powered <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-p20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Huawei P20</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-p20-pro" target="_blank" rel="noopener">P20 Pro</a> smartphones that were launched in March this year.</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-8">Xiaomi Mi 8</a> was also launched in the previous month. Since it has been made available for buying starting from this month, it is not present in the above list. During the launch of Mi 8, Xiaomi had claimed that it is the first smartphone ever to breach the 300,000 mark on AnTuTu. Hence, it seems that the top 10 list of best performing phones for June 2018 will surely have the Mi 8 ranking among the top 3 phones.</p>

One of the lines sprayed on the street reads “the renaissance is coming.” One of the ads placed on the trucks read, “a renaissance in photography is coming soon” accompanied by big-sized words like “wait” or “be patient” with AI in those words mentioned in red color to indicate that the cameras of the P20 series will rely on AI to capture impressive shots.</p>

Since the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-p20-lite/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">P20 Lite</a> is a mid-range phone, the Chinese manufacturer has already launched it separately. The upcoming launch event is reserved only for the unveiling of P20 and P20 Pro. Recent reports have revealed that P20 will be arriving with Leica engineered 12-megapixel + 20-megapixel dual rear cameras. It is speculated that one of them could be a f/1.7 aperture lens.</p>

<p>Previous leaks have revealed that the EML-AL00 is the model number of the upcoming Huawei P20 phone. Here <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/01/28/huawei-p20-variants-codenames-color-options-leaked-online/">EML stands for Emily</a>, the codename of P20. The P20 Pro is codenamed as Charlotte while the mid-range P20 Lite has a codename of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-p20-lite/">P20 Lite</a>. Hence, it is quite evident that these camera samples belong to P20.</p>
<p>The Exif details of one of the photos show that the EML-AL00 handset was used to capture the photo that was taken on Feb. 23. The images appear as it was taken using a professional camera. However, the exact configuration of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-p20-smartphone-full-specification-and-features/">Huawei P20’s</a> dual rear cameras are not known. It is expected to arrive with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/03/01/huawei-p20-series-camera-configuration-leaked/">16-megapixel primary sensor</a> with f/1.6 aperture and f/2.4 aperture lenses. It has been also revealed through the P20 teasers that the smartphone will be able to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/03/01/huawei-p20-night-shot-teaser-promises-stunning-night-shot-capabilities/">capture impressive shots in dim-light conditions</a>.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-179614 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Huawei-P20-Camera-Samples-4.png?x44794" alt="Huawei P20 Camera Samples" width="680" height="453" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Huawei-P20-Camera-Samples-4.png 680w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Huawei-P20-Camera-Samples-4-300x200.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></p>

