Today, Nokia took to Weibo to officially announce the Nokia X7 update equipped with the November Security patch and some other fixes in China. The same update was halted a few days ago when some users reported bricking of devices after updating to the November security patch. It seems now the bugs have been stabilized, and Nokia has again started to roll out the update to Nokia X7 aka Nokia 7.1 Plus in China.

As per the official changelog, the new update carries camera optimizations which will improve the image quality. As like of the Huawei and Pixel, Nokia is also implementing its function to make night shots more attractive. There is some change in the AI experience of the device by improving the camera scene recognition feature. There are many fixes and stable patches which will improve the overall fluency and stability of the device. It will also enhance its capability to handle the applications.

Nokia also said that the same update would be rolled out to other models shortly. Users who faced problem while installing the same update can now install it without any hitch. The HMD Global has stabilized it by fixing the bugs in the update.

Nokia X7 aka Nokia 7.1 Plus carries a 6.18 inch LCD having a resolution of 2246×1080 pixels. Its display supports intelligent AI features, with 86.5% of screen-to-body ratio and supports DCI-P3 color gamut display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC coupled with a 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB internal storage. Users can even expand its storage by means of microSD card of 128 GB. It supports 18W fast charging which takes around half an hour to fill its 3500 mAh battery. The phone retains a 3.5 mm audio jack and supports dual 4G VoLTE with Type-C USB.

Further, it runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and is soon expected to receive the latest Android 9.0 update. In the camera department, it carries 12 megapixels + 13-megapixel dual cameras with f/1.8 aperture. It hosts Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), AI features, dual-core focus, dynamic photos, etc. On the front, Nokia has added a 20 megapixel shooter for selfeis equipped with AI beautify.

A Nokia phone with model number TA-1136 has appeared on the website of Bluetooth SIG. The device I would personally pick is Xiaomi Pocophone F1 with its €300/$342 global price (appr.), a wonderful hardware side, and a long-lasting battery. But if you care about having a good design and a great camera, then you should not grab a unit of this device and choose Nokia 7.1 Plus or Lenovo Z5 Pro instead, which carry a price tag of about €300/$342 and €250/$285 respectively (in China).

The Nokia X6 launched globally as the Nokia 6.1 Plus and the Nokia X5 is sold outside China as the Nokia 5.1 Plus. Following this trend, it means the global variant of the Nokia X7 should go by the Nokia 7.1 Plus, right? Wrong!

A few days ago, a device called the Nokia 8.1 was seen on Geekbench. We were a bit disappointed to learn that the successor to the Nokia 8 will come with a mid-range processor and not the Snapdragon 845. It turns out that that the Nokia 8.1 is the global version of the Nokia X7.

The decision to change the name was made by Juho Sarvikas, chief product manager at HMD Global according to a tweet by @Nokia anew. The account claims they were informed of the name change by unnamed sources.

Further explanations by Phonearena reveal HMD Global is converting the Nokia 8 series into an upper mid-range series while the Nokia 9 PureView will be the company’s flagship model scheduled to launch early next year.

Nokia anew said in another tweet that the Nokia 7.1 Plus still exists but it won’t launch until next year. It will most likely be powered by the Snapdragon 670 processor. The Nokia 8.1, on the other hand, will launch before the end of the year.

It is able to enrich the colors as well as converting content from SDR to HDR in real time. This display is the one with the best viewing quality but it is slightly smaller compared to Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite and Huawei Mate 20 Lite, and it allows the body of the phone to be smaller as well.

Specs & Software

Nokia X7 has the best display and also the best hardware department. It features the most powerful processor by Qualcomm if we do not count the 800 series. We are talking about the Snapdragon 710, an octa-core running at frequencies up to 2.2 GHz. It is the successor of Snapdragon 660 found on the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite and it is way more powerful than Kirin 710. You will soon be able to get a Nokia X7 with up to 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.

Camera

Nokia X7 is the winner even in the camera comparison, at least for the paper and for the rear camera setup. It features a bright aperture and Carl Zeiss optics, it supports dual pixel autofocus and it even has optical stabilization. We could not expect more from a midrange-class camera. When it comes to the front camera, the winner is instead the Huawei Mate 20 Lite with its dual setup which should detect depth info in a better way. However, we will have to test Nokia X7 personally to confirm these assumptions.

Battery

With a capacity of 3750 mAh, Huawei Mate 20 Lite has the bigger battery, so it is supposed to last more than its opponents. But HMD Global is used to optimize the battery of their phones very well, so it might be that Nokia X7 will achieve similar results with its 3500 mAh unit. So, for now, we do not have a winner as Nokia X7 is still not on the shelves.

