Xiaomi is expanding its presence in the Indian market with a strategic partnership with Blinkit. The tech giant is collaborating Blinkit to bring gadget deliveries that just take a few minutes to reach the customers. So here’s everything you need to know.

To recall, the Chinese tech giant announced that it has partnered with this service to deliver its Mi Air Purifier 3 model in minutes in select Indian cities. Now, it seems like it is expanding this partnership to include other products. For those unaware, Blinkit is a popular online platform in India that lets users buy everyday items like groceries and more with delivery times often times not taking longer than 10 minutes.

In an official post on X, Xiaomi announced the partnership stating that the ultra-fast delivery experience will now include more gadgets. This includes 11 tech products from the company. These will range from power banks that range from 10,000mAh to 20,000mAh in capacity, data cables, Xiaomi Grooming Kit, 33W SonicCharge 2.0 fast charger with Cable, and a Xiaomi Smart Air Fryer.

The company already has listings for the Xiaomi Trimmer 2C, along with the Xiaomi 4 Lite Air Purifier and Mi Air Purifier 3 with True HEPA Filter. At the moment, it is unclear which cities will get the entire list of all Xiaomi products. But this announcement confirms that you can get your hands on these in just around 10 minutes (depending on where you live). Xiaomi keeps surprising the tech community, time and again. This time, the Chinese smartphone colossus, has entered into a partnership with Padget Electronics, a subsidiary of Dixon Technologies. Although Xiaomi downplayed the news, describing it as merely “a continuation,” there’s more to it than meets the eye.

The deal struck between the two companies centers around Padget Electronics assembling Xiaomi smartphones in its facility located in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. While this deepens Xiaomi’s roots in Indian soil, it also lends credence to the Indian government’s ambitious ‘Make in India’ initiative. Atul B Lall, Dixon’s vice-chairman, hailed the partnership as a “major milestone” for the project aimed at bolstering domestic manufacturing.

So why is Xiaomi so modest about the new deal? The reason lies in Xiaomi’s already substantial Indian operations. Padget Electronics is but one of five contract manufacturers the company has in the country. The alliance, then, isn’t a game-changer but rather a calculated move to reinforce its standing in what is the world’s second-largest smartphone market. Xiaomi currently holds about 15% of India’s smartphone market, trailing behind Samsung and Vivo.

Another layer to this story is the wider shift of electronics brands looking to spread their manufacturing wings outside of China. India’s incentive schemes to promote local manufacturing have been successful in drawing international players like Xiaomi and Apple. Padget itself has received grants from a government program that aims to ramp up telecom and networking product manufacturing.

While both Xiaomi and Padget benefit from this deal, the real winner could be the ‘Make in India’ program. With each such partnership, India strengthens its position as a global manufacturing player, even as it negotiates the complex terrains of royalty payments and foreign investments. Is this new deal a monumental shift? Not really. But it’s another solid step for both Xiaomi and India’s evolving role in global tech manufacturing.

XPENG and Volkswagen recently announced that they will be entering into a new agreement. The companies are aiming to form a long-term strategic partnership, which will even bring new battery-powered electric vehicles as well.

The Chinese EV maker is entering into a deal with one of the world’s biggest automobile manufacturers. These two companies are partnering up to leverage each other’s strengths and forge a long-term collaboration that is beneficial for both sides. With this strategic deal, XPENG and Volkswagen Group will also jointly develop two B-class battery electric vehicles (BEV) models for sale in the Chinese market.

B-class stands for small to mid-size cars and these will be sold in China under Volkswagen’s branding. Meanwhile, the EVs will also leverage XPENG’s G9 platform, connectivity, and ADAS software. The two BEVs are expected to start production in 2026. Apart from just building new cars, the partnership explores potential strategic cooperation in other areas as well. This includes new software technologies, future EV platforms, and supply chains.

