This much was revealed via the WiFi Alliance certification pages for the three handsets.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Samsung-Galaxy-S8-Lite.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-187503" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Samsung-Galaxy-S8-Lite.jpg?x44794" alt="samsung galaxy s8 lite" width="681" height="522" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Samsung-Galaxy-S8-Lite.jpg 681w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Samsung-Galaxy-S8-Lite-300x230.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 681px) 100vw, 681px" /></a></p>
<p>The screenshots grabbed from the WiFi Alliance website shows the handsets come with model numbers SM-G9500, SM-G9550 and SM-N9500. The model numbers are those of the Chinese variants of the Galaxy S8, S8+ and the Galaxy Note 8, respectively. The listing was supposed to show just the WiFI certification but alongside comes the discovery that the models that were tested are running Android 9.0 Pie OS.</p>

<p>The Galaxy S8, S8+ and Galaxy Note 8 were launched running Android Nougat and later on Android Oreo update was pushed around Spring last year. Samsung is yet to disclose when Android Pie will hit the models but it may not be this year. An update is likely to happen sometime after January since the Galaxy S9-series and Note 9 will be getting Android Pie in January. As usual, new flagships usually take the front row seats when it comes to firmware updates.</p>

The roadmap only refers to Canada, so if you are not from Canada the date of the update for your device may be different.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-173656" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/samsung-galaxy-s8-s8-plus.jpg?x44794" alt="samsung-galaxy-s8-s8-plus" width="830" height="467" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/samsung-galaxy-s8-s8-plus.jpg 830w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/samsung-galaxy-s8-s8-plus-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/samsung-galaxy-s8-s8-plus-768x432.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 830px) 100vw, 830px" /></p>
<p>But given that, usually, updates get rolled out gradually in some weeks at max, these dates give us a clear idea of the time frame in which the devices will finally get Android Oreo. According to Samsung Canada, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s8-plus-g955k/">Galaxy S8</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s8-g950k/">S8 Plus</a> will officially be updated in the country on March 18. Ten days after, on March 28, it will be the turn of the Galaxy Note 8. On spring/summer 2018 the company will start rolling out the update on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s7/">Galaxy S7</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s7-edge/">S7 Edge</a>, Galaxy A5 (2017) and the flagship tablet <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-tab-s3-wi-fi/">Galaxy Tab S3</a> 9.7-inch version.</p>
<p>Later in 2018, Samsung <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-xcover-4/">Galaxy XCover 4</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-a8-2018-smartphone-specs-and-features/">Galaxy A8 (2018)</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-j3-emerge/">Galaxy J3 Emerge</a>, Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017), Galaxy Tab Active 2 and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-tab-10-1-2016-lte-t585/">Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016)</a> will get updated as well. For each of the listed devices, the update will come alongside a new version of the customized user interface by the Korean giant, which will be called Samsung Experience 9.0. It will bring new features and improvements, as well as important bug fixes and security fixes.</p>

Well, not until now. Samsung may have revealed the timetable for its next Oreo roll out for the Note 8 as well as the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy A3. The release details were spotted on the website &#8211; <em>Güncelmiyiz</em> which is owned and operated by Samsung Turkey.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/samsung.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-178360" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/samsung.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung" width="600" height="399" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/samsung.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/samsung-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>The website is known for providing details about upcoming firmware updates for Samsung devices. So it is interesting to observe the latest update which reflects that Android 8.0 Oreo is the next major OS update for the Galaxy Note 8 and the firmware is in the test phase right now with a “planned update date” of March 30. In addition to the Galaxy Note 8 Oreo release date, the website also mentions that Android 8.0 Oreo is in the test phase for the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge with a planned release date of April 13. Similar information is also given for the Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 (2017) all of which are listed to receive the Oreo update on May 25 this year. In addition, the 9.7-inch Galaxy Tab S3 is scheduled to receive Oreo on May 4.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/samsung-2.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-178361" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/samsung-2.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy S7" width="600" height="146" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/samsung-2.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/samsung-2-300x73.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>

<p>Although the details seem to be for the models in use in Turkey, we expect the rollout to extend to other markets when they become available in Turkey. But we may want to take this not too seriously as the updates may not arrive n the stipulated dates. However, expect the rollout to happen anything within the time frame revealed on the website.</p>