Price

Nokia X7 will soon land in China with a price starting from €212, Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite starts from €175 and Huawei Mate 20 Lite costs €300 (in the more powerful 6/64 GB configuration). Given its specs on the paper and its value for money, currently I would pick Nokia X7 and for me, it is the winner of the comparison.

The Nokia X7 smartphone is equipped with a notched screen and it is fueled by Snapdragon 710 chipset. The ZEISS branded dual cameras at the backside of the smartphone. It has arrived in China with a starting price of 1,699 Yuan (~$245) .

Nokia X7 Specifications and Features

The Nokia X7 that measures 154.8 x 75.7 x 7.97mm features a series-6000 magnesium alloy frame sandwiched between glass panels on the front and rear sides. The handset possesses a 6.18-inch IPS LCD screen. The notched display offers 18.7:9 aspect ratio and FHD+ resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels. The other features of the display of the Nokia X7 are 86.5-percent screen space, 96-percent NTSC color gamut, DCI-P3 color gamut, HDR video playback, 1500:1 contrast ratio and 500nits of brightness. The Nokia brand name can be seen on the bottom bezel of the device.

The notch of the smartphone houses a 20-megapixel selfie camera, an earpiece and other sensors. Moving to the backside of the phone reveals its vertically aligned dual camera system. The new leak also reveals the pricing and release date of the Nokia X7.

Just as the TENAA listing had revealed, the new leak states that that the Nokia X7 would be coming with a 6.18-inch TFT LCD screen. The notched display will produce Full HD+ resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels. A 20-megapixel camera and an earpiece are housed inside the notch of the Nokia X7. The company’s brand name can be seen on the bottom bezel of the phone.

The Snapdragon 710 chipset that includes a 2.2 GHz octa-core processor will be fueling the smartphone. According to TENAA, the smartphone will be coming in two RAM and storage models such as 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage. Just as we reported, HMD Global didn’t announce the Nokia 7.1 Plus yesterday, instead, we got the Nokia 3.1 Plus. However, there is one more Nokia event holding in China on October 16 and there is a high chance the Nokia X7 (Nokia 7.1 Plus) will be announced there.

HMD Global has sent out a series of invites that reveal details such as the venue and time of the launch. They have also released a bunch of posters that tease some features of the phone.

The invite says the event is for a new Nokia phone among their 2018 Autumn release. It will hold at the popular jazz club, Blue Note, which is located at No. 23, East Qianmen Street, Beijing. The event will begin at 1600hrs local time.

The teaser poster, on the other hand, confirm the phone will have a Snapdragon processor, an AI camera features with automatic scene detection, stereo speakers at the bottom, and a USB Type-C port. Don’t be bothered about the lack of an audio jack at the bottom of the phone, it is most likely at the top of the phone just like the Nokia 7 Plus.

The Nokia X7 has been in the news for a while. It was expected to launch last week as the Nokia 7.1 Plus in London but instead, we got the Nokia 7.1. There were speculations it would launch today at the Nokia event holding in India but just yesterday we learned the event is for the Nokia 3.1 Plus. There is still one more event holding in China on October 16 and it remains to be seen if it is for the launch of the Nokia X7.

While we await the official unveiling, the device has been spotted on Geekbench. The benchmark result confirms some of the rumored specs of the phone.

The result reveals the Nokia X7 is running Android 8.1 Oreo. It is powered by the Snapdragon 710 as expected and it has 6GB of RAM. Its single-core score is 1827 points and its multi-core score is 5937 points. The scores are similar to that of other devices with the same chipset such as the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE.

HMD Global has a new phone launching in India tomorrow. Most sites, including us, presumed it is for the launch of the Nokia 7.1 Plus but a new leak has revealed it is a different phone entirely – the Nokia 3.1 Plus.

An image showing the retail box of the phone has surfaced on the web and it also lists the specs of the device.

The Nokia 3.1 Plus will sport a 6-inch display with a 1440 x 720 resolution. It is a big upgrade from the Nokia 3.1‘s 5.2-inch HD+ screen which explains the Mega Display teasers. It also doesn’t have a notch.

The box also reveals the phone will come with a 13MP + 5MP dual camera combination on its rear. The image of the phone on the box shows the cameras are lined-up vertically and share the same housing with the LED flash. Right below the camera setup is a fingerprint scanner.

The Nokia 3.1 Plus will be powered by an unnamed octa-core processor, probably from MediaTek, and will have a 3,500mAh battery. The phone will run stock Android since it is an Android One phone like its siblings. However, we expect it to come with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with a promised update to Android 9 Pie in future.