For the agreement, XPENG and Volkswagen entered into a share purchase agreement, which will be approximately 700 million US Dollars. According to Mr. Ralf Brandstätter, Volkswagen AG Board Member for China, local partnerships are key to building its ‘in China for China strategy’. Forming strong cooperation will help speed up its plans for expansion in the region.

The music group has now created the audio for the Glyph Composer on the Phone (2), allowing users will be offered the ability to personalize and remix custom sounds offered by the Swedish House Mafia.

In the video teaser, we can see that tapping on the different pads not only lights up different parts of the LED Glyphs on the back but even offers unique new sounds from the collaboration. Meaning, you can basically create your very own Glyph Ringtone. Notably, this feature is not limited to the Phone (2) and will also be offered to the Phone (1) once Nothing OS 2.0 drops later in August 2023.

Interestingly enough, the teaser also offers us hints at the rear design of the Phone (2). The rear Glyph design features a slight change and the corners of the upcoming device are flatter than its predecessor. Thanks to the continued partnership, next gen Sony smartphones ranging from the mid range and flagship models will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon platform. Furthermore, the deal isn’t exclusive to a simple chip order as both firms will also work together in innovation in mobile technology. In other words, they aim to improve the overall user experience and push industry standards with new technology. Notably, this announcement also arrives a a report from earlier this month, which confirmed that Huawei is not getting Qualcomm’s 5G chips.

The joint collaboration also confirms the close integration of Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets in future Sony smartphones. Samsung Electronics‘ Harman had revealed a bunch of new in car technologies under its “Ready” branding during the CES 2023 event. Now, the company has announced that its Ferrari will be its latest partner for its Ready Upgrade technology.

Harman has just entered into a partnership with Ferrari and will offer its Ready upgrade hardware and software suit to the known automobile maker’s in-cabin experience for its vehicles. Basically, the brand’s customers will now gain access to update and personalize features and services at any time “similar to a smartphone.” At the moment, various car manufacturers have partnered up with mobile brands and other as they have had difficulties in keeping up with changes in technologies and security features outside of their specialty.

Thus, Harman ready Upgrade is an innovative software and hardware technology that would enable efficient in car updates that would help improve the vehicles life cycles and shorten the development cycle for car manufacturers. Apart from the collaboration, Harman also announced that it is now the In-Cabin Experience Team partner for Scuderia Ferrari. There was apparently a time when Apple and Facebook were planning on joining hands despite their building friction over the years. The two companies were supposedly planning on launching a new subscription under a new partnership.

According to a new report from Wall Street Journal, the two tech giants had plans for a revenue sharing subscription plan. Back in WWDC 2020, Apple had announced that it would require apps to ask users to opt in to cross app advertising tracking. In response to this, Facebook was openly against this decision and spent months speaking out against this plan. However, it appears that prior to this announcement, the two firms were planning on a partnership and revenue sharing agreement.

The two company were considering a new subscription service that would offer an ad free version of the popular social media platform. Out of the subscription fee, the Cupertino based giant would receive a cut of the revenue. This would include subscriptions and in app purchases, which would have been a great agreement for the iPhone maker. Apparently, the deal might have even included Apple receiving a cut for promoted posts as well, which is basically the amount paid to Facebook for boosting the page to a larger audience.

These boosted posts are a large past of Facebook’s advertising portfolio. However, Apple claimed that this transaction should be treated to the 30 percent revenue cut it receives, since its an in app purchase. On the other hand, Facebook argued that its advertising products will not be subject to the revenue cut. These talks reportedly took place sometime between 2016 and 2018, so its likely that the deal is definitely off by now.

OnePlus has announced a new marketing partnership with UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) for the latest Nord series smartphone available in the United States, which is dubbed the OnePlus Nord N20 5G.

It appears that with such a partnership with UFC, the OPPO-backed company is looking to deepen its presence in the United States or the North American market. The company says that the partnership will promote making 5G services more affordable and accessible in the North American region.

The OnePlus Nord N20 5G was launched in the United States a couple of weeks ago as an entry-level 5G smartphone. Priced at under $300, it is one of the cheapest 5G phones available in the US but it is currently being sold exclusively through T-Mobile and Metro.