The present series, The Last Jedi will get a new episode in less than a month. So too will fans of the franchise in China be treated to a new edition of the Galaxy Note 8 flagship phablet based on the popular movie. This was revealed on Twitter by a Chinese blogger.</p>
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true">
<p lang="en" dir="ltr">Samsung will launch Galaxy Note8 Star Wars customized version, deep customization. <a href="https://t.co/azYQlEWDza">pic.twitter.com/azYQlEWDza</a></p>
<p>&mdash; Ice universe (@UniverseIce) <a href="https://twitter.com/UniverseIce/status/933221395735101440?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">November 22, 2017</a></p></blockquote>
<p><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p>The blogger who has a good track record also shared an image of the said edition with nothing but a wallpaper having BB-8, the cutesy droid character which was introduced in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The image was captured during a Samsung event in China where the Korean giant teased a new AI-based User interface for the Galaxy S9. In another light, the BB-8 wallpaper could just be used to showcase the Bixby AI UX but that isn&#8217;t likely the case because of the possibility of intellectual rights violation.</p>
<p>With only a customised wallpaper, that won&#8217;t be very much interesting for the huge Star Wars fans in China and around the globe. The company recently launched the Galaxy S8 Pirates of the Caribbeans special edition and just the box casing had an appreciable degree of customization. The phone itself was without any, except for customized Pirates of the Caribbeans theme installed inside. So, in this case, you likely not be getting a customization like the 2015 Galaxy S6 Edge Iron Man Edition that sports the Iron Man red and gold colours, as well as an Iron Man headshot on the back. Perhaps, the customization may also be on the packaging box and a theme based on the latest Star Wars edition.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/note-8-star-wars-edition-720x507.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-159023" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/note-8-star-wars-edition-720x507.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="720" height="507" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/note-8-star-wars-edition-720x507.jpg 720w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/note-8-star-wars-edition-720x507-300x211.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/note-8-star-wars-edition-720x507-255x180.jpg 255w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></a></p>

You Can Grab The Samsung Galaxy S8 Pirates of The Caribbean Special Edition in China for ¥5988 ($880)</a></strong></p>
<p>There is no guarantee Samsung will indeed release the Galaxy Note 8 Star Wars edition but if it does eventually, we still can&#8217;t tell for now if it will be available outside China.</p>

The pre-sales figures are somewhat surprising because the Note 8 is reported to have garnered over 250,000 persons indicating interest to grab one when it goes on sales.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Galaxy-Note8-Star-Pink-3.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-147004" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Galaxy-Note8-Star-Pink-3.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="720" height="480" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Galaxy-Note8-Star-Pink-3.jpg 720w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Galaxy-Note8-Star-Pink-3-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></a></p>
<p>The Galaxy Note 8 is a pricey device with its base 64GB variant coming at about $964 while the top variant with 256GB storage has a price tag of $1,107. For such a device to command such an amount of interest in a price-sensitive market like India is the surprising aspect. The device recorded 72,000 pre-orders in Amazon within the first 24 hours when the websites opened up for presales The figures reached 150,000 pre-orders on Amazon while 100,000 persons pre-ordered from Samsung&#8217;s official website.</p>
<p>The Galaxy Note 8 will be launched in India on a day Apple is set to unveil the iPhone 8 and other products. This could be a strategic move and we expect Samsung to announce the device at a slightly lower price than what it will sell in the U.S for instance. A previous report had disclosed that Samsung plans to give a free Desktop Experience (DeX) station to those who pre-order the device in India. This isn&#8217;t the first time Samsung is running such kind of offer, so it is possible. The tech giant rolled out the same offer earlier on in a number of European markets like Croatia.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">Read More:</span> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/09/10/samsung-galaxy-note-8-gets-almost-400000-first-day-pre-sales-korea/">Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Gets Almost 400,000 Pre-orders On First Day Of Pre-Sales in Korea</a></strong></p>
<p>It is understandable that not all reservations will be activated as actual sales but it shows the strong attention the Galaxy Note 8 commands. Samsung is the top manufacturer in India but most of its sales are in the mid-range and budget category like the Tizen powered Samsung Z-series, J-series, A-series and other mid-range models. But we expect the flagship Note 8 to change it all with its sales in India when it commences.</p>

