Well-known industry expert Roland Quandt has shared plenty of details of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro that is scheduled to go official in the coming week. The handset will be arriving with several exciting features such as high-resolution OLED display, under-display fingerprint scanner, powerful chipset and triple rear cameras.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro Specifications and Features

The Mate 20 Pro will be arriving with an OLED display of 6.39 inches. The notched will carry support for Quad HD+ resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels. The display will be slightly rounded at the sides. As mentioned, the display of the Mate 20 Pro will be embedded with an in-screen fingerprint reader. The notch of the phone will be packed with an earpiece and 24-megapixel front-facing camera along with Vertical Surface Emitting Laser (VSEL) for 3D face unlock.

The back panel of the phone features Leica engineered triple cameras placed inside a square-shaped module. It will include f/1.8 aperture 40-megapixel primary sensor. The main sensor will be able to combine four pixels into one through a technology named FusionMind for capturing very impressive shots in dim-light conditions.

The main sensor will be assisted by 20-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture which will carry support for 5x optical zoom. The third sensor is an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens that replaces the monochrome sensor available on Huawei P20 Pro’s triple camera setup. The three camera sensors of the Mate 20 Pro can work together to take ultra-macro shots from a very close distance of 2.5cm. AI will play an important in optimizing photography experience on the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro.

The 7nm Kirin 980 will come equipped with dual NPU unit which can analyze image content with optimized settings. The Mate 20 duo will be able to shooter better night shots wherein software will analyze the images and stabilize them electronically. Depending on the countries where it releases, the Mate 20 Pro will include 6 GB or 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and it may arrive in 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB UFS 2.1 storage choices. The Mate 20 Pro will be equipped with a memory card slot. However, it won’t support microSD card. The handset will carry support for the all new and smaller nanoSD cards of up to 256 GB. Buyers should be aware of the fact that the handset will support only Huawei provided nanoSD cards.

The Mate 20 Pro will include 4,200mAh battery. It will carry support for SuperCharge 2.0 40W fast charging. The rapid charging technology will allow the Mate 20 Pro to gain 70 percent of battery power by charging it for only 30 minutes. The fast charger will be included inside the box package of Mate 20 Pro. The handset will also include support for high-speed wireless charging. Moreover, the device will include support for reverse wireless charging which will allow users to charge Freebuds 2 wirelessly through the phone.

The Mate 20 Pro will be an IP68 certified chassis. It will also include support for LTE, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, Gigabi WAN with dual-band support. The power packed Mate 20 Pro measures 8.6mm and weighs 189 grams. The smartphone will be loaded with EMUI 9.0 based Android 9.0 Pie OS.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro Pricing

The base model of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro that features 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of inbuilt storage will be priced at 899 pounds (~$1,190) in the U.K. The 128 GB edition of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 that features 6 GB of RAM is priced at 849 pounds (~$1,125) in the country. The Mate 20 Pro will be coming in four color options such as color gradient Twilight, black, blue and green.

Xiaomi Black Shark 2 gaming smartphone’s leaked video shows RGB lighting effects

Earlier this year, Xiaomi launched Black Shark gaming phone as an affordable alternative to the Razer Phone. After Razer announced its second-generation gaming smartphone — Razer Phone 2, Xiaomi is now working on its second-generation gaming phone, dubbed as Black Shark 2.

A couple of the weeks ago, the phone appeared on TENAA, revealing key specifications. Now, a video of the phone has leaked online, which reveals the phone’s design and shows off the cool lighting effects on the device.

The video shows that the phone will come with two light-up bars on each side of the frame, left and right, just below the power button and volume rocker. The leaked video shows breathing lighting effect on the bars, which synchronises with the Black Shark branding on the back.

It also shows that the phone will come with a dual-camera setup on the back and will be placed in the top-center position, same as the original Black Shark phone. Unlike its predecessor, the Black Shark 2 will come with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The TENAA listing of the the upcoming Black Shark 2 reveals that the phone carries model number AWM-A0. It will feature a 5.99-inch 18:9 display with 2160 x 1080 pixels screen resolution,DCI-P3 and colour gamut of up to 97 percent. It seems unlikely that the company will offer 120Hz refresh rate similar to what Razer offers on its new gaming phone.

Motorola releases Android 8.1 Oreo kernel source for Moto G5

Motorola always remained a little late in providing the kernel source code for their devices. After, Moto G5 Plus, now Moto G5 kernel source code of Android 8.1 Oreo build is available. Vivo has released a new launch poster on its Weibo account to confirm that it will be launching the Vivo Z3 smartphone in China on Oct. 17. The handset is already up for reservations on TMall. The Vivo Z3 reservations page on TMall only confirms the name of the smartphone but does not contain any information on its specs.

The launch poster that confirms the October 17 arrival date for the Vivo Z3 reveals that it will be fueled by Snapdragon 710 chipset. The handset will be also equipped with Dual Turbo technology that was first introduced on the Vivo X23 phone few months ago. The Dual Turbo technology comprises of two things, namely System Turbo and Game Turbo. The former enhances the system performance to load apps faster whereas the latter is responsible for assigning more resources for stutter-free gaming experience.

