OnePlus Nord may not be the only OnePlus mid-ranger arriving this year. A recent report revealed that the Chinese firm may launch two more mid-rangers this year. One of them could be codenamed as Billie. The Billie device was spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking platform recently. A mysterious OnePlus phone labeled as Clover has made its way on Geekbench. It seems to be the other Nord branded mid-range phone for this year.

As per the Geekbench 5 listing, the OnePlus Clover smartphone is driven by the dated Snapdragon 660 chipset and 4 GB of RAM. The device is loaded with Android 10 OS. In the single-core test of Geekbench 5, the OnePlus Clover scored 336 points. It recorded 1495 points in the multi-core test.

If the OnePlus Clover is a real device and not a fake listing on Geekbench, it could end up as an entry-level phone from the brand. It could be positioned lower than the OnePlus Billie phone that was spotted with a 5G-ready Snapdragon 690 mobile platform.

According to Chinese media, Coolpad has silently revealed a new smartphone called the Coolpad N11. The smartphone found listed on the official website (Chinese version) of the company with some of its key specs. The handset is expected to go on sale soon in China.

The images available on the Coolpad’s website reveals that the display has a punch-hole at the top-left corner. Except for the chin, the other three bezels appear quite slim. Hence, it appears that the phone will offer users with a high screen space.

The Coolpad N11 draws power from a 4,000Ah battery. It is unclear whether the phone supports rapid charging. The Snapdragon 660 chipset is present under the hood of the device. The top-left corner of the rear shell of the phone has a triple camera setup and an LED flash.

A fingerprint scanner is also available on the backside of the Coolpad N11. The phone can be seen in black color. It may also come in other color editions. The other specs of the Coolpad N11 are not known yet. Also, the company is yet to confirm on the pricing and availability of the N11 smartphone.

HMD Global may soon announce a new Nokia smartphone. Live photos, as well as specs of the phone which has model number TA-1198, surfaced on the web this week. While you may not be pleased with the choice of the processor inside the phone; the design, particularly the rear, is quite different.

The Nokia TA-1198 has a waterdrop notch, not a first for HMD Global, but slightly different from that of the Nokia 4.2. Even with the notch design, the phone’s bezels are a bit thick. The specs put it in the mid-range category, so HMD isn’t gunning for appearance per se.

The rear is where the excitement is. The Nokia TA-1198 has triple rear cameras. However, rather than stack them up vertically like on the Nokia X71, they are arranged in a circular housing similar to that of the Moto Z series. The three sensors share the housing with the LED flash. Below the setup is a fingerprint scanner.

Coming to the specs, the Nokia TA-1198 runs Android 9 Pie as seen in one of the photos and has June’s security patch installed. A system info app, DevCheck, running on the phone reveals there is a Snapdragon 660 processor under the hood. When the phone launches, it will be HMD Global’s third Snapdragon 660 smartphone after the Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia X71.

The app reveals the phone has a 2340 x 1080 resolution and 410 ppi. It also packs a 3500mAh battery. In another photo, we see the phone can take 48MP photos which means one of the triple rear cameras is a 48MP sensor. The phone has its power button and SIM tray on the right side. There is no photo of the left but that’s definitely where the volume rocker is.

If we were to take a guess regarding the official name of this phone, it will be the Nokia 6.2. The Nokia 6.1 (Nokia 6 2018) has a Snapdragon 630 processor while the Nokia 6.1 Plus (Nokia X6) is powered by a Snapdragon 636 chipset. It won’t be unusual if the next-gen model gets the Snapdragon 660 processor.

The Nokia TA-1198 will most likely launch first in China before making its way to other markets. However, whenever that will be, remains unknown.