There are talks that it would go official in China on September 29 and although Samsung is yet to officially reveal the price of the Galaxy Note 8, it is rumored to be more than 7,000 Yuan (around $1076) for the top variant. The device is expected to come with a price of 6,088 Yuan (~$915) in China for the 6GB base variant.  <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Note-8-bixby.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-146276" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Note-8-bixby.jpg?x44794" alt="Note 8 bixby" width="660" height="347" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Note-8-bixby.jpg 660w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Note-8-bixby-300x158.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px" /></a></p>
<p>The Galaxy Note 8 recommended retail prices for Hong Kong has been revealed and it looks like it will be a lot less than the price in China. Of course, both prices are expected to be a little lower than what it will sell in the U.S. There is news that the Samsung Note 8 will be launched in Hong Kong on September 13 while its sales would commence on September 29. The prices will be as follows;</p>
<ul>
<li>6GB + 64GB: HK $ 6998, about 5,801 yuan</li>
<li>6GB + 128GB: HK $ 7698, about 6,382 yuan</li>
<li>6GB+ 256GB: HK $ 8198, about 6,797 yuan</li>
</ul>
<p>The Galaxy Note 8 is Samsung&#8217;s most expensive model yet, with the price for its base model almost hitting $1,000 USD.  So, we really don&#8217;t expect it to fall very far below what it will sell in other markets but Hong Kong is a smaller market than China so it may not have the same prices. Also, the prices may slightly vary across different markets all over the world.</p>

<p>Despite its huge price tag, the Galaxy Note 8 was able to attract such huge interest whereas the botched Galaxy Note 7 last year was able to attract 380,000 pre-orders in over 13 days. This isn&#8217;t unconnected to the refreshed design it adopts which is different from its predecessors in so many ways. In addition, the Galaxy Note 8 is Samsung&#8217;s first smartphone to feature a dual camera setup. It is unclear though if the Note 8 would be able to surpass the feat achieved by the highly successful Galaxy S8 which reached 550,000 pre-orders in two days when it opened in Korea. With over 390,000 reservations already, that looks very much likely.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">Read More:</span> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/08/26/rumor-samsung-galaxy-note-8-china-launch-september-29/">Rumor: Samsung Galaxy Note 8 China Launch Could Be On September 29</a></strong></p>
<p>According to the report carried by The Korea Herald, 65% of customers who reserved the Note 8 went for the 64GB model and most of them chose the Deepsea Blue color variants. The figures are expected to exceed one million units by September 14. The device will go on sale on September 21 but those who pre-order will get the device along with their counterparts in the U.S on September 15 when it goes on sale.</p>

To this end, a launch invitation to the Note 8 Unpacked which would be held in the Beijing 751 D -PARK 79 in China.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/galaxy-note-8-china.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-147719" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/galaxy-note-8-china.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy Note 8" width="600" height="399" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/galaxy-note-8-china.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/galaxy-note-8-china-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>The timing of the launch event is quite interesting, considering that the Mi Mix 2 is already billed to launch in China on September 11 and in addition to that, the flagship Apple iPhone 8 is set to be announced on September 12 in the U.S. The Galaxy note 8 China launch makes it a schedule of three big events in three consecutive days. The three models are all expected to feature a bezel-less full-screen design.</p>
<p>The Galaxy Note 8 has already been launched in the U.S and so it is the only model among the three expected models whose specifications and photos as well as price are already in the open. Also, the Galaxy Note 8 China Edition has got TENAA certification with model numbers SM-N9500 and SM-N9508. The TENAA listing shows the Note China Edition will come in Black, Blue and Gold colors and the specs will basically similar to that launched in New York. The only difference seems to be that there will be a 4GB RAM version meant for the Chinese market, according to the TENAA listing. There might also be an 8GB RAM version just like it Samsung did for the botched Galaxy Note 7 in China.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Design.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-146481" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Design.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy Note8 Colors" width="680" height="453" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Design.jpg 680w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Design-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></a></p>