With this new marketing partnership, the OnePlus brand will be exposed to a wide range of audiences, which could result in the company signing deals with other carriers in the country for expanding its presence.

Being an Offical Marketing Partner of UFC, the OnePlus brand will appear in key UFC assets, including broadcast features on select Pay-per-Views and custom and original content that will be distributed across official UFC social media, channels, and digital platforms.

The OnePlus Nord N20 5G features a 6.43-inch AMOLED display and comes powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor. It packs 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage with support for a microSD card slot to expand the storage capacity. Xiaomi has today officially announced its partnership with Leica, under which the company has been developing a new smartphone that is set to launch in a couple of months.

The Chinese company confirmed its “long-term strategic cooperation” with Leica and has revealed that they have been co-developing a flagship smartphone which will be officially launched in July this year.

This marks the fourth company Leica has collaborated with for mobile imaging after Sharp, Huawei, and Panasonic. However, Xiaomi has not revealed anything related to the upcoming flagship smartphone.

Given that the phone is set to launch in a couple of months, we expect it to come powered by the recently announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, has said that the partnership will provide a strong boost to the company’s imaging strategy without revealing the details.

Xiaomi appears to be following the footsteps of other Chinese brands to offer a distinguishing feature on its flagship or premium smartphone to make it stand out among devices from other brands.

The trend was started by Huawei in 2016 when the company partnered with Leica for the camera features on its flagship smartphones. OnePlus and OPPO have also teamed up with Hasselblad, while Vivo has partnered with Zeiss.

While the company has not revealed, the upcoming smartphone is likely to be the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, and if the rumors are anything to go by, then the device appears to be packed with features compared to other premium phones.

Xiaomi-backed brand Redmi has today officially announced a partnership with the Mercedes-AMG F1 team. The company says that Mercedes will serve as the exclusive mobile phone partner to explore extreme performance.

The announcement also hints that there will be a Redmi K50 Mercedes F1 smartphone getting launched which is likely to be a limited edition model. Currently, not much is known about this upcoming device.

The company is also gearing up to launch the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition smartphone in the Chinese market and it’s highly likely that the Mercedes F1 Limited Edition device could be a variant of the Gaming Edition launching on 16th February.

Based on the leaks, the Mercedes Edition smartphone will come with the iconic color scheme of the Mercedes F1 cars, including a grey-colored back panel with black triangular elements around the mid-section of the back panel. Two sides of the triangles will be lined with cyan color and a glowing RGB strip integrated within the camera module.

The phone will also have two dark Grey racing stripes running vertically down the center of the back panel and a Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team branding at the top right corner along with the iconic Mercedes badge.

The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition will come with a 6.67-inch OLED Full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 480Hz touch sampling rate along with Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

Under the hood, the device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. To keep the temperature in check, it features a VC cooling area of 4860mm². It is claimed to be the world’s first to be equipped with a CyberEngine ultra-wideband motor.

For photography, there will be a triple-camera setup on the back, consisting of a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 primary sensor, coupled with a 13-megapixel OmniVision OV13B sensor, and a 2-megapixel tertiary lens. On the front side, there will be a 20-megapixel snapper for taking selfies and video calling.

It is likely to be running the latest Android 12 operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s own MIUI 13 custom user interface on top. The device will be powered by a 4,700mAh battery with 120W fast charging support.

China-based Tencent Music Entertainment Group has partnered with Apple Music and as a benefit of this partnership, record labels and artists who are a part of TME Music Cloud can now distribute their music globally through Apple Music.

The company says that this will enable music lovers to explore China’s unique music culture and genres, enhancing the global discovery of Chinese music and assisting in the international development of Chinese musicians.

This development will also help promote more high-quality Chinese music overseas. It is not known what exactly TME’s “Music Cloud” is but it appears that the platform will serve small-time artists who lack distribution and marketing help from big labels.