<p>As far as other specs are concerned, the P20 is expected to arrive with an IPS LCD display that will support FHD+ resolution. <p>The P20 is pegged to arrive with a selfie camera of 24-megapixel. Well-known tipster Roland Quandt has today shared official press renders of the P20 series smartphones to reveal their design.</p>
<h3>Huawei P20 and P20 Pro</h3>
<p>The Huawei P20 flagship phone will be in colors like black, blue and pink. It features a notch enabled display and it is fitted a physical home button that is embedded with a fingerprint scanner. The back panel of the phone features vertically aligned dual rear cameras certified by Leica.</p>
<p><code id="envira_shortcode_178679">[envira-gallery id="178679"]</code></p>
<p>The P20 Pro is an advanced flagship phone that will be arriving in colors like black, blue and lilac (purple). Previous leaks have revealed that the P20 will be coming with an LCD display whereas the P20 Pro will b equipped with an OLED display. Both phones are expected to support 2280 x 1080 pixels resolution and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The Kirin 970 chipset will be powering the P20 and P20 Pro smartphones. The notch present on both phones feature 24-megapixel selfie camera, earpiece, proximity and ambient sensors.</p>
<p>The backside of the P20 Pro is flanked with Leica certified triple camera setup and a fingerprint reader. The third sensor could be an 80mm telephoto lens which means it will be able to produce almost three times more magnification. The triple camera setup may include a RGB sensor, a monochrome sensor, and a third 3x telephoto lens.</p>
<p>Evan Blass had previously claimed that the camera of the P20 Pro will deliver a maximum resolution of 40-megapixel. The images of P20 Pro show that it has f/1.6 and f/2.4 aperture lenses. On the other hand, the P20 has a f/1.6 aperture lens along with a fixed focal length of 27mm. The rear-facing cameras on both phones are equipped with laser autofocus and infrared-based color temperature sensor.</p>
[envira-gallery id=&#8221;178695&#8243;]
<p>The P20 may house a 3,400mAh battery whereas the P20 Pro may be packed with a 4,000mAh battery. Quandt claims that the manual of the P20 and P20 Pro has revealed that these handsets may not feature a microSD card slot.</p>
<h3>Huawei P20 Lite</h3>
<p>The P20 Lite is shown in colors like black, blue and pink. It will be a mid-range phone that is likely to be powered by Kirin 659 chipset. It may feature the same FHD+ 19:9 aspect ratio screen available on the P20 Pro. The images of the phone reveal that it sports thicker bezels compared to P20 and P20 Pro. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/03/12/new-photos-and-video-show-huawei-p20-lite-with-its-notch-and-an-amazing-glass-back/">backside of the phone</a> features a dual camera setup. It is also expected to feature a 24-megpixel front camera. Its dual camera setup on the rear my feature a 16-megapixel sensor and a 2-megapixel sensor. It may house a 2,900mAh battery. The P20 Lite seems to feature a glass rear while the other two models appear to be housed in metallic chassis.</p>

Today, a leakster from China has revealed that Huawei is also preparing to launch a premium flagship called Huawei P20 Porsche Design. Leaked shots of the phone reveals that it will be arriving with a different arranged triple cameras and under-display fingerprint scanner.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-177920" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Huawei-P20-Porsche-Design-Leaked-Image-1.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei P20 Porsche Design Leaked Image " width="600" height="457" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Huawei-P20-Porsche-Design-Leaked-Image-1.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Huawei-P20-Porsche-Design-Leaked-Image-1-300x229.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>Shown above is an image of the Huawei P20 Pro flagship. Its triple camera system is arranged vertically. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/02/27/huawei-p20-piano-black-glass-design-leaks-via-weibo-video/">Around a week ago</a>, a hands-on video of a very sleeking <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-p20-smartphone-full-specification-and-features/">Huawei P20</a> model was spotted. At that time, it was speculated that it could be the P20 Pro handset.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-177917" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Huawei-P20-Porsche-Design.png?x44794" alt="Huawei P20 Porsche Design" width="912" height="618" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Huawei-P20-Porsche-Design.png 912w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Huawei-P20-Porsche-Design-300x203.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Huawei-P20-Porsche-Design-768x520.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 912px) 100vw, 912px" /></p>
<p>Fresh information reveals that it could be a customized edition of P20 Pro flagship that may arrive in the market as P20 Porsche Design. As it can be seen in the images below, its triple lens is arranged horizontally. As it can be seen in the below images, an LED flash is positioned between dual cameras and the third camera. It is speculated that the triple lens setup features a wide-angle lens, a telephoto lens and a standard lens. The Leica branding can be seen at the top-right corner.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-177919" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Huawei-P20-Porsche-Design-Leaked-Image-4.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei P20 Porsche Design Leaked Image " width="586" height="1190" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Huawei-P20-Porsche-Design-Leaked-Image-4.jpg 586w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Huawei-P20-Porsche-Design-Leaked-Image-4-148x300.jpg 148w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Huawei-P20-Porsche-Design-Leaked-Image-4-504x1024.jpg 504w" sizes="(max-width: 586px) 100vw, 586px" /></p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/03/08/huawei-p20-trio-stun-in-official-renders/">official renders of the P20, P20 Pro and P20 Lite smartphones</a> that were recently leaked by popular tipster Evan Blass had revealed that allow of them are equipped with notch design like the iPhone X. The P20 Porsche Design has a very sleek design and it is difficult to make out whether it features a notch. Probably, it does not feature a notch and it has an aspect ratio of 18:9.</p>
<p>The front and rear sides of the P20 Porsche Design is made out of glass and it features a metallic frame in between. There is no fingerprint scanner on the front or back panel of the phone. This suggests that the handset may come with an under-display fingerprint reader.</p>