Samsung is expected to unveil the flagship in China but looks like China won&#8217;t see an early launch. A new rumour on Weibo hints that the Note 8 China Edition will be launched on September 29. The delay could be so that the Galaxy S8 stock could be cleared since the prices are expected to be the same.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/galaxy-note-8.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-146742" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/galaxy-note-8.png?x44794" alt="Samsung galaxy note 8" width="596" height="388" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/galaxy-note-8.png 596w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/galaxy-note-8-300x195.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 596px) 100vw, 596px" /></a></p>
<p>Already, the Galaxy Note 8 China Edition had earlier been certified by TENAA bearing model numbers SM-N9500 and SM-N9508. The TENAA listing shows the Note China Edition will come in Black, Blue and Gold colours and the specs will basically similar to that launched in New York. The only difference seems to be that there will be a 4GB RAM version meant for the Chinese market, according to the TENAA listing. Who knows, Samsung may shake things up by also including an 8GB RAM version just like it did for the botched Galaxy Note 7 in China.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/galaxy-note-8.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-146741" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/galaxy-note-8.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy Note 8" width="521" height="746" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/galaxy-note-8.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/galaxy-note-8-210x300.jpg 210w" sizes="(max-width: 521px) 100vw, 521px" /></a></p>

<p>As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is equipped with a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display with 2960 x 1440pixels resolution. The device comes with a Snapdragon 835 version as well as an Exynos 8895-powered model with 6GB RAM and 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage options. There is also a 3,300mAh battery on board. The Note 8 also packs a 12MP wide angle + 12MP Telephoto camera<strong> </strong>Both lenses support OIS optical image stabilization which is the first in the world. In addition, it also supports 2x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom. The device is expected to come with a price of 6,088 Yuan (~$915) in China for the 6GB base variant, perhaps.</p>

The next &#8220;big thing&#8221; which would rock the tech world is the iPhone 8 which is equally expected to pack an amazing design. Both the iPhone 8 and Galaxy Note 8 will go head to head in a race for dominance of the premium smartphone market and just in case you are wondering how they square up to each other, GSMArena recently got an iPhone 8 dummy which they compared with the Galaxy Note 8. Here are some photos of both flagships side by side.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/iphoe-8.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-146504" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/iphoe-8.png?x44794" alt="iPhone 8 vs Samsung Galaxy Note 8" width="600" height="450" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/iphoe-8.png 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/iphoe-8-300x225.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/iphoe-8-160x120.png 160w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>The iPhone 8 dummy seems to have been put up from the CAD schematics that have made the round severally. We can&#8217;t really say for sure if this would be the final design the device will come with but the dummy comes with a dimension of 143.5 x 71 x 7.5 mm while the Galaxy Note 8 obviously has a larger size with a dimension of 162.5 x 74.8 x 8.6 mm. One common feature expected on both flagship models is a large aspect ratio. The Galaxy Note 8 continues with the bezel-less infinity display utilized on the Galaxy S8 but the iPhone 8 has ultra-thin bezels at the edges which would have gone round if not for the protrusion on the top edge in order to make space for the front camera and facial scanning hardware.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/iphone-8.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-146505" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/iphone-8.png?x44794" alt="" width="603" height="456" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/iphone-8.png 603w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/iphone-8-300x227.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/iphone-8-160x120.png 160w" sizes="(max-width: 603px) 100vw, 603px" /></a></p>
<p>Taking a look at the rear aspect, the Note 8 and iPhone 8 come with dual cameras but while that of iPhone 8 sits in a vertical plane, the Note 8&#8217;s are horizontal dual cameras. The Apple model has the LED flash in between the dual cameras while the Note 8 is positioned in the same way as found on the Galaxy S8. In addition, Apple&#8217;s dual camera hump is much more pronounced than that of the Note 8.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/iphone-8-4.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-146507" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/iphone-8-4.png?x44794" alt="iphone 8 vs galaxy Note 8" width="601" height="454" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/iphone-8-4.png 601w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/iphone-8-4-300x227.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/iphone-8-4-160x120.png 160w" sizes="(max-width: 601px) 100vw, 601px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">Read More:</span> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/08/24/samsung-galaxy-note-8s-official-camera-samples-reveal-prowess-dual-rear-cameras/">Samsung Galaxy Note 8’s Official Camera Samples Reveal Prowess of Dual Rear Cameras</a></strong></p>
<p>The duo was also captured from the sides and they are not in anyway similar. The Galaxy Note 8 retained the 3.5mm headphone jack, but Apple offers stereo speakers. In addition, the Note 8 comes with an S Pen stylus but Apple only uses that for its iPad models. So, what do you think? If the iPhone 8 comes with this design will it be a hit or miss?</p>