Xiaomi India has launched a new smartphone called Redmi Note 7S. The Chinese firm wanted to bring a 48-megapixel photography experience at a cheaper price. Hence, it has introduced the Redmi Note 7S with 48-megapixel dual camera with an attractive starting price of Rs. 10,999 (~$158). It also includes some other interesting features such as a big battery with support for 18W rapid charging and a display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7S Specifications and Features

The Redmi Note 7S borrows the 6.3-inch IPS LCD panel featuring a dot notch from the Redmi Note 7 and Note 7 Pro smartphones. It offers full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. When it comes to design, the front and rear sides of the Note 7S is fitted with Gorilla Glass 5 panels.

The Snapdragon 660 SoC fuels the Redmi Note 7S. It comes in 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage editions. Both models are equipped with hybrid SIM slot for adding a microSD card. The image of the yesteryear Nokia N71 phone on the right side of the smartphone suggests that the company has planning to the launch the X71 with a similar name.

Nokia X71 Specifications

The leaked image has confirmed some of the key specs of the Nokia X71. The smartphone will be arriving with a 6.4-inch IPS LCD display with punch-hole that offers full HD+ resolution of 1080p. As the Geekbench listing of the phone had revealed in the previous week, the Nokia X71 is driven by Snapdragon 660 SoC and 6 GB of RAM.

The triple camera setup of the Nokia X71 features a 48-megapixel primary sensor along with 2-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors. A 3,500mAh battery will be powering the device. The handset will be an Android One and it is very likely to run on Android 9 Pie OS. The detailed specifications of the phone are still under the wraps.

There are confusing reports surrounding the Nokia X71’s international variant. Some reports have claimed that it may debut as Nokia 6.2. Earlier in this week, a purported email from HMD Global to some dealers in Taiwan had revealed that it will be launching a smartphone named Nokia X71 in Taiwan on April 2. Some reports claimed that it could be launching as Nokia 8.1 Plus outside of Taiwan. However, some reports that it could be arriving as Nokia 6.2 in international markets. A new leak that that surfaced today suggests that the Nokia X71 may go official as Nokia 6.2 in global markets.

Previous reports had claimed that the upcoming Nokia 6.2 (also known as Nokia 6 2019) could be codenamed as TAS which stands for Taishun. Two screenshots of FIA OTA tracker of Nokia X71 and Nokia 6 (2019) that appeared on China’s Baidu recently show they are both codenamed as TAS. This indicates that these devices are same device.

The purported email from Finnish firm had revealed that the smartphone would be arriving with a triple camera setup with 48-mgeapixel sensor and 120-degree wide-angle lens. It also stated that the phone would be arriving with a punch-hole display. It is also expected to carry support for 18W rapid charging. Earlier today, the Nokia X71 smartphone was spotted on Geekbench with specs like Android 9 Pie OS, 6 GB of RAM and Snapdragon 660. Contradictory reports from the past have claimed that the Snapdragon 632 could be powering the smartphone.

HMD Global has a new phone coming called the Nokia X71. It is scheduled for release on Tuesday, April 2. The phone has now made an appearance on Geekbench and the benchmark result reveals some key details.

The Nokia X71 was benchmarked yesterday. It runs Android 9 Pie which is no surprise. This is HMD Global we are talking about and as far as I know, no manufacturer has a track record as great as theirs when it comes to regular updates.

What is interesting about the Nokia X71 is its processor which is revealed to be the Snapdragon 660. This is the same chipset that powers the Nokia 7 Plus and it is paired with 6GB of RAM. However, the scores are lower than that of other Snapdragon 660 phones like the Nokia 7 Plus or the Mi 8 Lite. Geekbench listings are easy to fake these days, so take this with a grain of salt.

There are reports the Nokia X71 is actually a successor to the Nokia 6.1/Nokia 6 (2018). If this is so, then the Snapdragon 660 is fitting since the Nokia 6.1 is powered by the Snapdragon 630. The original Nokia 6 launched with a Snapdragon 430 processor.

Redmi Note 7 has been available in 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage, 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage models in China. A new variant of the phone featuring 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage has been silently made available for purchase on the official online store of Xiaomi in China.