Over the past years, Tencent Music Entertainment has built a platform for independent musicians for distributing their works, attract fans, host virtual concerts, which can eventually help them generate income.

Currently, there’s not much information available about this partnership and whatever the company has announced is quite vague. It’s unlikely that Tencent will share its expensive licensed music with Apple Music but we’ll know for sure when more details are available.

This isn’t the first time Tencent has joined hands with a major online music giant. A few years ago, in 2017, the Chinese internet giant had entered a share swapping agreement with Spotify but it didn’t include content sharing.

Sony is joining hands with Meizu for its flagship smartphone in China. The company will now include Meizu apps and services on the Xperia 1 III flagship handset to better appeal to the Chinese market.

According to an official announcement from the Japanese tech giant, both firms are entering into a strategic partnership earlier today (15th October 2021). The collaboration will have the former offer the latter’s services and applications on its Xperia 1 III flagship smartphone in China. This would include the device arriving with pre installed apps or allopw users to download several apps from Meizu’s Flyme Android skin on the Xperia 1 III and newer devices in the region.

In other words, Chinese users of the new Sony Xperia smartphone can now download the Flyme app store along with services related to news, email, and weather. Although, users need the system update that was apparently pushed out to devices back in October. As per the official announcement, “During the strategic cooperation period, Sony and Meizu will further explore more Flyme functions and application cooperation possibilities on different products.”

The partnership would help devices from the Japanese company seem more appealing in the Chinese market, which is usually harder to enter for non China based brands. Although, Meizu is not exactly a major player in the region either. So it remains to be seen if Sony actually benefits from this partnership in any noticeable way in the arriving months.

Honor, the company which separated from Huawei last year into an independent brand, has today announced the expansion of its strategic partnership with Microsoft. Both the companies will now work together to develop ground-breaking AI and end devices and create forward-looking technology strategies.

The Chinese company says that the goal is to ultimately support Honor’s “1+8+N” strategy worldwide. Apart from this, the Chinese brand has announced Honor MagicBook V 14 as one of the world’s first laptops to come pre-installed with Windows 11 operating system.

Honor had introduced its “1+8+N” all-scenario strategy to develop products by focusing on AI and smartphones as the core of the platform, while developing other connected products such as notebooks, smart screens, tablets, wearables, TW Stereo headphones, and routers.

The company will integrate Microsoft’s cloud computing and AI technology into its product and services such as its YOYO intelligent assistant, collaboration tools, AI travel assistant, utilities, and translation services.

Microsoft was among the first group of suppliers that cooperated with Honor after the company became fully independent. Honor has been using Windows 10 as its official global operating system for its computers.

The Honor MagicBook V 14 will be officially launched at the Honor Smart Life Product Launch event scheduled on 26th September. The company has also said that it is capable of maximizing the potential of Windows 11 with its advanced capabilities in software and hardware integration.

Huawei, the China-based technology giant which has been struggling to retain its position in the market, is set to announce something exciting tomorrow. The company has officially shared a new teaser poster hinting at the arrival of new products as well as a new exclusive partner, details about which will be revealed on 31st August.

While the company has not yet revealed what these upcoming products are, the teaser poster gives us a glimpse at the part of the product which seems to be a printer or a router, but this is just speculation.

Huawei already has a best-selling lineup of routers and was also leading the market in the year 2019. Earlier this year, the company started selling Huawei Router AX2 Pro in China. If it is indeed planning to launch a new router, then the partnership with another company means it could be a high-end product.

Also, the partner for these new products has not been revealed by the company nor the details have leaked. This means that to know with which company Huawei is partnered up with for its new products and what the partnership entails, we will have to wait for the official announcement tomorrow.

Previously, the company had partnered with Leica for camera technology on its premium smartphone. Since 2016, all the flagship smartphones from the Chinese giant featured Leica’s technology, pushing the boundaries of smartphone photography. Earlier this year, in the month of March, Xiaomi officially announced the commencement of its smart electric vehicle business. It was also confirmed that the new division will be led by the company’s founder and CEO Lei Jun.