Before now, there have been series of leaks surrounding the specs and design of the device, giving us an idea of what to expect. We have now gotten what is likely the first set of real-life photos of the Galaxy Note 8 showing the design of the device from all angles. The images look like shots of a Note 8 prototype and they contain a number of blurred parts which masks a number of relevant texts and features but we still get to see the device in its full glory.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Galaxy-Note-8-prototype-3.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-144011" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Galaxy-Note-8-prototype-3.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy Note 8" width="738" height="415" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Galaxy-Note-8-prototype-3.jpg 1305w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Galaxy-Note-8-prototype-3-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Galaxy-Note-8-prototype-3-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Galaxy-Note-8-prototype-3-1024x576.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 738px) 100vw, 738px" /></a></p>
<div>The newly leaked photos hit us courtesy of myeverydaytech.com who has since pulled down the original post from its website but not before the images got spotted. The images do not show so many differences in details from the leaked features that we have regularly been inundated with. Among the features which conform with previous leaks is the presence of a bezel-less infinity display just like the Galaxy S8. The device is also shown to feature the same 18: 9 aspect ratio as used on the S8 but here, you have a far bigger device tipped to be around 6.2 inches in size. The photos also show the Always On display which the Galaxy Note 8 will feature just like on the Galaxy S8.</div>
<div></div>
<div><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Galaxy-Note-8-prototype-1.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-144009" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Galaxy-Note-8-prototype-1.jpg?x44794" alt="Galaxy-Note-8" width="462" height="702" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Galaxy-Note-8-prototype-1.jpg 674w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Galaxy-Note-8-prototype-1-197x300.jpg 197w" sizes="(max-width: 462px) 100vw, 462px" /></a></div>
<div>
<p>The picture showing the rear view of the Galaxy Note 8 confirms the presence of dual cameras at the rear which is said to be two 12MP sensors with Optical Image Stabilization. There is also a rear fingerprint sensor sitting at the side of the rear camera flash just like on the S8. We also can see the presence of the usual Stylus pen which the Galaxy Note series is known for. The source of the leak claims Note 8&#8217;s S Pen will be the same in terms of hardware as the botched Note 7, which means it will offer 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity, and will also be usable even when the Note 8 is submerged in water. The Note 8 will also be coming with a 3.5mm audio jack.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Galaxy-Note-8-prototype.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-144008" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Galaxy-Note-8-prototype.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung galaxy note 8" width="444" height="666" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Galaxy-Note-8-prototype.jpg 683w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Galaxy-Note-8-prototype-200x300.jpg 200w" sizes="(max-width: 444px) 100vw, 444px" /></a></p>

We have seen a couple of leaked renders of the device but the specifications are still unclear. Yet again, a couple of renders of the Galaxy Note 8 has leaked, said to be from case maker Ghostek who most likely has got the prototype to work with.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/galaxy-note-8-render-3.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-141838" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/galaxy-note-8-render-3.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy Note 8 " width="600" height="458" /></a></p>
<p>The renders show the Note 8 from all angles, capturing all the features including a dual camera setup at the rear. The most prominent feature is the full-screen display with curved edges looking similar to the infinity display on the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. The Note 8 will still have a higher screen-to-body ratio and that would make it one giant full-screen phone. The flagship device seems to also have a ultra-thin body build despite its large size. Apart from the size and the presence of a dual-camera set up at the rear, the device looks similar to the Samsung S8.</p>