The Redmi Note 7v was unveiled on Jan. 10 in China. A week after its launch, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun had carried out a poll on Jan. 18 to find out which variant of the Redmi Note 7 is popular among the fans. Interestingly, the poll also included some unreleased variants such as 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage. The poll had revealed that the 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage was most desirable model.

On the very same day, the TENNA telecom authority had certified the 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage model for the Redmi Note 7 which indicated that Redmi may announce it soon. Finally, the new variant has been made available for purchase. As it can be seen in the below screenshot, the 4 GB + 128 GB Note 7 is now available for purchase with a price tag of 1,499 Yuan (~$223).

The new model costs 100 Yuan more than the 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage. The other two variants such as 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage are respectively priced at 999 Yuan (~$149) and 1,199 Yuan (~$179).

The Redmi Note 7 features a waterdrop-style notch screen of 6.3 inches. It carries support for full HD+ resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The glass rear of the phone features a fingerprint scanner and a 48-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera setup. It is equipped with a 13-megapixel selfie snapper. It houses a 4,000mAh battery to keep the lights on. The handset supports 18W fast charging through USB-C.

Redmi will be debuting the Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi 7 smartphones in China on March 18. OPPO K1 is the newest smartphone to go official in India. It is the very same phone that was announced in China in October last year. The USP of the smartphone is that it is a mid-range phone that comes equipped with an in-display fingerprint scanner. It has landed in India with a starting price of Rs. 16,990 (~$237).

OPPO K1 Specifications and Features

The Oppo K1 features a metallic frame sandwiched between the front and rear glass. The phone features an AMOLED screen of 6.4 inches. There is no information available on the pricing of the Note 7 Pro. The highest configuration variant of the Note 7 that features 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage carries a price tag of 1,399 Yuan (~$207). The Redmi Note 7 that has gone official in China today is the first smartphone after the separation of Redmi brand from its parent company Xiaomi. Last year, Xiaomi had released the Redmi 6A, Redmi 6 and Redmi 6 Pro smartphones in China, but it had skipped the Redmi Note 6 handset probably because it featured similar specs as the Redmi Note 5 phone. Unlike the Note series predecessor models, the Redmi Note 7 has arrived with a premium glass body. It offers an impressive screen space through its waterdrop notch display. Also, the smartphone is equipped with a 48-megapixel rear camera.

Design and Display

The glass-bodied Redmi Note 7 measures 159.21 x 75.21 x 8.1mm. Redmi claims that the Note 7 features a “rock solid and diamond-like” durable body. The handset is fitted with 2.5D Corning Gorilla 5 glass panels with additional 0.8mm thickness on its front and rear. To protect it from breaking easily, the company has strengthened its four corners and the “microcrack” edge polishing process has increased the sturdiness of the device. Hence, the drop protection performance of the glass build of the Note 7 is four times stronger than competing glass.

The Note 7 is the first dustproof and water-resistant Redmi phone. However, the company did not confirm on the IP rating of the phone at its launch. The buttons and ports of the smartphone have been specially treated to protect it from water damage. It is the first Redmi smartphone to arrive in attractive color gradient choices.

The 6.3-inch screen of the Redmi Note 7 produces 19.5:9 aspect ratio and full HD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. The display carries support for 450-nits brightness, 1,500:1 contrast ratio, sun legibility and eye protection mode. The size of its side bezels is reduced to 1.95mm. Also, the chin of the device is not very thick.

Performance

The Snapdragon 660 chipset from last year is the driving force of the Redmi Note 7. The handset comes in 32 GB and 64 GB storage choices. Both models are equipped with up to 6 GB of RAM. At the launch event, Redmi compared the performance prowess of the smartphone with OPPO K1. It revealed that the Snapdragon 660 powered Note 7 scored 144,599 on AnTuTu benchmarks whereas the OPPO K1 and Vivo X23 driven by the same SoC respectively scored 133,961 and 128,616. Redmi claims that the Note 7 even outscored the Kirin 710 powered Honor 8X smartphone in AnTuTu benchmarks.