The rumor mill has been speculating that the advanced edition of the P20 that is rumored to feature triple camera setup may launch with P20 Plus or P20 Pro moniker. Yesterday, Android Central Executive Editor had shared an image of a billboard in Barcelona, Spain where the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 tech expo was recently held. The billboard reveals that the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/huawei">Huawei</a> will be launching P20 and P20 Pro smartphones on March 27. By this, it can be said that the advanced P20 will be hitting the market as P20 Pro, and not as P20 Plus.</p>

<p>The rough translation of the Spanish text on billboard suggests that Huawei will bring forth the rebirth of photography through P20 and P20 Pro. The Chinese manufacturer has also highlighted “IA” letters twice in the billboard. In Spanish, IA is a short form of inteligencia artificial. It indicates that the P20 and P20 Plus will deliver stellar photography experience through AI. Well, AI capabilities on Huawei P20 Huawei P20 and P20 Pro will be brought by about by Kirin 970 chipset that has a dedicated NPU unit for handling artificial intelligence tasks. <p>This morning, Huawei’s president for mobile department has released a new teaser for Huawei P20 on his Weibo account. While briefing with media at the launch event of Matebook X Pro laptop at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Huawei</a> CEO Richard Yu not only claimed that the upcoming P20 will be better than iPhone X, but also stated that the company would leapfrog Apple in a year or two.</p>
<p>Talking about the Huawei P20, he said that it will be better than the iPhone X that is priced at $999. It indicates that the Huawei P20 could be an affordable device compared to the iPhone X.</p>
<p>&#8220;We will have some very big, bold, big innovation on camera technology. It will be much much better than all the phones,&#8221; Yu said. By this he could be talking about the triple lens camera setup that is rumored to arrive on the alleged <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-p20-smartphone-full-specification-and-features/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Huawei P20</a> Plus/Pro smartphone. He further stated that, “Maybe I’m not humble, but ours is better, it’s not just a little bit better, but much better.”</p>
<p>In a short span of time, Huawei has managed to become the third-largest smartphone manufacturer in the world. Currently, Samsung is leading the pack while is holding on to the number second spot. Yu is of the view that Huawei will soon surpass Apple.</p>