Couple with the fact that Apple&#8217;s 2017 iPhone 8 flagship is just by the wings and may be launched soon, Samsung is said to be planning for a quick release of the Galaxy Note 8 around September.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/de8511d35526def.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-140798" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/de8511d35526def.jpg?x44794" alt="samsung galaxy note 8" width="600" height="436" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/de8511d35526def.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/de8511d35526def-300x218.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is the next model in the stylus laden Galaxy Note series that is as old as the Galaxy S-series. A couple of renders of the Galaxy Note 8 leaked recently, basically giving us an idea of what the device may look like. The renders resemble earlier ones we have seen before now and that tends to seal the idea that the Note 8 will utilise a design similar to the Galaxy S8. The leaked renders show the Galaxy Note 8 will have the same infinity display with a near-bezel-less front just like the Galaxy S8. The device will only have slight bezels at the top and bottom but the sides will be curved.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/4329ce7f9577307.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-140799" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/4329ce7f9577307.jpg?x44794" alt="samsung galaxy note 8" width="600" height="524" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/4329ce7f9577307.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/4329ce7f9577307-300x262.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a>Sadly, the renders only show the front view of the Galaxy Note 8 so we still haven&#8217;t got a view of the rear. However, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is said to come with dual cameras at the rear which consists of two 12MP sensors with Optical Image Stabilization. There will also a rear fingerprint sensor and as usual a Stylus pen.</p>

Soon after the rumour of the impending launch surfaced, the Galaxy Note 8 has appeared in a benchmark test for its browser. The device was spotted in HTML5Test&#8217;s database where it is shown to be running Samsung&#8217;s latest Internet 5.2 web browser.</p>

<p>HTML5test is a web application for evaluating a web browser&#8217;s accuracy in implementing the web standards HTML5 and Web SQL Database, as well as the WebGL standard. To test a web browser, the phone user must visit the home page of the website html5test.com. So it is glaring that someone using the Galaxy Note 8 did run a test on the HTML5Test&#8217;s website.</p>
<p>For the avoidance of doubt, the Galaxy Note 8 made its appearance with the model number SM-N950F which is possibly its official model number for one of the versions. The entire Galaxy Note 8 models would likely have the model number SM-N950x, with the last letter varying according to the carrier and international models. Note that the botched Galaxy Note 7 had the model number SM-N930F on one of its versions while its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 5 came with an SM-N920x lineup.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-8-HTML5Test.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-136633" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-8-HTML5Test.png?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy note 8" width="682" height="540" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-8-HTML5Test.png 682w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-8-HTML5Test-300x238.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 682px) 100vw, 682px" /></a></p>

<p>The listing does not reveal many details apart from the fact that the device runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box and pulled a total score of 488 out of a total of 555 points in the test. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is earlier rumoured to pack a 6.3-inch Infinity Display, Dual rear cameras with 3x optical zoom, an 8MP selfie camera, either an Exynos 8895 processor or a Snapdragon 836 SoC. It is also reported to miss out on an in-screen fingerprint reader.</p>

Sammobile reports that the tech giant has some chances of launching the successor to the defunct Note 7, as against recent reports that stated otherwise. The flagship Galaxy Note model is expected to debut this year with a better design and more thorough safety checks that would make a hurried launch unlikely. This is obviously to avoid a repeat of the unfortunate issues that bogged the Galaxy Note 7 and led to its total recall. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Leaked-Galaxy-Note-8-Blue-Coral.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-135283 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Leaked-Galaxy-Note-8-Blue-Coral.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy Note 8" width="950" height="629" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Leaked-Galaxy-Note-8-Blue-Coral.jpg 950w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Leaked-Galaxy-Note-8-Blue-Coral-300x199.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Leaked-Galaxy-Note-8-Blue-Coral-768x508.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 950px) 100vw, 950px" /></a></p>
<p>Even though Samsung is yet to share any detail of the Galaxy Note 8, Sammobile quoted internal sources as saying the tech giant is planning to release the Galaxy Note 8 at the tech conference held annually in Berlin. To buttress their claim, the internal sources gave the point that Samsung had always unveiled a device during IFA and that the Gear S4 which could possibly be the alternative gadget that might be unveiled is unlikely to be ready before the conference. This they attributed to the fact that the development of a Tizen 3.0 wearable has only just started.</p>