As far as other specs of the Vivo Z3 are concerned, it is expected to feature a waterdrop notch display of 6.3 inches that may carry support for Full HD+ pixels resolution. The Snapdragon 710 SoC of the phone could be coupled with 4 GB of RAM. It may feature an internal storage of 64 GB. The handset may include a 3,240mAh battery.

OPPO R15X full specs and pricing leaked through China Telecom website listing

TENAA had recently certified three OPPO phones with model numbers PBCT10, PBCM10 and PBCM30. The TENAA listings of these phones had revealed that they were equipped with in-display fingerprint scanner and carried similar specs. The PBCM30 model number belongs to the newly unveiled OPPO K1 smartphone. A new smartphone named OPPO R15X has been listed along with its specifications and pricing on the website of China Telecom. The listing confirms that the OPPO R15X has a model number of PBCM10.

The China Telecom website listing states that the OPPO R15X exists in two variants. The base model that is priced at 2,499 Yuan (~$362) features 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. It comes in two colors such as Nebula Gradient and Ice Silver. The higher model carries a pricing of 2,599 Yuan (~$376) and it includes 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The 6 GB RAM variant of the OPPO R15X comes in a single color edition of Ice Silver.

The specs sheet of the OPPO R15X reveals that it measures 158.3 x 75.5 x 7.4mm and weighs 156 grams. The handset features a waterdrop notch enabled AMOLED screen of 6.4 inches and it carries support for Full HD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. The handset is packed with a 3,500mAh battery and it is loaded with Android 8.1 Oreo OS. For additional storage, the handset features a microSD card slot.

Yesterday, Razer announced its second edition of the gaming smartphone, Razer Phone 2. It packs some good upgrades over its predecessor with similar pricing. Meizu X8 to release in market on October 15

Last month, Meizu had introduced smartphones like Meizu 16X, Meizu X8, Meizu V8 and Meizu V8 Pro smartphones in China. Except for the Meizu X8, the other smartphones are available for purchase in the home country. Today, the Chinese manufacturer has confirmed that the Meizu X8 will be available for buying starting from Oct. 15.

From 10:00 AM on Oct. 15, the Meizu X8 will be available for purchase through Meizu’s official website and Meizu’s official online store. And from Nov. 1, other Chinese retailers like Tmall, JD, Suning Tesco and so on will begin the sales of the Meizu X8.

The starting variant of the Meizu X8 that costs 1,598 Yuan (~$232) features 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of inbuilt storage. The model that is priced at 1,798 Yuan (~$260) has 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of native storage. The highest configuration edition of the Meizu X8 includes 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. It carries a pricing of 1,998 Yuan (~$290).

What’s interesting about the Meizu X8 smartphone is that it is the first phone from Meizu with notched display. It is fitted with a 6.2-inch IPS LCD panel that produces Full HD+ resolution. Like the Meizu 16X, the Meizu X8 is also fueled by Snapdragon 710 chipset.

Koh has spilled some beans on its upcoming foldable smartphone. Talking to CNET, Samsung’s D.J. Koh says that the foldable device can be transformed into a tablet and you can fold it up as a phone to put in your pocket. This new feature will help users to multitask along with easy portability.

Just like LG’s comment, Samsung’s D.J.Koh also pointed out that the foldable phone should be meaningful. He added that it is not viable to deliver products which don’t provide a good user experience. He stressed that the foldable phone wouldn’t be a “gimmick product” that will “disappear after six to nine months after it’s delivered.”

Koh told Cnet that, “When we deliver a foldable phone, it has to be really meaningful to our customer, If the user experience is not up to my standard, I don’t want to deliver those kinds of products.”

These comments provide clarity on the features that Samsung foldable phone will possess. The talks also relate to a rumour which states that Galaxy X will carry a 7.3-inch foldable display. Koh suggested that the device will open and close like a book.

The Chinese manufacturer is expected to launch the Mi MIX 3 and Mi Note 4 smartphones in this month, but the reliable leakster has shared details on Xiaomi products other than smartphones that will be soon coming to China.

Xiaomi has been selling 43-inch and 55-inch Mi TV 4S in China. Very soon the Chinese firm will be launching a larger 65-inch Mi TV 4S in the home market. It is expected to support 4K UHD resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels along with HDR. It is expected to arrive in color choices like Gunmetal Gray and Champagne Gold. Besides 65-inch Mi TV 4S, the Chinese firm will be also debuting other TVs such as 58-inch Mi TV 4A, 43-inch Mi TV 4X and 40-inch Mi TV 4C.

A new 15.6-inch Mi Notebook is expected to land in China soon. As of this writing, there is no information on its specifications. At the end of August, Xiaomi had released a new 15.6-inch Mi Notebook powered with 8^th generation Intel processor.