The launch invitation image did not reveal the name of the product that will be unveiled on the said date, but it hinted that it may debut triple-lens enabled smartphone. By releasing a short video on Saturday, the Chinese manufacturer has confirmed that it will be launching Huawei P20 on March 27. The P20 will be taking on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/02/25/xiaomi-mi-mix-2s-launching-march-27-first-antutu-score-confirms-sd845s-powerful-performance/">Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S that will be also announced on the same date</a>.</p>
<p>Few months ago, Huawei had trademarked P11 and P20 names. Hence, there was a confusion regarding the name of the next-generation P series smartphone. The below promo video released by Huawei on Feb. 24 confirms the P20 moniker.</p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" title="STEP INTO THE LIGHT DIGITAL INVITE" width="696" height="392" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/JQEtU0CdL5c?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>The short video that only lasts for 7 seconds has three circles that suggest that it will be coming with a three-camera setup. The other hint in the video is the word “moore” that has extra letters.</p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/02/23/huawei-p20-images-appear-tenaa-reveals-iphone-x-like-notch-design-vertical-dual-cameras/">Huawei P20 was recently spotted on TENAA</a> with dual camera setup. Rumors have it that the advanced Huawei P20 Plus/Pro model would be coming with triple camera system. The images of the P20 that has appeared through its TENAA listing show that it will be coming with iPhone X-style notch design. Hence, there is a possibility that the P20 Plus/Pro may also feature the same design.</p>
<p>Huawei was previously rumored to debut the P20 series at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018. However, since it will be keeping a dedicated launch event in the coming month for P20 series, it only announced the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/02/25/huawei-launches-matebook-x-pro-super-thin-bezels/">Matebook X Pro laptop</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/02/25/huawei-mediapad-m5-tablets-powered-kirin-960-processor-announced-mwc-2018/">MediaPad M5 tablets</a> at the MWC 2018. By skipping the MWC event and launching the P20 series around a month later, the Chinese manufacturer will be able to fine tune its marketing strategy after checking the reception of the Galaxy S9 and S9+.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-175662" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-invites-us-to-see-mooore-at-a-P20-event-hints-at-a-triple-camera.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei-invites-us-to-see-mooore-at-a-P20-event-hints-at-a-triple-camera" width="680" height="453" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-invites-us-to-see-mooore-at-a-P20-event-hints-at-a-triple-camera.jpg 680w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-invites-us-to-see-mooore-at-a-P20-event-hints-at-a-triple-camera-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></p>

<p>The Galaxy S9 duo are not the only rivals for the P20 flagship. Xiaomi will be taking on the Huawei flagship by introducing the Mi MIX 2S on the same date. Do you think that the P20 Plus/Pro will turn out to be a better phone than the Mi MIX 2S? Let us know your thoughts by posting your comments below.</p>

Hence, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/02/13/huawei-p20-p20-plus-spotted-tenaa/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">EML-TL00 and EML-AL00 Huawei phones</a> that were found listed on TENAA in the previous week could be the storage/RAM/carrier variants of the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/huawei" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Huawei</a> P20. The TENAA listings did not include images or specifications of the phone. Its images had recently appeared for some time on the website of the Chinese regulatory agency, but they are no longer available now. However, we managed to get those images before they were removed. As far as specs of P20 variants are concerned, they have still not appeared on TENAA yet.</p>
<p>As it can be seen in the above images, the Huawei P20 features a blue colored metallic body. The device sports a full screen design with a home button at the bottom and a notch at its top. The fingerprint sensor could be embedded in the home button whereas the notch seems to be housing a selfie camera and another sensor.</p>
<p>The left side of the phone is barren, and its right side features a volume rocker and power key. The backside of the phone is curved towards the edges. It features a vertically arranged dual camera setup and below it is the LED flash and Leica branding. The company’s branding can be found at bottom-left of the rear panel.</p>

<p>These <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/02/22/huawei-p20-multiple-live-shots-reveal-surprising-design/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">images are way different from the leaked photos of a prototype of P20</a> that appeared yesterday. This suggests that there may be multiple prototype of P20. However, the images that have appeared on TENAA could be the final design of the phone.</p>
<p>The new images of the P20 resembles with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/02/08/huawei-p20-lite-appears-real-skin-multiple-images-looks-really-tempting/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">photos of the P20 Lite</a> that have <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/02/16/alleged-huawei-p20-lite-real-images-leaked-fcc-listing/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">appeared on FCC</a>.  This suggests that the entire P20 series may feature iPhone X like notch design with vertical dual rear cameras. The specifications of the P20 are likely to be revealed soon as the TENAA listings of EML-TL00 and EML-AL00 are expected get updated with their images and specifications in the near future.</p>