The Nokia 7.1 also features ZEISS branding between the two cameras present on its rear. Unlike the upcoming Nokia phone, the Nokia 7.1 has the LED flash placed below the dual camera module. Also, it appears to be the very same Nokia TA-1131 smartphone that was certified by TENAA around two weeks ago.  Hence, it is now being that the Finnish firm may announce the Nokia X7 smartphone on Oct. 16.

The Nokia X7 teaser image reveals that it will impress the audience with low-light photography prowess. Rumors have it that the Nokia X7 will be featuring a 6.2-inch display that will carry support for full HD+ resolution. The Snapdragon 710 chipset is expected to power the smartphone. It may arrive in two models such as 64 GB storage + 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage + 6 GB RAM. The handset may include a 3,400mAh battery and it may arrive with Android 8.1 Oreo OS preinstalled.

There is no information available on the pricing of the Nokia X7. The 32 GB storage + 3 GB RAM and 64 GB storage + 4 GB RAM editions of the Nokia 7.1 were introduced with respective pricing of $349 and $400. The Nokia X7 is expected to debut with Nokia 7.1 Plus moniker outside of China. HMD Global will be holding a launch event in India tomorrow. Last week, HMD Global launched a new smartphone – the Nokia 7.1. A lot of people were disappointed at the specs since it is practically the Nokia 6.1 Plus with Carl Zeiss cameras lens and Nokia’s “PureDisplay” technology as upgrades. It appears the manufacturer has another phone it plans to launch soon, one that may placate these angry fans and one with a “Mega Display”.

The official Twitter account of Nokia Mobile India posted a tweet about a device coming soon. That tweet seems to have been deleted as we couldn’t find it on their page. Nevertheless, the guys at MySmartPrice have a screenshot of the tweet and also uploaded the video to YouTube.

The tweet includes a six-second video which shows the silhouette of a phone at the end. Only the back of the device is visible but we can make out a dual camera system. The video also includes captions that say “To see the bigger picture” and “A mega display is coming”.

There have been guesses about the device Nokia is teasing. The most common one is that it is the Nokia 7.1 Plus. The Nokia 7.1 Plus was expected to launch alongside the Nokia 7.1 but it didn’t. Seeing as this device is being advertised as sporting a large display, it makes sense that it is the successor to the Nokia 7 Plus.

The Nokia 7 Plus is the phone with the biggest display in HMD Global’s current lineup with its 6.0-inch screen. It won’t be unusual for its successor to have a bigger screen as part of its upgrades.

According to a TENAA listing of a phone said to be the Nokia X7 which is the Chinese variant of the Nokia 7.1 Plus, the phone has a 6.18-inch screen with a 2246 x 1080 resolution. It also has a 2.2GHz octa-core processor, 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of storage. The dual cameras on its back are a 12MP sensor and a 13MP sensor while a 20MP sensor sits in front. Unfortunately, it packs a 3400mAh battery which is smaller than the Nokia 7 Plus’ 3,800mAh battery.

The Nokia phone is scheduled to launch on October 11.

HMD Global, the Finnish company behind the Nokia branded smartphones, has sent out media invites for a launch event scheduled to take place on 11th October in India.

While the company has not mentioned which device is plans to launch, it’s believed that HMD Global is planning to launch the Nokia 7.1 and the Nokia 7.1 Plus (aka Nokia X7) in the Indian market. It’s noteworthy that both the smartphones are expected to launch globally on 4th October.

The Nokia 7.1 Plus is rumoured to feature a notched display, just like the Nokia 5.1 Plus and the Nokia 6.1 Plus. On the other hand, the Nokia 7.1 is expected to come with a normal display, without any kind of notch.

The Nokia 7.1 could feature a 6-inch screen that will carry support for an aspect ratio of 18:9. It is rumoured to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 processor along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

It’s bigger variant, the Nokia 7.1 Plus, is also speculated to be driven by Snapdragon 710 12nm chipset, coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. We are also expecting a bigger display and higher capacity battery for the Plus variant.

Both the smartphones will be a part of Google‘s Android One programme, and thus, there’s a possibility that the phones could be running the latest Android 9.0 Pie operating system out-of-the-box.

A new Nokia phone with a model number of TA-1131 has received approval from the TENAA Chinese authority. The TENAA listing of the TA-1131 does not feature its images, but its entire specifications have been listed. The specifications of the smartphone suggest that it could be the Nokia X7 smartphone for China. Outside of China, the handset is likely to debut as Nokia 7.1 Plus.

According to the TENAA listing of the Nokia X7, it measures 154.8x x 75.7 x 7.97mm and weighs 185 grams. Its color variants are red, silver and blue.

