Likely Meizu Pro 7’s Camera Sample Photo Shared By Senior VP

Meizu continues to tease its upcoming flagship model ahead of its launch which rumour says is coming up later this month. We have seen a lot of renders of the Pro 7 that we already have our fill of the design and just want to have the chance to see if the hardware is as powerful as the design. Perhaps, a benchmark test would suffice in that regard but we’ll have to wait a little longer. Instead of a benchmark for the Helio X30 the device would feature, the latest detail seems to be a sample photo shot by the Pro 7.Meizu Pro 7

The photo was shared on Weibo recently by Meizu’s new VP Jeffery Wang and he did not in any way hint at the camera with which the photo was shot. But one major tip that got us suspecting this is the Pro7’s photo is that the phone the Meizu VP was using was listed by Weibo as “Meizu phone”. Now, Weibo usually displays the exact smartphone or device posts were sent it from n but in this case, the only thing displayed is “Meizu phone”. This could be as a result of the model not being recognised since it is a new one that is yet to be released.Meizu Pro 7

In addition, the photo contains one feature that makes it unlikely to be shot by the Pro 6s, Pro 6 Plus or earlier Meizu flagship models. That feature is a blurred background captured in a manner that suggests a dual camera setup at play. The Meizu Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus are expected to feature a 12MP Sony IMX386+ 12MP Sony IMX286 sensors at the back while there will be a 16MP front-facing selfie camera up front. The dual cameras are capable of capturing such crisp clear photo with a focus on the subject, thus blurring the background. The Pro 7 is also expected to be the first smartphone to launch with MedaTek’s Deca-core Helio X30 chip and that could also contribute to the amazing shot captured. But then, we can’t be so sure if this was actually shot by the Pro 7. Since it was shared on Weibo, there is no way to check the EXIF data of the photo.

Images of Nokia 9 Cases Leak, Shows Vertical Dual Cameras and Curved Design

Everyone is looking forward to HMD Global unveiling its  flagship device, the Nokia 9. We have seen the device appear on benchmarking sites and even live images although wrapped up in a case. It is said to have even gotten its FCC certification, so we believe a launch isn’t far off.

Today, we have images of cases for the Nokia 9 and they do reveal a number of features, some which we already know. The cases come in different colors but the design is the same.

[envira-gallery id=”139974″]

There is a cut-out for dual cameras at the back in a vertical position and that’s about all there is on the rear. The case shows the power button and volume rocker will be on the right and the audio jack will be at the top.

The bottom of the phone is where the USB type-C port and primary microphone are placed. There is a single cut-out flanking the charging port on the left and that is definitely for the speakers.

Yes, we believe the Nokia 9 will come with stereo speakers just like the Nokia 6. The Nokia 6 has its speakers on one side and it appears HMD is using the same design for the Nokia 9. The case also reveals the phone will come with rounded corners.

New Xiaomi Phone With 6GB of RAM and 4000mAh Battery Launching on July 11, Mi 6 Plus?

The first part of the year was exciting for Xiaomi. First, they announced a ceramic white version of the Mi MIX at CES 2017, then they launched the Redmi Note 4X, the Redmi 4X and threw in more variants of both devices. The highlight was the launch of the Mi 6, the first flagship of the year. We should also not forget the Mi Max 2.

To begin the second half, Xiaomi has a new device set for launch on Monday, 11th of July and we are really excited about it. The official Weibo account for Xiaomi’s Store had released a new poster teasing the device by releasing a key detail. That key spec is the RAM which is a massive 6GB.

Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus 6GB RAM

Now, this isn’t Xiaomi’s first phone with 6GB of RAM. The Mi 5s Plus, Mi Note 2, Mi MIX and Mi 6 all come with that amount of RAM. However, we are still excited because Xiaomi is advertising it as a big deal for this mysterious device.

Following the teaser poster, the account also released a very short video releasing more key specs and that is where things get more interesting.

The video reveals the processor belongs to the Snapdragon 800 series, storage is UFS and RAM is DDR4. It also says the phone has a 3D glass body and the display is large. Next bit of info is the battery which comes in at 4000mAh and the camera which is 22MP, can record 4K and has a smart beauty mode.

The video doesn’t end there but also mentions full 4G netcom, a USB Type-C port with support for Quick Charge, an IR blaster, and NFC.

All these specs point at a flagship phone and we want to believe this is the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus. The video already mentioned a bigger screen and bigger Battery. Plus it also says it will have a 3D glass body, a key feature of the Mi 6.

Huawei P20 Moniker Trademarked; Reportedly Arriving with Kirin 960 Before 2017 End

Huawei P10 and P10 Plus flagship smartphones were unveiled a few months ago and the Chinese firm seems to be working on improved version of P10 Plus. Reliable sources have revealed on Weibo that Huawei P20 would be launching before year 2017 comes to an end as the company has allegedly trademarked Huawei 2 moniker.