<p>The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is rumoured to feature an<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/05/25/samsung-galaxy-note-8-front-panel-appears-leaked-video-huge-infinity-display/"> edge-to-edge Infinity display</a> that would be <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/06/02/samsung-galaxy-note-8-feature-6-3-inch-infinity-display/">6.3 inches in size</a>. The SD 836 chip is a revised version of the present Snapdragon 835 and is<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/06/07/qualcomms-flagship-chip-h2-2017-snapdragon-836/"> tipped as coming in the second half of the year</a>. A new rumor has now emerged that the Snapdragon 836 processor will be featured on the expected <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/samsung">Samsung</a> Galaxy Note 8. If true, that would make the Galaxy Note 7 the first Snapdragon 836-powered smartphone.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/galaxy-note-8-1024x743.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-134378" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/galaxy-note-8-1024x743.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy Note 8" width="1024" height="743" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/galaxy-note-8-1024x743.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/galaxy-note-8-1024x743-300x218.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/galaxy-note-8-1024x743-768x557.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<p>The Galaxy Note 8 is Samsung&#8217;s next-gen flagship Note series smartphone which is expected to be launched in the second half of this year also. The Galaxy Note 8 is expected to utilize a 6.3-inch display and would be the same curved infinity display that was used on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s8-2/">Galaxy S8</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s8-2/">S8+</a>. A <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/05/25/samsung-galaxy-note-8-front-panel-appears-leaked-video-huge-infinity-display/">recently leaked video had shown us the huge infinity display the Note 8 will feature </a>as well as the front panel. The Note 8&#8217;s display is also expected to be a curved edge one with a high screen-to-body ratio which would likely be the same 18.5:9 aspect ratio featured on the Galaxy S8 with a 4K resolution.</p>

<p>On its part, the Snapdragon 836’s large cores are tipped to have a clock frequency of 2.5GHz, slightly higher than the 2.45GHz frequency of the SD 835 large cores. The small cores may likely retain the 1.90GHz clock frequency found on the SD 835. The tipster also revealed the SD 836’s GPU is clocked at 740MHz. The Galaxy Note 8 is expected to be announced during IFA Berlin 2017.</p>

The recovery was helped a great deal by the positive reviews and the successful outing of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s8/">Galaxy S8</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s8-2/">S8+</a> which were launched in April. In line with precedence, the next big announcement concerning a product launch from Samsung would likely be the  Galaxy Note 8.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/galaxy-note-8-1024x743.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-134378" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/galaxy-note-8-1024x743.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy Note 8" width="1024" height="743" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/galaxy-note-8-1024x743.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/galaxy-note-8-1024x743-300x218.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/galaxy-note-8-1024x743-768x557.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<p>We have had some strings of rumours relating to the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in the recent past, almost all pointing at a 6.3-inch display. A new leak from the Netherlands has emerged, also towing the line that the Galaxy Note 8 would sport a 6.3-inch display but this leak went further to claim that the Note 8&#8217;s display would be the same curved infinity display that was used on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s8-2/">Galaxy S8</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s8-2/">S8+</a>. A <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/05/25/samsung-galaxy-note-8-front-panel-appears-leaked-video-huge-infinity-display/">recently leaked video had shown us the huge infinity display the Note 8 will feature </a>as well as the front panel.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">Read More:</span> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/05/25/samsung-galaxy-note-8-front-panel-appears-leaked-video-huge-infinity-display/">Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Front Panel Appears in a Leaked Video; Reveals Huge Infinity Display</a></strong></p>
<p>In other words, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 would have a curved edge display with a high screen-to-body ratio which would likely be the same 18.5:9 aspect ratio featured on the Galaxy S8. The leak source also claims the Galaxy S8 would have a 4K display resolution. We still don&#8217;t know if the fingerprint sensor would be a front screen affair or it is going to be embedded at the back. All other features are still obscured but taking a wild guess, the Note 8 would most likely feature a Snapdragon 835 chipset. As for its launch, that is still in the dark as well but it is alleged that the Note 8 is already being tested with Android 7.1.1 which means the device will launch in no distant time. Who knows, Samsung may launch the device during IFA Berlin 2017 coming up this September.</p>