Since the official announcement, the Chinese smartphone maker has been in talks with several car manufacturers for a partnership but nothing has been materialized so far. But in the recent development, it was reported that Xiaomi is looking to acquire a stake in China Evergrande’s Electric Vehicle unit.

Now, the latest report coming from Science Innovation Board Daily claims that Xiaomi will be building its own car from scratch, and details about the same will be officially revealed by the Chinese company next week.

A well-known tipster Digital Chat Station has also revealed that the company has been in contact with a world-renowned auto parts and emission technology supplier and is also working on a design plan.

Xiaomi has put out a statement denying rumors of negotiating with the China Evergrande Group to buy a 65 percent stake. The spokesperson adds that the company has talked with several carmakers but has not made any decision regarding any partnership for its electric vehicles business.

While Xiaomi is refuting rumors, China Evergrande Group says that talks with Xiaomi to sell its EV unit are at a very early stage. Earlier, the company had announced that the group was in talks with potential investors to sell part of its stakes, including its EV and property management units.

Last month, Lei Jun, founder, CEO, and chairman of the Xioami Group visited the SAIC headquarters, adding it to the list of other car-making companies that he visited, including BYD, Great Wall, Wuling, and some other well-known automakers.

At the time, it was revealed that in the past 75 days, Xiaomi’s management has had 85 industry visits, in-depth exchanges with more than 200 automotive industry veterans, four internal management discussions, and two formal board meetings.

Xiaomi aims to offer high-quality smart electric vehicles to allow users globally to enjoy ubiquitous smart life, says Lei Jun. For this new wholly-owned subsidiary to work on the electric vehicles and related business, the company plans to invest around 10 billion yuan (~$1.5 billion) over a period of 10 years.

Earlier this year, the parent company of Motorola, Lenovo,  had teased its new concept for an air-to-air charging system that can charge multiple devices remotely. Now, the company has announced a partnership that will further advance the development to make this technology practically available for everyone.

Motorola has partnered with GuRu Wireless to add support for over-the-air wireless charging to the company’s smartphones. For those who are unaware, GuRu specializes in customizable over-the-air power systems that use “millimeter-wave integrated circuits, modules and proprietary Smart RF Lensing technology”.

This is quite an interesting move by Motorola which usually avoids adding wireless charging capabilities to its phones but now it is making a major development by investing in a charging technology that is truly wireless and doesn’t require phones to be placed on a charging pad for it to work.

This new concept for charging technology is named “Motorola One Hyper.” The demonstration shows two handsets start charging without any contact with the charger over the air when they are placed at 80cm and 100cm away respectively.

Motorola’s devices will be using GuRu’s RF Lensing to charge the device from across the room. It uses a miniature power transfer system to transmit power in a long range and with precision. As of now, nothing much is known about this partnership.

It remains to be seen when the fruit of this partnership will be available to the users but it’s likely that we will have to wait a bit longer as the technology seems to be at least a few months away for commercial use.

This year, Xiaomi also unveiled its Mi Air Charge which is a similar technology to what Motorola is trying to build. The concept from Xiaomi for an over-the-air charging system uses space positioning and energy transmissions to remotely charge a device.

Meizu Technology has just announced that it is partnering up with an automobile maker. The company will work together with Mini JCW (the brand behind the popular Mini Cooper line of cars) and is developing the Flyme for Cars in vehicle system, which the company teased earlier this week.

Earlier today (30th April 2021), the Chinese smartphone maker announced on its official Weibo account, a Chinese microblogging website. In the online post, the company shared a promotional image that revealed that the company’s branding will appear in the Mini JCW’ car that will compete in the 2021 Master Challenge Asia. Looking at this image poster, it can be observed that the car will have the Meizu 18 Mini JCW printed on the side. The firm believes that the co branding on the car is a notable deal.