In the previous month, a Spanish site had revealed several leaked shots of a prototype of the upcoming P20 Lite smartphone. Today, Android Authority has shared multiple live images of a prototype of Huawei P20.</p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/02/08/huawei-p20-lite-appears-real-skin-multiple-images-looks-really-tempting/">Huawei P20 Lite prototype</a> sported an iPhone X-like notch enabled design. Hence, the Huawei P20 that is speculated to feature better specs than the P20 Lite was also expected to feature an iPhone X-style design. However, the images of the prototype of the Huawei P20 have revealed that it won’t be resembling the iPhone X.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-174899" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-prototype-leak-3-768x433.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei-P20-prototype" width="768" height="433" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-prototype-leak-3-768x433.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-prototype-leak-3-768x433-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-174896" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-Prototype-Screen-bottom.png?x44794" alt="Huawei-P20-prototype" width="971" height="546" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-Prototype-Screen-bottom.png 971w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-Prototype-Screen-bottom-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-Prototype-Screen-bottom-768x432.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 971px) 100vw, 971px" /></p>
<p>The leaked images show that the upper and lower bezels of the P20 are slimmer than the predecessor P10 smartphone. Its sides are almost non-existent. The left edge of the phone is barren whereas the right side features a Power key.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-174897" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-Prototype-Left-Edge.png?x44794" alt="Huawei-P20-prototype" width="971" height="548" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-Prototype-Left-Edge.png 971w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-Prototype-Left-Edge-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-Prototype-Left-Edge-768x433.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 971px) 100vw, 971px" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-174898" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-prototype-leak-1-768x433.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei-P20-prototype" width="768" height="433" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-prototype-leak-1-768x433.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-prototype-leak-1-768x433-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<p>There are no physical volume buttons on the phone. Instead, it seems to feature some sort of touch indicators above the power key that can be swiped up and down for controlling volume.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-174893" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-Prototype-Rear-Bottom.png?x44794" alt="Huawei-P20-prototype" width="970" height="546" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-Prototype-Rear-Bottom.png 970w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-Prototype-Rear-Bottom-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-Prototype-Rear-Bottom-768x432.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 970px) 100vw, 970px" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-174900" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-prototype-leak-7-768x433.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei-P20-prototype" width="768" height="433" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-prototype-leak-7-768x433.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-prototype-leak-7-768x433-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<p>The back panel does not feature a separate camera housing like the P10. Also, it does not feature the rumored triple lens system. The Leica certified dual camera setup blends with the rear panel of the P20. The edges of the back panel are more rounded than P10 which indicates that the smartphone will offer better grip.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-174902" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-prototype-leak-12-768x433.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei-P20-prototype" width="768" height="433" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-prototype-leak-12-768x433.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-prototype-leak-12-768x433-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>

<p>The publication has learned through its source that the P20 may arrive in regular and Pro variants. The regular model may feature dual camera setup whereas the Pro/Plus model may house <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/02/21/huawei-p20-plus-triple-camera-sensor-revealed-close-different-arrangement/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">triple camera module.</a></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-174901" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-prototype-leak-8-768x433.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei-P20-prototype" width="768" height="433" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-prototype-leak-8-768x433.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-prototype-leak-8-768x433-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-174891" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-Protoype-Bottom.png?x44794" alt="" width="968" height="546" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-Protoype-Bottom.png 968w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-Protoype-Bottom-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-Protoype-Bottom-768x433.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 968px) 100vw, 968px" /></p>
<p>As it can be seen in the above images, the bottom edge of the P10 (device placed on the right) features an external speaker, a USB-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack. The prototype of the P20 features a pair of external speakers with a USB-C port placed in between. There is no confirmation on whether the extra speaker is functional. The handset does not feature a 3.5mm audio jack. The source of these photos did not reveal any information on the specs of the phone.</p>