The handset is fitted with a 6.18-inch display that produces Full HD+ resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels. The screen resolution of the phone indicates that it features a notched display.

The Nokia TA-1131 is powered by an octa-core processor that clocks at 2.2 GHz. The handset is heavily speculated to arrive as the first Nokia phone with Snapdragon 710 chipset. The 64 GB edition of the smartphone features 4 GB of RAM and higher 128 GB variant has 6 GB of RAM.

The back panel of the Nokia X7 features 12-megapixel + 13-megapixel dual camera setup. The front notch includes a 20-megapixel selfie shooter. The handset is preinstalled with Android 8.1 Oreo OS. The phone is fueled is by 3,400mAh battery. The other features of the smartphone are microSD card slot and fingerprint scanner.

A recent report has revealed that HMD Global is prepping up to debut Nokia 7.1 and Nokia 7.1 Plus smartphones on Oct. 4. The Nokia 7.1 is expected to arrive with a notch-less screen whereas the 7.1 Plus will be equipped with a notched display. Like the recent Plus models from the company, the Nokia 7.1 Plus is expected to release as Nokia X7 in China. Freshly leaked hands-on photos of a new Nokia phone has surfaced today. Since the images only reveal the rear side of the phone, it is difficult to identity whether it is a Nokia 7.1 and Nokia 7.1 Plus.

The new images reveal that the handset is equipped with a glass rear and a metallic frame. It features vertical dual camera setup followed by a fingerprint reader on the upper half of the rear panel.

In the above image, the alleged Nokia X7 can be seen in silver white color. The rear design of the phone is not very different from the Nokia X6. The vertical dual camera setup did not sit flush on the rear of the phone. The images shown below suggest that the handset will be also arriving in a new copper brown color.

Few hours ago, HMD Global confirmed that it will be launching a new smartphone on Oct. 4.  Rumors are rife that the Finnish firm will be debuting Nokia 7.1 Plus smartphone on the said date. Yesterday, My Smart Price had shared a render of the upcoming Nokia 7.1 Plus phone. Today, the same publication has collaborated with popular tipster @OnLeaks to share the 360-degree renders of the smartphone.

The CAD renders of the Nokia 7.1 Plus show that it features a notched screen and a thick bottom bezel which includes the branding of the company. The backside of the phone is expected to feature a glass panel. It will be fitted with vertical dual camera setup followed by an LED flash. The ZEISS branding can be seen between the dual sensors. A fingerprint scanner is also present on the rear side of the Nokia 7.1 Plus. The bottom edge of the Nokia 7.1 Plus features a USB-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The handset measures 149.8 x 71.2 x 8mm which indicates that it could be equipped with a 5.8-inch LCD display. The notch of the phone seems to house a front-facing camera, an earpiece and some other sensors. Previous leaks have suggested that the Nokia 7.1 Plus will support an aspect ratio of 19:9 and Full HD+ resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels.

HMD Global is now gearing up to unveil a new smartphone in the coming month. The Finnish firm has started sending out invites for the upcoming launch event. As the invite reveals, the HMD Global will be introducing a new smartphone on Oct. 4. The launch event will begin at 5:00 PM and it will be held at Central London.

Nokia fans are eagerly waiting for the company to announce the Nokia 9 flagship phone that is speculated to arrive with penta-lens system. However, a recent report has revealed that its arrival has been delayed as the Finnish firm is reportedly planning to announce it at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 tech expo that will be held in February next year. There is no information available on the specifications of the Nokia X7. Nokia announced the Nokia 7 Plus in February this year and the model came out with a bang. It recently won the best “Consumer Smartphone” award from EISA in Europe alongside the Honor 10 and Huawei P20 Pro. This is as a result of its superb price to performance ratio. While the model is still selling hot, Nokia seems to be planning to up the ante by releasing the Nokia 7.1 Plus. The supposed photo of the rumoured Nokia 7.1 Plus has appeared in a couple of leaks recently but this latest leaked render appears to show a different design. The earlier ones showed the Nokia 7.1 Plus will not have a notch but in this case, the device features a notch display.

The renders as shared by MySmartPrice showcases both the front, rear and side design of the device. At the front, it shows the device will come with a notch display design. The design is very much similar to that of the Nokia X6 which is also called Nokia 6.1 Plus. This model may also launch in some market as Nokia X7 but with the X6 dropping in July, we don’t see the rationale behind Nokia launching a successor this year.

The rear deisgn also looks very similar to the Nokia 6.1 Plus but a few differentials can be seen. One of such is the ZEISS badge at the middle of the dual cameras. The rear also houses a fingerprint sensor but the accented ring which borders the sensor on the Nokia X6 is missing.