Furthermore, the smartphone brand is also working on developing the Flyme for Car system, which is an in vehicle system that would soon be launched. At the moment, not a lot is known regarding the upcoming car system, but the company has assured that the development is steadily moving ahead. OPPO has already scheduled a launch event on May 6th in China where the company will be launching a sleeve of products, including the OPPO K9 series smartphones, entry-level Smart TV models, Enco Air TWS earphones, and a fitness tracker.

Now, the company has also announced that it is partnering with “Wu Liuqi” aka Scissor Seven, and both will now bring co-branded OPPO K9 to the market. A teaser video regarding the same has been released but it doesn’t reveal much.

For those who are unaware, Wu Liuqi is a TV animation that is produced by Xiaofengying, directed by He Xiaofeng, and released by Aha Entertainment. There have been three seasons of the series so far and is also released on Netflix.

A recent listing of the OPPO K9 5G revealed that the phone flaunts a 6.43-inch S-AMOLED display that supports an FHD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a 180Hz touch sampling rate. The punch-hole display is integrated with the 6th generation in-screen fingerprint reader and packs a front-facing camera of 32-megapixel.

Underneath, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 768 chipset and has managed to secure a score of 450,000+ on AnTuTu benchmarks. The device is packed with a 4,300mAh battery, which is accompanied by 66W fast charging technology. According to OPPO, the K9 5G can gain 100 percent battery juice in just 35 minutes.

The device offers users with VC liquid-cooled heat sink, copper plate, and multi-layer thermal conductive graphite sheet for heat dissipation. For the camera, there’s a 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 2-megapixel depth helper. It is a thin device with a thickness of only 7.9mm and it weighs 172 grams.

LetsGoDigital has revealed concept renders of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S22 flagship smartphone, created by Technizo Concept. Notably, the renders are based on the rumors that Olympus and Samsung are partnering for camera performance and these are just the concept renders, meaning the actual design could differ from this.

It shows a larger 200-megapixel primary camera sensor on a rectangular module placed in the top-left corner. There are a few other sensors that sit below the primary sensor. The larger lens could drastically improve the photo quality as it can capture more light. Recently, Samsung had also teased that it is developing a 200-megapixel image sensor as the successor of the 108-megapixel sensor found in the Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Huami Technology announced a partnership with Amazon Could earlier this week on 25th March 2021. The two firms entered into a strategic partnership to ‘improve global competitiveness.’

The Chinese tech giant announced that it would be using Amazon Cloud Technology’s to leverage its global infrastructure and ‘industry leading security’, along with its cloud technology and services. Furthermore, the known wearables maker also stated that it would also use Amazon’s “chip end cloud,” which covers more than 70 countries and regions across the globe. The company also added that the collaboration would also raise competitiveness, while promoting rapid development in the global market.

Notably, the two companies will also be exploring further cooperation in the future for sectors like cloud based health services. The company said that the reason it chose Amazon Cloud Technology over other cloud based firms is for its flexibility and secure cloud computing environment that it offers. This marks a major partnership that will have Huami utilize the cloud expertise of Amazon.

In line with that, Nubia’s Red Magic has today confirmed that the company has entered into a strategic partnership with Tencent Games and the purpose of this cooperation is to offer a better gaming experience to the users of Red Magic Gaming Smartphones.

There were reports about this partnership even before the company made it official. Recently, an alleged image of the upcoming Red Magic 6 Gaming Smartphone had leaked online, which features the Red Magic logo as well as Tencent Games logo.

The Tencent Logo is placed on an X-shaped structure that seems to have been used to act as a heat sink. On the sides of that, there’s a grille on both sides, which indicates that there may be a cooling fan present the grille is present to vent out the air.

So far, it has been confirmed that the Red Magic 6 gaming smartphone will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, which is the flagship SoC available in the market right now. It will be packed with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.