<p>The front view of the alleged P20 Lite shows that it features a notch that could be housing the selfie camera and earpiece. The notch is not as big as the one seen on the iPhone X. This could be because the Huawei device may not be featuring a complex facial recognition feature that is available on the iPhone X.</p>
<p>The Huawei branding is not seen on the device. Instead, the device features “Shirley” branding on its chin and rear side. This could be a strategy to hide the actual brand name of the phone. The back panel features a vertically aligned dual camera setup at the top-left corner. Below the camera module is the LED flash and “<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/02/08/huawei-p20-lite-appears-real-skin-multiple-images-looks-really-tempting/">DUAL LENS hybrid zoom</a>” text which can be also seen on the recently leaked photos of P20 Lite.</p>
<p><code id="envira_shortcode_id_173807">[envira-gallery id="173807"]</code></p>
<p>The right side of the handset seems to feature the volume rocker and power key. The bottom side appears to feature a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB-C port and an external speaker.</p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/01/24/huawei-p11-launch-postponed-avoid-clashing-galaxy-s9-s9-mwc-2018/">P20 Lite is slated to get unveiled</a> alongside the P20 and P20 Plus flagship phones. It is likely to feature a 5.8-inch IPS LCD display with FHD+ resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels, Kirin chipset, 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB of native storage, Android 8.0 Oreo and 3,000mAh battery. It is speculated that the P20 Lite would be <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/02/14/upcoming-huawei-nova-3e-sport-specs-huawei-p20-lite/">launching as Huawei Nova 3e in certain markets</a>.</p>

The Huawei P20 Lite has been recently certified by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/02/07/huawei-p20-lite-schematics-key-details-leaked-fcc-data/">Federal Communications Commission (FCC)</a> in the U.S. The alleged Huawei P20 and P20 Plus smartphones have appeared on TENAA, a telecom regulatory body from China.</p>
<p>Well-known tipster had confirmed in the previous month that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-p20-smartphone-full-specification-and-features/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Huawei P20</a>, P20 Plus and P20 Lite are respectively codenamed as <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/01/28/huawei-p20-variants-codenames-color-options-leaked-online/">Emily, Charlotte and Anne</a>. The recently listed EML-TL00 and EML-AL00 on TENAA could be the carrier variants of the upcoming Huawei P20. Here “EML” probably indicates the Emily P20 smartphone. Also, the CLT-AL00 and CLT-AL00 could be carrier variants of the Huawei P20 Plus. Here “CLT” may stand for P20 Plus.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-173188" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20_TENAA.png?x44794" alt="Huawei P20_TENAA" width="557" height="346" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20_TENAA.png 557w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20_TENAA-300x186.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20_TENAA-540x335.png 540w" sizes="(max-width: 557px) 100vw, 557px" /> <img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-173187" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20__TENAA.png?x44794" alt="Huawei P20__TENAA" width="556" height="352" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20__TENAA.png 556w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20__TENAA-300x190.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 556px) 100vw, 556px" /><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-173185" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-Plus__TENAA.png?x44794" alt="Huawei P20 Plus__TENAA" width="553" height="347" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-Plus__TENAA.png 553w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-Plus__TENAA-300x188.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 553px) 100vw, 553px" /><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-173186" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-Plus_TENAA.png?x44794" alt="Huawei P20 Plus_TENAA" width="553" height="348" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-Plus_TENAA.png 553w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Huawei-P20-Plus_TENAA-300x189.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 553px) 100vw, 553px" /><br />
As of this writing, the alleged listings of Huawei P20 and P20 Plus on TENAA do not contain images and specifications. However, the appearance of these phones on TENAA indicates that their images and specs will be revealed in the next few days.</p>
<p>If EML and CLT phones respectively refer to Emily P20 and Charlotte P20 Plus smartphones, there could be another listing for ANN – Anne P20 Lite phone. None of the Huawei phones that have recently surfaced on TENAA have “ANN” in their model number.</p>

<p>TENAA has two other Huawei phones with model numbers ATU-AL10 and ATU-TL10. There is no confirmation on whether these phones could be the variants of P20 Lite or some other Huawei phone.</p>