The Redmi Note 7 has a dedicated microSD card slot for expanding its storage. The latest MIUI 10 based Android 9 Pie OS comes preloaded on the Redmi Note 7. The tipster has claimed that he is unsure whether the company will be announcing other devices alongside the Redmi Note 7. If the Note 7 is indeed launching tomorrow, the M1901F7T, M1901F7C and M1901F7E models that were recently certified by TENAA authority could be its network variants.

The TENAA listing has revealed that the handset measures 159.21 x 75.21 x 8.1mm. It is equipped with a 6.3-inch display with waterdrop notch. It carries support for full HD+ resolution. Xiaomi will be debuting a new Redmi smartphone with 48-megapixel camera on Jan. 10. Since Xiaomi is yet to confirm on the name of the phone that will be announced in this week, the rumor mill is speculating it could be announcing the Redmi 7 or Redmi 7 Pro or Redmi Pro 2. The Redmi Note 5 Pro that was unveiled at the beginning of 2018 was powered by Snapdragon 636. The newly spotted Geekbench listing of the Redmi Note 7 reveals that the Chinese manufacturer will power it with a better chipset. Through Geekbench listing it has been revealed that the Snapdragon 660 SoC and 6 GB RAM will be driving the Note 7. The handset will be preinstalled with Android 9 Pie OS.

In the single-core test of Geekbench, the Redmi Note 7 has scored 1462. In the multi-core, the smartphone has recorded 4556 score. The Xiaomi Mi Note 3, Mi A2 (Mi 6x) and Mi 8 Lite are the Snapdragon 660 chipset powered smartphone from the company. And now, the company could be prepping up the Redmi Note 7 as its next Snapdragon 660 chipset powered phone.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro that was released in India was made available as Redmi Note 5 in China. Xiaomi did not launch the Redmi Note 6 Pro smartphone. Now that the Geekbench listing of the Redmi Note 7 has appeared, it seems that the company may skip the Note 6 handset. The Redmi Note 7 may land outside of China as Redmi Note 7 Pro. Unfortunately, there are no other details available on the specifications of the smartphone. However, there is a possibility that the company may cut down on the size of the display of the smartphone by including a waterdrop notch enabled screen on it. Xiaomi hasn’t teased any features of the Redmi Note 7 yet which suggests that the handset may not be announced at the Jan. 10 event.

The Redmi Note 5 Pro launched with Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box and later got an upgrade to Android 8.1 Oreo about six months ago. Its latest major update brought MIUI 10 but still based on Android Oreo to it. It appears its next major update will be to Android 9 Pie.

We found a couple of Redmi Note 5/Redmi Note 5 Pro phones running Android 9 on Geekbench today. This can only mean Xiaomi is working on an update that brings Android Pie to the phone. When it eventually arrives, it will be the second major Android OS update for the phone which isn’t a common occurrence for Xiaomi phones.

The Redmi Note 5/Redmi Note 5 Pro running Android Pie wasn’t the only thing we found on Geekbench today. We also saw a version of the Redmi Note 5 Pro with a Snapdragon 660 processor. The Redmi Note 5 comes with a Snapdragon 636 processor and even its successor, the Redmi Note 6 Pro is powered by the same processor, so this version with an SDM660 chipset is a first of its kind.

This doesn’t seem to be an error on Geekbench’s part as the base frequency matches those of other Snapdragon 660-powered phones like the Mi 8 Lite and the Mi A2. However, its scores are lower. This version of the Redmi Note 5 Pro also has 3GB of RAM and runs Android 8.1 Oreo.

Last year, a new smartphone manufacturer entered into the Indian phone market. 10.or or Tenor is actually a Chinese company but its phones are currently only available in India. Its first phone, the 10.or G which was announced last year may soon get a successor as a phone benchmarked as the 10.or G2 has been spotted on Geekbench.

The Geekbench result shows that the 10.or G2 will be a mid-range smartphone like its predecessor. The 10.or G2 was benchmarked yesterday and the result says it has a Snapdragon 660 processor. Unfortunately, that info is incorrect.