For connectivity, it seems to have packed 5G support as well as Wi-Fi 6. It will be running the latest Android 11 operating system with the company’s own custom user interface. The smartphone will feature a 4,5000mAh battery — the same as its predecessor — but will come with a faster-charging technology. The announcement was made earlier today (7th January 2021), during a conference. This collaboration had apparently begun early last year, on January 28, and will have both companies jointly launch a new smart car by the first half of this year.

Faraday Future, a startup working on an electric vehicle, has announced that the company has partnered with Philips Intellectual Property & Standards for showcasing vehicle features that use a select set of Philips technologies.

In this joint development agreement, Philips will provide its expertise in user wellness monitoring and together with Faraday Future, they will integrate the technologies accordingly in FF’s vehicles.

The company adds that Philips’ health technology and software add significant differentiators to Faraday Future’s product vision and its planned upcoming FF 91 and FF 81 luxury electric vehicles.

The budget oriented devices are likely to attract Jio Phone users to make the switch. Companies like Lava and Karbonn are known names in the Indian market for their entry level Android devices. Previously, Reliance Jio partnered with a Chinese firm iTel to sell low cost smartphones. Thus, the move from Reliance could likely be an expansion of this plan and the launch of the Vivo Y1s might have been just the start for Jio exclusive Android smartphones in India. A new rumor had recently surfaced, which suggested that Huawei and Leica‘s partnership had expired. However, the Chinese tech giant has denied the rumor, despite the source being a prominent Weibo leakster.

For those unaware, Huawei had first partnered up with Leica back in 2016, for its the flagship Huawei P9. The known camera company even contributed towards the image processing, UI design, and camera module design and has since been a staple partner of the smartphone maker for its flagship lineups. But now, it was rumored that this partnership had come to an end, when known leakster, DigitalChatStation revealed the information on Weibo, a Chinese microblogging website.

The leakster claimed that Leica has been contacted by a different Chinese smartphone manufacturer and had decided to end the partnership. Although, Huawei has since responded to AndroidAuthority regarding this matter and called the rumor “absolutely fake news,” while a Leica representative stated that they “have no information about the termination of the partnership.” So for the moment, it seems that the partnership is still holding strong. Even the latest Huawei Mate 40 series featured Leica branding on the rear for its camera lenses.

JF Technology, a subsidiary of JF International, is entering into a partnership with the venture capital arm of Huawei Investment & Holdings Co Ltd. This partnership will be achieved through Huawei’s subscription to shares in JFH Technology.

According to TheStar report, a recent filing with Bursa Malaysia had JF Technology state that Hubble Technology Investment will inject a total of 1.5 million US Dollars in JFH Technology. This will fortify the relationship with the Chinese firms as a key customer, while also maintaining a strategic partnership and gaining access to the Chinese market as well.

Out of the total contribution, 410,000 US Dollars will be credited to the increased registered capital of JFH while the remaining 1.09 million US Dollars will be credited to the capital reserve. JF Technology stated that the collaboration will allow the group to establish a long term business partnership with Hubble Technology Investment and other customers like Huawei in China. It further added that “With the opportunity for JFH Technology to work closely with HTI to develop new test contacting technology for 5G network and 6G network as well as in the future, there will be technological know how and knowledge transfer from JF Group to JFH Technology, enabling JFH Technology to move up the value chain of the semiconductor industry while developing local talents amongst Malaysians.”

OPPO, the China-based company known for making smartphones, has been trying to diversify its offering. In line with that, the company is now all set to launch its first Smart TV on 19th October in its home country.

Ahead of the official launch, the company has been revealing some key information about the OPPO Smart TV. In the latest teaser post on Weibo, the company has confirmed its partnership with Dynaudio for the upcoming TV models.

However, it seems that the OPPO TV won’t be the only product from the company to have support for Dynaudio. As per the recent leak, the Chinese brand is working on new TWS earphones dubbed as OPPO Enco X, in partnership with Dynaudio.

An image of the upcoming true wireless earphones from the company has also leaked online, which shows that the logo of Dynaudio will be printed on the back panel of the charging case for the earphones.