Various sources on Weibo have revealed that the Huawei P20 will be enhanced version of Huawei P10 Plus because of which it is speculated to launch before the end of the year. Huawei P20 is speculated to be driven by Kirin 960 chipset and the handset will be made available in 6 GB and 8 GB RAM options. It will be sporting a 5.7-inch Quad HD display that will be delivering a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels.

The display is speculated to be curved on it left and right sides. It will be fueled by a 4,000mAh battery. It is rumored to include dual rear cameras that will be coupled with features like image stabilization and HDR.

Since the Huawei P10 had launched in February, previous rumors had claimed that the Huawei P20 would be coming in Q1 2018 driven with Kirin 970 chipset. However, newer rumors are claiming that it would be featuring Kirin 960 chipset. Since Huawei P20 is supposed to arrive as a flagship phone with greatest specs, it seems unlikely that that the P20 would be launching with Kirin 960 this year.

Huawei is heavily pegged to debut the Huawei Mate 10 flagship this year in October and it is expected to be the first smartphone from the company to come with Kirin 970 chipset. The HiSilicon Kirin 970 chipset is homegrown 10nm SoC from Huawei that is rumored to feature eight cores of Cortex A73 along with Mali-G71MP12.

The Mate 10 is speculated to feature a 6-inch display that will produce a resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels as it is rumored to support an aspect ratio of 18:9. It is also rumored to feature 3D sensing camera and the flagship is also expected to offer AR capabilities. Since the Huawei Mate 10 is rumored to break cover in October, it is unlikely to release another powerful phone like Huawei P20 with Kirin 960 to disturb the sales of Mate 10.

Sony Plans To Release 3 New Walkman Later This Year

A long time ago, if you owned a Sony Walkman, you were a cool kid or probably the coolest kid on the block. Then the iPod came and it changed the way we listened to music, killing all other portable music players.

Sony kept the Walkman name by including it in some of its smartphones when it still partnered with Ericsson. The Walkman series is still alive as Sony has now fully embraced digital music.

Sony Walkman NW-A35

The Japanese company has released a number of digital audio devices under the name and even a pair of bluetooth earphones. This year Sony launched the NW-A35 Walkman, a portable Hi-Res digital player that fits into your pocket. New reports says it is adding three more later this year.

The new Walkmans are the NW-A45, NW-A46, and the NW-A47. All three of them have passed through the FCC already.

The FCC sheet doesn’t reveal much but the main difference among the three is the built-in storage. The A45 will have 16GB, the A46 doubles that to 32GB, and the A47 maxes out at 64GB. So, if you say the A45 is the base model and the other two are only storage variants, you are correct.

Sony Walkman NW-A45

Another info the source revealed is that the new models will feature bigger batteries than the NW-A35 released in February. For your information, the A35 has 45 hrs of playback time. The NW-A35 also comes with NFC and Bluetooth for connectivity, so expect them in the new models too.

Oppomart Lists Early iPhone 8 Cases Following Design Change

iPhone 8 Case
iPhone 8 Case

Oppomart has appeared listing iPhone 8 cases amidst the growing coverage of rumors of what may be Apple’s next iPhone lineup.

The online retailer has listed three initial items, all which appear to be rugged cases for the new iPhone.

All the cases coincide with the current design features, leaked from Foxconn’s factories, that the ‘iPhone 8’ is supposedly going have; this includes the notable removal of the dedicated home button and finger print sensor at the front the device with an ‘all-display’ screen (with the case covering the bezels of the phone), effectively removing the prominent top and bottom bezels the iPhone has been known to have.

The cases also show the change in the dual-camera orientation on the rear of the device, coincided with other rumored changes with the iPhone.

iPhone 8 Case

RELATED: Exclusive Images of iPhone 8 Cases Confirms Vertical Dual Rear Cameras

From the day of publication, OppoMart has listed the cases as currently ‘out-of-stock’.

Apple has kept the pattern of releasing a new iPhone design every other year after the new installment, thus making the potential release of an iPhone 8 to be unusual. Other speculators have suggested that Apple may be changing up its routine on the iPhone series, however so far concrete evidence is lacking at this moment in time.

If the rumors are true of a design change, this may indicate that an iPhone 7 and 7s’ line could be skipped in this circumstance, leaving us wondering about the lifespan of iPhone 7 and 7s’ third-party accessories manufacturers. Will Apple release an ‘updated’ iPhone 7 variant if they introduce iPhone 8, providing an extended life span for accessory makers or will the downgrade the predecessor like all others will smaller internal storage?

What are your thoughts of Oppomart’s early accessory listing? Do you think this was a premature approach? Share your comments down below.

Jia Yueting Resigns As Chairman of LeEco Few Months After Stepping Down As CEO

LeEco is facing very difficult times at the moment. Things seem to be getting worse for the Chinese company with respect to its debts.