This is despite the fact that dual-lens camera smartphones are turning out to be the trend for 2017. However seems the company is saving the best for the last.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/samsung-galaxy-note-8.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-129331" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/samsung-galaxy-note-8.png?x44794" alt="galaxy note 8 renders" width="743" height="486" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/samsung-galaxy-note-8.png 743w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/samsung-galaxy-note-8-300x196.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 743px) 100vw, 743px" /></a></p>
<p>Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Note 8 later this year and the Galaxy Note series flagship is expected to pack a dual-lens camera setup. This isn&#8217;t the first time it would emerge that the Galaxy Note 8 would come with dual rear cameras. More details of the dual camera setup have surfaced from South Korea, Samsung&#8217;s home country. The Korea Herald quoted an analyst at Daishin Securities, Park Kang-ho as saying that although Samsung did not adopt dual cameras for the Galaxy S8, the tech giant will most likely feature dual cameras on its smartphone considering how the trending feature stole the spotlight at MWC, 2017.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">Read More:</span> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/04/07/photos-purportedly-show-samsung-galaxy-note-8/">Photos purportedly show the Samsung Galaxy Note 8</a></strong></p>
<div id="native-ad-b-1495006678493" class="tpd-box"> The Korea Herald further quoted industry watchers as claiming that the dual camera setup aboard the Galaxy Note 8 is expected to feature a 3X optical zoom, a 12MP wide-angle lens and a 13MP telephoto lens. This setup coincides correctly with the patent Samsung submitted earlier this year, which outlines technology that uses the combination of a wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens to capture moving images more effectively.  Already, Huawei, OPPO and Vivo, all have dual cameras smartphone this year, in keeping up with the trend in China. According to findings by Hong Kong-based research firm Counterpoint research, most of the top-selling premium smartphones in China in the first quarter were dual-camera phones including the iPhone 7, Huawei Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro and Vivo’s Xplay 6.</div>

The Galaxy Note 8 has been the subject of several rumours lately and as would be expected some creative geek has pieced the rumours and leaks together to come up with a video render of the device.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/galaxy-note-8-concept.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-129330" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/galaxy-note-8-concept.jpg?x44794" alt="samsung galaxy note 8" width="1418" height="760" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/galaxy-note-8-concept.jpg 1418w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/galaxy-note-8-concept-300x161.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/galaxy-note-8-concept-768x412.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/galaxy-note-8-concept-1024x549.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1418px) 100vw, 1418px" /></a></p>
<p>The YouTube video showcases the render of the Galaxy Note 7 captured from all angles and was created by Concept Creators. The Galaxy Note 8 is expected with a giant 6.4-inch display as well as dual cameras at the rear and these all came to life in the latest renders.</p>
<p>From the video, the Galaxy Note 8 would feature a bezel-less Infinity display just like the Galaxy S8. This is a Note, so there is a built-in S Pen stylus which pops out from the bottom and offers up to 4,096 different levels of pressure, same as on the defunct Note 7. The Galaxy Note is also shown to come with a dual-lens camera set up at the rear, with the cameras aligned in the vertical direction. Some would agree that the Galaxy Note 8 promises to be more interesting than the Galaxy S8. After all, the S8 didn&#8217;t feature a dual camera setup, to the disappointment of some.</p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" title="Samsung Galaxy note 8 introduction (concept)" width="696" height="392" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/fddIl8UGFvE?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>One feature which is absent on the Note 8 render is a rear fingerprint sensor. Perhaps, Concept Creator is suggesting that the sensor would be embedded under the screen up front. Other biometric security features like facial recognition and iris scanning will likely find their way into the Galaxy Note 8. The Bixby button is still visible at the side of the device, meaning it is likely going to be on the Note 8.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/samsung-galaxy-note-8.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-129331" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/samsung-galaxy-note-8.png?x44794" alt="galaxy note 8 renders" width="743" height="486" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/samsung-galaxy-note-8.png 743w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/samsung-galaxy-note-8-300x196.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 743px) 100vw, 743px" /></a></p>

<p>While these all look exciting, the renders aren&#8217;t the real stuff so the Galaxy Note 8 design might be different. It won&#8217;t be bad if the Note 8 comes out this beautiful, though, but it might just be too soon to say. The Galaxy Note 8 is likely a couple of months away and before then, more stunning renders will surely emerge.</p>