Huawei has just announced that it has partnered with Rain, a South African telecom operator, to launch the country’s first Standalone 5G network (SA 5G). This makes South Africa one of the first countries to adopt the standalone 5G network in the world.

Rain’s Standalone 5G is currently available in just a few regions at the moment, including Cape Twon, Claremont, Goodwood, Bellville, Durbanville, and Cape Town City Center. This development has far-reaching potential in multiple industries and will help boost the country’s economy as well in the longer run. The SA 5G is built on the company’s own sites and allow Rain to significantly enhance its fixed wireless broadband (FWA) service in the aforementioned areas.

For those unaware, 5G is offered in either SA or NSA (non standalone) networks, with the former offering better speeds and utilizing the true potential of 5G. However, it is more expensive as well, due to the expensive investment in its infrastructure. On the other hand, the NSA 5G network is more affordable in comparison and builds on existing 4G networks. Furthermore, it is more broadly adopted across the globe and most 5G networks are built on NSA networks.

The announcement of the partnership is a small victory that arrives just a while after Huawei got banned from working on the UK’s 5G infrastructure. The Chinese tech giant can no longer develop 5G in the region and will soon have its equipment removed within the next few years. However, it is noteworthy that another Chinese vendor, Oppo, is working with British telecom operator Vodafone, to deploy the country’s first SA 5G network.

Earlier today (3rd June 2020), Facebook announced that it has entered into a global deal with Saregama. The social media giant will be licensing one of India’s oldest and largest music label’s music for videos and other social experiences across its other services like Instagram.

In simpler terms, Facebook is bringing songs from the music label to its global social media platform. This arrives after Saregama entered into a partnership with the Swedish music giant Spotify just a few weeks prior. Now, users will be able to choose a wide variety of music to add to their videos, stories, and more via music stickers that are owned by the Indian label. These songs can now be accessed on Facebook and Instagram.

Xiaomi-backed gaming smartphone market Black Shark has today announced that the company has partnered with Tencent Games in an effort to explore innovation in gaming both in terms of software as well as hardware.

Making this announcement, the company has said that it aims to provide users with a more diverse gaming experience. We expect to see this partnership getting materialised with the upcoming Black Shark 3 smartphone getting launched later this year.

Earlier, Tencent Games had partnered with ASUS for the company’s second-generation gaming smartphone — Asus ROG Phone 2. Under this partnership, the company had also launched Tencent customized Elite version of the smartphone at a cheaper rate in China.

While the company has not yet revealed anything about the upcoming gaming smartphone, leak shows that the Black Shark 3 will come with 2K resolution display and will be offering 120Hz refresh rate. The League of Legends 2019 World Championship had its final after over a month of competition in Paris. At the event, Oppo, the sponsor of the tournament, showcased its latest Oppo Reno2 Zoom smartphone.

In the tournament that kicked-off on 2nd October in Berlin, 24 teams were competing in a series of epic death matches. As a sponsor of the tournament, the smartphone company Oppo had set up experience booth from November 5th-10th. It also presented the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award and showcased its smartphone.

Xiaomi, the China-based smartphone manufacturer, has occasionally partnered with other bands and companies to offer a limited edition product. Today, Redmi — a brand of Xiaomi which recently split from its parent company to work independently, announced a partnership with Marvel.

Under this partnership with Marvel, Redmi will be making a product for the promotion of the upcoming superhero movie Avengers: Endgame — the fourth installment in the Avengers series. While the company has not revealed how they will be cooperating, it could launch a limited edition smartphone, themes or mobile accessories.

Earlier, Marvel had partnered with OnePlus for the promotion of the Avengers movie and as a part of that agreement, the OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Edition was launched. While the phone’s specifications remain the same, it offers a different design and custom accessories to accompany with the phone.

Similar, we are expecting that Redmi could launch a limited edition model of its existing smartphone as it’s unlikely to launch a new smartphone anytime soon. If it indeed plans to launch a limited edition of an existing model, the Redmi Note 7 Pro seems to be a good option for that.