The first thing that gives it away as not being the Snapdragon 660 is the base frequency which is lower than that of other SDM660-powered phones. The core scores are also lower. The 10.or G2 is actually powered by a Snapdragon 636 processor which is actually a reasonable upgrade over the 10.or G’s Snapdragon 626.

This isn’t the first time Geekbench has incorrectly identified the chipset in a phone. Another phone incorrectly benchmarked as having a Snapdragon 660 processor instead of a Snapdragon 636 processor is the HTC U12 Life. See the benchmark result below.

The benchmark result also reveals it runs Android 8.1 oreo. Not the latest but seeing as the 10.or G launched with Android 7.1 Nougat and is upgradeable to Android 8.0 Oreo, we want to believe an update to Android Pie will be made for the 10.or G2 when it is announced. The RAM has also been upped to 6GB. There is a chance there will be a 4GB RAM version and maybe even a 3GB RAM version.

The 10.or G launched with dual rear cameras, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner stereo speakers and a 4,000mAh battery. Hopefully, its successor retains them. However, what we don’t want to see are those huge bezels which pretty much died in 2017. A switch to an 18:9 or higher display is what we are expecting the 10.or G2 to have.

ASUS has already confirmed that it will be launching the ZenFone Max Pro M2 smartphone in Indonesia on Dec. 11. The key specs of the smartphone have been already leaked. Through a new tweet, the Indonesian wing on Asus has claimed that the upcoming M2 phone is the “Real Pro” smartphone. The tweet also carriers a render of the smartphone.

The new image confirms that the ZenFone Max Pro M2 will be equipped with a notched screen. The notch houses the front camera and some other sensors. LG Q9 is the next Q-series smartphone from LG. The exact launch date of the Q9 has not been confirmed yet. Fresh set of LG Q9 renders have surfaced today to give a close at its design. Some of the key specs of the phone have also leaked through its Google Play Console listing.

The mere look at the LG Q9 phone reveals that it is identical to the LG G7 Fit smartphone that was announced at IFA 2018 tech expo in September. The handset seems to be featuring a metallic rear and it features a notched screen on the front. The bottom edge of the phone is equipped with a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB-C port and an external speaker.

LG has never released a phone powered by Snapdragon 660 before. Previous reports had claimed that it could be the first LG phone with Snapdragon 660 chipset onboard. However, the Google Play Console listing of the smartphone reveals that it is fueled by Snapdragon 821. The LG G7 Fit is driven by the same chipset. Hence, it appears that the LG Q9 could be rebranded version of the LG G7 Fit smartphone.

The LQ Q8 that was launched last year was powered by Snapdragon 820. Hence, it appears that the Q9 may indeed feature Snapdragon 821. The Google Play Console listing of the LG Q9 also reveals that it features 4 GB of RAM and its display supports a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels along with a screen density of 420 dpi. The handset is preinstalled with Android 8.1 Oreo OS.

A recent report had revealed some of the other key specs of the LG Q9 smartphone. It revealed that the phone is equipped with a display of 6.1 inches. The report did not reveal the name of the processor that powers the Q9, but it confirmed that it includes 4 GB of RAM. The other features available on the LG Q9 are fingerprint scanner and NFC. The above render shows that the Moto G7 Plus will be featuring a waterdrop notch screen like the Oppo F9 Pro and Vivo V11 smartphones. The predecessor Moto G6 Plus had featured an 18:9 aspect ratio. The chin of the G7 Plus is slightly thick compared to the side bezels. Still in comparison to the predecessor model, the G7 Plus seems to offer higher screen-to-body ratio.

The Moto G7 Plus is expected to arrive with a 6.4-inch display that will produce FHD+ resolution. The notched screen will allow the handset to offer an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. It could be fueled by Snapdragon 660 chipset or the more powerful Snapdragon 710 chipset. It may feature up to 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of storage.

For photography, it is likely to arrive with 16-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera setup. The handset could be equipped with a 3,500mAh battery. The company may release it with Android 9 Pie OS preinstalled.