Jia Yueting; Image Source: macrumors

The latest news is the resignation of Jia Yueting as the Chairman. A few months ago, he had resigned from his position as CEO of Leshi Internet and Technology Corp. A few days ago he also had his assets frozen as they were used as collateral for some loans.

It is important to clarify that Leshi Internet and Technology Corp. is different from Leshi Holding Co.. The former is a public company and the one that Mr. Yueting resigned from as CEO and Chairman. Leshi Holding Co. is the private arm that deals with its phones, TVs, and automobile arms.

LeEco’s woes seems to have started since its failed attempt at entering the American market. Jia Yueting himself had admitted that their expansion plan was too rapid.

Video Render Of Meizu Pro 7 & Pro 7 Plus Leaks Showing All Aspects

Meizu Pro 7 isn’t a new entrant into the news, the flagship has been the subject of dozens of leaks which has not only revealed its likely specifications but also gifted us with the possible renders of the device. One thing that has been consistent is the renders of the Pro 7 which has shown the device sporting both a front and rear display.  The renders of the Pro 7 has once again leaked, this time around in a video clip that is the product of a collaboration between Twitter tipster OnLeaks and tech blog Compareraja.Meizu Pro 7

The video seems to be an unofficial render produced using CAD gotten from Meizu’s factory. The 22-seconds clip shows the Pro 7 and its sibling, the Pro 7 Plus in 360 degrees, giving us a view of all aspects of the device. The video supports earlier claims that the Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus will only be different from each other in size, design-wise. While the Pro 7 Plus will come in at 5.7 inches in display size, the Pro 7 will have a 5.2-inch display.Meizu Pro 7 Plus

Meizu Pro 7 is expected to be the first smartphone to launch with MedaTek’s Deca-core Helio X30 chip and that is almost confirmed. There are talks of a high-end model with 8GB of RAM and with the growing trend of 8GB RAM-packing flagships, that could become a reality. In addition, both the Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus are tipped to feature a 12MP Sony IMX386+Sony IMX286 sensors at the back. Successive render images have consistently captured the dual lens camera setup the Pro 7 and  Pro 7 Plus will come with. The front camera is said to have a 16MP sensor. The Pro 7 models will come clutching a Titanium alloy body and will have a ring flash with 10 LEDs at the back. Meizu Pro 7 Plus

One interesting feature the Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus are tipped to feature is the USB Type-C which will be a 24-pin USB connector system that would help both devices to become a host or a device. It can adopt either role depending on what is detected at the other end. These types of ports are called Dual-Role-Data (DRD). When two such devices are connected, the roles of a host or a device can be randomly assigned. A swap can be commanded from either device. Meizu Pro 7

The Meizu Pro 7 Plus price was also leaked and should start at around $500 USD (around 3299 Yuan). The 6GB RAM+128GB storage version is expected to be priced at $550 (around 3599 Yuan). The topmost model with 8GB RAM + 128 GB storage is said to be priced at $580 (~3799 Yuan). On the other hand, the Pro 7 is tipped to start at  $410 (~2799 Yuan) and that price is expected to go as high as $560 (~3299 Yuan) for the higher variant. Of course, these are all rumoured prices that could be nowhere near the final price the Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus will be launched with. Here’s the video below for your viewing pleasure.

IFA 2017: Lenovo Schedules August 31 For Keynote Event

Lenovo has announced that its IFA 2017 keynote will hold on the 31st of August. IFA Berlin actually starts on the 1st of September and runs through to 6th but. it is not unusual to see manufacturers hold their product launches a day or two before it commences.

Lenovo IFA 2017

It is unclear what Lenovo will be announcing at the event but there are rumors of new products under the Yoga line. We are not so sure about any mobile phone for now but there is a chance some newly announced models will be on display. We might even be lucky to see some new Moto Mods too.

Some also say we may get new Lenovo branded phones. Although the Chinese giant keeps saying that it isn’t ditching Lenovo Mobile in favor of Motorola or Moto, recent activities have proved otherwise.

Nokia 3310 (2017) Putin-Trump Summit

A few days ago, there was a rumor circulating that Samsung was planning to release a mini version of the Galaxy S8. New reports say otherwise and there are a couple of reasons for the Galaxy S8 Mini not getting made.

Galaxy S8 Mini

First, it has been a couple of years since Samsung launched a Galaxy S Mini phone and that alone made us skeptical about the S8 Mini. The major reason according to the source is the difficulty in producing the curved OLED panels for the phone. It seems making the infinity display isn’t as easy as we thought it was.

The second reason is said to be the limited success of the Mini line and that is why Samsung stopped making it in the first place.

The Galaxy S8 Mini was rumored to have a smaller 5.3-inch display, a Snapdragon 821 SoC, 4GB of RAM and a lesser price tag. Now, all that is just wishful thinking.
